So much to report on with three hopes…Sooooo Claude’s dad doesn’t know where he is, he’s the favorite, and Shahid is only attacking to earn enough renown to be guaranteed as the heir to the throne. Shez is a mercenary for him. Count Gloucester’s name is Erwin. He yields his title and makes Lorenz the new count. Holst joins your army. Nader misses Khalid. Ferdinand is acting how Hubert did in three houses if you played Golden Deer. The empire hired Byleth and Jeralt. Alois joins Jeralt’s mercenaries. Lorenz is actually a decent guy Erwin was just pushing a lot of his own beliefs into him. Erwin’s surrender to the empire except it was an act. Margrave Edmund is contributing heavily financial wise. We were right when we thought that it would be Holst fighting Count Bergliez. Only it’s Caspar’s dad not brother. Leonie doesn’t bring Jeralt up every five seconds. There are some supports you can’t view at all though the units have that support level. Holst doesn’t have a crest. Shamir is on your side in Golden Deer. Stuff, especially gifts, is/are SUPER expensive even though you get money pretty easily. Anna doesn’t stay at your camp forever. Gatekeeper is playable. Some units will cost renown after your initial play through. Renown is very difficult to earn and you don’t get a whole lot of it, so I advise against spending it. Swapping out your units from battle to battle is VERY important. Maya refers to Raphael’s sister as that’s her name. Acheron is from House Phlegethon and you have to defeat him. Viscount Siward is a generic npc. GATEKEEPER HAS MORE SIBLINGS THAN JUST HIS TWIN BROTHER AND WAS IN THE CHURCH BAND AND RAN AWAY FROM HOME! YURI WANTS TO GO ON A DATE WITH SYLVAIN WHO MADE FELIX BLUSH! Yuri is stunning. Emile wants to protect Mercie. Judith does if you don’t recruit Byleth. Jeralt says Byleth is just like Sitri. Also Judith and Tiana were best friends.

I desperately need Shahid to show up in the full game and PREFERABLY be playable so he can have supports with Claude, Shez, Hilda, and Lorenz (and Cyril if he’s in Golden Wildfire)

But mostly I just need to know if he’s being dumb or being a bitch about the Claude/Khalid thing because either

he sees a dude in Fodlan that looks exactly like his half-Fodlani brother he hasn’t seen in awhile and who gets along with Nader and doesn’t connect the dots despite being actively concerned that Khalid is scheming something

OR

He went “I can excuse trying to murder my brother for the throne but I draw the line at outing him as Almyran to all the barbarous Fodlaners. But also I have to make sure he knows I know it’s him and also he’s a bitch”

(Shez: YOU CAN EXCUSE TRYING TO MURDER YOUR BROTHER?)

I mean I phrased that as a joke but there are probably going to be issues if Claude gets caught and it gets back that the Fodlaners are holding an Almyran prince (even one that isn’t as liked or respected as the others) as a political prisoner so it might actually be in everyone’s benefit if Claude doesn’t get caught.

Oh and I guess option C (Option A1?) is that to Shahid, Khalid is like perpetually 13 or something and THAT’S why he doesn’t connect the dots. I mean I get it, my sisters are seven and I still think of them as toddlers because the passage of time is just a bitch like that sometimes. It means Shahid is worried about whatever a 13 year old is scheming but given who said 13 year old is I can see why. Like I’m worried about my youngest sister’s political machinations and that only really applies to Monopoly

Shahid may have been a vain lil shit, but he did love his little brother when they were children. I hc that he even saved Khalid from assassination attempts, maybe even accidentally enabling his interest in poisons....also imagine Shahid seeing Khalid with a vial of mild poison: “KHALID NO!” while Khalid is all “KHALID YES!!”

Silly Gacha Battle Ballot for a game that I don't even play (it actually nearly fried my battery the one time I tried it lmao)

I am sure that these will do nothing to deter either the Engage Sweep (which is fine), the Bernie/Dorothea/Hilda Simp Stench Factory (ew), that bizarro fascination with Grima (Double ew), the Waifu du Jour OC (triple ew), or even Sigurd's endless suffering (he probably deserves a top spot by now seriously), but these two ladies did psychic damage to me during my College 1 years and I love them, and I also unironically find Shahid unintentionally more sympathetic than Claude the longer I give myself brain abscesses over Houses and Hopes both.

Someday, you will truly be called "Shahid the Great." Someday...

Okay I'm stealing Shahid few3h and adding him to my roster of Claude Sibling OC's.

From top to bottom: Shahid 31, Sarim 38, Sara 36, Asmaa 33, Sajad 30, Rumaisa 28, Claude 25.

I made the siblings in a picrew before: [x]

And I've had various headcanons for them (and some of them are in at least two of my fics) but I'm hoping there'll be more about Claude and his family past his B support / chapter 8 of few3h before making new headcanons.

Criticism of the handling of Shahid below the cut.

The writers could've had Shahid be just as well versed for war and tactics as Claude. He could've been vengeful. Angry. Instead of air-headed and leading a starving army to die at Fodlan's Locket for the second time in two years. They could've given us lore through him about Almyran education and customs and ideals that were less obvious with Claude, being raised outside of the usual royal custom by a Fodlani mother as he was. Shahid could've had love or hate of his brother, whose whereabouts he discovered or inferred or suspected, instead of being uselessly shocked by Claude's presence.

So I'm stealing the ambitious brat. He's mine now and he's short-sighted but not a caricature of himself. I suspect he was meant to be the eldest but I'm only up to mid-chapter 9 GW in few3h, so I can cross my fingers that this might come up again and either be confirmed or refuted. In the meantime I'm guessing based on his sprite he's not actually meant to be more than 6 years older than Claude, which makes him older only than Sajad, Rumaisa and Claude, which I think works nicely.

I’ve been playing the three hopes demo lately and:

IT WAS HOLST BOIZ AND HES SO NICEEEEEEE

AND SHAHID CALLING CLAUDE BY HIS REAL NAME OF KHALID IS JUST YES ESPECIALLY SINCE THATS HIS HALF BROTHER WHICH THEREFORE KINDA CONFIRMS THAT THEIR DAD IS A BRUNETTE (even tho we all kinda knew that already)

AND FEM SHEZ IS SO CUTE

SHAMIR IS YES

AND ARVAL IS BASICALLY ANDROGYNOUS AGARTHAN SOTHIS

I’m not done yet but I theorize that we (Shez) are an agarthan made vessel to be on the same level as or higher than that of Sothis/Byleth.

AND CICHOL AND CETLEANN IN THE CUTSCENE IS JUST YES AND THE CONFIRMATION OF RHEA BEING THE FAKE NAME AND HER REAL NAME BEING SEROIS JUST YESSSSSS

not done even one route in the demo yet but here's my thoughts on three hopes so far (vaguely spoilery for the golden wildfire route!):

shez is a very interesting character and i adore their dynamic with arval but oh my god i miss byleth so much i didnt think id miss by this much

arval is a little shit and they're fucking hilarious. they kind of remind me of a more irritated paimon.

i'm playing golden wildfire so i haven't seen much of edelgard or dimitri yet but they were both very fun to play as for the three seconds i had them!

claude, however, has fantastic characterization as of, like, chapter 3. he's so fucking funny but very competent and i hope this game makes the fandom remember that he's not just a meme.

speeeeaking of claude. and this is where we get into actual spoiler territory.

i am so scared of whatever they're trying to do with him and shahid.

don't get me wrong, i ABSOLUTELY want almyra content and i am SO glad we had shahid actually saying khalid in the fucking demo!! i just REALLY don't want the game to be "we're fighting the big bad almyrans back!" i want the nuanced relationship between claude and his siblings, his parents, and his country. i wanna see it. i'm just so scared it's gonna get butchered and become horribly racist.

anyway. moving along.

the actual gameplay itself has been pretty fun! i like playing shez, leonie, and the mages the most as of right now, but raphael was also really fun the one time i used him. still getting used to the archers and hilda but i'll get there.

my one real critique as of right now is that it feels very fast moving. things escalated super quickly, and before i even really had a chance to get used to where we were, we were moving on. i'm not sure if this is just the demo or if that'll be changed in the real game, but i think it's worth mentioning.

plot wise, i'm already pretty intrigued! i wanna know everything about arval, i need the slithers lore, and i am hoping for almyra content that's not incredibly painful to me in particular.

the demo has made me even more hyped for the game lmao

I'm curious to know what the jp polling called "blue billy", did they call them, like the localised version "academy billy" or "pre timeskip billy"? Even during their time at the academy, Billy canonically becomes green, so I can see where the salt flaws -

Or maybe B!Billy is IS's way to shit on KT and what they did to Billy in Nopes, this Billy is closely associated to the lizards, has a lizard outfit and lizard hair - even if Jerry is listed under her close allies, B!Billy's most important bond is to Sothis?

And Sothis isn't an evil being who wants to hijack Billy's body, nope, she's just a gremlin who gives new clothes to Billy and loiters around.
