Mystery can I ask you a science based question? In frontiers the egg memos talked about dna corroding and forming the Chao or the ancients. I don’t understand how dna corrodes. Is this an error or is this something that I just don’t have science knowledge on?

My short answer is “no.” DNA does not corrode. To have something corroded would mean that there a chemical reaction. Corrosions is seen in metals, stones, and other materials. We most commonly associate corrosion with metals. Corrosion a process that takes refined metals and converts it into a chemically stable oxide… rust!

DNA can deteriorate/degrade, meaning that it loses its ability to be read. DNA deterioration can be the result of how we age, how tissue is preserved, UV and element exposure, temperature and pH exposures, and how it preserves in the environment. It all depends.

I think what the author of the memos was trying to say is that the DNA structure of the Ancients was “worn down/eaten away at” as it went through a state of evolution. If this is the case, the “corrode” does not fit the context. It needs to be changed, then an explanation of how the Ancients evolved into Chao(s) as well.

sonic frontiers multiplayer mode but

you can play as all the characters sonic has mentioned in the idle quotes ("is it late to call rouge and tell her to steal the emeralds for me?", "I'd love to have Blaze's help rn" etc.), not just his friends who are stuck there.

but the explanation as to why you can play as them is that sonic is seeing things. he's exhausted, sleep deprived, slowly corrupted, in pain. his mind will start playing tricks. he will see illusions of the people he's trying to save and of the ones he is remembering in order to keep himself sane.

but when he realizes it was all lies, he's even more hurt than before, making his task harder but also his determination stronger.

(interesting bonus: multiplayer mode where you can choose if you will help sonic or battle with him. sonic appreciates getting help but if his friends attack him? he'll panic. and he'll have to survive first to understand whether he's fighting a real person or not.)
