Before he realises that he’s fallen in love, Senku doesn’t initially understand why he thinks about you constantly, why his heart seems to pick up speed and how his stomach lurches at the idea of you with someone romantically.

It’s not like he’s an idiot, we are talking about Senku here, he just hasn’t really had the experience of falling in love with someone.

But he has with science.

So when he realises that the way he feels about you is the same he feels about science, he panics. He hides himself in his experiments and throws himself into hypotheses to try and kill his feelings.

It’s only when Byakuya pulls him out of his slump and encourages him to pursue whatever’s making him like this because “it obviously means a lot to you.”

After Senku realises that he’s fallen hard, he can’t help but want to be around you. He hates it, despises it when he realises why he’s making more lunch than usual or why he’s offering to carry things for you even if maybe it would be better for you to just do it.

“My machine made too many Onigiri this morning and happened to make your favourite flavour, now eat it before I shove it down your throat. You should appreciate the power of modern science!”

And

“Senku are you ok??” “Shush I’m trying to get stronger so I can carry my equipment without Taiju you just happen to have the heaviest bag.”

He would insist on your help for experiments too, loving when you asked him questions and take an interest in what he’s working with.

After a few months of him pining, he makes his move.

It’s just simple really, he takes you out to an experiment sight to shoot rockets and you stay out all day. Once it was beginning to turn into night, you guys walk to the train station, passing over a bridge.

There, Senku stops and looks bashfully to the ground, for the first time in his life unsure of what to say until he just forces himself to spit the words out

“I’ve loved you for months.”

hours after both of suika and y/n who went across to shore to the island where senku and the others were supposed to be. luckily for them ryusui managed to throw suika overboard who was cleaning the docks and y/n who was nearby the kid just in time for the petrification by a second.

y/n stayed behind the island to look for senku as suika went back to the ship to check up on the others and just as night the night falls ibarra and kirisame's group came checking up on the ship making the woman worried about the poor girl on her own in the ship.

"the lab!" echoed through the island.

i recognized that voice anywhere, kohaku! senku and the others must be near. as i look up on the side of the island there they were in a gather with a few people i don't recognized, i was about to ran up to them then i saw kohaku kissing senku...

KISSING SENKU??

i was never the type to be the "im jealous" girlfriend, even before the petrification my relationship with senku is actually great than the usual couples around. that's because he never gave me a reason to over something minor. sure, i may or may not have been a little jealous over the whole marriage thing that was set up with ruri back a few months but that was in the past and now i see this? boy you better have an explanation to this too or i might cut your–

i ran fast as i could to catch up, as i can already see the mobile lab who im assuming suika managed to drive through up to the mountains. as soon as the vehicle stopped they too have stopped their tracks and managed to spot me in my place.

"y/n! you're here! you weren't petrified?" gen asked surprisingly and his eyes went to the leek head whom im not naming.

"nahh ryusui managed to throw me into the ocean just in time with suika" i laughed a little remembering a few hours ago how pissed off i was thinking he has even the audacity to throw us like we're a rock or something but im glad ryusui did managed to save us.

"kekeke somehow i had a feeling you survived that thing though i never expected you'd be here on the island" senku already on my side and had a little smirk on. oh how i wanna punch that handsome face so bad right now.

i rolled my eyes, "course i did. m'not really and idiot ya know." i smirked back.

"good job, you two!" praised senku.

we managed to get out of the villagers hair and went to the underwater cave to hide in the meantime while we prepare in infiltrating the harem and well that includes getting kohaku ready for the act.

"the ingredients are simple!"

"honey, lemon and coconut?"

"ahhh you're making a conditioner?"

"that's ten billion points for you, my dearest!" senku pointed at me as if ive won the lottery.

"you mind leaving me some for my hair?"

and then here's amaryllis having the greatest idea i never would've thought i'd come up with. but men dressing as women? specially senku? i never thought i'd see the day.

"pftt"

"yeah, yeah laugh it while you can honey. you don't know what's coming next for ya." he said while having an obvious annoyed face.

gen however pulled it off but his height was a bit much for an average girl. then there's soyuz, yeah i dont even wanna explain how he looks. and then lastly ginro, well he passed, perfection i might add.

"well that's that. obviously we know who is coming to the harem" i said as i was about to go back to the mobile lab, kohaku spoke.

"we're not done yet y/n, you're next!" and managed to pull me to her side.

"waittt! im not–"

"no buts! come on, you're a candidate yourself if i say so myself plus we could totally infiltrate the harem without a problem if both of you and me work together inside."

"ughhh nooo i don't wanna. too much workkk"

kohaku and amaryllis managed to dress up y/n nicely and while doing so senku's eyes never left her figure and her hair specially. he realized that y/n never actually leave her hair down just like before the petrification maybe because they were always busy working back at the village it would be distracting having her long wavy hair in the way, he only saw her hair down whenever she'd take a bath by the river and whenever she would sleep beside him. amaryllis also put make up on y/n and it definitely just made her even more beautiful and vibrant much to senku's pleasure. he was falling all over again.

"looking good there", he complimented

"thanks. i thought you'd never notice", y/n sarcastically said.

"been a while since i've had make up on too. does it look weird?" she asked worriedly.

"nahh you're good. you're beautiful." he said almost whispering.

"alrightyyy y/n, you're coming with us right?", kohaku asked

"huh? but i'm not really needed there right? hehe", y/n tried to convince her friend.

before y/n and her group went to the harem selection she managed to get inside the mobile lab and talked to senku.

"so i was thinking since ya' know could be a few days or weeks before we'd succeed in the infiltration but i just wanna clarify something." fiddling her hands thinking maybe she just misunderstood what kohaku did to his boyfriend.

"yeah, got something to say before you leave me here all alone?" senku joked still doing his science work.

"i saw kohaku kissed you last night." and went silent, it made y/n think maybe she was stupid to even conclude at that idea.

"ah yeah she did"

"what! why?"

"easy tiger, that was unexpected for me as well, we have to get a distraction from the enemy. gen's fault he included me."

silence again.

"but i guess that made you uncomfortable huh?" she nodded still fiddling her fingers.

he saw this and went to holding her close.

"m'sorry if it made you feel bad, i take full responsibility of how you're feeling right now. tell you what i'll give gen an earful about that and maybe after this whole infiltration thing, we spend time more together after, hmm?" trying to apologize the woman.

"mmm, i see.."

"i understand i just want to know why it had to be done." she said faintly smiling.

"m'sorry if you understood that way. there's nothing going on. m'still yours forever and always" he tried to cheer up.

she then hugged him and he immediately reciprocated. silence engulfing them once again while enjoying the company of each other.

"i love you"

"me to honey. i love you so damn much. i'm yours. okay?" reassuring her and gently pushing his lips into her sweet candy flavored ones.

a/n: i had this ready a week ago, but then i got bombarded with assignments and completely forgotten about it. this is the only completed work i've done so far and i might not have any for next week since project week will be starting soon, so don't expect anything, i'm sorry. hopefully you'll enjoy this one though!

you are part of the drama club, a popular member at that; being talented at acting, and is pretty damn gorgeous also.

senku is the president of the science club, a popular person also; for being a hot nerd.

many thought that you two would never become friends because you two are so different, but you, and senku grew up together making the two of you pretty close. then they started speculating that either you two are dating, one has feelings for the other, or the two of you are hiding said feelings

but both of you denied such rumors.

senku decided to take a break by visiting you at the auditorium. the school is having a play soon, and you're working hard. you told him that the club would be having a dress rehearsal meaning yuzuriha will be there also; she is the president of the crafts club. a little visit wouldn't hurt, right?

as he walked inside the auditorium, he looked around, but didn't see you. "ah! ishigami-san," someone called for him, "if you're looking for y/n-sama, she's at backstage with ogawa-san." he nodded towards the person, and walked off.

just as he was about to call for you, he overheard something.

"come on y/n-chan, just admit your feelings for senku-chan."

'what?' senku peeked through the curtain to see gen, and kohaku standing in front of you with yuzuriha checking your costume.

you groaned, "i swear you've been asking me everyday, and for the ten billionth time; i do not hold feelings for senku."

senku grimaced at the straightforward answer.

gen looked at you with a "really now?" look to which you looked away from. even kohaku, and yuzuriha made eye contact with each other, and shook their heads.

"i think you should just confess." yuzuriha says making you violently shake your head which caused her to almost poke you with a needle. "wait! don't move!"

you stopped moving, "oh sorry," you muttered. "there is nothing to confess!" then you exclaimed.

"nuh-uh, spill the tea sis." kohaku suddenly says with a straight face as both her hands flopped down.

you, gen, and yuzuriha turned to her with a cringed face. "when the hell did you learn that?" you asked with exasperation.

she shrugs, "i overheard the three sisters saying it."

"please don't ever say that again, kohaku."

"i regret saying it."

gen shook his hands, "anyways, just admit the feelings you have, y/n."

"i don't want to. i'll never admit them."

he rose a brow at that, "and why is that?"

"because these feelings are illogical," you let out in a pained voice, "the amount of times he ranted to me about the multiple love confessions he get per week: 'romance is illogical', 'relationships are a waste of time', and then more i can't think of! i also get those love confessions, but i haven't told senku about any of them. i feel bad for those people to confess their feelings only to end up heartbroken. it makes me think that what if that happens to me? i'm afraid of what will happen to us if he finds out how..." you smiled as you placed a hand over your chest, "my heart have always belonged to him."

senku had to process what he just heard from you. is this the rehearsal? he thought the play is an action one which is why kohaku is there; to teach fighting techniques.

"what do you even see in senku?" kohaku asks with a deadpanned look.

you put your hands on top of your cheeks with a lovesick expression, "he's such a tsundere!~"

'oh no...'

"he acts like he doesn't care about you, but he deeply does. he makes you feel appreciated, and wanted. that stupid hair of his is the only thing he can pull off, and those cocky smirks of his! ah~ he's so smart too, and every time he nerds out on anything science, it's just so cute! then if there's something i don't know, he doesn't belittle me about it, but teaches me instead. don't even get me started on the experiments! his hands, and arms make me so distracted that i don't even know what to do anymore. oh my gosh! that one time when he rolled up his lab coat sleeves—i can't ahsbdshjdfsm." then you started type spamming in real life.

gen held in a laugh, "wow, you're down bad." then he smirks, "and kinky. bet you do it thinking of him, huh?"

you gasped, "offended!" you exclaimed as you placed a hand on your chest. "doing that while thinking of someone feels like i'm violating them, so no thanks."

a bead of sweat rolled down senku's forehead, 'alright, let's stop this before things get out of hand, and i hear something far too much.' but before he could do something...

"okay!" yuzuriha exclaimed, a bit red in the face. "please don't talk about those things, just what else do you like about senku, y/n?" she says stirring back the conversation to about senku.

"oh sorry," you sheepishly muttered, "he works so damn hard on his dream. ever since he was little, he already knew what he wanted to do. to become a scientist, and get on the moon. it's just so motivational to see how hard he works on anything science, to learn each thing properly. i swear if the world turns to stone, he'd be the savior of it." you let out a slight chuckle from your joke, "but seriously though, seeing him work so hard makes me want to work hard too. he really does bring the best out of me."

"y/n!"

the three of you turned to senku who is casually walking into the backstage.

"senku!"

you shouted in panic which almost caused you to slip.

"speak of the devil." kohaku says with a sly smile.

"how coincidental~" gen smiles deviously, almost like he knew that the scientist have been eavesdropping.

yuzuriha stood up, "alright, your dress is okay!" then she looped her arms around gen's and kohaku's arm, "we'll get going now! gen needs to prepare, kohaku needs to teach the action team, and i still need to check on the others. bye!" then dashed off.

you, and senku waved off to the retreating trio. he turned to you expecting you to be at least a bit red, but your face held nothing but a neutral expression. as expected, you aren't the ace of the drama club for nothing, but he's pretty sure that you're internally panicking right now.

'DID HE HEAR EVERYTHING? I'M SO EMBARRASSED! I WANNA DIE!'

you cleared your throat, "i didn't expect to see you senku, what's up?"

"am i not allowed to visit you?" he asked with a smirk making you swallow. then he trailed down your dress, "are you a princess for this one? thought it was action."

you smoothen down your dress as you looked at it, "oh yes, and it is. i'm not the lead this time, just a princess." then something unexpected happened.

senku bowed his head, and took you hand while doing so. then he softly place his lip on top of your hand.

your ear turned red, "w-what?"

then he raised his head a bit to make eye contact with you, "i have to greet you properly, right princess?" he says with a sly smirk on his face.

your entire face then turned red.

"what's gotten in you?" you asked as you tried to calm your beating heart. "why are you being so... flirty?"

senku straightened up, but is still holding you hand. "i'm afraid to say this, but my heart too belongs to you."

. . .

he noticed you said nothing, and just continued to stare at him. "y/n?" but before he could ask, you brought your face to him practically smashing your lips onto his. you wrapped your arms around his neck as he held your waist in his.

you pulled away shortly after, "i love you, but don't ever do stuff like that again."

senku lets out sigh with slightly red ears, "i- yeah, thank you."

There was something about the night sky. Something so beautifully isolating.

Where the more you gaze at it, the more it gazes back at you. Reminding you that all your troubles are nothing in the grand scheme of things. That you're just a speck in the great beyond. That you were nothing but an ant to orbiting planets.

There was something so lonely about being with you, silence enveloping you both as only the whipping winds that traveled through the summer leaves were the only thing he heard.

He was so used to being around everyone. Always in the center of their questions and piques. In the center of their battle plans and strategies. In the middle of their joy and laughs. It gets tiring.

So- he comes up to you. Frozen in stone, leaning against a weathered tree stump, knees to your chest and face hidden. Oh, how he misses staring at your face. Eyes full of stars and smile like marble.

He should have unpetrified you the moment he woke up. Should’ve looked for you before Taiju and Yuzuriha, instead of Tsukasa… but, uncharacteristically of him- he chickened out.

Never able to make contact with your stone self. Not once tracing the cracks and crevices of your skin. Felt the warmth of your sun-soaked self as you sat, as you waited for him. As always.

And that's what led to this. Led to you sitting alone under the school’s cherry blossom tree. Weeping your heart out all because he forgot about your date, about the promise he made of finally showing up.

But as the afternoon turned to sunset, and the sun finally kissed the earth of the ground, he had finally realized what had happened- or hadn’t.

…but that was a long time ago.

And a long time has passed since he got annoyed by your constant quips or smothered in your ‘gross’ kisses, and it's definitely been a while since you’ve pulled him away from his work, begging him to take a break and join you in whatever task you were doing. As he now finds himself going days without sleep to simply bring back humanity, to get everyone out of the stone age and into the modern world faster than fate had intended.

But there was something so wrong when he thought about doing it without you. Something wrong about sailing the seas with Ryuusi when you weren’t there to point out every marine life you’d encounter, something wrong with not having you try on Yuzuriha's new clothes, something wrong with not introducing you to all his friends, to eventually be pulled away to someplace private so could shower him in love, just like how you would at school.

He can't have you distracting him with your long lashes, curious eyes, and soft touches. Couldn't stray away from whatever task he had at the chance to humor your daydreams, couldn't stop mid-experiment to make you a gadget.

…

Slowly, he lowered himself so he was on his knees, the sun setting as his fingers toyed with the vile in his pocket. Other hand caressing your hard hair, how he missed the softness of them…

Carefully, he removed himself as one would remove themselves from the fireplace on a cold December night and pulled his cloak off, the one he had Yuzuriha design, especially for you when he thought the time was right.

A huff escaped him as his fingers dug through his pocket again, finding the now heated vile, he unscrewed the cork. holding the yellow liquid to the sun, the chemical glimmering in the vile like how a potion would. Shimmering and shining, the glass creating crystal-like gloss to it as he stood, vile over your head as he started pouring.

The golden droplets felt like they were suspended in air, slowly falling as gravity guided them towards your head.

Breaking his trance-like state, he gazed at the sun, noticing how it tried to stay above the ocean line to catch a peek at their reunion. But the moon, greedy as ever didn't allow it. Wanting to watch the best part of the show as the painting of the sky changed.

He just couldn’t stop staring at it.

So much so that he missed your groggy eyes searching for his as you finally searched yourself out, back cracking from the slightest movement.

“Senku?”

You flinch because of them

Warnings?: Flinching 🤷‍♀️ not anything that should be triggering, more of a hurt comfort type fic 👍

Senku

- Maybe it was because you were too far into your own mind, or it was because things were getting more tense now that everyone was kicked into high-gear

- But for whatever reason, you sure were on high alert

- Senku held out a glass tube for you to take, but he must have moved a little too quickly for your liking because you both froze in shock when you flinch away from his out-stretched hand

- “…That’s new.” Senku says and pulls his hand away. He has a small frown on his face as he tries to read your expression

- He hands the tube over, slower this time, and you both continue your work without another word

- Doesn’t ask to explain yourself, tries to make his own deductions and it comes down to the war coming close

- But just in case that isn’t the reason he tries to reassure you. Before you leave he says your name to get your attention, “I would never hurt you… I hope you know that.”

- Will not get mushy about it, he’s sure you’ll be fine. But a simple reassurance won’t hurt

Gen

- You had just finished up a long day of twisting wire and were finally free to sit alone in peace

- However, that was ruined by a friendly guy by the name of Gen. He always showed up at the weirdest of times

- You both enjoy yourselves by sitting in the grass and talking about civilization before the stone

- That is until Gen brought your attention to look at him. The smallest movement towards your face made you flinch away as if he had slapped you

- It was a tense few seconds until he called your name again, softer this time. You look back to him to see a flower in his hand, he was reaching over to tuck it behind your ear you realize

- “No need to be so tense, dear.” He gives you a sad smile and hands you the flower, gently pressing it into your hand

- Doesn’t press you for an answer and quickly changes the subject, “The flowers are beautiful out here, wouldn’t you ay say?”
