to the point where it's almost a problem

the thing is, he has an excessive amount of money

he's america's favourite playboy, for gods sake

and before, when he had no one, and was actually pretty lonely and needed something to fill that void in his life

he would just blow out his money

ladies, private jets, parties, illegal substances, he would do it all

but now that he has the love of his life?

he blows it all out on her

diamonds and jewels, expensive shoes, luxury coats and furs (fake, of course), designer clothes, perfumes and makeup, the list continues

he gets her everything

if she wants it, it's hers, no questions asked, even if she didn't ask for it

"did you know norway is the coldest country in europe?" she tells him

smash cut to johnny getting them a private jet to the best hotel resort in all of norway

because she has ice powers, so she needs the cold, unlike johnny who can withstand any temperature

vivien wakes up one morning to find johnny gone from the bed. she goes to the bathroom, has a shower, does the whole morning routine, and what she sees in the bathroom doesn't phase her one bit. she goes out into the living space and finds johnny making coffee. she goes up to him and hugs him from behind, and he immediately turns in her arms to brush his hands through her hair and kiss her neck.

"johnny?"

"hmmm?"

"why is there a solid gold bathtub in the bathroom?"

people kind of give them shit for this though

they say vivien's just using him for the money, and johnny's just buying her things in exchange for sex

but that's not true

it's a form of love, and vivien knows it. no matter how many people think it's materialistic, she knows he loves her regardless

with the way he keeps the thermostat off in their apartment so it's cold for her, even though he wraps himself in ten layers of blankets, or the way he carries her to bed and places kisses over her face when he thinks she's asleep

she's not she just pretends to be so he does the cute kiss thing again

and johnny knows she loves him regardless of all of the gifts he buys her

like how she never fails to make him his favourite blueberry pancakes with a whipped cream smile every morning, even if she has to leave early for work, she gets up extra early to make them and leave them out for him

or the way she spoons him at night, stroking his hair, because she knows that he hates sleep (even if he doesn't say it), because once he shuts his eyes, his brain goes into override and he starts to panic over everything he's ever done

she doesn't need all the gifts and money to love him, and he doesn't need to buy all these things for him to have her

vivien knows that him spoiling her is an expression of love because she knows his brain is the same as a five year old boys

he loves her, so he will show her with high costing things, because the amount he spends is a metaphor for the amount he loves her

johnny's not good with feelings, he can't just outright declare his love for his girlfriend, the same way vivien pretended to hate him for so long

they both have major trust issues, and they both get it

so when johnny wakes her up one day with a box of diamond earrings in his hand, he's saying 'i love you', and vivien wearing them on the next date is her saying 'i love you more'
