Old Slimav playing ACNH during quarantine be like
Slider: Look Mav, I built an open bakery in my rose garden! Oh, Dotty is giving me a peach? What a nice little girl she is! <3
Maverick: Yeah hang on a second baby, I’m building a death trap for Brad and Ice ‘cause the last time we played together they pushed me to a pitfall and tortured me with nets until I figured out how to escape

Mav: It's a moo point.
Ice: ....a what?
Mav: You know, a moo point!
Mav: It doesn't matter, like a cow's opinion.
Mav: It's moo.
Ice: *long pause*
Ice: *turns to Slider* Have I been living with him for too long, or did that just make sense?

This is obviously a lil bit geared towards those who were alive and watching tv in the 90s, but youngins who've found their way into these shows, feel free to chime in. I was just thinking that most of us had a singular show that was OURS back then, even if we might've watched the others. Which one did you fandom the hardest / would you have fandomed the hardest?

i really do my best with literary fiction but the problem is that they keep sneaking edutainment in there but there's not like, a blacklistable tag for that, that tells me i don't actually want to read this and would be better off reading nonfiction on the covered topics. i'm sure this seems like a specific complaint but it's happened like three times in the last year and i only managed to finish one of them.
like does this book actually have queer representation in a way that will make me feel seen, or will this book have a part where the main character seems to look at the straight person they're expecting to exist beyond the fourth wall in order to teach them about stonewall or whatever. are they going to start 'as you know bob'-ing actual history at me. why does this keep happening. do the writers actually want to do the fiction equivalent of those youtube channels that just read wikipedia articles, or can i blame bad editors to make myself feel better

After, after, they gave his name to a carrier. The Navy never received so many votes for a single name, but she is brand new, shiny, and bigger than the other carrier. They say it is a she, but they call it USS Thomas J. Kazansky because no other name would fit.
Slider serves on in it the his last few years before retirement, Bradley is there more than he's not and Mav doesn't want to hear that name, see it or even imagine what it looks like. Sarah goes to the launch, and Mav spends the night hugging Tom's pillow and desperately trying to remember the feeling of his husband's arms around him.

Headcanon that Ice grew up rich and because he grew up rich he didn't know SHIT about housekeeping type chores until he made it into the military, and then it was a crash course on how to do laundry, general cleaning, and cooking. Slider fondly remembers the time he had to gently explain that no, Ice, you can't use regular dish soap in a dishwasher. Yes, the bubble river will happen every time you do. No, it won't hurt anything but if I get a goddamned nickname for sliding half down the hallway on your soap spill I'll make sure you get a worse one.
Maverick, on the other hand, grew up bouncing around the foster system. He learned early and learned fast; general chores were spread out amongst the foster kids and you had to do your chore or you would get in trouble. Once he aged out he had all the skills but the years living alone before he met Goose meant he had practically turned them into an art form, something Goose greatly appreciated when they were stateside.
Between the two of them, everyone always assumes that Ice is the homemaker and Mav is a domestic disaster, but its actually the complete opposite. Ice was ready to propose the first time Mav cooked for him, while Mav as officially banned Ice from laundry duty after one too many loads of whites got dyed pink.

something about how phil has missa’s volume turned up because of the time missa was playing on a laptop at a hotel with a low volume mic, something about how despite his mic being normal now phil hasn’t turned his volume down not even one bit despite always changing everyone else’s volumes when needed, something about how regardless of how many people are in the room missa is always the loudest in phil’s pov, always the easiest to hear, something about how you can always hear missa over everyone else from phil’s pov, something about how that doesn’t bother phil in the slightest, something about this never being aknowledged by phil and something about it not needing to be, for it’s how it’s supposed to be
