11 days post op. Not a lot of pain from the actual surgery but I'm in a lot of pain because my skin condition is flaring. Also a lot of discomfort from the lump in my neck but no pain. It's just tiring to use my neck and I can't look down. I hope I flare down soon this is tiring

O Descobridor Dos Sete Mares (1983) - Tim Maia
Maia fundamentally changed the music scene in Brazil, introducing modern black music from the US to national pop music, linking funk, samba, and baião, bringing soul closer to bossa nova and opening windows and doors to new forms of music that were not Tropicalist, nor MPB, nor rock n' roll, but were quintessentially Brazilian.
In 1974, he founded Seroma, the first independent music label in Brazil, the label name was taken from his initials: Sebastião Rodrigues Maia.
Many of his songs have been recorded by artists such as Skank (2), Lulu Santos, Ara Ketu, Os Paralamas Do Sucesso, Marisa Monte, Elis Regina, and Gal Costa, amongst others.

first workout after top surgery had me flying high all day
#my seroma is probably finally gone and i just have this one tiny spot that's not healed yet after 6 weeks#(i'm a slow healer in general so it's not unexpected)#i was doing some jumping jack variants during warmup and did feel that a little so i slowed it down#but it felt so good finally i've had this awful pent-up-energy for so long#even after i went beastmode in the woods#also workouts already made me feel a little gender before and now it's crazy the euphoria#i'm sure it'll die down eventually but AAAA I LOVE IT SM (it being. my body. how wild is that)#anyway i visted my family and talked to my brother abt working out almost the whole time#I WAS EXCITED OKAY#also had a fun hangout day with all my friends the night prior so just. i welcome the good mood#anyway i usually do upper focus (before)#but during my 6 weeks break i was thinking i shld probably add core to that#so now i'm gonna alternate core + upper. i did core today#it was actually a cardio circuit + a lower body circuit + a core circuit so i feel like it was a pretty well rounded first go back#i gotta be a little slow with upper body stuff anyway cause that's. the surgery.#also i had raised my regular weights after a while before and. like i know i lost some during my break but i'm loathe to go back down#so instead i'm using just one of my two weights for stuff that's too hard with 2 rn. works pretty well#and i already did this before but modifying certain lifts that are meant for smaller weights to be more stable to work with my regular ones#cause i don't have time to be constantly switching my weights and i don't have enough money for more than 1 set#anyway i don't usually do lower body focus (i skip leg day) cause my legs are very limited use due to some weird joint issue#my arms are too but i don't spent all day walking on my arms so i can usually push them a little harder in workout#ehehehe anyway

2 surgeries, 6 prescriptions, a month of sedatives (in increasing doses), a seroma, an infection, upper GI bleeding, and the dog equivalent of Montezuma's Revenge (thank you antibiotics), but today Riley got her stitches out and the all-clear from the vet!

Help support Gosling! I see lots of horse memes tumbling around, and if some of equestrian tumblr and equestrian peanut gallery tumblr (affectionate) can give her a hand, or at least pass it into other horse spheres of the internet, I'd appreciate it.
There are no graphic images are in this gofundme, just tubing and fluid swelling. ->
Gosling was born June 19th, 2023, a month earlier than she should've been. She was lively but unable to stand, with no suckling reflex. She had a small seroma on her chest, an umbilical hernia, and her legs were contracted. Though two vets came and a feeding tube was placed in her nose to give her colostrum, within hours she was dehydrated and weak. She was rushed to the Marian Dupont-Scott Equine Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia. Being premature, her digestive system couldn’t handle the colostrum and she developed pneumonia. She was kept for a week on IV antibiotics, tube fed, helped to stand, and taught how to nurse. When she came home, she could (with help) stand for a few hours a day and gradually grew more lively, but continued to have high fevers and required antibiotics three times a day. The seroma on her chest continued to grow, until there was concern it might split her skin. A homemade compression vest was made, antibiotics were switched multiple times, and blood was repeatedly drawn, but the seroma never shrank and no clear cause was discovered. At six weeks old, Gosling and her mother returned to the hospital to determine what to do about the seroma, since the usual treatments of compression and time were not effective. The doctors decided that in this case, the best course of action was to put off the umbilical hernia surgery, and lance and drain the seroma. On August 9th, 2.25 litres of fluid was drained from Gosling’s chest. The first week of care for Gosling’s life at the hospital cost 15,000 dollars. Veterinary care at home has cost almost 5,000 dollars since. We have not yet been given the bill for Gosling’s second stay at the hospital (where she remains as of this writing.) The financial burden is tremendous. Please help us care for Gosling through this difficult start. Information: Gosling is a purebred Cleveland bay filly. Cleveland Bays are a critically endangered breed of horse with approximately 1,000 purebreds in the world. Only about 15 foals are born each year, not enough to maintain current numbers. Because of this, fillies are incredibly precious to the future of the breed.

top surgery recovery simulator:
i have scratches from the ace bandage. is this random swelling normal? oh my god they’re gone. man i’m exhausted. my stomach looks weird. i haven’t done anything in three weeks. my muscles are so tight it feels like my chest is gonna fall apart. i have to wiggle into my hoodies like a snake. am i developing a random seroma? i sang in the shower for real for the first time since i was 12. do i even look like a human anymore? i can’t reach the top shelf. my necklace gives me gender euphoria now. how much tylenol can you take in a day? i still have measuring cups in the bathroom. i’ve used up a whole tube of bacitracin. when can i use these silicone things again? i look in the mirror and smile at my reflection now.

What was top surgery and the recovery time like for you?
I spent 10 days mostly asleep, only really waking up long enough to eat, take more Vicodin, use the toilet, and go back to bed. Then I spent the next two weeks bored as hell because I was mostly fine at that point but still off work.
At one point I tried to help a friend bring groceries in from their car and they shouted “NO SIR! TWENTY-NINE STITCHES!”* at me and I slunk back inside like a scolded dog lmao
I didn’t have drains, which was great. I did have a seroma that dehysced, which was revolting. That’s why I ended up having a revision surgery that resulted in my left side looking a bit wonky. I am given to understand, ex post facto, that seromas are exactly the sort of thing that drains are meant to prevent. >_>;;
*or whatever the number was on how many sutures I had at that point

heading into week 4 post-op from my hysterectomy
tldr- it’s not going well. Medical TMI under line
My increased spotting last week turned into bleeding, even after a silver nitrate treatment on a raw edge of tissue on Friday. Had blood gush out overnight and almost went to the ER. My amazing obgyn saw me after hours cuz she was at the hospital doing rounds on Sunday. An internal stitch broke. More silver nitrate, still bleeding, so decided today we’d do a resuture procedure. But first she ordered a CT scan to be done today (Monday). It found a 9 cm sack of fluid (probably a seroma) in my abdomen sitting right over that incision putting pressure there and likely caused that stitch to fail. Much if my bleeding is probably it trying to drain.
Anyway my resuture procedure turned into a drain the fluid filled mystery cyst procedure. Now I have a catheter in my abdomen draining into a bag I may or may not need for a week. I probably still have to be resutured yet too. It literally never ends
feeling pretty low. Could use some pick me ups
