It’s time to reveal the 13th realm (Bracket 13)… Heart of the Cards!
A curious realm where spontaneity has been morally accepted as a thrill of life. Weapons shaping from thin air, structures falling from the sky, basic tools glowing with unimaginable combinations… and it all seems to stem from mystical arts the denizens have been practicing for eternity. Embed such arts into any accepted form of card, and you can turn any table in your favor with a simple grip of two fingers. In order to win the Indie Artifact and its wondrous effects, they will have to play it big and risk losing everything.
One Step From Eden
100% Orange Juice!
Dicey Dungeons
Rounds
Oh, and as a bonus… I revealed “The Gun Show” bracket/realm during the precursor, albeit indirectly and without much indicator. Let’s give them the highlight they deserve! (Bracket 16)
Tumblr media
Among the highest complaints of this realm’s neighbors are the sounds of faraway explosions triggering individual reactions akin to shell shock. However, when your prime directive is always set to shoot and ask questions later, how could you resist? Just look at all these weapons! Those are the words the citizens of “The Gun Show” live by. They even host monthly events within their many mini-colosseums in hopes of getting others to follow their ballistic example. (the colosseums suffer severe repercussions every, single, time.) With the Indie Artifact summoning a beam of light upon its arrival, one can only wonder… how does it shoot?
Deep Rock Galactic
ShellShock Live
Risk of Rain 2
Nuclear Throne
Stay tuned for the next reveal! (Did I mention every unrevealed realm has elected to uncover their bracket titles? How exciting!)

So, *checks watch* one year later, I have finished Side A of my fanfic. If you like ZeRoyalChaos or are in general a fan of the Derp Crew/Private Recording One, shenaniganery, mystery and action with some genuine heart to back it up, check it out! In a world that’s a mash of Among Us, Town of Salem, Shellshock Live and the Private Recording One continuity, the fate of the Earth is in the hands of a gang of rebels with superpowers! What could possibly go wrong? Also, it’s very gay. That’s probably the most impostant part of this. The aliens are secondary, really. (Yes, I reuploaded the fic because of a massive scheduling mistake. It’s all good now!)

ShellShock Live latest update brings important new features
Tumblr media
ShellShock Live Triple-One Update is out for the multiplayer strategy game for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Discover the remarkable outcome achieved through the unwavering loyalty and talent of developer kChamp Games. Available now on Steam, and continues the 94% Very Positive reviews. I've got some exciting news for Linux gamers. The latest update for ShellShock Live, "Triple-One," is finally here. This update brings some new features, fixes, and adds some fresh content to keep things interesting. One of the better additions in this update is a new feature called "Flares." Flares are a way for players to communicate with each other in the ShellShock Live. You can find them by clicking on a special button that looks like a target in the game's user interface. Once you select a flare, you can choose whether you want to send the message to your team or to everyone playing the game on Linux. Then, you pick a spot on the map where you want the flare to appear. There are different types of flares you can use. The first one is called the "Circle" flare, which lets you mark specific things on the map like crates or tanks. This can be useful for letting your team know where important items are located. The second type is the "Arrow" flare, which you can use to show your teammates where you're planning to move or ask them to move to a certain location. The third flare is the "Crosshair," and it allows you to point out a specific enemy that you want your team to attack. Finally, there's the "X" flare, which you can use to mark anything you want, like a point of interest or a target for your team to focus on.

In addition to the new flares, the update also introduces the "Dual-Wheeled Tank Track." This feature lets you equip your tank with two sets of tracks instead of just one. It might not sound like a big deal, but it can give you more control and maneuverability in ShellShock Live on Linux. Now, let's talk about the new content that comes with the Triple-One update. The ShellShock Live developers have added a bunch of new "Dogtags" for you to collect. Dogtags are like virtual medals that you can earn in the game to show off your achievements. With these new additions, there are even more unique Dogtags for you to unlock and collect. It's a great way to keep things fresh and give you more goals to strive for in this Linux game. Of course, no update is complete without some bug fixes and tweaks. The ShellShock Live developers have been hard at work. Fixing a bug that caused a negative countdown error at the start of matches, which is a relief. Also making sure the character "Wanderer" works correctly in certain game modes. They addressed some issues with the "Portal Gun" and how it interacts with obstacles, and they made the size of the "Sonar projectile" weapon consistent. Additionally, kChamp sorted out a bug where certain weapons would accidentally hit the player themselves in a free-for-all match. Also making some changes to how healing weapons are assigned in certain game modes. So things should work smoother on Linux now.
XP System Changes:
On top of the bug fixes, the developers have made some tweaks to the game's experience points (XP) system. They increased the XP multiplier for the Deathmatch mode, which means you'll earn more XP when playing that mode. They did the same for a mode called Assassin, boosting the XP multiplier for that as well. That's about it for the Triple-One update! With the new Flares feature, you can communicate better with your teammates and strategize more effectively in ShellShock Live. The Dual-Wheeled Tank Track gives you better control over your tank, and the new Dogtags add a fun collectible element to the game. Available for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC on Steam. Priced at $9.99 USD / £8.50 / 9,75€.

A Note on Shell-shook
imagine 100%-ing Shellshock Live. well I don't have to cause my friend actually did it and it's kind of absurd, but at the same time annoyingly impressive. I say annoyingly because the game is like an overused meme within my friend group and we hated playing the game, but played it anyways.
Now let me tell you why you could play this game with friends.
first of all, great for you and 7 friends (for which I'm assuming you've got 7 friends because not all of us are social butterflies, I know). of course, it's best played with an even number of people team modes can't be played with an asymmetrical number.
you definitely lose track of time playing this game, especially depending on how good you are using fake physics.

Ok, so Mikey meeting Miles' parents and them loving him because he is polite and speaks Spanish, cooks well and is very sweet is fine and well.
But consider:
Mikey has a fucking Doctor persona called Doctor Rude (we see him in one of the storyboards for the scrapped episodes and I truly love and cherish him and cry because the episode got scrapped).
So like, my boy can be veryyyyyyyy rude.
He doesn't insult them or anything but he defenitly says straight to Miles' dad that he does not like cops and that his family is currently wanted.
Rio and Jeff are just like: Miles why are you dating a criminal. Why is his dad a war criminal and why did two of his brothers join gangs on accident. How is that even possible. Why do they have beef with a powerful crime boss. Why do they not exist by the law's standards. Are they illegal immigrants.
Miles doesn't know. Miles too is surprised by the criminal record of Mikey's family.
I mean, the Rise Turtles have veryyy shaky morals. It is canon that Donnie hacks ATMs to get money and like, in my heart he hacks the bank accounts of billionaires.

I got to say I really liked the episode (despite only having watched exu calamity of the exu series) and I think maybe Matt needed a breather after so many fast paced, lore filled episodes.
however, I am kinda bummed that the fcg processing has been put on hold for (at least) two weeks now and that means that, despite them being great actors that truly merge with their characters at the table, their reactions will be much less raw and there’s a chance some of them will forget tidbits of information, emotions they felt when it happened because they (as role players) will have had time to process it out of the game and it might create a dissonance in the game. tbf I kind of felt the difference even between the end of ep 91 and the beginning of 92 but it made sense because technically they were still running and couldn’t afford to process. idk. I have hope that we’ll still see that raw emotion, but I fear it won’t be as impactful as it could’ve been, especially if they’ll have to put the “reporting for duty” hat on immediately when they get to the camp
I think being a little bummed about the sort of unexpected hiatus on the Bell's Hells/Post F.C.G processing is super understandable! As someone who also really did enjoy the Crownskeepers return (hello im still yelling about Opal internally), I'm kind of in the same camp of being kind of thrown/disappointed about not getting to really dig into/sit with the Bell's Hells post-F.C.G loss. Like, LOVED the Crownkeepers, fascinating second half, kind of meh on the specific timing.
I'm holding my reservations about whether they're going to have to keep running/moving once we return to their portion of the story, since hey, until it happens (or doesn't!), we don't know, so I don't feel like getting too in my head about it until then.
That said! I do think that in general the cast puts characterization and staying true to the emotions of the character/story as a very high priority within the campaign. I think you're right that it won't be the exact same as if they had done a big emotional blowup/goodbye/processing scene in the same ep where they lost F.C.G, or immediately after. I don't think that means it has to be less impactful, just that- yeah, they'll have had more time to actually think/process it.
But they're also all professional voice actors who have, IMO, thus far shown how much they think about the inner lives of their characters and enjoy really digging deep into the emotional/interpersonal aspects of roleplay.
My assumption (my hope?) is that with additional time to think about + process a devastating/deeply emotional loss for their character(s), they'd choose to lean into that more, and not less. It wont be the same as the immediate raw reactions, thats true! But i dont think that means it has to be less impactful, even if they (as people) have had more time to process, and will be choosing how their characters, fresh off the loss, react. I dont think thats a guarantee it will be less impactful/emotional (maybe the additional thinking would actually enhance the reactions being true/insightful to the characters vs gut reactions from cast), but it will be different.
But if the cast chooses to lean into the heartbreak/emotions, and the circumstances of the BH in the upcoming ep enable it, I'm sure they can still kick my ass (emotionally), timeskip or not.
In general, I'm cautiously optimistic about what could happen next! Even if I don't love the timing thus far. I think there's still plenty of ways for me to get what I'm hoping for wrt F.C.G/BH. :] There are plenty of ways for me to get let down too, probably, but until it happens, or doesn't, I'm opting to not get too doomery about it. We'll see.
I uh. Hope that helps? A bit? Being bummed about specific things you were hoping for being off the table is totally reasonable. just hoping to lend an alternate way of viewing it, if desired.
(i wrote the sentence: "don't be lamenting your chickens before they hatch" and then went "what the fuck" out loud. i spent 4 hours at work today just doing systems diagramming and my brain is fried. clearly. keeping this here for my own entertainment.)

okay I am LOGGING OUT to drink wine and work on my WIPs but I will probably be back with today's Smurch fill unless it spirals out of control which is not unlikely at this point because my little gremlin brain is running with an idea that definitely won't fit into ~200 words

Introducing: the dynamic duo! And with this, I’m done with the batch of illustrations for the fic! Now I just have to finish writing it ^^’
There's a lot going on here. There are all the Shellshock weapons-- Chilled's carrying a ballistic cat and the banana bunch (+ a bazooka to fire them), while Ze has the flaming arrow (+ regular arrows), the bow, pyrotechnics fireworks, the boomerang and, of course, a cactus, because he wouldn't be Ze without his beloved Cactus Strike. As for the space-suits, the two are wearing their signature colours (Chilled white and Ze red), and the letters on Chilled's suit are the ones on his hats, while the studs on his sides are supposed to be reminiscent of his stupid crab(?) outfit. One can argue that the eyeblack is canon, but in this AU he wears it to counter the glare from his white suit (since he's the crew's best sniper) instead of as an homage to the Mets, lol. And he has a crotch vee, to go with his flirtatious personality. Of course one can only get so suggestive with baggy space-suits, but there was an attempt. Meanwhile, Ze's rebreather apparatus is shaped like his symbol (the crown too!), and he's wearing his hat, only in this AU his horns are real. It's not very visible, but his suit has a lot of belts and buckles like a KH character, lol. And... that's about it, I think? Also, guess who did this entire drawing before remembering that Ze's left-handed. Lel.
