June 21st 7:26 A.M Hey Miles So I was wondering, can the wright Anything agency  borrow some of the prosecutor office space? We uh, can’t really use our office rn It’s kind of a safety hazard Miles 7:35 A.M What on earth are you on about Wright? What’s wrong with your office? 7:36 A.M AC’s down Gonna get wayyyy too hot So What do you say Miles 7:36 A.M How did your air conditioner break? 7:39 A.M … long story? Trucy Miles 7:40 A.M No Find somewhere else to go Work never gets done when your children are involved And why don’t you just get it fixed? 7:45 Apparently a bunch of ACs decided to die Can’t get to us till end of the week So this is more can we stay for the whole  We Week Miles 7:48 Still no. 7:50 Fine Enjoy babysitting! :) Miles 8:25 A.M WRIGHT! I told you you couldn’t work here! So why are your children employees here? 8:26 A.M Klavier said Apollo could work with him since  they’re on a case together, Athena pestered  Blackquill till he caved, and Trucy’s there  cause the other two are there So! Can I come work in your office? Miles 8:27 A.M Fine. But only so you can keep them in line. 8:28 A.M Great! I’m on my way up! Miles 8:28 A.M What do you mean “On your way up”?
Not long after sending his question, there was a knock at his door. With a reluctant sigh he called for the person to enter and as expected, it was Wright. The smirk on his face told Edgeworth he’d been waiting. Of course he was. He knew the other prosecutors would let their favored agency members stay here for the week. The only person who would object was Edgeworth himself and all Wright had to do was give him a less favorable option than sharing his office. His two options now were A) Babysit his usual group of children plus the Wright Anything agency himself, or B) Share his office with Wright and have help babysitting. There was only one logical answer.
“Don’t worry, we’ll behave.” Wright had taken a seat on the couch, taking his papers out on the coffee table. So he’d actually brought his work? That didn’t mean he intended to do it. “Our AC is seriously broken. We just need a non-lethal place to work, and the prosecutor’s office seemed like a good idea.”
Edgeworth sighed, “I can’t help every defense agency out like this. What makes you so special?”
“Hmm…” Wright looked like he was thinking about it, but Edgeworth knew he wasn’t. “Boyfriend privileges,” he shrugged.
Edgeworths face turned slightly pink, “That won’t always work. And just so you know, the only reason I haven’t kicked you out yet is because there isn’t anything big this week. Sky and Franziska are flying in tomorrow,” Wright shuddered at the thought of Franziska, “and I believe prosecutor Sahdmadhi and detective Skye are here for work purposes starting Thursday.”
“Well…” Wright still seemed to be trying to do work, Edgeworth’s suspicion didn’t budge. Wright was always up to something, “It’ll be nice to see Prosecutor Von Karma again,” Liar, “And I’m sure Apollo will be happy to see prosecutor Sahdmadhi again.”
Edgeworth nodded and returned to his laptop. He had quite a bit of work to finish before his daughter and sister’s return, as he’d promised to spend time with Sky. When she’d left with her aunt, he’d been very busy and hadn’t even gotten to say goodbye. To make it up to her, he agreed to a movie night when she got back. It’d also be nice to have a runner in the building again. Usually during breaks, when she wasn’t abroad with her father or aunt, she’d help out around the office. This ranged from running papers between prosecutors or the Wright Anything agency, to making sure everyone ate and left at semi-decent times. It was like her part time job.
They sat together in silence for quite a while. The only sound was the scratching of Wright’s pen on paper and Edgeworth tapping on his laptop. Edgeworth’s unease about having the Wright Anything agency around had slowly started to disappear. It helped that Wright kept checking his phone to check in with the others. He had to admit that working with Wright like this was nice. Maybe this week wouldn’t be so bad.
And then the phone rang…
---
“So herr forehead, why can’t you use the agency again?”
“The AC broke,” Apollo mumbled, he was looking over evidence for his case tomorrow.
Simon, who was feeding Taka, looked over, “Did Wright-dono forget to pay the bill?” Athena snickered and Trucy, who had been practising card tricks, stopped.
“No… it wasn’t daddy’s fault. This time.” Apollo smiled at this and Athena covered her mouth to stifle her laughter. “I was working on a new magic trick with Athena… and it sort of didn’t work.”
“And this is why we have a “no fire tricks in the agency”  policy,” Apollo hummed and passed a paper over to Klavier.
Simon and Klavier had offered to let them work in their offices, but they’d declined because they did actually need to get work done. In fact, Mr. Wright had only agreed to let them work here (instead of the library) if they agreed to get actual work done. Athena had immediately gotten defensive because “we always do our work” and Apollo just sighed. Mr. Wright did have a point, it seemed outside of court, they never got work done. So, they’d decided to work in the cafeteria away from distractions, Apollo’s idea. Then the distractions decided to join them, Klavier’s idea. However, it’d been about an hour and they’d been working fine.
They were sitting together around a table. Trucy was working on card tricks for the most part, and Apollo and Klavier were working on their case. While Simon was doing paperwork for his case that ended yesterday, and Athena was playing with her mood matrix. It was surprisingly quiet, didn’t they have more prosecutors? A few people had come in for coffee, but the office always seemed too quiet. Klavier and Simon were doing their work on laptops while Apollo had to do it all by hand. He really needed a laptop.
“I’m booorrred, let’s take a break!” Athena piped up.
“Cykes-dono, you haven’t done anything yet.”
“Sure I ha-”
“Playing with your mood matrix doesn’t count,” Apollo grumbled looking up. “And we haven’t even been here for an hour.” He looked up at the clock, “okay, we’ve been here for a little over an hour. But you still haven’t done anything.” He felt a weight drop on his back.
“Come on Polly! Fifteen minutes, I’ll even help you guys after.” Trucy had draped herself over his back and was whining in his ear.
“Well then Fraulein,” Klavier leaned his chin on his hand and looked at Trucy, “ What do you propose we do?”
---
“Chief prosecutor Edgeworth’s office, speaking? Yes?” Wright looked up at him. Edgeworth took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Is that so?” Wright felt a chill run down his spine as Edgeworth glared at him. “Yes, I’ll tell him. I’ll also come down myself. No, don’t tell them.”
“Sooo… What was that about?” Wright had a feeling he knew, but he’d give his kids the benefit of a doubt.
“Come with me.”
Edgeworth stood up and headed towards the door. Wright quickly shuffled his papers together and headed to the door, tripping on the coffee table. So much for the benefit of the doubt, hopefully Edgeworth would let them keep working here for now. Although he had a feeling he was pushing it. He had no problem working in the courthouse library, but the others had asked the prosecutors. So, he figured he might as well ask Edgeworth. They took the stairs down to the first floor where the cafeteria was. Instead of entering right away, Edgeworth stopped at the door.
Confused, Wright leaned into the door. At first he heard nothing, but he knew something had to be wrong because Edgeworth was glaring daggers at the door. Then he heard the faint sound of metal hitting metal. It was followed by cheers and “You can do it!”. He stood up straight and shrugged.
“Sounds like your guys not mine.” He turned to Edgeworth who leveled him with a glare.
“Think again,” he growled as he pushed the door open quietly.
Once they stepped inside, they were met with a cleared out space containing a fight. There was an audience as well made up of prosecutor Gavin, Trucy, Kay Faraday, and Godot who was off to the side watching and drinking coffee. They had their backs to the door and were instead watching Athena and Simon have a sword fight. Since when could Athena use a sword? Off at one of the other tables was Apollo trying to do work still, as always, and closer to the door was Sebastian Debeste. There were even some prosecutors Phoenix didn’t recognize poking their heads through the other door. They ducked out though as soon as they spotted the chief.
“Prosecutor Debeste,” Edgeworth spoke as he approached the other, “what is going on?”
“Ah!” Sebastian was startled and clamped his hand over his mouth, “Mr. Edgeworth! I uh… I’m not sure. This just didn’t seem very safe.” Edgeworth nodded and walked past him.
“It appears I was wrong to assume I didn’t need to make a rule against sword fights.” He stepped up to the group and everyone stopped. Wright swore he saw souls leave bodies once they noticed him.
“Hi Mr.Edgeworth!” Kay cheered, she clearly had no fear of Edgeworth.
At this Apollo looked up and took an ear plug out of his ear. Noticing Wright and Edgeworth he sighed.
“Told you,” he called over to the group, returning to his work. Everyone else, minus Kay who was smiling and Godot who was snickering, hung their heads in shame.
“I believe you all still have work to do. I hope I don’t need to respond to another call like this, if I do, there will be consequences.” He turned towards Godot, “I’d expect more of the oldest person in the room.”
“You expect better behavior from a convict then a bunch of lawyers? Geez how bad behaved are these kids?”
“He said oldest, nothing to do with whether you’re a convict or not,” Wright said from by the door. He hadn’t moved, mostly because he was still trying to figure out what he was supposed to do. As a boss and father he should scold them, he just wasn’t sure how.
They all stood in silence for a bit until Edgeworth turned and left. So he was leaving Wright to clean up? He could do that.
“Well, I’m going to look at my crime scene once more before tomorrow,” Apollo said, getting up.
“No you’re not,” Wright turned to him, “help put the tables back. Then Athena, Trucy, and you are coming to talk to me.” Then the arguing started.
“Why me?” Apollo asked.
“Well you didn’t exactly try to stop us, Polly.”
“Look at that, Trite grew a pair,” Godot started laughing and Wright frowned at him.
“Well what about the prosecutors? And Kay and Sebastian didn’t do anything to stop us!” Athena whined.
“Well I’m a thief! Not a lawyer.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“I don’t technically work here.”
“I’m sure we'll have to face herr Edgeworth later, or he’ll just give us a bunch of paperwork.”
“This is your fault for humoring Wright-chan.”
“You agreed to have a sword fight with the Fraulein!”
“Okay everyone stop! Just clean up, Edgeworth can deal with the prosecutors and Kay. And I’m pretty sure Sebastian was the one who told the receptionist. Now hurry up so we can apologize to Edgeworth.” There was a course of whining and someone muttered snitch. “If you really don’t want to apologize that’s fine,” Wright turned and headed to the door patting Sebastian on the shoulder, “I’m sure the courthouse library won’t mind us working there for the week.”
---
Edgeworth returned to his office before Wright as he’d left his partner to pick up the mess his children had made. Although he’d never call them that out loud, he did think of them as his children. Mostly because they kept causing him trouble. Taking a seat at his desk, he opened his laptop back up and checked the weather briefly. It was supposed to rain tomorrow, but nothing too bad. He could expect his sister and daughter back that evening. Turning Back to his work, he decided if Wright wasn’t back in half an hour he’d call to make sure he was actually picking up the mess.
We've been here so long... Still I remember the rainy September, Contact. Two, four, one, ten. Two four, one, ten. Am I transmitting? Is anyone listening? Contact.
He stopped typing and looked at his phone. She changed his ringtone for herself again, he sighed. She also knew better than to call him during work hours. Still, he picked up.
“Shouldn’t you be having dinner?” He smiled. “Oh? Couldn’t this have waited until tomorrow. I miss you too. Well try to get some sleep, you don’t want to be too tired. Are you at an airport, I thought you two were leaving later. No- don’t change the sub- Yes. I did notice, please stop changing my ringtone. Alright, I love you too. Goodbye.”
“Sky?”
Edgeworth jumped and looked up. Wright was standing in front of him with a smile on his face. So he’d managed to get everyone back to work had he?
“Yes. I’m assuming everyone went back to work?”
“Took some effort but once I said we’d have to work in the court house library if they didn’t stop, they cleaned up real quick. Your prosecutors didn’t want to incur anymore wrath so they weren’t too picky, except Godot… Why is he here again? Isn’t he still serving time.”
“Prosecutor Godot, much like prosecutor Blackquill, still has a job to do,” Edgeworth looked over at his laptop to see Wright settling back down. Wright shrugged at this. “And what’s wrong with the court house library?”
“They can’t play around as much,” Wright hummed, not looking up from his work.
“Well, let's hope the rest of this week isn’t anymore chaotic.” Really, he shouldn’t have said that.

It Is Time; the Phoenix Wright Rambling Begins
Bear with me on this one, this may take a while. ^ -^)'
So let's be fair about this; compared to other characters, Nick is a pretty simple character. Trials & Tribulations and Apollo Justice flesh him out a fair bit (both through betrayal and poisoning, oddly), but for the most part it's the characters around him that get the lions share of development.
Ace Attorney? It's about Edgeworth escaping his mentors shadow and the trauma of the DL-6 Incident. Both assistants, Maya and Ema, have more character spotlight than our resident himbo.
Justice for All? Similar deal with Franziska, minus DL-6.
T&T? He and Godot share a fair bit of spotlight, with both of them coping with Mia's death and Deliahs butt-holery, so that's fair.
Apollo Justice? He gets a lot to work with, including a daughter and homeless arc, albiet at the expense of Apollo to some degree.
Dual Destinies? It's mostly Athena and Simon remixing AA (and T&T to an extent) with some Apollo flair.
Spirit of Justice? All about Apollo receiving the torch from his mentor and using it to burn the monarchy, baby. Athena? Who that?
All the above characters tend to get more to do character-wise than Phoenix. By comparison he's a pretty standard bloke, especially in his own trilogy (and returns to a similar phase in the 3D games, for some reason). I already shared another post from @i-llbedammned who details why that could be appealing, but I had foreshadowed there that I had more feelings about this foolishly foolish fool made to fool me. That in mind, I propose to you this idea; Phoenix - as bland as he can be - is the heart and soul of the series and the exemplar of its core thesis. A sentiment that I personally gell with a fair bit. Allow me to exposit.
Riddle me this: Why is Phoenix Wright a defense attorney to begin with?
Think back to Case 1-4. Specifically the moment he explains as such to Maya. There, he recalls a moment in his childhood where he was accused of stealing money without any evidence against him. No one was on his side. Everyone demanded he pays for this crime. Even the teacher didn't believe he was innocent. It's a small thing, sure, but the isolation and inability to fight back against all the lies got to poor Phoenix. He was in tears over the whole thing until Edgeworth stod up for him, criticising everyone there for accusing an innocent party with no evidence (in the most Edgeworth way possible of course, bless that mess).
I know people cling to Edgeworth as being the reason he's an attorney - I get and enjoy that idea well enough - but I would like to propose that the isolation and weakness he felt in that moment was also a large factor in why he defends people for a living.
Because he's been there before.
He knows damn well what it's like to have no one behind your back. He knows, through defending Edgeworth, what it looks like to not even believe yourself to be innocent. He knows when no one has faith in your innocence, you may as well be guilty anyways (and I'm damn sure this made his 7 year slump in AJ all the more painful).
Perhaps that's why Mia's advice stuck with him for so long; to have faith in your clients no matter what. He holds to that tenet to this very day, even after a few clients proved themselves less than innocent in the process. He has to - who else would have faith in his clients otherwise, when it feels like the entire world is against them?
I think about Dual Destinies a lot. For the obvious reasons of course, but also for how I feel it ties back into the first game and this core message. Athena knows Simon isn't guilty, no one believes or even knows it but them and their colleagues. The world has decided that this innocent man ought to be put to death for a crime he didn't commit (which he only rolled along with to protect Athena, though not sure if he thought she was innocent at the time), yet Athena decides to stick to her guns and tries to pull him out of this mess (on top of dealing with her own issues and boy are there a lot of them). There's more to that plot and the themes of that game than just "AA 1 & 3 except BIGGERER" but this is hardly the time to double-down on my special interests.
In short, the main reason I enjoy Phoenix so much as a character (and the games as a whole) is that he embodies what an unfortunate number of people seem to be missing, both ingame and out; faith. It's rare to find someone with enough of the stuff who would defend you against the world till the bitter end. Someone who believes you are more than what you give yourself credit for and will fight tooth-and-nail to make sure you know you are too.
None of these characters would even be alive if not for this man, up to and including his childhood friends and at least one of his protégés. I myself owe a lot to those who believed I was better than I claim to be and were willing to help me deal with tough times (albiet not because I was accused of murder but that might be for the best, hahaha!). Unjust persecution - external or internal, legal or social - is a terrible thing to go through. Phoenix knows this better than most from his childhood and later his unjust disbarment and so works to ensure none of his clients have to face any of it alone, as he would have had to himself in the past if not for the help he had in those trying times (read; Edgeworth and Trucy).
I love this god damn idiot so, so much.

“Beach Day!” Trucy, Athena, and Kay cheered.
It was still rather early, so the beach was pretty empty. They had decided the only way to get decent spots on such a hot day was to get there as early as possible. While it had been on rather short notice, everyone from the WAA and prosecutor’s office had decided that a beach day was a great idea. Not that there was much else to do today, court proceedings came to a halt due to the heat. No one really wanted to be inside right now anyways.
“Trucy don’t forget your sunscreen!” Wright called before Trucy could get too far.
“Coming back!” She yelled, turning around.
Edgeworth handed her the sunscreen and she passed it between everyone. Meanwhile, Wright set up an umbrella and towels. Everyone was spread out, setting up on the beach by the boardwalk. The Edgeworths and Wrights were sharing one spot, and to their left, Athena was sharing a spot with Kay, Sebastian, Juniper, and Simon. To the right of them, Apollo, Ema, Nahyuta, and Klavier were set up together. Franziska had refused to be anywhere near the chaos and was set up further from the boardwalk then the rest of them, and Godot was not allowed out due to being a convict. Kay had also set up a small area for whenever Gumshoe and Maggie arrived.
Once Wright was sure his daughter was safe from the sun, he waved her off. She bolted towards the water with Athena who was dragging Juniper behind her. Klavier had gone out into the water with them soon after. Wright settled under his umbrella to keep an eye on them. Edgeworth sat beside him reading some really heavy book. He had jokingly said this was supposed to be a relaxing day and Edgeworth had just ignored him. Simon was hiding under his umbrella despite Athena’s efforts to coax him out earlier. Sebastian had tried to do the same but was pulled out to build sand castles with Kay. Apollo, Ema and Nahyuta were catching up on Khura’in. Sky had managed to drag her aunt towards the water to hunt for seashells.
“Daddy!” Trucy yelled from the water. “Come join us! It’s nice!”
“Ya Mr.Wright!”
“Maybe later, I’m enjoying the beach!”
“I don’t think hiding under an umbrella counts Phoenix,” Edgeworth mumbled, flipping a page.
“Papa’s right. If I could, I’d pick you up and drop you into the water, but I can’t. So instead I’m just going to push you until you get up,” Sky said, popping up behind him. As promised she started pushing on his back to try and move him.
“I’m not moving Sky,” he let out a small huff and smiled. Then the pressure left his back.
CRACK! He jumped. “Phoenix Wright. Go join your daughter.”
“Why did you bring your whip?” He exclaimed frantically, looking up at Franziska who was now running her Whip through her hand.
“That doesn’t matter, go swim,” she said.
“Fine. I’m going. I’m going,” he said, raising his hands in surrender.
“Yay!” Both girls exclaimed. Sky grabbed his arm, dragging him to the water.
“Why is Miles exempt from this?” He grumbled.
“Because papa can’t swim duh,” Sky said. “Now go.” She shoved him towards the water, then ran in herself.
---
“Well don’t they look like they’re having fun,” Apollo said, looking over towards the water. If he didn’t know any better, he might think everyone was trying to drown Mr.Wright.
Him, Nahyuta, and Ema had been talking about the Khura’inese legal system since they’d met up this morning. Mr. Wright had reminded him this was supposed to be a relaxing trip, and Athena and Trucy had threatened to bury him in the sand if he tried to talk about work all day.
“Are you sure? It appears young miss Wright and miss Edgeworth are try to drown Mr. Wright.”
“Ya, they're just playing. Honestly, I’m surprised they haven’t actually done him in yet,” Ema opened a bag of snackoos and offered some to the two boys, “I couldn’t imagine trying to raise Trucy, let alone both of those girls.”
Nahyuta looked at her quizzically, “Since when has Mr. Wright adopted miss Edgeworth?”
“Oh, he hasn’t. Yet,” Apollo said. “We have a bet going on for how long until mr Edgeworth and mr Wright get married.”
“And you’re participating, why?” Ema asked.
He gave her an incredulous look, “Have you seen their trials?”
“I have not. Did they discuss marriage during one of their trials? That does not seem very professional.”
“Please, I don’t think half of our cases can count as professional, but no. They just keep flirting… like, excessively.”
---
“Hey! Are we gonna do lunch?” Kay yelled from her spot on the beach.
It’d been a while and the beach had filled more. Klavier had gotten dragged off somewhere by his fans, so he wasn’t in their area anymore. Kay and Sebastian were still on the beach and had been joined by Juniper and Athena. The girls had buried Sebastian in the sand up to his neck after they’d tried to drag Simon out from under his umbrella. Trucy and Franziska were making a sandcastle by Wright and Edgeworth, while Sky was sharing obscure facts with Ema and telling Nahyuta about current trends. Apollo had left to find Klavier some time ago, and with how busy it had gotten, no one wanted to try and find him.
“Lunch sounds cool!” Ema piped up.
“Boardwalk food is the best!” Sky yelled, some people looked their way and Sky covered her mouth, slouching over.
“Seconded!” Trucy yelled, accidentally knocking part of her sandcastle.
“Thirded! Wait! That’s not a word,” Athena yelled. Everyone started laughing.
Everyone got up and split into groups. Franziska had no interest in the chaos of the boardwalk, so she decided to stay and watch their stuff. She’d moved closer to the group once people started arriving, not wanting to be rude. Athena, Juniper, Kay, and Sebastian went together with Simon to the far end of the boardwalk. Athena wanted to show Juniper and Sebastian a restaurant she liked at the far end, and Simon was going to make sure no one got lost. Kay was also a fan of a restaurant down that way, so she went with them. Sky and Trucy were going with Ema and Nahyuta to give their dads some time together. Gumshoe and Maggie hadn’t shown up yet, and when Kay had texted him, he’d said they were lost. Trucy made sure Apollo knew to grab lunch as well.
Apollo 5:03 A.M For the love ofgod It’s not even a work day This beach day better be worth it 12:33 P.M We’re going for lunch Grab lunch before coming back Did ya find your BF
---
“So, what do you two recommend from here?” Nahyuta asked.
“Hot/Corn Dogs!” Trucy and Sky cheered at the same time before glaring at each other.
“How about we get both, Prosecutor Sahdmadhi can pick which he wants,” Ema said before the two could start bickering. The girls shrugged.
“I should ask papa if we can play some boardwalk games later. Look!” She pointed to a ring toss game, “They have a giant plush racoon!”
“Don’t you already have a ton of plushies?” Trucy asked.
“Plushies are to me what magic is to you. Hey! Wanna hear a fun fact about racoons and buttholes?”
“I’m sorry what?” Ema asked, clearly taken aback.
“What fact could possibly involve those two things?” Nahuyta asked with genuine curiosity.
“Well, A racoon can fit in a hole up to four inchs wide, and your butthole can stretch up to seven inchs. So technically you can fit two racoons up your butt,” she turned to them and smiled innocently.
“I don-” Ema started, “I think I’ll have to look into that.”
“I am not entirely certain of the proper response to that.”
Trucy, who had been giggling, just shrugged. “Look there’s the corn dog stand!”
---
“What did I tell you?” Athena asked as they walked back to the beach. “Best lemonade on the boardwalk! And that sandwich place was pretty good Kay.”
“I know! Detective Gumshoe told me about it.”
“I hope he’s okay. I wonder if he’ll be able to find us,” Juniper hummed, before taking a bite of her sandwich.
“Miss Faraday!” Someone yelled from the crowd by the boardwalk entrance. They weren’t the only people who looked over either, quite a few people had.
Running towards them, was detective Gumshoe who was dragging Maggie behind him. She was trying to keep her sun hat on her head. They stopped just in front of the group, with Gumshoe catching Maggie before she fell over at the sudden stop.
“I’m glad I found ya Pal!”
“Gumshoe-dono,” Simon bowed slightly.
“Detective Gumshoe,” Sebastian nodded before taking a sip of his lemonade and scanning the crowd for anyone else they knew.
“Do you guys need to get food?” Juniper asked.
“No, it’s okay. We already ate,” Maggie smiled at them. “We just couldn’t find your beach set up.”
“Well!” Kay cheered, nearly knocking Athena’s lemonade out of her hand. Athena scowled at her. “Just follow us then!”
---
“-and that’s why Corn dogs are the best!” Trucy finished.
Her, Nahyuta, and Ema had finished their corn dogs on the way to get hot dogs, and she’d begun to explain why they were the best. Sky was quietly munching on her tornado potato listening to the other rant. Nahyuta seemed fully absorbed in her reasoning, and Ema  just found it amusing.
“Oh hey! It’s Mr. Gavin and Polly!” She pointed towards a table where sure enough, the two were seated. “I’m gonna go grab them!”
“Cool! I want my hot dog!” Sky cheered and turned towards the stand.
“And I’m going with you.”
---
“What does Franziska want?” Wright asked as he and Edgeworth stood in line for funnel cake. Wright had refused to leave until they got some.
“She brought her own food. She wanted nothing to do with the boardwalk,” Edgeworth hummed.
“Burgers!” They heard a familiar voice yell.
“But Mystic Maya, I thought this place had good ramen?”
“Nope! There aren’t any ramen stalls here… unfortunately.”
They turned around, and they had to stand on their toes to try and see Maya and who they assumed was pearl. Once they spotted them, Wright waved and called out to them. Edgeworth dropped down and covered his face with a groan. The line started moving so Edgeworth dragged him along.
“Let’s just grab our food and head back,” he grumbled.
---
Everyone eventually found their way back with their desserts and drinks. Almost everyone had stopped for dessert after finishing their food. Ema had introduced Nahyuta to beavertails, and Apollo and Klavier were splitting a beavertail between themselves. Maya and Pearl each had their own. Kay, Athena, and Juniper were sharing a funnel cake, as Sebastian occasionally picked pieces off. Edgeworth and Wright split their funnel cake, while their daughter snacked on their ice cream sundays. Everyone else had skipped out on desserts, except Franziska who was sipping on a milkshake. No one was certain where she’d gotten it since she refused to approach the boardwalk until it cleared out, and she wouldn’t tell them.
The rest of the day was filled with laughter, and worried parents because some people had been stubborn about sunscreen. The day ended with Minor sun burns for Simon (because he’s pale), Trucy And Sky (they missed a few spots with sunscreen), Kay (She refused to put more on), and Maya and Pearl (they hadn’t brought any at all, and the only reason the burns weren’t worse was because Wright had made them put some on once they joined up). It also ended with most people asleep on their feet. After they’d eaten, Wright and Maya had challenged Edgeworth and Gumshoe to a game of beach volleyball, and Trucy had taken it upon herself to try to teach Nahyuta the basics while Apollo and Klavier laughed at him. The others had split up between the water and the beach.
---
“I’ll give this one to you Wright,” Edgeworth grumbled as he drove the Wrights home.
“What do you mean?” Wright asked, turning to him. He’d been watching Trucy and Sky sleep in the back seat. Trucy’s head was resting on Sky’s.
“Today was… fun, to say the least.” He paused before continuing, “In fact, this week wasn’t the worst. It was a pleasant break.”
Wright reached over and took Edgeworth's hand, “I’m glad.”

Maybe you did see that scene, but are you sure it was a musical? There are a bunch of Ace Attorney stage plays (and most of them are on youtube).
I'm don't think any of them are musicals tho.
Anywho, I do recommend "turnabout gold medal". It's wacky, and the plot does in fact feel like a mass hallucination
I’m positive. It was a musical. And I’m sure there are musicals, I’m even fairly certain one of them is in English. But I’ll definitely look into it!
