Anglerfish with Glow in the Dark Details - hand-carved brass pendant, etched and hand painted (~1.5” x 1.5”) with glow in the dark resin marking spots where the animal would naturally bioluminesce. . This fish lives deep down in the ocean where it is dark, as deep 1000 to 3,000 meters. At this depth there is no sunlight. The "fishing rod" growing from the female anglerfish's snout ends in a glowing blob of light. At the tip is a small organ that contains millions of light-producing bacteria. The light attracts prey, such as small fish and crustacean, on which the female feeds. Females can grow up to 100 cm, while males are tiny at 2–18 cm. Males also have simplified body features and live as parasites on the females. They have evolved for one purpose only: to find a female and deliver sperm. Males have extremely large nostrils and a powerful sense of smell, which they use to locate females. The females release strong pheromones that males detect and follow. Once a male finds a female, he latches onto her with his teeth and is eventually absorbed into her body, becoming a sperm packet. Females can have multiple males attached at a time. Jewellery really can be art that you wear, and so it should be

Modern technology opens the door to a world of new and fantastic jewellery designs, and almost unlimited possibilities. We are literally able to create small pieces of sculptural art that you wear, and each piece tells its own story. So why be boring?

In my designs I seek inspiration from nature, ancient medieval and renaissance illuminations and ornaments, and the organic curvy styles of art nouveau, adding a modern touch.

Creating jewellery is also about bringing something exceptional and wonderful into the world.  It is all about finding a new and free expression that is not seen before and perfecting its beauty.

When I sculpt my pieces it is a journey into unknown territory composed of tiny beautiful detail in between larger planes. Each piece can be explored from a far, and up close.

As I finish each piece I feel joy and fullfilment and imagine them almost coming to life in their final state. Throughout this process I tell a story in my mind and imagine creating the most beautiful and unique piece of jewellery ever made.
