If you tell her about your insecurities, she'll eventually tear up and begin to pour out her worries to you. Summary: After a long day on the farm, you come home to your wife, Penny. Kisses, cuddles, and tickles happen. The end. (An anon asked me for this ages ago and I have finally delivered. I think successfully marrying Penny in my Stardew save filled me with inspiration. Anyways, enjoy!!)

After a long day on the farm, nothing brought you more joy than going home to Penny. As you crossed the threshold into the house, you kicked off your boots and headed to the sink, scrubbing the dirt off of your hands and wiping the sweat from your brow.

You wondered where Penny had run off to, as she was usually in the kitchen around this time. Suddenly, you felt a pair of arms wrap around you from behind, making you gasp with surprise, although it was obvious who had snuck up on you.

“There’s my favorite farm girl,” she said, pressing a kiss into the crook of your neck.

You melted into her touch, a pleased hum falling from your lips. “Hello to you too,” you replied, grinning. You turned to face her, leaning in to kiss her softly.

“Did you accomplish everything you wanted to today?” she asked. It was a question she often posed to you in the evenings. “If not, that's okay. We've got all the time in the world!”

You chuckled at her optimism. “I fed the animals, watered the crops, and did some shopping. Oh, and Sam says hi. We ran into each other while he was heading to work.”

Penny smiled. “Sounds like you were busy! I’m glad you’re home now, so we can relax.”

“Me too,” you said, pulling her closer by her waist. Your fingers climbed higher, pressing into her sides and making her giggle, an adorable sound that you have spent many hours drawing from her lips, ever since you moved to Pelican Town and met the shy, red-headed girl who had since become your wife.

She batted at your hands uselessly. “I said relax, not get all riled up!”

“Maybe I like riling you up,” you replied, grinning.

It was a clumsy dance, walking through the doorway of the bedroom and pushing Penny back against the mattress, still clinging to her in a tickly hug. Her melodic laughter came in soft waves as you manhandled her onto the bed, and then grew louder, persistent as your fingers began to scribble wildly against her sides.

Her legs kicked and her arms flailed, her cheeks turned pink and her smile stretched across her face. She was adorable, absolutely beautiful. Your heart melted at the sight.

As you lost yourself in admiring her, Penny took the opportunity to strike back. Her fingers found your belly and attacked, sending you into a similar fit of laughter.

“You worked so hard today, you deserve a break,” she said. Her tone was not quite teasing, but there was a hint of it beneath a sweet and genuine mask. “Let me make you laugh instead.”

And that was exactly what she did, exploring the sensitive spots she had found throughout your relationship. Your sides and stomach had been obvious places, poked when you were still just friends. Harder to reach places like your underarms and feet came during the dating stage. Spots like your inner thighs and ears came after marriage. She still exploited them all, giggling along with you as she gently took you apart.

It had been a very long day. Your life in Stardew Valley was certainly demanding. The farm, the mines, the quests to fill, friendships to maintain. After a long day, it was always nice to unwind, whether that be with a book by the fireplace, or squirming beneath Penny’s tickling fingers. Either way, your wife always knew how to improve your day.

As your laughter began to grow breathless, the time growing later and your energy draining, her touches slowed and her lips captured yours, kissing you softly.

“I love you,” she said.

“I love you too,” you replied, a giddy smile still etched onto your flushed face.

Penny was asleep in bed promptly at ten o’clock, as usual, but you stayed up, watching her rest. Starting a new life in Stardew Valley had been a risk, but you didn’t regret it for a second. The work was hard, but it was better than rotting behind a desk like you were years prior.

And meeting Penny was the best thing to come out of it all, that was for sure. Slowly but surely, you fell asleep beside her, resting up before another long day.

Haley:

Not the biggest fan, and prefers when people ask before touching her.

Her favourite is handholding, but she also doesn't mind hugs. Prefers fleeting touches, like those you get when you briefly brush past someone.

HATES having her hair touched, not even because she styles it, she just hates how it feels.

Behind closed doors, Haley and Emily will intentionally tease/rile eachother up - this never causes any problems as they're both pretty aware of eachother's physical boundaries. Alex and her will often meet each other in the middle with their physical affection.

Also really likes doing makeup and nails! Let Seb do her nails once, and was pleasantly suprised when they ended up being one of her favourite sets ever! Has a photo on her socials.

If you're friends, one of the first big gestures she'll make is offering to do your nails - even if it's just a clean up and clear coat. Will want to take a photo of them if they turn out cute.

Really likes it, and is quite used it due to being friends with Sam and teaching Jas, Vincent, and Leo.

Her favourites are high-fives and giving headpats, but REALLY likes being picked up. Something about being up that high is really fun to her. Hardly ever happens though, and doesn't know how to ask.

Holds the children's hands when she picks them up/drops them off - and often finds herself in the middle of the children fighting for who gets to hold her hands next time.

Closest with Sam and Maru, though whilst Sam's affection is more general, Maru's is more directed. The pair will often be seen hugging and leaning on eachother as they read books.

Alex is her only friend who realised she likes being picked up, and will offer sometimes when they hang out together. Not close with Pam in regards to physical touch at all.

If you're friends, she'll give you high-fives and headpats all the time, especially when she's proud of you. Will also want to read books close together with you.

Loves it! Unlike her brother, she doesn't share his sensory issues or touch adverseness. Still prefers that only her close friends and family touch her though.

Her favourites involve her leaning on someone, like resting her head on her friend's shoulders, or their laps. Knows a lot about pain and pressure points, so will often be seen massaging her friend's hands subconsciously or helping them with hard to reach knots.

Closest to her parents and Penny in terms of physical touch. Gets hugs from Robin and shoulder pats from Demetrius, when she does something they're proud of. Hugs Penny everytime they meet up, but they're also just pretty comfortable with eachother in general.

Misinterprets Harvey and Sebastian's anxiety towards touch as simply not liking it, so even though they're semi-close, it doesn't happen often.

If you're friends, it won't take her long to warm up to you. Will talk about her day while she leans on you, and if you come over to help out with any of her projects, she'll brush her fingers against yours as you pass her tools.

If she develops a crush on you, she'll start craving your touch a lot more, but she'll also worry that she'll be too obvious and give everything away.

As a compromise, she's taken to surprising you and sneaking up on you from the back whenever you two meet up. Likes giving you a hug then, and hiding her face in your shoulder if she gets embarrassed at all.

Wants to give you a kiss on the cheek right after she gives you a surprise hug too. Thinks it'd be cute if you got flustered.

Leah:

She doesn't really care honestly. She'll crave it occassionally, but otherwise, it's hardly ever on her mind. Pretty casual.

Unlike the other bachelors and bachelorettes, who have a few touches they like to give and a few they like to recieve, Leah is the type to enjoy it because she knows others get something out it. Tends to do to others what they do to her. Out of everything, though, she really likes when Elliot does her braid.

Closest with Elliot and Emily in terms of physical touch, doing eachother's hair, and having fun getting drunk together in the saloon. Pretty casual with the rest of her friends too.

Will go and pet the animals at Marnie's ranch from time to time as well, she mostly likes how the fur feels on her skin, but also how eventually they started recognising her and coming to her for pets.

If you're friends, she'll establish a pretty casual relationship with you very early on. Will keep in mind what you seem to enjoy, and will try out things she knows others like, to see your reaction. Makes her happiest when you're happy.

If she develops a crush on you, she might start desiring that connection even more and go out of her way to see you more, so she has more excuses to touch you.

Emily:

Opposite of her sister, she's very outgoing and friendly, and rivals Sam with how much she thrives off of it.

Loves anything playful, like ruffling up other's hair, or gentle play fighting. Also really likes hugs, but especially likes it when others initiate these. She's the type to stim and sway gently from side to side, so she loves it whenever someone else casually joins her.

She's closest with Haley, though they'll both pretend to hate it - Haley because she's embarrassed that she likes it, and Emily because she thinks it's funny that Haley's so embarrassed about it.

She's also pretty close to her patrons at the saloon, and will often actively engage in conversations throughout the night. Gives Gus a handshake at the end of every shift.

If you're friends, it's safe to assume that physical touch will become a large part of your friendship. She'll often ask if she can tailor or mend your clothes, and will show you round about how it'll look with you in front of a mirror. Gives you a short hug across the counter when you first arrive at the saloon if you're really good friends.

If she has a crush on you, you actually won't really notice any differences with how she touches you. A lot of it is internal for her, like how much she's looking forward to it, or happy it made her feel. But if you're observant, you might notice her smiling a little brighter afterwards.

Really wants to take a nap with you whilst cuddling sometime <3

Abigail:

Because of her interest and engagement with adventuring and fighting, she's become a little jumpy over the years to people suddenly touching her.

Doesn't trust most people to respect her boundaries, but is fine when asked first. Gets annoyed when other's choose to assume she doesn't like it, instead of trying to understand her.

Loves physical touch the most when it's active, like playfighting, or skipping whilst holding hands, but is always down for anything chill too, like cuddling.

Closest to Sam and Sebastian in terms of physical touch, for different reasons. Sam because he also really likes those active sorts of physical affection and can often match her energy and Sebastian because he's the most understanding of her touch-adversity and has a calmer physical touch pattern.

If you're friends, she'll probably start getting closer to you right after Sam does. She'll also playfully brag about you and the cool things you do if you have a close relationship, wrapping her arm around your shoulder, and proudly announcing your friendship to whoever will listen.

Freaks out when she realises she has a crush on you and suddenly doesn't know how to touch you anymore. Takes a pep talk from Sam (unhelpful), Sebastian (somewhat helpful), AND Caroline (finally some good advice) before she works things out.

Pretty obvious that she wants to touch you more after this, and will often make herself flustered and make excuses for it even if you don't point it out <3

• Leah is a big fan of nature, you knew that pretty well. You thought incorporating nature into asking her out would be sweet! The custom for asking people out in this town is a bouquet of flowers, so you practically raced to Pierre's. You planned a cute little picnic for her at the beach, prepared with all of her favorite foods and the nicest bottle of wine you could find.

• You two went at night, so that she could listen to the beautiful waves at night and look up at the gorgeous starts at the same time. Small little candles lit up the surrounding area, placed perfectly for her.

• As she saw the beautiful sight before her, she looked at you in disbelief. “Wow ... this is so thoughtful ... and really, really pretty. This is all for me? ... thank you, this is so sweet.” Her face was flushed a soft pink, complementing the purple in her eyes.

• She couldn't believe her eyes when you pulled out the gorgeous bouquet of flowers. She covered her mouth with her hand, soft giggles escaping her lips. As you went on about how much you enjoyed spending time with her and how much you wanted her to be your girlfriend, her heart was exploding.

• “Of course I'll be your girlfriend, you're just so- ... so wonderful. I'm not the best with words, I'm definitely better at showing you how much I appreciate you with gifts, and actions, and stuff like that ... but I really do appreciate everything you do for me, and I feel the same way you do. I'll be the best girlfriend I can be.”

• She couldn't sleep that night when she got back to her cabin, so she ended up creating a sculpture. It was a small statue of hands holding a heart, representing herself giving you her heart to keep. She delivered it to your mailbox during the night, a small love note beside it. It was too sweet.

• Leah is a smart cookie, so she was suspecting that you were going to propose soon. She had no earthly idea how or when you would do it, though. She was starting to get a little nervous, what if she accidentally ruined it in some way? She was so worried, but when her anxious thoughts got to her, she realized that she would be marrying the love of her life. All that stuff didn't matter if she was with you.

• However, you were set on making this perfect. You had to one-up asking her out, you had to absolutely make this perfect! You thought and you thought about what you could do to make this perfect. You decided to commission for Robin to build a treehouse in your yard. You had the perfect idea.

• You brought Leah up into the treehouse one night, covering her eyes with your hands as soon as she was safely up the ladder. As you led her in, she was beginning to get sick of waiting. “Love, what's the surprise? You're killing me over here!” she said with a soft giggle.

• Uncovering her eyes revealed the beauty of the small treehouse. It was decorated with beautiful vines and fairy lights, a stunning nature aesthetic. There was a pallet of blankets and pillows, along with a projector. There was also a seating area with the most comfortable chairs to eat dinner in. Her favorite food was prepared on the table, along with her favorite flowers in a vase.

• “All of this is for us? ... this is beautiful, I can't wait to spend endless time in here ...” she smiled softly as you led her to the table. Soft, lovey dovey talk filled the air. You couldn't believe how much love she had for you, and how much love you had for her. It was beautiful, ideal, and perfect.

• As you brought out the shining mermaid pendant, tears filled her eyes. She was beyond excited, her response perfectly painted on her face. Your proposal was beautiful, and all she could do is nod as she began to get hysterical. “Gosh- I love you so much! Of course I'll be your wife, I've wanted to marry you for so long ... I'm so excited! I-I was so nervous, but when I'm with you it all goes away because I know ... I know this is where I'm meant to be. This is where my life is supposed to take me, and I'm so glad it's with you, my love.”

• You two stayed up all night, cuddling and talking in your newly built treehouse. A space just for you two, a sanctuary away from daily life. You two loved each other so much, and the rest of your life was about to begin. It was beyond exciting.

Penny worries about you. She made you a straw hat after she realized how long you stay working in the sun, a new flower tucked in it every week. She patches up all the holes and tears in your overalls with threads of your favorite color. And she would stand in your way, insisting that you eat something before doing whatever errand you had planned for the day. She always seems to know when you're feeling tired. She'd wait for you by the porch, with a cool glass of water for hot days or a towel to dry you off on rainy ones. She'd pack you food when she knows you'd be too busy to come home or go to the saloon for lunch. She always makes sure you're feeling your best.

You two spend a day deep cleaning the house once a month. You'd start in the bedroom then slowly make your way to the living room. You two separate the work, Penny would dust off the windows and you'll wipe the glass clean. She washes the dishes and you'll dry them. She sweeps the floors and you'll mop them. And whenever you two would cross paths, she'll give you a kiss on the cheek.

When you finish work earlier than usual, you and Penny spend the rest of the afternoon in the kitchen, following whatever recipe is on "The Queen of Sauce". And whenever you come home late, Penny has the recipe for that day written down on a piece of paper tucked under the flower vase in the living room, ready to be done tomorrow.

You and Penny have a little journal filled to the brim with cut out pictures of furniture and colors from various home magazines. Each page is covered in messy drawings of room designs for your house that you two made in your free time.

She gave you a bracelet. You soon realized it matched her own. It's made of the little emeralds you've given her for the past years. Neither of you take it off.

Penny asked you if it was alright to have a class with Vincent and Jas in the farm. She wanted to teach them the basics of gardening. You happily agreed and even offered to have the seeds they planted themselves placed in the green house, so they never shrivel up when the seasons change. You and Penny take turns watering them.

SDV Bachelorettes’ Love Languages (hc)

When it comes to giving and receiving gifts, Emily is not at all materialistic. She always has gems and crystals ready anytime she feels you need one.

Though she’s a giver, receiving gifts puts Emily over the moon. It’s the thought that counts for her. The fact that you were deep in the mines thinking of giving that amethyst to her rather than selling it speaks volumes to her.

Emily loves spending time with you, even if she can’t commit as much time as she’d like to with work.

Haley is not touchy until she gets to know you better, but once she’s comfortable with you, she can’t keep her hands off you. She wants to hold your hand around town, watch the sun set on the beach with her head on your shoulder.

If you fall asleep while cuddling her, she’ll lazily play with your hair or trace patterns on your skin.

Haley is absolutely showing you off through PDA. You work hard and she can’t believe someone like you would be interested in her, especially since she was so mean to you in the beginning.

She will steal your clothes and wear them, even if they aren’t fashionable. Additionally, she will try to dress you. It’s a very hands on activity where she essentially turns you into a doll.

Haley used to call you a dirty farmer. She feels bad about it every time she sees you’ve cleaned up for her when you go to hold her.

You learn ways to help Leah, such as cleaning her brushes and tools. You organize her sketchbooks for her. She may think you think she can’t handle herself, but once she realizes it because you care about her and want her to be able to better focus on her art without stressing about cleaning, she’s incredibly touched.

Leah likes to spend time together, but she doesn’t always want to be doing something with you. She’s perfectly happy just being in the same space as you and doing your individual things.

Walks in nature!!! Leah adores dates with you that are just taking a stroll through the woods or on the beach.

Leah wants to consider you a muse, like Elliot. She is more focused on nature however, trying to avoid love due to her ex. Things just happen naturally for her, and she finds a lot of inspiration in you.

She’ll ask you to model for her. Maybe there’s a certain hand pose that she can’t quite get down. She’ll maneuver your hands for her to get just the right reference.

Penny — Quality Time and Acts of Service

With her mom, I can’t imagine Penny being very touchy-feely. However, I do see her being really appreciative of quality time with her s/o.

As the relationship progresses, Penny will melt into hugs and cuddles with you.

Penny likes planned out dates, things that she knows you put a lot of thought into. It’s a combination of her two love languages. One of her favorite dates is when you plan a picnic for her under the tree with artisanal goods from your farm. Goat cheese, jams, bread from wheat you grew. The effort put into this date blew her away.

Penny also enjoys spontaneity on occasion. Knock on her window in the middle of the night and tell her you missed her. She’s a romantic that loves the cliches she reads in the library while the kids study.

Speaking of the kids, help lighten Penny’s workload with them by taking them on a field trip to the farm. Tell them how crops work. Let them help with the animals. They’re learning hands on and having fun. The kids will love it, and Penny’s opinion of you will skyrocket.

Penny sees how hard you work on the farm and will often ask if there’s any way that she can help. She doesn’t want to be a burden, so she won’t take the initiative. Bonus points if it’s a job you can work at together. She’ll act exasperated if you tell her that her company is help enough, but she thinks that it’s really sweet.

Abigail is very vocal, so words of affirmation as a love language comes naturally to her.

Abigail likes to hear how you feel. She grew up knowing she was loved, but she never heard it. Sometimes hearing you say “I love you” takes her aback, but she soon grows accustomed to it and finds that she actually loves how open you are about your feelings with her.

Because of her dad pushing traditionally femenine roles and interests on her, Abigail needs a lot of reminding that her feelings and interests are valid.

Abigail loves spending time just chilling with you. Even though it happened early on, she considers your first date when the two of you played video games together in her room.

She loves going into the mines and exploring the woods with you. It’s a win-win situation. You get help with your work while getting to spend time with her, and she gets to spend time with you while doing something that she loves.

I honestly see Maru having a mix of all of the love languages. Maru is also very logical versus emotional.

Maru will hold your hand in public, but she tends to keep physical affection limited to private spaces.

She’s a very dominant person who often initiates things. She also likes to be the big spoon when you cuddle.

When it comes to gifts, anything that could be used towards a project, Maru loves it. She will even consider soil samples from your farm or rocks you dig out from the mines a suitable gift. Bonus points if it’s something she’s mentioned recently.

Because these gifts are used for her work, she also sees this as an act of service, especially if it’s something that you had to go out of your way to get for her.

You also will stick around and help her with her projects or bring her lunch or something to drink while she’s working.

Maru doesn’t necessarily need to hear how much you love her. Instead, she wants vocal affirmation about her work. To her, your support is enough to show you love her. If you didn’t love her, you wouldn’t care about her work.

Come to visit Maru at the clinic and she’s over the moon. Her job can get boring, and she’s likely to talk your ear off. Your visits will have to decrease as Harvey may get upset if she’s constantly talking with you and not doing her job.

Maru likes to spend time with you while working on projects, but she feels like it’s not exactly quality time. That being said, she likes to sit by the lake with you or on the bench near the Saloon. While Maru is talkative, silence doesn’t bother her when she’s with you like this.
