But over time, Ghost would stop being Ghost, and turn back into a person, not an entity- back to Simon. And Price was there to catch him and hold him upright and strong while Simon caught his breath after being buried under the weight of trauma and grief for so long- John was there, holding onto him tight

Simon wasn't walking around alone anymore, he wasnt lost and scared and static-filled- he was broken, at one point, but John Price wasnt the type of person to leave his men broken and alone, letting Simon stretch his legs and even letting him sink back into a mask, into Ghost, cause John knew that Simon would always come back to him back where he belongs

I think when they’re away from everyone else, away from their situation, they feel a lot more comfortable with each other. They’re stuck in a room for the foreseeable future with no one else watching, what is the real point of putting up a front anymore in this situation; this is the man they’re going to be stuck with forever after all, just not in the confines of this specific room. They are both a very specific breed of ultra competitive and devoted, so even though they’re having a perfectly “normal” conversation about literature they enjoyed(Fernando: Machiavelli’s The Prince, he says it's a very good, relatable and interesting guide. Seb: Don Quixote, he told Fernando it reminds him of a certain someone), to everyone outside, it’s like “oh god what is that muffled yelling, are they scuffling???” When they’re not being scrutinized by the rest of the palace and court, I think they can have very calm constructive conversations about running the kingdom(no matter how seemingly competitive they sound.)  Also even if Seb cares less about image than Fernando, I think he still definitely puts up a front, it’s just a lot less negative than Fernando; so this situation gives them a situation where they can be their most free and open selves. Yeah yeah they spend time alone together often, like in their bedchamber, but that still has a notable time limit most of the time, and technically one of them could just dip at any moment. So everytime they get conveniently stuck in a room, they come out of it a lot closer and a lot more aligned, and a lot more fond of each other. I say “come out of the room” but more often than not, they’re found passed out, cuddled together on some surface, the furniture and their clothes in disaray. I’ll leave it up to your imagination how they ended up there, and what their state of undress is 🤭

i dont know how to phrase this like a question basically but

when i have a special interest i get really excited about it and i immediately indulge in that special interest, as one does, but sometimes i get like, too excited? and like i wanna watch the thing but the thing is too good and i have to back off, like its so good its overwhelming? and so i have to put it down and do something else for a second and then i can come back to it. its like eating something really rich, like its super good but its almost nauseating how good it is, like chocolate truffles

i dont think i used to do this but then again i seem to forget the experience of having a hyperfixation (and i think they are more like hyperfixations bc theyre not super long lasting comparatively and when i lose it i dont lose fondness for it but i do lose interest, like with dr who and supernatural as examples (but also there are longer lasting overarching special interests (eg dolls and hello kitty) that i will indulge with concurrently to that special interest often time combining them)) every single time i have one

if i could hazard a guess why, i’d assume its sort of like a built in tolerance measure, so i dont get sick of it too quickly?

the point im asking is: does anyone else do this? i’d assume so, but maybe im just being anxious about enjoying something too much. and is that an adhd thing or an autism thing? the jury is still out as to what specifically is wrong with me

Dazai would be so frustrated internally. He had been one of those people you give such patience to, and he knows everyone else is only preying that kind nature. He’d subtly try and point out that what they’re doing is bad, but he has always preferred a less direct approach. Threatening. Okay, yes yes, Dazai has turned over a new leaf, but as long as he doesn’t hurt or kill it’s fine, right? Are mild and “empty” threats really that bad? He’d chase away those people easily, helping you to meet others like his coworkers at the Agency or reminding you of the good friends you have and how you should spend more time with them. If you’re the type to tolerate rudeness from others but Not tolerate it when people are rude to your friends, Dazai would lie and claim that these assholes wronged him in some devastating way so you never forgive them.

Ranpo would (metaphorically) hit you upside the head. What do you think you’re doing, letting anyone treat you as less than you are? Not because he cares for you (so he claims), but because you’re associated with him! By allowing these, for lack of a better word, losers to treat you so awfully, you’re taking down his image with you! How would people react if they knew that the greatest detective allowed his friend (..?) to be treated so horribly? That he of all people couldn’t knock some sense into you? He’d huff, reminding you that you’d only need him and the Agency anyway, so why waste your time with such imbeciles 🙄

Nikolai is the one who treats you like shit. He hadn’t originally meant to — not any more than usual, that is — but watching you defend horrible actions from people that didn’t matter made him wonder if you’d do the same for those that do (being him, of course). He’d change at the drop of a hat, doting on you and cherishing you to kicking you out and ghosting you for weeks. But when he messaged you once again, you’d find yourself back on a bus approaching his apartment. Because of course you are, how could you leave Nikolai when he’s been so kind to you? He said he was busy, and what reason did you have not to believe him?

Atsushi would see himself in you but it’d just be a cycle. You’d see others treating him poorly and get angry, and he’d see people doing that with you, but you both would defend your “friends” up and down until exhaustion kept you from continuing. Atsushi is used to being used, so it’s fine, and seemingly so are you, so you’re fine, and it just repeats forever. But, if Atsushi’s options are to hang out with you or those jerks, then you’ll just have to spend more time with him. And if your options are to hang out with him or those jerks, he’ll just have to spend more time with you. The cycle ends, but without any real confrontation, which is how the both of you would prefer it.

Chuuya: your loyal guard dog. If he can’t convince you not to see “those piece of shit, dumbass jerks” ever again he’d tag along. Everything except barking would be on the table - he’d growl when they talked over you or break a finger if he had to. This is the man you want by your side, because he’d fight for your honor when he needs to or take you back to his place for a soothing spa-adjacent bath with amazing scented candles and over the top bubbles, maybe a glass of expensive wine, to unwind and forget it all. Also he’d block their numbers from your phone and threaten them to never contact you again 💀

Whatever it was, it was only blood and gore in honor of Bhaal.

You don't want to do anything about it. It's not you anymore.

You give up the profane gift of Bhaal, and he takes away your life.

The last thing you remember is Astarion's scream. 

You awake, reborn and free.

Immortal. The champion of Jergal.

Astarion kneels beside you, his face red with tears. He says nothing, just embraces you, rocking you in his arms.

Years ago, Astarion prayed. He begged for mercy.

That someone would save him, that someone would help him.

Maybe Bhaal heard him after all and helped him in his own twisted way?

Sent him you?

You were both made for death and pain. Vampires are innately evil. Bhaalspawns are the chaos unleashed.

Two spawns. Two killers. Two doomed beings.

You have made your choice. Your path to the light is not a matter of morality or saving the world.

Your path to the light is the pursuit of freedom.

Astarion's freedom is to defy his master.

Your freedom is to defy Bhaal.

You leave Baldur's Gate hand in hand. Immortal and free.

Mostly you are being adventurers, but sometimes, usually after a century, you settle down together, trying to be normal people.

You don't know who you are, what you like, or what you want.

Astarion is constantly trying to help you relax, to give you something you have never had.

You do the same for him.

Your necromantic abilities have stayed with you, and you use them in your work as an adventurer.

In the end, you're an odd couple. Two anti-heroes. If you need to rescue a kidnapped princess, you don't expect a vampire and a necromancer to help you in that endeavor.

You both have nightmares.

Astarion remembers his past and you see horrible shades of past murders and wake up screaming and scratching your skin.

Sometimes the nightmares are so horrible that you run off into the forest reckless and wild, and Astarion has to search for you, risking his own life in the sunlight.

Of course, it's hard to live in harmony with each other. Sometimes you just piss each other off. Maybe once every two or three centuries.

Then you break up and drift apart.

Sooner or later (usually after a century or two) one of you gets lonely.

But how do you find an ancient vampire who is so good at pretending to be something he isn't?

How do you find Champion of the god of death?

You hire monster hunters to go in search of Astarion.

He hires spies.

You both tell them crazy stories. About how you're both dangerous and cruel, and that monster hunters shouldn't do anything stupid, but should let the clients deal with the targets.

The hunters expect bloodshed from you.

But instead, you throw yourselves into each other's arms like young lovers.

You start anew, as tender and passionate as you were at the beginning of your relationship, and give each other several more centuries of happy life together.
