Okay but imagine Cregan Stark and Rhaenyra's daughter!reader. It's a arranged marriage completely for political reasons and strategies. Cregan is a man, not a boy like your brothers or your uncles. He is the warden of the North. Whereas you are inexperienced and only blossomed into a beautiful woman not long ago.

You always felt like you are a bargaining chip. First your mother tried to arrange a marriage between you and Aegon, then to a son of Vamond Velaryon, then to your own brother Jace. But at last it was decided that marrying you off to Cregan Stark is the best strategy. Because of all these you thought your marriage was just a duty to your queen, but Cregan was looking for a wife, a companion.

You thought maybe if it comes to it Cregan would also use you as a bargaining chip. You were so very wrong.

Imagine your wedding night. You are shy and scared. But Cregan is so gentle with you. Just you and him in the cozy room. He can tell you are inexperienced and he has a lot to show you, teach you. That night it was all about your pleasure. His fingers and tongue made you cum many times before he finally claimed you. Ok so i know you did wedding fashions for most of the regions of westeros already but what about the other ones like the north and the vale or the islands. Also the crownlands could be interesting because its a mishmash of westerlands/stormlands/reach/targs and also just plain opulence because royal weddings!!! (Lowkey asking about all these as reference for the multiple ocs rotating in my head at all times. Im a SUCKER for wedding scenes)

Northern brides in Kokoshniks are very serious business to me. I like to think they’re leftovers of a pre-heraldic time, when the north was more tribal and clan focused. Certain shapes of the headdress and the size signal what your status is, and the types of jewels inlaid in them and embroidery done is indicative of what part of the north a woman hails from. This heralding of what family you came from carried over into the modern era, becoming more elaborate and taking on different shapes as noble houses began to appear and shaped their own identities separate from that of their original clan. Loose, heavy, long sleeved gowns are traditional bridal wear as well, from a time where a woman might be married in winter, and it became an old wives tale that a northern woman who marries without the traditional garments will freeze to death before the wedding.

Marriage is when a girl becomes a woman, so in my mind in the Vale, a brides wedding day is when she starts to cover her hair. Bc covering your hair from the winds of the Vale is for noble wives who have duties to attend to and no time to fuss over trivial things. Letting your hair down and be tangled and caught is for silly little girls who don’t have any responsibilities. Essentially a rite of passage. I also think that a leftover from when the Vale was only made up of mountain clans is the gifting of a fur to the bride that the groom hunted himself. It used to mean that the man could provide for his new wife but now it’s an old tradition where a man may or may not hunt the animal himself. And it’s another tradition for the woman to use the fur in her bridal gown and for a swaddle for her future children

Marriage for an iron islander woman is particularly important because it’s one of the few instances where she can wear bright colors and pretty things without being ridiculed. She’ll wear her house colors instead of her husbands bc her fathers pride comes first ofc. A bride and her female relatives will probably make their jewelry for the wedding, protecting the bride with prayers to the drowned god carved into beads and bracelets. And any metal she might wear comes from her fathers stash, anything he paid the iron price for and wants to show off on his daughter. It’s part of her dowry too, so for a man to give away a particularly flashy piece of loot is considered very rich behavior

And ofc Kings Landing is a conglomerate of basically everything. Obviously westerlands style is currently the most popular and influential, but there are still fashions from all over the seven kingdoms and beyond being incorporated into weddings. What a woman wears all depends on her age, her homeland, whether or not she adheres to traditions, how modest she is, how rich she is, etc etc etc you get the gist. But rest assured it’s usually going to be over the top

I find it so funny when people call Jon Snow a bastard as an insult as if the show and book shows that you shouldn’t discriminate people based on their birth. I’m looking at you, targ stans. Like he might be a bastard, but he is a better man than most of the true born Targaryens.

That's the thing, Jon being a bastard isn't just about the secret of his birth. It's all about Jon starting the story as an outcast, and finally finding a place in the world amongst other outcasts and unique people. His early friendly kinship with Tyrion, finding a genuine brother in Sam, befriending people like Grenn, Pyp, Tormund. And how by not looking down on them the way the world does him, he grows into a leader. One of the only leaders who can handle the threat to come.

Jons story isn't about getting passed being a bastard or becoming trueborn named anything. Its about Jon realizing that he became the man he is, while being a bastard. That despite everyone trying to put him down for it, he still pushed passed and rose up. It's about Jon learning being a bastard isn't good or bad, it's simply about the man he strives to become.

Also Targ stans the way they talk about Jon Snow is..odd. They seem to only like him if he can be molded into a Targaryean and nothing else. But he is everything they aren't. They are obsessed with blood purity and blood superiority, ruling through cruelty and fear, obessed with prophecy and status. Jon doesn't care about any of those things.

Also, the Targaryeans are obsessed with their blood purity so much it's led to the rampant, destructive levels of incest which almost caused their house to go extinct. When Rhaenyra very obviously had bastards, instead of fighting for her bastard childrens rights, she got violent and cruel at the insinuation of the truth being told to the point she wanted to torture her young half brother for simply repeating something his mother told him.

Even her kids must know their own mother looks down on them for being bastards, because if she wasn't, she wouldn't be trying to pass them off as trueborn. Jon did not need to be a Stark for Ned to love him and include him as much as he could within the family home. Ned literally raised Jon to be the Kevan to Robbs Tywin. Ned wanted Jon to be Robbs right hand man, his closest advisor. And he never needed Jon to be a Stark to start teaching and preparing him for that.

The Targaryeans don't respect bastards so much it's literally what caused the Blackfyre rebellions. Their stans just don't seem to grasp that all of this shows it is bad to judge someone for being a bastard.

They only care about Jon if he will call himself a Targaryean and be just like Rhaegar. But they miss the point. He only has one name and it's Jon Snow.

Because that is what his father named him, and he never had to become a Stark to grow into the man he is and could become.

But Targ stans don't quite seem to care about the conversation of bastards outside of the very specific times said bastards are directly involved in house Targaryean like in the Dance or the Blackfyres. Otherwise, they flip flop on the matter with Jon because they don't really care about him unless he resigns himself to being a true Targaryean.

Which is SILLY.

Despite being Rhaenyra's sister, you grew up with her sons instead, being the last daughter of King Viserys and his late wife the queen Aemma, You were closer to your sister's side of family than Alicent's, though you carry tender feelings for her children regardless.

The closeness of you and the Velaryon boys were cut short as they move to Dragonstone, leaving you with your stepfamily for 6 years.

Though today you will be reunited with them, you were excited to meet your sister, the last time you both met, it wasn't exactly the most peaceful of event, with the funeral of your cousin Laena, and the unfortunate incident between the Velaryon boys and Alicent's son Aemond who had his eye taken by Lucerys.

Hopefully now that everyone's grown, the circumstances will be less troubling.

You were the first to greet your sister and your uncle Daemon, with your stepmother busy still. "What in gods name has this place transformed to?" Daemon asks frowning at the deco of the palace.

You smile amused at his greeting. "I miss you too uncle, and I think you already have the answer to your question." You embrace the two of them in a warm manner and your sister squeezed your hand before asking of the queen and king.

"Alicent is busy at the moment, and I reckon you both can already guess that father's illness has only gotten worse since last you saw him, he can barely leave bed now." You statement has birth new worries to your sister as her face seem to show.

"Take us to him." the prince requests and you gladly obliged, leading them and their young children to your father's chambers.

"Jacaerys and Lucerys wastes no time to go tour the palace, they're probably somewhere in the courtyard if you wish to greet them." Rhaenyra tells you this, as she knows how fond you are of your nephews.

You smile brightly at her. "Then I will go see them, if you are fine being left alone, that is?" She offers you a smile and shakes her head. "Of course, you go ahead my dear".

With her permission you merrily made your way to meet your nephews.

You spotted the two boys in the house velaryon coloured cloaks watching Aemond's training with Ser Criston and went to stand next to them.

"Amazing fighter, isn't he?" You spoke, startling the two.

Jace's suprised expression turned into a pleased one as you three took a few steps back to greet eachother.

"[name]! I didn't even recognize you" It was Lucerys' who spoke first and you took him in your arms in a bear hug, then doing the same with Jacaerys, who's arms held you tighter compared to his brother's.

"Me? I wouldn't even know it was the two of you if it weren't for your cloaks!" The lot of you chuckled at that knowing it's true, you all have changed very much this past 6 years.

"Say, I don't think we've gotten our welcome tour of this place from you princess, bit disrespectful to neglect your guests isn't it?" You hear the teasing in Jacaerys tone and through his silly boyish grin that you return easily.

"A tour doesn't seem necessary, as I'm seeing you both remember your way here quite well, but if you insist, I wouldn't deny you at all."

He raises his eyebrows and waves his hand for you to lead the way: "Well then, let's get started."

You giggled and link your arms with him, walking out the courtyard together, resuming in your jests and catching up, completely ignoring Lucerys trying to follow up the both of you, annoyed at being ignored.

The tour was an obvious excuse for the two of you to shamelessly converse with eachother without starting rumours or gossips, though by the way the two of you have been leaning by the library door laughing and chatting with eachother instead of any touring, it seems that people would easily see through you anyways.

Lucerys tried his best to include himself into the conversation, though his brother was consistent to change the topic back to him, he fastly got the message and excuse himself to explore the library books.

"You know, I was scared you wouldn't care much about us coming back, it has been a long time since we met, I wasn't sure if you'd actually miss us me."

Your eyes soften at his words and you inch closer before taking his hand into yours and squeezing it. "Well, the letters I've been sending you this past years should be proof enough that I do miss you, isn't it?," You ask smiling at him.

A light blush appears at his cheeks and he laughs nervously nodding. "Yeah- I am sorry I don't respond as much though, I'm always occupied in dragonstone, but you're always in my mind if not my letters."

His respond warmed your heart, it wasn't a secret to anyone who paid attention that you were fond of the older Velaryon, He's always been kind and caring with you since you were children, always making sure you felt Included and ready to defend you at any glimpse of danger or disrespect. And sometimes, you could swear he looks at you like he might loves you too.

You found yourself intensely staring in his eyes, unable to forms any words and just smiling at him, hands still holding eachother's.

The tension was cut by Luc's footstep as you both pull your hands away and look towards the boy.

"It's quite late I've noticed, Uncle Vaemond has arrived which means the petition will start any minute now, we should go settle ourselves first Jace." He suggests smartly.

Your eyes widen as you remember why they're here. "Oh my, you're right, I've been taking so much of your time, come on, I'll show you to your chambers."

They both assured you no time was wasted and thanked you for the welcome before entering their rooms for a change of clothes.

The petition was... quite an event, if you say so yourself. Both parties present a truthful and valid argument, not that it mattered as the topic of heir of driftmark was quickly pointed back to Lord Corlys' own wishes by your father, who made a sudden appearance, taking over the discussion from Otto.

What was more unexpected than your father limping to the throne to defend his grandson, was Vaemond's shameless accusation of Jace and Luc's illegitimacy, and calling your sister a whore on top of that.

It wasn't a surprise when the prince consort Daemon slashed through his head for that insult, knowing how much he loves to solve a problem as fast as he can. The sight of Vaemond's tongue sticking out of his decapitated head though, was not pleasant.

You were quickly ushered out with your stepsiblings by Alicent as the your father was helped back to his chambers, attacked by his illness at a sudden.

As you leave the throne room to walk to your room, you were met instead with Jace, waiting outside for you.

"I-um, I thought I'd walk you back, to your chambers?" he states, sounding more like a question.

You smile gratefully at his kind gesture and take his arm to link them with yours and thank him for his offer.

"Oh don't thank me, I just enjoy your company, really." If it were anyone else, you'd assume he was flirting with you.

But regardless of your delusion, you accept the tease and shoves him playfully.

"Oh do you now?"

"Mmhm." His smile was contagious and you don't think you can stop yourself from giggling like a 5 year old at everything he says.

As you finally reach your room, you take a deep breath, trying to hide your disappointment of having to part with him, even for a while.

"Well, you've come a long way today, I'm sure you're tired, rest well won't you?" You spoke squeezing his shoulder.

He smiles softly while nodding before bidding you good evening and walking back to his chambers, you notice how his smiles doesn't leave him as he leaves.

It's been a while since you've had a family dinner to be honest, but by the request of you father, here was all of you seated together.

You were placed I'm between Aegon and Aemond who was sitting at the edge.

What started off an awkward night, slowly absolved into a festive dinner as everyone tried their best to get along, to please the king.

You found yourself laughing at Aemond's quiet sarcastic jokes about Vaemond's beheading, trying not to find the traumatizing memory hilarious, but the both of you couldn't stop your amusement thinking of your stepmother's mention of him in her prayer.

The joking was cut off by Jacaerys ' sudden slamming of the table as he stands up, startling everyone.

silence spread through the room and you look at him worriedly.

As he waves a hand at his parents to not worry them, his eyes moves from the table to your face, taking in your frowning confused expression.

"Um- I, would uh, also like to give a toast" He clears his throat and states with an awkward smile.

"To, my uncle's, Prince Aegon and Prince Aemond, though we aren't so close now, I have fond memories of our shared youth, and as men, I hope we could get along."

Aegon purses his lips and answered with a "uh to you too" as Aemond just stares at him with an undecipherable look.

You notice how Jace's own eyes was connected to his too, the both of them having some sort of staring contest.

It seems Jace lost it first (despite Aemond having a one eye disadvantage) as he blinks and looks at you seated next to Aemond.

You saw his gaze softening and his smiles widens as he raise his cup again; "And to my lovely aunt, princess [aunt], you have always been a kind friend and a great company, I hope we'll have more time to spend with eachother."

You nod at him with a smile. "Thank you Jacaerys, for your generous words, I shall hope for the same."

Seemingly satisfied with his speech he sits back down and your sister Rhaenyra release a slow relieved sigh. You could understand why, for a second there, Jace's sudden gesture made you think a fight was about to ensue too, though you were grateful he remained mature as he is.

Viserys' had requested music to be put on and you were caught off guard with Jacaerys standing up and offering a dance to you, you accepted nonetheless.

It was honestly a dream how much of his attention you've had a hold of this whole day, you wished it could be like this all the time, gods only knows the effect he has on you and your heart when he does these little things that makes your heart beats quicker and paint your cheeks a faint pink.

You both try your best to stifle smiles and giggliness as he spins you around, keeping you close.

The music stops when Aemond suddenly dose from his own seat. The sudden loud creak of his chair making you flinch and halt your movements.

The both of you stopped your dancing to glance at him.

Aemond gives you a reassuring smile before smirking at Jace and then Lucerys, who was seated on the opposite of him. "A final tribute."

"To my nephews, Jace, Luc, and Joffrey." He starts calmly.

"May you always remain handsome, wise-,"

Deep breaths and sighs was heard around the room as you finally realize what was going on.

Your breath hitches as he finishes the line. "-strong."

Immediately, Jace interjects, contained anger detected in his tone; "I dare you to say that again."

"Why? t'was only a compliment. Do you not think yourself strong? What about you sister?" His eye shot towards yours that were practically begging him to stop.

"- I'm sure you'll agree he is quite a strong-"

He didn't get to finish the sentence as Jacaerys' fist connects with his face.

Instantly, Aemond retaliates, shoving him to the floor.

You curse out loud rushing to help Jace and you could feel him struggle againts you, wanting to attack Aemond again as you force him up and pulled him away from your stepbrother.

Thankfully, the fights ceased as Daemon involves himself in the middle of the two and your sister demands her children to leave to their rooms.

Jacaerys shrugs you off almost too roughly and leaves without looking back with his brother and cousins and you feel your heart crack at the little but hurtful gesture of it.

When your gaze connects with Aemond's, you scoff at his audacity to look unbothered with his stupid smirk and shook your head, you can't stand to look at him so arrogant right now and left the dining room too.

Quickly, you walk yourself to Jacaerys' chambers and took a sighed tiredly before you knock on the door.

"I don't need your comfort or whatever Luc, leave" his distorted voice was heard from outsiders.

"it's not Luc, it's me, [name]" You tell him, feeling a bit stupid for stating your name as if he wouldn't recognize your voice.

It was quiet for a few seconds before the door opens slightly, revealing the owner of the room.

He has seemed to calmed down from earlier chaos as he looks at you more kindly than he did anyone a few minutes ago.

"[name]." he breathes out.

"Apologies, I thought you were my brother, do you need anything?" You shook your head.

"No, I came here to make sure you're alright, may I come in?" He blinks before nodding slowly and standing to the side to let you enter.

You walk straight to sit by the edge of his bed and he moves to place himself next to you.

"I'm sorry about my brother, I would have thought that after 6 years, he'd give up his immature need to try and humiliate your family, but I guess I was wrong."

He frowns and shakes his head before raising his hand to cup your face. "Why would you apologize for his disrespectful manners?"

"Well, he is my brother, and he definitely won't be doing any apologizing."

The both of you let a short chuckle before the tension slips back in between you.

"Mm, maybe, but you are not responsible for his behavior, he is what he chooses to be, and that's beyond your control, so never apologize for his behalf."

You could only nod obligingly with the way he's intensely staring at you eye.

Before you can get any word out, he beats you to it first. "Do you love him?"

The question took you by suprise and you furrow your eyebrows and gives him a short "heh?"

"I- I saw how familiar you are with eachother tonight, and I know you both grew up together, but you must be blind to not see how he looked at you. Everyone could tell that his stupid toast was made out of jealousy because you danced with me."

All this new information and theories made your head swirl, You love Aemond as he is your brother, and never once did it occur to you his affections might be more than a sibling like one.

You looked at him dazed and confused, not knowing how to react with the randomess of the conversation.

"I- I admit, I've never seen him more than a family, and I have never noticed that there was such possibility that he did." You confess to him, avoiding his eyes, feeling a little embarrassed with his assessment.

"And have you noticed my feelings for you?" Your head snaps to look at him and your shocked face answers his question.

You open your mouth but no words leave you as you were still struck by his forwardness.

No words was needed though, as he closes the gap between you two wish his lips warm against yours.

You sigh againts the kiss as his hands cradles your face as yours wrap around his neck.

He pulls you to sit on his lap and when one arm moves around your waist to pull you closer and you gasped when he bites your lip, giving him an entrance to slide his tongue in.

He groans as your tongue meets, gripping your waist and angling his head better.

After what felt like hours of wet salivas mixing and your hands grasping and pawing at eachother, you were the first to pull away needing to catch your breath.

He leans his forehead againts yours as your hot breaths fans eachother.

A slow smile spread on your face and he beams at you like a child towards a rising sun. His thumb moving to rub your bottom lipz the feel of his skin againts yours making your eyes flutter.

You open your eyes to him staring a you with such gentleness you couldn't help but kiss him again, easily reciprocated by him, licking and sucking your bottom lip.

He sighs againts your lips when you pause.

"It feels like you are made for me sometimes" He murmurs againts your lip.

You let out a low breathy chuckle pulling away lightly. "Oh I believe I am made just for you, my prince."

i think there’s a really easy workaround for dany’s infertility and it’s that she should just do what i did in my silly female line post and pick the houses that have a female line claim and reach out to them. i think it shows very clearly that she’s not thinking about the good of westeros but only of her claim to westeros because while she thinks frequently of her infertility she doesn’t ever think about what the hell happens because of it.

and i hate the “dany’s infertility is a metaphor for her not thinking of the future” bc it’s ableist as all hell but it’s exactly the sort of thing that would appeal to george and i think it’s correct (same way the “bran the broken” nonsense is ableist but unfortunately correct foreshadowing). she could easily work around it by naming an heir through the female targ line!

a) it gets her allies in westeros and for all that she’s constantly thinking about going home she doesn’t try to reach out to any of the lords at all. her whole focus is on an army, not on making connections.

b) it might make her female line claim more palatable to the lords, if she can get a few on her side bc they have a similar (albeit way more distant) female line claim as well that might get their house on the iron throne

c) she can also make the argument that robert is doing the exact same shit bc the maesters used his grandmother rhaella targaryen’s marriage to ormund baratheon as proof of why he gets the iron throne. if he can claim female line inheritance, surely she can get fancy with it as well?

but none of this ever occurs to her. she doesn’t even show an interest in learning about westeros once she has power. when she meets barristan she doesn’t wonder at all about why he’s hesitant to talk of her family. she doesn’t ask jorah for more information on why aerys & rhaegar were overthrown. she knows viserys was delusional yet doesn’t ever attempt to unlearn anything he taught her. the smallfolk praying for viserys’ return is silly but for her it makes sense because she’s the mother of dragons - except the last time dragons existed in Westeros the smallfolk slaughtered them because they were constantly used to subjugate and terrorize people! why would they want her dragons back? why would they see her any differently than meleys blackfyre, a foreign invader with a foreign army threatening to upend their way of life?? her thoughts of westeros center on finding the red door and the lemon tree. it’s all about what westeros can do for her, that westeros can love her and give her a home, but she never thinks about how to make them love her! she just assumes it’s a given and it’s why i think she’s going to fail.

dance era targs (roughly) oldest to youngest

rhaenys. tanned/olive skintone. takes more after jocelyn than aemon, but got aemons pale lilac eye color. not buff, but toned, swimmers build almost. when i read f&b for a sec i misinterpreted rhaenys “hair streaked with white” line as not referencing her age, but as poliosis.

and i think thats a really cool look for her so im keeping it :) if i can get a little anime with it, its reversed in laena and laenor. silver hair with black streaks.

daemon . more silver than gold. pale skin. pale purple eyes. looks just alyssa, big ears, crooked gap-tooth smile. but didnt get her curly hair or freckles. strong but also not built, lithe. for Some Reason having facial hair makes daemon want to die 🤔 so hes obsessive about staying clean shaven no matter where he is. notible then, that while he was hanging around harrenhal waiting for aemond to show up he hadnt shaved in weeks.

rhaenyra . takes more after viserys than aemma, but cooler coloring than him. silver>gold. rich purple eyes. wavy/curly hair. she also got alyssas silly ears and smile through viserys, as well as his sense of fashion. dresses in dramatized valyrian style, not at all historically accurate but looks sick as fuck. canon traits: fat, big nose, long braid, lots of jewelry.

aegon ii and helaena both take more after viserys, aemond and daeron after alicent.

aegon ii . flushed, bloated, alcoholic face. yall know that bit in the beginning of disco elysium when harry stumbles into the bathroom and starts groping his face talking about how much it sucks and how badly it hurts? aegon2s daily morning routine. sallow skin. gold>silver. tries to grow a mustache to look like viserys but he managed to dodge both viserys and ottos facial hair genes, ends up with a little pencil stache. canon trait?: fat

daeron . i know the book says daeron had the valyrian look but i like thinking that he DIDNT. and thats why he got sent away to military school oldtown. hes kinda fucking with the greens whole “rhaenyra is a SLUT just LOOK at her children its obvious :/“ ive been picturing him with brown hair (from alicent) and purple eyes, but i saw this one fanart where he had the silver hair but green eyes and that looked really cool too. tan skin, freckles. shorter, but strong. curly hair.

baela and rhaena are fraternal twins, not identical. (baela wishes they were identical) they take more after laena than daemon. im kinda thinking about having one of them inherit laenas reverse poliosis, but im not such which. i do think it should be only one of them though.

baela . black/mixed. stockier build. i like the idea of her having short box braids, with the beaded ends. or short twists, especially in this half up style. feels very baela. likes to wear pants+dress like a man. light green/mint jewelry for moondancer, but otherwise doesnt really like to dress up. crooked smile.

rhaena . black/mixed. long goddess/butterfly locs. hair usually done up. always a bunch of jewelry and accessories in her hair. soft flowing fabrics, pastel colors. pink for mo(u)rning, maybe she also wears green for moondancer. lots of jewelry.

jacaerys . out of all of rhaenyras children, including aegon3 and vis2, jace is the one that looks the most like her. little brown haired boy version of nyra. has the valyrian nose if not the colors. wavy hair, not as curly as luke+joffs. darker skin. tall but bad posture so he looks shorter than he is. purpleish brown eye color. able to gain the most muscle.

aegon iii . very skinny. pale, sallow skin, deep set eyes, dark eye bags. straight, lank, hair. cutting scars on his chest. silver>gold but barely even silver, more white. also got alyssas gap toothed smile, but he never smiles so you wouldnt know it. essentially looks like a living ghost. canon traits?: purple eyes so dark they look black.

viserys ii . gold>silver. tan skin. freckles? curly hair. chubby and shorter.

I support TGC (Aegon’s actor) and his work, my pfp is from an interview of him and he wasn’t ‘on character’.

I can like a character because he’s deep and has an interesting story without supporting what he represents.

He isn’t by far the worst Targaryen. Aegon I, Visenya, Rhaenys, Maegor, Daemon, Aegon IV and even Aemond are worse than him. He is a grey character who liked to drink and visit brothels. That’s literally every guy in Westeros. The rest is him fighting for his family and rumors of a perverted fool (literally).

My dislike of Targaryens is rooted in the colonizer, blood supremacist, supporter of slavery, racist hypocrisy and absolutist ideology they practice. I especially dislike Targaryens that buy into that ideology. Aegon is half Valyrian and his claim is based on Andal succession, not Valyrian supremacy in any way.

I also like him because I like House Hightower and Alicent. He’s the first ‘half blooded’ Targaryen king. He shows dislike for Targ traditions (like incest) and does things out of duty instead of entitlement.

I too roast tf out of Aegon when it’s appropriate :)🫶🏻 I am a stan not an apologist. He just happens to have more likable than dislikable traits in my eyes.

His existence sparked the Dance, the conflict that killed dragons and doomed the Targaryen dynasty. Very Targaryenphobic of him if you ask me.

If my OC was canon how would the fandom treat them? - For Abrogail Strong

You saw how fandom treated sansa stark, right? This is literally gonna be Recycled Sansa Discourse.

Okay kudos to @selfproclaimedunicorn, @acrossthesestars, and @songsonacliffside for their input on this!

Abby would absolutely be a divisive character in a fandom that's fighting over modern feminism, how to be a woman, morals, and other things that just get way too personal and out of hand. I can imagine the thought pieces we used to see on like 'Why is Abrogail Strong an outtdated female protagonist' or 'Why Abrogail Strong is Important' declarative things - because nothing gets people going harder than 'is this a feminist model'.

So while I absolutely, 100% understand why Abby isn't for everyone, there would be some seriously frustrating and gross takes about her. We know how George likes to recycle his archetypes, and so number one, those who hated Sansa, especially early seasons!Sansa, would pull that out.

Abby would be seen as covering for Aegon, being blind to his faults and a terrible enabler who doesn't care for any of the women in Aegon's crossfire. They'd take any sense of comfort that Abby gives Aegon to make it sound like she's victim blaming. That's not even mentioning calling her Alicent 2.0, and how Aegon's only into her because of his mommy issues and if he can't please his mother, he can please her and uwu someone rescue poor Aegon.

There's a set of Targ Stans that get into how Aegon should have married Helaena instead, and how her and Aegon don't actually love each other, Aegon just likes her pretty.

A real anon I got was in regards to Abby not being a Real Strong, and being a traitor and a whore for just wanting to fuck a rapist (Aegon). They would call her manipulative and grasping, and outsider who used her proximity to the prince to use her magical feminine hypnosis powers to get him to marry her so she could become queen, because she had no chance of doing that if she went with Rhaenyra because she can't marry Jace (but then you'll see the AUs where Rhaenyra leans in hard and marries Jace and Abby for the cover story). On top of that, she totally knew Larys was murdering their father and Harwin, so she gets the 'murders family for a cornchip for a chance to become queen'. NOT to mention, she must never have loved Harwin or honored his memory if she's not leaving to Dragonstone with Rhaenyra to serve her.

Other discourse would also involve her not plotting Larys' murder for killing their family and why isn't she so incapacited with grief. Harwin deserves a better sister! Lyonel Strong would be rolling in his grave at his daughter destablizing the realm!

Book readers would point out that Abby was absolutely a broken mess and grief stricken and much like Daemon's grieving scenes with his daughters, was cut from the show.

Then we have the classics: She's too perfect and too sweet. She's too immature or too mature. She's naive, she's silly. Disney princesses don't belong in Westeros. She's a punching bag and therefore Attention Whore or she is protected by the writers because she's fucking someone in charge. She's not playing the game and that's Unrealistic vs She's totally playing the game and absolutely planned to marry Aegon and become queen when she was 5 years old. Her denial of even seeking the throne is seen as fake and 'didn't you see how her eyes shifted away?'

And then there's a particularly cruel subset who I would imagine would want Abby to um, suffer in very particular ways so she can get what's coming to her, for being naive of the game, or being too part of the game.

And then if you're on the right side of loving Abby, well, you're in the trenches. For every post of taking down Abby and explaining why she's terrible and clearly the co-mastermind behind the dance, you'll have posts breaking down why she's important to have. That women are allowed to be soft and don't have to carry a sword or yell at people and 'Not Be Like Other Girls'. Most of the time you're defending her from antis, and other times you're breaking down the subtle way her grief and trauma have shaped the person she is.

I see general audiences really appreciating who Abby is in terms of being a sunbeam in a bleak story. I'm a fan of p'reviewed on youtube, and Jay said at the end of an episode once how watching HotD doesn't leave him feeling 'good' after an episode. and so I can see Abby absolutely being someone audiences appreciate for some hope and relief. People who like Abby are absolutely 'protect this girl at all costs' and definitely a 'Aegon doesn't deserve her why does she put up with this guy, have her hook up with someone else!' but then you get the soft moments between Aegon and Abby and everyone is like 'OH MY GOD WHY ARE THEY SO CUTE LET THEM BE HAPPY' and something something 'their love was made for a softer time'

Like my lovely commenters on Maiden, I totally see the Abby x Aegon shippers to be a wonderfully feral bunch who like to make a lot of comparison posts. They'd dig into old stories of the influences of the ship, as well as tirelessly defending it.

Other than that, I think there's a lot of arguments over book fans over the show adaptation of her as most of the stuff we get upset about. I imagine there's Aemond x Abby ships out there, and there's a lot of projection onto her as a character so people fight over canon vs fanon interpretations. She's definitely a type I think a lot of people struggle to find a voice for. I can see a lot of fix-it fics attempting to make Abby very badass.

I'm not even a Jon fan in particular, but as a Sansa and Dorne stan, Kit making twitter Targ stans lose what little was left of their pea-sized minds has been most pleasing to me. They really shouldn't have talked all that shit and karma is just coming back to bite as it always does with that fandom. I hope the Snow announcement comes soon and I hope we at least get a Sansa cameo in the show. However, if Kit is going to have his man pain over killing a genocidal tyrant be a main point in the show he can keep it lmao.

(Context: “Targ nation” was tweeting out revenge porn of Kit and making fun of his addiction and saying all sorts of horrible things about him and his wife after he recently defended Jon killing Dany. He used a lot of mitigating language, said he wished the characters had more time together, talked about how close his wife and Emilia are, but they were incensed.)

I try not to care too much about interviews because actors contradict themselves all the time. Kit said post s8 that supporting Dany made you “complicit” which means it’s possible he thinks that Jon was complicit too, that he might deal with that in the sequel, and that his show won’t glamorize Dany. So, I can simply take everything he says in interviews in the lead-up to his show as him trying not to estrange fans. Maybe Dany stans should be happy he still thinks they’re a gettable audience or he might be saying worse? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I mentioned the other day that I would enjoy a chance for Jon to deal with his trauma from dying, finding out about his parents, the wars he was involved in…I mean, there is a lot of stuff I would love for them to dig into which GoT totally neglected, but, grieving for a mass murderer is definitely not something I’m up for. Obviously, we don’t know for sure that’s where he’d take things, but there were quotes that seemed to point there. Or at least, that he thinks there’s still some question about the ethics of killing Dany. He said Ned wouldn’t approve since he didn’t approve of Jaime killing Aerys, but that ignores one tiny little detail. Ned didn’t know what Aerys wanted to do to KL, but Dany had already burned KL when Jon killed her. That kinda removes any moral ambiguity?

Furthermore, whatever code of honor Ned espoused and wanted to live by, he committed treason, betrayed his best friend and king, to protect an innocent life—Jon’s. To act like he would disapprove of Jon taking action to save thousands upon thousands of children, to save Winterfell, Ned’s daughters, to save Sansa, well, that’s just silly. I’m not saying he wouldn’t feel shame, Jon carries a lot of shame, but we can feel bad about having to take certain actions even if it is unequivocally the right thing to do. Not every choice is easy, and that’s certainly something Martin loves to explore. That could have been what Kit was trying to get at, who knows.

Anyway, I’m not sure which moral paradigm the sequel will be written from, and I’m not really looking forward to finding out 😂

INTRODUCTION~RULES

Hello! Welcome to my A song of ice and fire save file! My name’s M and I also have art acc (@FaePorcelain)! In October of 2022 I decided to begin recreating ASOIAF on the sims as a silly little pass time, but ended up really diving into the game and am now dedicated to this save file. This page will be dedicated to sharing what cc I use, my sims and how the story is going :)

I decided very early on that I will be following the books, so the characters appearances and personalities, plots and buildings will not appear as they do in GOT/HOTD. I will also be following a few theories that I personally enjoy, but that I don’t necessarily believe are canon; For example, Alicent Hightower will be the secret daughter of Saera Targaryen.

I’m currently playing with 12 families/houses: Targaryen, Baratheon, Velaryon, Tyrell, Hightower, Stark, Tully, Lannister, Bolton, Martell, Arryn and Tarth. I will also be adding house Greyjoy pretty soon. House Tully, Bolton and Tarth are significantly less important then the others and we’re added just recently. I use the app Quick Family Trees to document the families and also have a file of screenshots of each character. House Targ, Baratheon and Velaryon intertwine since the beginning and keep on intertwining, so they share a single huge tree. Using house Tyrell to show how the trees look :)

Targcest, character gaps, and CAS rules

The only perfectly documented family tree in ASOIAF is the Targ family tree, so every single other house has HUGE gaps, so I fill them in with characters I create myself (House Martell is currently 80% my creation ;;). One thing to be careful about is the fact that different branches of certain houses only become important later on; For example, during the Dance, there’s a succession crisis in house Arryn, and two branches of house Arryn are mentioned, so even tho they’re currently quite useless to the plot, I’m aware that soon they will take over the main branch.

When a character is mention to have had “many sons/siblings” that end up being irrelevant for the plot, I will add AT MOST 3 sims, for the sake of my poor pc🥲. Ok, so Targcest. I’ll be using Alyssa and Baelon to explain how I go around that. Alyssane was never pregnant of Alyssa; Instead, when the time came where Alyssa would be one, I opened CAS and created her using “play with genetics” then removed Jae and Alyssane’s mom and dad status. She was raised alongside the others Targ kids, but wasn’t actually their sibling. I do not edit sims faces UNLESS the character has specific features mentioned. Alyssa is described to have a prominent broken nose, for example. I do have fun adding little quirks to other characters tho; Vitiligo, mismatched eyes, gaped or broken teeth, moles etc…

May I share with you another unnecessary opinion? lol

You know, it's kind of funny when some part of fandom (who are anti-targaryens, of course) literally says that Aemond is "anti-targ", but....damn, he literally said that he could marry Helaena to "to keep our Valyrian blood pure" (it's not about shipping, etc)

I mean, yes, he is more responsible than Aegon. He is literally ready to fulfill his duty instead of Aegon (in my understanding, Aegon can really despise incest. Tom hinted at this in one of his interviews).

That scene between them in "Driftmark" basically speaks of Aemond as someone who can honor traditions of his Targaryen line. But of course I could be wrong.

i honestly don't think aegon is anti incest.

i can see aegon generally feeling completely isolated from his family because of how he sees himself, his relationship with his parents and his non existent relationship with rhaenyra and daemon.

to me, aegon feels rejected by his family and he's the type to say "well, i'll just hang where i'm accepted" and apparently that place is flea bottom.

but i don't think he's anti incest just because he doesn't seem to be attracted to / love helaena that way. this is my personal opinion.

and i feel like aemond internalized both sides. since he was the only one without a dragon, he felt like an outcast in the family. having a dragon is a huge part of being a targaryen, a rite of passage so to speak, so i feel like while he took after his mother in some aspects, he also definitely tried his best to prove that he is a targaryen prince.

he says so himself, he studied, he knows valyrian, he's great with the sword, he rides the largest dragon in the world... it kills him that he isn't the first born, seeing how in his opinion aegon is not interested in doing his duty.

and while young aemond was being taught about the targaryen traditions and such, imo the intention of the scene where he says he would have married helaena if only she had been betrothed to him instead of aegon isn't to just show that he's dutiful.

but yeah, the idea that aemond is anti targ is a very, very silly idea brought up by some green fans who hate the targaryens.
