"What should I get?" you inquired, lowering your voice as much as humanly possible so only Yunhyeong could hear you. Even though you were a tourist and this was your first time here, you didn't exactly want it to be obvious. The restaurant was tiny enough that eavesdropping was inevitable, but you could at least try to keep your conversation contained to your charming table for two.
"I had the Quiche Lorraine last time, and it was fantastic," Yunhyeong replied, his eyes still surveying the menu. "But this is absolutely one of those places where there are no wrong choices."
You nodded silently, biting the inside of your cheek as your gaze flitted back and forth between the menu and your dinner date -- partner. Sorry. Dinner partner sitting across from you.
"And," Yunhyeong continued, his grin peeking through in his voice when he spoke. "We can actually order alcohol this time."
You knit your brows in confusion, letting your eyes settle on him for more than a half-second. "What do you mean?"
Yunhyeong's smile grew just a fraction wider before he gently set down his menu, crossed his arms over the marble top of the table, and leaned toward you. (To put into perspective just how small the table was, by the way -- his cologne was now invading your sense because he was so close to you.)
"Remember your first day on the job?" he began, murmuring like he was revealing some confidential information.
You nodded, resisting the urge to copy his movements and lean in yourself.
"We were on the flight together, you had your nose pressed to the taxi window all the way into the city, we had a meal together -- just like today. But a year ago, we couldn't order any Sake because you had another flight later that day. Today, we can," he told you earnestly, though he ended his sentence with a blink-and-you-missed-it wink.
"How do you remember all that?" you whispered, frankly a bit flabbergasted that his memory was so good.
Yunhyeong simply shrugged before lifting his hand casually to wave over a server.
"Une bouteille de vin, s'il vous plait. Chateau Cos d'Estournel," he requested once the server arrived, the language flowing beautifully from his lips.
"Oui, Monsieur," the server muttered with a nod before turning on their heel and dashing elegantly toward the back of the restaurant.
You honestly weren't quite sure what to make of all this. First, Yunhyeong had arranged for you to fly to Paris as a friend-aversary gift. Second, he had told you that you look fantastic. Third, he had remembered virtually every detail of the first day the two of you had met. Fourth, he had just ordered a bottle of wine in nearly perfect French. In an incredibly romantic restaurant. In Paris.
"What kind of wine did you order?" you asked after clearing away the anxiety stuck in your throat.
Yunhyeong shot you a smirk, one so pleased and adorable that the anxiety you'd just cleared away came back with a vengeance. "Only the best," he replied.
Correction: he had just ordered a bottle of the best wine in nearly perfect French. In an incredibly romantic restaurant. In Paris.
The server returned, bottle and glasses in hand, only a couple of minutes later, deftly setting the wine glasses down in front of each of you and pouring the dark red liquid expertly.
"Merci," Yunhyeong murmured as the server left the bottle on the bottle on the table. "Encore quelques minutes avant de commander, s'il vous plait."
Again, the server nodded, turned on their heel, and dashed away.
Before you got the chance to ask what he'd said, Yunhyeong reached for his glass, lifting it gently by the stem and locking eyes with you. "To a full year of working together and, more importantly, being friends. And to, hopefully, many more to come. Many, many more," he toasted with that sparkle in his eye you knew so well.
"Many more," you managed to say, clinking your glass with his before surreptitiously taking a rather large gulp. After setting your glass down carefully, you pushed your chair back from the table. "I will -- oh, god, that wine is delicious. I just need to powder my nose, I'll be right back. If the server returns while I'm gone, I would like the boeuf bourguignon."
"Mm, yes, of course, go ahead," Yunhyeong replied quickly, his eyes on you as you swerved around the table to get to the restroom.
The second you ducked into the minuscule cubicle labeled Toilettes, you closed and locked the door behind you and slid your phone out of your pocket.
You had no time to think about time zones, and the person you were calling kept a very irregular schedule anyway; he could be awake at any hour of the day.
After three and a half rings, your heart racing the whole time, the line clicked, and you heard a somewhat sleepy "Yo," in your ear.
"Jae," you whispered. "I need to talk to you."
"...Where are you, and why are you whispering?"
"It doesn't matter. I mean, where I am does matter. I'm in Paris, and --"
"Dude, in Paris?! Since when?!"
"Since today, and that's part of it."
"Part of what?"
"Just let me explain!"
"Okay, okay, I'm listening."
You took a deep breath, hoping to calm your nerves so you could tell him everything without skipping any important detail. "You know my co-worker, Yunhyeong, right?"
"The dude you had a crush on for --"
"We're friends, okay," you interrupted. "But, yes. That one. Well, he surprised me by changing my schedule behind my back so we could fly to Paris and stay here for a few days. Because it's our friend-aversary -- he said that, not me. He literally used the word 'friend-aversary.' And he's taken me to this little restaurant by our hotel, and it's super romantic and charming, and he told me I look fantastic, and he mentioned something about him being incredibly less attractive than me, and he ordered their best bottle of wine, and he made this toast that was like 'to one year of friendship and many more to come. Many, many more.' And I just -- I don't know what to think."
Jae was quiet for quite a while, and you knew that meant he was thinking.
"I mean..." he began after almost half a minute. "I think you do know what to think, Y/N."
"...I do?"
"Mhm."
You knew what you wanted to think. You wanted to think that Yunhyeong was actually being more than friendly. You wanted to think he was flirting with you.
"But he's a naturally friendly kind of guy," you explained. "He's super charming and outgoing, and everyone likes him. That kind of guy."
"Have you ever witnessed him flirting with someone?" Jae asked patiently.
"...I don't think so."
"Has he ever talked to you about anyone that he's romantically interested in?"
"...No."
"And when I have been romantically interested in someone, have I talked to you about it?"
"...Yes. But that's different --"
"It's not different. I talk to you about that kind of stuff because I don't feel that way about you. No offense."
"None taken," you answered without missing a beat.
"But," Jae continued. "If I did feel that way about you, there's no way I would tell you about other people I'm interested in. Probably because I wouldn't be interested in other people, just you. This is purely hypothetical, by the way."
"Yeah, I know," you huffed, doing nothing to hide your annoyance. That's just the kind of relationship you had with Jae -- the two of you could be completely honest with each other. No holds barred, no hard feelings. "So... you're saying the reason he doesn't talk to me about that is because... he likes me?"
"I mean, it's not a foolproof theory, but I would say it's highly likely."
You stood there, blinking for a few seconds without replying. And then, "...So, what do I do?"
"I dunno, man."
"What do you mean you don't know?!"
"What do you want to do?!"
"I don't know!"
"Do you like him?"
"I've spent the past several months pretending I don't, but yes. I do."
"Then just tell him. Or ask him. Bring it up."
"But what if --"
"'What ifs' will ruin your life, Y/N," Jae scolded. "You either need to tell him, or you need to let it go. And if you don't decide tonight, you're going to let it distract you from having an amazing time in Paris."
You almost wanted to curse him for knowing you so well.
"What does your gut tell you?" he asked.
It seemed cheesy, but in order to answer his question, you closed your eyes. You took a deep breath and let it out slowly. And you listened.
Yunhyeong was a friendly person, there was no doubt about that. He greeted everyone with a smile. He was helpful to everyone. He was, quite literally, the perfect Flight Attendant. But... there was something about that sparkle. The sparkle in his eye you knew so well -- remember that? You had always thought it was just his adorably mischievous side coming out, but... what if you were wrong.
What if that sparkle was just for you? And what if you knew it so well because he'd liked you this whole time?
The more you thought about it, the more you knew Jae was right.
You wouldn't come out and tell him that, of course, but he was right.
"My gut tells me that I need to tell him," you finally said, your voice soft but sure.
"Then go for it, my dude," Jae replied with an obvious smile.
His smile was contagious, and the corners of your lips curved up. "I will. Thank you."
"It's what I'm here for. And also poke bowl cravings. I'm here for that, too."
"Of course," you chuckled. "All right, I'm going to go back out there. Wish me luck."
"You don't need it," Jae assured you before he hung up.
After sliding your phone back into your pocket, you smoothed down the front of your trousers, tugged at the shoulders of your shirt, let out a quick exhale... and opened the door.
Tumblr media
"I'm so sorry about that," you said, chuckling breathlessly as you took your seat at the table once again.
"No, not at all," Yunhyeong grinned. "I just ordered a couple of minutes ago, so you didn't miss anything. Except my expert French."
"I am only letting you order when we go to eat somewhere, by the way." You returned his smile, picking up your wine glass and taking a sip -- not a gulp this time.
"Well, who am I to say 'no' to you?"
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, and you took that as your queue to actually go through with what you'd talked about on the phone with Jae.
"Can I..." you began, trying to maintain eye contact with him but finding yourself glancing at your wine glass. "Ask you something?"
Yunhyeong's brow furrowed gently, and he tilted his head the tiniest bit. "Of course."
"Is... this... a date?"
Four words had never been so nerve-wracking to say.
"Well, yes, of course, it is," he replied without hesitation. "It's our --"
"Friend-aversary," you finished for him. "But I mean... not a friend date. Like... a real date?"
Okay, those were the most nerve-wracking words you'd ever said.
Yunhyeong's expression immediately softened, but you couldn't tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He no longer looked curious or confused, and you kind of felt like he should be?
Unless... he wasn't confused about the answer or curious why you'd asked.
"I..."
It seemed like an eternity before he continued on, though in reality, it was but a few moments.
"...Would like it to be. If you feel the same."
And Jae was right again.
You shifted in your seat, pressing your lips together to stop yourself from bursting into a grin. "I do, actually."
"Really?" Yunhyeong sighed. He reached one hand out, covering your fingers with his and gripping them.
When you nodded in response, Yunhyeong let out another sigh, hanging his head briefly before lifting it up to lock his gaze on you. "I've been wanting to go on a date with you for a long time," he admitted, though he certainly didn't sound shy about it.
"A long time?!" you laughed incredulously. "I've liked you for a long time!"
Yunhyeong quirked a brow at you. "...How long is long?"
"As long as possible. Since the first day. Remember how I kissed you on the cheek? I thought that was a pretty big giveaway that I was interested, but you didn't do anything about it, so I just thought we were going to be friends."
As soon as you'd said 'the first day,' Yunhyeong's jaw had dropped. And somehow, he even managed to make that look attractive.
"The first -- But I thought you were just thanking me!"
"...With a kiss on the cheek?" you chuckled.
"Well, yeah! Obviously! I didn't know it meant anything other than that!"
You lifted your other hand and placed it atop his, sandwiching his hand between your own. "For someone who always knows exactly how I'm feeling, how did you not pick up on that?" you asked, only slightly teasing.
Yunhyeong let out a huff and rolled his eyes at himself. "Let me tell you, I have never been able to pick up on cues like that. Not once in my life have I ever known when someone was flirting with me."
So, all this time... if you had just expressed your interest to his face...
Jae's words on the phone not ten minutes ago echoed in your head: What ifs will ruin your life, Y/N.
"Well," you said," picking up his hand and placing a soft, lingering kiss on his knuckles. "Just so you know, this is me flirting with you."
Yunhyeong threw his head back laughing, and you didn't care that all of the other patrons in the restaurant turned to look. You simply beamed over at him, stretching your legs out to tangle your ankles with his under the table.
Once the echo of his laughter faded away, he squeezed your hand and gazed at you with the most heart-wrenching smile. "I won't lie, I was wondering if you were going to figure it out."
"Figure what out?"
"Paris, the restaurant, the wine, the toast... I didn't think I was being subtle."
"No, you weren't," you chuckled. "Which is why I had to go to the toilettes and call Jae to ask his advice."
"That's what you were doing?!"
You nodded, your chuckle gently evolving into a laugh.
"Well," he said, his thumb skimming over the back of your hand. "Remind me to thank him when we get home."
You nodded once more, but his words -- as dumb as it sounds -- reminded you that you were, indeed, not at home. You were in Paris.
With Yunhyeong.
You were in the City of Love with someone you -- well, you didn't love him in that way right now, but you could certainly see yourself getting there one day.
Maybe even one day soon.
...This was going to be the best layover ever.

BEST FRIEND iKon A⇴Z HEADCANON ⇴ Song Yunhyeong
Tumblr media
A ⇴ ATTENTION
Being your best friend is something that Yunhyeong is proud of, and with that he definitely takes on the role as your protector too. He doesn’t let anyone else pay more attention than he does, after all, he’s your best friend.
B ⇴ BICKER
When you want to try and wind each other up, bickering will definitely be how you go about it. You both know exactly what the right thing to say is in order to annoy the other person, and if one of you is in the right mood to bicker then you’ll definitely try and start something by being mean to one another.
C ⇴ COMFORT
His empathetic nature makes Yunhyeong almost perfect whenever you need comforting. It usually goes well for so long, but once he begins to pick up on the fact that you’re feeling better, he’ll try and make you laugh. Most of the time, his joke will fall flat and end up giving you a new reason to be annoyed.
D ⇴ DISAGREEMENTS
One of the things that the two of you are good at is communicating after any disagreements between the two of you take place. Most of the time you managed to talk things out before anything happened, but if it did, then you’d give yourselves a little bit of time to cool off before deciding to call so that you could both explain where you came from and understand where the other came from as well.
E ⇴ EARLY YEARS
You had to be professional when you first met Yunhyeong, but as he got to know you, he wanted you to stick around. He could tell that you were a little reserved around him when the two of you first met and so he worked hard to make sure that you knew Yunhyeong was someone you could be comfortable around. He made you smile and made you feel safe which was how things got easier between you two.
F ⇴ FAMILY
Yunhyeong’s family were incredibly close to you, almost like a family to you too. Yunhyeong put a lot of effort into introducing you to his family at the start of your friendship as he knew that you’d be sticking around for a long time. Over time, the bond that you had with his family got tighter and tighter as they looked after you and helped you out when you needed them, even if Yunhyeong wasn’t there.
G ⇴ GETTING TOGETHER
Although sometimes you were a little bit hesitant, Yunhyeong will often somehow convince you to go on a bike ride with you. He loves exploring and cycling around to new places, as with your helmets on the two of you were pretty unrecognisable for any fans who might have been walking around.
H ⇴ HABITS
The two of you had a habit of teasing the other members, Yunhyeong somehow found a way to get you involved in him teasing the boys quite a lot of the time. You tried to sit back and just let him tease them, but soon enough your name would be mentioned, and you’d be left with no choice but to play along too.
I ⇴ INSIDE JOKES
Usually, your inside jokes came from the moments when Yunhyeong embarrassed himself around you. You never let him forget when he ended up making a fool of himself, using your inside jokes to try and get your way, using them to blackmail Yunhyeong often under the threat of sharing those jokes with others.
J ⇴ JEALOUSY
If anything, your other friends were jealous of you for being able to call Yunhyeong your best friend. He was warm and inviting towards everyone, qualities that many others wished they had in their best friends. Quite a few of your close friends mentioned how lucky you were to be able to call Yunhyeong your best friend as they all watched and admired how caring and considerate he was towards you.
K ⇴ KICKS
Yunhyeong got a kick out of pranking you, often trying to find a new way to make you jump. You had to keep on your toes with Yunhyeong as your best friend, as he was forever hiding behind doors to make you jump or setting up pranks to terrify you when you were walking around somewhere unassumingly.
L ⇴ LOVE
He loved how the two of you never got bored of being around one another. You didn’t necessarily have to be doing anything too thrilling and over the top, even just sitting at home and talking to one another still put a smile on your face. You both knew the things that you enjoyed doing when you were together so that you could avoid doing anything that risked making the two of you bored at any point.
M ⇴ MEETING
The two of you first met when you were working as part of the crew during one of the group’s shows. You didn’t say too much to Yunhyeong as you were a little too shy to approach him, but actually the way that you avoided him was what pulled him towards you and made him want to introduce himself.
N ⇴ NONSENSE
Plenty of cheese comes from Yunhyeong as he tries to be as funny as he can around you. He knows that it makes you smile deep down, even if he does catch your eyes rolling and hear sighs from you at the same time.
O ⇴ OBSESSION
Yunhyeong was obsessed with hearing your laughter, even if sometimes you were laughing at him rather than laughing with him, just knowing that you were happy was more than enough for Yunhyeong.
P ⇴ PRECIOUS MOMENTS
The moments that make him laugh with you are the most precious to Yunhyeong. He doesn’t care where you are or what it is that the two of you are doing, the moments that mean the most to Yunhyeong are just the ones when he’s enjoying himself and feeling as if he’s on top of the world with you.
Q ⇴ QUESTIONS
It doesn’t matter what it is that’s on his mind, Yunhyeong will ask you about it. You’re the one that his random thoughts get dumped on as he tries to understand things, or just talk about absolute nonsense too.
R ⇴ RANDOM FACTS
Quite often during the day when you know that you’re going to be hanging out with Yunhyeong, you’ll get a text mid-afternoon with the menu for the evening. Yunhyeong likes to be well prepared, but he also likes to make sure that he cooks your favourites, so he’ll get your opinions well in advance.
S ⇴ SUPPORT
Although he loves that you come to work events to support the whole group, Yunhyeong loves especially when you have a compliment for Yunhyeong especially. He’ll stand back and let you tell the whole group they did well, but his smile will be at its biggest when you tell just him how good he was on stage.
T ⇴ TRIPS
Whenever the two of you go on a trip, everything is on Yunhyeong’s shoulders. He prides himself on organising the perfect trip for the two of you and refuses to let you do anything no matter how many times you offer.
U ⇴ ULTIMATE
Having you right by his side was a huge comfort for Yunhyeong, knowing you were there was just the biggest relief for him.
V ⇴ VISITS
Quite often Yunhyeong would appear at your workplace or at your apartment with meals for you. If he had some leftovers from cooking, then he’d take them to you to make sure that you were looking after yourself.
W ⇴ WISDOM
With his advice, Yunhyeong always lets you know that he’s there for you and supporting you whatever you choose to do.
X ⇴ XXXX
Above all else, you love receiving hugs from Yunhyeong as they are incredibly comforting. He knows exactly how to hold onto you to make you feel as if you’re not along and try and put the smile onto your face.
Y ⇴ YOU
You were his number one, no one else came close to toppling you off.
Z ⇴ ZZZ
Most of the time you would stay at Yunhyeong’s if you wanted to spend the evening together. He loved inviting you over and using that as an excuse to cook for you and make sure that you were well fed.

Destiny Chapter 2 – Too Far Away
Tumblr media
Preview
Mini Masterlist
Characters:  Song Yunhyeong (iKON), You (Reader/OC), cameo of Blackpink’s Lisa and a mention of Kwon Jiyong
Genre/s:  Angst, Soulmate!AU
Length:  5,165 words
Warning/s:  Pure Angst, mentions of terminal illness, etc.
Plot:  6,799 – The digital compass on your left inner wrist flashes in front of your eyes every time you wake up in the morning, and it just stays there for the rest of the day.  You do know that your soulmate is too far away – thinking that he must be residing on the other side of the world.  You waited for him to find you, but he seems like he didn’t make any move to find you, at all.  Until, one day, your friend encouraged you to find him.
A/N:  This is pure angst, you’ve been warned.  Please read with caution.  Also, I did bend a soulmate rule here, so yeah, it adds to the caution I guess. Let me know what you think!!!
6,799.
Sometimes a few miles will be added or deducted here and there, but whenever you are inside the comforts of your own small apartment, the digital compass that indicates how far your soulmate is, is stuck in that number.
The numbers on your inner wrist initially appeared when you were a freshman in high school, like majority of your friends and your classmates, however you were the only one who had a number that is greater than a thousand miles, which disappointed you back then, because the others were merely hundreds of miles away, it means that they can always go see their soulmate even if they’re just students.
Due to school and your family not having much money, you didn’t dare ask if you travel to the other side of the world to meet your soulmate.  In fact, you were barely legal, so it would me much more of an inconvenience for your parents more than you.  So, you just waited.  Some of your friends said that since he is the guy, then he must be the one to go find you, not you, since you are a lady and there is no way that you would follow a guy, even though he was your soulmate.
Back then, you believed them.
Sadly, until now.
As you lie awake in your bed, staring at the numbers as if they are permanent tattoos on your wrist, you sighed, thinking as to why your soulmate didn’t even make a move to come for you.  It has been 10 years or so since the internal compass appeared, and you are pretty much legal already, and you assume that he is the same, you hope.
Life has been okay for you, to say the least.  You are finishing college and about to graduate in a few months on the course that you have been wanting to pursue since you were little.  You have a small apartment that you share with your best friend since college started, your parents are still running the small restaurant a few blocks away from your home and about 3 hours of bus ride from your apartment, and your only brother will enter the same university in a few months.
You are pretty much contented with how your life is going.  You are sure that you can secure a good job after graduation because of your grades, so you didn’t worry much about that.  However, what kept you up and thinking a little too much is, well, if you cannot emphasize it further, the numbers.
You tried to keep it on the low down when you are with your family, brushing off any of their questions if your soulmate had already come and find you, or are there any changes in the mile radius at all, etc.  Its same old, same old.  You got tired eventually, just telling them that you are okay living by yourself and you are 100% fine, and they should not worry about you.
But, whenever you are alone in your thoughts, especially on your favorite bed with the only source of light being the small lamp at the bed side table on your right, you do know that you totally mind.
You sometimes wonder, are they doing okay? Are they thinking about you and how you look like?  Do they even want to meet you?  Do they even want to be known?  They never attempted to move and find you, so what else can you think about?  You sometimes thought that they might be dead, but you do know that once they’re dead, the numbers will totally be gone from your inner wrist, which is not the case.
“Thinking about your soulmate again?”  Your best friend, Lauren, came in to the door, and you immediately slide down the bed, hiding both of your arms beneath your comforter.
“You should really learn how to knock.”
Lauren just snorted and you roll your eyes at her, but you moved to the side of the bed, allowing your friend to scoot next to you, half lying on the bed as she leans her body towards your direction.
“If you really want to meet him, why don’t you find him?”
Lauren has been bringing this topic up since forever, but you would always say that it is not possible because of your hectic timetable at school and your part-time job.  So you just gave her the same answer.
“Hmm, ______, in case you still don’t know, we’re graduating in a month and we already had our clearance and final grades covered, so we are technically on holiday…”  It was her turn to roll her eyes dramatically and letting out whines of disappointment as to why you had forgotten about it.
“I know, but… I shouldn’t be the ones looking for him, right?  He should because he is the man!”  You pouted and Lauren just looked at you with disbelief.
“You still believe that thing that your friends and family told you?”  She flicks your forehead and you whined in pain, you were about to retaliate but Lauren held her hand up, silently telling you to shut it.
“______, we are at the new age, if the girl is the one who decided to find her soulmate, it doesn’t make the guy less of a person. What if he has some personal issues he needed to deal with that’s why he cannot go out and find you himself? There should be a reason behind it, ______, you need to find out or else it’s going to stress you out all the time.”
“But – how will I do that, I don’t even know where exactly he is?”
“What is the use of the internet and laptop for? Seriously, how did you pass college with that brain?”
This time you didn’t stop yourself when you whack a pillow on your best friend’s face.
The next morning, you were at the kitchen counter waiting for the coffee to brew and for your bread to toast.  Lauren is long gone since she had an early morning class, so she’s already running to the door when you went out of your room.
You two did stay up quite late last night trying to search for a place that would match the distance on your wrist.  The result that appeared didn’t really bring much of a shock to you, but you’re still a little worried since it really is far from where you are, you sure did see a few photos and had read about it being really beautiful.
“Lauren, that is too far.”
“Obviously, its more than 6000 miles.”
“What if he doesn’t like me?  What if he pushes me away once I get there?”
“You will not know until you get there.”  She switches over to a website to check flights, hotels, and car rentals in the area and your eyes widened and you placed your hand atop hers on the mouse.
“Lauren, wait –“
“______ -“  Your best friend looks at you and you were taken aback when you saw the concern and worry in her eyes.
“I swear, you are going to worry about this forever, you not meeting your soulmate.  It is not that you wanted to worry all the time, but that is your inborn reaction to it.  Remember when I tried to avoid Jake when I found out he is my soulmate because Karen had a crush on her?”  You bit your lower lip at the memory, yes, you had seen how Lauren was like, and Jake too, since you are sharing majority of your classes with him.  You remember how Jake would always ask you where Lauren is but since Lauren asked you to not tell him anything about her whereabouts. Your best friend was equally devastated, not eating and sleeping well and just staring at her wrist all the time.
“______, I don’t want you to be like that for the rest of your life.” She runs her hands on your exposed shoulder.
“At least if you get to see him, you’ll be able to meet him, you can ask him anything you want to, you would know the answers to the questions that has been eating you up ever since…”  You looked away, not knowing how to respond to her.
“And since he is your soulmate, you might finally find your forever in him, and you won’t be forever alone, just like how you deem you will be.”
You let out a huge sigh just as the coffee brewed completely and your toast has popped out of the machine.  You grabbed the mug and the toast, putting them on a plate before scurrying to the kitchen table.
You didn’t stop Lauren when she booked you a flight to the country where your soulmate is, as well as a hotel room for 3 nights and a car rental good for 4 days, in case you and your soulmate would want to stroll around.  She had paid for your flight tickets so you really cannot argue much.  Also, you didn’t really have any plans before graduation anyway.
Deep inside, you are happy.  You will be seeing your soulmate in a few days, and you will know how they look like, and you will finally unravel the truth behind the uncertainties lingering in your head for the last 10 years.
However – you are also worried, maybe more worried than happy to be honest.  What if he doesn’t really want to meet you that’s why he didn’t try finding you in the first place?  What if all of this is just a waste of time and you were just mistaken?  You shake the uneasy feeling off and just started eating your breakfast; thinking that it’s better to just think of how you can pack for a trip on the other side of the world for four days and three nights.
“Let me know how it goes, okay?”  Lauren whispers against your ear when your parents were out of earshot.  You told them that you are going on a business trip from the company where you had an internship so they were more than happy to let you go, telling you to buy them some stuff from that country as presents.
You glanced at your ticket and passport one more time before boarding, this is really it, and I’m finally meeting my soulmate.  You took a deep breath and smiled at yourself, thinking of sleeping the entire 16-hour non-stop flight so that you’ll have enough rest before finding your soulmate.
Guess who got sleep.  Well, maybe your seatmate who had been drooling for the last 14 hours, but certainly not you.
You watched in amusement as the numbers gradually decrease on your inner wrist as the hours go by.  In 2 hours, you will be landing, and you are sure that the numbers will just be in two digits by the time you went out of the local airport.
250.
You never thought that you will be seeing this in your entire life, ever.  You had lost sleep and tiredness the moment you see the numbers drop, but you didn’t mind, you are more than happy than you’ve ever been before.
Since you left home in the afternoon and there is a crazy difference on the time between your country and your soulmate’s, you arrived at the local airport at 10:00 AM.  When the representative from the car rental company welcomed you, she offered to drive you to your hotel as a courtesy, despite you saying no, she insisted, already opening the door to the passenger seat after you’d settled your luggage at the compartment.
The distance on your wrist had lowered to 80 as the woman drive all the way to the hotel where you’ll be staying.  Your heartbeat is erratic and you need to clutch your chest to try to calm it down a bit.  Hopefully the woman will not notice how uneasy you are the entire ride.
When you get to the hotel room after bidding the woman good bye and checking in, you gasped when the mile radius is now down to 50. It means that your soulmate will just be about a few hours away.
You wanted to get to where he’s at right at that moment, but your body felt exhausted because of the long flight, so you decided to take a shower, order some food before getting some much needed rest, opting to go find your soulmate tomorrow morning instead.
You were all dressed up and your light make up is done as you stare at the mirror, your bag on one hand and your keys at the other.
You are really doing this, you are going to see him, whoever he is.  Is he looking for you too?  Is he feeling giddy or happy that the numbers on his wrist are dropping too?  Does he even notice it?  Does he even know that his soulmate is just about a few miles away?
You took a deep breath, calming your thoughts and your slightly shaking body.  There is no backing out now.  You stared at yourself through the mirror and promised yourself that whatever the outcome of this whole adventure is, you will accept it and you will happy.  Though at the deeper part of your heart, you want this to end in a good way.
The compass seemed to have an additional feature that you never get to learn before, because it suddenly included the north, east, west, and south options at the bottom part.  You guess that this might be something unique to those who have their soulmates nearby.
You used it as a guide as you drive your way along the streets of an unknown territory, finding an unknown person, the path you’re taking slightly dangerous but the excitement ran heavily against your veins, the idea that your soulmate will just a few minutes away, thrilled you, both in a good and bad way.
You turned left, then right, then just straight ahead, the word north had been constant and unchanging for the last 30 minutes, the mile radius dropping continuously.  You halted when the only number you can see is 0.1, surprised that you got there pretty fast.
You looked around, the area is obviously commercial, and so you’re thinking that your soulmate might be working on one of the establishments.  However the one next to your car and the closest too, is something that you are not expecting to see.
A hospital.
Alright.  Maybe he is a doctor?  Or a nurse? A medical staff?
You took another deep breath when drove to the allotted parking space not too far from the street where you came from.  You stepped out of your car, walking towards the hospital building and the word left appeared on your wrist.  You walked to your left, after a few steps, the distance dropped to 0.07.  You continued walking, the compass telling you to turn right, so you went ahead, and you were welcomed by a few private rooms, you even saw a patient going out of the room accompanied by a nurse.  You walked straight, your knees wobbling slightly and your heart about to burst out of your chest.  You took deep, slow breaths to calm yourself down.
0.03. Right.
You met another corner and you can feel sweat beading on your forehead.  You quickly wiped it with your handkerchief before letting out another huge breath.
This is it.
You turned left, only to be welcomed by a set of tall, glass doors with a huge sign printed on top.
ONCOLOGY.
You stopped abruptly, causing you to bump against a hurrying hospital staff and you apologized to her, and she bowed but continued walking past you, scurrying to get inside quickly.
Thoughts are running through your head and you are thinking whether you should continue or not.
However, Lauren’s words lingered on your head, reminding you of your purpose.  You already came this far, there’s not backing out now.  No matter what welcomes you, good or bad, you will accept it, and you’ll take it.
You just hope that it is something good, at least.
You walked through the glass doors, slowly, dragging your shaking limbs towards the clean, white walled hallway.  The compass says north, so you continued heading straight ahead, seeing a couple of more doors painted with either cream or dull orange colors, with a small window to peak at, partnered with a small shelf on the wall to its right, indicating the room number, name of the patient, and the doctor in charge.
The compass on your inner wrist sent a dull, burning feeling when it finally hit zero and you froze, in front of you is a door a little bigger than the rest that you’ve seen, and the color is a bright red.  You took a few steps towards the door, looking at the shelf to the right to read the details.
121
Patient: Yunhyeong, Song
Attending Oncologist:  Jiyong, Kwon
Attending Nurse:  Manobal, Lisa
 Oh.  Okay.
You started to wonder, who among the two is your soulmate?
You took another deep breath, you will finally know the answer once you enter that door.
You can do this, ______.  Just do it.
You are about to open the door when, all of a sudden, a tall, lean girl went out of the room on her nurse uniform.  She must be the attending nurse.
“Hey, can I help you?”  She said in English, figuring that you are not a local.  You looked at her brown, round eyes as you try to formulate a response, are you just going to say that you are here because you are looking for your soulmate?  You know that it is not a weird thing, because it is common, but you can’t help but feel a little embarrassed and worried.
“I –I’m,” You cleared your throat and introduced yourself, fiddling with the sleeve of your coat, tugging it upwards unconsciously.
“Oh, hi, ______.  My name is Lalisa, but I preferred to be called Lisa, I am the attending nurse for the patient in this room.  Do you know him by any chance?”  She says with a smile as bright as sun.  You bit your lower lip before fixing your gaze at the ground.
“Ugh, I might, but… also maybe not.  Uhm… is the… attending Oncologist inside this room too?”
“Oh, Doctor Kwon?  No, he is at the other building doing a surgery… It’s just Yunhyeong who’s inside.  Are you looking for Doctor Kwon then?”
Your eyes widened in shock and slight disappointment.  It means that your soulmate is the guy named Song Yunhyeong… and he is a patient in the Oncology department of this hospital…  It only means one thing, right?
“______?”  Lisa’s voice snapped you out of your reverie, and you shook your head quickly.  Okay, he might be a patient here – but he must be healing, right?  He is here to heal anyway, so why worry so much?
“S-sorry…”  You trailed off as you tried to speak again.
“I – I know this may sound a little weird but…” You lifted your left arm before tugging the sleeve down, revealing the digital compass on your inner wrist.  “I hope… this explains things?”  You whispered and nibbled on your bottom lip as you stared at the woman in front of you.  She looked at your wrist thoroughly and she smiled a little before shaking her head slightly.
“I guess that’s the reason why he’s been up all night.”  She murmured before letting out a breath.  “Follow me.”  She held the door open, gesturing for you to come in and you looked at her nervously, but she just smiled at you before tilting her head to the side.  You stepped in to the room, and you paused midway as you look at the young man dressed in a hospital suit, standing in front of the ceiling to floor glass windows overlooking the hospital’s garden and mini park.
“You’re back right a-“  Yunhyeong turned around and was cut off when his eyes captured a new face inside his room.
“Ah!”  He gasped when he felt the numbers on his wrist burn a little, just like how it was a few minutes before Lisa stepped out of the room.  He looked up and the girl was also rubbing her inner wrist, and realization hit him then.
When Yunhyeong also rubbed his inner wrist, you know it was him.  You stared at the young man, he is handsome, his tall nose and perfectly sketched jaw – the sunlight from the windows beaming at him and he looks like an angel.  Your eyes started to water and you smiled at him, you didn’t notice that you are already running towards his direction.  He was taken aback when he felt your arms around him, burying your face against his chest as you started to sob against it.
Yunhyeong cannot deny that he felt his heart soften when he sees you, he knows that you are the one, the one who’s meant to be his other half forever.  However, he thinks that not everything that fate and symbols indicate are really meant to be.
You gasped when you finally realized that you are hugging him.  He might be your soulmate, but he is technically still a stranger.  You cursed internally and, embarrassed, you pulled away slowly, wiping your tear-stained face before taking a few steps back.
“S-sorry – I was just… uhm.”  You rubbed the back of your neck and the young man did the same, but he smiled at you.
“I-It’s okay…”  He said shyly and you looked up to him.
“I – you might already know who I am, I mean, who I am but not my name…”  You ranted.  “I’m ______, I am your-“
“Soulmate, yes, I know.”  He smiles again and you figured that it is one of the best and most beautiful smiles you’ve ever seen.
“Y-yeah…”  You confirmed before looking away.
“______!”  Lisa’s voice interrupted the awkward silence surrounding you and Yunhyeong, and you accepted the distraction.  “Why don’t you sit at the chair next to the bed?  Yunhyeong go sit there, you know you cannot stand up for too long, right?” Lisa pursed her lips together and you are not sure but you did see a glimmer at her eyes and Yunhyeong pouted at her cutely.  Oh.
“No buts, just-just sit there, you two cannot talk like that the whole time.”  She guided you to sit on the chair allotted for visitors, just next to the head of the bed, your soulmate trailing behind.
Yunhyeong sat on the edge of the bed, a few steps away from you.  Lisa smiled at the two of you and about to leave the room, but Yunhyeong grabbed her hand, pulling her back, intertwining their fingers together.  Oh.
“Yunhyeong –“
“Stay.”  He looks up to her and Lisa looked at you, her expression sad and you are confused, your eyebrows are furrowed and your palms are pressed together on your lap.
“Yun – you two need to talk alone, I can’t be here.”
“But – I need you to be here.  She needs to know.”  Your soulmate muttered and you haven’t realized that your whole body is trembling, the fear that you’ve been trying to bury deep within your guts is slowly creeping out of its grave, crawling towards the forefront of your brain.
Shit, hold your shit together, you don’t know yet, allow them to explain.
Yunhyeong’s eyes meet yours and you almost break down right then there when the look on his eyes is teary, and apologetic.
“______…”  He trails off as he grips Lisa’s hand tighter, despite the other woman struggling to remove it from his grip, looking away.  His other hand went to settle on your tensed shoulder, making you flinch and Yunhyeong pulled his hand away altogether.
“A-are you and Lisa, together?”  You looked at him after letting out a shaky breath and his eyes drifted to the ground, before he nods.
“Yun –“
“We are married…”  Yunhyeong continues, holding both of his and Lisa’s hands up high to reveal the matching diamond rings they have on their ring fingers, making you choke on our own spit, the burning feeling at the middle of your chest is slowly spreading all throughout your body as you tried to hold back the tears that are brimming on your eyelids.
“I really need to go, Yunhyeong – I’m sorry, ______, I – will come back a little later.  Yun, just… just talk to her.”  Lisa blinked away a few tears on her eyes before scrambling to get her stuff and walking out of the room, leaving you and your soulmate alone.
“I-is she the reason why you never looked for me?” You tried to sound adamant, but you completely failed.  Why did he marry a girl who’s not his soulmate?  “Isn’t that, I don’t know, against fate?”  You laughed a little, your voice laced with a little venom that you never really intended, but it still come out.
“P-Partly…”  Yunhyeong said and you looked at him.  Before you even get to ask, he continues.
“I’m dying, ______.”
Right.
If knowing that your soulmate is married to someone else is already devastating, this one sure did shatter your heart to millions of pieces.
“I’ve been diagnosed with bone cancer since I was little…”  He lifts his hand as he tries to open and close his fist.  “The doctors are surprised I made it this far…”  He chuckles a bit.  “But I guess I only had to make it this far.”  He lets out a sad laugh.  “I had three transplants over the last 10 years, but it didn’t help much.  It only added years to my life, but, eventually, my body is slowly giving up on me, until I cannot take it anymore.”  He looks at you and you held the sheets at the side of the bed to hold yourself together.
“I’m sorry.  I wanted to find you before, but I thought that it just doesn’t make sense since I will die anyway.  I never knew that you will – you will try looking for me.  I’m sorry if I…”  He bites his lower lip and you closed your eyes.  “I disappointed you.”
“It’s okay…”  You are disappointed, but you are, at the same time, sad that the fate of your soulmate is like this.  He looks really young, probably just about your age, and he has a terminal illness. He may not be with you, but it will be better to learn that he will live a longer time with someone that he really loves.  You also thought that if you tried finding him sooner, like Lauren had suggested, you might have been with him, instead of Lisa.
The way he looks at Lisa is something that you had secretly hoped he would look at you before you met him.  The way he holds her hands firmly, and the way he begs for her to be with him.
You secretly wanted that.
You were speechless when you felt Yunhyeong’s arms wrap around your shoulders, pulling your head against his chest and you gave your everything to not bawl your eyes out.  You bite your lower lip so hard, you pressed your toes against the tiled floor, and you squeezed your hands together, you will not cry, especially not in front of him.  You tried to keep a little pride to yourself, to show your soulmate that you are okay, chanting the phrase that you and Lauren had practiced before you get on to your flight, no matter how this turns out, you will accept it whole-heartedly.
Yunhyeong pulls away before cupping your face.
“I hope you’ll find someone who will love and take care of you for the rest of your life…”  He wipes a single tear that left your right eye without you knowing before pressing a light kiss on your forehead.  “You deserve it.”  He murmurs and you find yourself nodding, wrapping your fingers around his wrists.
“Thank you, Yunhyeong…”  You chuckled before looking up to him.  “I am… just happy that I finally get to meet you and know who you are.”  You helped him sit down on the bed when you saw him wobble on his steps back.
“I sincerely am happy that… I get to meet you… Honestly I will be happier if… the situation is better… but I am happy nonetheless…”  You smiled at him and he smiles back.
“Thank you.  I’m happy that I met you too, I am sorry again if I made you travel thousands of miles away only to find out that your soulmate is dying… and married.”  He bows his head and you shake your head, lifting the boy’s chin to meet your gaze.
“Don’t be sorry, it’s not your fault.  I am happy, I promised myself that however this… journey turns out, I will be happy, for myself, and for you.”  You kissed both of his cheeks and Yunhyeong blushes and he nods.
“______?”  He asks and you looked at him.
“Once the numbers completely fade away, you would know that… I’m already gone.”  He says and you felt your heart drop to your stomach, but you kept it to yourself. You nodded and pulled away, grabbing your purse from the chair and smiling at him.
“I… I actually really needed to head back to the hotel, I didn’t have much time here since graduation is nearing…”  You fiddled with your phone that you got from the purse before looking at him.
“And my flight back home is tomorrow morning…” You tittered half-heartedly and Yunhyeong nods, understanding.
“I… I hope you’ll get well soon, Yunhyeong… and you take care, okay?”  You waved at him with a heavy heart.  You did try to look at this kind of scenario happening, but it is 10x more hurtful that what you imagined.
“Bye, ______.”  He waves back and you walk your way out of the room, your limbs gaining speed until you are running out of the building, towards your parked car and you finally let the dam broke when you stepped in to the driver’s seat, burying your face against the steering wheel, crying your guts out at the least expected outcome of this whole journey.
The next morning, you had requested to move your flight that afternoon, there is no point of staying longer anyway.  You had packed your bags and when you go over your purse to get your card out for check out, you felt a cold, thin steel grazing your fingers, which made you confused, you know that you put all your jewelry inside the box, which you put inside your luggage.
You took it out, and you gasped when you saw a gold chained necklace with a pendant.  You held it up to a clearer view of what the pendant looks like.  You held your mouth when you felt fresh tears on your eyes.

Uhm first I wanna say I’m sorry if this is not a happy ending >< Please stay tuned on the sequel soon!  I guess you already for which member will it be hahaha!

“We don’t have much time,” Yunhyeong said, nearly ripping your jeans off of you in his haste. “My roommate will be back in an hour.”
You hadn’t planned to see him today, but Yunhyeong grabbed you – almost literally – when you were on your way home from the campus library, telling you that he missed you and asking if you were free. Which was just a courtesy, really, considering that he was already pulling you towards his dorm.
You wouldn’t have objected anyway, truth be told – you missed him, too. But hearing that you were running on limited time did frustrate you a little.
Nevertheless, you propped yourself up on your elbows, helping him rid you of the denim as his old bed creaked underneath both of your weights.
“I thought he had classes the whole day,” you commented. “And so did you.”
“I’m skipping all of mine,” Yunhyeong replied, tossing your jeans aside and reconnecting your lips in a—hurried—feverish kiss. You broke the kiss another second later to pull his shirt over his head. “And he’s only going to one.”
“The asshole,” you said.
“Right?” he agreed, only half-listening as he rolled you on top of him, until you were straddling his waist. “Come here.”
You lowered your lips to meet his again, finally able to enjoy the moment without worrying about tearing your clothes off of each other as quickly as possible. He kissed you back, cherishing in the familiar taste of your mouth, and struggling—as always—to believe that you’d done this enough times for your taste to become familiar.
Suddenly, you distracted him from his thoughts by bringing your hips over his, the layers of your underwear not providing nearly enough friction for this to feel as good as it could. And yet, in spite of that, a low groan passed his lips, his hands flying to your thighs in an almost desperate attempt to keep you steady while also encouraging you to, please, do that again.
And you complied – your bodies communicating wordlessly – as you rolled your hips into his once again, biting your lip when you felt the growing bulge underneath you. Your faces were inches apart, mouths hovering over each other, as your hips continued to grind into his slowly, the sensation as teasing as it was pleasurable.
“I’m going to need you to take these off now,” Yunhyeong whispered against your lips, hooking his fingers over the waistband of your panties. “We don’t have much time.”
“So impatient,” you rolled your eyes – the playful gesture only killing him a little more, while the pressure of your hips on his hardening length when you sat up, could have easily finished him off right then and there. “We should have gone to my place.”
“So that your neighbors can call the police on us again? No, thank you,” he scoffed while his eyes followed your every move – from the way you lifted your hips slightly to be able to pull your underwear down, to the way you brought one of your legs up, then the next one, and, finally, slid the panties down your right ankle. He swallowed.
“They meant well,” you said, giggling as you remembered the awkward altercation a few months ago when the police showed up to your dorm – at a very inconvenient moment, too – on behalf of your concerned next-door neighbor. She’d assumed—from the sounds? You weren’t sure— that you were getting killed. “In her defense, using ropes in a dorm room probably wasn’t the wisest idea.”
Yunhyeong laughed – the sound coming out strained when you lowered yourself on him again, your naked core brushing against his boxers; still one layer too many between you – before he sat up to meet your lips in a kiss, too impatient to wait.
“We’re trying that again, though,” he said then, hands gently dancing on your shoulders and down the straps of your bra, inching towards the clasp on your back. “Probably in a place with less neighbors.”
Knowing that you would likely never find a secluded enough spot without any people around, you gasped, purposefully overreacting. “You’re suggesting we do that in public?”
Yunhyeong lifted an eyebrow in response because that wasn’t exactly what he was suggesting, but now that you’d mentioned it, he wasn’t really against the idea.
“Might as well try,” he replied, his mind growing hazy as he focused on the feeling of your nearly naked body pressed against his. He still hadn’t mastered the clasp of your bra and you had to reach up to help him.
The moment your fingertips met as you undid your bra, Yunhyeong kissed you again. He refused to let you take your bra off yourself, and took control of the process – sliding each strap down your arms as if you had all the time in the world for this.
“Hmm,” you hummed against his lips, pulling away to warn him, “I thought we were in a hurry.”
Dreamily, Yunhyeong continued the slow, sensual process of removing your bra, the tips of his fingers brushing gently against your breasts once the garment was finally off. He always turned this simple act – that you would have preferred to get over with as quickly as possible; bras weren’t exactly known for being comfortable – into something that was akin to a grandiose procedure that he refused to skip over.
“We are,” he said. “But there are some things you can’t speed up.”
You scoffed at this, but the warmth of his words sent sparks all over your body – he’d always made it a big deal out of removing your clothes; the less there were left on you, the slower he moved.
“Yunhyeong,” you were forced to whine then – he may have been hoping for it – as he caressed your body, his hands not really lingering anywhere very long as he attempted to touch as much of you as possible.
This wasn’t the first time you were having sex, and yet he always made it feel as special as that first time. You didn’t mind that, especially since your first time with Yunhyeong had happened when both of you were drunk, so the memory of it was very blurry in your head. But, as much as you appreciated the care he put into everything he did, you wanted more now.
Pushing his chest gently with your hands, you forced him to fall back on the pillow. The small gasp that left his lips when you suddenly took charge of the situation was quickly replaced by a proud smirk, prompted by your impatience. You ignored it and, instead, pulled down his boxers, making sure to touch him as lightly as possible – on purpose, to tease him right back for taking this so slowly before.
“We’re in a hurry,” he was the one to remind you this time.
Ah, you’d been waiting for this.
With your hand barely grazing the tip of his length, you shrugged your shoulders. “Some things you can’t speed up.”
Yunhyeong rolled his eyes – or tried to – but he was forced to throw his head back and close his eyes altogether when you wrapped one of your hands against his fully-hard cock and gave it a few lazy pumps.
His sensitivity to your touch was one of your favorite things about doing this. Every time you doubted if it was a good decision to include sex in your friendship, you remembered the look on his face, like the one right now: his lower lip between his teeth, his eyes barely open but firmly locked on you, his chest rising and falling in anticipation of what you’d do next – and you knew you really wouldn’t have it any other way.
When your grasp on his length got tighter and your strokes more sensual, Yunhyeong groaned and reached out to stop you, the muscles in his stomach clenching as he sat up and placed his hands on yours. He pressed his lips to yours in a messy, open-mouthed kiss – deciding that not a lot of talking was going to be done from now on – and you leaned into him, allowing him to guide you to the previous position you’d been in: with your thighs on either side of him, your core pressed dangerously close to his length.
He brought one of his hands to your neck to angle your face in a way that allowed him to deepen the kiss. In the mean time, his free hand found your clit as he experimented by bringing his fingers up and down your folds, spreading your wetness and, of course, teasing you until he felt you exhale against his mouth in frustration.
“Yunhyeong,” you spoke, a certain warning noticeable in your otherwise soft voice. He moved his lips to your neck instead. “I’m going to get up and leave if you don’t do something right now.”
He chuckled and the feeling of his teeth against the skin of your neck sent shivers down your spine.
“Fine,” he said then, pressing one more lingering kiss to your neck before reaching over to the drawer on his nightstand. “I thought the risk of getting caught was supposed to feel thrilling.”
“Well, if your roommate does come back soon,” you replied, watching him grab a condom package from his drawer and rip it open, “I’d rather he interrupted us when we were actually doing something.”
Yunhyeong paused for a second to give you a questionable look after you said this, but he decided not to argue, focusing on the more important things at hand.
“But we are doing something,” he said instead, teasing, as he tossed the wrapper on the floor.
“Something more,” you said – pointlessly so, because he was already rolling the condom down his length, his hands shaking lightly. He wanted this just as much as you – if not more – but his excitement was getting the best of him; he never did learn how to completely calm his nerves when he was alone with you.
Finally, he brought his hands down to your hips, slowly moving your body back and forth on his lap, your fold rubbing against his cock, the motion undoubtedly pleasant, but not enough.
When you were about to open your mouth and urge him to do something, Yunhyeong finally lifted your body up just a little and aligned himself with your entrance. His eyes met yours as he pushed the tip in and then stopped, keeping his hands on your thighs, but allowing you to choose the pace.
You lowered yourself on him, the stretch as sweet as it was painful. You closed your eyes at the feeling, so you did not see the absolute adoration in his eyes when you bottomed out. The blissful expression on your face was heaven itself right now and Yunhyeong momentarily forgot that you could also move, further intensifying the emotions he was feeling.
You held onto his shoulders as you ground your hips into his slowly, your walls warm and snug around him. His teeth sunk into his lower lip as he watched your concentrated face and responded to the gentle swaying of your body by bucking his hips – just barely, really, but you felt it, your head automatically falling backwards, heavy breaths leaving your lips.
“That’s—” you started to say, pressing your hips into his harder, faster. “That’s good.”
“Yeah?” he asked – or perhaps agreed with you, it was hard to tell when he tried to muffle his own moans – and then he leaned in closer to you until his chest hit yours, and his cock changed the angle inside of you, suddenly feeling much deeper.
A quiet gasp left your lips at this new, sharper sensation, and Yunhyeong gave you a second to adjust before he lifted your hips and lowered them on his length again, slowly enough so you wouldn’t be in pain, but with enough force so you’d feel all of him. He did everything in an encouraging way, not trying to be in full control and letting you do most of the work as you steadily began to move on top of him.
You felt him so deep inside that you couldn’t help exhaling shakily as you squeezed your closed eyes even tighter. You wrapped your hands around his shoulders to find a more comfortable position, this way bringing your bodies even closer, so that there wasn’t a single spot of your skin that wasn’t touching his.
He was restraining himself on your behalf, that much was clear in the way he kissed the side of your neck, focusing his attention elsewhere, so he wouldn’t start pounding into you.
Letting him know that you could handle it, you removed one of your hands from his neck. You placed your hand on his and lifted it from your hips to your lower back – so he was still holding you, but no longer had the opportunity to control how fast you moved – and then you returned to holding onto his shoulders as you began to bounce on him, gradually gaining speed until his kisses turned into soft groans against your neck.
“Fuck,” you moaned, louder now that the feeling of his throbbing length rubbing against your walls had grown more intense.
He held you against him, his hand wrapping around your waist for more support, while his other hand slid down to grab your ass, squeezing and kneading it as you continued to ride him.
“You feel so good, baby,” he panted, struggling to catch his breath as you alternated between grinding your hips into his and then moving up and down on his length again.
“Hmmm,” was all you could muster in response as Yunhyeong moved his hips to meet yours halfway, your bodies locked together in a well-choreographed dance, the only music in the room being the sound of your skin slapping against each other to the rhythm of your heavy breaths.
You’ve done this before with him – countless times – and yet each time he held you as close as this, his hands squeezing the softest parts of your body and his length drilling into you, you were still surprised by how good this could feel.
“I-I’m—” you tried, the words dying on your tongue and transforming into a desperate, wordless plea when you felt his kisses on your collarbones, then on your chest, until finally his mouth found one of your nipples, his tongue gentle and electrifying all at once. “Oh, please.”
He hummed, the sensation reverberating pleasantly all across your body as he moved to your other breast, starting off with butterfly kisses all around it before finally bringing his tongue over your nipple, sucking on it lightly and pulling away with a wet kiss.
Overwhelmed by pleasure, you had no choice but to relent to him as he began to thrust up into you, his hands holding you in place. His pace did not slow down once – he’d gotten enough practice to know the right way to throw you off the edge – as he gripped your thighs, his cock going in and out of you.
“S-so close,” you spoke shakily, your body seemingly a separate entity from your mind now.
With another soft moan, you caught Yunhyeong off-guard when you met his thrusts by rotating your hips in quick, clumsy figure-8s.
Sex between the two of you was always a battle for control – although neither of you minded sharing – but he did not object right now, far too lost in the feeling of being inside of you. And yet the circular motions of your hips were so sweet, he was starting to get worried he’d be the one coming first.
His breath catching in his throat, Yunhyeong licked his lips and watched you, in awe. You looked and you felt so warm, so soft, so perfect – he couldn’t control himself anymore.
“So good to me,” he praised, completely overwhelmed by the feeling of your snug walls squeezing him, and absolutely intoxicated from the way you looked as you chased your high. “Oh, fuck, I love you. S-so much.”
Too lost in the feeling, you didn’t fully register his words – or perhaps you did, but they sounded so fitting in this moment, you found nothing weird with them – and, therefore, you were only able to whimper in response, moving your hips against his faster.
“Fuck,” he whispered, half-aware of what he’d just said, but much, much more aware of the way you were clenching around him, and the increasing sound of your breathing as you inched closer to the edge.
“I’m going to—” you got cut off when he brought a hand between you, rubbing fast circles on your clit with the tips of his fingers as you continued to grind your hips against his. “Ah—! Going to—”
“Come for me,” he whispered lowly. “I got you. F-fuck—”
Moaning loudly when the intense wave of pleasure washed over your body, you thrashed in his arms, but Yunhyeong kept a tight grip on you as his fingers continued to work on your clit.
Gasping for air, you dug your fingertips into his skin, feeling so full, so comfortable, so good. Your hips had stilled against his, except for a few sporadic, uncontrollable twitches – that made him see white – as you came down from your high.
“Baby,” he groaned, struggling to hold himself back any longer when your walls continued to squeeze around his length, the feeling so blissful—and so dangerous—he came faster than he would have liked or expected.
Loud groans left his mouth as he thrust into you hard and fast one more time, the sound of your ecstatic whimpers only urging him on. Bottoming out with his final thrust, he emptied himself into the condom with an unintelligible sound, comprised of your name and how good you made him feel.
He was breathless and had to use one of his hands to lean against the wall, so he wouldn’t topple over you or knock you both off the bed – it’d happened before; he was not proud of it – as he tried to return to reality.
You were still recovering, a strange—but not unwelcome—buzzing in your ears from your high. You watched Yunhyeong curse as he thrust into you leisurely a few more times before finally pulling out and letting go of you, albeit very reluctantly.
The two of you stayed still for a second, your bodies still just as close, even if he wasn’t inside of you anymore. And yet even through you were breathing the exact same rhythm, even though your eyes could not look away from each other, cherishing in the afterglow, neither one of you could bring yourselves to kiss the other. Even though you wanted to. Really, really wanted to.
Traces of anxiety were slowly making its’ way to both of your faces. Or, rather, now that you weren’t too focused on something else, you were able to realise that this anxiety had been there from the moment Yunhyeong said those words; you just didn’t want to think about what it meant at the time.
Now, bringing his tongue over his lips, Yunhyeong pulled away from your body first – so he could discard of the condom. When he sat back down on his bed, he no longer lifted his eyes to look at you.
The confession hung heavy in the air as your breathing slowed. He wasn’t sure if he was more scared of you bringing it up, or not bringing it up.
Finally, you exhaled and leaned over the edge of the bed to reach for his discarded duvet. You wrapped it around yourself – not because you were chilly or uncomfortable, but simply because this worked as a sort of shield for when you finally said, “w-we should probably talk about—”
Yunhyeong inhaled so sharply, your sentence faded off in surprise. He got up to put his boxers back on and, taking advantage of the fact that he had his back to you, he replied quietly, “I don’t know what else to add to that.”
Your first – natural, fighting for survival – course of action was an attempt to make light of the situation.
“Was it a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing?” you asked, chuckling nervously. The chuckle was supposed to make this seem even less like a big deal, yet it became the reason why it was suddenly painful for Yunhyeong to turn around and face you again.
“No, I… uh,” he spoke hesitantly. There was really no way back now. “I meant it.”
Your thoughts – usually so long, complicated, and sometimes even difficult to understand – suddenly swarmed in your head in the form of three-word sentences: he meant it. He loved you. That was fine.
Progressing even further, the three-word sentences turned into questions, as your eyes frantically scanned the cheap linoleum flooring in his dorm room: what to say? How to—even—speak?
“Why, um—” you started, clearing your throat when your voice came out unexpectedly groggy. “Why don’t you want to talk about it, then?”
Sighing, Yunhyeong sat down on the bed next to you. “Because I know I ruined everything.”
He hadn’t realised it before – probably because he could always see clearer when you were with him – but it was actually surprisingly dim in his room. He’d closed the curtains after you came over, hiding you two from the afternoon sun and the campus outside. But it had gotten significantly darker now.
He was grateful for that. His face felt too warm and there was only so much of this warmth that he could blame on your previous activity – clearly, he had never been embarrassed after having sex with you, so this wouldn’t work here.
“You… didn’t ruin anything,” you said finally, but a full minute had passed before you spoke and Yunhyeong had already convinced himself that he was right. He’d inserted the finishing nails into the coffin of your friendship.
“I know we’d only agreed on sex, but I—you… well, this happened,” he continued, not sure why his words sounded like an excuse – and a very poor one, at that. He tried again, “I’m—”
The door of his room suddenly opened – so quickly, it nearly got thrown off the hinges – and both of you jumped in surprise.
“Thank fuck you’re home,” Yunhyeong’s roommate was saying – he was drenched; it was probably raining outside – as he tossed his head back to throw the hood of his sweatshirt off his head. When he lowered his face, his eyes widened in surprise at the sight of you two. “Shit. I’m sorry. I’ll leave.”
The boy didn’t give Yunhyeong a single second to come up with an excuse. He backed out of the room as quickly as he came in—barged in, really; even if this was, technically his room, too—closing the door behind him.
Yunhyeong hid his face behind his hands, standing up. “Well, fuck.”
The look on his roommate’s face as he backed out of the room – the relief to be home immediately replaced by downright terror – and Yunhyeong’s distressed reaction had you biting your lip to resist laughing, even despite the tension from the conversation you’d been having before you got interrupted.
“It’s okay!” you called out, hoping his roommate was close enough to the door to hear it. You doubted it, though. So, tossing the duvet off, you reached for your hoodie and told Yunhyeong, “I’m leaving.”
That sounded awfully final to him. In the ten seconds that it took for you to pull your hoodie over your head, Yunhyeong swore his heart almost stopped five times.
“Y-you are?” he asked, eager to see the look on your face. When your eyes finally met his again, there was nothing out of the ordinary in them – if anything, you seemed calmer now that you were no longer talking about what he’d said.
“Yeah,” you replied, standing up, and fishing your panties out from behind his office chair.
“But it’s raining,” Yunhyeong said lamely, shuffling on his feet as he watched you dress up and found the sight – much to his own confusion – just as tempting as when you were taking your clothes off.
“That’s fine,” you replied, looking for your jeans. Yunhyeong spotted them first, on the floor next to where he was standing, and tossed them to you. “Thanks. I have to get home anyway.”
He tried to remember – struggling, for some reason; despite always claiming that he never forgot a single moment from the days you’d spent together – if you always left in such a hurry, or if today was an exception.
“W-well,” he started, hoping that it would sound less desperate out loud than it did in his head, “can I call you later?”
You gave him an incredulous look as you pulled your jeans up your thighs. “Of course. We have plans for Saturday, remember?”
He did remember. In fact, it was the reason why he was so beside himself with anxiety right now – worried that your future plans were already canceled months into advance.
“We’re still on?” he asked. The fact that he sounded surprised squeezed your heart painfully.
You were glad not to speak of what had happened anymore. In just a few seconds, you had managed to convince yourself that you’d be able to move on from this like it was just a minor misunderstanding. But that was obviously just wishful thinking, brought on by a convenient distraction – Yunhyeong’s roommate, who was likely still waiting outside in the hall.
Regardless, there was nothing else you could say. You needed to clear your head or, actually, do the exact opposite of that and get mind-numbingly drunk.
“Of course we are,” you told Yunhyeong in a light voice – or, what you hoped to be, a light voice.
Wishful thinking or not, you and Yunhyeong had been friends since you started college two and a half years ago. You’d been sleeping together for less, but that wasn’t supposed to bring an end to the friendship part of this arrangement. It couldn’t.
So, you pressed a kiss to his cheek – like you always did – and stepped into your sneakers, leaning down to pull them over your heels.
Yunhyeong watched you smile at him one more time before you left his room – apologizing to his still horrified roommate as you went – and he was glad you didn’t bolt at the first given opportunity, but he still felt uneasy. What happened now? What would he have to do the next time he saw you?
And yet, despite all these questions swimming in his head, Yunhyeong focused on the fact that he would see you again tomorrow. He would see you, and talk to you, and even touch you -- even if it was in passing, when you said hello or when he bought you coffee and handed you the paper cup.
He would see you again, and all the rest didn’t matter much because he loved you, and he considered himself capable of keeping that love in check – or suffocating it altogether if that’s what you would have preferred – so long as he still got to be with you.

Back From The Military
Tumblr media
Headcannon
iKON x GN! Reader
A/N They're kinda lengthy about 250 - 300 words each because I got a bit carried away sorry about that ahah. I'd like to stress that this is fictional and if you don't like it move on and don't read.
Tumblr media
B.I - He comes home early in the morning; you’d just come off a night shift two hours before he got in. You wished you could have been there, but he understood. Not long after you had slipped in bed dozing off, did you feel the bed dip and a presence settle beside you? You knew it was your boyfriend, so you tried to make the effort to wake up some more despite how much sleep was trying to pull you back under. “Hey.” You croaked out; voice scratchy from sleep. “Go back to sleep” he murmured cuddling into you further. “Missed you” you confessed, stubbornly clinging to trying to be awake. It had been a while since you had last properly seen him after all, “I know. Missed you too, now go sleep.” He gently scolded, dropping a kiss on your head. Then dropping one on your lips as you sleepily pouted them up at him. He knew how tired you were but how much you wanted to be awake to talk to him however that could wait for later, he’s more than happy to just cuddle you feeling content and at peace with you back in his arms. You let yourself be pulled back into sleep, lulled by his presence and warmth. It felt good now knowing you didn’t have to sleep alone in your big bed, that he could now once again cuddle you to sleep, that you could just be wrapped up in his warm, loving, caring embrace knowing that you’d both sleep peacefully that night.
Jinhwan– Time was kind, although the length of the enlistment was long, it had actually gone by quick. His service was so close to being done and over now just a few more hours until you could see him again. You kept fussing over the decorations you had put up, balloons and banners to welcome him home, despite them already being perfect. Anything to stop you from keeping still as you were vibrating with too much excitement. He was due any minute now, his parents who were the first to see him, dropping him off. The sound of the code being punched into the door’s keypad echoed in the apartment and then it really hit home that he was back. You could barely stop your eyes welling up with tears when he walked in just overwhelmed by all the feelings, the longing, happiness, tinge of sadness for the time you’ve had to spend apart. “Don’t cry.” He said rushing over to you, to hold you tight in his arms. You shed a few more tears but sobered up quickly, not wanting to sob and snot all over him. “God, I missed you so fucking much.” You sighed; you were happy to have him back but also a little overwhelmed still – just a big mix mess of emotions. “I’m here now.” He said holding onto you tighter, knowing how much you missing him has been hell because he felt the same about you.
Yunhyeong –It was a tearful goodbye when he left, and an even more tearful time spent missing him. Not having your rock to come home to, to face life by your side was hard, after all, you were more or less living in two different worlds. Now even as you stood waiting with all respective people who had come along to reunite with their own people, you couldn’t help but curse mandatory military service. You had missed him terribly and were more than ready for the pain of missing him to go away as you stand awaiting your boyfriend to be released back to you. You didn’t have to wait long though, your eyes trained in on him like a hawk and you struggled your way through the crowd and jumped straight into his arms as soon as you broke free. His quick reflexes caught you in time, so you didn’t fall on your arse. Tight wasn’t the word you were more or less choking him with how tight you were hugging him, practically smothering him but with loving intent not murderous. “You have no idea how much I missed you.” He spoke beating you to it as you were going to say the exact same thing. “I’ve missed you more but okay.” You teased. “So glad it’s over now, don’t wanna see you leave like that again.” He made a noise of agreement and you both stood there for only God knows how long in your own little world just wrapped up in each other.
BOBBY - Staring down at the time displayed on the phone seemed to be a constant, clicking it on for the time to flash up on the screen only every second to check the time only to see it was the same as it was a second ago. Then clicking it on again a second after it had gone off to find time had indeed moved but only by a minute. It wasn’t going as fast as you wanted it and it only left you all the more impatient which led you to being on edge. Waiting for the moment he would walk through that door, for real this time, not like in you’re all too realistic daydreams, and swear to you, military service is all over. “I’m back.” He called, those simple words meaning the world to you. You let out a strangled noise of excitement, rushing over to jump on him – to smother him with your love. He catches you effortlessly, him beating you to the passionate kiss you were about to plant on him, by planting it on your before you could on him. Once you broke away from the kiss, you joked “diagnose me with separation anxiety now because I’m not letting you leave me from now on.” Making him laugh at your theatrics. But he understood, he thought about and missed you every day in the military. “I’ll marry you soon, so you’re stuck with me.” He hummed out happily, slipping an engagement ring onto your finger out of nowhere leaving you gaping at the sudden, odd but loving proposal
Donghyuk – Counting down the days turned into counting down the hours, and now counting down the hours turned into counting down the minutes. Counting down until you could see your boyfriend again, as he was now free from the military. You were proud of him for doing his service, knowing the strength it takes mentally and physically, but more than happy that he was seconds away from returning to you. You’d actually felt like you’d sent him of to war, but that was just you being dramatic, validly so though because well you were sending him into the military. He was coming straight from the military not even changing so he said, to meet you at the place where you first met. It was a request that he texted you this morning, and it left you as curious as you were excited to finally be in his arms again. T minutes two minutes and he was walking up to you, early not that you minded – the earlier the better. As soon as he was close enough to touch you, he pulled you into his arms and you reciprocated hugging him back tighter than ever. “I love you, missed you.” You both confessed at the same time. The pair of you tearing up a little just a little emotional from being physically back with each other again. Once you pulled away, he spoke up. “I missed you so much whilst I was away, and I thought about this a lot. I want to give you a promise ring. To promise that one day in the near future, it will be replaced by and engagement ring with a wedding ring the eventually join.” He slipped the promise ring on your finger, making the day even more special. A day to really remember in the future.
Ju-ne - Missing him was an experience to never go through again. Even there was the understanding it was mandatory military service, it didn’t take away from the fact that you missed him near enough every day. You survived on little communication and few and far in-between visits to him when he got days off, but no more. Today was D Day, he was coming home, and you couldn’t be happier. Although you couldn’t meet him right the moment he was discharged because you had work, it didn’t put a damper on your spirits. You were practically vibrating with anticipation all day, still feeling energized even after a long day at work. “Did somebody call for a soldier?” He teased as soon as you had rushed through the door. Joking back, you reply “Only if he comes with a striptease.” You try to stifle your laughter, but it comes out anyway. He watches on fond, having missed the sight of you laughing. Before you know it, you’re being pulled into a kiss, reciprocating you make sure to put all your feelings of love, happiness, and missing him into it. You were glad he was back, so glad you could get back to life with him, to create memories with your boyfriend that you would cherish forever. Happy to be thrown back into domestic bliss with him.
Chanwoo – It felt like this time couldn’t have come quick enough, after near a lifetime since he left now, he was coming home, And damn sure he was never leaving again for that long anytime soon. You stood there in the crowd of parents and partners alike of the soldiers watching fondly as they were reunited with each other. It was a beautiful thing to see, something you’d experience once you could bloody find him. You tried searching for Chanwoo, but it was kind of hard in the sea of soldiers all wearing the same uniform. Suddenly though you felt yourself, engulfed in a big hug - familiar strong arms wrapping around you. You knew who it was without a doubt, so you throw your arms around him in return squeezing him so hard, trying to convey exactly how much you missed him. Only he knew because it was the same amount as he missed you, though it didn’t stop you from wrapping around him like cobra jaws. When you broke apart from the hug, you pulled him in for a long passionate kiss PDA be damned. “I’m so happy you’re back now.” You spoke up, eyes threatening to well up with tears in response to the overwhelming different feelings you felt. “I missed you too.” He sighed happily, keeping you tight in his arms.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 - 𝐘𝐮𝐧𝐡𝐲𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐠 [𝐢𝐊𝐎𝐍]
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: smut, language, it's a bit gloomy in the beginning, but it gets better quickly I swear-, a bit sub!Yunhyeong, but only for this occasion
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: Yunhyeong is stressed by Kingdom so you decide to relieve his stress and make him relax ;) Also there's a small shade on msnake so yeah
A/N: This was requested by a lovely anon ages ago, I want to apologize for the long wait! Also I didn't know which member to choose so I spun the wheel and got this cutie, so I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
It's been almost 3 weeks since you've seen your boyfriend the last time. He's been constantly practicing and recording for Kingdom so you didn't want to distract hi. Even though he told you it's okay If you come visit him, you just didn't want to be the reason he's scolded or late for practice, so you two facetimed occasionally.
It always made you happy when you saw him on stage, but during their time in dressing room he seemed off. You knew they were all stressed and tired, but it made you worried and sad so you decided to message him right after it's done.
You: hi baby, are you okay?
You sent him a message, hoping he would answer. Your phone buzzed a few minutes later.
Favorite Song: Can you please come over?
This message didn't seem like him at all, so you knew something was up. You informed him that you're on the way and quickly drove yourself to his place.
You knocked on is door which was quickly opened by annoyed JU-NE.
"What" you asked him as soon as you saw his annoyed face. He shook his head and let you in.
You greeted the rest of the members, those who you met on your way to your boyfriend's room of course, and proceeded to enter his room.
He was laying in his bed going through his phone and cuddling a pillow. Cute.
"Hi" you greeted him softly. He sent a small smile, which you knew was forced, your way and greeted you back.
"Okay so what's wrong" you walked to the other side of his bed and sat down. He sat up so now he was facing you.
"I feel like we are practicing too much yet the results are never great. It's all stressing me out and I don't want our fans and you to stop liking us because of that.." you were shocked. Does he really think their fans and you as well would ever leave them? Nonsense.
"Listen" you got closer to him "you need to calm down and relax. Neither me or ikonics are gonna hate you. All your performances are beyond perfect and YOU are beyond perfect" you could see a few tears roll down his cheek so you kissed them all away. You also have him a long, deep kiss to show him that you love him no matter what.
"Let me help you relax" you said in between kisses. He smiled into the kiss, letting you do whatever you wanted. You've pushed his upper body a tiny, signalling him to lay down, not breaking the kiss. You straddled him, while working your way down his neck to his collar bones. Yunhyeong sighed heavily, not only because he was enjoying what's gonna happen next, but because he hasn't felt a tiny bit relaxed since Kingdom started. You smirked to yourself at the sound of his sigh.
You were slowly making your way to his surprisingly hard bulge. It was too obvious how he missed this and how he missed you as you've barely touched him.
"Someone's excited" you commented while smirking at him. He gave you one of those sweet smiles of his mixed with pain. Pain forming in his pants to me more specific.
You run your palm through his hard for a few times, earning breathy moans from him. Today was not the day to tease him, maybe some other time, so you pulled down his sweats together with his underwear. He helped you get rid of them as quickly as he could just to feel you around him.
You wrapped your hands around his member and stroked it a few times before licking his tip slowly. He made a long shaky sigh. The amount of stress he was going through made him more sensitive, not only emotionally.
You've worked your tongue over his whole length, before making it completely disappear in your mouth. Yunhyeong's hand moved to your head, gently guiding you. His eyes were closed as he was enjoying the sensation you were giving him.
His moans were getting louder and more breathy which meant he was close. Yunhyeong accidentally moved his hips a few times. No such thing today. You stopped moving your head and took his dick out of your mouth.
"Why.." he gave you a worried look. You didn't answer.
"Please Y/N I'm sorry, continue.." he lowkey begged.
You did what he asked for, continuing with the same pace as before. His breathing became shaky again, this time he tried his best not to move his hips. He succeeded, but barely.
With a few more sucks here and there, you could feel a familiar texture in your mouth. You've swallowed it all, while still looking him in the eyes.
"That was great Y/N" he smiled still a bit worn out .
"If you ever feel stressed again make sure to tell me, I'll gladly help you" you playfully winked at him and run away to clean yourself.
On your way to the bathroom, you were met by pair of eyes, staring at you in disgust
"Gross"

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Curled up on the sofa, wrapped in blankets and not noticing that the movie you were watching had ended, you didn't realize that your boyfriend, Yunhyeong had arrived home. He stood in front of the TV, hands filled with groceries that he was waving around to catch your attention while you were still spaced out.
"Babe! I'm home!!" he called out for the third time.
With a sigh, he dropped the groceries and then dropped himself on you, wrapping you in a hug. His coat smelled like the rain and the stubble of his chin tickled your forehead.
"Hm?" you groaned, finally realizing his presence.
"[y/n], what's wrong? Why are you so spaced out?" Yunhyeong asked you, pulling away so he could get a good look at you.
"I don't know... I just feel a little blue," you mumbled, pulling down your boyfriend's black mask, revealing his worried expression.
"Hmm... I'm sorry I haven't been home these days to take care of you, since we're preparing for a comeback, but... I'll make it up to you now, okay?!" Yunhyeong exclaimed.
"Yun... It's 12am!" you pointed out, laughing.
"So? Perfect time for a date!" he said, pulling your arm and forcing you up.
"My face is so puffy right now from being half asleep all day," you groaned.
"And I haven't shaved in a couple of days, but that's fine! Let's go!" Yunhyeong said, pressing a warm kiss to your forehead.
He held out his hand to you and tilted his head, asking you, without saying anything, if you'd join him on this adventure. And you took his hand, letting him guide you to the bedroom so you could get changed as Yunhyeong put the groceries that he bought away.
Once you were ready, he took hold of your hand and whisked you out of your apartment, wisely picking up an umbrella on the way. When you stepped outside, it began to lightly drizzle, and you were thankful for Yunhyeong and the umbrella he brought as he opened it and held it over you. He wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close so both of you would fit under it, but still tilted the umbrella more towards you so you wouldn't get wet, even if it meant his shoulders would get a little soaked.
Luckily, in the dark of the night, no one was out on the streets and Yunhyeong could get away with only wearing a hood, still not being recognized.
"So where are you taking me, Yun?" you asked, your voice just audible over the sound of the rain.
"To the sea!" he exclaimed, excitedly.
"In this weather?" you asked.
"We're already outside... so let's just go all the way!"
Luckily, the Han river was near your house - you always called it the sea - and Yunhyeong was able to take you there.
It was fairly empty of people as you sat right by the water, except for the few people who were running and rushing to get home in the rain. Yunhyeong held your cold hand in his, warming yours up while gazing at you, lovingly.
"[y/n], now that we're here... you know what you have to do," he told you.
You gave him a questioning look.
"Shout all your worries into the sea! Here, I'll go first," Yunhyeong said, facing away from you for a second and turning to the water in front of him.
"I WISH THE IKON BOYS WOULD LISTEN TO ME A BIT MORE!" he shouted, laughing afterwards. You laughed along with him, slapping his shoulder.
"Yunhyeong, be quiet! Someone might hear you..."
"There's no one here, babe," he said, pressing a kiss to your damp cheek.
"Now, your turn!"
You shyly turned to the water before you, taking a deep breath before raising a quiet shout:
"Why is it so damn hard to live!" you yelled, tears forming in the corners of your eyes.
You leaned your head on Yunhyeong's shoulder and he caressed the top of your head with his hand that wasn't holding the umbrella.
"Living is hard, [y/n], but you're doing such a great job," Yunhyeong mumbled into your hair.
Watching the dark water drift by, the soft, yellow light of the city lights and the gentle hue of the sky while being pressed against Yunhyeong made you feel alive, and you let out a sigh of relief.
"Do you feel a bit better, babe?" Yunhyeong asked, and you nodded.
"I'm glad to hear it," Yunhyeong said, reaching up to stroke your cheek with his thumb.
"Do you feel cold? Yunhyeong asked, looking into your eyes.
You nodded, slowly.
"Just a bit," you said.
Yunhyeong flashed a playful, meaningful grin before standing up and touching your shoulder.
"Tag, you're it!" he said before running away.
"In this rain you're gonna make me chase you?" you yelled after him, still standing up to run behind him.
He laughed, looking up at the sky while running and slowing himself before almost falling in a puddle, giving you time to catch up and wrap your arms around him from the back in a tight bear hug. After kissing the top of your hand lightly, Yunhyeong let you run away so he could chase after you this time. When he caught you, he held your face with both hands and peppered it with a million kisses using those soft lips of his, stirring butterflies within you.
The two of you giggled a lot under the rain, running in circles after each other by the water until you were tired, but in a good way. It was the kind of exhaustion that you feel after you know you've had a good day - the kind of exhaustion that tells you you'll be sleeping well tonight.
"Are you ready to head back to bed?" Yunhyeong asked you, taking your hand and guiding you away from the water.
You nodded.
"But let's shower first! I'm drenched," you said.
"Does a warm bubble bath sound okay?" Yunhyeong excitedly suggested, swinging your hand in his.
"It sounds lovely," you replied.

The Flight Attendant - Part 4
Genre: Flight Attendant!AU
Pairing: Yunhyeong x You (Female!Reader)
Warnings: None
Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 | Words: 1,968
Tumblr media
One Year Later
If Yunhyeong hadn't brought it up during your text conversation this morning, you would have completely forgotten it had been a whole year since you'd started your job as a flight attendant.
But Yunhyeong, being the incredibly thoughtful and considerate person he was, had brought it up. He'd actually remembered the exact date of your first meeting and had told you it was a cause for celebration.
It had been several months since you'd felt that pang of romantic disappointment in your heart... but there it was again. It was hardly noticeable at this point -- thrumming ever so slightly and trying to hide in the deepest corner of your chest, but you were familiar enough with the feeling to recognize it instantly. And Yunhyeong remembering the day the two of you had met was, apparently, enough to trigger it.
To be fair, you couldn't remember the last time one of your friends brought up the fact it was your friend-iversary. And certainly, none of your male friends ever had. One of your closest male friends, Jae, barely ever remembered your birthday. So, the fact that Yunhyeong knew the exact day you had first met was actually a pretty big deal.
If you weren't absolutely, positively sure that Yunhyeong only had friendly feelings for you... his text this morning would make you think otherwise.
But, like I said, it had been several months since you'd wished that were true. You had basically given up on ever becoming more than friends and co-workers -- and that was fine!
Fine!
Totally and utterly, positively, completely fine.
That's what you told yourself, at least, as you typed out a text to him.
I can't believe it's been a whole year 😲
After pressing 'send' on your reply, you closed the lid of your just-barely-full suitcase and zipped it up expertly.
After all, it had been a whole year since you'd been flying all over the country. You were an expert by now! And your flight was leaving in just two hours -- something that would have absolutely terrified you a year ago. But now you could pack, get to the airport, and get onto the plane in an hour and a half, tops.
You were rather impressed with yourself if you were being honest.
When the taxi arrived in front of your apartment building, you quickly slipped into your uniform heels and grabbed the handle of your bag. You waited until you'd slid into the backseat of the car before sliding your phone out of your pocket, a smile coming to your lips when you saw another message from Yunhyeong.
I may have a present for you.
OMG you do not. It's not that big a deal, I don't need a present!
...Well, too late.
YUNHYEONG
...what is it?
You'll get it soon! See ya!!!
You pressed your lips together, keeping in a soft chuckle of amusement so the taxi driver wouldn't get distracted from the road.
You also tamped down a flutter in your heart and stomach so you wouldn't get distracted from... everything. Your upcoming flight, your friendship, acting like a fairly average person and not someone who was stupidly in love with their best work friend.
But then another text message interrupted you, and your insides snuck in about three flutters as you clicked on the notification.
Actually, tell me when you get to the airport. And don't go anywhere until you hear back from me.
Immediately, your forehead wrinkled with slight confusion.
...why
Yunhyeong wasn't really one for surprises -- at least not during the year that you'd known him. He frequently did things for you and even bought small souvenirs for you when he flew to fun places, but they were never a surprise. He always texted you Hey, I made dumpling stew, come over and have some or I saw this pen with your favorite animal character on it so I got it for you.
So, for him to be this covert about something just seemed kind of odd.
I wish I could tell you, but that would absolutely ruin the surprise. And it's a good one, I promise.
I mean... you really had no choice but to trust him. He had never -- not once -- given you any reason not to.
So, trust him you did.
Okay... I will... even though this is very nerve-racking and unlike you...
He simply replied back with three innocent angel emojis, and one corner of your lips quirked up in amusement as you slid your phone back in your bag.
As with any other kind of surprise, you tried to keep your mind off of it for the remainder of the taxi ride.
The soft music on the radio, the passing scenery of the city, the other cars whizzing by you. You attempted to focus on one or more of those things... but the idea of a surprise from Yunhyeong was too novel and, frankly, tempting to not think about it.
And the fact that you were on your way to work? That piqued your curiosity even more. How could this surprise not interfere with your schedule?!
And why would he need to know when you arrived at the airport? Why would he not want you to go anywhere until you heard back from him?
Once you were only about five minutes from the airport, you finally admitted to yourself that you had no earthly clue what this surprise could be. You finally gave up.
The next five minutes were the tensest minutes you could recall in your recent history, and when, at long last, you texted Yunhyeong that you were here, you let out a huge sigh of relief.
He replied less than a minute later, while you still had his conversation open.
Come to Gate B16 and don't you dare look up to see which flight it is.
...Okay, things weren't any clearer.
Why was he telling you to come to a different gate? You'd been assigned to flight 9787 to Chicago, gate A9.
He wanted you to just... not get on that plane? Get on another plane?
You shook your head slightly and clicked on the button to call him rather than reply to him in a text.
"Just do it!" he chuckled as soon as he picked up.
"What is going on?!" you whined, your eyebrows knit together in distress.
"Y/N," Yunhyeong said confidently. "Just trust me. Gate B16. Come straight here."
He hung up before you could point out that he had said 'Come straight here' and not 'Go straight there' which implied that he was currently at gate B16.
...Interesting.
Well, there was nothing much more you could do, was there? After sliding your phone into your bag and letting out a deep, relenting sigh, you took hold of your suitcase handle and headed to the tram for concourse B.
Tumblr media
In reality, it took less than ten minutes for you to wait for the tram, board the tram, ride the tram to concourse B, exit the tram, and walk down to gate B16.
But it absolutely did not feel like less than ten minutes! It felt more like ten hours, and your stomach was in anxious knots the entire time.
You walked down the concourse as quickly as you could without actually jogging, your eyes glued to the gate signs as you passed by.
B11... B12... B13... B14...
Looking up ahead, past gate B15, you squinted slightly to try and make out what was listed underneath B16, on the flight information screen.
And when you were able to read it clearly enough... you stopped in your tracks.
Because it said --
"Y/N!" Yunhyeong cheered, suddenly appearing in front of you and taking your suitcase. He also took your elbow gently and led you closer to the gate. "Don't worry, I got your schedule changed and everything worked out. I really wanted to tell you to pack more, but that would've given it away. But there will be plenty of opportunities to shop where we're going!"
"Paris?!" you wheezed, eyes wide as you stumbled along toward the boarding area. If Yunhyeong didn't have a grip on your elbow, you weren't sure you'd be able to move.
Yunhyeong squeezed your elbow a bit, and when you blearily glanced at him, you saw his lips pursed in the most adorable of smug grins.
"I knew that's been on the top of your list for a whole year, so I wanted to make it happen for you," he said.
And, honestly, you had no idea how to respond to that. For maybe the first time in your entire life, you were actually -- quite literally -- speechless.
It wasn't until you'd walked with Yunhyeong through the waiting area, down the connecting ramp, and into the plane that words finally came to you.
"...I --"
Okay, well, one word. And it was barely even a word.
"Are you okay?" Yunhyeong chuckled, finally releasing your arm so he could stow your suitcase up in the very last overhead compartment.
A deep exhale poured through your lips before you replied, "Yes, I just -- I don't know what to -- How? And -- and -- and why? Paris? How?"
"It was fairly easy, actually," he assured you as he hefted your bag up over his head. "I spoke with Liah about it two months ago and she went along with my Top Secret Plan."
So... your supervisor had known about this for two months?! And had put the Chicago flight on your schedule fully aware that you would actually be going to Paris?!
Now you really had to hear his answer for your second question.
"But why?" you asked, the fact that you were utterly dumbfounded still very apparent in your voice.
Yunhyeong closed the overhead compartment and stood up straight, reaching out to put his hands on your shoulders.
Of course, your stomach flipped over, and when he smiled at you it flipped over two more times.
"Because you're my friend!" he told you with a soft laugh, a laugh that clearly stated this was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Yes, but -- but -- Paris! I thought you would make my favorite noodles and pack them in a lunch for me!" And, really, the only reason you thought that was because he'd done it before!
But this was on a whole other level!
Yunhyeong just laughed again, shaking his head slightly as he squeezed your shoulders. "Y/N, you are a flight attendant. You will go to Paris again, more than once."
"Well, yeah, when you put it like that it doesn't sound like a big deal," you sputtered.
"No, no, no, no," he tutted. "It is a big deal, but only because you've wanted to go and now you finally are. And I will take you everywhere, to all of the good places, I promise."
If you continued to be all flabbergasted about this, you would probably just feel silly. Plus, you were fairly certain passengers would start boarding within the next half hour, so you had to get started on your pre-flight duties.
So, you simply let out another sigh, briefly reached up to cover Yunhyeong's hands with yours, and said, "All right, let's do this. Thank you. I can't even begin to express how grateful I am, this is the best present ever."
Yunhyeong's lips spread into a full-on grin, and somehow, you had forgotten just how cute he is when he smiles.
Tumblr media
Then, he let go of your shoulders, turned around, and headed back to help unload all of the meals for the flight. When you turned around, you saw three more flight attendants enter the aircraft, so...
It was time to go to Paris, I guess!

When They’re Jealous//iKon
Tumblr media
(A/N: the wording is a bit sloppy because I wrote this at work lmao)
Jinhwan
Tumblr media
Jealousy level: 2/10
Jinhwan feels secure with both himself and your relationship, so he wouldn’t get too jealous. But he has his moments.
He’d begin to act coldly towards everyone if he starts to feel as if someone is getting between you two, trying to remain nonchalant while simultaneously hoping you hear his silent prays that you do something to remind both him and the potential homewrecker that you’re spoken for.
He can get a bit pouty even when things die down and it’s made clear you’re happily taken, still upset you weren’t all over him the way he wanted, but that’s another issue for another time.
Yunhyeong
Tumblr media
Jealousy level: 0/10
Like Jinhwan, he’s secure with himself and your relationship, but he also trust that you can put an end to any flirting or advances made towards you.
But Yunhyeong is no idiot.
He would tell you with a bright smile to go out with them for dinner or to the movies, to enjoy your time with them as if the situation didn’t faze him, but he knew it’d bother you. You’d feel like he was pushing you away, probably upset you were talking about and hanging out with another man that wasn’t him, maybe even upset you haven’t given him the same attention recently.
And, like clockwork, you’ll cancel all your plans to spend your time with Yunhyeong, his demeanor still nonchalant and unbothered while you tried to prove to him you were 100% committed to your relationship. It wasn’t his plan per say, it was clearly your idea to stay with him, he just gave you a bit of a push to come to that decision.
Jiwon
Tumblr media
Jealousy level: 2/10
Another member that has no doubt that your relationship is perfect and indestructible. He doesn’t mind people flirting with you or even offering to take you out, a running joke between you two that someone might take you away from him one day. But the thing Bobby didn’t find funny? When guys were a bit too bold with their affection towards you.
You weren’t one to tell people off, especially strangers, leading to some people taking your silent bashfulness as compliance. The way guys would wrap their arms around your shoulders and pull you close drove Bobby crazy but, the way you awkwardly smiled and grimaced at the closeness between you and said stranger, killed any jealousy he felt.
He’d go into a protective stance, being your voice against unwanted predators. He was fine with seeming like the jealous boyfriend, as long as you were safe and comfortable.
Hanbin
Tumblr media
Jealousy level: 8/10
Hanbin is a great boyfriend, but his jealousy can make you question your relationship at times.
He could go from silently glaring at the man stealing your attention to wrapping himself around you like a snake, taking PDA to an all-time high to ensure they got the hint but, if they didn’t catch on or if you brushed him off to focus on the stranger, he’d get angry.
He’s a sweet guy, but if he’s angry enough he’ll verbally tell them off, gritting his teeth and giving a stern warning to leave and never come near you again. He’d try to scold you as well, wanting to chastise you for allowing their flirting to go on for so long, but just looking in your slightly angry eyes made him calm down. His mood would switch back to the loving boyfriend you always knew, his PDA still at its highest as he profusely apologized to you, but he knew he had to go through hell and back to gain your forgiveness like always.
Donghyuk
Tumblr media
Jealousy level: 1/10
Donghyuk only feels jealous when he’s not your main focus, especially when it’s another guy occupying your time.
He’d become pouty and verbally needy, not ashamed to admit that he’s jealous. His jealousy won’t last long because you’d immediately talk it out, his playfulness keeping things lighthearted and his arms wrapped around you like you’re his greatest comfort.
He wouldn’t mind if you continued conversing with the stranger, especially if you found some way to include him. Possibly the easiest to deal with in terms of jealousy and relationship security.
Junhoe
Tumblr media
Jealousy level: 10/10
He’s petty and he doesn’t care that he’s petty. Anyone looks at you? He glares at them. They smile at you? He scoffs. You smile or laugh back? He rolls his eyes. His jealousy knows no bounds.
You’d find it amusing if you weren’t also a target in his unhinged behavior. He’d ignore you and everyone nearby, arms crossed and lips in a permanent pout as he watched you ignore his upset demeanor, silently demanding you go over and comfort him. But, even if you do, he’ll keep up his bitter act, sarcastically asking why you weren’t talking with your other boyfriend.
He’d be the most difficult to make up with, his jealousy fueling your own anger until you found yourselves in a silent treatment match that’d last but so long once you both went to bed, his arm wrapping around you waist and holding you close, a simple “I’m still mad” leaving him as you drifted to sleep.
Chanwoo
Tumblr media
Jealousy level: 5/10
Chanwoo would feel jealous but he wouldn’t know how to go about it. He’d be embarrassed if you knew he was jealous, but he also couldn’t stand seeing you laugh with and hug some guy he never met before. If you brought him along so they could meet, he’d space out, his mind going over everything you might have found perfect about the other guy and doubting if this was just step one of you replacing him and finding a new and better relationship.
He’d mentally detach from the situation before physically drifting away as well, eyes reluctantly glancing at you both to watch the potential demise of his relationship. Once you found yourself back at his side, you’d be able to tell right away he wasn’t himself and, after putting two and two together, determined he was just feeling insecure. He’d need a lot of reassurance, just a simple “I love you” not enough to remind him you weren’t going anywhere.
His jealousy would be more sadness than anger or possession, making it a strange and new experience as you won’t know how to handle it properly, but he’ll talk it out with you eventually and may need some space to realign himself and get back to normal.

Stuck in the Game
Mafia!Dad!Yunhyeong x Mom!Reader ft. Mafia!ATEEZ, Mafia!iKON, Mafia!BTS
Summary: When your daughter, Soojin, finally finds someone she likes, her father freaks out because, despite his best efforts to keep her out of that life, the boy in question is also a mafia member. A rival group finds the couple and uses the relationship as blackmail.
Anon Request: a long and specific request that started with dad!Wonwoo but was changed to Yunhyeong and we edited the specifics together so idk what to put here anymore lol
Word Count: 3.3-3.4K
Contains: mafia!AU, violence, guns, kidnapping, blackmail, reunion of old friends-turned-rivals, forced cooperation, fluff, angst
A/N: This took forever for me to get the energy to type out and format, I’m sorry, but I’m proud that I implemented all the aspects I wanted to in this.
Tumblr media
If 17-year-old you could see yourself now, you don't know whether the reaction would be amazement or fear. At age 23, you were a performer and bartender for a high-end bar famous for its mafia visitors. You'd often listen to their meetings whenever they requested "beautiful company," and that made you a very valuable person in the business, even without you trying to be.
When the day you feared finally came, your kidnappers wanted all the information you had from other mafia groups. They were very kind to you, treating you like a valuable treasure. They called themselves iKON, and the moniker was written in numerous places in the house. Their leader, B.I., insisted you be treated like royalty, but one of the boys enjoyed the chaos of going against the leader's requests. He was a charmer, and you fell for him quickly. Gradually, the romantic encounters turned into sexual encounters, and you found out that you were pregnant with his child shortly after.
Until the day you told him of the pregnancy, you only knew him by his mafia name, Song. When you revealed your secret, however, he happily disclosed that "Yunhyeong will be a good father. Don't worry." It was his way of disconnecting his mafia status from his child. You figured this out as he moved you out of the mafia base with B.I.'s approval and bought a good home for you both to stay.
You remember the day you gave birth as if it was yesterday. You remember the joy that swept away all the pain as you held your newborn daughter. You remember all the boys visiting you at different times, and you'll never forget how proud Yunhyeong looked as he introduced his squad to his daughter.
Soojin. You remember her baby face without issue, even though it was 17 years ago. Your daughter grew up so fast - as you're told they all do.
Soojin and her father get along so well. Both of them are trouble makers, so you always see them planning chaos or laughing about something together. You and your daughter talk about deeper subjects more often than not, so seeing her being carefree and enjoying life with Yunhyeong brings so much joy to your heart.
Today, however, you catch them fighting. You don't hear the topic, only Soojin storming out after her final jab at her father, "You don't understand me at all!"
Seeing the pain on Yunhyeong's face hurts, but you decide to check in with your daughter instead, knowing that Yunhyeong can handle himself. Following Soojin, you find her on the front porch, sitting with her arms wrapped around her legs and her head buried in her knees. You sit down next to her, the wooden patio revealing your presence with a creak. You don't say anything before she immediately begins ranting about her father.
"Why doesn't he understand? Why can't he just be happy that I found someone that makes me happy?"
This is the first time your daughter has ever mentioned anything along the lines of having a crush, so you know it must be important to her, "Soojin, you've found someone?" You try approaching the situation softly, opting to learn about her partner before thinking about why her father would be upset.
"Mom, he's amazing. He's really sweet and caring. He takes me to nice parks, and we message every single day. He's pretty tall and really cute, too."
"So, what's this boy's name?"
"Hyunwoo. Jeong Hyunwoo. He's a year older than I am, and he's technically in the mafia - he was born into it just like me - but he treats me so well."
Suddenly, you understand why Yunhyeong freaked out over Soojin's boyfriend, but you don't bring it up just yet, "Jeong Hyunwoo. He sounds nice. Have you met his family?"
"Yup! We hang out with his dad a lot. He's super cool. Makes lots of jokes. His mom died when he was younger, and he's an only child, so it's just the two of them. For some reason, though, dad freaked out on me when I told him. Something about dangerous relationships and hoping I'd never have to deal with this stuff. I have no idea what he's talking about. Ugh, it's not fair. Why can't he be cool about it like Hyunwoo's dad?"
"Honey, your father just wants to protect you. He'll come around. He just knows someone he has bad blood with that has the same last name. They used to be friends but the friend was recruited into a mafia group, which meant he never even said his goodbyes to your father."
"But dad's in the mafia, so what's the big deal?"
With a sigh, you reveal some of your husband's past, "Your dad didn't choose to join. He had to join or they would've killed him for the damages he caused as a teenager. He despises the lifestyle, but there's no way to leave once you become part of it. Your father accepted the life he was forced into and did his best with what was given to him. His friend, Yunho, on the other hand, was invited and willingly chose to join. He does want you to be happy, but he's worried about your life if you date a mafia member."
"Well, what about you? Why'd he date you if that was the case? He was okay involving you?"
You laugh and shake your head. You think back on the unconventional relationship you and your now-husband had before the marriage, but decide not to explain that quite yet, "That's a very long and complicated story for another day. Just know that your situation is extremely different from mine. If you truly love Hyunwoo, don't let your father's attitude affect the relationship. When he sees you truly happy, he'll support you. Believe me."
You could tell that Soojin wasn't quite convinced, but she was always head-strong, so you also know that she will continue her relationship. So, you weren't surprised when she came to you a few days after and announced that she had a date with Hyunwoo. Watching her walk out in her cute date outfit, you can't help but feel proud of her for following her heart.
During the date, you finally confront Yunhyeong, "She'll be okay, y'know? She's the daughter of two very strong people, and we've raised her well."
"I tried so hard to keep her out of the mafia life. And a Jeong of all people could ruin all of that."
You place a hand on his back, "Yunhyeong, you can't use your past against her future. Aren't you happy Soojin finally found her first love?"
"Well, yeah, but..." He sighs, deciding not to finish his complaint.
"She'll be fine."
---
Soojin meets with Hyunwoo at the coffee shop down the street. When he sees her, the smile shows on his whole face.
"You look so beautiful." He places a kiss on her head and takes the seat across from her.
"Thanks, Hyunwoo. My mom helped choose my outfit and styled my hair for me."
Unknown to the couple basking in their puppy love, a low-ranking member of another mafia group sits at the next table and recognizes Hyunwoo's name. To confirm that he's the right person, the member listens in on their conversation.
"How's training? Is your dad being hard on you?"
"Naw, it's pretty smooth. What about you, though? How'd your parents react when you told them?"
"My mom is understanding. She fell for a member, too, after all, so she can relate. My dad, on the other hand... Ugh, he's so difficult!"
At this point, the stranger decides to alert his higher-ups of this potential Achilles' heel for the ATEEZ mafia team.
"He doesn't approve?"
"He hates that I'm becoming part of a lifestyle he tried so hard to keep me out of. My mom said it has to do with your name, too. Apparently, my dad's childhood friend ended up willingly joining the mafia without saying goodbye, and his last name was Jeong."
No longer paying attention, the stranger has been communicating with other members about following the couple around for a kidnapping so they can blackmail their rival mafia group. When the couple leaves the cafe, he follows them to a nearby park, his last-second assignment to find her house underway.
At the end of the date, Hyunwoo walks Soojin back home, finding you sitting out on the porch, reading under the warm light.
"Hey. mom! I'm back!"
As you look up from the book, you find your daughter waving at you with one hand as her other arm links with a nervous-looking boy. You stand up to greet them, and you notice Hyunwoo relax a bit when he realizes how nice you are. You have a short chat before Hyunwoo claims he should get home before his father worries.
"Thank you for walking Soojin home. Get home safely."
You and your daughter watch as he leaves, then she enthusiastically recounts the events of the date. Seeing her this happy makes you smile, as she hasn't smiled this brightly since she was a young child. When the two of you head inside, she falls asleep the moment she lays down. You meet with your husband in your shared bedroom.
"How is he?"
"He seems sweet. He was clearly nervous when he saw me, and he genuinely seems to love her and wants to keep her safe."
"That's good." His robotic response ends the conversation, so you both get into bed.
A few weeks pass before Soojin and Hyunwoo have time for another date. You offer to drive her to the arcade, but she insists on walking to enjoy the nice weather. You kiss her forehead as you tell her to be safe, then watch her until she leaves your view.
Maybe an hour later, an exhausted Hyunwoo comes banging on your front door.
Between moments to catch his breath, he pleads, "Please... tell me Soojin is here... She never came..."
Even though you answered the door, Yunhyeong hears and freaks out. "I told you, Y/N! It's too dangerous for her! She might've been kidnapped!"
You quickly bring Hyunwoo inside, looking up and down the street before closing and locking the door. Once both boys have calmed down a bit, you try calling your daughter, but you're immediately sent to the voicemail. Moments later, Hyunwoo gets a call from his father, who sounds very confused but speaks urgently without revealing details. When Hyunwoo tells him where he is, his father hangs up. Ten minutes later, Yunho pulls up with his leader in the passenger seat. You let them in quickly, only for chaos to ensue the moment Yunhyeong sees Yunho.
He abruptly stands, the chair falling behind him, "Get out of my house."
"Babe, we both want the same things right now. Put the rivalry aside." You try.
"It's him, Y/N. This is the bastard who left without so much as a goodbye."
Time feels frozen as everyone's eyes go wide. Yunho sighs, breaking the silence.
"Hello, Song. It's been a while. You may hate me for the past, but your daughter has been kidnapped. She's being held as blackmail against my group. So, unless you want her to die there, I suggest you put that hatred aside so we can save her."
"Dad?"
"I don't know what you've learned, Hyunwoo, but Song and I were best friends until I chose to join the group, which forced us to cut ties. Their group is a rival; there wasn't much choice in the matter." Yunho says it as if it was rehearsed for years, his eyes still transfixed on Yunhyeong's.
The ATEEZ leader clears his throat before moving forward with the information he has, "I'm HJ, and I received a link to this video earlier." He hits play on his tablet and talks over the soundless visual of your daughter tied down to a chair, "This was accompanied by a message demanding that we give up some of our fronts to them or she dies. I don't think they realize she's your daughter, or else they'd be blackmailing your group as well."
The four boys discuss further action while you listen, quietly analyzing the options. Hours pass without much progress being made. When you finally try to chime in about going to get her yourself, using the same tactics you used as a dancer, there's another knock on the door. The room instantly falls silent as Yunhyeong slinks toward the door, a hand on his gun. As he looks through the peephole, his body relaxes. Keeping his hand on the gun in case of ambush, he opens the door for B.I., who gives him a pitiful look before stepping inside.
"This doesn't look good, Song." The leader states as he pulls out an envelope addressed to iKON.
Opening it, Yunhyeong finds a lock of hair and a handwritten note:
iKON, we have one of your members. This member is a daughter of one of your high ranks. We suggest you follow the instructions on the back of this message if you want to see her ever again.
On the back, the instructions simply list a date, time, and place to meet, followed by their demands of a certain area under iKON's control. From the handwritten element, Yunhyeong quickly narrows down the suspects to two cocky newer groups: Bangtan or The Strays.
"Why is ATEEZ here?" B.I. asks when he reaches the others.
"Soojin is my girlfriend."
"And Hyunwoo is my son. It was easy blackmail for them."
HJ stands and holds out a hand to B.I., "Looks like we have to work together this time."
He reluctantly shakes his hand, gripping tightly, "Only this once. I don't want to lose that zone, but I can't risk Song going insane over his daughter's death either."
The debating and planning continue with more force, as the deadline doesn't give much time. Now that they can narrow down the subjects, they can plan in more depth. The two groups in question are much cockier, so they'll expect the ultimatum to be enough for cooperation. However, they're both smart enough to plan defenses in case of an ambush, and they have the numbers on their side. You're quick to point out that Bangtan's numbers don't show for power, as the top seven do everything themselves rather than relying on others, protective of everything they started together. Hyunwoo adds that The Strays don't have the same numbers as Bangtan, but that power is much more balanced, with each of the top members taking assistants by their side.
"We have to assume this is Bangtan. I don't think The Strays would be this aggressive. They'd take their sweet time with their attack. They'd probably kidnap Soojin and Hyunwoo together so that they have a larger upperhand." B.I. declares, repeating for clarity, "Bangtan do things on impulse like this. The Strays think too much."
Agreeing, you all begin fully planning the attack. Ultimately, Hyunwoo and Yunhyeong will attend the meeting, since they're the clear emotional targets in this scheme. You will infiltrate enemy lines if at all possible, with the support of the ATEEZ elite hacker, Yeosang. B.I. and HJ will join each group's top sniper, aiming at whoever joins the meeting on the opposite side, as well as keeping eye on anyone who comes into contact with you. Everyone wants this done as quickly and quietly as possible.
After two agonizingly-long days, the plans are put into action. Yeosang finds you an entrance around the side of the building, disabling its alarm long enough for you to get inside. You quickly find yourself in a group of other girls who are being given simple equipment. As you approach, the person hanging out guns asks for your member number. Without fail, iKON's intel expert spits out a number that you repeat with confidence.
"Name?"
"Kim Eunsoo." You relay the information you're given and receive a small handgun.
You follow the others, blindly acting like the rest of the pack. You don't have sight on the meeting, but you find yourself face-to-face with one of Bangtan's top members. He gives you a once-over before giving you the 'follow me' gesture with his fingers. Although you're scared, remembering rumors of him being the harshest of the members despite his sweet-sounding name.
When Suga finally leads you far enough from the others, he throws a hand around your throat and leans in close, "Do you think we're that dumb?"
He pulls your earpiece from your ear and breaks it under his foot before moving his hand to your hair, dragging you to the meeting. He cuffs your wrists behind your back before pushing you to the floor next to your daughter.
"Well, well, well. You actually did try some tricks. Good for you. Now, we have both of your girls, Song. You better give us what we want." RM, Bangtan's leader claims, a smirk plastered on his face the whole time.
He clearly sounds victorious, so you refuse to look up, hiding your proud smile since they're falling so easily into the trap everyone set. There were no disguises; you meant to get caught. As he continues his victory monologue, you fidget with the handcuffs, slipping out easily without letting them see. You press a button planted in the fake wedding ring you're wearing, alerting everyone that you've freed yourself and can continue the plan.
See, they neglected to take the loaded gun back, believing you wouldn't be able to use it anyway due to the constraints.
"RM, tell me. You think we're idiots for trying to beat you this time, right?" Hyunwoo mocks, cutting off the mafia boss mid-sentence, "You think we'd send Y/N in without a disguise and expect to get a win like that. Isn't that right, buddy?"
Right on queue, you point your gun at RM, and the snipers turn the scope lights on, revealing that the other members have targets on their chests. The leader chuckles and raises his hands.
"Oh no! They have us surrounded! Can you believe this, Jin?" Sarcasm flowing from every word, you realize he's planned for far more than you expected.
Understanding RM's plans at the same time, Hyunwoo lunges toward his girlfriend, shielding her body with his. Shots sound. Groans echo through the building as bullets pierce skin, followed quickly by shuffling feet to get the wounded out of harm's way.
When the dust settles, Yunho and B.I. quickly work to treat the wounded. As B.I. removes a bullet from your right shoulder, you tell him that you hit RM clean in the leg.
"It seemed like slow motion. I watched the bullet break his skin right before the pain hit my back."
"If you're such a good shot, we should train you properly. Dunno if your husband would approve, though."
Everyone made it back safely, so you're all exceptionally happy about how smooth it went. Only you and Hyunwoo actually got hit, and, luckily, neither shot hit anything vital. You also know Bangtan didn't suffer many injuries either, which gives you peace of mind.
Once B.I. finishes dressing the wound, you meet with Yunhyeong, who won't stop thanking Hyunwoo for jumping on top of Soojin and taking the bullet. You drag him away and have him meet with Yunho, who sits on the roof with a celebratory bottle of beer.
"Hey... Thanks for helping save our daughter." Yunhyeong nervously starts, sitting in between the two of you.
"Now, Yunho, so you want to tell Yunhyeong what you told me?"
Silence falls over the group momentarily.
"Nah, I think this speaks enough." Stubbornly, he takes another swig of his drink before laying back, "I'll help my friends, even if the companies we work for are rivals."
As silence creeps in again, you decide not to push for it anymore tonight. You already have a nice victory to sit on, so you feel no need to try for another. You lay down and let your mind drift as you stare up at the stars, knowing full well that Yunhyeong will accept Hyunwoo as family, meaning Yunho will slowly become part of the family as well.

iKON When You Fall Asleep on Their Lap
This was requested by no one, I just wanted to give my boys some more love!
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: The occasional swear
Jinhwan:
Tumblr media
He’d find it cute, at first. You were super adorable when you were asleep, but after about 20 minutes or so, he got uncomfortable. He really didn’t want to wake up but his muscles were starting to tense. So he decided to wake you up and say “Hey baby, do you wanna cuddle in bed instead? So we’re both comfortable?” To which you happily agreed.
Yunhyeong:
Tumblr media
The minute you fell asleep he noticed. Your body immediately relaxed, and he was so glad you were getting some rest. He held you hand while enjoying the fact that you were comfortable enough to sleep on his lap. And he was so comfortable he fell asleep. He was still holding your hand when he woke up (and snoring).
Bobby:
Tumblr media
He honestly thought it was the cutest thing ever, and his bunny smile was plastered on his face. He really adored it, until he had to pee. Then this state of existential dread washed over him. He did not know what to do as he didn’t want to wake you. So what did he do? He panicked and booked it, leaving you to fall on the floor.and wake up
Hanbin:
Tumblr media
Can’t lie, an immense flood of pride washed over him. He was so ecstatic. He may have giggled a little bit when you fell asleep. He loved you so much and the fact that you fell asleep on him? Happy Hanbin. He also thought you were literally the cutest bean in the world, and all he wanted to do was smother your face in kisses (which he did)
Donghyuk:
Tumblr media
(can I just preface this by saying this is the love of my life right here?)
He just loved it, all of it. Your sleepy face, the cute noises of content you made, the fact you mumbled his name once. Of course he also could keep his hands out of your hair, mindlessly twirling it while he continued to play his game. He loved this time you two had together, and it became a regular occasion.
Junhoe:
Tumblr media
He got so confused, did he wake you up? Did he play with your hair? Stroke your face? He spent a solid 5 minutes just staring at you, eyes wide. He tried to do something cute and sweet but all he could do was stare, unable to move for fear of waking you up. And you woke up like that, Junhoe just staring at you. Let’s say he definitely scared you shitless.
Chanwoo:
Tumblr media
Okay so he was gaming when you just laid you head in his lap and fell asleep. He got flustered for a second but decided to keep playing his game. Until you made a cute little noise, one of contempt. After that all self control was out the window and he just started playing with your hair and staring down at you lovingly.
