Underfell Take
Hello, Hello!
For my first actual post, I'll be talking about my old Underfell take, named Perifell (original, I know)

(Most of those sprites are from August 2021) (Papyrus and Sans sprites and designs made by Unshulf)
The main premise of this AU was just to make Underfell, but in a different way of edgy, moreso desolated (but still fun)
It's vibe was more "mossy", "muddy" if you will. Something like overgrownplants but in a bad way (im bad at explaining)
I had everyone wearing green, similar to how everyone has red in their color palette in the original Underfell. I wanted to go with red first, but I thought another color would make it feel unique
I'm goig to talk about the reasons behind some of those designs aswell as the character changes, starting with

Frisk, "Lucky" and Napstablook
Frisk, in term of character, remained the same. They just got a new haircut! Aswell as some enw clothes too. Not too much to say about them, I just wnated their design to look more "rough".
That last drawing of Frisk is from August 2022. It seemed to be a sort of redesign for a potential revival of the AU.
"Lucky, The Clover" who is, well, a clover. Technically, his design doesn't make sense for a clover, but I had no idea back then lol. He's still kind, but manipulative and have an uneven amount of luck. He somehow always manages to get what he wants.
Napstablook wasn't really different from the original Underfell counterpart either, they're just mud this time. They're supposed to be invisible, but they always sleep in mud, hence why they're always covered in it.

Toriel
She was a strict person, who was feared by the monsters of the ruins (or whatever replaced the ruins). I don't like her design looking back on it, I thikn it could use more improvements or just be changed completly. She's more silent than Undertale Toriel, and usually just has a death stare.
That last drawing of her is from August 2022. I think this was supposed to be for a sort of revival for the AU, so it's a redesign of her.

All I remember is that Papyrus was the chief of the Canine Unit, or as it was called, the "Dog Army", a more military setting for them
I didn't design the "Dog Army" at the time, but I can image what they would've looked like

Undyne (logo of Perifell in the Undyne art by SoupTaels)
Undyne was still the fearsome hero everyone knows, except here she wa sa pirate! She had a ship and a whoel crew with her aswell. I remember something abotu Waterfall being flooded or something? So it was impossible to go through without a boat. The river person probably helped you there. There was somethign about Snowdin people not being allowed to come in there?
Also, Papyrus and Undyne had a rivalery there, they were friends but had a falling out after leadership differences

Alphys
Alphys was your typical crazy scientist. She partially play that part of her as a way to "be memorable to others", or just seem cool to people. Problem is, she doesn't realise when she goes too far with her ways of doing, and doesn't hesitate to harm her friends. She was mainly more into mechanics if I remember correctly, but she also had some potion making knowledge.

Mettaton
Mettaton, the war machine! He was made as a big weapon against humanity. Problem is, he actually really admires them.
I don't think I had any idea for an EX or even NEO form, or if he'd have any at all.
I think it's one of my favourite design of this AU because of the way it looks.

Asgore
Honestly, not much to say about him LOL
He's similar to his Undertale and Underfell counterpart, seeking revenge on humanity for the loss of his children. He had a missing horn, which he covered. How he lost this horn is unknown.

Asriel and Chara
Asriel and Chara were pretty similar to their Undertale counterparts. They had different designs, as they are a bit older than they were in Undertale. Asriel was just a golden child and future prince, whereas Chara was the more laidback kid, the troublemaker.

TREEMAN (Gaster)
This Gaster take is quite different, as this time, he's a tree. I thought of making him one as a reference to "the man behind the tree" in Deltarune, which would make him a Tree Man.
His "goner" version was green and mossy, as most other Gaster followers were. They all had this swamp kind of aethetic to them, with moss all around.
His design is honestly my favourite and still is today, I hope to revisit it sometime.
And that's all! This post was kind of long to make lol. I chose to post about this as it is a very old project that I may revisit someday, but I wanted to get the old stuff out first. My next post will probably be about something more recent... or maybe not! I don't know

new poltergeist (and vert) mermaid au lore just dropped (i lied it’s not new lore more like a potential cute spinoff AKMDHKJAO)
Majority if not everything stays the same except now Etoiles is a hunter of mermaid hunters. He is top dog he is going after every and all the hunters who are trying to capture mermaids. In particular he’s after this one group who’s signature for their green banner and they play dirty by dropping hostile animals in the water instead of hunting fish/mermaids themself (very bad that’s an invasive species right there. they’re gonna fuck up the ecosystem). No matter how many times Etoiles blows their ship up they just keep doing back??? and it’s annoying as hell??? He’s also after the “Federation”, a group of hunters on white boats with a HUGE force but that’s secondary
The rest of the French are also human and all might work at an aquarium/sea life conservation place? Aypierre def works making new tech and is developing diving technology for marine biologists that is eco friendly!! baghera probs looks after any hurt/sick sea life they find (like rehabilitation? intending to release them back in the wild once they’re all better). Kameto probs fund the place they all work at (ceo moment) and Antoine probs explores the ocean as well looking for new undiscovered sea life/just researching… i’m really unsure tbh but they’re all human but have an adorable little mermaid they’re looking after.
Her name is Pomme, affectionately named that after her red colored tail. Pomme loves to hang out with her family but most times likes to follow Etoiles since he goes on long distant adventures and she likes to keep him company (plush modern technology exists if the man remembers he takes pictures of pomme to send to the rest of the French) Pomme 100% wants to help Etoiles fight the hunters but she’s just a baby and he’s very worried for her safety akmfkhskns
Anyways, Etoiles protects mermaids and is toootally not in love with this one cute clownfish mermaid….. (i’m being sarcastic. he’s got a baby crush on pac) (meanwhile pac is literally heal over heels for etoiles and is not hiding it from anybody)
During their first interaction Etoiles notices that Pac has a tail prosthetic (bitten off by a certain octopus mermaid…) and says somethign like “ooo you must have fought very hard :)) you survived that!!” and pac nearly cries /pos he is so enamored with etoiles right then and there. not to mention etoils points out the patches of scales Pac has on his tail that remind him of pac-man and pac is just so smitten

OMORI HLVRAI AU!!!!! In which after HLVRAI, Gordon inserts his & the science teams (+others) data into Omori, unaware of The Horrors.
full explanation under cut since its going to be a long ass post :3
ok so. basically. literally. yeah.
The hlvrai character data replaces the existing omori characters, basically just inserting them into the roles the game needs. (Ex: Gordon = Sunny, Sunny has been replaced by Gordon and Gordon now fills that role as the protagonist)
THE CHARACETRS!!! yes
Gordon = Sunny: Gordon's the protagonist, obviously, so it makes sense. Plus the whole sunny/omori conflict reflects how omori!Gordon is just a copy of the Real Gordon. Omori-Gordon is the representation of who Gordon is supposed to be, but can't.
Tommy = Kel: Self explanatory I think. It just fits. I don't have alot to say on this one BUT!!!!
Darnold = Hero: LISTEN!!!!!!!! Soda guys are just paired 2gether methink. ALSO ALSO!! Because the science team replaced the original omori character data, the fact that Kel and Hero are brothers is instead replaced with "Tommy and Darnold are best friends (and they were roommates)" They technically still have a connection but the are NOT now brothers in the game.
Bubby = Aubrey: Ik Aubrey is just really mean following the greif of Mari and being mad at Basil, and Bubby isn't just mean for no reason, but I think the way he's sorta detached from the rest of the group for a bit and off doing his own thing in this new world they were thrown into sorta fits. idk he just deserves to fuck around with the hooligan guys. also get a baseball bat.
Coomer = Basil: LISTEN. Coomer being Super Aware right along with Gordon really fits, bc Coomer was the one who suggested putting the data in a new game in the first place!!!! Also also Coomer is Very Aware at SEVERAL points in the series and it fucks me up every single time. Coomer and Gordon DESERVE to be unreality trauma buddies. Gordon and Coomer BOTH being desperate to keep the game happy and wholesome like they thought it was supposed to be, both in their own ways, leading to Coomer vs Gordon unintentionally hurting themselves or other people, including each other. They mean alot 2 me.
Benrey = Mari.: Benrey still appearing to Gordon as nightmare bathroom monster ghost shit just makes SENSE TO ME. BENREY JUMPSCARE. Gordon feeling GUILTY about leaving Benrey to die so Benrey manifests in Gordon's headspace and haunts him in faraway. (Once again, sibling dynamic is NONEXISTANT!!! Headspace frenrey is real.)
Also Forzen is just one of the hooligan kids. Probably the maverick.
Also Stranger is gman. Cus uh. He didn't sync with the game properly and is stuck in Gordon's headspace and fucking with him & telling him how Very Bad this game is for the science team & gordon. or somethign. this whole au isnt entirely thought out leave me alone or ill shoot you with my lazer eyes (/j)
AS 4 HOW HEADSPACE WORKD!!!!!! pretty much the same lolz. It's all Gordon's interpretation of how the game is supposed to be and how the characters are supposed to act now, and Real Gordon is how he's supposed to be. Benrey manifests in headspace, Gordon repressing his trauma from Black Mesa by trying to repress Coomer fucking with his head and telling him nothing's real (and Gman too), and he just tries his best to make everything work.
Gordon can almost completely control headspace, which comes with being the protag in this game, and he likes that because outside of headspace, he can't control anything. Once the science team and him were put into the game he couldn't change anything else because he's not the Real Gordon. Everything just works out well in headspace, so he aims to kind of keep the game like that. Coomer obviously is against this bc headspace Coomer isn't him, and the headspace versions of the whole science team are just other copies, and he wants to let himself and the rest of them experience the real game outside of Gordon's control.
SO YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im cring. can u tell this AU is only halfway thought out or am i insane.

“You’re hiding again, little girl.” His voice is a rumble from a few feet away, deep and growling with amused disapproval. Pero doesn’t like when you hide from him, but it’s always so easy to find you. There is never a day when your head cannot be found amongst the books.
“Hm? Oh.” You’re pulled out of the fantasy world you’ve been engulfed in for the last hour, Pero’s gruff, but somehow smooth voice bringing you back to reality.  “I’m sorry, this story is just so good.” You stand from your place on the floor, holding the book in one hand and dusting off your vintage skirt with the other.  You still weren’t sure what to make of this man, but as time went on he was easier to be around.  The gruff, hard-shelled man bringing down the walls you spent so much time putting up.  
“Off in your fantasy world.” He chuckles, the sound dark and teasing. “You missed supper. Will your fantasy world sustain you until tomorrow morning?”
You give him a faint smile and nod your head once.  “I’ll be alright.  I may wander down to the kitchen at some point to see if I can find a bite, but for now I’m fine.” Clutching the book to your chest, you follow him out of the endless row of old books.  “Can I read to you?” You ask shyly, knowing that sometimes he’d ask about what world you had disappeared to at that moment, but never knowing if he was making polite conversation or was asking out of curiosity. 
Pero’s split eyebrow raises at you, wondering if your kindness still comes from fear or if you are starting to be used to him now after nearly a month in his home. It’s not as though he blames you for being afraid - no, he understands it perfectly. But he got used to having you there, found he liked having you there, much more quickly than he anticipated. And now he finds these stolen moments of pleasantness to be more and more alluring. The facade of a normal life, one with you there beside him willingly, is almost seductive. “What is it?” He asks, glancing down at the book in your hands. 
“It’s um, it’s a love story…” Heat floods your cheeks.  “It’s lovely and I don’t know…maybe you’ll enjoy it?” You ask sheepishly.  It would be foolish to deny the attraction you feel towards this man, deep set scars, the frequent scoffing and all.  Sometimes you would find yourself imagining the characters in the books you read as the two of you, and you found you weren’t starting to mind so much.  You knew deep in your bones that this off-putting man had a soft spot for you, and times like these - where he looked at you like you were the most elegant thing in the world - made you want to push boundaries.
He hums, though the sound from him sounds more like a grunt than anything vaguely musical, and eventually nods. “For a little while,” he agrees, turning to settle himself in the large wingback chair by the fire. “I may fall asleep.” What a bold-faced lie. He knows he’ll hang on your every word, absorbing the story that is currently fascinating you just like he does every time you read to him. But if you knew that you might spurn him for an entirely new reason - not for the cruelty he used to show, but for the affection that has grown in his heart. And he would rather have you fear him than laugh at him.
“I’ll make sure to drape the blanket over you if you do.” You give him a soft smile, perching yourself on the plush rug and open the book to the passage you left off at.  “When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are to become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No … don’t blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away. Doesn’t sound very exciting, does it? But it is!”.” You read the words and Pero is enchanted, completely drawn to the words coming off the page.  “Hm…” You pause.  “Have you ever felt that way?”
Pero grunts softly, shaking himself out of the short trance he had fallen into while he listened to you. “No,” he mumbles, shaking his head. No, he hasn’t ever felt that - that calm sort of love. The burnt away, comfortable, warm sort of love. He’s never felt that before because he is still in the all-consuming stage of being in love, still breathless at the sight of you every morning and lying awake thinking of you every night.
But you can never know. You would laugh. So he shakes his head and says it again: “No.” Like it will somehow magically cure him of being in love with you.
“Oh,” Your heart drops a little at his admission.   You had thought that maybe he felt something for you.  Straightening your shoulders you decide not to let him see how his words made you feel. “Well, maybe one day."

Oh ok what do you think of a season 7 AU where one of the girls decides that the only way to defeat Zankou is to to romance him like this is an otome game (or taking a page out of their ancestor’s love with the love spell) which sister do you think would do it? 😂

which like the text seems to imply they’d be going phoebe for phoebe but like. i am an out and proud piper/zankou shipper idk why but man they just have It like you either get it or you don’t like.... so yeah i’d be going for piper idk we’ll go for a pleo divorce era au or idk leo didn’t come back when the avatars nixed him (and zankou Was the one to help them defeat the avatars so hmm.... like....... idk... maybe a soft moment of mild comfort for piper with her grief but ths undercurrent like don’t trust me bc i will go back to my side and you will go back to yours but i will mourn with you in this moment ooohuuhuu....) au where they all get launched into an otome game tho lmao.... i feel like they should each get launched into their own viddy game like phoebe gets some kind of lara croft shit but the lesson to be learned there is love is not what she needs she needs self confidence paige i want an alien au bc she’d serve. her lesson is regards to family and how she does actually want to start her own one day (somethign we would have already established as a fear of hers.) (also henry is lready there bc i said so.) but piper gets thrown into like a dating sim like sry ur husband died baby but love is still out there featuring dateables like mark, dan, fireman greg, um... season one josh, manticore baby daddy derek. and then zankou. and piper’s like whoa what is he doing here!!! and zankou is like i don’t know i think we’ve been knocked into a parallel universe or something who are all the dudes and piper’s like oh thank god. oh thank god. i thought you were part of the dating sim. anyways, piper’s trying to figure out how to win and zankou’s just there observing offering sarcastic commentary here and there there’s a moment where he’s like oh no i know this one he’s in your diary and piper’s like you read my diary??? and zankou’s just like yeah lol. anyways. reveal zankou is half witch that’s why he gets human emotions so well and also why the source imprisoned him. one of His past lovers from like 1000ad shows up and we kinda get the skinny on him and learn that he’s a hopeless romantic too oohohooohooo..... anyways. they exit the game when they kiss. <3

She's no stranger to alchemists' bad parenting skills. The tattoo and burn on her back can attest to that. But this... using an innocent child as an ingredient for human transmutation...
Her Ishval nightmares will have a new companion, now.
And seeing Edward's betrayed face, hearing his screaming, it breaks her heart. These boys have been through enough as it is, and they still somehow have the capacity for more grief. She doesn't know where the put all of it, the loss and the anger and the memories. She's known enough soldiers who took their own lives rather than live with the things they'd done and had done to them, and she's had dark moments herself.
If Edward or Alphonse ever tried to hurt themselves, she would never be the same. If anyone ever used them as ingredients for some twisted experiment, she would kill the bastard who did it.
"Roy," she cries that night, when they're in their house, away from prying eyes, with the boys in their room. He has his arms around her as she cries into his shoulder, though he remains as stony faced as usual. "Roy."
"I know," he says, rubbing circles into her back. "That won't happen to them, Riza. I promise."
She's not their real mother, and he's not their real father. But they're as close to a family as any of them is going to get, and Riza will be damned if she just sits back and lets anyone hurt what they have.

Sorry for the wait but honestly I had to watch Season 6 a lot and some seasons beyond a little in order to get some ideas churning.
Now thanks to you I really like the lil bug.
First of all, I mostly am going to steal pretty much every detail of Feige’s Harvey HC post. It is all fire and you should all go read it and reblog it.
But the most useful bit, to me, is their notion that Harvey was not actually made circa 1900 but rather a one-off reproduction commissioned circa 1940. I dunno, it just feels right. I look at that face and I see a guy from the 40s.
I also love Feige's account of Harvey's pre-Sodor history. I modify it, however, to Harvey not going directly from Barrow Hemelite Steel Co. to Sodor in 1974. I see him arriving about a decade later, right around the time the TV series is launching. On the other hand I think it’s unlikely that he got another job anywhere else after ’74 so he might have spent a good deal of time just sitting around Hemelite waiting to be leased or bought. I should also mention the Furness Railway Trust might have played a role here in buying Harvey, even if they couldn’t afford or weren’t interested in overhauling him; they saved a diesel shunter from this same steelworks.
My “joke AU” where lots of non-classic episodes didn’t really happen but reflect the engines getting extremely Machiavellian about their own portrayals and pitching the stories to HiT? Well, it’s increasingly not a joke. Anyway “Harvey to the Rescue” didn’t quite go down like that.
It wasn’t the engines who were down on Harvey for “looking different,” it was the railway board. They spent much of the 80s and 90s enjoying the N.W.R.’s impressive new TVS-related revenue streams and getting a real bugabear about controlling their “brand.” They were very big on “branding.” God, the engines came to despise the word “branding” (so did the once-indomitable FC2, who decided to just effin’ retire because he was completely over of some of these big new shareholders within five minutes of their arrival). By 1990, they still hadn’t approved Harvey’s purchase and there were rumors that they were going to “pass” on him altogether. They just didn’t think he fit the “brand” (which mostly meant the RWS engines… and even back in the 80s, long before Gullane or HiT or anyone else, the railway board kind of wished Duck and really wished Toby just didn’t exist. They couldn’t get rid of them, but they considered them deadweight for publicity. They considered BoCo and Bear the same and that’s a whole ‘nother kettle of fish, let me get back on topic).
Anyway, the engines might have done the usual “frank and unflattering commentary when the see someone who looks different” thing, but they didn’t really give Harvey the cold shoulder because of that; that was just the usual light hazing.
Where Harvey did have an ongoing struggle was just… culturally. Industrial engines have a completely different etiquette from railway engines, who can also be casually classist about these differences. Harvey, bless him, did his best to adjust, but he couldn’t learn all the complicated ins and outs overnight and he kept inadvertently giving offense.
Some of the engines were more understanding than others. Guess which were which.
So yeah, Harvey once jumped the rails because he went too fast onto the loop line and tied up three trains, he (gasp) sorted trains in order of arrival instead of order of Importance, his eyes glazed over in boredom in a lot of yard and shed conversations making more references than he could keep up with…
… Add to all this that it’s generally very embarrassing for an engine when they make some mess that needs to be cleaned up; it’s worse still if you have to be bailed out of a jam by the new guy, and then if it’s “that ugly old hook-on-wheels”… oof.
Oh, then poor Harvey gamely tried to participate in the model-exchange method of bonding. He sent Murdoch a model of a Hornby 9F in B.R. black and Henry a wooden railway model of himself. For Christmas. Oh my God. Oh my God you guys. There was so much wrong here that it would take an essay just to unpack, although his biggest misstep was that the custom is supposed to be that you send your own model off to be accepted by the other. Sending someone their own model? What are you, some kind of creep?
(Henry did sort of spout off along that exact vein. In his defense, he’d taken a couple blows to his pride that year, and also he was very sleep-deprived due to some heavy timetables that month. But flippin’ Gordon and James put him in his place (“He didn’t give you his own model because he doesn’t have one, yeh big green plonker! Get a grip!”) Do you know how embarrassing it is to be schooled in empathy by James the Red Engine? Yeah. Henry finally woke up properly and realised that he was being an arse, that time. At the same time, Arthur was having a similar conversation with Murdoch, who realised that if Arthur was telling someone to lighten up about the rules of any particular thing, then maybe he should just grunt ’ah, thank’ee then’ and go back to sleep as the fastest way to restore peace.)
Then there were all Harvey’s many faux pas at washdown. Oh, washdown. Suffice it to say the politics of who cuts in front of whom at a railway washdown are immense. There are probably 28 different unverbalized algorithms by which the order is determined, and you might think that therefore reconciling all the competing factors is an art-form, but it’s not art, it’s a science and there is always only one correct answer. The North Western, if possible, has a pecking order even more labyrinthine than most railways because they’ve been mashing together rules from clashing cultures (different home railways, different B.R. regions, the sea-change that came post-dieselisation) for 70 years before Harvey even arrived. Even Duck can’t articulate why it is that Engine A goes ahead of Engine B but not Engine C, Edward won’t even try, Thomas actually was once the only engine pretty good at laying it all out in great, rambley detail but then again he hasn’t really needed to calculate it since the 60s because he’s tended to at Ffarquhar or he just always gets to jump to the head of the line, only exceptions ever being pending express engines or some sort of Special Special Special Special (that isn’t his own), and the workmen? They've given up trying to have the least say in it generations ago. “Back in the old days” they would have been in charge of maintaining this order, but it’s gotten completely beyond their ability to comprehend, and besides, they just don’t make ‘em as tough and stern as they used to, so now the engines sort it all out themselves. And while it’s possible to catch up engines whose ways were a little different, Harvey was completely lost and nobody could get him up to speed. Several different times, instead of trying, the offended parties just bitched at him. Harvey went through a phase of avoiding washdown completely, which only lead to getting written up.
This was a problem because, as said, by 1990 a significant portion of the railway board seemed to think the best course of action would be to send Harvey away. Him going around grubby and reluctant to pipe up did not help matters.
Finally… Percy Took Charge.
First, with the other engines. One day he just ran out of patience and flipped out on every single engine at Tidmouth, calling them out on what classist twats they actually were, had always been, had been to Percy for the past sixty years, and goddamn it he was not going to let them spend another generation putting down another useful engine just because he didn’t keep his pinkie out when he drank tea, FUCK Y’ALL. (This is paraphrased. I am taking this liberty, however: Percy was so pissed off that he had lost the powers of speech at different points in his rant and so a good bit of it was composed of angry whistling, hissing, clanking, and wheeshing that is incomprehensible to us humans. However, in engine language these sounds are all enormously eloquent.)
The paint fairly blistered off of them, the engines took this dressing-down with surprising mildness, a few even apologized to Percy privately for past slights, and, while of course it was impossible to unprogram themselves overnight, they made a conscious effort to be more considerate. After this, Harvey no longer felt like every day he was rolling into a social minefield.
In addition to Percy’s fury, the railway board’s indifference may have also helped Harvey’s integration into the N.W. family. Because by 1990 it seemed they were seriously considering “passing” on Harvey, even with the Fat Controller and other directors making it crystal clear what sorts of dark or dreary fates would probably await him. And, once the engines were filled in on this, they were most indignant. Even without having been schooled by Percy, they undoubtedly would have been on Harvey’s side. They were not okay with the idea that an engine (ESPECIALLY a steam engine!) could do good work for them for six years only to be sent away into the hostile world again. Sure, in the 1920s that sort of thing happened all the time, but now it was a chancy time to even be a steam engine, and the N.W. engines all knew it.
Besides, no one had “ol’ hook on wheels” ahead of “the foreign shareholders” on their shitlist.
Still, they were rather stumped on what to do. FC3 was already on their side, but there was a powerful faction on the board that he could not be guaranteed to shut down. And the last time they had sent a deputation to their “branding” board members, the board had formally voted to put it down the engines’ forwardness as a mark on FC3’s management.
So… Percy Took Charge, Again.
Knowing he was perfectly safe, he took a spill off the rails right within sight of the station where directors were disembarking for a board meeting, knowing Harvey would be dispatched to the scene.
Harvey was internally freaking out because his role is not supposed to be picking engines off the track and Percy you dumbass you didn’t.
However, Percy is a nice small thing, and Harvey was indeed just able to manage it. This rescue, right in the sight of a good portion of the railway board, did indeed do a great deal to lift Harvey’s reputation among them. This saved him from being “sent away” for some time.
But he wasn’t officially bought by the railway until much later in the decade when, with the issue still unresolved, the Famous Eight (well, actually minus Duck, who had some reservations about the propriety of this thing) put their funnels together and used their fictional personae For The Greater Good.
(They actually did a lot of this in the ‘00s. Long story. Well, many stories.)
Anyway, they found an ally in none other than Britt Allcroft, who agreed to start petitioning for rights to use Harvey in the TVS.
That changed the politics of the situation in a hurry.
In the end, the engines actually wrote most of “Harvey to the Rescue” themselves. It’s moralistic and preachy coz they wanted it to be a morality tale, both for children (they’d already had a good deal of practice in that sort of thing)… and for the railway board (they were sharpening their knives, y’all).
The young cleaners at Tidmouth—all teenagers—were drafted to transcribe their ideas. It wasn’t easy to parse what everyone was calling out and fussing among themselves over, but the cleaners had a ball. (They also teased Thomas greatly when everyone worked out Thomas’s “public-face” lines, reminding him how he would word this sort of thing when there were no kids around who might overhear!)
Percy was absent for the collaborative writing session. And he was pretty hacked off about his portrayal. (I’m afraid the others were pretty amused by their own cheek in the cutscene to Percy just getting shoved around and losing control of his trucks. “As usual… just another bloody Tuesday amirite…”)
Percy was on board for the engines’ rather savage detail that the railway board should be represented by half-a-dozen identical suit’d figurines. This idea was retained by David Mitton’s people with only minor adjustments:

Memetic.
The Sodor Gazette, about the only organ in the universe that had previously been terribly fussed over the camera-avoidant new N.W.R. boardmembers, was delighted. They now run that still as their photo whenever they report on railway developments that the venerable old newspaper is against.
The board was, as a whole, very displeased to be represented in the show, to have been preached to about how Special it is to be Different by the show, and to discover that this episode contained a writer credit for their own engines, whose writing endeavors they immediately banned from the show.
The engines have continued to pitch and draft ideas for TVS, albeit they never again were credited. (Even after the board was brought to heel, the show was no longer held in high enough esteem that the engines were that keen on taking the blame for some of the big-picture executive decisions. Instead any engines involved were simply “railway consultants.”)
However, despite the fury of some members of the board, there were quite a lot who now felt that there was plenty of rather public reason to onboard Harvey properly. So the purchase was at last completed, Harvey given an N.W.R. number, and there was no longer any thought that he would be sent away. Au contraire, he had a very good run of invitations to promo events by Gullane and HiT!
All this drama is now a couple decades old. Albeit it’s been a long and rocky road, Harvey is now quite happily settled on Sodor. He has been transferred to Vicarstown, where his crane comes in very handy when there are mishaps in the loading or unloading of car ferries, and he enjoys the rather undramatic company of engines such as Rosie, Murdoch, Neville, Molly, Sidney, and Whiff, who live there with him, and Arthur, who is often in and out with goods or passengers from Norramby. However, he is often drafted in to help when Tidmouth or any of the other harbors are facing a particularly busy spell, and he is perfectly content to be sent anywhere, for he’s quite one of the family now.
Ignore that CGI episode where Bill and Ben were able to get inside Harvey’s smokebox. It didn’t quite happen that way. They were pretty brash with their teasing during the one time Harvey was sent to cover for the Brendam shunter. Harvey is a pretty passive, easygoing guy, but he put a stop to that by 'accidentally' picking up Ben and swinging him about. (Accidentally! He swears it was accidentally! ... and it's Harvey, so who knows? Maybe it's even true. Maybe.) The trucks and the boats and basically everyone on site still haven’t let the twins live it down.
Also, yes, Harvey was well forkin’ aware that he could pull a damn train by that point. He didn’t need another well-meaning engine to tell him that. By God. Albeit his first venture onto the main line did basically go down the way it does in "Gone Fishing."

Ohhh, there’s so many! How do I pick only one!!
I would love to write a role reversal AU of Grimmjow and Ichigo, with espada Ichigo and substitute shinigami Grimmjow. For one, the concept of a human teenage boy Grimmjow is just hysterical to me. God he’d be such an awkward little dork!
I’m also fascinated by how the story would change to accommodate new characters in different roles. Would Rukia still choose to sacrifice her power and commit the crime of making Grimmjow a shinigami? He doesn’t have any sisters to protect, he doesn’t look like Kaien, he’s just some grumpy delinquent kid, would she help? (I like to think, with what I know of Rukia and her morals that yes, she would help).
But is it even Rukia who’s sent to the living world?
What about Isshin and Masaki? Do they still meet and marry? Did Ichigo become a hollow bc he was killed by Grand Fisher? Or does Masaki marry Ryuuken? What about Uryu?
Is it still Chad and Orihime that become the fullbringers? Or is it Tatsuki and Keigo?
I love working out all the world building changes that happen as a result of these kinds of character swaps, and I’d also be really interested to see how Grimmjow himself reacts in these scenarios.
He’s not the monster, born and made, in Hueco Mundo any more. He wouldn’t have Pantera (unless he’s hollowfied - and is she really Pantera anymore?) What about his Zanpakutō, his fighting stule, his motivations and drives.
He’d still go to rescue Rukia - she saved his life - he owes her the same. He’d still fight Byakuya for her, but he doesn’t have siblings to be telling the captain about why his perspective is wrong. Would he even have the charisma to talk-no-jutsu himself friends the same way Ichigo does?
What about Aizen? There’s no guarantee that he’s got a hybrid background (shinigami-quincy bloodline) would Aizen still be interested in that? Or will his disinterest mean that he wins bc Ichigo and his transcendant wtfuckery isn’t around to stop him?
But yeah. I’d love to take a crack at an AU like that, but it’s super involved obviously, and that makes it very un-tumblr friendly.

Best time to write as in time of day? Or most fun?
I just write whenever I have time. I tend to have less trouble if I reply to a post/thread immediately after reading it. Usually I end up writing in the night but honestly, I don’t need to be in “the mood” to write so whenever is good.
☆ What type of fantasy AU would you like to do one day?
Maybe somethign like Cacao society? Or Spirit Society AU? Idk if those count as fantasy AU’s but I like all sorts of stuff.
I’m more prone to digging into the darker underbelly of these kinds of AUs as opposed to the pretty castles and etc.
☽ Do you like writing angst? Why or why not?

I don’t write a lot of angst on tumblr bc... I guess I’m more cautious about offending someone? And it just... hasn’t really come up. The threads on tumblr tend to be more superficial and the result of that is that the emotions that emerge from writing are also rather superficial.
It’s a bit of a shame. My DMs are where the angst is at.

That’s another big call. One of my weirder crack ships is Sheldon and Leroy Berry. Their personalities are quite different but we saw with Leroy and Hiram that with similar personalities they drove each other mad. Sheldon can keep Leroy close to earth and Leroy can bring some more theatricality to Sheldons life. (I saw someone else (who I’ve forgotten the blog name of) say that they liked this ship so I did get the idea from someone else).

I have no work so pre-NaNo ramblings under the jump as I try to sort out if I’m starting anything new for it, feel free to click through or ignore entirely. 
All fic, because I have no idea what Im doing with any original stuff right now. Most of it is TUA fic. Because I am currently Having An Obsession.
- Speaking of Having An Obsession, primary goal is definitely to get turpentine and patches (the pre-S1, “Diego and Vanya and pregnancy and dealing with trauma by being determined to be better parents than Reginald and finding something else to live for, technically a kidfic I guess even though it probably ends right before or right after the kid if born” fic) finished. Or close to it? Just... to work on it. 
(I’m stalled right now because I’ve written through what my brain termed The First Part, and I have an idea for The Third Or Fourth-ish Part, but need to figure out what The Second Part is going to be in a way that’s interesting to write about. Right now in my head it’s just “?????? Dealing? Somewhere in here we deal with the Question of Doctors, but not The Question of Medication, they need to be closer for that. also in here is where Diego effectively moves in even if they don’t really register that fact til later.” I may write the attached one-shot to The Third-ish Part in my head first, see where the emotional states land, and write towards that? That might work. Or maybe I’ll just put Braille on repeat and go to town.)
But I am not Proper NaNoing -- for one thing I don’t think the above is going to be 50k, especially not on top of the ~7k I have already? I could be wrong, but we’ll see. So other thoughts:
- I would like to get some more words on the Allison-is-born-in-Night-Vale story(/ies) done, because right now that exists as a decontextualized collection of paragraphs, some from the base fic, some from the series of spin-offs where she meets the various Hargreeves (mostly the one where Luther starts getting her show on the moon and falls in love with her from afar). And it’s just fun. I think I need a WTNV refresher, so I may make a point of listening to some of my favorites this week. It’s also good Halloween noise and I can work to it, so.
(Should not just listen to Desert Bluffs episodes. But may do some of those too. Because I love Kevin more than is probably healthy for me. One day I’ll go as Kevin for a con somewhere and have way too much fun.)
- I appear to have lost the bare: a pop opera/TUA crossover file somewhere in my docs? I need to dig it out again and go back to that as well, but I need a refresher on what bits I have scrambled down, because I think that’s also pretty piecemeal.
- ..... I don’t have that much oomph for my other existing WIPs right now, which is dissapointing. Some part of me DOES want to turn the series of Abigail/63!Will ficlets into somethign more than A Series of Kinky Moments, but I don’t know what to do with that, so it’s probably not happening yet.
I may make an effort to work on the eldritch-Sigyn-time-loop fic though. Because I love it and i feel like it’s going to end up just languishing. Or maybe that will be my wind-up to NaNo, since I don’t know what to write lately?
- Things I’d like to start but need to do research for:
-- That fic where Abigail survives but is mute, the metaphor becomes text and in her lack of voice becoming text she finds a way to reclaim her voice and her power, because I still have STRONG FEELINGS about Abigail Hobbs apparently. Like. A lot of them. Like, it’s almost a problem, but not surprising.
However, to write it properly I’d really want to research throat wounds and healing, and I am A Chicken about gory images, so I have to figure out how to research it without risking running into pictures.
-- I ALSO need to research throat wounds and healing for the fic where Diego crash-lands into the 60s a couple of months after Allison, they’re assumed to be married, and they just kind of roll with it. Also, racism in the 60s, and specifically how it affects marriages that are different races but nobody involved is white? Because literally every source I found on my first go-round was only about interracial marriage when one part was. 
(That, or I need to throw up my hands and choose to declare this fic not reality complaint, but I feel like this one I should definitely at least TRY to research first. But goddammit I just want to write fake-married-and-worried-about-everyone-else turning into actual-relationship(-and-still-worrying) [and also somewhere it developed a plot where Diego tries to get into boxing because he has no ability to keep jobs and ends up running into Luther and possibly evolves into threesomes and also collecting their other siblings several months before Five shows up? I don’t know how but it did].)
- Shorter contenders if I need to find something else to think on for a bit include: 
-- The fic where Ben slowly becomes possessed by the Horror.
-- The series of AUs where each member of the Academy ended up being the last one left behind.
-- Luther viewing Vanya as their father’s left-hand team leader to his personal right-hand team leader and coming to her to keep her in the loop and ask advice, which eventually morphs as they get older into a habit of going to Vanya to confess everything he feels he’s done wrong and her giving him a kind of penance
... Do I even have anything else that’s not TUA left? I feel like I should but I Have A Fixation right now, it’s a problem. I need to go back to the Magicians and see if that creeps in. Or maybe something else, but this will work for NaNo, I think. altogether it’s definitely more than 50k, though I’m not planning to write it all at once this coming month, just, it’ll be easier if there’s a plan for me to look at while I’m going ‘but what do I wriiiiiiiite’ than if there’s nothing.
Not even sure I’m really going for 50k, but just. Writing in a Substantial Amount would be nice. For once I think I can do it! It’s been 14 fucking years since I’ve won (or even gone over 10k I believe)! So let’s see how it goes!

WHY DO YOU RP AGAIN, IS THERE A GOAL?: All of my muses are written and taken an interest in for different reasons, sometimes I don’t even know why I decided to write them. I roleplay because I love exploring different characters and dyanamics and it’s easier for me to write like this than forming my own story. But a goal in mind? Be a good rp partner I guess? Or at least try to make things interesting and try my best to portray my characters correctly or in an intruiging manner.

THEMES I WON’T EVER RP / EXPLORE:   Potential triggering content ahead. Rape, noncon, abuse, incest, drug use -not alcohol- ( lyrium I can write fine, it’s just the realistic stuff I can’t do. ), inappropiate under age stuff. Themes where I write a stalker. Sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and racism will never be mentioned by any of my characters. I won’t write smut probably ever, so themes with that I tend to not write. Very likely more, I just can’t think of anything. Within dragon age, I do have a characetr ( Sera ) who will refer to elves as elfy-elves and be pretty anti-elf, which can be triggering to others. Also, animal abuse or gore of any kind.
WHAT TYPE OF STARTERS DO YOU PREFER / DISLIKE, CAN’T WORK WITH?: I can’t work with starters that don’t really have any dialogue (handing something over with nothing vocally said is fine, but when someone is just sitting there, that’s harder to work with unless somethign is plotted). Generally, I like outside circumstances to be explained (locaiton, where in a game/setting this might be occuring, etc), I really like when dialogue is added and body landguage is explained/noted.
WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE MOST?:  Honestly? it varies. I tend to really be into deep, complex characters or characters that appear can be sterred in that direction with more added. Bubbly, energetic characters, fighters (typically female). Quick witted or flirty characters & mysterious types. 
WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE LEAST?:  I hate using the term but mary-sue/gary-sue. I hate saying that, but if a character has no flaws, I won’t be interested. Or characters that seem to just be placed there with no development. 
WHAT ARE YOUR STRONG ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: I try to add as much effort, or at least a lot of effort, in replies & interaction. I am very open-minded and when I get passionate about soemthing, you can really tell. I am easy-going, so feel free to tell me if you want to drop a thread or have a concern. I tend to work well of other’s people’s ideas, usually able to add my own.
WHAT ARE YOUR WEAK ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: I am slow and my queue tends to be slow since I try not to overhwelm myself and stress myself out to the heavens. I try to reach out, but sometimes I just can’t think of anything to say. My muse can be very flickle at times, so replies to stuff can vary. My msue tends to be more for ask memes than replies at times.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE TO EXPLORE THE MOST IN YOUR SHIPS?: Varies on muse, but for my rdr2 characters I’ve been really wanting a sorta of “outside” character where they aren’t directly involved in the gang, but they are in a relationship with oen of their members. Where my muse,w hose in the gang, will tell you rmuse about it and the whole aftermath of everything. Where their partner will understand to an extent, but try to undestand? if that makes sense? I also want enemies to work on a job/project together and deal with that. But this all also varies on muse.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH PRE-ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS?: YES / NO / DEPENDS.  ( I find it easier to write to assume people knwo each other, but an immediate friendship isn’t required. Like my muse may know yours or hear about yours, but they haven’t directly met you before ).

- WHAT COULD POSSIBLY MAKE YOUR MUSE INTERESTING TOWARDS OTHERS, WHY SHOULD THEY RP WITH THIS PARTICULAR CHARACTER OF YOURS NOW, WHAT POSSIBLE PLOTS DO THEY OFFER?: I have a large amount of different muses, but all of my muses all bring something new to the table. Want a guy who seems nice, but can be an asshole with a flick of a dime, who has a secret betrayal plot hidden behind his back? Pick Robert. Want a guy who’s humurous but seems to be hiding under a fake persona? Pick Charley. Want a female assassin who’s very talented anr professional in her work to a fault with her work-alcoholic ways? Pick Evie. Want a sweet and caring character with a heart of gold and will give you advice and comfort? Pick Cassie It depends on the plot, too, but I try my best to add as much to reply to to another. If you ever want more added, tell me! I could give multiple plots, so it’s really hard to put something down.
WITH WHAT TYPE OF MUSES DO YOU USUALLY STRUGGLE TO RP WITH?:  If someone isn’t interested or outwardly hateful of my muse without a valid reason when starting to interact. Beign enemies is fine, but maybe we could write how it became that way? This really varies, so don’t let this steer you away. Just give me something to work with, brign soemthing to the tbale, and I’m usually fine.
WHAT DO THEY DESIRE, WHAT IS THEIR GOAL?:  Varies on muse. Robert: fame/recognition, a legend made out of him. Charley: just to live life happy? He wants to be okay money-wise. Evie: to take down the Templars & help the people of London, not fail and always be successful and outwit her foes. Cassie: everyone around her happy. Sean: His gang to be successful, btu also be sucessful himself, he wants to be admired as well.
WHAT CATCHES THEIR INTEREST FIRST WHEN MEETING SOMEONE NEW?:  Just using the same muses lmao. Robert: Someone who just listens to him and isn’t quick to make fun of him. Charley: If they have a sense of humor and someone he can stand, he’s pretty much fine tbh. Evie: If they can give her any information or aid with her cause. Cassie: How they are feeling. If they let her just listen and seem more open than closed off. Very personality-based. Sean: soemtimes looks, but mostly if they have a similar personality as him.
WHAT DO THEY VALUE IN A PERSON?:  Evie: devotion, kind spriit, efficiency, loyalty. Robert: willingness and empathy despite having little himself. Charley: Honesty. Cassie: Consistency. Sean: reliability. 
WHAT THEMES DO THEY LIKE TALKING ABOUT?:  generally all of them like books (except Sean), events around them, their interests.
WHICH THEMES BORE THEM?:  For half of them, anything mundane or boring. Anything that isn’t relating to anything that’s spoken around / surrounds them.
DID THEY EVER WENT THROUGH SOMETHING TRAUMATIC?:  Robert & Charley (more Robert) witnessed a murder, Robert actually doing that act. Cassie: hearing about the violent nature of her father’s death. Sean: the things he went through with the bounty hunters.
WHAT COULD LEAD TO AN INSTANT KILL?:  A gunshot or anything that could overpower them.
IS THERE SOMEONE /-THING THEY HATE?:  Sean: rich people, Scots for some reason, English people sometimes. When someone disagrees with him on soemthing he is passionate about. Pronouncing and Irish word wrong. O’Driscolls & anyone that’s an enemy of the gang. Evie: Templars, Starrick & Lucy Thorne. People who lie or misled her or others. Injustice. Robert: Someone makign fun of him tbh. Charley: People who don’t plan out anything or are really reckless.
IS YOUR MUSE EASY TO APPROACH?: YES / NO.    - BEST WAY TO APPROACH THEM?: Talk to them. Initiate a conversation. Pretty much that across the board.

Some are worse than others, but generally msot of my muses will listen to you and usually be nice to you if you appraoch them well. All my muses are different from one another, so expect different results / reactions

loose idea i’m too tired to develop but think is incredibly sexy:
qin su and jiggy hook up pre-timeskip, as in, when wei wuxian is still around. jiggy pays more attention to getting (allowed to get) married than hashtag murder so let’s also say that while qiongqi path stuff happened, no one died
madam qin still tries to stop the marriage, except qin su finds out roughly at the same time as jgy (reads the letter over his shoulder? forces him to tell her? who knows) and she goes to madam qi like WHAT THE FUCK, MOM
after she finds out that yeah, mom is not kidding, she was born as a result of rape and she’s pregnant with her half-brother’s child, she doesn’t commit suicide, because come on. instead, she’s silent for a very long time. and then she turns to jin guangyao and says jin guangshan needs to die
it doesn’t take long for jiggy to be like you know what, valid
not that long after that, jin guangyao and his wife qin su lose their child to miscarriage. that’s the official version. the unofficial version is that qin su got some herbs for that from madam qin. they still mourn, regardless
they get closer during that, too. i like the thought of jiggy really loving her, but Also i really like the thought of 3zun, so for the sake of this au, let’s say they’re good friends with (until now) benefits, and find each other #relatable due to both harboring unrequited/impossible feelings (in qin su’s case, she saw jiang yanli on the day of her wedding and died on the spot, in jgy’s case, well)
