Random Shiny!!

I love how I ran around in a massive mass outbreak to see if a shiny Zorua would appear, and right before it ended, a shiny Snorunt popped up out of nowhere at random. Leveled it up, and got a shiny Glalie!! More shinies to add to the group!

so my recent discovery from looking online is that mass outbreaks have huuuuuge shiny rate odds so that turtwig i was so proud of earlier wasn’t actually that impressive at all (although i didn’t have the stacked additional bonus of a full dex rank at the time). most of my shinies have been from massive mass outbreaks. however, in the span of like half an hour, i’ve found two shinies OUTSIDE of mass outbreaks. i had a full dex rank for those but those odds were still not great. that’s pretty cool

It’s a six year old boy who just learned how to tie his shoes on his own whose mother let him pick out any Game Boy Color game he wanted. That boy chose Pokemon Gold.

It’s a ten year old boy who received Pokemon Ruby as a birthday present from his best friend and, several months later, Pokemon FireRed.

It’s a thirteen year old boy who, because of circumstances beyond his control, was unable to play the next three generations of Pokemon.

It’s a 23 year old man who, using part of his graduation gift, purchased a Nintendo 2DS and Pokemon Sun.

It’s a 24 year old man who nearly fainted when he saw a shiny Medicham in an Ultra Wormhole.

It’s a 28 year old man who, in the middle of playing Pokemon Legends Arceus, managed to see a shiny Pokemon in the wild for the first time in his life.

And it’s a 28 year old man who, this very night, found a shiny Pokemon in the wild for the first time in a flagship title.

It’s thousands of hours over 22 years playing a series that means more to me than anyone knows.

And it’s a six year old boy that saw the end of one journey tonight and the beginning of another. 

Time to start writing this story’s next chapter.
