As usual, I started focaccia for dinner without a plan for what we’d have with it. After poking around in my recipes, I found this one for street corn soup that I hadn’t tried yet. I had all the ingredients but a jalapeño (I subbed a poblano) and bacon crumbles (I used chopped vegetarian bacon). It turned out to be really delicious. Big project for dinner tonight. Shell Beans and Summer Vegetables Stewed in Their Own Juices from Local Flavors by Deborah Madison. It wasn’t a difficult recipe, just time consuming. Luckily everything is chopped big, which helps. Everything just barely fit in the Dutch oven. It was really tasty and a little sweet from the squash and tomatoes. With the basil purée, it was especially delicious. I got fresh cranberry beans for the shelling beans and they were so pretty.
