In relation to this post with Jason's first love being circus boy!Dick.

Bruce having full faith that Jason's sweet little first love story will fizzle out after some time spent apart

A foolish thing to convince himself of, given that phones exist

Bruce doesn't know what he was expecting, but a circus boy having his own phone was not one of them and he has to level with himself on what the assumption says about him l:

Digression aside, Bruce being an exasperated dad because Jason won't put the fucking phone down; he's always smiling at it, too and he needs to know why

The only conclusions he draws involve Dick corrupting his babygirl via dirty texts and requests for salacious pictures.

And there are photos - so many photos - but they're all harmless, ranging from dumb to pretty to thoughtful. It's just Dick sharing his life with Jason and showing how Jason fits in it and Bruce is OTL because this fucking charmer bastard how sweet.

Then things escalate and all at once there are phone and video calls. And Bruce doesn't realize it at first until he's talking with Jason one evening and Dick chimes in and Bruce is D:< because his time with his babygirl has been infringed upon more than usual!? Unforgivable.

Only it is [forgivable] because Dick was helping Jason with an assignment for school. Or talking him through some social struggle he didn't want to come to Bruce with (because Bruce's solutions, while appreciated, are dramatically passionate and sometimes bring about more issues because Bruce has a Jason complex that's so big omg).

(Dick will develop a similar complex; it's how he'll bond with Bruce it's chill).

But yeah, Dick existing in the life of the Wayne household via phone. Bruce doesn't realize he's come to enjoy Dick's company until one day Jason isn't on the phone with Dick and Bruce asks after him and is disappointed when Jason says Dick is busy

And then Bruce catches himself and gets petulant, only Alfred totally caught him and, 'smugness is unbecoming, Alfred )<' while he leaves the room and promptly OTL because damn it.

In addition:

Years into their friendship/relationship, Jason works with Dick's parents to visit during Dick's birthday

Which gives Jason all sorts of butterflies, only not for the expected reasons. Like, yeah. He's excited to see Dick. More wonderful though? Dick's parents acknowledging him.

Which arguably they did a while ago, but to be invited by them personally to something is so important to him

And Bruce is sitting there, wondering if Jason is genuinely awestruck or dropping heavy-handed hints for Bruce to invite Dick to their home for Jason's birthday and Bruce straight up plays dumb about it

Also:

Dick visiting Jason during some downtime. A brief stint because he still has to train and work on new routines, but a solid week with spent visiting Jason and spending time with the family

Bruce stalking the halls in anticipation of catching Dick sneaking into Jason's room.

Alfred catches Bruce in the act and points out how the boys are staying in one of the lounges

To which Bruce sprints off down the staircase and crashes the sleepover and Jason is so indignant and embarrassed although Dick laughs and welcomes Bruce like it's nothing

Bruce being charmed left and right because Dick and him click somehow, some way. Alfred throwing out a choice comment about how daughters find loves like their fathers and Bruce is ;A; suddenly seeing all the ways Dick is like him ahahahaha

Also, typical coming-of-age story dramas:

Jason, distraught because Dick gets a girlfriend and she's actually wonderful fuuuuuuuuuck

Bruce, internally very smug, outwardly cooing at his babygirl because it's okay Bruce has got him it's okay jay bb

And like, let it be a legit relationship. It doesn't last, but post-breakup Jason drops everything to fly wherever and surprise his bestie

And Bruce is pissed because he isn't raising a rebound ):<

Trigun Bookclub: Trigun Vol.1, Chapter #03

More Trigun annotations! I'm doing a deep-read of the Japanese original print (reread) and Overhaul 1.0 (first read) side-by-side, and writing down everything I notice from small details, version differences, translation differences, etc. (and being so so gay about the characters. of course)

Starting off with the chapter cover of our handsome boy, this is the first time we see him with his glasses! I've seen someone on Twitter make a guide on Vash's different glasses designs over the manga (sadly it either cost money or was only distributed at a con and I don't have it...), so I'll try to pay attention to that during this readthrough.

As I've mentioned in the previous chapter, his antennae used to stand straight up, but they're bent now! They pop back up once in a while but from here on, the default is bent.

I love how gently he sets the girl down, and also the way everyone waits in awkward silence (and confusion) for Vash to move the rubble.

I think this part works excellently as-is, but notes on the nuances of what Nebraska originally said (this was ridiculously hard and the translation is very rough):

①「絶対どこかで不都合を並べた奴を消して来てるのさ」 ②「なぜなら」 ③「現におまえは消される側にまわってねえ……！！」 ↓ ① There has to have been a time when you "eliminated" ("erased"/killed) someone that got in your way (/someone unfortunate enough to [be there]...etc). ② Because... ③ In reality, you haven't taken on the role ("side") of being eliminated...!!

This part's very hard... He's talking about something similar to offense/defense. In this case, it's that because Vash has been avoiding conflict/being in direct danger entirely, Nebraska is saying that Vash must have killed, directly or indirectly, someone who got in the way of Vash's fleeing. I think.

I'm not sure why, but the way this was phrased stuck out to me.

Also, Gofsef's fist had an extra knuckle for one panel.

A translation error - it should be something like "He shot every bullet into the same precise spot... And shifted its trajectory!?"

Vash says "JACKPOT!" in English here, in the Japanese version. also hes soooo handsomeeeeee look at him omgggg kicking my legs back n forth blushing giggling i need to be tranquilized.

Nebraska's straight-up being crushed into pieces here. goddamn.

Not sure if it was removed in one of the reprints or in Overhaul's cleanup process, but in my Japanese copy, there was a "thump" onomatopoea of the guy backing into a wall.

Milly and Meryl are the best comedy duo in the world... They're perfect... The tiny speech bubble actually says something like "They're goofing all over the place..." The word ボケ (boke) is the funny man in a manzai comedy duo (as opposed to the straight man), and/or the jokes that the person in that role makes.

YIPPEE!! (In Japanese, it's one continuous exclamation ↑ like so. Also, there are tiny music notes around the handwritten text in the wahoo speech bubble.)

Vash runs out of breath after celebrating (cleaned up in Overhaul). God he's so silly...

A small error - I would phrase Meryl's line as "[Now, now,] Don't get too ahead of yourself."

I love how in Japanese, Meryl calls Vash "a very dangerous person with chronic troublemaker disease (慢性トラブル症)." I'm saying this from now on.

She also sarcastically says that she's grateful of the stars' alignment that they were able to meet, while gorilla gripping Vash's hand.

Also, I never noticed how fucked up Nebraska's body was!? Maybe the memories just got rewritten by Stampede. but goddamn. gun for legs...giant mechanical hands...

Vash making a Kirby Ꙩ.Ꙩ face my beloved. just a little guy!! with some badass girls!!! The last line is 「…はい？」 which is like what??/huh??/alright?? etc. はい is a very versatile word ☝ lol

Once I got past the feeling of omgggg this is terrible why did I ever think I could write anything, I felt like my normal writing self while working on it , and it was reassuring because writing has been nearly impossible this year

I’m terrible at picking favorites of anything, but the last line here was the one I built U-Pop Truck Stop around:

All of Truth or Drink because I had the questions, but I didn’t have their backstory planned. It all just came out as I was writing and I really love that H and L

I had to learn to let go of writing long fics and try to be satisfied with shorter stories. Idk if that’s growth though because tbh I’m not satisfied lol and I miss it so much

9. How do you hope to grow next year:

Next year I really hope to learn how to write in a way that satisfies my creative side, that produces longer works, but that takes more time. I need to figure out a way to write the length of fic I want to write, but spread it out and still keep that focus and inspiration going

10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):

It’s literally always Nic @louandhazaf because without him, I’d never have written a word, and without him, I still wouldn’t write. He’s the backbone of my writing and the best friend and beta I could ever hope for

11. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:

I’m absolutely shocked to answer no to this because bits of my real life have always wormed their way into my fics, but I guess it’s because all my fics this year have been so short?

12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:

Other than JUST WRITE and listen to @roseanddaggerpodcast I highly recommend titling your wip WORST VERSION OF whatever your title is because that helped me soooo much on Ride My Sleigh Tonight when I was struggling at the start. As soon as I put that in the doc title it was like magic. Every time I’d get in my head and think “oh this is horrible” or whatever or start thinking that my writing sucked or something, I’d see that title and think I CAN FIX IT LATER

13. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:

I actually have a wip where L and H got married really young and divorced really young (no kids or anything) but I’ve sort of abandoned it. Idk if I’ll get back to it.

I did have an idea for a xmas fic lol and if I do write it, I’m thinking of posting it like an advent fic but in July. So like xmas in July 🎄

In reality, I’m going to be so busy idk if I’ll be able to write at all, but I really just want to be inspired by an idea that won’t let go

oooh I LOVE this question heheheh. Measurements will be in cm because I am European ✌🏻🤪

They started off with around 10cm of length and 3cm of girth, so a really comfortable beginners dildo (it also has a really nice veiny texture which Kook really loved feeling against his rim ngng). He wanted to use it for a good year I would say (with the occasional glass dildo play which was just a little bigger but still on the smaller side). Then they worked their way up to a dildo with 12cm of length and around 4cm girth. The veiny texture was missing, so Kook really liked working himself up with the first dildo before changing it up for the newer model. He really loved the sex and they used it for around five months before he asked if they could try something bigger. The girth stayed the same, but the length grew to 16cm. It was pink in colour and really hit the right spots. Kook moaned a lot when she fucked him with it and to this day it's one of his fave dildos.

These days he can take around 20cm of length and 5,5cm of girth. With lots of preparation of course and lots and lots of lube and praise <3. But the dildo they use on a more regular basis is around 18cm of length and 4,5cm of girth, so a really comfortable, slightly bigger dildo with a good veiny texture and a nicely shaped head.

Just wanted to let you writers know that you guys inspire me a lot and have gotten me through the toughest times. When I feel like I'm not enough at school or at home, I have a character that relates to me and I feel less alone. Or when I'm just feeling down, there are those oddly specifically humored fics that make me feel a million times better. There are also ones with the 10000/10 vibes omgggg. I literally have so many Pinterest boards set up so I could make fanart for them. And I love this about fandoms, people's art inspires others to make art and we support each other.

Take it or Leave it by Smileyjack (The Bad Guys) Snake can't sleep bc he's cold so he cuddles with Wolf to warm up while he's sleeping. Snake, the denier he is, can't get over how in love he is with Wolf, and when Wolf asks him about it. Snake is such as dork about not wanting to admit he wants love and attention and this fic DOES IT JUSTICEEEE (epic echoey voice) also I love Snake and Wolf's mannerisms and dialogue in here. Mwah so good such a good fic to go to bed to👩‍🍳🫶

lighthouse by jjsworld2021 (The Bad Guys) Snake angst where he is molting and gets sad and remembers his past through a notebook and Wolf is soooososo sweet comforting him. It's got angst with a whole lot of heart, Wolf being such a sweetheart (also snake being a loving softie), fluffyvenom kisses and cuddles, and snake lore.

Sick day by daniel_lee and TotallyNotALemon (The Bad Guys) Wolf is sick and Snake takes care of him and it's sooooo sweeeeettt. Wolf is also a brat and it's hilarious. Wolf's smug ass is something I'll never get tired of.

Chocolate haze by @shelli-gator (The Bad Guys) Mostly where Snake tends to a cut on Wolf's face. It kinda has some lore about how Wolf got the scar on his eyebrow and how the bad guys made it a thing to not make their criminal acts personal. This fic kinda took it that the bad guys were more of a gang, but it doesn't bother me too much bc it was mostly fluffyvenom-centric. But MMMMMMM I love the way the author wrote this. They described things in a style I've never read before?? it lowkey reminds me of the way the author of Peacekeeper writes. Their tone was so beautiful, serious, but also hoootttt. Also they described the surroundings and how Wolf/Snake looked at each other (physical appearance) and I could just imagine how this could look in my head

Divorce Drive by daniel_lee and TotallyNotALemon (🔞 for explicit sexual content) (The Bad Guys) Ugh these two are a writing power couple I swear. This one's where Wolf and Snake have recently divorced (not from each other but Wolf from Diane and Snake from a snake lady) and Wolf meets Snake in a bar and asks to hook up. It had everything I needed and more. Wolfs rizz the beginning and throughout was soooo hot my hot compress could not. I soo want to do fan art for Wolf being at the bar, GOD. Also, I thought this would be straight up pwnp but I WAS VERY INCORRECT. It had lots of feelings. Anyways I loved this one a lot!! It was especially comforting during crappy period feeling time :(

Go Bad or Go Home by @bloomtoy (The Bad Guys) A series where about how Wolf and Snake met. It follows their early heists and I love their conversations. This is the one where they met bc they were trying to steal the same diamond and teamed up to escape.

The Enigma Project by SpookOrSpectre (zootopia) (beware this is unfinished but there's more chapters on fanfic.net) UUGGHHHH this has literally been my personality for a while. Also got me thru a lot of school depresso hours. This takes place after the movie where Nick and Judy art buddy cops. They are assigned a case by Bogo that turns out to be a supernatural thing. There's this org called A3I with deals with those sorts of cases and Nick and Judy end up joining them in their cases. It's a very detective mystery but also suuuUUPPER SPPPOOOOKY. I had to stop reading this at night at some point bc I got too scared. I love the way they wrote Nick and Judy in the first few chapters. They got such good chemistry and it sounded SOOOO like the original movie and it even added more. IT WAS GIVINGGGG.

Daddy Long Legs by MidnightStrix (Helluva Boss) (🔞 for explicit sexual content) Where Stolas and Blitzo are doing their monthly hookup but Blitzo gets caught up thinking about never being able to be loved. I looove the writing in this one! It was so sarcastic and I loved reading about Blitzo's internal monologue. Just a warning, it is pretty explicit (i just started getting into the Helluva fanfics, if yall have any recs please send them :'))

I LOVE writing about songs. It's the easiest way for me to write, honestly. I guess that speaks more to the song-artist than about me hehehe. The second I hear a song I like, I envision a whole story about the lyrics. Noah Kahan has been KILLING me for months. His new song Forever just officially dropped today and I can't with "we can't make rent, so we window shop." I have lots of ideas based on songs rolling around in my head and you can see how quick I write when I have a song that makes the story easier based on some of my older work (not that I'd recommend reading anything older it's trashy af).

MY DREAM. so I found out my brother was part of this um. Secret magazine whose editing body was located in a building which defied all usual laws of logic, was sentient, and filled with soooo many objects that would appear spontaneously. Ranging from plastic dinosaurs 🦖 🦕 to living stray cats. I found out because occasionally someone would stumble into the building thinking it was a museum and ask for a tour and all the employees would pretend it was just a very odd museum and give the tour. And I stumbled in and I was one of them and I realised something was off because it didn't make sense for a museum to be Like That and the rooms kept growing, shrinking, and disappearing. And then I saw my brother and I was like 🤨 bro fess up. So he told me all about the secret magazine edited and written in this secret building and how it wasn't traditionally sold, but would fly and find people at the right time of their lives. And I was like that sounds sick I want to write/edit for it. I need things for my CV. And he was like ummmm don't be mad but I've actually been stealing your super secret poems and publishing them anonymously in the magazine. I was a bit mad because all these people who were not me were profiting off of my work. because the house found ways of paying its inhabitants/employees. But he was like I'll hire you you can stay. It turned out that EVERYBODY loved my anonymously published poems though they didn't have enough in common for them to realise they were all written by the same person. But people were proper fans. Like they'd have tote bags with the poems written on them and t-shirts and other merch and I'd be like hey!! That's mine!! During my time in the house, I discovered you could manipulate it into adding new rooms you wanted, and not just let it follow its own whims. So I designed some bedrooms (before, if people stayed there overnight, they'd just sleep on the floor and wake up in back pain). Everyone was like "omgggg how did you do that" and I was like "it's not like shaping the fabric of the world around you is hard...." One day I got my payment, kind of: a woman materialised in the building with a kind of pathetic looking cat. And she was like I'm from a pet adoption agency and no-one wants to adopt this cat idk why :( but I've been sent here to give it to you :3 but her tone of voice was very suspicious so I was like there's something you're not telling me... And she was like that's true. So the cat was living with an elderly couple who both died in their sleep. And the cat, having nothing to eat, ate them. It was discovered after months and now no-one wants to adopt it. I was like that's so weird why would no-one want to adopt this kitty it's not its fault... And she was like but it got used to its diet and now it's exclusively a cannibal cat and no-one wants to feed it in accordance with its diet. and i was like you mean this cat still eats human flesh? i can feed it human flesh idc. and she was like no actually it only eats other cats. And this was more troubling to me but I was like. Surely it's a sad fact but many cats die anyway every day and I can find those and feed them to my new cat. So I adopted it. It got used to eating humans alright it KEPT biting me. Not in a painful way, but still - it would latch on with its entire jaw and refuse to let go. But it was how it showed affection and checked if I was still alive as it had anxiety about its owners dying so i tolerated it and showered the cat with love and affection. Even though it tried to bite my fingers off. Also at some point I had a conversation with my brother where I was like bro what is this place sentient magazine building thing. You do stem this isn't like you. Does your girlfriend know about this. And he sighed dramatically and said his girlfriend doesn't know about this, and she also doesn't know that he's secretly in love with a 40 year-old divorce with kids who was in prison for domestic abuse. And I was like ???? And he was like. I could fix them. I wont because I'm loyal to my girlfriend though. And I was like. ???

Random Thoughts on HTTYD RttE S2(Ep8-13)

Ep8&9 - Astrid is being a little meany to the twins, but i get why

Barf&Belch throwing that last tree trunk and then butting heads, looking super proud of themselves was funny

Daamn, Ruffnut! It seems she's been holding that in for a long time now

Okay, like, i can see where Ruffnut is coming from; there have been moments where Astrid mocks or scolds elements of her team (mostly either the twins or Snotlout) for really small things, but since it's always played for laughs, we as a viewer have never taken it into consideration until now, when Ruff throws it at Astrid's face.

But you can't completely blame her! Sometimes, the twins really do stupid stuff and put the team in danger, and Astrid won't forget that, as she shouldn't.

But then, she's also too inflexible and that's where Hiccup's better. He's able to reach a compromise with the twins and make them follow and help the team in their own way. Astrid - it's not even that she can't do that - it's that she won't. And the twins aren't dumb, they understand that.

Fluffnut and Stuffnut are genius names and i shall not take any criticism

Yeahhh capturing one of the twins might not have been your best move here

Im really curious to see what Tuff's plan is

Reading his body language and MUCH less formal way of speaking in 03 Leo’s body was very weird - if it’s bad for me it must be uncanny valley for the 03 fam. I love that the swords exploded (though 03 Leo is NOT going to be happy when he gets home) and it fits really well with cannon as anytime anything bad happens to 03 Leo something happens to his swords too.
