heyyyyy so I’m writing a little Shakalodin hurt/comfort/fluff fic if you wanna read it :)

Summary:

Kaladin mentally and physically overdoes it, ends up running extremely low on Stormlight and on the brink of collapsing.

He goes to Adolin and Shallan’s rooms for help, but can’t help his thoughts from turning dark and the wretch from taking over. A story of my fave polyamorous throuple caring for, tending to and looking after dear Kaladin when he won’t take care of himself.

(This takes place sometime after RoW, but honestly this is self indulgent whump/hurt/comfort/soft gentle fluff for my own pleasure so who cares when it happens?)

jsyk all, I am currently writing a duel fic centered around the same overarching plot. Features Kell and Mare and then Shakalodin in a way. (Kal is with Tarah but the three interact a ton)

9. What is the most embarrassing thing they have done in front of each other?

kaladin: in his opinion, cry. to the others, it wasn’t embarrassing, but he felt like that. for adolin and shallan he probably was kinda embarrassing when he got all blushy and grumpy and jealous over something minor but he was convinced he wasn’t jealous (he was)

adolin: uh he does like 10 embarrassing things a day minimum. probably tried to get kaladin in one of his fancy clothes while drunk, in front of everyone, muttering about how sexy he’d look

shallan: probably showed her safehand once when they weren’t in the bedroom whoops dirty af

14. When one has a cold, what does the other do?

kaladin: literally nurses them back to health, is extremely strict on what they can and can’t do. tells them exactly why they should or shouldn’t drink/eat certain things, tracks their sleep, calculates when they should be better again, reprimands them for not doing exactly as he says

adolin: would probably kiss and cuddle them so much and end up getting the cold too but he’s just like ”hey it’s more fun this way now we can cuddle even more”

shallan: she’d run around with blankets and drinks and whatever the other needs, kaladin would probably try to pretend he doesn’t have a cold so she’d just stay around him until she catches him sneeze and sends him straight to bed. sits at their bedside to talk until the other falls asleep.

29. Why do they fall a little bit more in love?

kaladin: when he sees the others’ dark, negative emotions, and how they battle them

adolin: when he sees kaladin smile/hears him laugh, when shallan is so straightforward and uncensored 

shallan: when she sees how caring adolin is of her and kaladin, when he makes them laugh. for kaladin, it’s when he is at his strongest, most mysterious moments, probably while fighting - but also literally the opposite, when he’s fast asleep with his head against her or adolin’s shoulder, mouth a little open.

The first character I first fell in love with: Syl!

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Definitely Adolin. He originally just kind of read as a boring dudebro to me, but when he starts interacting more with people who aren’t his father (especially Kaladin and Shallan), his kindness and sense of justice really start showing and it’s Great.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Dalinar, sorta, probably?  I definitely like him less than the average seems to be.

The character I love that everyone else hates: Jasnah is my Favorite, and while she is some others’ Favorite as well, we seem to be a very small minority.  I’ve seen more hate for her than any other PoV character besides Moash (but there’s no controversy about #fuckmoash).

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Can’t think of any; while love for characters can grow on me, I seldom lose it once I have it.

The character I would totally smooch: Jasnah

The character I’d want to be like: also Jasnah,  And Eshonai, probably?  Eshonai’s pretty awesome.

The character I’d slap: Oh, probably Dalinar.  Ooh, or Szeth.  Definitely Szeth. I feel bad for him frequently, but it seems like he kinda needs it.  Also, Taravangian.

A pairing that I love: I’m not super into shipping in Stormlight, but I’m definitely here for Shadolin and Shakalodin.  I kinda want Jasnah to have a girlfriend, but don’t presently see any options that make sense there.  And I ship all the Radiants x Mental Health and Stability, because reasons.

A pairing that I despise: I don’t know of any ship people actually have that I despise, but I don’t like Jasnah/Shallan past Shallan maybe having a crush (which I totally buy, but I almost always dislike mentor/pupil shipping in general).
