"What should I get?" you inquired, lowering your voice as much as humanly possible so only Yunhyeong could hear you. Even though you were a tourist and this was your first time here, you didn't exactly want it to be obvious. The restaurant was tiny enough that eavesdropping was inevitable, but you could at least try to keep your conversation contained to your charming table for two.
"I had the Quiche Lorraine last time, and it was fantastic," Yunhyeong replied, his eyes still surveying the menu. "But this is absolutely one of those places where there are no wrong choices."
You nodded silently, biting the inside of your cheek as your gaze flitted back and forth between the menu and your dinner date -- partner. Sorry. Dinner partner sitting across from you.
"And," Yunhyeong continued, his grin peeking through in his voice when he spoke. "We can actually order alcohol this time."
You knit your brows in confusion, letting your eyes settle on him for more than a half-second. "What do you mean?"
Yunhyeong's smile grew just a fraction wider before he gently set down his menu, crossed his arms over the marble top of the table, and leaned toward you. (To put into perspective just how small the table was, by the way -- his cologne was now invading your sense because he was so close to you.)
"Remember your first day on the job?" he began, murmuring like he was revealing some confidential information.
You nodded, resisting the urge to copy his movements and lean in yourself.
"We were on the flight together, you had your nose pressed to the taxi window all the way into the city, we had a meal together -- just like today. But a year ago, we couldn't order any Sake because you had another flight later that day. Today, we can," he told you earnestly, though he ended his sentence with a blink-and-you-missed-it wink.
"How do you remember all that?" you whispered, frankly a bit flabbergasted that his memory was so good.
Yunhyeong simply shrugged before lifting his hand casually to wave over a server.
"Une bouteille de vin, s'il vous plait. Chateau Cos d'Estournel," he requested once the server arrived, the language flowing beautifully from his lips.
"Oui, Monsieur," the server muttered with a nod before turning on their heel and dashing elegantly toward the back of the restaurant.
You honestly weren't quite sure what to make of all this. First, Yunhyeong had arranged for you to fly to Paris as a friend-aversary gift. Second, he had told you that you look fantastic. Third, he had remembered virtually every detail of the first day the two of you had met. Fourth, he had just ordered a bottle of wine in nearly perfect French. In an incredibly romantic restaurant. In Paris.
"What kind of wine did you order?" you asked after clearing away the anxiety stuck in your throat.
Yunhyeong shot you a smirk, one so pleased and adorable that the anxiety you'd just cleared away came back with a vengeance. "Only the best," he replied.
Correction: he had just ordered a bottle of the best wine in nearly perfect French. In an incredibly romantic restaurant. In Paris.
The server returned, bottle and glasses in hand, only a couple of minutes later, deftly setting the wine glasses down in front of each of you and pouring the dark red liquid expertly.
"Merci," Yunhyeong murmured as the server left the bottle on the bottle on the table. "Encore quelques minutes avant de commander, s'il vous plait."
Again, the server nodded, turned on their heel, and dashed away.
Before you got the chance to ask what he'd said, Yunhyeong reached for his glass, lifting it gently by the stem and locking eyes with you. "To a full year of working together and, more importantly, being friends. And to, hopefully, many more to come. Many, many more," he toasted with that sparkle in his eye you knew so well.
"Many more," you managed to say, clinking your glass with his before surreptitiously taking a rather large gulp. After setting your glass down carefully, you pushed your chair back from the table. "I will -- oh, god, that wine is delicious. I just need to powder my nose, I'll be right back. If the server returns while I'm gone, I would like the boeuf bourguignon."
"Mm, yes, of course, go ahead," Yunhyeong replied quickly, his eyes on you as you swerved around the table to get to the restroom.
The second you ducked into the minuscule cubicle labeled Toilettes, you closed and locked the door behind you and slid your phone out of your pocket.
You had no time to think about time zones, and the person you were calling kept a very irregular schedule anyway; he could be awake at any hour of the day.
After three and a half rings, your heart racing the whole time, the line clicked, and you heard a somewhat sleepy "Yo," in your ear.
"Jae," you whispered. "I need to talk to you."
"...Where are you, and why are you whispering?"
"It doesn't matter. I mean, where I am does matter. I'm in Paris, and --"
"Dude, in Paris?! Since when?!"
"Since today, and that's part of it."
"Part of what?"
"Just let me explain!"
"Okay, okay, I'm listening."
You took a deep breath, hoping to calm your nerves so you could tell him everything without skipping any important detail. "You know my co-worker, Yunhyeong, right?"
"The dude you had a crush on for --"
"We're friends, okay," you interrupted. "But, yes. That one. Well, he surprised me by changing my schedule behind my back so we could fly to Paris and stay here for a few days. Because it's our friend-aversary -- he said that, not me. He literally used the word 'friend-aversary.' And he's taken me to this little restaurant by our hotel, and it's super romantic and charming, and he told me I look fantastic, and he mentioned something about him being incredibly less attractive than me, and he ordered their best bottle of wine, and he made this toast that was like 'to one year of friendship and many more to come. Many, many more.' And I just -- I don't know what to think."
Jae was quiet for quite a while, and you knew that meant he was thinking.
"I mean..." he began after almost half a minute. "I think you do know what to think, Y/N."
"...I do?"
"Mhm."
You knew what you wanted to think. You wanted to think that Yunhyeong was actually being more than friendly. You wanted to think he was flirting with you.
"But he's a naturally friendly kind of guy," you explained. "He's super charming and outgoing, and everyone likes him. That kind of guy."
"Have you ever witnessed him flirting with someone?" Jae asked patiently.
"...I don't think so."
"Has he ever talked to you about anyone that he's romantically interested in?"
"...No."
"And when I have been romantically interested in someone, have I talked to you about it?"
"...Yes. But that's different --"
"It's not different. I talk to you about that kind of stuff because I don't feel that way about you. No offense."
"None taken," you answered without missing a beat.
"But," Jae continued. "If I did feel that way about you, there's no way I would tell you about other people I'm interested in. Probably because I wouldn't be interested in other people, just you. This is purely hypothetical, by the way."
"Yeah, I know," you huffed, doing nothing to hide your annoyance. That's just the kind of relationship you had with Jae -- the two of you could be completely honest with each other. No holds barred, no hard feelings. "So... you're saying the reason he doesn't talk to me about that is because... he likes me?"
"I mean, it's not a foolproof theory, but I would say it's highly likely."
You stood there, blinking for a few seconds without replying. And then, "...So, what do I do?"
"I dunno, man."
"What do you mean you don't know?!"
"What do you want to do?!"
"I don't know!"
"Do you like him?"
"I've spent the past several months pretending I don't, but yes. I do."
"Then just tell him. Or ask him. Bring it up."
"But what if --"
"'What ifs' will ruin your life, Y/N," Jae scolded. "You either need to tell him, or you need to let it go. And if you don't decide tonight, you're going to let it distract you from having an amazing time in Paris."
You almost wanted to curse him for knowing you so well.
"What does your gut tell you?" he asked.
It seemed cheesy, but in order to answer his question, you closed your eyes. You took a deep breath and let it out slowly. And you listened.
Yunhyeong was a friendly person, there was no doubt about that. He greeted everyone with a smile. He was helpful to everyone. He was, quite literally, the perfect Flight Attendant. But... there was something about that sparkle. The sparkle in his eye you knew so well -- remember that? You had always thought it was just his adorably mischievous side coming out, but... what if you were wrong.
What if that sparkle was just for you? And what if you knew it so well because he'd liked you this whole time?
The more you thought about it, the more you knew Jae was right.
You wouldn't come out and tell him that, of course, but he was right.
"My gut tells me that I need to tell him," you finally said, your voice soft but sure.
"Then go for it, my dude," Jae replied with an obvious smile.
His smile was contagious, and the corners of your lips curved up. "I will. Thank you."
"It's what I'm here for. And also poke bowl cravings. I'm here for that, too."
"Of course," you chuckled. "All right, I'm going to go back out there. Wish me luck."
"You don't need it," Jae assured you before he hung up.
After sliding your phone back into your pocket, you smoothed down the front of your trousers, tugged at the shoulders of your shirt, let out a quick exhale... and opened the door.
Tumblr media
"I'm so sorry about that," you said, chuckling breathlessly as you took your seat at the table once again.
"No, not at all," Yunhyeong grinned. "I just ordered a couple of minutes ago, so you didn't miss anything. Except my expert French."
"I am only letting you order when we go to eat somewhere, by the way." You returned his smile, picking up your wine glass and taking a sip -- not a gulp this time.
"Well, who am I to say 'no' to you?"
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, and you took that as your queue to actually go through with what you'd talked about on the phone with Jae.
"Can I..." you began, trying to maintain eye contact with him but finding yourself glancing at your wine glass. "Ask you something?"
Yunhyeong's brow furrowed gently, and he tilted his head the tiniest bit. "Of course."
"Is... this... a date?"
Four words had never been so nerve-wracking to say.
"Well, yes, of course, it is," he replied without hesitation. "It's our --"
"Friend-aversary," you finished for him. "But I mean... not a friend date. Like... a real date?"
Okay, those were the most nerve-wracking words you'd ever said.
Yunhyeong's expression immediately softened, but you couldn't tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing. He no longer looked curious or confused, and you kind of felt like he should be?
Unless... he wasn't confused about the answer or curious why you'd asked.
"I..."
It seemed like an eternity before he continued on, though in reality, it was but a few moments.
"...Would like it to be. If you feel the same."
And Jae was right again.
You shifted in your seat, pressing your lips together to stop yourself from bursting into a grin. "I do, actually."
"Really?" Yunhyeong sighed. He reached one hand out, covering your fingers with his and gripping them.
When you nodded in response, Yunhyeong let out another sigh, hanging his head briefly before lifting it up to lock his gaze on you. "I've been wanting to go on a date with you for a long time," he admitted, though he certainly didn't sound shy about it.
"A long time?!" you laughed incredulously. "I've liked you for a long time!"
Yunhyeong quirked a brow at you. "...How long is long?"
"As long as possible. Since the first day. Remember how I kissed you on the cheek? I thought that was a pretty big giveaway that I was interested, but you didn't do anything about it, so I just thought we were going to be friends."
As soon as you'd said 'the first day,' Yunhyeong's jaw had dropped. And somehow, he even managed to make that look attractive.
"The first -- But I thought you were just thanking me!"
"...With a kiss on the cheek?" you chuckled.
"Well, yeah! Obviously! I didn't know it meant anything other than that!"
You lifted your other hand and placed it atop his, sandwiching his hand between your own. "For someone who always knows exactly how I'm feeling, how did you not pick up on that?" you asked, only slightly teasing.
Yunhyeong let out a huff and rolled his eyes at himself. "Let me tell you, I have never been able to pick up on cues like that. Not once in my life have I ever known when someone was flirting with me."
So, all this time... if you had just expressed your interest to his face...
Jae's words on the phone not ten minutes ago echoed in your head: What ifs will ruin your life, Y/N.
"Well," you said," picking up his hand and placing a soft, lingering kiss on his knuckles. "Just so you know, this is me flirting with you."
Yunhyeong threw his head back laughing, and you didn't care that all of the other patrons in the restaurant turned to look. You simply beamed over at him, stretching your legs out to tangle your ankles with his under the table.
Once the echo of his laughter faded away, he squeezed your hand and gazed at you with the most heart-wrenching smile. "I won't lie, I was wondering if you were going to figure it out."
"Figure what out?"
"Paris, the restaurant, the wine, the toast... I didn't think I was being subtle."
"No, you weren't," you chuckled. "Which is why I had to go to the toilettes and call Jae to ask his advice."
"That's what you were doing?!"
You nodded, your chuckle gently evolving into a laugh.
"Well," he said, his thumb skimming over the back of your hand. "Remind me to thank him when we get home."
You nodded once more, but his words -- as dumb as it sounds -- reminded you that you were, indeed, not at home. You were in Paris.
With Yunhyeong.
You were in the City of Love with someone you -- well, you didn't love him in that way right now, but you could certainly see yourself getting there one day.
Maybe even one day soon.
...This was going to be the best layover ever.

Tumblr media
“Have you ever consider that you might be my soulmate, Y/n?”
You should’ve been flipping table, throwing a fit, destroying your little apartment at the nonchalantness of his question... At the existent of that very question. Yet here you lay, eyes still glue on the white noises spewing from your TV, not even batting an eye at those words. Not to say that it never did... Just, when you had heard that same question falling from the cherry soft lips of your handsome prince of a best friend thousands of times over, somehow, even as magical as Song Yunhyeong is, it had lost its power.
Face it, the topic of soulmate in this day and age, although no longer what it once was, still very much something that could strike the heart of the toughest guys and color rosy every girl’s cheeks.
“No, not really, never cross my mind.”
For any onlooker, that respond was formed almost absentmindedly, a bit too heartless even. However, taken in the dynamic of your relationship with Yunhyeong, it’s anything but. You’d without a shadow of a doubt, unashamedly admit that countless time before you’ve considered it, soulmate, just the simple uttering of the word already sending shiver down your spine... Of course you’ve considered it.
So then why the sarcastic answer?  That question itself nearly as loaded as the one he had asked, the kind of question that had been mulled over for so many moon it had began taking root, twisting and winding its grasp around your heart until it was unbearable to even look at him. Because it’s a question too hard to swallow, and so deep that the only respond you could utter without dredging up physical matters of the heart is sarcasm.
For one, you’ve lost count of just how many time Yunhyeong had brought up that very concern. Any sign, need not be one out of the ordinary, just any old sign of your mundane life could be the sign. Grabbing for the glass of water at the same time? Soulmate. Blurting out the same order at a new restaurant for your monthly food adventure? Soulmate. Even getting up to go to the damn restroom at the same time could be a sign for him.
“No shit, Song Yunhyeong, you only mention it like every other second.”
“I know, but have you really consider it though? You as my soulmate?” His sweet voice rings out once more, fighting against the bubbling and clanking of pots in your tiny kitchen.
“I mean...” You pause letting the thought once again steeps your brain in its fairytale liked nature, pausing a bit too long for just how pragmatic and casual you had remained at the sensitive subject. “How much considering can I do when the symptom aren’t there.” You say as your heart clenches with every word your lips utter, why can’t he see that you’ve considered it, dreamt it, wished upon the star it. None of that matter if the cosmic is against you and him, against your heart intertwining in a dance of that searing pain of heartbeat syncing then the beautiful breathtaking moments to follow. The universe is as conniving as it is heartless having your heart’s desire reminding you times and times again of what you can’t have.
You could almost see his heart drops and a frown beginning to form under that dulling smile of his as a soft defeated “you’re right” tumbles from those kissable lips. No matter how hard Yunhyeong tried to hide the disappointment threatening to vomit from the deep corners of his heart and soul with that brilliant smile of his, it’d always be obvious to you because well, you feel the same way.
There’s no denying the physical attractiveness your best friend possesses that quite honestly stole your breath on so many occasions, down right had you staring now and then in the most random moments of life.  Not to mention, the chemistry between the two of you could fools stranger into believing you were meant for each other, left people closest to you both wondering how it could even be possible for your hearts not to belong to one another.
It’s not as if you hated when he brings up this topic, quite opposite actually, you love it with every bits of your soul. The idea of having the boyfriend of all boyfriends being the person to have and to hold for the rest of your life, who in their right mind wouldn’t want that. You love Yunhyeong, no doubt about that, long fallen for the caring man and all of his quirkiness sometimes borderline cringy... Long before the fame and success.
You’ve even considered just saying yes, to end both yours and his suffering with one simple word, falling into each other arms and get lost in the moment but you love him too much for that, to rob him of his one true love. What’s more, you love yourself too much to bear the thought of maybe a year, a month, or even a day into this fantasy relationship, his soulmate could be strolling down the street to put an end to all this nonsense. That’s not a pain you want to nor did you think to be able to survive. Alas, this is not a world where two people frivolously fall in love and ride off into the sunset without a care for anyone else but themselves. This is a world where everybody is bound by their destiny no matter how much one detest the outcome. If only the soulmate drug works on ordinary matter of the heart also.
To have him in that moment, to lose yourself in him in that one second is enough for you to be happy for the rest of the days. You love the way he makes you feel as though you’re the most special person in the world, how his smile perks up the moment you step into the room even if he had been dying on the floor from being yelled at by Hanbin for not getting the choreograph right the 10th time that night. It’s comical, stupid even that you’re denying yourself happiness because of some stupid old tradition that meant to ensure the survival of the human race. Aren’t the Earth overpopulated anyways, can the divine stop playing with people’s hearts like sex toys. Life must have a great sense of humor because it had presented you the perfect human being yet all you will ever be allow to call him is best friend.
A quick wipe of his hands on the white apron so snugly tied around his waist, accentuating his fitted figure a bit too well, Yunhyeong returns his attention to the bubbling pot on the stove, delectable scent permeate through your tiny apartment that was much too peasant-liked to fit his prince image. It was your weekly dinner and as always, Yunhyeong has a recipe or two up his sleeves that he’d like to experiment on you before serving it up to the boys. Although by now, there’s an inkling within your heart that the truth is far from that. Since when has the iKon boys really care what their chef make, they weren’t picky enough of eaters for Yunhyeong to be going through such great length. If anything, they’d love it even more if he experiment more with food at home.
Sauntering into the boiling hot kitchen, you did your best to peek from the side of the tall man blocking nearly the whole width of your small stove, slaving away with two pots and a few mixing bowls all at once.
“Yunhyeong, you know we can just do take out, right? You don’t need to work so hard every week cooking for me.”
“Shh, you eat take out too much. Eat some real food for once, plus, I need to practice making these dishes anyways.”
You smile but deep within a sadness lurking about of a future where these weekly “date” will ceased to exist the moment his soulmate comes into play. Cease to exist too will be the flirty banter and carefree playfulness in your words to each other, you will no longer be the only girl he could confide in and snuggle close till you both fall asleep from talking till morning comes. Of course all you want is for him to be happy but you couldn’t help the small part of yourself that want to keep Yunhyeong, to be able to be selfish when it comes to him. You won’t be able to love him any longer and you’re not quite sure how to deal with that, not quite yet. You know Yunhyeong won’t abandon you but the thought of never being anything more than his best friend, it hurts.
Lost in a world without Yunhyeong, you carelessly pick up the boiling kettle steaming away and shouting by the stout oblivious to Yunhyeong screams of warning. The pain scorching your skin not nearly as intense as the pain still lingering in your heart from the hypothetical world and it wasn’t until far too late that you had let go, clanking of the kettle along with the splashing of scalding hot water sear deep into your arms. The pain slowly sinking in, body curling up to cope with the unbearable pain but the frightful scream stolen from your throat, in place of it, a muted gasping of air. Yunhyeong dives to catch you in his arms, your names tumbling from his lips like prayers, wishing it had been him at the receiving end of the caustic boiling liquid.
Mind blank and pain unbearable, seemingly all the functioning braincell you’ve managed to control poured into one thing, tears. Tears overflowing like a broken dam blurring away the panic on his face. Your hands clutching desperately, body pressing tightly against his as if Yunhyeong is your last lifeline in the middle of a category 5 storm.
The how and when seemingly escaped your mind as the next second your frantic mind had gotten a grasp on reality, you were already in a room with blinding lights, kind smiles of the nurse tending to your redden arms sooth just a bit of pain away. Yunhyeong not far behind, feet could barely stay still as he did his best to be out of the way of the nurse. Yet you know, the worry in his eyes, the way he’s balling up the seam of his shirt convey the weight upon his shoulders. No sooner than the nurse had given the poor boy the go head, he flies straight to your side, unsure if it should be a mountain worth of scolding for your carelessness or intense cries of hurt to be first to leave his mouth.
“Yunhyeong, I am literally fine. Cease your worrying!” you chuckle, doing your best to ease the tension off his trembling body but you know that was futile.
“Y/n, be for real right now. Do you know I almost had a heart attack?? How could you be laughing right now?”  He gripes, hands already grab your bandaged one with the most delicateness as if it was made out of snowflakes.
“I am serious. I am okay Yunhyeong.” You muttered, although uncertainties ravage your brain. The searing pain in your chest was as real as the first moment you had felt it as your world blurred just a few hours ago. Yet what else could you say but to assure your best friend that all was right in the world. You were convinced his head would explode if you even cough right this second.
“Really? you’re certain?” He questioned you, a strange tone danced between the worries. He finally settled down on the chair beside your bed with an odd expression painted across his face, uneasiness rose in your chest.
“Yea... I think I’d know if I wasn’t okay, dork.” you quipped and settled down too into your bed. Eyes strained on the bright light above, a twinge of nausea rushed through your body. “Hey, you think we can get out of here anytime soon? I don’t feel comfortable here.” You nudged Yunhyeong with a slight smile, tearing him away from whatever dream that was occupied his thought.
“Right, yea, let me check with the front desk.”
Yunhyeong scuttled off and for the first time in a long time, you were glad your best friend wasn’t by your side. A long sigh huffed from your lungs to mingled with the sterilized air of the bustling ER. What was this strange feeling heavy on your chest? In the short hours between a dinner anticipated ruined by your carelessness and now, something between you and Yunhyeong had changed. Something major yet so subtle, tangible yet whenever you reached your fingers forward it dissipated in an instant. What did you missed? Your thought cut short as Yunhyeong rushed back to your side, papers clutched in hand.
“We’re all good to go!”
Another blink and you were back in the passenger seat of Yunhyeong’s car, fast steading home. The silent that was once peaceful now stuffy, heavy. The lyrics vibrating through the dense air of the car, gibberish, nonsense as your eyes trained to the fast passing road. What compelled you to utter these next few words and break the uncomfortable silent, you did not know. However the can of worm your words opened up was one you were wholeheartedly unprepared for.
“Are we alright?” You muttered reluctantly.
Yunhyeong stayed silent. Lips pursed and you could see his knuckles ghosted white as his grip on the steering wheel tightened. You could almost hear the gears in his brain churning, carefully calculating whatever it is that was about to come out of his lips.
“You really have never considered us...” Those familiar words breathed from his lips yet it wasn’t a question, it wasn’t a joke, or even a statement. The connotation weighed heavy.
“Yunhyeong... You only bring it up every other hour, any sane person would considered.” You tried to lighten the boulders that was this conversation yet it only seemed to made the strange expression on his features soured further. “I think enough happened today, is it really the time to bring this up again?”
“Is it really that preposterous, the idea of us being more than this limbo we’ve both lied ourselves into?” Yunhyeong gritted his teeth and shattered your belief that he could never be anything other than sunshine and happiness.
“Limbo- Yunhyeong if you have something to say then just say it. I don’t think either of us benefit from this dance we’ve done thousand times before.” You exasperated, searing pain still dancing through your chest.
“Is it so impossible, me and you. You’ve never once gave me a straight answer. You keep me around as if I’m an option yet the moment i bring up anything remotely close to suggesting we could be more, you laughed it off as if i’m just a big joke.” The words he spoked, it registered yet it made no sense... a joke? how could he think you thought of him as a joke.
“Yunhyeong, how could you thin-” The words lost within the harsh gasp clawing its way out of your throat, harsh enough to earn concern from Yunhyeong. Fingers hastily pressing at the button to roll down the window, cold air hit your face as tears burned your cheeks. “You think it’s fun for me? To have ever other conversation we have circled the drain right into ‘ha ha what if we were more than just friends’...” Your words fighting, muffling against the wind rushing by. If you could, you’d jump right out the window and evaporate within the wind.
“Well, you’ve never given me any other indication-”
“Song Yunhyeong, have you so wrapped up in your own mind and heart that you failed to consider what it would mean for me to really considered us?” Exasperated, there was no stopping your pain from rushing out now. “For me to let myself fall into this perfect world of being yours, of being on top of the world and in love with my best friend, and then to watch as you get a better... a real soulmate? We all knew this bullshit cosmic chosen one is inevitable and one day... One day I will have to watch you walk out of my life. There goes all our dinner date, the late night phone calls, there go my heart and soul along with whatever time you chose to give me.” Tear, snot, what have you... It didn’t matter anymore. It was not time to be polite, that was long gone. You’ve tried to protect his feelings and yours for far too long now and it bit you in the ass. Perhaps now you both could move on and whether or not this friendship will survive the pain, who knows... Before you knew it, the car had slowed to a stop. Head hung low, Yunhyeong was silent and emotions indecipherable. One thing you were sure of, he was crying, shoulders gently shrugging against the stale air of perhaps the end of you and him.
“I’m sorry.” That was the first thing to break the sniffles coming endless from both you and him. For the first time since the car had halted to a stop that he had looked up at you, dejectedly. “I’m so sorry, Y/n... I know it was selfish of me...”
“It’s okay, Yunhyeong... There was never an easy way for this conversation to happen... No matter what, we’d be hurt.” At the worst moment of your life, your body gave out perhaps from stress, perhaps from the uncertainties of tomorrow. Hand grasping at your chest, a ragged breath barely escape your lips before his hand was on your back, caressing comfort into your chilled skin.
“I’m so sorry I lost my temper... I was just, frustrated. I don’t know how else to make you see the way I feel, symptoms or not... But especially after tonight, I just lost it.” That soft smile, the same one you’ve dream of once more bloomed on his lips. “You are literally hunching over in pain and you’re still denying it.” Confusion cold against all your features. It felt as if all the air had vacated your lungs, your brain, your blood. A sudden lightness taken over as you stared at the boy you’ve loved for so long incredulously.
“What...” That was all you could mustered up.
“Have you not questioned at all why you ended up in the ER? Gave me the worst fright of my life? I mean yea I nearly had a heart attack watching you grabbed the hot kettle bare hand but I know you’re strong. A little burn would have never taken you out like that! The moment I caught you in my arms, it was as if someone had used a stun gun on me. The pain was the worst i’ve felt but it was electrifying!” A cheerfulness levitated, pushing out the cold air that had staled over.
“Wait... You’re saying...” The weight of the world suddenly dissipated and it was as if you could fly. A loud cry left your lips, startling the boy who wasn’t sure if he should laugh or join in with your cry. However that smile, the real smile that he hadn’t seen in a bit blossoming on your lips, it was all he needed to know.
The next second he had draped himself across the middle console and pulled you right into his arms. Cries then laughters emanating from your intertwined bodies. His hand gently running through your hair, caressing away all the worries and all the dreads that had built up over the months, years of pining after him... And yours, gripping tightly on the man that will be yours. There were still much to say, much to hash out before you and him could be “us”. However in this moment, in this second where the realization that what you both had wanted but fear was out of reach was now possible, just silent was enough. You had him and he had you, that was enough. The conversation will be had but it was no longer one that was out of reach. It was one of a certain future, of being together.

iKON imagine : you making them a playlist
KIM JINHWAN
It was another one of your date nights where both of you got dressed in your favorite neutral matching hoodies styles in your own unique ways and just decided to stay back at home and enjoy each other’s company rather than going out in the chilling november night. Jinhwan suggested cooking at home rather than ordering out because he was sick of all the delivery food they usually ate back at the dorm. You connect your phone to the speakers while jinhwan rummaged through your fridge only finding a can of spam and instant rice that he wanted to eat, skipping all the veggies because why not. You play the last playlist you made while thinking of your lovely ppuyo, filled with all kinds of ambient ghibli songs especially joe hisaishi, his favourite from all the ghibli movies you’ve watched with him. You trudge back to him to look at what he picked out to eat, and hugged your boyfriend from behind kissing his soft jawline right under his ear.
“I made you a playlist” you smile and nudge your nose into his heart shaped mole on his cheekbone.
“i love when you do that for me, I’ve been waiting for a new one for 3 weeks now” He giggled and sat on the kitchen stool looking through your playlist and exploding on the insides with all the cigarettes after sex songs you’ve added while you start working on your spam musubi you decided on right after you looked at the ingredients.
you wait for the spam to caramelize with the sauce and seasonings when jinan pushes your back to the counter kissing your neck swaying your pressed bodies slowly to the rhythm while Truly played through your apartment’s kitchen. the melodies flowing like a sweet scent entangling with the savoury flavoured scent of spam and furikake in the rice.
“let’s cancel dates more often please” he smiled between the kiss as you reciprocated him.
SONG YUNHYEONG
As caring as yunhyeong is to you you could not stop thinking about him the moment you heard “Those Eyes”. you swore you could feel your eyes water ar the chorus remembering all the smallest and softest moments with him.like the time he just simply made an eye contact act smiled at you, or the time when je sat you down at a cafe when you went out with him and the boys just to come back with a new pair of cute sandals and a spare handkerchief because your socks were wet from the rain that you didn’t notice. You added the song a new playlist and adding a few more until you felt the playlist justified your feelings for him.
you wait for your boyfriend to get back home from donghyuk’s studio and decide to sketch and listen to the playlist you just made for him while it rained outside.
Yunhyeong walked into his apartment late that evening and straight to his bedroom when he heard songs playing. He walked in to see you sleeping on the desk over your sketchbook, hair a mess, wearing his hoodie and a half drunk cup of chamomile tea. He immediately picked you up and carried you to bed. cleaning up after you, he looked through your sketchbook proudly admiring every stroke of pencil that was etched on the page. He started closing the tabs of your laptop showing your art reference board, and opening the spotify tab to close it and broke into the sweetest smile when he read the playlist knowing exactly what it meant--- ‘to my nivea prince’. He read through the song titles leaving it to play in to background as he washed up and joined your sleepy self for a cuddle session in bed.
KIM JIWON
It was bobby who proposed doing a road trip would be a good idea. Both of you felt awkward going somewhere you potentially had noting to do that you could plan of, so bobby with your approval asked the boys out with both of you, except donghyuk and jinhwan who had to stay back for work the other three boys agreed to join in. Yunhyeong suggested goin to the nearest beach and you all could burn sparklers and watch the sunrise and come back.
You, as someone who could never function without music, HAD to make a “road trip playlist” with all the songs you and bobby loved to sing along to.
The others were in the backseat the next morning, arguing over a window seat, while yunhyeong just gave up and sat in between flicking their foreheads. you and bobby laughed at them .
“kimbap!! I made us a playlist” you cheer at him as he quickly connected your phone to the car. His smile only getting bigger as if it was physically possible recognizing all the songs you both usually jam to with praises and “OH THIS ONE TOO omg you’re the best babe” everytime a new but familiar song came up.
You look out of the window breathing in the slightly salty fresh air of the beach while Bobby sang along to tonguetied with all his might and junhoe joined along smiling as you look back at the silly little smile on the face of your silly little boyfriend who you silly little heart could never get enough of.
KIM DONGHYUK
You could never get enough of the way donghyuk was never lacking at showing how much he loved you with signs of his subtle affection. His hugs? heaven. His voice? the sweetest even when he woke you up in the morning with kisses and humming your favourite songs. Did he really need to be so damn perfect?
You knew he was home late from choreographing iKON’s performance on kingdom. You woke up before him and called jinan to know his schedule so you could wake him up in time. Learning he had no work until late afternoon. you decided to make him some freshly brewed coffee and toast with eggs because you were not someone who wakes up early forget making a proper breakfast and not just living off cereal. But for him? bet you did. you search for an old playlist you had made for him and and add the splash of espresso into your glasses waking up donhyuk while bluberry eyes played in the background.
Waking up a grumpy and tired donghyuk was tiresome but donghyuk’s frown changed into a smile with lightning speed as soon as you layed down on topo oh him, you head in the crook of his neck kissing his sleep away. He smiles and wiggles up from bed as your kisses are accompanied with tickles. You smile and get up too.
“you almost have the half day free, and i made breakfast also i used the machine to brew the coffee myself ALSO DONG do you remember this playlist i made for yo-” you feel his drag you into bed laying down on your chest and shutting you up with a kiss all in one swift motion.
“shut up and cuddle me now, we can reheat the breakfast, and the next song is I like me better by LAUV” he says as the playlist just plays the same.
KOO JONHOE
Junhoe was on his desk with his journal for poems and In the rain  by lee moon sae playing on loop, while you were reading a book. You decide to stop when your eyes feel strained and call his name a several times. he finally turns around finishing his doodle at the end of the page and throws some punches.... at you..? and goes “mwo?” with a satoori dialect followed by a goofy grin with his entire set of teeth on display. Not at all surprised by your boyfriend’s very questionable behavior, you scoot away and call him to join you in bed because you were, well, bored or maybe you wanted to cuddle him, you had no idea.
Junhoe quickly nods and goes for a snack run tp the kitchen with some dry chocolate cereal to snack on, it was a weird thing both of you enjoyed, snacking on dry cereals. After the same song played for the 14th time in a row you turn it off.
“June-ya let’s make a playlist together”
“OH OFCOURSE YESSS” he agrees pulling out his phone almost as soon as you finish your sentence.
Both of you add one song each by taking turns and after a while you both are two giddy little kids play fighting over how both of you wanted to add just the same songs because your music tastes are so similar. The ‘listening to playlist we just made” session transforms into a karaoke session where both of you sing teenage dream in your best voices (according to junhoe) when a wild sleepy donghyuk knocks into junhoe’s room with wierd hair and and a blanket that was sweeping the floor and barely opened eyes asking both of you to keep it down and almost fell back asleep on junhoe’s floor as both of you laughed your asses off at the “dongttopi” that had showed up.
JUNG CHANWOO
You coudn’t sleep and you knew your boyfriend and also best friend was definitely up typing away on his pc playing animal crossing. Not expecting him to reply while gaming you just got more bored and sulked, rolling around on your bed. You open and close the same apps for the next 20 minutes and finally decide to play a song, My type  by iKON. You smiled to yourself wondering if chanwoo ever thought about you listening to that.
You kept listening to ikon songs and randomly made a playlist of all these cutest love songs mostly kpop.
Finally satisfied with your work you decided to text chanwoo the link with a caption “i made you a playlist :]”
surprising you he immediately texted back and that was followed by a call about 15 minutes later.
“why’d you call this late chanu”
“hii to you too (Y/N), *laughs* and i just wanted to hear your voice i’ll hang up if you don’t wanna sing to me while i play”
“I didnt mean it like that i was ju-”
“so you’re gonna sing to me now? you can’t say no or i’ll show up as your sleep paralysis demon in yunhyeong’s blue armaani swimming shorts”
“oh my god chanwoo *laugh* okay but i don’t mind such a adorable demon showing up tho”
“aight bet i’m turning off my computer and coming over but don’t hang up sing me your favourite song from the playlist i loved it”
“wait really?what? uhh- chan- okay ig it is SAVIOUR then” you smile through the phone and feel him smile back softly, singing Saviour by LeeHi through the phone to him hearing him exit the dorm and get into the elevator to come visit you at 2 am. Silly Chanwoo.

BEST FRIEND iKon A⇴Z HEADCANON ⇴ Song Yunhyeong
Tumblr media
A ⇴ ATTENTION
Being your best friend is something that Yunhyeong is proud of, and with that he definitely takes on the role as your protector too. He doesn’t let anyone else pay more attention than he does, after all, he’s your best friend.
B ⇴ BICKER
When you want to try and wind each other up, bickering will definitely be how you go about it. You both know exactly what the right thing to say is in order to annoy the other person, and if one of you is in the right mood to bicker then you’ll definitely try and start something by being mean to one another.
C ⇴ COMFORT
His empathetic nature makes Yunhyeong almost perfect whenever you need comforting. It usually goes well for so long, but once he begins to pick up on the fact that you’re feeling better, he’ll try and make you laugh. Most of the time, his joke will fall flat and end up giving you a new reason to be annoyed.
D ⇴ DISAGREEMENTS
One of the things that the two of you are good at is communicating after any disagreements between the two of you take place. Most of the time you managed to talk things out before anything happened, but if it did, then you’d give yourselves a little bit of time to cool off before deciding to call so that you could both explain where you came from and understand where the other came from as well.
E ⇴ EARLY YEARS
You had to be professional when you first met Yunhyeong, but as he got to know you, he wanted you to stick around. He could tell that you were a little reserved around him when the two of you first met and so he worked hard to make sure that you knew Yunhyeong was someone you could be comfortable around. He made you smile and made you feel safe which was how things got easier between you two.
F ⇴ FAMILY
Yunhyeong’s family were incredibly close to you, almost like a family to you too. Yunhyeong put a lot of effort into introducing you to his family at the start of your friendship as he knew that you’d be sticking around for a long time. Over time, the bond that you had with his family got tighter and tighter as they looked after you and helped you out when you needed them, even if Yunhyeong wasn’t there.
G ⇴ GETTING TOGETHER
Although sometimes you were a little bit hesitant, Yunhyeong will often somehow convince you to go on a bike ride with you. He loves exploring and cycling around to new places, as with your helmets on the two of you were pretty unrecognisable for any fans who might have been walking around.
H ⇴ HABITS
The two of you had a habit of teasing the other members, Yunhyeong somehow found a way to get you involved in him teasing the boys quite a lot of the time. You tried to sit back and just let him tease them, but soon enough your name would be mentioned, and you’d be left with no choice but to play along too.
I ⇴ INSIDE JOKES
Usually, your inside jokes came from the moments when Yunhyeong embarrassed himself around you. You never let him forget when he ended up making a fool of himself, using your inside jokes to try and get your way, using them to blackmail Yunhyeong often under the threat of sharing those jokes with others.
J ⇴ JEALOUSY
If anything, your other friends were jealous of you for being able to call Yunhyeong your best friend. He was warm and inviting towards everyone, qualities that many others wished they had in their best friends. Quite a few of your close friends mentioned how lucky you were to be able to call Yunhyeong your best friend as they all watched and admired how caring and considerate he was towards you.
K ⇴ KICKS
Yunhyeong got a kick out of pranking you, often trying to find a new way to make you jump. You had to keep on your toes with Yunhyeong as your best friend, as he was forever hiding behind doors to make you jump or setting up pranks to terrify you when you were walking around somewhere unassumingly.
L ⇴ LOVE
He loved how the two of you never got bored of being around one another. You didn’t necessarily have to be doing anything too thrilling and over the top, even just sitting at home and talking to one another still put a smile on your face. You both knew the things that you enjoyed doing when you were together so that you could avoid doing anything that risked making the two of you bored at any point.
M ⇴ MEETING
The two of you first met when you were working as part of the crew during one of the group’s shows. You didn’t say too much to Yunhyeong as you were a little too shy to approach him, but actually the way that you avoided him was what pulled him towards you and made him want to introduce himself.
N ⇴ NONSENSE
Plenty of cheese comes from Yunhyeong as he tries to be as funny as he can around you. He knows that it makes you smile deep down, even if he does catch your eyes rolling and hear sighs from you at the same time.
O ⇴ OBSESSION
Yunhyeong was obsessed with hearing your laughter, even if sometimes you were laughing at him rather than laughing with him, just knowing that you were happy was more than enough for Yunhyeong.
P ⇴ PRECIOUS MOMENTS
The moments that make him laugh with you are the most precious to Yunhyeong. He doesn’t care where you are or what it is that the two of you are doing, the moments that mean the most to Yunhyeong are just the ones when he’s enjoying himself and feeling as if he’s on top of the world with you.
Q ⇴ QUESTIONS
It doesn’t matter what it is that’s on his mind, Yunhyeong will ask you about it. You’re the one that his random thoughts get dumped on as he tries to understand things, or just talk about absolute nonsense too.
R ⇴ RANDOM FACTS
Quite often during the day when you know that you’re going to be hanging out with Yunhyeong, you’ll get a text mid-afternoon with the menu for the evening. Yunhyeong likes to be well prepared, but he also likes to make sure that he cooks your favourites, so he’ll get your opinions well in advance.
S ⇴ SUPPORT
Although he loves that you come to work events to support the whole group, Yunhyeong loves especially when you have a compliment for Yunhyeong especially. He’ll stand back and let you tell the whole group they did well, but his smile will be at its biggest when you tell just him how good he was on stage.
T ⇴ TRIPS
Whenever the two of you go on a trip, everything is on Yunhyeong’s shoulders. He prides himself on organising the perfect trip for the two of you and refuses to let you do anything no matter how many times you offer.
U ⇴ ULTIMATE
Having you right by his side was a huge comfort for Yunhyeong, knowing you were there was just the biggest relief for him.
V ⇴ VISITS
Quite often Yunhyeong would appear at your workplace or at your apartment with meals for you. If he had some leftovers from cooking, then he’d take them to you to make sure that you were looking after yourself.
W ⇴ WISDOM
With his advice, Yunhyeong always lets you know that he’s there for you and supporting you whatever you choose to do.
X ⇴ XXXX
Above all else, you love receiving hugs from Yunhyeong as they are incredibly comforting. He knows exactly how to hold onto you to make you feel as if you’re not along and try and put the smile onto your face.
Y ⇴ YOU
You were his number one, no one else came close to toppling you off.
Z ⇴ ZZZ
Most of the time you would stay at Yunhyeong’s if you wanted to spend the evening together. He loved inviting you over and using that as an excuse to cook for you and make sure that you were well fed.

Summary: idol!boyfriend!Yunhyeong takes you out at night after noticing you feel sad
[a/n]: i'm sad rn so what better thing to do than write this lovely request! also i hope the anon who requested is having an amazing day/night <3
this is such a nice playlist to listen to when you're reading this fic/generally when you're sad :") (its full of shinee songs!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Curled up on the sofa, wrapped in blankets and not noticing that the movie you were watching had ended, you didn't realize that your boyfriend, Yunhyeong had arrived home. He stood in front of the TV, hands filled with groceries that he was waving around to catch your attention while you were still spaced out.
"Babe! I'm home!!" he called out for the third time.
With a sigh, he dropped the groceries and then dropped himself on you, wrapping you in a hug. His coat smelled like the rain and the stubble of his chin tickled your forehead.
"Hm?" you groaned, finally realizing his presence.
"[y/n], what's wrong? Why are you so spaced out?" Yunhyeong asked you, pulling away so he could get a good look at you.
"I don't know... I just feel a little blue," you mumbled, pulling down your boyfriend's black mask, revealing his worried expression.
"Hmm... I'm sorry I haven't been home these days to take care of you, since we're preparing for a comeback, but... I'll make it up to you now, okay?!" Yunhyeong exclaimed.
"Yun... It's 12am!" you pointed out, laughing.
"So? Perfect time for a date!" he said, pulling your arm and forcing you up.
"My face is so puffy right now from being half asleep all day," you groaned.
"And I haven't shaved in a couple of days, but that's fine! Let's go!" Yunhyeong said, pressing a warm kiss to your forehead.
He held out his hand to you and tilted his head, asking you, without saying anything, if you'd join him on this adventure. And you took his hand, letting him guide you to the bedroom so you could get changed as Yunhyeong put the groceries that he bought away.
Once you were ready, he took hold of your hand and whisked you out of your apartment, wisely picking up an umbrella on the way. When you stepped outside, it began to lightly drizzle, and you were thankful for Yunhyeong and the umbrella he brought as he opened it and held it over you. He wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close so both of you would fit under it, but still tilted the umbrella more towards you so you wouldn't get wet, even if it meant his shoulders would get a little soaked.
Luckily, in the dark of the night, no one was out on the streets and Yunhyeong could get away with only wearing a hood, still not being recognized.
"So where are you taking me, Yun?" you asked, your voice just audible over the sound of the rain.
"To the sea!" he exclaimed, excitedly.
"In this weather?" you asked.
"We're already outside... so let's just go all the way!"
Luckily, the Han river was near your house - you always called it the sea - and Yunhyeong was able to take you there.
It was fairly empty of people as you sat right by the water, except for the few people who were running and rushing to get home in the rain. Yunhyeong held your cold hand in his, warming yours up while gazing at you, lovingly.
"[y/n], now that we're here... you know what you have to do," he told you.
You gave him a questioning look.
"Shout all your worries into the sea! Here, I'll go first," Yunhyeong said, facing away from you for a second and turning to the water in front of him.
"I WISH THE IKON BOYS WOULD LISTEN TO ME A BIT MORE!" he shouted, laughing afterwards. You laughed along with him, slapping his shoulder.
"Yunhyeong, be quiet! Someone might hear you..."
"There's no one here, babe," he said, pressing a kiss to your damp cheek.
"Now, your turn!"
You shyly turned to the water before you, taking a deep breath before raising a quiet shout:
"Why is it so damn hard to live!" you yelled, tears forming in the corners of your eyes.
You leaned your head on Yunhyeong's shoulder and he caressed the top of your head with his hand that wasn't holding the umbrella.
"Living is hard, [y/n], but you're doing such a great job," Yunhyeong mumbled into your hair.
Watching the dark water drift by, the soft, yellow light of the city lights and the gentle hue of the sky while being pressed against Yunhyeong made you feel alive, and you let out a sigh of relief.
"Do you feel a bit better, babe?" Yunhyeong asked, and you nodded.
"I'm glad to hear it," Yunhyeong said, reaching up to stroke your cheek with his thumb.
"Do you feel cold? Yunhyeong asked, looking into your eyes.
You nodded, slowly.
"Just a bit," you said.
Yunhyeong flashed a playful, meaningful grin before standing up and touching your shoulder.
"Tag, you're it!" he said before running away.
"In this rain you're gonna make me chase you?" you yelled after him, still standing up to run behind him.
He laughed, looking up at the sky while running and slowing himself before almost falling in a puddle, giving you time to catch up and wrap your arms around him from the back in a tight bear hug. After kissing the top of your hand lightly, Yunhyeong let you run away so he could chase after you this time. When he caught you, he held your face with both hands and peppered it with a million kisses using those soft lips of his, stirring butterflies within you.
The two of you giggled a lot under the rain, running in circles after each other by the water until you were tired, but in a good way. It was the kind of exhaustion that you feel after you know you've had a good day - the kind of exhaustion that tells you you'll be sleeping well tonight.
"Are you ready to head back to bed?" Yunhyeong asked you, taking your hand and guiding you away from the water.
You nodded.
"But let's shower first! I'm drenched," you said.
"Does a warm bubble bath sound okay?" Yunhyeong excitedly suggested, swinging your hand in his.
"It sounds lovely," you replied.

iKON When You Fall Asleep on Their Lap
This was requested by no one, I just wanted to give my boys some more love!
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: The occasional swear
Jinhwan:
Tumblr media
He’d find it cute, at first. You were super adorable when you were asleep, but after about 20 minutes or so, he got uncomfortable. He really didn’t want to wake up but his muscles were starting to tense. So he decided to wake you up and say “Hey baby, do you wanna cuddle in bed instead? So we’re both comfortable?” To which you happily agreed.
Yunhyeong:
Tumblr media
The minute you fell asleep he noticed. Your body immediately relaxed, and he was so glad you were getting some rest. He held you hand while enjoying the fact that you were comfortable enough to sleep on his lap. And he was so comfortable he fell asleep. He was still holding your hand when he woke up (and snoring).
Bobby:
Tumblr media
He honestly thought it was the cutest thing ever, and his bunny smile was plastered on his face. He really adored it, until he had to pee. Then this state of existential dread washed over him. He did not know what to do as he didn’t want to wake you. So what did he do? He panicked and booked it, leaving you to fall on the floor.and wake up
Hanbin:
Tumblr media
Can’t lie, an immense flood of pride washed over him. He was so ecstatic. He may have giggled a little bit when you fell asleep. He loved you so much and the fact that you fell asleep on him? Happy Hanbin. He also thought you were literally the cutest bean in the world, and all he wanted to do was smother your face in kisses (which he did)
Donghyuk:
Tumblr media
(can I just preface this by saying this is the love of my life right here?)
He just loved it, all of it. Your sleepy face, the cute noises of content you made, the fact you mumbled his name once. Of course he also could keep his hands out of your hair, mindlessly twirling it while he continued to play his game. He loved this time you two had together, and it became a regular occasion.
Junhoe:
Tumblr media
He got so confused, did he wake you up? Did he play with your hair? Stroke your face? He spent a solid 5 minutes just staring at you, eyes wide. He tried to do something cute and sweet but all he could do was stare, unable to move for fear of waking you up. And you woke up like that, Junhoe just staring at you. Let’s say he definitely scared you shitless.
Chanwoo:
Tumblr media
Okay so he was gaming when you just laid you head in his lap and fell asleep. He got flustered for a second but decided to keep playing his game. Until you made a cute little noise, one of contempt. After that all self control was out the window and he just started playing with your hair and staring down at you lovingly.

Chef’s Kiss
Pairing: Song Yunhyeong x reader
World: Chef’s Kitchen (read HERE)
Genre: roommates au / chef au / suggestive
Warnings: something’s burning and maybe it’s not the food (it’s both desire and the food lol)
A/N: This is a follow up to Chef’s Kitchen. I was disappointed I couldn’t call the first one Chef’s Kiss, as a punny name, because there was no kiss in it! So, I had to write this piece to get my title happiness, haha!
Thanks to @noona-clock for requesting the first story (linked above), and to @this-song-thats-only-for-you and @jackiejacks923 for convincing me I needed to write this second part!
Word count: 1325
Tumblr media
Food meant something different to you now.
Sure, you had always enjoyed anything delicious and disliked poorly made dishes, and that was still the same. However, you found yourself more disappointed with the meals you scraped together most nights than the ones where Yunhyeong cooked for you now. It made sense, he was a head chef at a popular restaurant in the city and you were without any qualifications. Of course, you could taste a whole lot more in his basic meals, as he referred to them as, compared to your more complicated recipes.
And that was why when he had his next day off that matched yours, you had begged him for cooking lessons.
“Will I ever get you out of a kitchen with me?” he asked with a heavy sigh, though the smile adorning his lips let you know he wasn’t completely put out.
He had made it clear that any time spent with you lately made him happy.
“As your roommate, shouldn’t you feel some sense of responsibility for me?” you questioned, tightening the strap of the apron Yunhyeong had insisted you wear for this. You gave him your best convincing look. “You’re full of information that could help me improve my cooking skills!”
“Are we just roommates?” he murmured and then cleared his throat and gave you a pointed look. “I’m a chef, I don’t like mistakes.”
“So I’ll try my best not to make any,” you answered, trying to simmer down the heat in your face from the first part of his response.
You weren’t sure what you and Yunhyeong had become over the last month. After the first meal you shared, you had since shared three others, all tastier than the last. You had also done other things together, often curling up on the couch and reading books or watching movies together. Grocery shopping now felt like a date for you and for once in your life, you actually were excited for Sunday mornings where you cleaned the house with Yunhyeong.
It definitely felt like you were more than roommates, however, neither of you had made that first move. And although you were desperate to make your dinners alone when Yunhyeong was at work taste better than they were now, you were hopeful that seeing him in his element might give you the surge of confidence to admit that you wanted to date officially.
Or that something would happen today.
“You might hate me after this,” he continued with the forewarning and then sighed. “Which I don’t want.”
“Well, what do you want?” you softly asked and for a moment, Yunhyeong merely stared back at you, soul-searching. Your heart rate increased, and you watched as he moistened his recently chap-sticked lips with his tongue.
“Bell peppers, two of them,” he finally stated and with a languid blink, you snapped out of the shared moment.
“Right, chef.”
Instructions followed regularly thereafter, and you focused on ensuring you did your best at each step along the way. Whilst Yunhyeong was showing you techniques on how to prepare the meal for the freshest flavour, he did make sure you were able to do everything for yourself as well.
And naturally, you were much slower and clumsier in skills. “No, Y/N if you do it like that, you’ll chop your finger instead of the carrot. Here, let me help you.”
Moving in behind you, Yunhyeong placed his hands around yours on the knife and guided the other safely along the carrot. You didn’t think cutting a carrot could feel, well, quite like this.
It was harder to keep your attention on what he was showing you and not on how good he smelt or how warm he felt against you. Blinking rapidly, you cleared your throat which made him stop moving altogether. “I uh, I think I can do it.”
“Right. Yep.”
Awkwardly, you got back to it and finished cutting up the carrot. With a new task, the tension eased off around you and soon you moved onto cooking the meal. Conversation flowed well enough during this time and you even shared a couple of moments of laughter. There was nothing that happened for you to hate Yunhyeong during this lesson. If anything, it had confirmed you liked him a great deal. You were trying to figure out the best moment to tell him this when he held out a spoon towards you.
“As the chef in charge of this meal, you need to try your sauce to make sure it tastes good enough,” he mentioned and you nodded, reaching out to hold onto the spoon over his hand. He watched you intently as you tried to savour the flavour and figure if anything was missing.
When you were done sampling it, you frowned. “It’s missing something but I can’t pinpoint it. Will you try some?”
Taking the spoon and placing some of the sauce on it, you held it out to Yunhyeong, though he didn’t make any movement to take it. Instead, he continued his gaze upon you, unrelenting with the way he soaked you in. You laughed feebly, wiggling the spoon just enough in hopes to garner his attention. “Yunhyeong?”
You vaguely heard the spoon clatter to the ground with how swift Yunhyeong took you in his arms, his mouth moving over yours before you had a chance to even blink. It didn’t take you long to react, however, eyes shutting as your hands wound up his chest to link behind his head, kissing him back with just as much fervour.
You had spent hours thinking about this first kiss and how it would go. Perhaps, you had been naïve to think something soft and sweet led in from a smile would be the most likely option. Much like his food, Yunhyeong had overwhelmed you, now pressing his body flush into yours, wedging you against the countertop. Somewhere, after sucking in a deep breath to continue the next kiss, you had found yourself hoisted up onto the countertop, Yunhyeong stepping in between your legs. And you were certain this moment would have continued, had you not smelt something burning.
Ripping away from the heated embrace, you blinked several times to gather your bearings. Yunhyeong’s eyes were blown with lust and it was evident by how dishevelled he appeared that he had no clue why you had ended the kiss short. You shook his shoulders and then pointed to the stovetop. “It’s burning!”
“What?” Turning his head, he jumped away from you, shutting off the heat and then groaned loudly. “Shit. That wasn’t meant to happen.”
“Which part, the kiss or…?”
Yunhyeong was annoyed by the cooking mishap, but his lips still managed to curl up. “The kiss was definitely meant to happen, though I should have waited until the food was done. We’ll have to start all over.”
“Or we could order in,” you offered, Yunhyeong merely frowning in response. “Less stress or time spent cooking and more time…”
“Kissing?”
“Well, they do say receiving a chef’s kiss is a good thing,” you tempted and once Yunhyeong was satisfied nothing else would interrupt you both, he stepped back in between your legs, hands loosely resting on your hips.
“Is that so?”
You hummed appreciatively and moved so your lips were nearly on his. “Next time, we’ll cook better.”
“I’ll just spoil you and meal prep your dinners before I go to work. It’s the least I can do for you.”
“Because you’re my roommate?” you asked cheekily and he let out a low curse, shaking his head.
“Unless you want me to take that literally and wind up in your bed tonight too, I think we should settle with officially dating.”
You grinned. “Can I get a chef’s kiss to seal the deal?”
With a laugh, Yunhyeong pecked your lips. “The problem isn’t going to be starting. It’s going to be knowing when to stop when it comes to you.”

You pinched the tarantula cage as you marched to the boys cabin. You made sure to get up extra early so you could give Yunhyeong a piece of your mind.
You entered the boys cabin with anger noticing all the boys still fast asleep. Once you opened Yunhyeong's room he was just putting on his shirt.
"Hey." He said with a smile until he saw what you were holding. "Oh right. I'm sorry about that."
"What the fuck." You whispered but the anger was still in your voice.
"It wasn't my idea.......It's in a cage, they wanted to let it out, but Mrs. Nu wouldn't be happy about that."
"So they stole from the science lab. Now you're training criminals." You rolled your eyes.
He took the cage off your hands looking at you with guilt. "I'll talk to them."
Your expression didn't change. "I'll make it up to you I promise." He walked past you into the boys cabin. He blew the whistle startling all the boys awake.
"LISTEN UP! I know you guys have had fun pranking the girls but unfortunately it needs to end." The boys groaned. "The pranks have gotten too out of hand and the owner is not happy. So just enjoy the rest of your summer and maybe instead of teasing the girls, start making friends with them because they're pretty cool once you get to know them."
"Also the last one ready is going to be Counselor (Y/N)'s slave for the rest of the day." Then he left with no response and you followed him awkwardly.
"Yunhyeong What the hell." You said.
"What?"
"My slave? Really?"
"It's funny. I hope it's Youngjun."
"What's with you and that kid?"
"His mom is friends with my mom. I used to babysit the twerp." He laughed. "But anyway....you want to do something later? It's movie night."
"I don't know." You we're unsure. "We will still be on duty."
"Nah. The movie grabs everyone's attention."
"We'll see."
The boys came running out and Youngjun was the first. "Youngjun can you grab my clip board I forgot it." Yunhyeong asked. He ran back inside and came running out a second later. "Oh Youngjun! You're last that means you have to be Counselor (Y/N)'s slave."
"But you asked me to go inside." He whined.
"You could of been a little faster." He smirked.
"Yunhyeong stop." You said as your girls came out.
"Don't worry, she's a softy. She'll go easy on you." He laughed but the poor boy kept whining.
"Hey." He leaned over to talk to Youngjun more quietly, so you couldn't hear what he was saying. The boy grew a smile and ran off to the rest of the boys.
"What did you tell him?" You glared.
"Nothing." He shrugged.
"Alright So you guys are with Mrs. Nu first and please give this back to her." He handed one of the boys the tarantula cage, showing no sigh of fear what's so ever.
....
As you walked the path to the main camp sight, you and Yunhyeong walked a close distance behind the kids. Your sight was all around, looking at the tall trees and the different sight of birds flying from tree to tree, just basically minding your own business until you felt Yunhyeong's hand interlock with yours. You arched your eye brows from the sudden gesture and noticed his eyes on the ground. You couldn't help but blush. He came off so cocky that you couldn't believe it was the same person. He was like a little boy with a crush, being all shy and timid, causing you to bite your lip to prevent from laughing.
"Yunhyeong?" You heard a familiar voice and he dropped your hand quickly.
"Yes ma'am." You saw his mother waiting at the end of the path. "Mrs. Nu will take over from here, I need to see you and Ms (Y/N)."
He nodded and you both followed her. She was intimidating as the boss but was sweet off the job. You figured she wanted to talk about the prank wars but hopefully she'll go soft.
"Sit down." She said once you and Yunhyeong were in her office. She tapped her finger nails across the desk.
"Can I just say it was my idea." Yunhyeong started.
"I'm not mad about the pranks." She started. "Though I better not hear from another staff finding some booby trapped toilet."
"I told the kids to stop." He spoke but the silence in the air was still intimidating.
"Ma'am are we in trouble?" You asked as the curiosity was killing you.
She stopped tapping and interlocked her hands ready to talk. "Jensen saw you two enter the storage room, soak and wet last night."
You took a deep breath trying not to panic.
"What were you two doing in there?" She said stern yet puzzled. "And at a quarter to midnight?"
"We were washing our clothes." He said but his mothers hard expression didn't soften. "We went swimming."
"At midnight?"
"I was dying to go in all day."
"Then go during your break. You have an hour." She said and then looked at you being quiet. "Why drag poor (Y/N) into your mess?"
"I didn't want to go alone." He shrugged.
She sighed leaning back into her chair. "Please no more sneaking around. After hours especially. If something happens to a child in your cabin and you're not there-"
"What's going to happen?" He said cutting her off.
"You never know." She said. "It's just safety precautions."
"I'm sorry. I just wanted to hang out with (Y/N). It's been how long since we've seen each other?"
"I told you Yunhyeong, after 6 you and (Y/N) can go do whatever. Just ask permission first." She started. "I can send you on tank duty every once in a while. Give you some fresh air."
You had no idea what tank duty was but you were intrigued.
"Alright dismissed. No more scaring my night guard." She smiled.
You and Yunhyeong left feeling nervous. "What's tank duty?" You couldn't help but ask.
"We take all the canisters and fill them with gasoline for the golf karts and such."
"I'm sorry I got us in trouble. I didn't know we would get caught." He spoke up.
"It's fine I guess." You smiled. "We just need to be more careful next time."
He smiled at your answer and continued going back to the cafeteria for breakfast.
-
"Let's see if you guys can handle the zombie outbreak course. Muhahah." Yunhyeong said taking the kids to the level 5 obstacle course. You remembered this course when you were younger but you could tell they expanded it and made it more challenging. The theme was ghost busters back then but now zombies were the big thing.
"It was my idea to make it zombies." Yunhyeong could read your unamused expression.
"Of course." You smiled sarcastically. "Where did you buy those cut outs?"
"Different Halloween stores." He said going over to the stereo that was hooked up. As soon as he turned it on a bunch of typical zombie growls started up causing the kids to laugh.
"I'll let you guys try it out once and then we'll do ninja warrior style and see who's the fastest." You hated to say it but Yunhyeong was good at his job. He knew how to entertain kids no doubt. Without him here you would of just told the kids to have fun and be done with it, but he knew what kids liked and knew how to have fun.
You waved your hand in front of your face as the sun was glaring down on the both of you. It was the beginning of July and and one of the most hottest days yet of this summer.
"Over here." He stepped back a few steps to guide you to the shade. "It's not much but at least you won't have to worry about sun burn."
"Yeah. How do you deal with standing in this heat for hours."
"I'm used to it I guess." Then he blew his whistle. "Youngjun......water!"
Youngjun ran over to the cooler and pulled out a water bottle and ran over to you. He got down on his knees and held up the water. "For you, your highness." He spoke causing everyone to laugh.
"Thank you." You took the bottle and smacked Yunhyeong.
"What, he's your slave."
"I feel weird. Make him stop."
"Alright. Youngjun!" The poor kid pulled out a water and brought another one over for Yunhyeong. "Thanks buddy." He high fived him.
"You're gonna get us in trouble again." You mumbled.
"No worries." He smiled not giving you any detail.
"Okay you guys ready for the competition. Winner gets $10 for any junk food you want." Yunhyeong made his way over to the other side of the obstacle course. He had his stop watch and clipboard in hand ready for the competition to start. "We'll have one girl winner and one boy winner. Fair?"
The kids agreed in unison. "Ready.....go!"
You just stayed in your shade watching the competition. "Hey hun, how's it goin?" Esther greeted you.
"Good." You smiled.
"Is Yunhyeong being nice to you?" She asked.
"Yes. More importantly, is he being nice to the kids?" You laughed and she cracked a smiled.
"He's only teasing. Just like his father."
"For you, your majesty." Youngjun gave you your clipboard. "You must have dropped it." Then he ran back over to the rest of the kids.
"He's joking." You laughed nervously from Esthers expression. "I'm gonna use the bathroom." You walked off awkwardly and made your way into the bathroom. You took a piece of paper towel and soaked it in cold water wiping off your excess sweat.
As you grabbed your clipboard, ready to head out again, you noticed a folded piece of paper poking out. You took it out and opened it, fold by fold.
Meet me at Ravens bridge, tonight at 7:00pm.
You blushed reading the note. That was when everyone would be occupied by the movie showing. You were still nervous though. What if someone notices you were gone?
You took a deep breath and left the girls bathroom, heading into a water gun fight.
You were only in there for five minutes.
"There she is!" You heard the kids shouting and sprinted towards you.
"No no no. Stay back!" You ran off but the kids were already squirting you. "It's cold!" You screamed.
You saw Yunhyeong laughing as he was watching the whole thing. You managed to get away and grabbed the hose. You ran up to Yunhyeong and sprayed him in the face. He tried grab the hose from you causing the water to shower over both of you. You could tell the ground was getting all mushy and muddy causing you to slip. He laughed distracting himself, giving you the opening to take back the hose spraying him more. He turned away taking off as the kids followed your lead.
"Get him." They shouted.
"It's time to take the kids to- oh my goodness." The boss shook her head. "It's my fault for hiring a kid to look after kids." She smiled to Esther.
She blew her whistle causing the commotion to stop and you ran over to the side of the building turning off the hose. "Everyone having fun?"
The kids were all quiet.
"Alright. Showers and then cafeteria for dinner.....you two clean up first." She spoke before taking the kids.
You went around grabbing all the water guns and placing them in the cart as he picked up pieces of the obstacle course. The course was all muddy now from all the water.
You wheeled the equipment back into the storage unit. It was where you and Yunhyeong shared a moment last night. The memory just gave you a shiver up your spine.
You heard Yunhyeong sigh then lean against the washing machine.
"Your mom seems pretty mad, you don't think she'll fire us do you?"
"Nah, my mom loves you." He smiled.
"I'm not convinced." You shrugged.
"Don't worry about it. You did nothing wrong." He laughed.
"So about tonight?" He started. "Can I count on you?"
"I don't know." Your tone was conflicted. "We already got busted for last night."
"It won't be after midnight though the movie starts at 6:30. No one will know we're gone."
You pursed your lips. "Okay." You looked down hiding your smile. "You're not gonna murder me are you?"
He arched his eyebrows at your question. "The middle of the woods on the death bridge." You clarified. "It's seems pretty sketchy."
"I told you that bridge is perfectly safe, plus it's our spot."
"Our spot?" You laughed.
"Yeah. Don't you remember? I'm pretty sure I proposed to you on that bridge."
"First of all, we were 9 and second, you pushed me and made me cry and gave me a flower out of guilt."
"But I got down on one knee."
"To tie your shoe."
"Yes technically but I meant it for you." He said causing you to laugh.
"You're such an idiot."
You laughed and looked down remembering you both were covered in mud. "We better go shower."
"Nah, it's a good look for you." He started walking towards the door.
You rolled your eyes and followed him outside.
....
Time was ticking, making you more nervous. It was already 6:15 and the kids were gathering their dinner, getting ready for the movie. How were you gonna sneak away?
"Oh (Y/N) can you fill all the napkin dispensers?"
"Of course." You got up and checked the time. It was 6:25. You went around to each table like you were told as you search around the room for Yunhyeong. He was nowhere in site. Where was he?
"Looking for Song?" You looked behind you startled and saw Jae smiling as he pushed his glasses up in place. "The boss put him on film duty."
"Film duty?" You asked.
"He has to watch the reel in the booth."
"Oh really?" You said trying not to sound disappointed.
"We usually all take turns. It's easy."
"Sucks too be him." You laughed nervously.
Does that mean the meet up is cancelled?
As the movie started you sat bored, chipping the polish off your fingernails. The film was one you watched a million times. Time was ticking once again as you noticed it was only five minutes to 7. What if he got out of it and was already on his way to meet you? You didn't want to stand him up but on the other hand show up being all alone in the woods. You got slowly and looked at the other counselors as you caught their attention.
"Bathroom." You smiled nervously and made your way down the hall. You were about to leave out the door until you saw the door to the projector room.
You entered slowly and saw a grouchy Yunhyeong clicking through his phone. "How dare you stand me up?" You teased.
He sat up staring at you surprised. "I'm sorry (Y/N), my mom is being unbelievable. She caught me trying to sneak out."
"That's ashamed." You said pulling up a chair. "So what were you gonna show me exactly?"
"I had a huge crush on you back when we were 10 and I carved our names in a tree." He blushed. "It's stupid but I just wanted to explain why I was an asshole to you." You couldn't help but giggle.
The movie reached its main menu causing him to get up and activate the laptop. You got up following him seeing a bunch of camp photos placed on the wall.
"I noticed that when I got in here." He laughed and you noticed a photo of the both of you during your crazy paint balloon fight.
"You look the same." You laughed.
"You look the same." He fought back that you couldn't help but blush at his cute pout.
"So about this tree, when can we see it?"
"Are you suggesting we sneak out again?" He smirked by the look of your pleading expression.
"Maybe." You shrugged. "But for now what should we do?" You leaned against the counter.
You grabbed his shirt pulling him closer since he was getting the message and brought your lips to his. He didn't hesitate to kiss you back and he had you sitting back making himself comfortable as you wrapped your legs around his waist.
"You don't think anyone will come in here do you?"
"I hope not." He said already out of breath and returned kissing deeply.
You ran your fingers through the back of his hair as the kiss turned more desperate. He held his hand along your neck for support as he towered over you.
He moved his hips along with yours causing more friction. You couldn't help but moan causing him to pull away and begin down your neck. Your stomach immediately erupted with butterflies. His hand dragged down your side until it laid nicely on your hip. He played with the hem of your shirt, tugging on the material.
The muffled laughter coming from the other room pulled you back to reality. You completely forgot where you even were.
"I think we should call it a night." You began causing him to pull away. "I don't want either of us to get into trouble."
He nodded respectfully and kissed your lips one last time slowly. "I feel like my mom already suspects something." He laughed softly. "She's pretty smart."
"I better get back out there." You began walking but before you could open the door, it opened revealing his mother.
"Oh (Y/N), How are you?"
"Good, I was just-"
"It's okay sweetie, I know you two are friends." She said politely, causing you to be more nervous then before. She definitely knew.
"Yunhyeong when the movie hits 45, we're gonna let the kids have a bathroom break."
"Okay."
"Oh (Y/N)..." You followed her out of the room. "The counselors are handing out water, do you mind helping."
"Of course not."
....
The kids were yawning left and right as you walked them back towards your cabin.
"Sorry about our plan turning to shit." Yunhyeong spoke to you causing some of the kids to turn their heads. "You're 13, I'm sure you've heard that word before.....except Youngjun who is only 10, my apologies."
You couldn't help but giggle as the teasing never got old. "That's okay. You still got another 5 weeks to show me."
"Show you what?" Your conversation became the kids conversation as well.
"The dead body I found in the woods." Yunhyeong spoke before you could.
"Don't tell them that. You'll give them nightmares." You pushed him gently.
"Okay, brush teeth and get to bed." You spoke as you got to your cabin and the kids followed through.
"Maybe not tonight but I'll find a way."
"I'm sure you will." You arched your eyebrows ready to head into your cabin.
"Goodnight (Y/N)."
"Night."

The Flight Attendant - Part 4
Genre: Flight Attendant!AU
Pairing: Yunhyeong x You (Female!Reader)
Warnings: None
Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 | Words: 1,968
Tumblr media
One Year Later
If Yunhyeong hadn't brought it up during your text conversation this morning, you would have completely forgotten it had been a whole year since you'd started your job as a flight attendant.
But Yunhyeong, being the incredibly thoughtful and considerate person he was, had brought it up. He'd actually remembered the exact date of your first meeting and had told you it was a cause for celebration.
It had been several months since you'd felt that pang of romantic disappointment in your heart... but there it was again. It was hardly noticeable at this point -- thrumming ever so slightly and trying to hide in the deepest corner of your chest, but you were familiar enough with the feeling to recognize it instantly. And Yunhyeong remembering the day the two of you had met was, apparently, enough to trigger it.
To be fair, you couldn't remember the last time one of your friends brought up the fact it was your friend-iversary. And certainly, none of your male friends ever had. One of your closest male friends, Jae, barely ever remembered your birthday. So, the fact that Yunhyeong knew the exact day you had first met was actually a pretty big deal.
If you weren't absolutely, positively sure that Yunhyeong only had friendly feelings for you... his text this morning would make you think otherwise.
But, like I said, it had been several months since you'd wished that were true. You had basically given up on ever becoming more than friends and co-workers -- and that was fine!
Fine!
Totally and utterly, positively, completely fine.
That's what you told yourself, at least, as you typed out a text to him.
I can't believe it's been a whole year 😲
After pressing 'send' on your reply, you closed the lid of your just-barely-full suitcase and zipped it up expertly.
After all, it had been a whole year since you'd been flying all over the country. You were an expert by now! And your flight was leaving in just two hours -- something that would have absolutely terrified you a year ago. But now you could pack, get to the airport, and get onto the plane in an hour and a half, tops.
You were rather impressed with yourself if you were being honest.
When the taxi arrived in front of your apartment building, you quickly slipped into your uniform heels and grabbed the handle of your bag. You waited until you'd slid into the backseat of the car before sliding your phone out of your pocket, a smile coming to your lips when you saw another message from Yunhyeong.
I may have a present for you.
OMG you do not. It's not that big a deal, I don't need a present!
...Well, too late.
YUNHYEONG
...what is it?
You'll get it soon! See ya!!!
You pressed your lips together, keeping in a soft chuckle of amusement so the taxi driver wouldn't get distracted from the road.
You also tamped down a flutter in your heart and stomach so you wouldn't get distracted from... everything. Your upcoming flight, your friendship, acting like a fairly average person and not someone who was stupidly in love with their best work friend.
But then another text message interrupted you, and your insides snuck in about three flutters as you clicked on the notification.
Actually, tell me when you get to the airport. And don't go anywhere until you hear back from me.
Immediately, your forehead wrinkled with slight confusion.
...why
Yunhyeong wasn't really one for surprises -- at least not during the year that you'd known him. He frequently did things for you and even bought small souvenirs for you when he flew to fun places, but they were never a surprise. He always texted you Hey, I made dumpling stew, come over and have some or I saw this pen with your favorite animal character on it so I got it for you.
So, for him to be this covert about something just seemed kind of odd.
I wish I could tell you, but that would absolutely ruin the surprise. And it's a good one, I promise.
I mean... you really had no choice but to trust him. He had never -- not once -- given you any reason not to.
So, trust him you did.
Okay... I will... even though this is very nerve-racking and unlike you...
He simply replied back with three innocent angel emojis, and one corner of your lips quirked up in amusement as you slid your phone back in your bag.
As with any other kind of surprise, you tried to keep your mind off of it for the remainder of the taxi ride.
The soft music on the radio, the passing scenery of the city, the other cars whizzing by you. You attempted to focus on one or more of those things... but the idea of a surprise from Yunhyeong was too novel and, frankly, tempting to not think about it.
And the fact that you were on your way to work? That piqued your curiosity even more. How could this surprise not interfere with your schedule?!
And why would he need to know when you arrived at the airport? Why would he not want you to go anywhere until you heard back from him?
Once you were only about five minutes from the airport, you finally admitted to yourself that you had no earthly clue what this surprise could be. You finally gave up.
The next five minutes were the tensest minutes you could recall in your recent history, and when, at long last, you texted Yunhyeong that you were here, you let out a huge sigh of relief.
He replied less than a minute later, while you still had his conversation open.
Come to Gate B16 and don't you dare look up to see which flight it is.
...Okay, things weren't any clearer.
Why was he telling you to come to a different gate? You'd been assigned to flight 9787 to Chicago, gate A9.
He wanted you to just... not get on that plane? Get on another plane?
You shook your head slightly and clicked on the button to call him rather than reply to him in a text.
"Just do it!" he chuckled as soon as he picked up.
"What is going on?!" you whined, your eyebrows knit together in distress.
"Y/N," Yunhyeong said confidently. "Just trust me. Gate B16. Come straight here."
He hung up before you could point out that he had said 'Come straight here' and not 'Go straight there' which implied that he was currently at gate B16.
...Interesting.
Well, there was nothing much more you could do, was there? After sliding your phone into your bag and letting out a deep, relenting sigh, you took hold of your suitcase handle and headed to the tram for concourse B.
Tumblr media
In reality, it took less than ten minutes for you to wait for the tram, board the tram, ride the tram to concourse B, exit the tram, and walk down to gate B16.
But it absolutely did not feel like less than ten minutes! It felt more like ten hours, and your stomach was in anxious knots the entire time.
You walked down the concourse as quickly as you could without actually jogging, your eyes glued to the gate signs as you passed by.
B11... B12... B13... B14...
Looking up ahead, past gate B15, you squinted slightly to try and make out what was listed underneath B16, on the flight information screen.
And when you were able to read it clearly enough... you stopped in your tracks.
Because it said --
"Y/N!" Yunhyeong cheered, suddenly appearing in front of you and taking your suitcase. He also took your elbow gently and led you closer to the gate. "Don't worry, I got your schedule changed and everything worked out. I really wanted to tell you to pack more, but that would've given it away. But there will be plenty of opportunities to shop where we're going!"
"Paris?!" you wheezed, eyes wide as you stumbled along toward the boarding area. If Yunhyeong didn't have a grip on your elbow, you weren't sure you'd be able to move.
Yunhyeong squeezed your elbow a bit, and when you blearily glanced at him, you saw his lips pursed in the most adorable of smug grins.
"I knew that's been on the top of your list for a whole year, so I wanted to make it happen for you," he said.
And, honestly, you had no idea how to respond to that. For maybe the first time in your entire life, you were actually -- quite literally -- speechless.
It wasn't until you'd walked with Yunhyeong through the waiting area, down the connecting ramp, and into the plane that words finally came to you.
"...I --"
Okay, well, one word. And it was barely even a word.
"Are you okay?" Yunhyeong chuckled, finally releasing your arm so he could stow your suitcase up in the very last overhead compartment.
A deep exhale poured through your lips before you replied, "Yes, I just -- I don't know what to -- How? And -- and -- and why? Paris? How?"
"It was fairly easy, actually," he assured you as he hefted your bag up over his head. "I spoke with Liah about it two months ago and she went along with my Top Secret Plan."
So... your supervisor had known about this for two months?! And had put the Chicago flight on your schedule fully aware that you would actually be going to Paris?!
Now you really had to hear his answer for your second question.
"But why?" you asked, the fact that you were utterly dumbfounded still very apparent in your voice.
Yunhyeong closed the overhead compartment and stood up straight, reaching out to put his hands on your shoulders.
Of course, your stomach flipped over, and when he smiled at you it flipped over two more times.
"Because you're my friend!" he told you with a soft laugh, a laugh that clearly stated this was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Yes, but -- but -- Paris! I thought you would make my favorite noodles and pack them in a lunch for me!" And, really, the only reason you thought that was because he'd done it before!
But this was on a whole other level!
Yunhyeong just laughed again, shaking his head slightly as he squeezed your shoulders. "Y/N, you are a flight attendant. You will go to Paris again, more than once."
"Well, yeah, when you put it like that it doesn't sound like a big deal," you sputtered.
"No, no, no, no," he tutted. "It is a big deal, but only because you've wanted to go and now you finally are. And I will take you everywhere, to all of the good places, I promise."
If you continued to be all flabbergasted about this, you would probably just feel silly. Plus, you were fairly certain passengers would start boarding within the next half hour, so you had to get started on your pre-flight duties.
So, you simply let out another sigh, briefly reached up to cover Yunhyeong's hands with yours, and said, "All right, let's do this. Thank you. I can't even begin to express how grateful I am, this is the best present ever."
Yunhyeong's lips spread into a full-on grin, and somehow, you had forgotten just how cute he is when he smiles.
Tumblr media
Then, he let go of your shoulders, turned around, and headed back to help unload all of the meals for the flight. When you turned around, you saw three more flight attendants enter the aircraft, so...
It was time to go to Paris, I guess!

iKON Relationship with New Girl Member
Jinhwan:
Tumblr media
Basically, her dad
Takes care of her the most dealing with her problems
He’s the oldest and he is used to dealing with the boys’ shit so he can handle hers too
But sometimes, it can be overwhelming
The girl member would listen to him like he would for her
Whenever she gets in trouble, he would always defend her (which annoys Bin a lot)
When she’s in that *cough* time *cough*, she would be the most comfortable with him
Jinhwan wouldn’t hesitate but go to the store 2 streets down and buy her chocolate, medicine, heating packs, chips, and tampons/pads
out of all the boys, she would trust him the most
if she needs something, she would go to him first
jinhwan loves to brag about that to the boys
he also loves the fact that someone is finally shorter than him
the boys still call him short but the girl defends him saying he’s taller than her
if anything, they should call her short
the first time it happened, jinhwan almost cried bc finally someone stood up for him
whenever he’s upset or hurt by what the others said, he hides it but she can usually tell
the only one he speaks his problems to
she experiments with makeup on him since he’s the only one who lets her
ngl, she’s actually pretty good
‘i didn’t spend 2 all-nighters watching jeffree star and james charles for nothing’
but as long as he sees that bright smile, he’s happy
i think he would be the im-never-letting-you-go type with her because he sees her as the girl he saw for the very first time
shy and innocent
and he will be damned if someone corrupts her
Yunhyeong:
Tumblr media
if Jinhwan is her dad, he’s her mom
makes sure she does laundry, gets up early, goes to bed on time, showers before the boys
will feed and cook for the girl even when he’s tired
thinks shes the cutest little thing
but he knows that if he finds chanwoo and her are talking amongst themselves, shes gone
gets pranked on the most
the boys would use the girl to take advantage of his kindness to her for a prank
then the girl would be guilty later on and secretly tell song what theyre planning
believe it or not, yunghyeong is pretty scary when he’s mad
so she rats the others out bc she knows he wont punish her and she could watch the boys suffer
its like killing 2 birds with one stone
but really, she appreciates him
without him, she would be stuck eating delivery and ramen every night
since she rooms with him, chanwoo, and hanbin, hes always cooking something
ikonics see her a lot in his vlives and YT channel
when he went to the jungle, she was very worried
‘hyung, you’re going to get sick there! who’s going to feed me when you’re gone? you know Bin can’t cook for shit!’
‘yah! do you only see me as your chef?!’
‘what do you mean i can’t cook?!’
he looks out for her a lot
during ikontv, she was the only one excited for the mungap trip
out of all the boys, she appreciates him the most
okay, maybe she appreciates him and jinhwan the most
but, he was the one who made her feel welcome and tried the most to help her fit in and make sure she was comfortable
will never forget when he left her a tray of food at her door when she refused to leave her new room
there was a post-it note with encouraging words and she still has it to this day
just a wholesome mother-daughter relationship that will never be broken
Bobby:
Tumblr media
oh, my baby
as i mentioned in the earlier post, he wasn’t very upset but he wasnt happy
but he wasnt upset enough to make her feel uncomfortable
bc jiwon is such a baby and so nice that he subtly helps her
over time, they build a cute relationship where he is like her older brother
steals her food all the time
‘no! song-hyung cooked that for me! Only for me!’
‘yah! it’s rude not to share with your elders!’
‘*mumbling* wdym elder. you’re practically a 5 year old’
jiwon has no mean bone in his body and you were practically an angel to him
well, when you’re not fooling around or goofing off
although he thought you wouldnt survive in iKON, he tries to help you as much as he can
even though bin is literally a big butt and gives you a hard time, jiwon helps you
like the time bin screamed at you because you couldnt get the dance right and you, being a strong woman who wouldnt let people push you around, screamed at him too
it resulted to you having a screaming match and the elders having to push you back because you were so close to punching him in the face and the youngers holding bin because he wouldnt hesitate to come at you
more on that in a sec
but you slammed the practice room shut and walked to the river to cool down
granted you were new to korea and didnt really know where you were going, you went to the place the guys took you to
bobby found you crying there and hes a very awkward little bean so it was hard for him to comfort you
since youre a girl and all
but you wrapped your arms around him and cried to his chest *cue confused and frozen bobby*
jiwon slowly wrapped his arms around you and whispered sweet nothings into your ear
since then, hes vowed to protect you bc youre basically the little sister hes wanted
B.I:
Tumblr media
okay, lets get this bread
as i said in the beginning, he didnt like you
aT aLL
he wanted to give you a hard time bc he wanted to see how long you would last
these boys have been with him since their survival days and suddenly this girl comes in? no thanks bitch
but i think bin is just really frustrated bc he couldnt figure you out
the others, he knows like the back of his hands
but you? he doesnt know shit about you
*cue his bratty self*
we all know bin is actually a soft little puppy who needs to be protected by iKONICS and will sacrifice himself for his boys
and dont worry, he will soon come to love you too
when you locked yourself up in your room, jinhwan grabbed his ear and pulled him outside to scold him
but it resulted to bin and jinhwan arguing
‘if you dont get your shit together, we’re going to have some problems. you’re the leader arent you? then act like it’
every day you try to be nice to him but he just shrugs and sometimes even outright ignore you
but as time goes on, hanbin slowly figures you out
youre still scared of him and thinks hes a douche but you can see hes trying
he really is trying
he picks up your weird habits like unintentionally pout when you dont understand something or the tip of your nose sweating when youre nervous
before, he used to not ask for your input in any tracks but it has come to the point he would knock at your door in the ungodly time of 2 in the morning, asking if the draft is good
love scenario was your guys’ combined efforts
there will be an imagine with that^
since you came in bling bling era, he didnt really give you a lot of lines because he couldnt figure out your voice and your strengths
but now, he knows you very well too
‘yah, be careful. dont be eating a lot of that ice cream. you shouldnt even have any in the first place. youre lactose intolerant, remember?’
‘yes, bin. i think id remember if there was something wrong with me.’
there are petty little fights between you guys that used to be mean and hurtful but are now playful and downright cute
but that dreaded day of your biggest fight yet
in love scenario during bobby’s rap, there’s that fast move that even the others struggled in
but hanbin already got it nailed down bc hes a GOD
but you were struggling the most and hanbin tried to be patient and help you
it was just hard for you and you couldnt get it right
by the 100th time of him repeating it over and over again, he exploded
‘yah! how are you a dancer when you couldnt even get this right!’
you looked down ashamed while mumbling ‘sorry’
he yells again and you mess up
AGAIN
he throws his hat down and gets up towards you
‘if you cant do it correctly, why bother with it? go home. you’re done’
jinhwan nervously puts a hand on his shoulder and goes in between them to try and difuse the situation
‘hanbin-ah. we’re having a hard time too. its not just her. the dance is just hard.’
‘i dont get we’ve done WAY harder choreo than this’
‘well, hanbin, remember. she wasnt here for that.’
‘maybe it was a mistake to put her here then. she isnt ready.’
you look up at him with flaring eyes
‘listen, you dont know anything that ive been through to get to where i am today so dont even say im not ready. YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ME!’
everyone stayed silent, even the maknaes bc theyve never seen her lash out like that
hanbin scoffed.
‘maybe if you actually opened up yourself to us and not hide in your damn room all day’
she stomped to him and pushed him
‘no MAYBE if you pulled your head out of your ass and take the time to get to know me then maybe you would! but NO! you decide to be a little bitch and throw tantrums just bc a girl joined your group. was your ego hurt that yg sent a girl to you? that you would need someone to make sure that this group doesnt crumble to the ground? bc with the way youre acting, the guys arent here just because youre a good leader. YOURE A TYRANT! THATS ALL YOU WOULD EVER BE!’
shit
Hanbin was FURIOUS
he pushed her back and the guys held on to them
you pushed them away and sent one last hateful glare before you made your way to the door
‘but dont worry, kim hanbin. because ill send my resignation letter to yang in the morning. im not putting up with your shit any longer’
there will be a whole ass imagine about that so it will contain when yall make up
but after that, yall are so cool
his sister loves you and he might start having a ‘thing’
more on that in a sec
Donghyuck:
Tumblr media
oof my baby sunshine
previously stated, he was the only one excited for your arrival
so obvs, yall are very tight
you, bob, and dong do vlives together a lot and ikonics look forward to it all the time
always cheers you up
remember that prank for ikon tv where dong literally started comforting the girl?
well, he does that to you
he knows when you start to get upset and he rubs your back
sometimes, just a hug from him makes it all better
did i mention that he gives out the warmest hugs?
ace dancers
both of you love to do covers as bonding time
whenever you can’t sleep, you just go to the other dorm and go under the covers while he sings to you
he sees you as his little sister and reminds him of his own little sister back home
btw, he loves to give you gifts
but so do you
when yall were filming ikon tv, he always picked up something that reminded him of you
like when he went shopping with bobby for their studio, he got you a little cute figurine that you still have to this day
or when you went to lotte mall for your day off and bought him a little necklace
fans get excited bc they always see matching yall have
the two of you wear the most fan gifts
like when someone gave hanbin a shirt, you snatch it and wear it
like how dong takes bobby’s clothing
yall are so cute together and fans wish they had a brother or a sister like yall
Junhoe:
Tumblr media
this hoe
jk, but he really looks hot in this one
yes, he hated you in the beginning but once he found out similarities between you, he started tolerating you
also to him, i think he oesnt like the fact that him and the others worked so hard to get where they are and he doesnt really know what you went through to get there
junhoe has the personality that may seem very cold at first but he easily opens up to others and that causes them to open up to him
he knows the struggles you went through to be in ikon
you’re older than him by a few months and you treat him like your child
‘junhoe-ah! dont forget to take your makeup off!’
‘yah! clean your room! its like a pigsty!’
he gets annoyed with it but he knows you just look out for him
he calls you ‘noona’ with that cute ass smile if he wants something
how can you say no to that
yalls laughs are so loud and yall are just loud in general
one time, yall had a competition on who could sing louder and the guys almost banned you from the apartment complex
the neighbors weren’t happy
he always asks you for fashion advice even though you don’t have a good fashion taste
you have the habit of spoiling him of clothes and shoes
‘noona, you don’t need to do this. take them back’
‘wtf they’re from busan. i’m not about to take a train ride there to return those. keep them.’
his mom absolutely adores you
always tells you to look after him and junhoe blushing like a maniac
‘mom, i’m bigger than her. i think she’d need more protecting than me’
he turns red whenever you pinch his cheeks together
ngl, he had a crush on you but it faded away when he saw another member having a crush on you too
hes scared of him so hed rather back off
but you love him a lot and comfort him bc hes a little baby that really needs to be looked after
Chanwoo:
Tumblr media
fuck, so cute
at first, chanwoo ignored you and made sure you were uncomfortable
even going as far as to disrespecting you
like being rude and being un-chanwoo
lets just say yunhyeong beat it out of him
as the youngest member, you baby him the most
‘oh, my little baby!’
initially, he was uncomfortable with it
but now, he lives for it
pouts when you give another member too much attention
teases you about your short height all the time
helps you grocery shop mainly for him to carry the bags
‘dont worry, noona. im strong’
you find out that chanwoo actually joined the group last and had a hard time fitting in
you used this to your advantage to get closer to him with your similar situations
‘you know, being in an unfamiliar environment is hard. but having someone who understands your feelings makes it easier’
and he just looks up to you with those big brown eyes and you just melt
gamer buddies
love to go to pc cafes even though yall have your own respective computers at home
only goes for the food
always calls him when you’re stuck in one level
*cute Hanbin’s voice*
‘CHANWOO-YAH!!!! JUNG CHANWOO!!!’
even though he might act like a bitch sometimes, hes actually so soft and cute
hes your little baby and will always be your little baby even though yall are like 80

See You Then
Pairing: Reader x Song Genre: fluff A/N: I haven’t made any fanfics for two years now so I’m a bit rusty. But anyways, I hope you enjoy this oneshot!
“Oh my god I HATE my boss! He’s gonna make me miss the last bus!” You shouted as you ran as fast as you could to the bus stop. Not really caring about people who might be thinking that you’re a lunatic at the moment.
As you reached the bus stop, you tried to catch your breath and took a glance at the digital clock at the sign next to the bus stop. You let out a sigh of relief as you had fifteen minutes to spare before the bus came and plopped down onto the empty seats.
You begin to adjust your messy appearance after running non-stop for four blocks. You popped in a pair of earphones and went on Spotify to find a chill lo-fi playlist to listen to in the way home.
When you finally found the perfect playlist to listen from, you set your phone aside and looked around. There were people crossing the street, some with their significant others, some all alone. You begin making up stories in your head about these people.
You’ve always been this creative. making up random scenarios about people’s lives. There has been various types of scenarios that you’ve made up before, cute ones, sad ones, you name it.
As you were looking around, suddenly a man presumably in his twenties took a seat on the empty benches at the bus stop. You couldn’t help but look at him. He was good looking. He wore a long black coat that compliments his skin color. He had dark hair with his bangs parted at the side. He was all-around gorgeous.
‘Wow, I wish I had a boyfriend like that’ A sudden thought came to your mind.
You ended up staring at him without you noticing your own actions. Only when he turned his head towards you, you realized your actions and turned away, blushing.
Throughout the entire time waiting for your bus, you really tried to hold yourself back from staring at him. He was unusually attractive and to be honest, you’re kind of developing a crush on him.
Then came the bus. For once in your life you really hoped to stay there longer and spend time just sitting next to him. You reluctantly got on the bus and sat at the seat next to the window facing him.
You had this brilliant idea to take out your phone and take a picture of him and once you did, you were overjoyed. ‘I’m not going to see him after this anyway’ you thought while smiling at the picture you just took.
The next day, your boss held you back at work again. You could’ve sworn that he’s doing it on purpose. That perverted old man had been using the same tactic ever since you started working there.
At first you thought it was nothing but that all changed when he once offered you a ride home. You blindly went into the car with him and chatted for a while. suddenly he began to place his hands on your thighs and touching your exposed skin. You felt uncomfortable and asked him to let you off immediately which wasn’t an easy thing to do. After a while, he finally let you off at the side of the road and drove off. Luckily you were already at your neighborhood so you went on and walked home.
After all that, you never even dared to come close to him nor his car despite his invitations. You would prefer walking to the far away bus stop every day rather than get in that situation ever again.
When you reached the bus stop, you were surprised to see the same man you saw the day before. Your heart began beating fast and you thanked god that you got to see him again today. You sat down and waited for your bus to come. Every now and then, you turn around and steal glances at him.
Your bus finally came and again you felt really reluctant to go home and leave this guy. as you boarded the bus, you took another picture of him.
After that, it has become your daily routine to take the last bus and every single day he was there. Although sometimes you finished your work early, you stayed behind just so you could take the last bus home in hopes you see him again. And every day you took another picture of him.
One day, you saw him coming to a bus stop with a woman on his back. She seemed quite drunk at the moment. She was a pretty woman. Her clothes looked girly and stylish and her makeup was beautiful. You looked at your white pencil skirt, blue long sleeve shirt and ponytail. You were nothing compared to her.
“Babe, I’m not feeling too good” The woman said as he put her down and kneel in front of her. ‘Babe? So she’s his girlfriend’ You felt your heart ache and break.
“Are you okay? Do you need water?” He said to her while cupping her face in his palms. In midst of your heartache, you just can’t ignore how beautiful his voice was. That was the first time ever you heard his voice but it just HAD to be in this setting.
The woman cupped his face in her hands and landed a peck on his lips. “All better now” She giggled. The man continued to take care of the drunk woman carefully.
Your heart broke in pieces. You hoped the bus would come as soon as possible. You just couldn’t take it. You tried to hold in the tears that were threatening to fall.
When the bus came, you quickly got on it, took a seat on the other side facing the road and cried silently all the way home.
You haven’t took the last bus ever since that day. You tried to cover up your heartbreak by finishing work early and took the evening bus to get away from him. The heartbreak, embarrassment and everything that comes with it.
One day, your annoying boss made you stay behind late again despite you finishing your work early on. As usual, he offered you a ride home. You actually thought that you would accept his offer this time just so you wouldn’t have to go to the bus stop and see the guy again.
‘On second thought, better face a heartbreak than being sexually assaulted’ You thought and made your way to the bus stop.
When you got there, you sighed. you were partly relieved that he wasn’t there but you were also disappointed you didn’t see him again.
As usual, you popped in your earphones, played a lo-fi playlist and waited for a bus. To your surprise, the man suddenly ran up to you, gasping for air. You could’ve sworn he wasn’t there today.
“Oh my god! Thank god you’re okay. I was worried sick!” He said. ‘He was worried about me?‘ You thought. That couldn’t be true. He had a girlfriend. Why would he be worried about you?
“You suddenly didn’t come here for two weeks! I thought you moved away or got hurt or something!” He continued. You realized that he was talking to and about you which made you more confused.
“I’m sorry.. I guess?” You replied, still confused.
“Sorry.. I just got worked up” He said and walked away.
“W.. What do you mean by you were worried?” You gathered the courage to ask. He turned around and you can see that he was blushing.
“I guess you could say that I liked you for a while now. You see, I work at that bar over there and we only open at night.” He pointed to a fancy bar near the bus stop.
“The other day I saw you running to the bus stop and cheering to yourself as you made it on time. It was cute. You could say I kind of fell in love at first sight. Then the next day and the days after I waited for you to pass by. I gathered all my courage and wanted to talk to you for the first time the other day.” He said. You couldn’t believe what was happening. YOUR CRUSH LIKED YOU??
“Turns out I’m much more of a coward that I thought I was i failed all of my attempts of wanting to talk to you. But the thing is, even being this near to you makes me undeniable happy. And when you suddenly didn’t come the past two weeks, I was really upset” He continued again.
“I actually had the thought that if you didn’t come today, I was going to give up on you but then I looked outside, I saw you passing by so I-- Why are you crying??” You couldn’t help but cry. This was all like a dream.
“I.. I actually like you too.. The other day when I saw you with that woman my heart just ached and I.. I avoided coming here again” You said in between your sobs.
“Woman? You mean the drunk woman the other day? She’s a customer who got stood up by her asshole boyfriend. I was just taking care of her until she got on the bus.” He explained. You felt a burden was lifted off your chest. You thanked god that this was all happening to you.
“I can’t believe it. My crush likes me.” You said, giggling.
“Same here” He shyly said. Both of you were blushing hard.
“I’ve been meaning to say this for the past few weeks : Hi, I’m Song Yunhyeong. And you are?” He said.
“Hi, I’m [Y/N]. Nice to meet you, Yunhyeong” You replied.
“Nice to meet you too, [Y/N]” You can see he was smiling so happily. you pinched yourself to see if it was all real and it was. This was really happening.
Of all times that you wished the bus never came, this was one moment that you genuinely wanted to stay longer. But alas, the bus still came.
“I guess that’s me.” You said. You can see his expression changing a little. He also didn’t want it to end. You climbed up the stairs of the bus very reluctantly when you suddenly got an idea.
“Hey Yunhyeong, if it’s not weird for you, can we take a selfie together?” You asked after you asked the driver to wait for a minute. He smiled sweetly and nodded. You took a picture with him and finally boarded the bus.
“See you tomorrow [Y/N]!” He shouted so that you can hear.
“See you then!” You replied. When he was out of sight, you looked at the picture you took and smiled. This was the best day of your life and you couldn’t wait to see him again soon.

iKON Reaction to Finding Out Their S/O has a Weird Allergy
Admin: Käri 🦈
Warnings: It’s allergies, I describe some symptoms.
A/N: This all started because I was talking with my friend about my weird allergies XD. Three of the allergies on this reaction are mine, Admin Suni shares one of those with me, and one is Admin Jade’s! Brownie points if you can guess which ones!
Jinhwan/Jay:
Tumblr media
Dial Soap.
You were over at his dorm just hanging out with him and the boys. You went to the bathroom and went to wash your hands. You didn’t pay attention to what kind of soap it was as he had it in some sort of decorative bottle. Fairly soon after drying off your hands, you noticed hives all over them. You tried to cover them up with your sleeves, hoping Jinhwan wouldn’t see them, but evetually he did and freaked out a little. You explained you were allergic to dial soap and that it was only minor, but that did little to appease him. He went out and bought you some cream over them so they wouldn’t be so itchy.
Yunhyeon/Song:
Tumblr media
Makeup Remover.
You had just run out of makeup remover and so you asked YoYo if he could pick you up some when he was at the store, except you forgot to mention that you could only use the sensitive kind because the majority of the normal ones had an ingredient you were allergic to. He brought it to you and you quickly used one of the wipes without paying attention because makeup is a pain. The next morning you woke up and in the mirror, you noticed these big red bumps all across your face and neck. You let out a loud groan that woke Yunhyeong up. He walked over the bathroom, wrapped his arms around your waist, and muttered into your neck “what’s wrong, baby.” And you explained you forgot you were allergic to some makeup removers and showed him your face. He then giggled and said, “well, I guess we’re staying home today because there is no way we’re going to make those worse.”
Bobby:
Tumblr media
Tootsie Rolls.
He came home from practice with what he thought was a super silly and adorable gift. He found one of those little tootsie roll piggy banks, and it totally reminded him of home. He gifted it to you and you stopped yourself and stared at it for little. You then slowly pushed it back to him and explained that you were allergic, and they made you really really sick. He then just chucked in the garbage can before smiling at you and saying “no harm done.”
Hanbin/B.I:
Tumblr media
Artificial Strawberry Flavoring.
You two went on a cute date to a slushee place, and you told him to just order one for you while you sat down. And he did, except he ordered you strawberry one. He brought it over to your table and you took a sip. Within seconds you felt it. You asked him if it was strawberry and he said yes. You quickly went to the bathroom and handled your handle your reaction. When you came back you explained to him you were allergic to artificial strawberry flavor. Within point two seconds he threw out the slushee making a big scene about it, and then he put another straw in his to share with you. Which is romantic, so I guess no harm done?
Junhoe/Ju-ne:
Tumblr media
Nickel.
You found this pair of really cute earrings on sale at a store, and you thought they were absolutely perfect for the event you had to attend with Junhoe that night. But of course, you failed to look and check which metal it was made of. That night, Junhoe stopped you and whispered to you asking why your earlobes were so swollen. You muttered a shit through your teeth before basically ripping the earrings out of your ear and tossing them out. You turned back to look at Junhoe, who had a very confused look on his face, and explained that you were allergic to nickel which was a very common metal in cheap earrings. He then told you that from now on he was buying you only the best earrings made.
Donghyuk/DK:
Tumblr media
Timothy Hay.
He brought up how cute it would be if he got a hamster or bunny for the dorm when you busted into objections and protests. When he asked why you explained that you were deathly allergic to Timothy Hay, which is what you feed them. It makes your throat swell closed and hives appear all over your skin. His jaw dropped and he felt like a horrible boyfriend for even proposing the idea. He apologized profusely for bringing it up and pulled you into a warm embrace.
Chanwoo/Chan:
Tumblr media
Lizards.
You and Chanu went on an impromptu date... to the pet store. You guys had to pick up some food for Obang since Hyuk was busy and didn’t have time. While you guys were there, Chanu decided to make the most of it and made it into a small adventure. You two explored all the ins and outs of the store looking at the colorful fish, petting the kitties and puppies, and mimicking the birds. You two had toured everything until you got to the reptile section. You didn’t even realize you were there until you started sneezing uncontrollably. Chanu stopped and asked what was wrong and you explained that you were allergic to lizards. He giggled a little at the revelation but then quickly escorted you away from those scaly creatures.

tears & raindrops mingle
Tumblr media
In which you bump into the CEO of a nearby bar when you are just as heart-broken as him, and it doesn’t seem to go well at first.
♦ Pairing: bar CEO!Yunhyeong x jewellery shop CEO!reader/you
♦ Genre: fluff, light angst
♦ Words: 4.1k
♦ Warning: mentions of cheating (on other characters’ parts)
♦  Dedicated to: @flora-jimin for the Spring Fic Exchange based on the spring rain prompt! I really hope you enjoy my story as I’ve really enjoyed writing it! 💖
Song Yunhyeong had the most horrifying day ever. It wasn't enough that he got to know that the girl who had been his girlfriend for 3 years and to whom he had proposed a month ago was with him only for his money. He even eavesdropped that she was planning to hijack the success of his business using his weakness (aka her) against him. She knew that he would do as much for her as he could do within his power, but he would have never thought that she would want to ruin the image of his bar by a scandal. She said that she would gladly be found humping with another man in Yunhyeong's office, caught by a gossip magazine's journalist who was hungry for any juicy details in the CEO's life.
The young man couldn't believe his ears. Where did it go wrong? Was she a traitor from the beginning? How could he not see it? It's true that Yuri and him had almost the same opinion of everything and had almost the same preferences but was it all for just to seduce him? Was it all fun for her? While he knew from the beginning that Yuri was nowhere near as rich as him, it never bothered him. He didn't have a say in which family he was born into and she didn't have a say in it either. So why? Why did she do it? Was she really that heartless? Was Yunhyeong that terrible at reading people?
He was raging, feeling like a volcano that could erupt anytime soon, as he walked down the corridor from his office to the security guards and IT guys' office, bursting in without knocking on the door first. Everyone assumed that he was in a bad mood if he wasn't being dead polite.
"Do not let Kang Yuri into the bar ever again! Not today. Not tomorrow. Never!" He yelled frantically, and his fervent reaction was enough for the guys to shut their mouths and don’t ask about the reason behind his command. He shot another glance at them before he turned on his heels and shut the door behind him, listening to the echoes while he walked down the corridor.
He pushed the emergency exit door with all his power as he stepped into the chilly midnight air. The moment he stood outside, he was showered by rain, but he didn't mind. He didn't mind that his expensive suit was about to get totally drenched, he didn't mind that he would look like a fool who got caught in the sudden downpour that was so common in spring. He didn't mind. He was used, he was betrayed, he was being played. He couldn't care anymore. He wasn't going to go home anyway; he needed some time to himself to decide on the least problematic and most peaceful way to end whatever was going on between him and Yuri. Even if she didn't deserve it.
While he was just standing there in the rain, inwardly enjoying being hit by the merciless raindrops, you bumped into him and murmured a quiet apology. No matter how gentle he usually was, he couldn't take it today.
"I don't think I've heard what you said," he blurted out coldly, the air becoming even chillier around him. The equally soaked you was about to walk away, then suddenly turned around to face him. You were examining him, eyebrows furrowed in question, looking all businessy in your black women's suits, stylish high heels and designer bag. You wore an expensive necklace that stuck to you like second skin due to the raindrops claiming their place on your exposed neck.
Yunhyeong had no idea if you were always this stern, fierce flames dancing in your eyes, or it was the situation that made you uncharacteristically frustrated.
"I've said I'm sorry," you repeated again, lips in a firm line. "There must be something wrong with your hearing." You fixed the bag on your shoulder as you shot him a glare and was about to turn around again if Yunhyeong's words wouldn't have stopped you.
"Are you really trying to play this game?"
"I wasn't the one who started this," you stated matter-of-factly, the dancing flames in your eyes starting a more fervent routine than before. You seemed unfazed by the rain that was pouring onto you, not caring about the condition of you expensive dress. Funny how you seemed all tight and rich (and annoying), yet you let your designer bag get soaked in the rain. Not to mention your perfectly braided hair.
"You bumped into me," he pointed out as he took a step closer to you. He didn't seem to intimidate you though. Maybe it's because you were as tall as him with your high heels, or maybe you had just enough pride in you not to be swayed by a man like him.
"That was accidental. Haven't you heard about accidents?" You got back at him immediately and took a step closer to him, so that you would be even closer to him, your faces only an inch away. Yunhyeong could hear the erratic beating of your heart and wondered if he had played a role in its state.
"Oh yes, I did. I certainly did." He nodded nonchalantly, bitterness scratching his throat. "I've accidentally eavesdropped a conversation today that made me realize that my fiancée's with me only for my money. You can tell that I don't like accidents," he confessed straightforwardly, not caring if you knew who he was or if you would pass on the news. He didn't care. After all, his fiancée has wanted to do something similar to him.
"Today, I've accidentally walked in on my best friend having sex with my boyfriend of four years whom I've thought would marry me soon. And if that's not enough, they did it in our apartman, on my birthday, before I was supposed to go out for dinner with him. So you can tell that I don't like accidents either," you told him without a blink of an eye, without being ashamed of the past events. It's not like Yunhyeong thought that you should be ashamed. After all, it wasn't you who had cheated on your boyfriend.
On the other hand, the fact that you got to know about it today and you seemed so composed surprised him. A lot. On top of that, he was convinced that boyfriend of yours must have been either completely dumb or just another chaebol who didn't care how much money he lost by such a scandal. If it was ever going to surface.
"You look like you need a drink," Yunhyeong said quite emotionlessly, even though his grudge against you wasn't so powerful anymore. He began to understand you a bit more.
"Oh yes, I do." You nodded, half-laughing and half-snorting.
"I'll buy you a drink."
It was a mere offer on his part. If anything, it was a kind one. He knew you both had your own hardships to deal with, so he assumed that a drink or two may come in handy for you. On the other hand, you didn't take his side.
"I don't need your pity."
"If not for your douchebag boyfriend, then for your birthday. I'm the CEO of Full Moon, and I would need a drinking buddy anyway. You can join or you can go home drinking alone." He shrugged, his vision getting blurry because of the raindrops that got into his eyes. The rain didn't bother him though, it felt like as if it was going to wash away all the events from the day, all the bad that had happened. Even though he knew a mere spring downpour couldn't solve his problems, at least it wasn't sunny to make him feel even worse.
You weren’t bothered either. You were standing fierce and tall, clothes getting soaked and hair looking like a lost girl’s.
"I'm not going home," you blurted out after a few seconds of complete silence, except the sound of rain.
"Exactly." Yunhyeong bobbed his head agreeingly, and waited a bit before he headed back to his own bar. He wasn't surprised when you followed him, it wasn't that hard to imagine after seeing the flames in your eyes that became more powerful when you declared that you wouldn't want to go home. Considering that you had mentioned having a shared apartment with your boyfriend, he could understand why you didn't want to go home.
So you did. You followed him into his bar, taking a seat on the black leather seat beside him, elbows resting on the cold surface of the wooden counter. You enjoyed the slight jazz music that was playing from the speakers, the dim light that illuminated only what was needed to be illuminated and the rest was left in mysterious darkness, the chic yet somewhat fitting design of the whole place, black and burgundy being the dominant colours. There were only a few people at this hour, but considering that Yunhyeong had introduced himself as the CEO of the bar, you weren’t afraid that you would find yourself outside the place because of closing hours.
He ordered himself a drink and so did you. You seriously needed something strong, hoping that the euphoria that the alcohol would bring would be enough to erase the picture of your best friend getting down on your boyfriend, or at least to help to ease the pain. Anything but to face the consequences.
"So did it happen to you today, too? Getting to know about your fiancée's true intentions?" You couldn’t help but ask since the young man himself seemed so easily annoyed by a simple act of carelessness on your part. He must have gotten to know about it lately or he must not have been over it yet.
"Yes." He nodded, an aghast sigh escaping his lips. "I wish it didn’t happen today though. I should have known about it before. I wouldn’t have proposed to her then," he explained, eyes staring far ahead, breathing more erratic than it should have been. You looked at this heartbroken young man and wondered if he was really that blind to not see the signs or his fiancée was that good of an actress. After all, you couldn’t see things coming your way either. Maybe you were both too lost in your own feelings that you didn’t catch up to what was going on around you. Maybe you both just wanted to be loved and feel loved.
"It’s still better that you got to know about it now than if it happened later," you pointed out with a tilt of your head, thinking of the consequences of a later revelation. They hadn’t gotten married yet, so at least he didn’t need to worry about that part if he decided to leave his fiancée for good.
"Maybe." He nodded hearing your words, and you could definitely feel the sorrow in his words. It soaked through his voice, his shirt, his actions. He was a heartbroken man, his confessions dripping rawness and desperation. No matter how much he tried to hide it, you could see the real man behind the mask, you noticed his intense gazes and momental daydreams.
You soon fell into a comfortable silence that only the light music from the speakers interrupted. Your drink was ready in no time, and the barista put down both your order and the man’s order at the same time. You exchanged a glance with the CEO as you reached for the glass.
"Cheers!" He said, holding up his shot of vodka.
"Cheers!" You emulated his actions and consumed the soju in one-go. You immediately felt the warmth spreading through your body, the alcohol making its way through your system. It wasn’t a very familiar feeling as you didn’t drink a lot. In fact, you only drank if it was socially required at parties or other events that were more about your money than you personally. Sometimes you really hated your life. Sometimes you were thankful that you could start your own business because you were born into a rich family. Sometimes you imagined being just an ordinary woman, sometimes you enjoyed the glamour. It was nothing new though; the chaebol life had always been ambivalent.
"Oh, and happy birthday!" The CEO added after he gulped down his own drink and visibly flinched when the taste hit in. You bobbed your head as a sign of gratitude.
"Maybe it’s not my day but it can be my year," you added with a bittersweet smile as you looked at him, his lips also curling upwards. It wasn’t a friendly smile though, it was more like an empathetic, an understanding one. It was genuine and raw, it was all you could have asked for in such a situation.
"You’re right. You deserve better."
You had no idea what to say. You didn’t even know each other, you had met half an hour ago, and he was already talking about you as if he had known you all your life. It was weird, this kind of act right at the beginning of your conversation when you were so used to people sugarcoating their words or outright lying to you, keeping their distance from you when they got to know who you were. He either didn’t care or didn’t know how it was supposed to be.
"You don’t even know me," you remarked rather confusedly, hoping that he wouldn’t take your words the wrong way. He didn’t though.
"No one should be cheated on," he mused out loud, keeping the eye-contact for another minute or so before he turned back to order another round. Then, he casually loosened his necktie and stared far ahead.
You assumed that you two had more in common that you would have previously thought, and this night was enough to prove you right. More than enough.
The next morning you woke up at the exact same spot you talked to Yunhyeong the day before. You probably dozed off after your fourth bottle of soju because you had no recollection after that, hence the location seemed fitting. You didn't mean to stay the night, you didn't even mean to drink so much, but through the shared sorrow and compassion somehow you found talking to the CEO quite enjoyable. He was a breath of fresh air after meeting so many lifeless, two-faced rich people you had the chance to encounter. He was intelligent, not the obvious one, not even the fake one, yet the way he connected the dots and looked at the world was saying it all. He was kind and considerate too, not the pushy type though, he had just the right amount of curiosity. He was also a lot kinder throughout the night than compared to the way you met. Maybe it was because you went through kind of the same, or maybe he was usually this kind. You didn't know, you knew only a tad bit about him.
When you opened your eyes, you needed a minute to realize where you were and why you were there.
You stood up, but you immediately knew that it was a horrible idea when you needed to hold onto the bar counter, so that you wouldn't fall down.
"Easy there," a familiar male voice suggested gently, yet you could detect a bit of amusement behind his words. You could already feel him smiling even without properly looking at him.
"I'm perfectly fine," you tried to reason as you turned around to face a perfectly sober Yunhyeong with a neatly ironed shirt and clean cotton pants. So you were the only one who got knocked out last night. Good to know.
"Your reflexes wouldn't say the same." He giggled to himself before his features became solemn again. You eyed each other for a few seconds before he made his way around you and got behind the counter, filling a glass with water. "Here. You must be dehydrated," he added while a faint smile was dancing along the edges of his mellow lips. You knew that he was right as your throat was as dry as a desert, yet you needed a moment before you reached for the glass to gulp down its content in one go.
You put it down with a satisfied sigh, and looked back at Yunhyeong.
"Thank you." You bobbed your head as a sign of gratitude, hoping that he wouldn’t expect too much of you in such a state. You wouldn’t say that you had a headache or that you were that hungover. However, you definitely felt the heaviness in your body and you were definitely thirsty like never before. You should have eaten the night before, too, you reckoned as your stomach growled loudly.
"Seems like someone’s hungry," the CEO commented with a lopsided smile that you wished you could swipe off his face. You weren’t used to such cheekiness, especially not from someone who was your age (as you had discussed that you were the same liners). Yet, there was something childishly innocent about his playful behaviour you couldn’t quite pinpoint. He had this duality, and you weren’t sure when to take him seriously and when not to.
"It’s okay." You shook your head. "I’ll grab something on the way to work," you declared as you looked at your watch and realized that it was time you headed out for work. Even though you were the owner of your very own jewellery shop, even though you could have come by any minute and you could have skipped any day without notifying anyone, you weren’t one to abandon what you’ve been working for years, and you were definitely not one to call in sick just because you had a drunk night.
"Are you sure you don’t want to eat here?" Yunhyeong inquired with a quirk of an eyebrow, but you nodded anyway.
"Yes, I’m sure. You’ve already done enough."
"It was nothing, really." The CEO shrugged like it was really nothing when it was more than you could have asked for. Even though it wasn’t intentional, at least you had somewhere to sleep, at least you didn’t need to face neither your boyfriend, nor your best friend, and at least Yunhyeong kept you company. Come to think of it, it wasn’t that bad of a night despite the horrible events that led you to the bar.
"Thank you, Yunhyeong," you repeated with a grateful smile for which the young man just shook his head.
"No problem. You can come by anytime," he offered with a soft smile, and you felt odd under his stare. Maybe it was because you were still very much affected by what happened the day before, or maybe it was because you had lost all faith in males, and there was this gentle young man showing you that not all guys were as much of an asshole as your boyfriend was. Or ex-boyfriend. Whatever. There was still something left to discuss with him.
"I will," you promised equally casually, and headed out of the bar with a lighter heart and a newfound acquaintance in the same district you had your own shop.
As both your shop and Yunhyeong's bar was on the same shopping street (which was said to be the most chic in Seoul), you didn't hesitate a lot when you finished with work in time, and didn't feel like going straight home. Yunhyeong even paid for your drinks every time you were there even if you insisted that you earned enough, so you could pay for your own order. When it came to business, he was as serious as no one you had met before, yet when he was off-work, he wasn't so stern. He joked around a lot and whined like a child even though he was already in his mid-twenties. He seemed like such a brat sometimes. He was also very enthusiastic and curious, so when you showed him around your shop for the first time, he looked around like Alice in Wonderland. It was odd seeing him among all those fancy rings and necklaces you were selling, and it was even more weird because he was a male. You didn't like stereotypes but males were rare to find in your shop.
Truth to be told, you weren't used to having a companion almost every day. You tried to be on good terms with your employees, but none of them were close to you. Not to mention your family. You didn't hate them, but you didn't even fancy spending time with them when it wasn't necessary. You were thankful for what you had, yet you had such different mentalities that it was difficult not to pick a fight with them whenever you spent time together.
With Yunhyeong, you weren't lonely even if you had just broken up with your boyfriend and had also lost contact with your best friend after what had happened. You knew that it was over, but you decided to give a chance for both of them to explain themselves, and it didn’t go well, to say the least. You ended up drinking at Full Moon yet again, complaining to Yunhyeong about what those two had dared to bring up as their excuses.
You didn’t keep count of the weeks and months that passed by because you were always looking forward to each and every day to meet Yunhyeong, to get to know him a bit more. Despite your initial dislike towards him, he turned out to a very gentle, attentive and incredibly funny young man, and soon your days became filled with his contagious laughter and self-made meals because the CEO loved nothing more than cooking.
This is how you actually ended up in his house one day after he had insisted that he would want to teach you how to cook one of his favourite meals. It was about half a year after your first encounter and also your first time to visit his house.
It was all going well as Yunhyeong was a very patient chef, and he didn’t make you feel completely useless even though he did most of the actual work. You weren’t a kitchen fairy, but you’ve tried your best, and worked as diligently as you would do at your own shop. It wasn’t until a careless turn on your part and his closeness that the atmosphere became somewhat awkward. You had just turned around to look at him and ask what else you could do, but he was already behind you, so you practically bumped into him and almost lost balance but he caught you in time. He grabbed you by the waist, and even when he could see for himself that you were stable, he didn’t let you go. You didn’t care though. You were more focused on his face. To be precise, on his eyes.
You didn’t even dare to look away, you didn’t feel like you knew how to do so. You were mesmerized, stuck in the moment, in the fantasy world that the situation created. You had never been this close to Yunhyeong ever before, and the close proximity did odd things to the state of your heart. You found it difficult to breathe properly, and your lips were parted because you were about to say something, yet nothing seemed right.
Then it happened. All of a sudden, only for a moment, your lips touched his, and you were even more mesmerized than before. However, your rational part made you back away and apologize immediately.
"I’m sorry. I really didn’t…" You started immediately but he cut you off.
"It’s okay, it’s really okay." He shook his head, then a lopsided grin started stretching on his lips. "I was just about to ask if it’s okay if I kiss you," he added with a nervous giggle and sheepishly scratched his temple.
You were so shocked than you didn’t even know what to say for the next few seconds. Your heart was racing so wildly that you were afraid that you would have a heart attack soon. Luckily, Yunhyeong saved you.
"Then, it’s my turn next," he declared as he hovered over you and waited for you to push him away, to reject him. Needless to say, you did neither, and so he kissed you while you could feel him smiling to himself. You did the same as him, your insides melting.
What an interesting turn of events when it all started with an innocent little cooking session.
