What about a Sky Toronto adopts Branch AU?

As we’ve seen Sky is probably the most serious pop troll around. And a terrible singer, so he wouldn’t force branch to sing. He loves schedules and regulations and rules. Plus hes more of Peppy’s generation so would understand the terror of the Bergens better than many. (I like to think Sky actually vowed to make the fun time factory when they escaped the pop tree cause he saw everyone struggle to make their own party decorations while under Bergen rule. So he wanted to make sure no troll would ever go without again.)

I imagine tho under normal circumstances that Sky wouldn’t notice branch due to him focusing on his factory, but what about in this AU. Branch kept sneaking into the factory to learn about mechanics from all the factory’s machines? And Sky notices him then?

I'm a big fan of the concept of Sky adopting Branch! His attitude is very similar to Branch's, but seems to be overlooked because of the service he provides.

Branch sneaking in and Sky adopting him is a very funny image.

"Whose grey, depressed child is this? Bring your child to work day was last week... An orphan? Congratulations, orphan, you have been promoted to adopted. Your new office will be available by Tuesday, but you may begin your new duties effective immediately."

I Have an Idea

So, I've been looking at a couple of Trolls aus, ideas, headcannons, and animatics (socola, rfsmith, and year2000electronics mostly). And I noticed there is a distinct lack of human hero aus aside from that one fanart of hero!Poppy and Newsman!Branch and I want to make one to start.

I have a decent outline and have most of the characters chosen roles.

Quick summary: In a world where 20% of the population are born with superpowers, heroes and villains combat against one another in powered up fights. Villains fight for their own selfish reasons, solo or connected to an organization. To combat these organized criminals, most governments have begun hero programs that can be taken by those 18 and older in colleges/universities to prepare those who wish to defend their homes legally by gaining a hero license. Those who don't enter a program and decide to fight crime without a license are considered vigilantes. Vigilantes are considered the grey area and can either be allies towards heroes or future villains.

Poppy Larkspur is a recent hero graduate that is looking forward to being a hero at Toronto's Agency with her hero friends Emily 'Smidge' Hughes and Willard 'Creek' Datura, alongside the rest of the snack pack who all have hero-related jobs.

Satin and Chenille (Codenames) are super suite designers that create hero costumes that are durable, comfortable, and fashionable(of course).

Cooper, Darnell, and Biggie are all support item makers/inventors of gadgets that our main trio rely on. If they need something, the inventors got it.

DJ Suki and Guy Diamond are underground heroes that hold multiple personas when going undercover. They are mainly intel collectors and have daylight jobs that land them in the underground more easily than one would expect.

Sky Toronto is the founder of Toronto Agency, and the mentor of the hero trio, is retired from active hero duty due to him taking in a civilian into witness protection.

This is mostly what I have and I might continue saying more, getting to our favorite grump. :)

Haha! Yes! I love it!

Honestly what could also be interesting in the Sky Adopts Branch AU, would be Sky’s & Peppy’s relationship. Since in the shows it’s implied they’re good friends, but with Branch’s adoption it could potentially strain that relationship. With peppy warning Sky about the difficulties of raising a kid, especially “one that’s like Branch.” Considering how similar Sky and Branch actually act, Sky isn’t a fan of that comment.

Plus also an adorable thought is Branch eventually showing Sky his concept of Cupcakes & Caverns. As a way to try to bond with him. Sky is proud, but his monotone voice makes it hard to show it lol.

I think it would be strained! I could see Sky going up to Peppy and giving some variation of "This sad, previously-unemployed child has told me that you asked everyone in the village already to raise him. These claims are as unfounded as they are laughable. You, laugh for me... See?"

Peppy says that he didn't ask Sky because of how heavy into his work he is, and children need a lot of focus, not to mention I personally think Sky never had an interest in having a kid, so Peppy wouldn't have thought to ask him.

"Excuse noted. Follow up response: I see now that children are the future, and an excellent source of a focus group. Not to mention, I've convinced this one to wear a tie. Look at him, he's like a much less glamorous and unpolished version of myself."

Sky would LOVE Cupcakes & Caverns! Sky's monotone voice doesn't express well but Branch would know by then that if Sky puts something out for production it's because he believes in it fully.

IM BACK WITH EVEN MORE IDEAS! Wholesome edition because they deserve nice things

Despite refusing to wear the bracelets, the Borrowers are very happy to participate in Hug Time. It's one of the things they all missed when living in Bergen Town. Caretakers routinely get dog piled by their broods

They really like games like hide and seek and capture the flag. They claim it's for training. Everyone else is just glad that they're having fun.

Smidge gets adopted by the defenders

Poppy makes a whole scrapbook of the best and worst gifts to give a borrower. This scrapbook is affectionately refered to as "The Sacred Texts"

They don't like big loud parties despite this they still stand guard against any predators attracted by the noise.

I’d also like to add on to this wholesomeness!

Many broods have a big fear of critters so Milton moss lets the defenders bring them to come see his critter care center to get use to them and even let them hold some!

Smidge definitely gets adopted by the defenders and loves that she has a friend group who can keep up with her workout routine!

Creek and kismet finally get to meet each other which makes branch and poppy go into friend matching mode where they try to set up friend dates for them!

Trickee has a soft spot for broods which also extends to non borrower trollings and boy do kids exploit it

Sky Toronto asks for the help of scavengers and rescuers a lot, for some reason they’re both very good at finding and retrieving rare party items they’re very fast at it too.

Borrowers are known to sleep in packs so it’s not uncommon for other trolls to find branch and kismet snuggled underneath a shaded tree dozing off.

Sometimes poppy will remind defenders that they’re not living in the compound anymore and can join in the parties the offer is usually declined but poppy will still save some cupcakes for them.

AAAHhh I love this au so much!!! Gonna go draw some of these ideas now!!!
