Sokkla Month Day 10
Somehow I actually done finished a WIP (crazy, IK). Anyways, if you are halfway reading through and is lost in the sauce, just go watch 86 season 2 ep 11 wherever you watch animes or alternatively, go watch this scene.
Also, just a heads up that this is like, pre-relationship so yeah. Also also in b4 people start a fistfight in the comment section Zuko, Azula and Kiyi are not related for the purposes of this AU.
Last but not least, put on this when you see this (*) & this (***), trust me it'll set the mood (at least I hope it will).

Eighty Six AU
*I'm alone.
Again.
Tired.
So very tired.
Why am I the last one standing? Why?
Is this some cruel joke? The ferrier of the dead, always bringing others to rest, but never his own.

With a start, Sokka woke up with a jolt, the surge of adrenaline now receding as he began to take stock of his surroundings. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the last reminder of his sister, just out of reach on the floorboard surrounded by bits and pieces of screen. Stretching out his hand, he tried to reach for it but the five point harness that prevented him from smashing his head into the main display now held him back from picking up that fragment of the past.
Huffing and puffing, he strained with all his might against the harness, before letting out a yell of frustration that was cut short by the intrusion of a most unwelcome voice. Turning his body, he saw to his left, a lone Legion scout unit, casually approaching his stricken mecha and he swore he saw a glint of satisfaction in the unfeeling robotic eye that stared back.
Did you really think that was the end? How utterly naive.
No, no, no it's not supposed to end like this!
Be honest, this is exactly why you accepted this mission. Always hovering on that edge of life and death, unable to cross over and find peace or truly savour life to the fullest.
Fret not, for now I have come to bring you…deliverance.
His mind now working in overdrive, he glanced frantically for anything that he could use to end his life. Instinctively., he reached for his thigh holster, only to remember that he had given his sidearm to Kiyi. Just as the scout unit raised it front leg to pierce his cockpit and him along with it, it exploded into a million pieces, the voice in his mind terminated in an instant as he saw a girl running towards him, dressed in the colours of his former homeland, the Republic of San Magnolia with a rifle slung on her back, mouthing words that could not be heard as the onboard speakers were shot to hell when his mech was flung a good hundred meters from the exploding sentient railgun. Waving her hand, she however did not get a response.
Gritting her teeth, she held back her angry tears and half stormed off, when Sokka pressed the push to talk button on one of his remaining control panels:
"You're from the Republic of San Magnolia."
At this, the girl turned and replied: Yes, yes I am? Who are you with? Unfortunately for Sokka, the external mics were completely toast, forcing him to to rely on the lip-reader-to-text program.
"I'm with the 177th Mechanized of the Giadian Federacy. My unit was tasked with conducting a deep strike into Legion territory to support frontline operations. Thank you for your support."
Thanks, but are you…..alone? Just you and your Feldreß alone, making your way through God knows how many Legion units?
"Thank you for your concern. The main bulk of the forces should be coming soon, I'll link up with them."
At this, the girl's face visibly relaxed. For a moment, Sokka allowed himself a little leeway to give her a once over. Not too bad, she could've given some of the ladies back in Spearhead a run for their money.
"Will you follow me back to the Federacy?" he asked.
Having been caught off guard by his question, Azula raised her eyebrows. Letting out a sigh, the pilot continued "Look, you're just what, one major and possibly a handful of aluminium trash. We've got more than enough units to spare to take care of you."
Immediately, her mood changed. Who was this ignorant, stuck up Giadian pilot who thought he knew everything about her, treating the people that fought and died under her command like the sacks of useless officers back in District One!
"No." she rebuffed. "I will stay here and fight until my last dying breath. Even if I'm not strong enough to come out on top, I will still give my all."
"Sounds like someone drank too much kool aid." Sokka retorted. "Are you that eager to throw your life away? If so, you should have just stood by and watched."
With his words now successfully getting on her nerves, Azula was fairly certain she would bust that shitty tin can open and emasculate the pilot via her rifle. And she could care less which end she used. Preferably both.
***As she did, an olive green Juggernaut scuttled up to her, warning her to step away. Instead, she signalled for her to pause and instinctively reached for the Para-RAID device behind her head. Unbeknownst to her, Sokka's earpiece was reverse engineered from the same Para-RAID device and thus, was able to listen in on her conversation between Azula and the other Juggernaut.
"What do you think you're doing?! If something happens just make a break for it, I'll cover you!"
"No. Besides, we don't know if there's going to be a fight to begin with. If there's going to be a fight, I'll face it head on, come what may. To back down, is to insult the memories and sacrifices of those who did. That is why I fight, so I can finally catch up to those who went before."
Listening to her, Sokka's brain whirred into action as he realised that the voice sounded very familiar to him.
"I am Captain Azula, the acting commander-in-chief of the Republic Defense Forces. And I will never, ever run from this war!"
At last, the final pieces clicked in his mind and he blurted out "Ma-major?", prompting a shocked "Huh?" from Azula.
"Those whom you speak of, they're long gone. What duty do you have to mere bones and rusted machines?"
"Because they told me to not forget." was her simple answer, triggering a raft of memories that he kept sealed away.
"They warned me about the Legion's assault. They wanted me to fight, to survive so we could meet. That is why, I want to live up to their expectations, to honour their wishes and show them what the end of the war looks like." Pulling out a sketch of a pig dressed in aristocratic uniform and an old faded polaroid from her battle dress, she stared at it for a moment, tears starting to form at the corners of her eyes before turning it around and showing him.
"And also….because he..he told me to not forget him. That he wanted to meet me someday."
One year ago,
Spearhead Squadron Mess Hall
"You think she'll find it?" Zuko asked, seeing him place the polaroid and the drawing in the top drawer of the table.
"Of course. She's a smart cat, she doesn't miss anything."
"Sounds like someone's catching feels."
"Whatever you say buddy."
"....you and I, we're the same. We both fought till the very end, that's why we're here now. You should be proud of yourself, for surviving that long."
At this, the tears that he was holding back all this while burst forth, the pent up emotions over the last year and a half rushing to the forefront, leaving him unable to talk as he opened the hatch of his mech, cursing it for opening as slowly as it did.
As the late afternoon sun flooded his cockpit, he could see the uniform of the major that he left behind all this time when he and the survivors of Spearhead were tasked with the special reconnaissance mission. Unfortunately, just as the hatch was about to reveal their identities to each other, the ear-splitting electronic wail of the autonomous killing machines known as the Legion cried out in Sokka's earpiece, forcing him to shut his hatch as the olive green Juggernaut pulled up beside her.
"Captain, they just reported large movement of Legion outside the walls again!"
Immediately, Azula turned to face the Reginleif opposite her and pleaded " You have to come with us!"
"No."
Before she could respond, the familiar crump of artillery was felt in their bones, before shells burst on the horizon like fireworks, followed by the contrails of rockets screaming over head as helicopters emblazoned with the Giadian coat of arms, a crowned double headed phoenix facing both east and west landed in their vicinity. Once the symbol of expansionist ambitions, now it represented a nation that was looking both east and west to help and make right their wrongs.
"Good job captain. We'll take it from here. Just a heads up, you might want to let the rest of your team know you survived."
"Tha- wait, there were…..survivors?"
"Bruh, that should have been the first question you should have asked." Zuko chided.
"Ty Lee over here was crying her eyes out." Aang smirked. "You were the only one she couldn't contact."
"Was not!" Ty Lee's voice sniffled, her hoarse voice betraying her.
"I did warn you what would happen if you made her cry." Suki's voice warned, her voice promising him anything but a good time, sending a slight shiver down his spine.
"Don't just write us off ya know?" the sergeant major added, as a chorus of men resounded behind him.
"Look, no one's gone ahead of each other. So rest easy."
As the choppers departed, Kiyi took a seat on one of the legs of his mecha.
"You're a dumbass, you know that?"
"So I've heard."
"After all this time, you still want to be a mystery man to her? She was your commanding officer in the Republic y'know?"
"I never told you about her." he snapped.
"You didn't need to, true. I stole a peek into your memories. That is my power, or did you forget?"
"That shock and surprise when she gave her name, who would have ever thought the stone-cold Reaper of the Eastern Front was a big giant softie?" she giggled.
"I'm glad…she caught up to you. She really cares for you and respects you. Don't you want to tell her who you are?"
"I…I can't. Not in this current state. Not when there's still a war going on. What she should see is not the carnage of war, but a world at peace."
"My God, just admit it, you're in l-o-v-e with her. Seriously, what is it with boys and their irrational need to put on a tough guy act?"
Hopping off the mech, she continued "Besides, you've already found your answer for living."
Briefing room
Rüstkammer Base
Walking into the briefing room, he saw his friends snickering at him while Gretel had a large smirk on her face.
"What?" he asked. "Here's the after-action report you wanted."
Keeping the smirk on her face, Gretel simply flipped the tablet around and played an audio recording from his conversation with Azula. Sauntering up to him, she snatched the report from his hands and chuckled while Sokka turned beet red, the tips of his ears feeling red hot.
"So..how did she look?"
"Did you get to see her face?"
"What's she like in person?"
"I didn't get a clear look." Sokka lied.
"Bullshit."
"Hand on my heart, I swear." Sokka insisted. No way in hell am I going to share that with y'all. She's mine.
"Sure you didn't. Just like how you sure aren't a sappy romantic under that cold exterior, hmm?"
"Knock it off, or I'll knock you out."
"Whatever you say big man, whatever you say."
One day, major. One day, you and I will see the end of this war. Together. I promise, Sokka vowed as his squad peppered him with questions.

Rules: List your favorite character from 10 different fandoms then tag ten people.
Oof this will be tough. Most fandoms I have multiple favorite characters but I’ll give this a shot.
Star Wars: This is an incredibly tough one. If you’ve played Jedi Fallen Order you know how amazing Cal Kestis & Nightsister Merrin and they quickly became one of my favorite ships. But if I had to choose only one character from the universe it would be Din Djarin/The Mandalorian. His character is just so badass and awesome and goes on forever. Watching his character development over the 16 episodes as he becomes a father to Grogu. I could be here for a month with all the reasons Din is amazing so I’ll just leave it short here.
Naruto: This is another tough one but Minato Namikaze has always been my favorite character. Dude was such a gentle badass. In the Ninja World where leaving your friends to die instead of saving them to complete the mission was what you were suppose to do, and The White Fang was dishonored after choosing his comrades over the mission, Minato was so badass during the Third Great Ninja War that all the other nations had flee on sight orders if you saw him. He killed a thousand ninja in the blink of an eye and then was back home in an apron cleaning dishes for Kushina. Absolute badass. Getting to see him with Naruto during the 4th Great Ninja War was so great.
ATLA: Ugh so tough. It really comes down to Sokka and Azula for me which isn’t surprising since Sokkla is my OTP. But I think if I had to choose just one it’d be Sokka. So much of who he is as a goofy, smart, kind hearted, intelligent dumbass, is who I’ve been/tried to be in my life. I relate to both Sokka and Azula which is why I love them both so much and this answer could vary from day to day tbh.
Mass Effect: Liara T’soni. Such a badass awesome character. Every playthrough I tell myself I’m finally going to romance Tali and yet I end up romancing Liara again >.>
Star Trek: Captain Sisko. Sisko was just such a badass powerful character. Picard was the federation poster boy. He was the one Starfleet held up and said “look! Look how well he represents our utopian ideals!!!” which is great and all. But Sisko. Sisko was the man who had to make the hard calls, who had to get his hands dirty and do things that don’t fall into that morally perfect little garden the Federation liked to believe itself to be. He had to make harsh calls, do hard things, to protect utopia. In The Pale Moonlight will forever remain one of the best episodes of Trek and nothing will ever be able to change that.
So… I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover up the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But most damning of all… I think I can live with it… And if I had to do it all over again… I would. Garak was right about one thing – a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it…Because I can live with it…I can live with it.
Sisko was a good man making hard choice in a brutal war the likes of which the Federation had never imagined. He had to make the hard calls to protect not only the Federation but the Alpha Quadrant as a whole. As soon as the Dominion had pacified the Federation and Klingons, they would have turned on the Romulans for sure.
Stargate: This is a tough one. Growing up I always admired Samantha Carter. Smart, clever, charming, badass, every bit a warrior as the men. It was inspiring to see a well written female character who was one of the smartest people on Earth, who was compassionate yet firm in her believes, capable of defending herself and her team mates. The Stargate franchise spawned so many great characters but I think if I had to choose one it’d be John Sheppard. A lot of considered him an O’neill lite, and he definitely had a little bit of O’neill to him, but he was different enough and his own character that I really enjoyed watching over the 5 years of Atlantis. His willingness to put his own health and safety aside to rescue his friends and team mates(See S5E01 “Search & Rescue” where despite the fact he’s got internal bleeding and probably a whole litany of other problems, he goes on the rescue mission for Teyla, disobeying a direct order from Sam while also telling her he had more respect for her than any other CO he’d ever served under). It’s that sort of selflessness coupled with his humor, charm, wit, and his ability to come up with clever ideas that leave Rodney frustrated he didn’t think of that, that makes Col. Sheppard my favorite.
SPOP: Catra. Thank you for coming to my TED talk xD
Battlestar Galactica: Lee “Apollo” Adama. This is another tough one like most of my choices, as RDM’s nuBSG had so many amazingly developed, flawed, characters that made them seem like actual, real human beings. But Apollo was my favorite I think. Smart, skilled, compassionate. Strong moral compass... for the most part(we’ll gloss over his affair with Starbuck while married to Dee). I will never not feel bad for him. I think part of him truly did love Dee, just not as much as he loved Kara, and as soon as it looked like he was rekindling the spark with Dee she killed herself. And then they finally find Earth the Second, and it looks like he’s finally going to get to settle down with Kara like he’s always wanted, poof, she’s an Angel and has completed her purpose. Bill is off burying Laura, and he’ll probably never see his dad again. Dude went through so much character growth, so much pain and hurt and ended up alone.
Dragonball: I grew up watching DBZ so it’s always had a soft spot in my heart. And my favorite character has always been a tie between Future Trunks & Vegeta. But I think I’m going to give it to Future Trunks. He was such a badass. His entry was sooooo badass, the way he dismantled Frezia and his father with his sword. When he got back to the future after the Cell Games he wasted no time killing 17 & 18 and then Cell. He was a take no bullshit, don’t fuck around like Vegeta, Goku, and SSJ2 Kid Gohan(All I can think of anymore is Dragonball Z Abridged where Gohan gets so mad at himself for letting his Vegeta show xD) Not to mention kid me for whatever reason was super enamored with his seatbelt buckle style belts he used. Idk why but like 10 year old me thought that was the coolest shit ever.
Teen Titans(the good one not GO): Raven. I always loved Raven and she’s been my favorite TT since I watched the OG show. Her character development throughout the show was amazing. Going from thinking she was too dangerous/weird to love to having friends and a family. Will always be my favorite and it’s not even a contest.

Welcome back guys! I was literally out for 2 months searching Fanfics which can compete my or replace my Azuko ship for the reasons I will tell you. Firstly some part of my morality and culture etiquette where I live in and traditions which are dear to me were heavily conflicting in my mind that should I support this Incest shipping or not. Some said should and other said shouldn't. The other one overwhelmed plus having a sibling elder sister made me more conflicted that how could I? it's so taboo? If I write one what my public image would be? So I stopped supporting Zucest uninstalled the app and started searching good Fanfics of Other shipping which can counter Azuko. I literally read 5 to 7 fanfics a day just to have Zuko or Azula have peace in their life with their partners and you know what I got unnatural hatred or bashing of either Sibs which made either of their life miserable which I hated the most. Zuko centric ones got Azula either dead or made her total maniac. Azula centric ones made Zuko's future miserable or nearly made him small as if he was weak and Idiot from birth and Ozai was right. So let's start with shippings with their fanfics which could have countered Azuko
Zutara
The most celebrated pairing will ever find in ATLA fandom. Every day you will find thousands of writers write for this pair in FF.NET . Even though I hated this pair so much because of three main reasons. First Mutual distrust from the beginning. Second Opposite mindset. Third Impatient Katara.

Zutara whatever you call it. It's failed creation just to feel love life for Zuko.

Reverse Zutara really. Sokka has brains and can control strong girls like Toph and Mai but Azula is too much for him to bear I series he outright fear her. Only in The Day of The Black Sun episode had some courage because she didn't had her bending when she got back he screams literally screams. I read

These are the best ones but what found the worst is they are not at all commited to each other especially Sokka is shown so reluctant and Azula is as casual as Ty Lee which both of them aren't. Sokka either cheats or leads himself in love triangle which I hate the most because one of the life either gets destroyed or damage.

The worst one for me I really feel sorry for Mai but she should have encourage herself to be with Zuko in his childhood days if Zuko could have spoke in War room out of turn she could have been with him in banishment. She could have shown the courage which she have show in Boiling Rock I liked that. Zuko could have known more If Mai led herself open up more. Zuko even left her this show only one side love or to say infatuation Zuko is so cold in Maiko which he isn't. Even though few writers really focus them like.
Miscalculation and Equivalent Exchange by Ablaster86 (I read them)
They are literally used as side couple for Tyzula or Kataang which doesn't show how their relationship can develop and become one. Either their Marriage fails or they breakup which hurts me the most.

Yes most popular even though why I don't know. No Offence to LGBT community neither in the show both of them are shown homosexuals Ty Lee is flirty with cute boys as she claims and Azula is bitchy and frustrated that how boys hover around Ty Lee not me even though she so beautiful as jewel but boys fear her. No signs of romantic feelings for each other rather Ty Lee is bullied by Azula every time as a servant to keep her under her feet. Dominant love relationships exists I like those but Azula and Ty Lee's relationship is like Lion and Cheetah. Once got a chance strike back and free yourself. Just because Korrasami was promoted by creators bring Tyzula in counter. Just because Zuko has Mai and boys fear Azula bring Ty Lee with her who is most terrified from her. Somehow I read some

I couldn't get it what those writers wrote. How could Jet tolerate Firebenders or Fire Nation citizens. It will require whole character arc for Jet to understand Fire Nation like Zhao to believe in balance and harmony amongst nations in Rufftoon's Water Tribe.

Again you know it will so hard for Azula even redeem one to have a peasant as a partner for life same goes to Jet to accept a Firebender.
Zukkaang
To much 😧😧 Zuko and Aang are friends please for God's sake bring characters those are ingrained with same sex attraction. I can't stand this ship didn't even bother to read any of its fanfics.
Azutara
Enemies till last breath and one killed one's last hope. One lost by one in her day of coronation anytime each see one another either of one will die. This pairing can't be supported because each caused huge pain which can't be relieved they can be distant friends but can't lovers. Even though I read one
Measure Each Step to Infinity
This one made me sad of Aang and Katara is too much selfish which she isn't. She likes to be concubine of her former enemy but hates to like live with a man whom she had all hopes of world peace and gave her life to save him. This is impossible! Writer didn't gave good reasons sudden changes.
Toko
This is a very interesting pairing Toph knows Zuko very well and in future they can understand each other as couple but one flaw which only limits them just to be friends is that Toph is a freedom loving girl and Zuko is honour bound to traditions and destined to be a good Fire Lord.

"I know you" "You don't know me" Those are heavy words Ty Lee used for Zuko she knows his depression and messed up life give by his parents. Even though show doesn't show any direct interaction between them except "I know you" Zuko acts as a moral support for Ty Lee. Boiling Rock is another big example Zuko's freedom gave Ty Lee hope to be free.

After whole lot of reading, self introspection and guidance from which I believe Scriptures. I literally fought a battle inside me and tried to find out which will win and Honestly Zucest won seriously just because it was incest I dropped it by societal norms. I was writing a Fic but stopped because what people will say? Crazy, deranged? But I can't resist it's too hot for them to be siblings and not to be intimate other wise I find that if they really wished to repair their relationship stop their all hatred of all those years they need love which will break those barriers and too much love always brings eros. So what's the big deal.
The Fire Royals allow Females to be Fire Lords so how come line continues if Female becomes Firelord and marries a noble even a sage which are below the rank. Household norms in every medieval culture is patriarchal. Which means child first belongs to man and to his family which results child to be a noble and not royal from his mother's line and that child will become the Fire Lord from that line of Family and the Royal line will end. Could it be possible for Princesses of Fire Nation got married with nobles or aristocrats and not to loose their claims to the throne are the Fire Royals that stupid that this will end their line if their females get the throne. Inbreeding is persistent among royals only just keep their divine status
As Azula says "Power is something you are born with" will her child get that power if she marry noble which are below the rank. Big No

A/N: Ultra dark, just how I like my espressos (i drink them like it's water, no sugar no milk)

It wasn't their first brush with it. Hell, they knew it was inevitable. Everything had a cost, no miracle came free of charge. Whenever they were in Caldera, extra precautions had to be enacted as there were still diehards with resources and grudges in ample supply that wished for nothing less than the termination of the one person who orchestrated the destruction of their airship fleet and snatched them out of the jaws of victory.
In Ba Sing Se, the long shadow that loomed over them merely exchanged gold and red for green and brown. Really big trouble.
Then again, she really, really, really was a sore loser.

15 minutes ago...
When he decided to step into the Crucible that morning, the last thing he wanted to do was to meet her head on in a Rumble match. After all, he was only looking to let off some steam, not get vaporized by a stream of arc energy beaming from Azula's Chaos Reach.
"Fancy meeting you here? Though you were still recovering from dealing with that Vex gate on Europa?" she chirped, before blasting him in the face with Sturm. Dodging her shots, he hurled a fan of flaming knives at her, which went mostly wide save one that nicked her shoulder.
"Oh, you're on." she grinned, before blasting him with a Chaos Reach that left him thoroughly electrified and crispified.
Strolling casually towards him, she bent down and whispered "That was for stealing my kill and placing me down one rank on the scoreboard. Nothing personal, honey."
Of course, Sokka the hunter was not one who took insults lying down. Which is why he shot her with a blinding grenade before leaping into the air and spitting out a Blade Barrage that not only tied him for points with Azula, but also ensured that his post-game K/D ratio was ever so slightly above hers, a fact he knew would infuriate her to no end. He too, possessed a competitive streak, just that it was sometimes easier (and cheaper, as Spider's bounties didn't pay much) to let his girlfriend win.
Confident she wouldn't be back up for the next few seconds, Sokka stalked his next victims with all the trademark characteristics of a hunter. Ace of Spades in hand, he calmly placed two more Guardians who were rushing him with a shotgun in timeout, solidifying his spot as number one in the Rumble game. Ducking behind a pillar to reload, he stepped out of his spot only to be greeted by Azula's Nova Bomb hurtling ever so glacially at him.
"Not fair." he grumbled, before the pedestrian ball of Void energy blew him to smithereens. While Sokka whined about the injustice of it, Azula was busy making up for lost ground by zapping Guardians with her Stormtrance and some bursts from her machine gun Thunderlord, which summoned lightning strikes upon her foes as she expended ammunition. Chancing upon Sokka she unleashed another round of Chaos Reach, but was in for a rude shock as her lover decided to fight fire with fire, calling upon an Arc Staff and deflected it right back in her face, leaving her a smoking pile.
"Zippity zappity your Super is my property." he snickered. Suddenly, shots rang out near him and he quickly bounded in pursuit, only to meet a not too pleased Azula that was using a Riskrunner submachine gun. On one hand, he could instantly switch his subclass element but with his back against the wall, there wasn't much room to run. On the other hand, Azula had played her cards perfectly by using Riskrunner against him, knowing that any Arc damage he launched at her would be sent back to him. With zero hesitation, she cut loose and riddled him with bullets, just as the timer hit zero and ending the match.

Checking their post match statistics, Sokka was really, really tempted to rub it in her face as though she took her daily Crucible matches more seriously, he still beat her. But his pride at winning first place had apparently short-circuited his survival side of his brain. After all, it was her who nagged him every day to do some Crucible matches in order to keep his skills sharp.
Turning to her, he opened his big mouth and blabbed "You know, you could have asked me to go just a tinsy bit easy on you."
"What. Was. That. You. Said?" she glared.
"Uh, n-nothing Azula! You heard nothing! Absolutely nothing!"
Behind them, Ty Lee turned to Suki and commented "Your Guardian just had to open his big mouth, didn't he?"
"Well, sometimes he does need a little physical persuasion to get it into his thick skull that perhaps angering a Stormcaller girlfriend isn't the wisest choice."
"Are you going to rez him?" Ty Lee asked as Sokka was blasted into the ground by Azula's Stormtrance.
"But of course." Suki chirped in her best sing-song voice.
Shaking her shell back and forth, Ty Lee replied "Sometimes I wonder if the Traveler made a mistake assigning me to her and you to him."
