From The Gift
Three Seven turned and walked out of the room, he was followed by a guard to his quarters. When he got to the door the guard stopped him.
“You’re comm link,” He held his hand out.
Three Seven growled and removed his gauntlet and pushed it at the trooper’s chest. He went in and sat on his bed. He wasn’t a social butterfly by no means, but he had a feeling this was going to be a long thirty days.
And he was right. He had to be escorted every where, even to the head. The trooper followed him inside and stood by the door to the stall.
“You wanna sit on my lap while I do my business?” Three Seven growled, the trooper stepped away.
He felt like every action he made was being scrutinized. The troopers had been told not to speak to him at all. He didn’t care if they talked to him or not, he just wished they’d stop staring at him. And that damn tune would alway manage to find it’s way back into his head.
He came across Rex and his men a few times. His guard had to step in between them and block Rex from approaching. Rex glared at the trooper then gave Three Seven a sad smile.
“What’s with him any way?” Fives asked Rex as they sat down in the Mess Hall.
“He’s had it rough,” Rex said simply.
Three Seven was sitting in a far corner with his guard standing behind him. He looked throughly annoyed by the guard’s presence.
“Yes, but he was a total dic-“ Rex glared at Fives. “Di’kut, to Echo.”
“It didn’t bother me, Fives,” Echo looked up from his meal.
“What’s with him and the jedi, is what I want to know,” Hardcase grinned.
“Will you lot stop. The kid went through a lot back on Kamino. His instructor was Dred,” Rex told them. “I was there, I saw how he treated him. Its no wonder he hasn’t beaten you four to a pulp yet.”
“That’s why I’ve avoided going around him,” Echo said. “I read his file. Most of it is classified tough. Even I couldn’t hack into it.”
“Echo!” Rex moaned.
“Captain, with all due respect. I wanted to know what was eating him and figured he’d eat me if I asked,” Echo said, Fives, Hardcase and Jesse laughed.
“Fair enough,” Rex said. “He does give off a strong, go away vibe.” Fives said.
“All he has to do is look at the other troopers and it sends them off running!” Jesse quirked up.
“But not the jedi,” Hardcase grinned.
“Stop it, Hardcase,” Rex glared at him.
“What? I’m just saying what everyone’s thinking,” He cut up his nerf stake and ate a few pieces. “The guys saw them in the barracks together. Said he was almost approachable.”
“You’re talking about something that you have no clue about,” Rex sipped his caff.
“You mean sex?” Hardcase spoke with his mouth full.
Rex choked on his caff and the others stared at Hardcase. He swallowed his food.
“I’ve had sex before,” Hardcase said.
All the brothers made faces and discussed noises.
“We don’t want to know!” Echo exclaimed.
“Fives has too!” Hardcase pointed at Fives and they all looked at him, Fives smirked.
“More than once too,” He sipped his caff and smiled.
“I’ve lost my appetite,” Rex pushed his tray away.
“Hey look, there she is!” Jesse nodded.
Rex and Fives turned around.
“What is she doing here?” Fives asked.
Obviously she spotted Three Seven as she quickly walked over to where he was sitting. The five brothers watched. Three Seven looked up before she even got close, like he had known she was coming. A smile crossed his face but it quickly faded when he looked at the guard that was making his way around the table to stop her.
“Ma’am, I’m afraid you’re going to have to leave,” He put his hand out to stop her.
She looked at Three Seven with wide eyes, he looked down. She then glared at the trooper.
“Why?” She demanded.
The five were straining to hear what was being said over the chatter in the Mess Hall.
“He’s not allowed to socialize as punishment for disobeying orders,” The trooper told her.
She got a thoughtful look on her face. “So, I can’t talk to him then?”
“No ma’am,” The trooper said.
“What if I got something to eat and just happened to sit next to him?” She asked. “I don’t see any other place quite as inviting as in the far corner of the Mess Hall.”
“Ugh, my orders are to keep him from socializing,” He told her.
“And you’ll be doing just that, trooper,” She patted his chest armor and strolled off to get a tray, even though she technically probably shouldn’t even be there.
They watched her come back, almost giddy, and plopped down beside Three Seven.
“Ma’am,” The trooper walked over to her. “You can’t sit here.”
“I’m silently enjoying my wonderful meal, trooper. I’m not socializing with this deviant,” She jerked her thumb towards Three Seven who smirked but quickly resumed a neutral expression.
The trooper growled and resumed his position behind them. The five brothers looked at each other.
“Yeah, tell me there’s nothing going on there,” Hardcase said.
Rex rolled his eyes.
