carmen takes a while to start showing affection super outwardly. he's always a little hesitant to show it (unless we're talking after sex cuddles bc that man will ALWAYS be a clinger lol) but as far as like intimate touches, it takes him a sec. his biggest way, once he starts, is to show affection through small acts that are seemingly so casual (a little of that casual dominance) hand around your waist when you're walking down the street to keep you close from him, cutting your food up at the restaurant, the small rub he'll do on your arm before he leaves- rubbing softly before squeezing gently and placing a kiss on your skin.

carmen as a best friend is very much so a "whatever you need, whenever you need it" type friend. like would drop everything in the middle of the night to come get you. picturing that you became friends in high school. you met through mikey, you were a little more adventurous than him- more like mikey. you call him one night, drunk and scared at a party bc your asshole of a boyfriend ditched you, and carmen is out the door on his way to you.

gonna ignore the cooking one bc duh lol. but do they want to settle down? yes absolutely. carmen is nothing if not a sappy, love fool, hopeless romantic deep down. once he allows himself to love and be loved, he's all in. once the "white picket fence" so to say. he's pretty meticulous at cleaning too. keeps a very clean kitchen and is an expert at getting stains out.

big commitment guy. i feel like after eight months to a year of true, intimate, real dating and relationship, he'd propose. pretty quick that way like once he knows, he knows. he'd take your lead as far as how quick after to get married. literally if it was up to him, he'd go to the courthouse right then bc he's so excited lol. but he'd do whatever you wanted.

physically- carmen is pretty gentle with you. doesn't always have to be if you don't want him to ;) but outside of sex, he's very gentle with you. soft and sweet and kind. emotionally... he's gentle towards you, but no to himself, and sometimes that makes it worse towards you. bc he's so hard on himself, esp in your relationship, that it can cause some issues.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

yes. in the beginning, you'd hug carmen and he'd just go still. not in a "i don't like hugs" way which is what you thought at first, but in a touch starved "i don't want to move and make this stop" kinda way lol. once he allows himself to hug and be hugged, he is a big hugger. he's a classic bear hug hugger- arms wrapped around your shoulders so you're pushed into his chest. he'll bury his head into your hair or shoulder, press kisses to your cheek, sometimes he'll kinda playfully bite your ear or something silly. he goes all in for his hugs, hugs you like you've never been hugged before.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

carmen "says i love you anytime you do missionary" berzatto?? lmao. fr the first time is when you have sex and he's hitting it in missionary and it slips. the first real time was after the third or fourth date??? he just kinda looks at you and he doesn't feel self conscious, doesn't feel the constant rapid beat of his heart- not anxious. and he has that realization of like holy shit??? she makes me feel like this??? ok "i love you" and you're just kinda taken aback bc it was out of no where, but you say it back to him.

very jealous which stems from being insecure. as you grow and become more secure in your relationship, it gets better, but at the beginning- he's very jealous. he mainly will just stew in his own fury. just like a flip of a switch with his mood and is so hateful until he finally admits it. has been known, esp if they're super touchy or crossing a line, to yell and lose his shit.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

carmen's kisses are always always always gentle. like gentle and sweet- always like he's a little unsure or scared to kiss you fully, but he'll cup your face and just melt into you. he likes to kiss you in the crook of your neck bc it ALWAYS makes you giggle and flush. he likes that his little kiss can make you flustered like that. he likes it when you kiss the palm of his hands and then cradle them to your cheeks. it makes him absolutely swoon.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

carmen isn't around children a lot so he's not like great lol. he's just kinda like "what do i do with it?" lmao. but rest assured, when sugar's baby brings him a play phone as a toddler, he answers that shit. he's not a monster, he's just a little unsure. they make him anxious esp eva (richie's daughter) when she was little.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

normally, carmen has to get up kinda early and leave. might hit a meeting, then go do something (bc something always needs to be done at the bear). on the rare occasion you get to spend a morning together, carmen still gets up early (his body just naturally does) and he'll cook you breakfast. makes a big deal about bringing it to you in bed. usually it's just lazy mornings, slow and just spent being kinda lazy and content with each other. talking about the day ahead, the week, just sorta light chatter. it's just easy.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

carmen gets home late most nights. like restaurant stops seating at midnight, usually gets home at one or two depending on how busy. he's usually exhausted and will shower and just collapse next to you. if it's a slower night and he gets to come home earlier, it's still late, but you might get to watch a movie with him or take a bath.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

it takes him a little while, but once he does he can't stop. probably happens when you reveal something first, some intimate vulnerable detail and he's like ok i can trust them. then it's just like he can't stop telling you everything.

carmen can be quick tempered in the kitchen (bc he's a perfectionist and can't stand to be out of control) however, he's very patient all things considered. esp with you, he is very patient.

carmen "acts of love" berzatto has remembered every single tiny detail about you. it's kinda scary in a way how observant he is with things like that. like "oh you said you wanted slippers when we were in target the other day? so i bought you three pairs, i wasn't sure which one you'd like" or "remember when you said you used to be addicted to chocolate ice cream tacos and you're sad they got discontinued? i made it for you! sorry it isn't exact :(" "you said you wanted to see that movie one time when we saw an ad for it, so i bought us tickets." like he's that type.

he likes when you start really being yourself and comfortable around him. it's silly and small, but one time, you'd been slowly moving into his place- one thing at a time- and staying the night. at first it was like the two of you were playing house a little bit, silly and a little superficial- both of you still on your best behavior with each other. then it got real, if that makes sense? you put in your retainer, or did some part of your routine he doesn't normally get to see, and it's so small but it's like you trusted him enough, felt comfortable with him enough to do that. and he was just obsessed.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

protective to a point it can be smothering at times. he'll blame his anxieties, but it's the smallest things like you not calling him when you walk from the station to your apartment. he really is just scared something will happen to you. if someone dared to try something tho??? like we all have seen him break up fights and get furious. mf is a ball of rage (and carries a mouskatool like richie c'mon lol) he would do whatever he needed to and would not hesitate.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

too much effort lol. if that's possible. he worries himself sick about making it perfect when in reality... it really is just the thought with you. like anything he gives you will be perfect.

the smoking, duh. he smokes so much it's a turn off. you know he does it as a crutch so you try to ween it off him. he turns out to have more of an oral fixation so he spends a lot of time eating you out when he wants a cig lol.

not extremely but some. like he wants to look presentable and professional, but he's also carmy. takes pride in himself but not super into himself. just wants to looks outwardly good (since inwardly he's not as much lol)

AFTER SO LONG, THEIR REF IS DONE. my take at sun and moon :]

Lil silly hcs of em I have below..

Moondrop

- moon is 7'9, a little bit taller and lankier than sun due to his flexible and athletic ability as a security retrieval unit bot. Hence the claws, sharp teeth and speed, he's meant to retrieve any rogue animatronic (ex. Freddy or monty) that is out of its station. Or any intruder that unfortunately enters the place Compared to sun who doesn't have that programming (or did, it's now deactivated but can still be triggered slightly)

- he's overly hyper around kids and those he's comfortable around. But when it's other staff members or people, moon will tend to calm down if not just not acknowledge you. The mans like a cat, he will not care about you unless your his favorite

-doesn't really smile at anyone but those he cares about. You will always see this guy scowling or just bored, don't take it personally. He just simply doesn't care about anyone but his own babygirls and kids.

-moon will curse, absolutely all the damn time. Sun hates it. Poe LOVEs it. Sun beats them up cause he's a bad influence to hope about it.

-he loves crawling on the walls like a lil freak to Jumpscare anyone. Particularly craig. It doesn't work on hope tho.

-moon is incredibly attached to craig and his sister, he sees him like a small child to take care of and coddles him to PLS rest cause he never does (even if Craig is 25). But essentially he imprinted himself like a guardian figure to craig, at least that's how moon sees it. Craig still thinks he's a annoying freak (affectionate)

- his temper is rather short, it doesn't seem like it in hindsight but you can get on moon's badside very quickly.

-he tend to loaf around like a cat and bend in ways when he flops asleep anywhere. Sometimes he curls around sun, hope or craig like a cage as a protective habit. It becomes hard to untangle him tho.

-his clothes and body can glow in the dark as a comfort for children! However sometimes his mouth can glow too and that's just for him to be a lil cheshire cat asshole to scare people HFKDK

-both of moons eyes were originally white like sun's however side effects of the virus still lingered slightly even after his new body was built so they seemed to have stuck to those colors.

- Craig built his new body! Using old schematics and new ones he made himself with moon's preferences to finally help him out of the faulty virus with sun. It took quite a bit to help adjust to his new body. His hands and face are made of a soft silicone padding to be safe for children and his claws can hide like a cat's (he's just a cat really JFKFK)

-moon actually has somr canes for when he needed help to use his body. He technically still uses them whenever his limbs feel too tired or overexherted from certain actions

-moon uses solar power in the daytime to charge.

Sunrise

- sunny is 7'5", still pretty tall but not as much as moon who is basically freddy sized.

- his model was upgraded to be similar to moon after craig built them a new body to help fix any left over potential errors in their programming.

- before he called himself sundrop as a mix with moon's name when they shared a single body. Now that they're separate his original name continues as sunrise once again. Though he prefer sunny, Mr sun, and sundrop (only by moon and poe).

-despite being the sun animatronic, sun is very gentle and calm compared to moon. He of course has the same zoomy moments as moon. But they're a little toned down sometimes to help with any children who have overstimulation issues (moon has a similar concept but he's insane cause of his security program at night) he's very motherly in nature and tends to be overly sweet to even naughty kids to try to coax them out of their attitude to avoid banning them (he doesn't like doing that. Except for Gregory fuck that kid HRKDKD)

- sun also has claws and sharp teeth (old security program from moon) but he never uses them and prefers not to. If he's VERY upset, then perhaps they'll activate like a tick but he hates them. His claws are all battered and chewed up from anxiety trauma from moon's virus and no matter how much craig replaces them sun does it again so he gave up on it.

-sun has chewing and some harmful Stims to himself that he can't help but do when he's stressed. Moon and poe try to calm him out of it as best they can by keeping him company when he's alone or giving him stim toys when he's taking care of children. The bell on his neck was given to him by poe for that! (The one for moon also as a complimentary to sun :])

-sun is clingy, hates to be alone and tends to always be around moon or poe. He HATES being along and it scares him after the long years of not being able to interact with moon out of fear of that virus they had. It got him very bad and he just can't be by himself anymore without moon alongside him or poe to talk to. (They don't mind they love being clingy with each other)

-when moon got his body, sun essentially gave him physical therapy to help moon adjust to moving.

-sun loves putting stickers on everything. His face, on moon, on the kids or poe. If you see stickers everywhere its not just the kids it's sun's love language UFKDKk.

-sun patrols the late afternoon of the plex before night time just to be sure there are no lost children (or adults,,,) after the place has closed.

- He's not quite used to leaving the daycare and there was a time before moon got his body where sun had an intense agoraphobia to leave, afraid he might hurt others if the lights went out and he wasn't locked in the daycare to avoid hurting anyone. Poe helped him out of this fear afterward

-sun loved making art and bouncing around. His favorite thing to do is origami you'll see many little origami animals of certain fellas he works with as a cute love language. He'll also always be ontop of poe or clinging on moon, when he's not he's busy cleaning and being a cute lil gay sunshine boy.

- sun also loves singing. He doesn't have a music box like moon but he tends to hum and sing on his own (from his old theater programming) and you'll see him reenacting some musicals while cleaning in the most dramatic way with his broom or the toys around the daycare. Sometimes moon will dance around with him and try to sing and poe would too (reluctantly)

-he loves cuddling with moon and poe in a pile in his room full of pillows and plushies.

-like moon, sun is very attached to hope and her brother. Particularly the young child as he's very protective and guilt ridden from the incident he had with her thr first night she came to the daycare where moon accidentally hurt her as the lights went out. Theyll never forgive themselves for that, even if hope doesn't mind. But he's always around the little kid and thinks of her as his own, and sometimes hope has slipped "dad" at sun which has made the sun attendant malfunction incredibly in the best way. But he'll always play with her anything she wants and keep her company with moon since hope doesn't like socializing with other kids.

-if you curse he'll actually throw you. And sun is INCREDIBLY strong.

-sun uses moonlight to charge himself in the night time!

Oh he's so annoying (affectionate)

Pietro's main goal is to make you think about him wherever you are, that means bugging you constantly.

Assuming you're in the same school, he's constantly switching out your homework with blank pieces of paper, drawing messages in your books, speeding over to poke you in class knowing you can't do anything about it, etc.

It only gets worse if you're an X-Man.

During missions if you're against each other he's constantly going after you, it's gotten him in trouble with Mystique more times than he can count because he refuses to acknowledge the main purpose of the mission, instead, he only wants to annoy you.

Sometimes it's just pushing you over then zooming away, other times he constantly taunts you while running so fast you can't catch him or tell where he's going next, whatever it is, he makes sure it's enough of a bother that you start to get frustrated.

If you're in the brotherhood he can at least get missions done but you know he's bothering you the entire time, you basically end up doing all the work.

Is he flirty? Absolutely.

Expect his arm around your shoulders or waist while he talks on and on so fast you can't even catch what he's saying, but when he does slow down he's all 'You're the only one for me.' 'I love your shirt, is it new?' 'Your eyes are so beautiful, I could stare at them for hours.'

Fred's just chilling.

Think of him like Lance with Kitty but more focused on teasing you rather than being completely smitten, don't get him wrong, he loves you and he'd probably even make you a sandwich if you asked, but he'll be an asshole about it.

'Oh, come on, that's so much effort! Can't you just do it yourself?' but before you can answer he zooms off to do what you asked of him. 'here, I guess.' he huffs, a grin on his face as he hands you the item you requested.

Frederick J. Dukes / The Blob

'Do I have to stay with them..?'

Fred is under the assumption that it's impossible for you to like him back after what happened with Jean, of course he was pushy and unfair with her, but she also rejected him and all of the X-Men despise him. So, he doesn't exactly have many options when it comes to friendship, let alone dating, besides the Brotherhood.

Then comes you.

Whether you're an X-Man, member of the Brotherhood, Morlock, perhaps just a fellow mutant, or a human, student at school, he'll truly never believe that he has a chance.

While before he was fairly obsessive and pushy with his crushes, with you he's silent and very awkward, even if you're nice to him he expects backlash if he ever confesses.

If you're a member of the brotherhood his awkwardness is slightly less explainable and far more noticeable, you're his teammate, you spend almost all day together, yet he can hardly look at you and loudly complains when he's paired with you or left alone with you. It probably makes you feel like he hates you.

He's very embarrassed if you confront him about it.

Awkward, he stumbles over his words and is breathing a little heavy as he does so, trying his best to explain that he doesn't hate you, he's just. Well. You see.

It's a similar situation if you attend his school, human or mutant, he's very sweet to you and tends to avoid messing with you. Fred usually quiets down when you get near, almost shutting down in a way. The others tease him for it all the time.

He'll most likely try to avoid you, maybe Lance, Pietro and Todd will push him to interact with you just to 'stop him from bugging them about it', they totally just want to help him out, and it ends with him always running away in embarrassment or assuming, if you're quiet or not that reactive, that you hate him.

If you're paired in a school project, Fred will absolutely just skip school, he doesn't care, he skips class regularly anyway, no Pietro, it's not to avoid you, he's just too cool for class.

If you're an X-Man, it's very different.

Fred is under the assumption you both share a mutual hate for each other, you're enemies after all! The tightness in his chest that he's feeling is totally just violent urges, that's it, that's all, it's not the want to hold your hand, hold you, tell jokes and make you laugh, no, no, that's not it at all!

He tends to target you to try and avoid his feelings quicker, he hates hurting you, but throwing you away from him, physically, makes sure he won't get distracted by you.

Fred ends up crying in his room when he goes home because he's afraid he hurt you.

Heck, even the other members of the brotherhood just want him to get with you already. Lance is especially eager because he won't be the only one being made fun of for dating an X-Man.

Eventually it does spill somehow and I'd imagine he would try to run away from you, maybe you catch up or explain to him later on, whichever one, he'll get very happy when you confirm you share feelings for him. He practically fixates on you so hard that you're the only thing he talks about.

Todd Tolansky / Toad

'Hey, how it's goin', beautiful?'

He proceeds to fall down on his face.

Todd is a bit of a creep, constantly following you around and showing off his nonexistent muscles, telling the most unfunny jokes and pulling pranks on people in an attempt to impress you.

He doesn't smell nice, he's been told this his entire life, that he's slimy, disgusting, every insulting name under the sun. As such, he decides to at least try and take a shower more often for you, to make you less likely to avoid him, of course!

Todd has a big grin on his face every time he talks to you, bouncing off his feet like he's just won the lottery. He's also very, very flirty, just not that good at flirting.

His pick up lines are very 'the immediate Google search results for pick up lines.' type of cheesy, very stereotypical and eye rolling.

If you're an X-Man, member of the Brotherhood, human, mutant, etc, it doesn't matter much to him, he treats you the exact same. The only real difference is how much time he spends around you.

In the brotherhood he does try to avoid flirting in front of the guys to avoid embarrassment or teasing, but surprisingly he does ask for a lot of advice regularly. It usually never goes well, Lance and Pietro tend to just give very wrong or confusing tips and Fred doesn't really have any to give in the first place.

If you're an X-Man he tries to impress you by fighting your teammates, usually he loses, but sometimes he does win! He'll pose and ask if he's just the coolest guy or what. Todd doesn't like fighting you but he will, because unfortunately Mystique is absolutely terrifying and he doesn't want to face her wrath.

In school he likes to ask for your help, constantly bugging you about how he just desperately needs your assistance to study for this test coming up, which to be fair he does. But, if you agree to help him, he doesn't actually try. He just flirts with you the entire time.

His crush is obvious, incredibly so, even the most clueless of individuals would know he loves you because he says it directly every single day. He doesn't exactly need to 'confess' per say, all you really need to do is accept his flirting or flirt back, maybe ask him out yourself.

I think there’s a reason why I very much prefer Percy’s character arc post-Briarwood arc, because even though he is still selfish and irresponsible at times after it, he’s fuckin trying and that’s more than most can say lol. and although I find the phrasing a bit reductive, Percy is, after everything, still very much a teenage asshole. again, through no fault of his own, his late teens and early 20s are nothing but endless loops of nightmares and horror and he never had a real chance to mature past that. anyway all that to say, Percival de Rolo is a hot fuckin mess and I wouldn’t have it any other way. not to sound like every other bitch and their mother on the internet but goddamn I love flawed characters but mostly I love realistic characters. and Percy is about as close to any shithead traumatized teenager I’ve ever met, and I love him for it and I also hate him (affectionate)

Just her <33 She’s like my favorite person. Sorry real life friends, Irene is my best friend and has been since I was twelve years old.

Really though, I actually enjoy her part of the story (ignoring the sequel). I love that she’s a weird old lady who invented dragon slayers and lives in a castle across the ocean from her daughter that she just assumes is dead. Fuckin amazing. She’s flirty. She’s really hot and she knows it. She’s traumatized as hell. Good for her.

least favorite thing about them:

This kinda goes for every woman in Fairy Tail, but I hate that she’s used for fanservice, especially in the sequel, but also how they changed some scenes in the anime to showcase her massive tits. Like really?? She’s better than this. Let her wear clothes. Please.

Also, I really love super overpowered characters, but for a lot of Irene’s attacks, pure plot armor was used to beat her. Like why is she able to summon a meteor? That part is so dumb. Just let her be an enchantress. It just feels weirdly inconsistent to show that she’s powerful. We already know she’s powerful. Whatever. I’m salty.

Irene and Bloodman!! I know they don’t interact at all in canon but I love that they’re on the same team during the war. It sparked something within me. They’re both super old and have to put up with Zeref’s bullshit and would bond over that. <3

Irene x Anna! They’re old and traumatized and totally knew each other 400 years ago. Also, Irene is a lesbian so I like it a lot better than Irene x Zeref or Irene x Acnologia.

Ehhhh Irene x Acnologia gives me bad vibes… I understand the appeal I guess? She created dragon slayers to help the dragons and he became a dragon slayer and killed all of them. But MAN is it toxic. They both deserve better.

She shouldn’t have been back in the sequel…. I love Irene. So much. But she really didn’t add anything meaningful and didn’t need the ending they gave her. It was just really dissatisfying in my opinion. I feel like a lot of people didn’t mind her being back, but it really doesn’t make sense.

I love their silly little personality. I enjoy deranged little guys in general but I like that he has a weird lawyer thing going on. He says “indeed” a lot and stuff like “case dismissed” and it’s so funny. Their title is the adjudicator. Why is he a lawyer??? And the best part is he can rewrite his own personality. So he wrote himself to be this way. That’s amazing. Go little funky robot guy go!!

I feel like Wall was really doomed by the narrative. He should have had so much more screen time. He just has so much potential. Why introduce a species of robot people as well as alchemy just to kill the guy off? It just makes me sad because they’re so fun.

I also really hate Laxus fighting Wall at all… I think it would have been so much cooler to give the Thunder Legion a better fight against them! Anyway, I don’t know how unpopular that is, but it’s all I have right now.

can we talk about baldur's gate i've been dying to talk about baldur's gate

(spoilers below, mostly about act 3 and the ending)

i'm sure these points have already been discussed MANY times and by people who are better at articulating their words than i am. BUT I GOTTA TALK ABOUT THIS STUPID GAME CONSUMING MY MIND (brain worms (real) (tadpole) (not clickbait))

i did not play Early Access but bring daisy back!! i think she is more interesting than what the guardian became

daisy can still be the manifestation of the tadpole and the guardian is there to steer you away from its influence. plus down by the river gets to make sense again

obviously the guardian is the emperor, who does have an interest in convincing you to embrace the tadpole powers in canon HOWEVER. in my silly little fanon, the emperor wants you sane and/or manipulatable enough to work with him to defeat the elder brain, so he would discourage the use of the tadpole

why would he NEED tav to be a mind flayer too? 🤨 like buddy what if i'm a STRONGER rogue illithid than you are and i ruin your plans?

there should've been actual consequences for consuming tadpoles/using the powers (even with the emperor's/orpheus' protection) → as in: you start to lose control and your sense of self because you are accelerating ceremorphosis

not sure how that would work game mechanics-wise, but it gives more weight to the dilemma of choosing to use the tadpole or not than just "raaa i am upholding my morals and values i want to stay 100% non-illithid raaaa" (which i think is a valid reason but feels a bit flimsy)

speaking of orpheus, i think he should've had a more active role earlier on in the story than being reserved for the very very end, whether that be actually being freed from his prison or just a way for tav to interact with him

just some way of getting to know him better instead of just taking voss' and lae'zel's word for his character (i guess taking the gamble on if orpheus is trustworthy IS part of the story and my tav was stupid enough to do that, but i feel like there are many companions/other tavs who would rather make a more informed decision) lol

it would've been so funny to play up his straight man/Only Sane Man role, especially for a tav who is easily distracted off doing side-quests

i've seen people speculate that it's because the emperor believes he has a higher chance of survival by siding with the netherbrain and willingly allows himself to be dominated by it

but i think it is so. stupid 😭 cmon man it can't just be two binary choices for you (get killed by orpheus vs join the netherbrain) i'm sure there's a secret third option we can work out

it would've made more sense to just have a fight in the astral plane right then and there over the netherstones (but he wouldn't initiate an unnecessary battle where he would be outnumbered lmao)

plus that choice/ending should've factored in more of what your relationship with the emperor was (making overall positive/cooperative choices over the course of the game → chance of convincing the emperor to stay on your side or something)

🔹 How close were you as friends before you got together?  pretty damn close!!!! i'm demisexual so it takes a large amount of trust and familiarity with someone before i can develop feelings. at the start of our friendship i call him "dude" and "bro" (still do sometimes) and tbh the 'best friends' aspect of our relationship is still very prominent

4. what is a word that makes you go absolutely feral? there are a lot that make me go feral in a good way, usually when i can't think of the perfect word i need and then suddenly it comes to me. but there are also so many porn words that make me feral in a bad way, like nipple and all nipple related words, pretty much all the language for describing assholes--for someone who loves to write porn, i really hate the language available to me to do so.

23. describe the physical environment in which you write. for years and years, i have written in bed (i spend a lot of time in bed in general). usually i'm slumped with my laptop on my lap, empty redbull cans and used tissues and dirty plates in a pile on one side, my notebook on the other. i used to write to music constantly, so my big noise-canceling headphones are nearby, but lately i've been writing in silence which is really weird for me.

28. who is the most delightful character you've ever written? why? writing stede and ed has been an absolute blast, they are both so much fun to write, i think because they're both so silly and stupid and insane (/extremely affectionate). like, when i come up with ridiculous ideas, their characterizations can really hold up while enacting those ridiculous ideas, and that's just a delightful imagination space to inhabit. also, shout out to andrew scott's james moriarty, who i wrote for one fic but also stole the skin/characterization for an original character in my first novel (years and years ago). he was my little meow meow before the term existed and i will always have love for his tragic amoral insanity.

Love and Thunder

Just some quick thoughts and rambling. But basically more Kirby-ish adventures and feels.

The fucking Goats. I kept waiting for one of them to die, only for the horror of realizing that NO THESE GOATS ARE IMMORTAL YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE THAT FUCKING SCREAMING. Angry screaming giant goats. I was denied Immortal Goat Resurrection but it’s okay but we got the reminder of why goats got associated with evil and its partially because of their creepy eyes and their screaming at everything.

This whole movie is about the loneliness of closing off your heart, and how you just have to open it and be willing to risk being hurt because it’s worth it.

“EVERYONE ADMIRES AND RESPECTS ZEUS BECAUSE HE’S THE OLDEST AND WISEST”. No I’m pretty sure Zeus is in charge of the city of the gods because he’s that Dudebro that has all the best parties and he won’t invite you if you aren’t “cool” with him. (I saw people complain they “ruined Zeus” but like.....hello? 99% of Greek mythology was “And then Zeus and his penis ruined everything” like he’s the classic Petty Selfish Asshole that ruins everything. 

Okay yeah it was silly but also perfect to have Thor decide the best way to save the kidnapped children from the monsters was to ENCHANT WHATEVER JUNK THEY FOUND and temporarily give them all The Power of Thor. 

Likewise, they never outright confirm it but the implication that Mjölnir had gained a secondary Enchantment by accident. That Thor whispering to it to take care of Jane and it responding laid the ground-work for it calling her when she was Worthy and needed it.

When two rock aliens love one another, they hold hands over a lava pool for two months. And then a baby rock forms in their hands. (His name is Dwayne, because of course we needed gay rock aliens with puns.)

And ultimately, throwing out the comics’ method of Gor being defeated in favor of a more uplifting and anti-nihilist ending. It wasn’t brute force, or being Right and Just(tm), or making him realize he’d become what he hated.

It was just.....making him realize that he could have whatever he wanted. And challenging him to decide between killing all the gods....or giving his daughter a second chance. 

I legit didn’t realize until the end that her name was actually “Love”. Not a nickname, not him speaking affectionately to his child. 

The “Love” in the title isn’t about Jane. It’s about the little girl that liked to draw and died a tragic death because of a cruel god that didn’t care, but got to have a second chance because her father finally found gods that did care.

So I guess the next Thor adventure is the classic Thor vs Heracles.

Maxlar, an actual parent; a child! Aten: NO

Hades is just too anxious to babysit alone, and because Aten cannot be trusted with that job (he's too chaotic, it'd end in arson), he almost never watches the Whishling kiddos. Devon is just better at being the cool uncle than babysitting. Malvo is surprisingly good with kids. This fact breaks my heart :')

Dot and Devon are both smart just not always. Aten is very cunningly smart

Hmm yeah, pretty straightforward.

Malvo's a Demon. If I had Troy, Titus and Cyrus it'd be Cyrus on knows a few recipes, Troy is banned, and Titus made toast once for someone else

Devon and Dot being the biggest sweethearts <3 Malvo aggressively telling someone "Go to therapy" in that neutral yet condescending voice of his just hits different

Hades: *struggling to run a kingdom in the midst of war* Dot's kindness is often mistaken for her liking them Devon is once again struggling from the cons of Scary Dog Privilege no one wants to talk about

Titus once again being a literal cop. Hades: *on the verge of tears because of this incident* Maxlar showing off his actually good musical skills The BoysTM are supporting him

Something about Aten being labeled as simply "piece of shit" makes me giggle every time I see it

They all want to be optimists (except Malvo) but they've seen too much/been through too much to be chaotic about it :(

Aten and Hades are both cold-natured so they almost always have the heat on and have so many blankets that Hades, rather than changing one of those things, just abandons pants. Aten abandons clothes anyways because of his wings and stuff. He's the big spoon :)

Maxlar and Troy being passionately stupid will never not be funny to me. Titus does not give a shit anymore. His fucks are all gone.

Maxlar isn't suicidal by any means but he's had a really fucked up life and he's probably reached a point where his death being confirmed would be a relief. Same with Hades, only he'd say this internally. His outward reaction, as a King, is to say "Give the orders" Troy knows what the word means. He's just a shit.

There's a story here with Cracker Barrel Also, ignore Malvo trying to kill children. Don't worry about it. Devon believes in aliens because "I'm technically an alien, and I believe in myself so there!" Hades believes in the same thing but applies it to Aten "he's technically an alien and I believe in him" Dot is a secret cryptid hunter
