He doesn't like what I'm writing cause he says that it was just a mistake and that it was fine, but it really isn't, it's so disrespectful and disgusting! F1_updates_live: Charles Leclerc's girlfriend, YN LN, seen today arriving in front of the UK's courthouse in a red SF9 Ferarri. It had been quite a week for YN as she was seen hitting a fan after the said fan pushed Charles. YN took this fan and 5 others to court, no one knows on what bases but what has come out is that she has won the case which means that Charles and YN have restraining orders against the group.

My favorite combination of endgame byler proof dates back to the promotion for season two (bc of course it does)!

About a week before s2 premiered, David Harbour did an interview, and deadass the only thing that makes any sense in regards to what he could possibly be referring to here, is endgame Byler:

"We’re talking about ending Stranger Things at either season four or season five. I know there is an end to the story. It’s a very beautiful end. We’ve already been laying out the pipework. There are easter eggs in season one that you won’t get until season four. You’ll look back and say ‘we’ve been seeing this story the whole time, we just haven’t realized it’. To me, that’s wonderful.”

Now, one could try to argue that David was referring to Will’s sexuality/feelings for Mike here, and I would agree, at least partly, because David’s wording sounds an awful lot like what Noah said recently in his interview with Variety:

"I mean, it’s pretty clear this season that Will has feelings for Mike. They’ve been intentionally pulling that out over the past few seasons. Even in Season 1, they hinted at that and slowly, slowly grew that storyline. I think for Season 4, it was just me playing this character who loves his best friend but struggles with knowing if he’ll be accepted or not, and feeling like a mistake and like he doesn’t belong. Will has always felt like that."

Where it gets complicated though, is that if David was referring to solely Will sexuality/unrequited feelings in this interview, then it doesn’t really make sense for him to frame it as ‘wonderful’.

But, it is important to note that David was talking about the ending, not the beginning of the end, which is what s4 ended up being. His assumption back then, was based on his knowledge of the ending, and how long he hoped the show would go for them to close off that story.

S4 obviously wasn’t a 'beautiful', nor 'wonderful' conclusion to Will’s story arc involving his sexuality/feelings for Mike being built up since s1. So, even if that’s all David was referring to, we are still yet to see the payoff.

This is where the damning proof combo comes in...

Most of you probably know, but as promotion for s2, Spotify collaborated with Netflix for official playlists dedicated to each of the ST characters. It was said that these playlists were specialized and unique to each characters traits.

But especially when it comes to the first song on each of these playlists, almost all of them are instantly recognizable as to why we can assume they chose that song, for that specific character, to start off their playlist. And arguably, even for the most casual of viewers.

For El it’s, Papa Don’t Broach. Pretty self explanatory.

For Will, it’s Should I Stay or Should I Go. Again, self explanatory.

For Mike, it's Smalltown Boy...

To those who don't know, Smalltown Boy (1984) is an unequivocal gay anthem about a young, gay man in the 80's who experiences homophobia and alienation in his small home-town, only to leave (run away) by the end, in order to be happy.

The music video leans even more blatantly into this narrative. Here it is beside this shot of Mike in 4x01 (one of the very few POV shots we got from him in s4, might I add), and it fits quite well with the Smalltown Boy agenda...

To be clear, this isn't just some song the queer community loved and so it turned into a gay anthem overtime. Because, yeah, there are definitely some songs that lyrically just feel like they could be queer (despite not intentionally being), and so the gays sort of claim it and it gains even more meaning and importance over time. However, that is not the case here. This song is undoubtedly one of the most intentionally gay songs of the 80's. And a heartbreaking SYNTH one at that!!!

If the hints for Will were intentional back then (confirmed), then it’s highly likely Smalltown Boy being the first song on Mike’s official playlist, may just be one of the many Easter eggs pointing to the fact that Mike has also been gay (and in love with Will??) this whole time.

Also worth mentioning that when Finn was recently asked about M*leven's relationship in season 5 (the ending), he had this to say;

"I don’t know, I’m really interested… I don’t know, I’m interested kind of like for the end of the show kinda in general (…) Who’s gonna stay in Hawkins, who’s gonna leave. Who’s gonna try to find a life outside. Is there even gonna be a Hawkins? I don’t know. But yeah. I’d be interested to see if Mike stays in Hawkins, or tries to find a life outside of his town. And also, you know it’s hard to tell, like obviously with Eleven and his relationship, but I hope they find, you know, happiness."

When they make-up after fighting in 4x04, Mike tells Will that Hawkins isn't the same without him. After literally listing off all of their friends, basically separating them from Will, "They're great... but-" sort of confirms to us that no matter what Hawkins has to offer, without Will, it's not the same to Mike. Which means if Will isn't going to stay in Hawkins at the end (he won't), Mike probably wont either.

TBH, Will and Mike both having feelings for each other since the beginning, and ending up together, fits a whole lot better with: ‘we’ve been seeing this story the whole time, we just haven’t realized it. And I think that’s wonderful’, than an unrequited love story does....

And the fact that all of these easter eggs, for both Mike and Will, started picking up more prominently after season 2, makes the Duffers whole "what is s2?" act right now even more funny...

What is your favourite genre of music? Or if you don't know how to categorize the music you listen to (like me), what is your favourite song? Or band? Or album? Something like that.

ohhhhh #1 question i am categorically incapable of being normal about <3

i typically just define my favorite music as "loud" or "aggressive" or "abrasive" bc most stuff that fits those descriptors will be in my faves regardless of the genre.

a more specific answer is that there are 3 main things i've noticed that will typically make me go apeshit without fail and they are: 1. hardstyle/gabber/industrial hardcore- sorta basskick 2. sickass metal guitar shredding 3. huge dramatic grandiose orchestral

if something has 1 of these i will probably like it, if it has 2 it will be a top fave, and all 3.... well i have yet to find it yet but im sure i will Ascend. here are examples of said top fave combos.

laur covers hardstyle+orchestral and i Cannot Get Enough of his shit man it goes so fucking crazy hard

metal+orchestral is unquestionably ruled by nightwish, but theyre not on bandcamp and i dont feel like finding other links so this one goes to the still-very-fucking-awesome runner-up, POWERWOLF

riikira and rabbitjunk hit metal+hardstyle, though it's less strictly hardstyle and more just general hardcore* electronica. if its got crazy amens its enough who cares. i put the ones that use actual kicks for the sake of illustrating the point here but these tracks are both pretty far from my faves from each lmao *hardcore referring to hardcore [edm] in this case, even though the genre these belong to is called "digital hardcore", which instead refers to hardcore [punk]. it's a mess out here. did you know theres two completely different things called doomcore where one is derived from metal and the other is derived from hardcore. and you never know which itsd going to be when you click on something in the doomcore tag. im dying squirtle

anyway on the other side of the hardstyle+metal combo is kobaryo [with his alias blaxervant], who's much more about the hardcore side of things and just has the metal as flair, but it is still: the best shit ever

there are of course many other things i love a lot, primary examples being ambient/atmospheric, folk, and anything with a lot of Texture. im not gonna get into all that but i do have an extended list of faves/recs from the last time i was asked about this and went insane abt it. it took forever to make and my actual recs are not entirely the same as my Faves so im putting it on here too.

i keep these curated to the top of my bandcamp profile so they're the first things that display there. it's a bit old by now and some have since been shuffled out, but it's still like 80% accurate.

as for the actual recs: the angel's message is there because it's my fave brand of intense and chaotic stuff and want it to kill you full force. it already has some tracks up there so im not re-linking it

this one i recommend just because i think it's really interesting and out there and i'm curious what other people think of this sort of stuff. it's also the prime example of what i mean when i talk about Textures in music.

wolfgun is an actual rec for being genuinely just really good music. probably the most objectively cool/platonically enjoyable thing in my library

1) hiyakawa/mikado (the night beyond the tricornered window) - a plug for my tiny, spooky, hilarious and obscure af manga series that blindsided me with its pathos (and because i want everyone to read it and then create some very niche fan-content for me specifically! :D wait who said that!) emotionally oblivious loser 4 emotionally oblivious loser!!! except they're emotionally oblivious in fun, complementary ways! their whole journey is absolutely bonkers and unexpectedly heartfelt, and yes, exorcism should be this hot always!

2) natsume/tanuma (natsume yuujinchou) - i know that no one will believe me when i say that this is still THE natsume yuujinchou ship to me at the end of the day! something something if i loved it less i might be able to talk about it more! but lonely kids finding one another and making each other's lives SO MUCH BETTER solely for existing in each other's orbit and being such a paragon of healthy, functional communication and trust and growing connection that still floors me to this day (and with such courage and eloquence that most adults still cannot manage...i say...sideeyeing two v specific adults)!!! theirs was the thread that pulled me into the series to begin with (i literally just watched all the tanuma eps on first pass) and i'm still so grateful for them and everything about them

Since you asked nicely. :) Here's everyone's voice claims I got for my OC's in one video!

Sorry I had to post one hefty video and not four separate ones! Tumblr can't let me do that.

Some more details about the voice claims under the read more! Because I love voice claim stuff and I am a rambling mess about it.

ISO is the only character I for sure have one voice claim for as of right now and that's Ashley Johnson. The most spot on comparison is definitely Lake from Infinity Train. Checks off all the right marks from the slight metallic sound in her voice to a lot of personality and characterization bits that I can see in ISO. Picked some extra juicy voice lines in this video that hit almost too hard with how relevant they are to their character. :') Wanted to pick some lines from Pike and Terra too since both of them have lines that I could see ISO saying as well!

I already posted Chopper's voice claim video and a little explanation earlier, but I recently updated it to include one more voice I had in mind! Essentially, Jesse Harnell is perfect for an overall smooth and humorous tone while Lance Henrikson is someone I can see for Chopper if I want him to be more intimidating.

Last one I cannot for the life of me find the name of the voice actor since it's from old video game material (cast is listed, but they don't say who voices who), but I really wanted to include it since this character and his overall theme and voice were someone I looked to for inspiration for Chopper!

Spark L was both tricky and fun for me! Being a pop star meant I also needed to find someone with a singing voice, so her reel is a smidge longer than the other ones here. :')

Nikki Simmons was the first actress that came to mind since her role in NSR is a really nice comparison to both Spark L's bubbly personality and singing voice. Buuuut. Part of me also says this kind of voice is both too on the nose and has too much energy. I wanted roles that sounded more natural in tone so I snagged some voice lines from Brenda Song and Kody Kavitha!

I'm started to lean more and more towards Brenda Song for Spark L since a lot of her sassy and enthusiastic energy are perfect for Spark L! Also I don't have any lines here, but an extra bonus to Brenda Song is her role as London Tipton because a lot of her lines are way too fitting for this girl. :]

Kody Kavitha is another I look to because her fast and peppy performance is also perfect for Spark L's personality!

Claw Jaw's voice situation is REALLY similar to Spark L's. All three voices I picked for him are all tones and deliveries I can picture for him!

Patrick Seitz was a voice claim I had in mind for the longest time when it came to CJ since he's got a really good guttural voice in a lot of his roles. I could have picked many others that he's done, but I went with Bluddflagg since his tone and use of that fun, pirate vocab are nice things to look to for CJ! Like Spark L's first voice though, I was afraid this was too much energy so I looked to two other roles to be on the safe side.

I'm debating whether or not I want to give Claw Jaw an accent, so in case he doesn't (or at least if it isn't as heavy), Clancy Brown is a nice voice to turn to! He's still got the perfect energy and deliveries for CJ when it comes to both a goofy character but also a tough sounding voice.

Grog is a character I really looked at when getting CJ's energy pinpointed, so I had to include Travis Willingham. Like Clancy Brown, a combo of silliness and seriousness is perfect for the guy!

Summary: You were alone, he knew it the moment he entered your apartment and saw only you in every inch, but you were also interesting, and that was something he couldn't let go of.

He was in town again, his only warning the single text from his unlisted number, the other end going dead as soon as the message was received, no number to save to your phone and reply back to. You’d been doing this for a long while now, your arrangement to keep him close carefully discussed behind closed doors the night before he had to hop on a plane and become scarce again. You understood completely why that was, it didn’t scare you like he’d expected, but then again, he’d expected a lot of things to scare you, things that would scare anyone else for very rational reasons.

Not you though, not once you’d stared down the barrel into those brown eyes and fallen hard.

You were never supposed to be on his list, your presence a prime example of Wrong Place Wrong Time as you’d stumbled upon his hit just moments before he’d pulled the trigger. His target had pleaded with you for help when he’d seen you, money offered in sums you couldn’t dare to imagine owning, tossed around like it was nothing as he put a price on his own life. You never accepted, knowing that if you did then you’d be putting that same price on your own as well, wanting to risk your slim chance of survival as you just stood there, blocking off the alley so no one else would find themselves in the same situation.

He’d shot the man in that same instant, the gun pointed at you next without a hint of mercy.

You’d just stared him down, knew it was inevitable the moment you interrupted his carefully planned work, everything about him gave off the essence of preparations and structure and purpose, you were a fly in the wheel of all that to him, nothing more.

‘Just get it over with,’ you told him as you shut your eyes, trying to hide the fact that you were trembling and it wasn’t from the downpour currently soaking you to your now very tired bones.

He never did, wet footsteps approaching until you felt cold steel against your forehead. ‘Why aren’t you afraid?’ he asked you, eyes seeing right through you, down to your soul as he tried to find the answer. You opened your eyes then, his voice so much softer than the gun held in his leather gloved hand, rain dripping from his ginger-dyed bangs, the colour almost fully grown out from what had to have been a past disguise, and running down his face in streams. He was beautiful, you thought even as the thunder roared high above, the sounds of the city telling you that you still had a chance to run, salvation was only steps away, but you didn’t move, you couldn’t.

‘I am,’ you confessed, but it almost felt like a lie.

‘You should be,’ he replied lowly, and it held the same weight as your confession.

You took the back ways to your apartment, unable to miss how he dedicated every way to get inside without being noticed to memory, a silent promise that if you survived and told someone what you saw then he’d know exactly how to find you. You told him which window was yours, the fire escape leading right up to it, that fact the only reason you’d bought it in the first place; those metal stairs meant freedom for you in case of emergency, something you’d never had before as you moved to the big city and lived through too many unfortunate events to count.

He was taking that away from you as he jumped up, hoisted himself onto the stairs with such ease that you knew you’d never be able to outrun him even if you started now, no amount of window latches able to keep him out. You used the front door and met him upstairs, the security cameras sparsely spread throughout the building only catching you heading home, drenched but not giving away a thing. He hadn’t waited outside as expected, the window unbroken but still wide open as he dripped water all over your hardwood floors, shoes tracking mud over the thrift store rug in the living room.

He was seeing what you had to lose, but it wasn’t much he was soon to realize, your walls and surfaces bare of photos outside of the rare empty frame you’d bought but forgotten to fill, the default photo showing strangers looking happy behind the dusty glass. He lifted one of them up, knew they weren’t yours, and you heard him laugh at your loneliness, the sound so hollow like he didn’t even know what a laugh really was and was simply acting the emotion out. 

Maybe he was lonely too.

You offered him tea or coffee, not knowing what to do to fill the time until the gun would surely reappear again but he refused, his attention now on you like he hadn’t even noticed you come in. He walked over to your tiny kitchen, searching through your cupboards until he found a glass; he went to the fridge and pulled out the pitcher of filtered water, poured himself some without asking, left everything out for you to clean up later if you’d even get the chance. ‘Expecting anyone?’ he asked casually, eyes looking for any sliver of a trace that you shared your life with anyone, the answer in his head before you could even open your mouth. ‘No, you aren’t… don’t you know it’s dangerous to live on your own in a place like this?’

It held no real concern. You offered him no real worry as you just shrugged.

The lights remained off as he let you get on with your night, his eyes always on you as you grabbed a towel to pat yourself and your clothes dry, the takeout you’d gone out to get reheated as you sat at the table and ate. He was never out of sight but he never approached you either, the only other thing he grabbed being one of the kitchen knives from the hand-me-down block you’d stolen from home when you moved out. You wondered if he might throw it at you like a circus performer, maybe it’d hit its target, maybe it’d fly right past and embed itself in the wall behind you, a trick to be applauded for either way, but it never left his hands, the blade occasionally catching the light as he spun it in his fingers.

You thought he might be coming to slit your throat when he walked behind you as you tried to cut through the too tough meat, his arms around you and making you still as the knife was pressed down and sliced through with ease. His movements were so delicate like that of a dancer, he was well trained in what he did, and when he was done he lifted the knife up to his mouth to lick away the sauce before going back to the kitchen. It was tossed down loudly into the sink now that he’d dirtied it but you didn’t jump at the sound, your eyes on him as he then strolled over to the couch and sat down, recently dried mud flecking off his shoes and onto your coffee table as he got comfortable.

He let you finish eating in peace, your last meal no doubt, before taking the gun out again and motioning for you to go to the bedroom, your body freezing cold but surprisingly calm as you did as you were told. There was no rush at all as you both walked in, the door wide open and letting you know that you weren’t trapped, and you waited for his next command when the gun was set down in plain sight on top of your dresser. It was perfectly spaced between the two of you, only two steps away with the grip facing you, an open invitation to grab it and defend yourself.

Images of trying flashed through your head. You didn’t act on them, his eyes shining the longer you just stood there; there was no point, you didn’t have much of a life anyways, the empty photo frames reminded you of that every day.

‘Aren’t you an interesting one,’ he thought aloud, your hand twitching only once towards the dresser before you fell still again. ‘My job is done tonight, and I might have a bit of time free in my schedule if you’d like to hire me, little rabbit,’ he then told you, his eyes meeting yours even as half of his face was shrouded in shadows, the light from your bedroom window making the only parts visible practically glow between his dark hair and even darker outfit.

‘What do you do?’ Your voice didn’t tremble, he was impressed.

‘I make problems disappear, for a price.’

‘Can you make more than problems disappear?’

This interested him even more, and he took a few steps closer to you, your head tilting back so you could look up to him. ‘What did you have in mind?’

You couldn’t say it, he already knew the answer already, and he considered what you wanted before taking off his coat and folding it up, the slightly damp leather creaking as it was placed on your dresser next to his weapon. He opened his arms to you, the gun still just in reach as he waited, and you could only stare at him as you walked forward; he wrapped his arms around you as you let your head fall against his shoulder, and the hug held nothing but the transaction as he attempted to make your loneliness disappear. He was warm as the rain continued to fall outside, his controlled breathing rustling your hair ever so slightly as the trembling began, your shaking hands reaching up to cling to his black sweater.

When you’d awoken the next morning you’d found your apartment empty again, although there was a text from an unfamiliar number on your phone telling you, ‘Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful,’ the line pulled directly from your copy of Frankenstien, the book open to the page and waiting for you to notice it on your dresser where the gun had been.

He’d returned to you a few months later, another new number with a quote alerting you to his arrival before you’d heard him tapping on the window, this time waiting for you to let him in. This situation repeated many times over the year, each time with a text, each time the two of you just retreating to your bedroom where he held you and stole your loneliness for hours at a time, never once telling you about where he’d been or what he’d done. Your frames were still empty all the while, and with every visit he’d hold you closer, share his warmth with you as he threaded bare fingers through your hair, let you lay there in silence or cry into his chest if you needed to.

He slowly filled all your empty spaces, even if just for a little while, and you wondered how large your bill must be getting with each press of split lips to the top of your head and bloodied knuckles tracing the curve of your flushed cheeks. You never asked for something of his to remember him by until the night you finally spoke, your body completely in his lap as he held you, your fingertips brushing over fresh bruises spreading over his bare chest.

‘I might not be able to afford you at this rate,’ you murmured, and when he breathed out a laugh it didn’t feel like he was acting anymore.

‘I do the jobs that interest me for free, you know,’ he whispered into your ear, hand coming up to run over your jaw until you couldn’t help but look up at him. ‘That was just the first time, though.’

‘What about now?’ Something inside of you told you to be afraid as you looked into brown eyes so dark they almost looked black, the red and purple painting his eyebrow to his cheek warning you of the danger, but you weren’t afraid, you never had been.

He didn’t answer you, his mouth finding yours as colours shone through cheap curtains and shrouded you both in a halo of store neons and street lights.

That was months ago, his latest text reading, ‘There are darknesses in life and there are lights; you are one of the lights, the light of all lights.’ Bram Stoker, tonight, Dracula. You screenshotted it as you did with all his quotes, it saved to your phone with all the others before deleting the now useless chat and unlocking the latch over your window. He arrived less than an hour later, the smell of cheap takeout making him smirk as he looked at the feast laid out for him. ‘Hello again, little rabbit,’ he said into your neck as he wrapped his arms around you, his gloves already removed so he could feel you against his hot skin.

‘Hello, Murdoc,’ you greeted him back, his canines grazing over your skin and warning you of the danger as they always did before he noticed the frame you’d placed by your TV, front and center in the gap between the device and the edge of the stand they rested on. He let go of you and walked over to it, lifting it up and laughing genuinely at the sight of himself in your bed, a secretly stolen photo you’d taken when he’d fallen asleep in your arms.

‘You really are interesting,’ he mused as he put it back, still shrouded in darkness as he turned on his heel to face you, the sight so familiar as he filled up every last empty space inside of you.

Maybe he really had been able to make your loneliness disappear that first night, but he’d have to figure that one out himself as you pressed yourself against his chest and kissed him.

He smiled against your upturned lips like he already knew.

Oh Fitzgerald!!!!

Favorite thing about them: His motivation / how much he loves his wife. To me he was a pretty :// character the whole Guild arc, but the second it was established that his motivations were led by his love for his wife his popularity for me skyrocket. I'm just VERY week for the trope of men loving their wives A Lot, especially when they're villains and especially if they love them the wrong way but still love them with everything they have nonetheless (Hades from Hadestown!!!). Also, he's funny! He doesn't take himself seriously and that makes him genuinely likeable for me.

Least favorite thing about them: I don't like stereotypical caricatures in general... I'm not even from the usa and I hate usa cultural (and non) colonization as much as the next person, but I don't think moral principles should be applied only to the people (in this case, countries) you like, y'know. I think stereotypical caricatures are detrimental for everyone. When his ability was revealed I rolled my eyes hard, like, c'mon, at least pretend to treat your characters equally.

Favorite line: “You're like two peas in a pod” sskk enabler line there was an unfortunate page layout here so I can't share the panels without clogging the post, but “I will bring back my family. No matter the price I must pay.” from chapter 35. I like the double meaning in how he's both referring to his ability and to his being willing to do anything, literally even give his life if it's for his family. I find it really bittersweet, Fitzgerald is fully willing to die if he can't build an happy world for his family.

brOTP: I REALLY LIKE HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH SSKK AJKHVAJVGM I made a post about it forever ago but I really like the idea of him being this kind of weird uncle figure to them. It's really fun and endearing to think about.

OTP: I mean, I don't know Zelda, but I can safely say that I want them to be together? Other than that, the concept of putting Fitzgerald in the fukufukumori equation but just for the drama is endlessly amusing alhkcjvsblcfkusbcfwl.

10 hour loop of the stickbug song. This of course is the last song I *actively* listened to, as opposed to the radio which I keep on all the time because if I don't I'll become paranoid of every little sound in the house.

Series wise? Frieren, At journey's end. Non-series? Slowly working my way through a bunch of things, but especially a video about Lisa Frank scamming people.

Spicy/sweet/savory

Oh god I genuinely cannot choose. Like, I am a medium on the spice tolerance, but I LOVE foods with a bit of bite, including my fave pan-fried chicken recipe. But ALSO I'm a big fan of sweet things, like juice and mini-donuts. However, savoury stuff is *so* fluffin' good.

Current Obsessions

Dungeon Dreams! It's a fun game made in RPG Maker, and it's a sort of spiritual successor to a game called Azure Dreams. I REALLY like it. There's so many good things, and it's balanced well, and there's a real sense of progression.

There's a ton of small things to do here and there, but it's not like, 'collect 1,000 seeds we shoved up the asses of random squirrels' shit. It's like little sub-plots and mini plots, and a couple of minigames which can unlock even MORE sub plots.

There are over a dozen recruitable characters, and many characters have their own relationships with each other, and you can even influence them such that they get married in several cases. The characters are all very different and most of them stand out quite a bit from one another - and I'm pretty sure that those that *don't* stand out to me simply haven't been interacted with enough by me to get to the good stuff.

There is a really hateable antagonist, but he's not the villain, and while I do think he's a bad person, he's far from irredeemable. Which like, don't get me wrong, I don't need my antagonists to be redeemable, I just think it's a very delicate balancing act to make a character that's rightfully hated, but who can redeem themself by simply being decent to people.

There's a LOT of nuanced writing, in fact. I'd say most of it isn't super-nuanced, but there's still a good amount. And while sometimes the dialogue options can be a little "huh?" they give you a pretty decent sense of agency, and more than a few of the dialogue options give different outcomes.

I genuinely cannot pick. Since I really got into art my love of colour has flourished. I started out with just one colour here and there, which changed regualrly, then it would be combos - like brown and turqoise, and orange and green - and then it would be whole palettes. And honestly I just CANNOT choose XD

They've obviously got a lot of points put in everywhere, what with all the hero stuff, but what do you think are their signature skills? Do they have any unique ones? Thoughts, thoughts <3

oh jeez! i can immediately see dean generally tending towards psych/phys, obv, and sam more confident with intellect/motorics (like lol e.g. i think it's more or less canon dean is a somewhat better shot, but that boy does Not know what composure even is, let alone savoir faire)

i do think they're fun custom builds though — sam is defoooo high up on volition scale, to the point it's my closest contender for signature, and suggestion—a deadly, borderline sociopathic combo, when you remember all that composure and rhetoric waiting in the wings. but with that much volition—he has a final say in what he is, always and ever, as demonstrated in swan song, the entirety of s9, the list is endless.

and no one can beat his endurance+pain threshold combo. we saw many try. it's just easier to hit him in a thinner spot (electrochemistry seems to be one. not much care over it, but also not much control. the rubys and lady tonis of the world see it plain as day. it won't make him open up to you, but it will work as a carrot for choice goals.)

dean, i imagine, lives life immersed in a conversation between half-light (isn't it fun to think of moc > demon dean pipeline as his natural half-light predisposition steadily getting maxed-out to the point it cancels out his psyche sensitivity?) and drama (which, in his case more of a genuine mutability + desire for connection and participation than a performative weapon. comes with the ability to see through it in others (ruby anyone?) and i'd go with it for signature.)

i believe all of this is modified by his high empathy turned endless feeling of responsibility, leaving half-light in more of a fear of abandonment+pessimism line of thought position than a deranged aggro position.

i'd also bet he's not bad on shivers (all those long drives in the impala, talking gently to the road!) and very much an esprit de corps guy when it comes to hunting teamwork, while sam is the resident encyclopedia king, not opposed to flexing the authority either.

all of this is just the usual framework where sam is immutable and dean is relatively easy to mold, but not easy to fundamentally change, whatever he might think about his own liabilities and failings, of course.

and a little of those unique skills, as a treat; i know DE fandom loves inventing those, which makes all the sense, we don't all live in harry's head, so.

i'd give dean the one called family business, haha. that would be john's voice in his head when it comes to all that hero responsibility paid for by own desires (it would have a field day with WIAWSNB dean or the pre-s6 family guy dean), hunting community (e.g. the whole bobby deal), taking in companions and friends to that end, occasionally finding himself in a mentor position later on. mostly unpleasant. always loses checks against anything sam-related.

sam, i'd go with boy king, lol. his natural ability to pick up and use supernatural skills that, when maxed out enough to mess with his volition, gave us the beauty of s4, let lucifer get hold of him to the degree he did in s7, and in later years made him suitable for trials and rowena's trust and occasional spellwork, but, from his point of view, is just kind of a nuisance, and a dangerous one at that. imagine what fun it would be to listen in on this tempting voice always suggesting he go back and flex those powers, it would be so easy to just—yeah.

In honor of Green Day's new album coming out recently and today being Dookie's 30th anniversary, I figure this is as good a time as any to share with y'all my most self-indulgent Leon headcanon:

Leon likes/listens to Green Day.

And yes, it may be self-indulgent given the fact that GD was my all-time favorite band growing up, HOWEVER!! I have some solid logic backing this up.

Let me preface this by saying that I am, by no means, saying that Leon's a Green Day fan in any way that is more than strictly casual. Consider this a sub-headcanon, but Leon's a pretty casual guy. I don't think he's a diehard fan of anything. He's a gen-x'er, and he's a normal gen-x'er at that. He grew up during a time where if you liked anything a little bit too much (openly, anyway), you were considered a weirdo. I can take one look at his windbreaker + Definitely Not Adidas sneaker combo Capcom had him wearing at the start of RE2 Remake and tell you that this guy was a little trend-chaser. Probably wanted to be well-liked and to fit in. He was the kinda guy who dropkicked his childhood interests into the ocean the second his ass hit high school, lest he make himself even the slightest bit cringe. He's also just a very casual guy in general. Laid back. Not the type to obsess much over anything.

But his high school years are exactly why I have this headcanon. The entire foundation of it is that Leon was in high school when Dookie was released in 1994. I can say, with absolute confidence, that there is no way this man could have escaped the Green Day craze. I always say that Dookie is an amazing coming of age record, and its impact on America's youth at the time is a testament to that. Dookie brought punk rock to the mainstream in a way that was still new and exciting. It was relatable and really resonated with younger people, which made the band insanely popular. To put it into perspective, Green Day was playing gigs in basements, back yards, and small clubs prior to Dookie's release on February 1, 1994, and by December of the same year they were playing Madison Square Garden. The post-Dookie Green Day craze was real.

There's no way Leon didn't hear one of the album's singles on the radio, or at a friend's house, or in someone's car. He'd fall in love with Basket Case, buy the CD to hear the entire album, and the rest is history. A Green Day enjoyer is born.

It's also worth noting that I headcanon that Leon primarily listens to rock music -- always has -- but in-step with him being very casual about stuff, I think he's a very 'I vibe with anything that gets radio play' kinda guy. He liked songs that were popular. Ones that were brought to his attention. That's, in great part, how you discovered new music.

So, all that being said, the best way to summarize his relationship with Green Day and this whole headcanon is this:

Has he ever been a diehard fan who's seen them in concert, worn band tees, or even loves most of their discography? No.

But you know Nimrod absolutely existed in the glove compartment of his car leading up to Raccoon City just because it's the album that had "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" on it.

Why? Because my man's out here weighing the pros and cons of joining the Union, based on his personal goals. You don't get that sort of introspection when creating "good guys". He's allowed to be passionate, aggressive, and brash without sacrificing his logic or critical thinking. He's allowed to be confident and dutiful without comprising his youth and playfulness. He respects his younger sister for choosing a different path than him and doesn't selfishly think he's failed her (or himself). He admires his mentor, Gaius, but doesn't hold him on a pedestal as an impossible goal to become. Lewis' sense of self-worth, self-respect, and self-love is so inspiring. Wish he had more stories.

Favourite Shadow Decree Man Award: Long Mian [Ao Bing]

Why? Long Mian has the single most cliché, yet disturbing reason for joining the Shadow Decree. This man witnessed his beloved dog die and, clichély, became a Taxidermist after his dog was stuffed and Long Mian saw he could preserve his most precious items this way. The disturbing part is that he preserves anything beautiful that catches his eyes: which include people. This one loves that his sole reason for joining Shadow Decree is because they don't care that he's collecting people while he brings them miramon for study. That's fantastic. It also seems like, outside of the Decree members, the public doesn't seem to be aware of his activities, because he still has a job... as a taxidermist. He's a serial killer, with a very serial killer-cliché job, but he's so nondescript, he's able to roam free doing what he does. I respect that.

Runner Up: Jiang Jiuli

Favourite Non-Affliated Man Award: Unas [Shu]

Why? He might not have a lot about him, but can we appreciate how- after his wife died- he decided his best bet to keep moving forward was to become a travelling hippie? So many espers have lost their beloved and have grieved in their own way. This one just thinks it's lovely that Unas' grief didn't lead him to any extremes. He doesn't wallow in self-loathing, doesn't blame others or himself, doesn't go around spiteful. On the flipside, he doesn't try to be overly optimistic or happy-go-lucky. His wife's death has taught him to appreciate each day as it comes and goes, not dwelling on once was or what may be. One just loves the vibe he gives off.

Runner Up: Narmer

Favourite Union Woman Award: Heng Yue [Chang'e]

Why? Love oxymoronic characters, that's why. Yes she's a "cold-hearted medic" but guess what? THEY KEEP HER THAT WAY. She's not outright rude or anything, but she comes off as aloof and disinterested and we love that. She does what needs to be done, using what was bestowed to her (begrudgingly) to help others. And her ultimate goal of undoing the transformations? Solid, stuff. It doesn't make sense for everyone to be on board with the changes, including those part of the "hero" faction. This one is just happy that Heng Yue's stance is not tied to something traumatic. She simply wishes to return to her goal of making affordable medicine for all.

Runner Up: Kaylee

Favourite Shadow Decree Woman Award: Lynn [Hathor]

Why? She's gentle, loves to cook, and takes care of everyone... AS PART OF THE SHADOW DECREE!! In case you haven't noticed the trend, this one's faves tend to fall under the "mismatched personality/actions" type. While there isn't much about her to know, it will never not be awesome that her disposition is so gentle while attached to the inhumane faction that is the Shadow Decree. One needs to know what her role is in the Decree, and how she manages to remain so soft spoken and kind working with literal human traffickers.

Runner Ups: Bonnie, Kara

Favourite Non-Affiliated Woman Award: Biondina [Poseidon]

Why? SHE WAS AN UNDERGROUND FIGHTER AND THEN BECAME A TRAVELLING HIPPIE WITH UNAS. CAN YOU GET ANY MORE BADASS THAN THAT?? She (with Unas) just goes around, taking in the sites, lending a helping hand to whoever she comes across in her path, and just takes each day as it comes. We love the VIBES. Like most of the espers on this list, one wishes we had more stories with her.

Favourite Straight Ship: Long Mian [Ao Bing]/Lynn [Hathor]

- Long Mian's bounty story with Lynn is the first bounty story one ever read and the gentleness in the story between the two just had me gushing. This one can just see their domestic life play out. Long Mian bringing home another "collector's item" to preserve and Lynn watching him at work. Lynn preparing the unused parts for a lovely home cooked meal and Long Mian attempting to sneak a bite before she finishes. Them sitting close to each other talking about their day, chuckling at the antics of the Decree's younger members and rolling their eyes at the dramatics of the older members. Very cosy, domestic living.

Favourite M/M Ship: Li Ling [Nezha]/Tang Xuan [Sun Wukong]

- This one has talked and gushed about LotusMonkey before, several times, but why is this ship my favourite? I just love their dynamic. A lot. One cannot put it into words, just all the little nuances in their CANON relationship makes me uber pleased. Truly, the best way to express my feelings is to read any of the psots this one has made or fanfics this one has written. They have so much going for them and one is just happy to partake of the buffet.

Favourite F/F Ship: Bonnie [Eris]/Jeanne [Gerd]

- This one hit me out of nowhere, when this one realised that they both would just work so well together. They're loud, they're aggressive, they're unapologetically them and one just knows their dates would be bombastic and wild. Definitely nothing canon for this ship to fall on, but just trust me on this. Bonnie and Jeanne are just this sort of innocent (?) relationship? Like, it would be new and exciting and they'd get to just experience themselves through each other in a non-exploitative way? If that makes sense. Too many F/F ships are either soft and sweet or bold and sensual and this one just wants the wild energy of two young adults going wild, acting their age, and being able to express themselves through their alternative lifestyle. Apologies for this explanation, there is just something hopeful that this relationship gives me.

Favourite Friendship: Lewis [Ares] & Li Ling [Nezha]

- They are FANTASTIC FRIENDS. Lewis just oozes "fed-up older brother" to Li Ling's "annoying little brother" vibes and it is immaculate. Love that their relationship is founded on beating each other up during training.

Favourite Family Dynamic: Hyde [Hades], Anesidora [Pandora], Nicole [Nephthys], Kara [Serket]

- Hyde might not have expected (or asked for) 3 bickering daughters but he GOT 'EM AND HE'S A SINGLE DAD OF THREE NOW. Anesidora is, of course, the favourite and most successful, eldest daughter. Nicole is the often over-looked, but nonetheless productive middle child. Kara is the wild and rambunctious baby of the family who gets away with way too damn much. And Hyde is just trying to get his work done in peace.

Favourite Billboard Event:

This event gave us the opportunity to run around in circles on a map. That's it. That's the entire reason one loves this event, so much.

Favourite Sidestory Event:

Love it only because it dropped the iconic Soulmate song. Ahmed's version of has the vibe of coming out in elementary school and just being bamboozled by how every girl and some dudes are obsessed with it and the singer and just not understanding why?? Like, the song isn't bad but, sheesh, you'd think Ahmed just dropped this single directly from heaven with how your friends are foaming at the mouth every time it comes on. Then, a decade and a half later, you're at uni listening to one of those throwback playlists and it's evening, you're at that point in the semester where your grades are starting to stress you out but you aren't drowning in despair (yet) and this song comes on. You never actively listened to this song before, but you know the lyrics and you just casually sing along. As you do, you start to bob your head and get into it and then it hits you: Wait, this song is a total bop. You don't know what you were on when you were younger, but all your friends were right and Soulmate is just a fantastic song, sung by a very smooth voice. Now, whenever the convo comes up about throwback songs or impactful moments in your childhood, you gladly bring up Soulmate and enjoy gushing about it and singing purposely offkey to the lyrics with company.

This is the spiritual journey this one went on, despite this song coming out a few months ago.

Favourite Non-Story Event:

This one loved this event so damn much. It forced me to try out different combinations of espers and this is event single-handedly proved more effective at getting one to understand team synergy than any load of tutorials or reddit pages one read.

Favourite Boss: Apep

As much as ONE HATES how 3.1.7 update made him nigh impossible to beat, he reminds me of Onyx, my all time favourite pokemon so this one has to stan.

Favourite Element: Wind Element

It's the closest to Earth Element. Also, it's green (one's favourite colour)

Favourite Relic Sets (Una & Mui): Tyranny of Zeus (Una) & Sword Avatara (Mui)

Yes, this one is that person that puts Zeus set on most multi-hitting espers. This one is not ashamed of it. Sword Avatara is a given because all the other Mui sets just raise stats or offer 1 time-use skills.

Favourite Relic Combo: (Astral Witchcraft & Sword Avatara)

ONE LOVES SETTING UP COMBOS. Just, nonstop hitting is so much fun.

Favourite Mythology: Chinese Mythology

Listen, every other mythology goes wild with their dieties, giving them very iconic imagery like weapons or elements or animal characteristics to make them very easily recognisable. This one appreciates that lillithgames did so much to match their espers to their dieties visually. It's subtle (for the most part) but also very eye catching and it works so damn well.

Also, Hindu mythology hasn't dropped yet in game, so Chinese mythology is the closest we goin get to that. For now.

Favourite Esper Skin: Tang Yun's Flowing Jade [Six-Eared Macaque]

One will be honest: This one loathes Tang Yun. He's #2 on one's Most Hated list. But, this outfit?? Fantastic! The jacket, the sleeves, the colour palette, HIS HAIR. THIS ONE LOVES HIS HAIR SO DAMN MUCH. HOLY CRAP Normally, this one thinks mullets and anything similar are tacky (*glares at Yun Chuan's stupid little braid*), but this do right here?? It WORKS. It works SO WELL with Tang Yun, one had to put aside one's hatred to appreciate the DRIP. 11/10.

Favourite Esper Drip: Li Ling [Nezha]

Have you seen this man? No, but have you SEEN? THIS? MAN? By far the simplest, yet most effective character style this one has come across in a long time. My goodness. Li Ling has to have the most iconic silhouette to come out of a game for a long time.

Favourite Character Song: Jumpin'

Anything by Nikki Simmons feels like a Disney Channel Original Movie song and this one approves 1000000%. This one loves how cutesy the song sounds in juxtaposition to the brooding teen vibe Zora gives and really sells her character for this one. Honestly, it was a tie between this and Reborn (also by Nikki Simmons) but, since Reborn isn't technically introduced as a character song, this one kept it off the list.

Favourite DJ Contest Song: Psy the Future (Sally's Record [Sif])

WHY IS THIS SONG NOT ON ANY PLATFORM. IT'S SO GOOD.

Favourite XHz Radio City Song: Adíos! by André Aguado

This one thinks André's songs are royalty free, that's why this song appears in the game. AND WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR THAT. This is the song that got one hooked to dislyte. Not the game play, not any of the characters. This. Song. The moment one heard that melody, we decided we had to stick with this game for a bit and, well... half a year later, we still here going strong. If this song hadn't been part of the in game radio, this Hippo would've never been a part of the fandom. Period. Would've deleted the app once one realised there weren't no Hindu gods. So, thank the person who chose this song and then thank the person who approved it being in the game.

Favourite XHz Radio Bar Song: Refuge by Anyar

First, this is NOT the in game version, which combines Ollie's DJ Contest record with it, but STILL. This song is FANTASTIC. It's what Sam Smith tried to do with Unholy but fumbled due to how squeaky clean it came out in the official drop. It feels sensual and seductive at times but also heartfelt and compassionate at others, and the VOICE?? ANYAR?? The grit and gruffness he hits with some of the lyrics is GORGEOUS. LOVE. THIS. SONG.

Ok so i'm about to say something very weird and apparently very Canadian, but my favourite ice cream flavour is tiger tail(tiger tiger, tiger, tiger stripe. I've seen many variations) ANYway this is gonna sound like a weird combo if you haven't tried it but it's basically orange ice cream with black licorice ice cream swirled throughout it (weird ik) but while I was looking up the actual proper name of the ice cream I found out it's a Canadian only thing, not only that but it's a regional flavour so only certain parts of Canada has it???

anyway I fell down a loop hole and now need to know what you call the metal shopping carts at the store, knitted caps that you wear during winter, and also what do you call you 1 dollar coins? (buggy, tuque, and loonie for me)

I also liked to mix up spices when cooking as a kid. Most of the time it didn't work well but one time I found out that if you're making a sweet carrot cake (or cakes like that) and you're making cream cheese frosting, adding a bit of garam masala to the frosting adds a bit of a kick and cuts the sweetness in a non overpowering way!

Okay, before anyone judges me for this, but I've liked this song for many years now, and I associate this song with my KHR duo (Haru and Kyoko).

Kyoko especially gets plagued with people hitting on her as a school idol. While she is always very kind and patient, she doesn't like being approached all the time by random people who only see her as a pretty face. At least try to get to know her first before you try to pick her up.

It's like she's looked at like an item to claim or win over and she doesn't like it. Case in point Mochida challenging Tsuna to a competition to see who can win Kyoko. Oh- she was so unhappy about that. AS SHE SHOULD!!!

There was also the one beach episode where the guys were challenged to a competition because of the girls (Kyoko and Haru) so it's a big mood for them. Haru is the one who is more--- honest and open about her displeasure. From how she treats Dr.Shamal and TYL Lambo, she's unafraid to simply lay down the law with violence if someone goes too far with her.

Punch you in the lips indeed. As she gets older, her patience for nanpa goes into the negatives. Kyoko does continue to be polite about it, but she does know when to put her foot down if someone goes too far. Haru is that friend who will come in like, 'you've chosen death and i'm about to hurt your feelings'.

Both girls are friendly and love to make new friends, so they're generally very open- but the moment they realize someone only approached them to nanpa, that's when Haru especially has zero patience and is just: We're not interested, good bye. Try again in the next life, but even then the answer is still no.

I am so sold on the fact that with Ryohei being so protective over Ryohei (and by extension Haru since they're always together) he taught them two things:

Go for the solar plexus

Just kick them where the sun don't shine and run off.

I like it because two women are singing in the song, so it fits with me associating this song with Haru and Kyoko.

I like how the lyrics have a good amount of sass to it, and that's really Haru speaking. She will punch you. No, you can't buy her a drink, let her tell you what she thinks. She'll come for the jugular and absolutely destroy you- does this get her in trouble?

Kyoko is more passive as she normally is, but there are times when she gets mad and will actually act. She's mostly concerned when it deals with others, so if someone is bothering Haru or is getting hostile because Haru... is being Haru, Kyoko will step in.

I do like to think that she's very perceptive so if she needs to, she will be very cutthroat with the things that she says. She has no problem what so ever with using whatever resources are available to her to make sure you rue the day you messed with her friends. (Haru is the more direct approach kinda gal. She needs to get a punch in. STRESS RELIEF!)

Kyoko is more of the, start shit, get handed scathing remarks-- and after the emotional damage, say hello to her brother! YAY! 8D

The day you mess with a mutual friend of Haru and Kyoko is the day both of them will tag team and will intervene. You'll regret bothering their mutual friend.

To be honest, both girls will step in if a girl is struggling and is in need of help. Neither of them are the kind to ignore a stranger in need of help. Haru is just very righteous in personality, and there is a reason Kyoko wanted to be a police woman as a child. The sense of justice and wanting to help others is strong in her.
