You had known Michael was autistic two weeks into dating him. Being a psychology student in university, as well as a person with ADHD, it was rather easy for you to make the assumption, but you waited until he explicitly told you himself to draw any conclusions.

When he had told you, it didn't change the way you felt about or saw him. He was still your Michael. The sweet, silly, loving boy you had fallen in love with. You'd admit that it took some getting used to, but it didn't make you love him any less.

Perhaps Michael's strongest autistic aspect was his love of his special interests. Your boyfriend would spend hours collecting, researching, and learning about his favorite things. Right now, Michael's most intense special interest was Pokémon, which is what he was currently engaging in.

Your boyfriend, whose hair was currently bright red, sat on the couch with a box of colored pencils and a pad of paper. His tongue was poking out the side of his mouth as he concentrated. Michael was an excellent artist, especially when it came to his special interests.

"Whatcha drawing, Mike?" You asked him, looking up from your laptop.

Michael blushed, a small smile adorning his face as he turned the paper to show you. On the pad was an extremely intricate drawing of Arcanine.

"Michael, that's beautiful!" You cooed, kissing his cheek.

He blushed and giggled, playing with his bracelets excitedly. "Did you know that Arcanine is an evolution of Growlithe? He got huge! He was in Puppy category, but then became Legendary and got so cool! He used to be two feet tall and now he's six."

Over the course of his little speech, Michael's grin had gotten huge and he had become more animated. You couldn't help but to smile as you looked at him, excitedly talking and waving his hands.

"You're adorable when you get passionate." You smiled.

Michael blushed again, scooting over on the couch to lean into your side. "You think so? I know people get annoyed with me sometimes..."

"Oh Michael," You ran a hand through his fluffy hair. "I love it when you teach me things. I'm always willing to listen to your interests, love."

"You don't think it's annoying when I infodump?"

You shook your head, holding him closer if that were even possible. "Never. I've learned so much from you and I still do every day. Anyone that thinks you're annoying for trying to share your joy doesn't deserve you, darling."

Michael smiled, tipping his face up to nuzzle your cheek. "I love you."

"I love you more, angel. I'll always listen."
