You tossed the blankets over the side of the couch and brought over the teas as lily lit a candle to go on the coffee table in front of you. You could just see the excitement beaming from within her, recently you came up with the idea of reading the same books together and then chatting about them at certain stop points you both agreed upon. It made Lily beyond happy to just sit there with you and talk about her favorite thing to do.

She sat down and pulled one of the blankets to her lap as she pulled out her little journal where she jotted down notes and patted the couch for you to take a seat as you grabbed your phone to open where you were keeping your notes. It was just easier for you to keep them in your phone and set little reminders, just so you would follow through with the note taking. “Sooo what did you think about it so far!” She grinned as you looked at what you wrote. “I really like it so far, I think the storyline has a lot to it,” you nodded a bit as you read off what you wrote. “What do you think so far?” you smiled over her, knowing she was going to gush about what she found interesting and what plot lines were sticking out to her. “Well… so far,” she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. “I think that the story line is sooo amazing, and the way the author writes?! easily one of my favorite writing styles!” you smiled to yourself as you listened, it was more of you just admiring her and listening to her as if it was in the background. God, she was beautiful and you loved her and how she could talk about anything for hours on end and something new always stood out whenever you revisited the topic.

You wrapped up on the parts that you already read and Lily smiled before speaking. “Let’s start on the next chapter,” you smiled as you grabbed the book to start reading with her. You read in silence, your legs against each other as you both started to write little things down. You thought of how to word things for your notes as Lily was already back to being nose deep in the story. Lily turned the page and then gasped to look at you. “are you for real?” her face was starting to form a pink cloud over her cheeks as she looked at you in awe, pulling out the little post-it note you left in there. You smiled to yourself as you got down on one knee. “Well, I am.” You wiped your palms a bit. “After i suggested the idea of having a book club together and your excitement, I figured this was the best way to ask.” You reached into your pocket and cleared your throat a little bit. “You’ve done nothing but make me the happiest person on earth, I don’t know where I would be if I wasn’t with you right now. Lily Marrow, will you marry me?” You opened up the tiny velvet box as she looked at you in awe and teared up. “Absolutely,” You smiled and took her hand as you put the ring on her finger.

She kissed you and you kissed her back. She pulled away to look at the ring in absolute awe. “I love you so much,” she grinned as you kissed her cheek. “I love you too, Lily” you fixed her hair. “after i suggested the book club thing for us and you asked ‘do you want to get married?’ I thought you were on to me,” You giggled softly as she smiled. “Well I want the absolute breakdown on how long you’ve wanted to do this,” she smiled. “I thought we’d get right back to the book,” you teased as she whined. “fine fine,” you smiled as you both put the books away and got ready to tell her everything.

You looked over at Lily as she sat on the couch, curled up with a book she’s read a million times over, with a cup of tea in front of her, it was the definition of peace. “Hey babe?” you smiled over as she looked up, snapping out of her fantasy that she had her nose buried in. “yeah?” her thumb was placed carefully on the end of the line she just finished reading as she smiled at you. “how many times are you gonna read that book?” you giggled softly. “it’s an amazing book!” she whined a bit at your comment. “well…” you started as she went back to her book. “i was gonna suggest maybe going to a book store near by?” she perked up at the idea, finding her book mark to put it in place, she had a habit of putting the end of the bookmark in line with the last phrase she just read, she was always careful and you thought it was the cutest thing. “buuuttt since you like that book so much…” you trailed off as Lily stood up fast “absolutely! let me get my shoes,” she made her way over to door fast as you smiled and followed.

“uh babe…” Lily looked over at you as she checked the weather. “it’s starting to rain…” you looked out the windows quick then back to her. “i still want to go, if you do,” you fixed a piece of her hair and she looked at you then out the window. “i feel bad cause it’s raining,” you shrugged. “nonsense. we can just get an umbrella!” you smiled and looked around the apartment, trying to remember where you last put it. “over there?” lily suggested as she pointed to the corner of your living room, it laid against the wall in a tiny nook between the closet and the bookshelf. “thank you love!” you smiled and grabbed it then put your arms together. “now, are we ready for the adventure!” you grinned as she giggled. “yes i am,” she grinned. her smile and her laugh always made your heart skip a beat, her happiness was your favorite thing to be apart of. That’s one of the reasons you fell in love with her too, besides the fact that she’s so insanely smart, talented and was unbelievably gorgeous. You snapped out of your thoughts as you led Lily to the bookshop you found.

“i think you’ll ABSOLUTELY love it here,” you grinned as she kissed your cheek. “is that a promise?” you smiled and nodded. “yes ma’am,” you checked your directions on your phone. “it’s going to be on our left, a little up the stree…t” you looked up in the middle of your words to see lily dashing through the puddles as she saw the store. you shook your head with a smile as she held the door open, curtsying a little. “after you,” she faked some type of accent that you weren’t even sure what it was as you giggled and bowed. “well thank you madam,” You both walked in and immediately were in awe. The building was a bit on the narrow side but it was full of books, shelves so high and stocked beyond belief and there was an upstairs too. Lily kissed around your face super quick. “I love you so much, this place is amazing!” she squealed quietly then immediately went to search for what titles they had that intrigued her. You went to look on your own as you wanted to find a few books of your own.

You stared at a few different options as the rain pattered against the window. “babe!” lily whisper-shouted over at you for your attention and you walked over. “there’s a whole harry potter section!” she was so excited and grinning from ear to ear. They didn’t have just the books, they had the lego sets, shirts, mugs, scarves, almost like a mini universal studios store. You grinned as you looked for what you could buy. “wellll you’re gonna have to get the hufflepuff beanie,” you smiled as you grabbed it and she nodded. “well of course, i mean… if you insist” she played coy as you giggled. Trying to stay quiet was a bit hard as you couldn’t help but enjoy your time. “Here!” she smiled and found you a beanie of your house. “we have to get them, i mean… the opportunity is here… so might as well” she smiled as you nodded quickly. “oh of course, i think it would be against the law if we didn’t get them at this point,”

You both explored the store more as Lily kept circling around and looking for more to buy as you couldn’t help but watch and laugh as she explained the books she was going to buy and why they’re amazing and why you have to read them once she’s done. “i just think maybe we give each other so input afterwards?” she gave you a side eye which made you laugh harder. “yes, absolutely! but in that case… shouldn’t i get one of my own? we can read them at the same time then give each other some notes about what we think.” you picked up one of the books she had in your hand as she looked at you in awe. “do you wanna get married?” you giggled, becoming flustered at her comment, she grinned at the blush on your cheeks. “I don’t know how many more books I can carry,” she admitted as you nodded. “do you need me to carry more?” you smiled as she shook her head. “nope! we need to go home and start reading right now,” You nodded and walked up to checkout.

Lily kept thanking you for paying as you shushed her. “hey, it was my suggestion, so my treat,” you kissed her forehead as you held the bag in one hand and the umbrella over the two of you in the other. You watched as she skipped slightly in between the puddles and smiled. “come on, just jump in one!” you smiled a little mischievously. “noo i don’t want to ruin my shoes!” she whined a bit as you found a puddle and stepped in it a little hard as she looked at you in disbelief as you laughed hard, almost as if all the laughs you were stifling in the bookstore were coming out now. “it’s not that funny,” she huffed as you made it back to your building. You took off your shoes and hung the umbrella in its right spot on a hook next to the door. “want anything to drink?” lily called out a bit as she already made her way to the kitchen. “maybe some water,” you smiled as you went to the couch and set up the books you both got to read together and put the rest on the bookshelf. Lily walked over and put your cup of water on the coffee table and her tea. She grabbed a candle and lit one, placing it gently on the table as well. “I love you so much,” she looked over at you as you were grabbing a blanket for both of you to use. “I love you,” you smiled at her. “Now, let’s start our mini bookclub,” she giggled softly and flopped next to you on the couch.
