Q: So, i take it the band's second single was composed and arranged primarily by... Haddock, was it? Hiddock (he/him), guitarist: Hiddock. Deryn (presumed she/her), bassist: [incoherent] St. Tuna Piano (he/him), frontman & drummer: Yeah, no input from me at all, man. Real inspiring stuff. Shame Petr coul'n't sing vocals again. Q: ... What was the reason this time? St. Tuna Piano: Cuz 'e choked on a bell pepper, that's wot. Irrevokably out o' commission. Deryn: [incoherent] Hiddock: Truth be told, I was initially inspired after our day trip to Um'ami — er, before it flooded last week, that is — but it wasn't until Shipshape Cargo Co. broke into the whole Turf War shtick that this idea just... arose through spontaneous generation; Squid Athena being birthed, fully formed, from her own skull. I mean, like, this new battleground floats through the remains of the polar ice caps — in essence, the impetus of both humanity's extinction and the Great Turf War, now used for a mundane cargo route and commercialized inkspewing. Don't you think that's oddly messed up? Q: Couldn't say. Anyway: there seems to be some degree of curiousity regarding a sample used around the one-minute mark. Any remarks? Hiddock: From a demo tape we found. Lost media; fit the theme. You wouldn't believe if we told you how we got it. Deryn: [fervent babble; no less comprensible] Q: I... don't believe she was even invited to this interview. How, uh... why is your bassist present? Hiddock: Well, "present" isn't... the word I would use. She's here, certainly. St. Tuna Piano: She comes n' goes as she pleases. Sorry if she touches anythin', 'er hands get all sticky. Q: Yes, but where did she come from? St. Tuna Piano: Same place anyone does, I 'xpect. Hiddock: Under a bridge. St. Tuna Piano (abruptly): Don't worry about it. We, eh, take care of her. so I noticed on the new ship stage there's ice in the background, which means they probably aren't in Splatlandian/Inkadian waters… do they just like stow away on the ship until it's in the middle of the ocean??

so i found out on Shipshape Cargo Co there are flying fish in the waters in the background ! n i wondered, are these actually low Polly models ?? if u what do they look like ?? i thought i might ask u out of all peeps xD i found out from this tweet

holy HELL was this hard, i had to hex edit some files because switch toolbox is dumb trying to find it particles from certain file formats but whatever i got it!

it's actually a model, and from what i can see, there's not a texture, it's only done actually with vertex colours!

In blender you want this for the material setup, using a colour attribute node. replace principled with whatever material thing you want

Today's news from the official twitter start with a video showcasing the other new Stage, Shipshape Cargo Co.!

It takes place on a ship sailing away from Splatsville, which makes me wonder how we get to and from this place, anyway. The stage is built around a central chokepoint where the low and high routes converge, and I'm guessing it'll play similarly to Undertow Spillway, except that you can actually use the upper path to get to the enemy side of the map.

Additionally, we're getting over 300 new locker items! This was in the patch notes, but it's still neat!

hmmm..... honestly that little guy is a bit of an outlier, most of the time unique species dont have models unless theyre clearly visible to the player

off the top of my head, some levels in octo expansion have other sea cucumbers hanging out, but as much as i love them, they are just cq cumber retextures lol

there are also some tiny little flying fish that pop up in shipshape cargo co, if you wanna count them

and of course the snapper canal ducks

DRIZZLE SEASON 2023

I'm going to do a bit of analysis this time on things I found interesting!

First of all, we'll be getting an Anniversary Splatfest - Who would be the Best leader of Deep Cut? Shiver, Frye, or Big Man? (Team Frye rise up and get our girl her win!)

Then along with some badges and banners (as well as double chances of 10x battles), we'll be getting the Deep Cut Amiibos in November! Can't wait for my wallet to cry!

Last of the Twitter updates is that we're getting a Big Run literally the day the new season drops. No news on where or if there's a new King yet!

Now onto the trailer!

First off, more new music! From what we hear in the trailer I like it! Not nearly as much as Yoko and The Gold Bazookas, but it's definitely Splatoony!

Mixing up the order a bit, we have two NEW maps! Pretty sure everyone thought Crableg Capital was Saltspray on the first few seconds, but it appears to be a mid city construction site (perhaps it will come back completed in Splatoon 4 like Hammerhead?) And the other new map is Shipshape Cargo Co., which seems to be a cargo ship in the middle of the artic (how are these kids wearing tees and sandals here without freezing?) I'm no map expert, so I'll leave the good map/bad map debate to more experienced players, but I really like the look of these!

Next are the two new weapons - Dread Wringer and Heavy Edit Splatling! Dread Wringer seems to be a laundry or mop bucket with a wringer attachment that launches two shots per swing. And the Heavy Edit looks like it's a mix between a highlighter and a correction fluid bottle, but I could be mistaken. It seems to have nearly perfect accuracy.

The Gold Dynamo is finally here! And it got clowned on the entire trailer. So it's back but at what cost?

Next up is a cool new feature! The ability to adjust the position of your hat and the size of your shirt (possibly more?) This personally is my favorite feature shown so far, since I ADORE the fashion in this game (pwease give us more gear that just catalog based Nintendo I am BEGGING you)

Next up, Salmon Run! We get the returning stage Salmonid Smokeyard, which I have never played on, so hopefully it's not as horrible as Marooners! And new gloopsuits! With patterns! Fancy! And seeing as the last time we got new suits we got returning Splat 2 Salmon Run gear, that probably means we'll be getting more of those in the shop (I still have two peices I need to get 😭)

New Tableturf cards which reveals the new weapon kits we're getting - Bloblobber, Tristringer, Ballpoint, Brella, Gootuber, Sloshing Machine, Gold Dynamo and Octobrush(plus the two new weapons!) Also now have cards for the Salmon Kings in the illustrated style! I don't think any other salmon cards are illustrated except Lil' Buddy.

And lastly, new challenges! A previously leaked by Nintendo themselves mode with a modded Rainmaker that shoots 3 shots, a fast swimming mode and another special based one, this time with Inkjet!

Currently very excited for this season! Let me know what you all think!

Drizzle Season 2023 Trailer Breakdown!

Hey everyone! So we finally got a new trailer for Drizzle Season 2023 (and before y'all ask there was no Side Order in the trailer, unfortunately...) and damn this season's looking fresh! Anyways, here's my breakdown of the trailer (including some news that wasn't in the trailer!)

New splatband inkoming! In the trailer we get a preview of a new song called "Ripstop and Go" by a new splatband called H2Whoa!

New stage #1: Crableg Capital!

New weapon type #1: the Dread Wringer, a new slosher that shoots two slosher projectiles at once!

Also it appears that we're finally getting a second kit for the Tri-Stringer!

New stage #2: Shipshape Cargo Co. (suprisingly we aren't getting a returning stage... or are we...?)

New weapon type #2: Heavy Edit Splatling. Not too sure what this new splatling's gimick is, though.

GOLD DYNAMO IS FINALLY BEING ADDED TO THE GAME.

Salmonid Smokeyard is coming back to Salmon Run!

We're getting new, interesting worksuits for Salmon Run as well!

Tableturf Battle cards reveal other returning weapons such as Goo Tuber Deco, a new Sloshing Machine (most likely Sloshing Machine Neo), Octobrush Nouveau, Bloblober Deco, Ballpoint Splatling Nouveau, and a new vanilla brella (most likely a sorella).

New king salmonid Tableturf Battle cards (if only we actually got a new king salmonid instead of just cards)

New challenges include Inkjets for Everyone (Too Many Trizookas but with inkjets), Swim It to Win It (not too sure what the gimick to this challange is), and Modded Rainmaker Test-Fire (where the rainmaker has 3 shots instead of one).

And that's all I could get from the trailer. Anyways here's some news that we DIDN'T get with the trailer!

Next splatfest will be held next month from the 8th to the 10th, celebrating S3's first anniversary! The theme? Well, hold onto your tentacles everyone because the next splatfest theme is.... Who would be the best leader? Shiver v Frye v Big Man! Basically we're getting a repeat of the S1 final splatfest, Callie v Marie, but without the change of one of Deep Cut's members getting squidnapped!

Not only will we be getting a splatfest next month, before the fest we'll be having a big run starting from September 1st to the 3rd! The stage hasn't been announced yet, but I will post an update once we get more news about the big run!

We're getting Deep Cut badges! These badges can be earned by playing 10x battles! And if you can't win a 10x battle or can't make it this splatfest, you can win them in other splatfests!

Speaking of banner decor, everyone will be able to recieve Deep Cut banners via Splatoon 3's news channel on the switch starting the begining of Drizzle Season 2023!

And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for... NEW DEEP CUT AMIIBOS WILL BE RELEASING NOVEMBER 17TH! We don't know what gear we'll be getting just yet, but hey! They're here!
