It’s very late for me but I’m finally doing the same thing everyone else did and making a sappy little new year’s post because a) why not and b) I realized I actually do have things to say!

Here goes nothing.

I fell face first into Moon Knight when it came out in March-May. It was my first big fixation in over a year, and I was so excited to be passionate about something again. It got me back into writing fic after months and months away from doing it, and it pushed me to write outside of my comfort zone and create what honestly might be my best work to date.

I wish I’d spent a little more time with it before Stranger Things, but. Oh, Stranger Things.

I remember watching volume 2, debating for a good three weeks if I should write for yet another fandom, saying “screw it, I should do what makes me happy,” and hitting post on Black Velvet. Then I wrote Backer, and then putting out Eddie’s first time before I went out for dinner on my birthday.

I snuck off to the bathroom to read those early comments, in absolute awe that people were liking something I was so nervous to post.

And then I joined the Fruity Four Server, made more friends than I ever thought I would make, kept writing fic, and really haven’t looked back since.

2022 was a weird year in a good way. In a lot of ways, it was a year that signaled finality in my personal life; I graduated and became an adult. 2022 felt like an endpoint. It was the goal. And I didn’t really know what to do with myself beyond it.

But 2022 also saw me at my dream school. It saw me making and solidifying friendships. It saw me writing a novel’s worth of words. It saw me pushing the boundaries of what I thought I could write and finding solace in other people’s heads. It saw me writing gift fics and participating in events. It saw me trying out a long fic again. It saw me making friends and collaborating and finding a badass, close community online for the first time.

I started writing fic two years ago because I was lonely. If Ria from then could see Ria now, I don’t think she’d believe all the comments and kudos or the overwhelming amount of people who bother to read what she writes.

So, thanks to everyone who sees this. No, really, everyone! Whether you’re a follower or a mutual or someone who doesn’t follow me back, or if this is your first time seeing my url, thank you! You’ve made my 2022 absolutely incredible, and I hope I’ve had a fraction of that impact on you.

Here’s to continuing to kick ass and take names in 2023 (and please don’t feel bad if you aren’t tagged, I’m gonna be repeatedly editing this as I remember more people!!)

Surprise, I finished the MLP GURPS ficlet with another thousand or so words of absolutely saccharine fluff, and put it up on AO3!

Omg not like a real turkey baster it’s just want people call it when they do it at home, I saw the 2 moms on the fosters ask a friend for sperm and they did it at home too. Their friend gave them a cup and they did it together… I don’t think it would be too hard and it would still be intimate and fun creating a baby together in both the extraction and the insemination.

Idk when you really want a baby it stops seeming gross and is like a perfect other piece of your puzzle, I think they’d be able to do it, and I bet you any money before robin and Nancy even started dating their cycles probably synced up from how much time they spend together
