Hi purple! Congratulations on reaching so many followers!!!!
Can I participate in the matchup thing :'D?
Here's some info about me jeje
Also just so you know where I'm in OP I'm rn in episode 485.
My MBTI is ENTP, I'm genderfluid but my expression lends towards a more femenine one, I'm comfortable with any pronouns. I'm bisexual with a male lean!
Idk I think you have seen me but I'm smol, 1.60 cm and very thin, I have short fluffy hair and my skin is golden tan c:
My personality is uhhhh... chill I guess? Altough I have moments where I'm more erractic. I'm very passionate about my goals in life, I enjoy singing, drawing and writing. I don't like noisy mornings bc they get me grumpy, I also like to cook and bake. I'm very quiet around people I don't know, and I tend to get lost in my toughts often. In general, I have a dark sense of humor, I like animals, music, art and world history and I won't hesitate to throw some hands if anyone touches my loved ones 😡😈.
Also my types are blondes with golden/brown eyes and black haired dudes who are big and strong. Bonus points if evil.
That's all! Congratulations again and ily baby!!!!

Bee!! You’re so kind, love!!💕💕
Why is everyone considered my ideal match lmao? But I don't mind, means I love you guys!
(but don't worry boo, I got you on spoilers, none for you!)
I added a male and female candidate, so have fun boo~! Love ya bunches!!
Kuzan “Aokiji”
So, you should have been introduced to him already, he appeared like in episode 200 something-- anyway, his chill attitude works good with yours! He also likes to question things around him, so he will keep you on your toes through life!
He also gives me vibes to like world history, at least wanting to know about the world and what led to such actions in the world. I could see him having really good conversations with you on morality and other philosophical topics!
He’s pretty lazy and laid back in nature, so he’s not into drama or making a scene, appreciates that you also have your quiet moments, however, he is a good body reader and is able to know right away when you are having a rougher time. He’s not one to get into your business, but he will let you know in his own way that he cares about you!
I headcanon that his love language is quality time. You don’t even have to do the same thing, could just be sitting next to each other playing some videos games and he’s happy knowing you are content in your little life!
Since he has a rough job, both in and out, he does his best to reassure you that he’s strong and not to worry. He also does his best to protect you, due to you being so tiny compared to him (he thinks it’s cute and you might see a blush sometimes-)!
Nico Robin
Another INTP (like Kuzan, sorry forgot to mention that lol-). She’s the observant type who can read a book, but still know what you are up to! She’s used to chaos from her crew so she doesn’t mind your erratic antics, she finds them rather amusing as long as they don’t hurt you or anyone!
She also has a dark sense of humor! She would be making jokes with you and giggle behind her hand when others get offended or weirded out by your guys’ jokes.
She’s also on the taller side (she’s like 188cm I think? Something like that-), so she also finds the height difference to be cute and might make small jokes about your height just for fun. She doesn’t mean to offend, she just finds your reactions to be too adorable.
She’s an archeologist so you two can gush about history together! Loves that you also find history to be interesting and can’t help but become a bit of a fangirl! She also loves cute animals so you two will definitely have petting zoo dates!!
In the end, she’s very loyal and will always have your best interest at heart, she might be quiet, but she loves you no matter what and is happy you love her just as much!

update
So, as you could have probably guessed, last night/yesterday was really tough for me. I’m so sorry if I caused undue alarm — I very much meant to delete that post this morning after quietly whispering my problems to the internet (I even considered that it was a time I don’t usually get traffic bc I assumed most people were asleep and/or busy with weekend things).
I guess the first major thing I should say after the Apology is: I don’t intend on deleting my account - I really did think about it yesterday but considering I’ve thrown 2Mil+ words onto the archive in two years, I would never take it down without ample warning for those who wanted to download a favorite fic or two; and, now I’m not inclined to delete it at all. Also, thanks to a lot of you who reached out (thanks to EVERYONE but also a large thanks to @aimmyarrowshigh who talked to me for Literal Hours and was so kind and nonjudgemental but also Rational when I couldn’t be and also let people know I was Okay bc I am bad at communicating even when healthy).
If you’ve read ... any of my fics, you know I often write about mental health (and sometimes I even write about the fandom experience/intersection of fiction and Mental Health when I want to get Meta). Whether you’ve read May the Froth Be With You or Nothing Good in Goodbye or Bound to the Light, it probably won’t come as a surprise to know that I’m a person who struggles and has always struggled with anxiety and the repercussions of trauma. I don’t mean to say that I’ve necessarily fully gutted myself to write these things - the feedback I’ve gotten from all of you over the years, if anything, has shown me more than ever how no one need struggle alone, and that my experiences, which I once thought were so isolating and singular, are much more universal than I would have thought five or ten years ago. Yes, I’ve left a lot of myself behind on the page, but time and again people who have read these pieces of fiction have offered up parts of themselves in exchange through comments or messages or art and ideas of their own, which I have always truly appreciated - and have been in awe of their candor.
In some ways, I think I’ve been irresponsible in my writing about mental health and trauma as I examine real problems I struggle with, and problems I know others struggle with, at a pace that I maintained largely to keep people interested in a nice ship with a good dynamic — but also to keep them interested in what I had to say. I have so rarely stopped to actually consider how much self and writing tangle together, how personal the exploration of identity in fiction becomes. I have always skipped editing my fics beyond a glance, and rarely have people read something before I post it because I usually tell myself I simply don’t care about quality; better to produce a product to have people read frequently than get caught up on minutia and perfection. But of course I cared. And care. At my core, I’m a person who wants to connect. And I have so often failed to connect in real life — and, whether or not I’ve admitted it to myself, my self-perception has been so tangled into the production of my writing because with your support, I’ve felt like I’ve finally been able to do just that. Connect. And I fear I have not been as responsible as I could have been safeguarding how precious and important that dynamic is in my heart of hearts.
All this to say that I am sorry for allowing my perceived failure - worsened by a lifelong struggle with imposter syndrome which is something I am Sure so many of us have struggled with — and I am sorry if my erratic posting and concerning thought-dumps have given you grief. The community we write and create for is a precious one because it is our own. These pieces of fiction are our own. These characters and the universes we build for them are our own, and whether or not you’d want to continue supporting me, please know that I am as here for you as you’ve been here for me, and I am forever and always grateful for the world we’ve built together.
Thank you and happy Sunday (and sorry for the ramble).

FKA twigs MEGAREVIEW (LP1/M3LL155X/MAGDALENE
FKA twigs is a British R&B and art pop singer who came up as a backup dancer for various artists’ music videos, and decided to start her music career, releasing her first official EP, EP1, in 2012. I am not familiar with anything she’s done except for her feature in A$AP Rocky’s Fukk Sleep, so I don’t know what to expect, even though I’ve heard good things. I’ll be listening to her two studio albums and an EP she released between the two, chronologically.
 LP1
Tumblr media
I love it.
Although twigs isn’t fond of being categorized as an R&B artist, specifically alternative R&B, as she has stated in an interview with The Guardian, there really isn’t much else to be used to describe her music, and the term is pretty convenient to embody most of the sounds in LP1, so I’ll most likely be using it. The album is a mixture of strong, dark electronic production and twigs’ beautiful falsetto singing, taking form as either the sexually charged, euphoric vocals you hear in the chorus of Two Weeks, or the hymnic elements her voice has in Closer and the intro Preface. These two key elements constantly clash and form something way more impactful than what they’d be individually, and give the whole LP a soothing and simultaneously dark and dizzying atmosphere.
The highpoints in the album are when the two combine into grand moments such as the ending of Lights On, where the production amounts into a huge chunk of pure bliss, sounding like there are tens of different sounds all in sync with one another, or the processed, multi-layered chorus in the next track, Two Weeks. Another great quality to the production style in the album is that it gets to be adventurous when it wants, how it wants, whether by pulling back completely and minimalizing its role to let FKA twigs’ voice shine on Hours, or on my favorite track Pendulum, where the whole song is built around this unstable knocking and simple yet effective manipulated keyboards, completely fading out at times leaving the high-pitched vocals to themselves.
The lyrical themes are all built around love and passion, with varying levels of aggression to romanticism (Lights On, Two Weeks vs. Hours, Give Up) or regret, such as in Numbers, which showcases how far into the electronic side the production can go, with erratic drums and beeping at the start, progressing into some gorgeous synths under some of twigs’ most heartfelt singing in the project. The exception is Video Girl, the most personal track here, where she sings about her time as a backup dancer and the struggles that came with her intent on achieving fame. The lyrics hit hard and it serves as a really nice intimate moment in the album.
For the tracks I don’t like as much I have the two closers: Kicks and One Time, the latter being only available in the deluxe version, which is not on streaming platforms. Kicks, from what I could tell, is all about being enough for yourself, specifically sexually. Without the grand ambitious production from the rest of the album, this outro is left with okay vocals and an odd theme that doesn’t go anywhere, backed by some slightly annoying production decisions, and a nice chorus which is definitely the best part of the song. One Time, on the other hand, is just really bland compared to the craziness of the rest of the album, as it is the most stagnant and uneventful of the tracks.
The sound of LP1 is definitely intriguing, and I consider it a nice introduction to an artist I have high expectations for.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Pendulum, Video Girl, Two Days, Lights On
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Kicks

“You’re younger than I am broken. I dance feelings like they’re spoken, so my conversation’s not enough.”
 M3LL155X
Tumblr media
Read as “Mellissa”, this EP was released in August of 2015, and features 18 minutes of music spanned into 5 tracks, and I love to say there’s not one track here I don’t like
What surprised me about M3LL155X is how “explosive” twigs seems to be compared to LP1, where most of her tracks were sung in a comfortable, soothing falsetto tone, in here she isn’t afraid to let her voice carry out a lot more, which brings some much appreciated strong emotions and power to the songs here, great examples being her fast delivery on the hook of In Time, and her enchanting finish to Mothercreep.
The EP starts with Figure 8, which places the listener dead center in the chaotic instrumentals the project has to offer, with a banging bass right at the beginning. The track slowly progresses from its slightly angelic cadence into the weird, choppy vocal effects in the latter half, giving the track a nice finish. What I find a little underwhelming are the lyrics, sometimes they come off slightly meaningless, at least at first glance, but I feel they could have been used better, maybe to convey meaning other than love and relationships, which is done in the last two tracks, but not in such an effective way in my opinion, specifically on Mothercreep, a track supposed to be a mature hindsight to twigs’ mom’s decisions to her daughter’s life, which doesn’t come off as super personal in a way it could have. Like I said, however, the ending to this song is gorgeous, and I love how the song waits to bring in that climax, it really ends the EP on a huge high note.
To me the best the EP has to offer is In Time and Glass & Patron, the first being this infectious, addictive, ever-evolving fat banger, I just cannot get enough of it at all; and the latter being the weirdest, most electronic-influenced song here (I mention the umbrella electronic genre very carefully because I know fuck-all about it), with the oddest but most interesting progression here. That isn’t to undermine twigs’ vocals, as they are as good as ever, I just wish in tracks like this and I’m Your Doll, where she reaches some great vocal inflections, she’d make more use of them, but to me they feel like the vocals are somewhat teasing themselves to the listener, when they could’ve been used to a much greater extent.
I love this EP, I love its aggressiveness and how it surprised me, but I know, even as good as it is, that all the potential here could have been used a bit better.
RANKED TRACKS: In Time, Glass & Patron, Mothercreep, Figure 8, I’m Your Doll

“Paper cut it, I feel the slightest rip is a river that’s overflowing me”
 MAGDALENE
Tumblr media
Bruh.
I don’t even know what to say honestly, I’m completely blown away. This is heaven.
From the start, I thought this album was gonna be alright, but immediately after home with you I knew this shit was something else. This is by far her most cohesive, beautiful, emotional, greatest album overall. I seriously don’t even know what to say, I’m writing this immediately after my second listen, and I love almost every aspect of it.
I guess I’ll start by the things I liked the least, which were probably the tracks sad day and holy terrain, even though these tracks are at least great. The melodies in sad day are so unique and entrancing, really the only thing I didn’t like as much was the production, which felt like it could have gone a bit further. For holy terrain, I have mixed feelings towards it. While a part of me feels like it was a little weird, a bigger part is amazed at how well these two worlds merged with each other to form a track as beautiful as this; again, it doesn’t stand out as much as some others, and I think twigs sounds a bit like Ariana Grande at the beginning of the hook, but fuck me some moments in this song are insane.
I was a little indifferent towards thousand eyes at first, but I’ve come to appreciate a slow, ascending intro to this mindfuck of an album, and the track right after that, home with you, is pretty much perfect, I have nothing bad to say about it. I love the alternating between processed and raw vocals, and it just ends so beautifully, it’s seriously otherworldly.
“Otherworldly” is actually a great word to describe almost anything here. mary magdalene is a gorgeous look into the ethereal feminine theme this album is solidified over, and sounds like something you’d hear as you ascended into heaven after dying; fallen alien is aggressive like something out of M3LL155X, but even more polished and fits perfect into the context of the album, and after it starts a nearly flawless outro of three tracks: mirrored heart, daybed and cellophane. This is pure emotion, I cannot describe what I felt while listening to these three. The first is probably one of the best songs I’ve ever heard, or at least that’s what I feel right now. I have to be extremely careful not to listen to this too much, so it doesn’t lose its magic on me.
daybed is much simpler instrumentally, with an ambient undertone to the track that just really fits my personal tastes. The lyrics in this track are raw feels, in fact the lyrics in MAGDALENE in general sound much more mature and fleshed out, and I absolutely love it, it’s heartbreak, bittersweet beauty in every direction, all connected by this weird theme of something greater than humanity; if twigs’ intent was to make herself look extraterrestrial with her art, but at the same time undeniably human, then I think she succeeds, because, to me, it feels like she is the music, it feels like she pulls these songs straight from her soul, and that’s why it’s so alien, because it is incredibly human.
For the closer, cellophane absolutely wrecks your heart with a gorgeous piano ballad, and I’m very happy I never heard this song, considering it is the lead single to the album, because it just added so much emotion to the outro of one of the best albums I’ve heard. I seriously cannot get enough of it, and I think I’ll go sleep for a while now just to clear my mind a little bit. I’m sorry if these three “reviews” haven’t gone super in depth with the albums, but I feel like if I talk about them any longer they’ll lose some of their beauty to me, plus I’m not doing this to be perfectly objective, just to share my super biased, super inexperienced thoughts on what I listen to. So I guess just listen to them. They’re awesome. Peace.
FAVORITE TRACKS: home with you, mirrored heart, cellophane, daybed, mary magdalene
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: none
 9.45/10

The Meaning Behind It
Pairing: Hector x reader
Description: The Day of Devotion Festival was meant to spread love, and celebrate the trust people shared with one another. It was a beautiful thing but sometimes it left you feeling a little alone. Still, Hector was here to help you, and show you the meaning behind devotion.
Rating: sfw
Word Count: 1311
Notes: This was an art trade for @aquablossom1! I apologize for this taking so long, but I hope you like it. In the end, I got close enough to my target word count than I thought I would, so the second piece isn’t necessary anymore! Still, I hope you enjoy this, it felt good to finally finish something!
“What does devotion mean to you?” The words left your mouth just as quickly as they came to your mind, so you didn’t have time to decide if you actually wanted to say them aloud.
“What do you mean?” Hector shot you a confused glance, pausing a moment as the two of you walked around the Day of Devotion festival together.
“Well...” You took a moment to consider your words yourself; just what did you mean? Another glance at his cute, confused look and you knew, though you were hesitant to admit to yourself. You wanted to know what Hector thought the festival and the idea of people celebrating the happiness they share while being together… and then some. “I guess I mean, what do you think of this festival and the idea behind it?” You looked away from him to scan the crowd around the two of you. Everyone smiling, laughing, looking so loved and in love. It was a beautiful sight and left you longing for something like that of your own. Of course, you had heroes who you considered friends, who you loved and adored and would surely do anything to make them happy but some days you feel like an outsider infringing into their worlds.
“The festival?” Hector repeated looking around as you did. Sometime between the words, the two of you had begun walking again. “I mean… the tournament was fun.” He shrugged, not really knowing what to stay. “I think the idea is fine enough, I’ve just never been good with words or gifts so beyond the fighting I just find myself lacking, I guess.” He laughed it off, but you still pondered it a little more.
“So… you’ve never wanted someone special to spend this time with?” You mused coyly. “Personally… I think it would be nice to have someone like that, you know? I like the idea of getting to spend quality time with them, getting to spoil them a little...” You couldn’t help but laugh, but Hector thought the sound came out a little bitter. “But that dream feels a little far away here in Askr.”
“I don’t see why,” Hector countered, trying his best to get a glance at your expression while the two of you walked. You had your head cast down, though, and since he was taller he couldn’t get a good look. From the tone of your voice though, he could gather you weren’t feeling as happy as you were moments before. “Listen, I’m not claiming I really know what’s happening with you, a lot of things are beyond me in that aspect… but, friend, I think the only reason you feel like an outsider is because you’ve convinced yourself you are one.” You paused again, and Hector took the chance to admire your shocked face. “When you feel like that, don’t be afraid to tell the people around you. E-even if I can’t offer much in the way of words or advice, just know I’ll be here for you when you need it.” Your shocked expression slowly melted into an easy smile; you couldn’t help but to shake your head gently, letting out a genuine laugh. Hector was happy to know he somehow managed to lift your spirits.
“Thank you, Hector. You… really have helped me.” The place where the two of you had stopped was actually void of many people. Somehow, the two of you had ended up more or less alone. You didn’t mind though, happy to have him to yourself for a bit. “But, I have to ask again… what does devotion mean to you? For real this time.” Your eyes had met and for a moment, the world seemed to stop; there was nothing but you and Hector, lost amongst the murmurs of the crowd.
“I...” He paused, deciding to take a moment longer to consider his words. “I suppose it’s trusting someone so much you feel like you could do anything for them?” His answer was more of a question than an answer but you didn’t mind, nodding along with his response.
“In that case… do you have anyone like that in your life?” You were hesitant to speak the words but somehow forced yourself to speak them, desperate to hear his answer.
“Well, I mean… There’s Eliwood. I don’t know where I would be without him. Oh, and Lyn too!” He seemed so happy to have the two of them, you were glad he had such good friends, though admittedly not hearing your own name kind of hurt. “And... I can’t help but feel that way about you too, _____-- because you’re the summoner, and I’m a hero, or because of genuine appreciation, I… can’t tell but I like to believe it’s the latter.” He gave you a smile that made your heartbeat pick up, and your cheeks darken.
“I feel the same!” You said quickly, surprising Hector. “I-I mean, I do feel the same, sorry. It’s just… nice knowing you trust me that much.” You laughed, somehow finding the air between the two of you a little more awkward now.
“Forgive me if I seem frank but… I can’t help but think there’s something more between us _____.” Hesitantly, Hector grabbed your smaller hand and held it in his own, smiling in a way that let you know just how nervous he was feeling. It was comforting, knowing your heart wasn’t the only one beating erratically in this moment. “I’ve come to care for you far more than a friend ought to and your words today have only made my heart pound and my head more confused than ever.” He laughed, hoping to let out his nervous energy in a way that wouldn’t have you laughing at him. “Please, say you feel the same.”
“Hector...” His name left your lips before you could find the right words to say, your free hand raising in a mute attempt to calm your beating heart. “For you that’s… a very perceptive observation,” You smiled at him, and he gave you a lopsided smile and shrug.
“Yeah well… when it comes to you, I can’t help myself,” He gave you a sort of apologetic look as if to say him watching you was bad.
“N-no, don’t worry about it! I’m flattered actually and um, surprised,” You admitted flushing. Hector’s eyebrows rose in hope, and you flushed as you looked away from his cute, blushing face. “I never thought you would feel the same about me...”
“You mean it? You love me too?” Hector’s voice swelled with happiness and he squeezed your hand a little tighter and began to shake, you thought he might explode then and there from the happiness.
“Yes, yes okay I do!” His happiness was infectious, you couldn’t help but laugh and join in his glee. Before you could stop him, Hector scooped you up in his arms and pulled you into a tight hug, lifting you off the ground.
“You’ve made me so happy!” His laughter rang out, but you had to grip to him for dear life. Not that he would drop you, but you hadn’t been lifted like this since you were a child. “I can only hope I can make you even happier.” He had calmed a moment, placing you back on your feet so he could beam at you.
“Me too, I want to see you smile like this all the time.” You wanted to save this picture of him forever, smiling so wide his face could hardly contain it while looking so dashing in his festival attire…
“I swear to you, _____, I’ll show you what my devotion really means.” He was strangely serious in that moment, and all you could do was nod as you took it in.
“I… look forward to it, then.” You nodded as well, closing your eyes. “Thank you, Hector...”

“Oath” | Uesugi Kenshin
Uesugi Kenshin x Historian!MC. 2nd Promise.
"Where is [Name]? Her breakfast won't stay warm forever." Kenshin remarked as he glared at the untouched food across the table from him.
It was rare of the Uesugi lord to have breakfast with his allies and vassals, but today was an exception. After a night of drinking away, the sun had risen to represent a new day and to end the banquet held in [Name]'s honor.
"Who knows? Maybe she decided to sleep in today." Yukimura commented as he tried massaging his headache from last night's party. Drinking with both Kenshin and Shingen was a fatal mistake, and he was learning to deal with the consequences now.
"Let our lovely goddess catch some rest for her beauty then. She needs it." Shingen stated as he picked up his chopsticks and began to eat.
"That can't be true. I sent a maid to go fetch her for breakfast, yet the maid hasn't returned." Kenshin brought up as he cast a glance at Sasuke, wondering why his ninja had been quiet for quite some time.
Little did Kenshin know that Sasuke had intervened earlier and suggested to the maid that he would go fetch [Name] himself instead. Of course, he already knew that she had set out for her journey to Azuchi and wouldn't be here at all. He just wanted to continue [Name]’s cover and buy her some more time.
"Perhaps she insisted on sleeping in," Sasuke spoke, hoping that Kenshin would buy into the idea and no longer question it.
"No, I won't allow for this sort of defiance in this castle. [Name] may be a woman, but she will become one of my official vassals soon. I expect her to obey the orders of her lord." Kenshin declared as he stood up and prepared to go find [Name].
Internally panicking, Sasuke was worried that if Kenshin knew the truth, [Name] would be in even bigger trouble. Deciding to distract his lord, Sasuke quickly stood up and moved right in front of Kenshin before he could reach the sliding door.
"Wait, Kenshin-sama. It might be rude to enter a lady's room without permission. You'll most likely be able to see her again sometime during the day when she isn't busy." Sasuke reasoned.
"If you want to live, then move, Sasuke. I don't have time for your nonsense. As the lord of this castle, I will do what I desire." Kenshin reminded as he placed a hand on the handle of his katana.
But before Sasuke could distract his lord even further, Kenshin unsheathed his katana and attempted to swing at Sasuke, intending to push his ninja back at a distance in order to let him escape and find [Name] on his own. Once he saw that Sasuke had jumped back as he had planned, Kenshin smirked at Sasuke and ran out of the room, knowing that the chase was on before they could ever dream of stopping him.
"Wait, Kenshin-sama!" Sasuke called out from behind. Kenshin could see that Yukimura and Shingen had also followed him out of the room, but he didn't care. All he wanted to do was to find [Name].
As he reached her room, Kenshin wasted no time in opening up her shoji screen doors and glancing over at her futon. But as he stepped inside to get a closer look, he saw that the room was empty. There was no sign of her anywhere.
"Where is she?" Kenshin yelled out in a booming loud voice.
"She's not here. Maybe she's somewhere else around the castle." Yukimura concluded once he finally caught up to everyone all while clutching his aching head.
"I want a thorough search for [Name]. Leave no stone unturned or room unchecked. Send out my orders to every maid and vassal now!" Kenshin commanded as he turned to them with fire in his eyes.
"Kenshin, don't you think you're being a little outrageous for [Name]? She could simply be somewhere around here. There's no need for a thorough search just to flag her down." Shingen announced as he crossed his arms.
"Ah, if I can recall this correctly, I believe [Name] is not even here in the castle. She embarked earlier on a journey to Azuchi, but I remember her saying that she would be back in a few days. She's there for reconnaissance, much like what Yukimura would do when he's there." Sasuke revealed, hoping that this would relieve Kenshin or lighten up his mood.
But if looks could kill, Sasuke was sure he would have been stabbed with the icicles forming in Kenshin's eyes. It was clear that his little white lie would not fool Kenshin.
"I don't recall making her a member of my Nokizaru or ordering her to do spy work for me in Azuchi. Since she never asked for my permission to leave, are you suggesting she left on her own accord without letting her own lord know?" Kenshin inquired grimly.
"She may have not given you a two-weeks notice of her leave, but she has no reason to betray you, Kenshin-sama. She owes her life to you for being kind enough to house her in your castle and giving her the freedom of an Uesugi princess and scholar. She would never do anything to revoke it." Sasuke uttered with determination.
"Nonetheless, she left me without warning. I won't allow this to happen. Sasuke, fetch me my horse. We leave now for Azuchi." Kenshin declared with the flip of his black cloak.
"You're leaving for Azuchi now? Why don't you just wait for her to return? Sasuke could be right, and we could get more information if our princess is truly on a reconnaissance mission." Shingen said as he watched Kenshin leave [Name]'s room.
"She won't make it alive if she meets bandits along the way. She may be intelligent, but certainly weak in terms of fighting. I won't lose her so easily. That's why I'm coming after her." Kenshin replied as he walked away.
"There he goes again with an excuse. Acting before thinking. Sasuke, you better go after him and watch out for him. He sounds reckless right now." Yukimura muttered as he looked over at his friend.
"I'm not too concerned about Kenshin-sama. I'm more worried about [Name]. Well then, I'll be off." Sasuke answered as he bowed down to them respectively before taking his leave.
"If only Kenshin was honest with his feelings for her. Maybe she'd confide in him more about her little trips if they were closer." Shingen muttered with a sigh as he and Yukimura left to go back and finish their breakfast.
"Do you think he has some hidden feelings for her? It sounds like he's only possessive of his potential war weapon." Yukimura said, remembering their conversation with Kenshin from last night.
"It may appear that way, but I think it's something deeper for Kenshin. She's no ordinary woman, and Kenshin knows that. Yet he can't help but feel attracted to her qualities too. It's the start of a relationship that he may want to pursue, but doesn't know about yet." Shingen answered.
"Jeez, this is so troublesome. Love sounds complicated and tedious." Yukimura remarked as he rolled his eyes.
"But that's what it is sometimes, Yuki. It's the art of love and war. They are alike in many ways." Shingen commented as he ruffled Yukimura's hair.
“Well, it sounds like it will be two fronts that [Name] will find herself battling in then. If she could even win them in the first place,” Yukimura confirmed quietly.
Meanwhile, [Name] was leading the horse that she had borrowed from the Uesugi clan down to a lake to have it drink some water. It had been a few hours since she left Echigo, but she was on her way to Mino. It wouldn't be long before she reached Omi to where Azuchi’s castle town was located.
Opening up her journal, [Name] decided to finish writing down the events of last night’s banquet even though she had left earlier for bed. Even though this timeline was an alternate compared to the one she knew, she figured it may be still important to keep note of it. After all, what woman in this time had the honor to have a banquet held in their name?
Lost in her thoughts, [Name] didn't even notice the presence of another creature until it meowed softly at her side.
“Ahh!!” she screamed as she scurried away from it and frightened her horse.
But the calico cat was persistent in receiving attention from her and didn't bother to scram. Instead, it approached her again and moved closer to her. By then, [Name] couldn't help but grimace at the fact that she was scared by a little cat.
“Jeez, you're just a cat. But what are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be in a nearby village somewhere?” [Name] asked as she picked it up and placed it in lap, petting it softly and hearing the cat purr in response.
“Mike, there you are! You ran off without warning and-”
But before the man could finish his sentence, [Name] looked back and was surprised to see him dressed in Buddhist robes and carrying a staff. A scar ran down his face but his charcoal eyes expressed concern and warmth.
But hadn't she seen him somewhere before?
“Oh! Is this your cat? I'm sorry, he approached me first and I didn't know he belonged to someone.” [Name] said as she picked up Mike and brought him over to the man.
“Mike ran off suddenly and I came to find him. Thank you for returning him.” the man replied, though he kept his eyes on [Name] as if she was someone he was familiar with too.
“It's no problem. Have a wonderful day!” [Name] replied swiftly as she turned away from him. It had finally occurred to her who this man was. He was Kennyo, the Buddhist monk that had gone rogue and attempted to take Oda Nobunaga’s life at Honno-ji. If it wasn't for her interference that night, she was sure that Nobunaga would have been killed.
“Wait.” Kennyo ordered in a deep growl.
[Name] couldn't help but freeze in her steps, and her heart was beating erratically as she heard Kennyo walk towards her.
“What's your name, young miss?”
“Umm, it's Mai. And yours?”
“Kennyo.”
“Kennyo. I see. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, but if you'll excuse me, I have to get going to meet up with my brother. He's waiting for me in Mino.”
“Is that so? Then I wish you safe travels, young miss.”
“Thank you, you too.” [Name] replied before walking away and getting back on her horse. She would be lying if she said that she wasn't internally screaming during her entire conversation with Kennyo. It was a close call too. Had Kennyo figured out who she truly was, she may have been in big trouble.
As Kennyo watched her ride away, he figured that perhaps she wasn't the one he met on that fateful night. She was still out there somewhere, but he was sure he would have the chance to cross paths with her again. After all, he had some unfinished business with that woman thanks to her interference for saving Nobunaga.
Night had fallen by the time Kennyo returned to his hut in the forest. It was one of those nights where he had to meet up with one of his spies and sit down to hear of any news.
“The Oda forces seem to be looking for the girl who saved Oda Nobunaga’s life in Honno-ji. They've expressed an interest in finding her, and there's even award for anyone who knows who and where she is. So far the search seems unsuccessful, but it has given the people an incentive to keep on the lookout for her.” the spy revealed lowly.
“That devil king...using power for his own selfish desires. If this girl is potentially precious to him, perhaps we can use her against him. This could be our chance to have Nobunaga in our hands once and for all.” Kennyo surmised.
“Shall we be on the lookout as well, Abbot?”
“Yes, we must look for her too. That way we can-” but Kennyo stopped mid-sentence as he remembered the girl he met from earlier. He had doubted his beliefs, but now that he had time to make the connection, perhaps it was her.
“I know who she is, and she's headed for Omi.” Kennyo suddenly spoke.
“You do? Then we’ll work out the details now and plan to find her there. If we can capture her successfully, we can avenge the deaths of our brothers in no time.”
“It won’t be easy capturing her if the Oda forces are after her too. We have to make sure that we reach her before they do. Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you. We must find her at all costs.” Kennyo reaffirmed with a dark tone.
As the night grew long, so did the plans for [Name]’s capture. It wouldn’t be long before she, an ordinary historian from modern times, would be the most sought out person in various power circles of Japan’s finest warlords.
End of 2nd Promise.
