(He's) Just a Phase – Part 3
MASTERLIST
Word Count: 3.2K
December 1993
Relocating to Los Angeles has been an adjustment for Steve. Seattle was cozier, and he had the potential to settle down there, given the chance. On top of that, Steve made many good friends and acquaintances in a short time while living in the Emerald City.
Steve felt a sense of unease in Los Angeles as if he didn't belong there like many others. He had grown up with a wealthy family, despite the fact he had been cut off, but now it seemed that comparatively, his parents wouldn't have been considered special in any sense in the city. His mind briefly wandered to the Byers family and how they made it in California. It baffled him that Joyce had seemingly found success here despite being a single mother. California was proving to be much more expensive than Steve had ever imagined, yet Dr. Owens seemed to have some kind of influence on their luck. Despite the privilege Steve was born into, he couldn't deny his growing anxiety, especially since California was a different beast compared to Hawkins or Seattle.
Steve barely had time to enjoy Los Angeles as it was. He was busy day in and day out, and most days, he was close to just giving up and living with a void inside of him. However, the moments of weakness were always short-lived because Steve's mind never strayed to far away from the thought of Eddie, especially when the other man was almost close enough to touch.
It was common knowledge that Eddie lived in Los Angeles, and with that knowledge, Steve made it a mission to avoid going out to different bars and restaurants. Instead, he stuck close to the studio he was working for and spent his free time learning meaningless skills. He had been in the middle of learning how to crochet, and it was enough of a hobby to keep him distracted. It also helped that Kacey kept him busy enough as it was when doing his new job.
'You can't be a one-man deal,' Kacey said, sitting at her desk. She was perched on the large mahogany surface, nibbling on the end of her pin. 'You can, but you need a band to back you up. Unless you have invisible hands that can magically play different instruments.'
Steve was sitting on the floor, different pages scattered around him. The pages were a mix of other things, upcoming dates that Steve needed to memorize, resumes of people eligible to become his manager, and deadlines to meet for his debut. It was enough stuff to make Steve feel dizzy.
'I don't think I'm not functional,' Steve joked. 'But putting together a band won't hurt. I can't just play every song with a guitar that's on its last limb.'
Kacey hummed. 'Your sound,' she began, 'Did you ever figure out what you wanted it to be?'
Steve nodded. It was different from what he was used to or comfortable with. He didn't listen to rock music, and he didn't listen to metal music, but he needed something loud because if it wasn't loud, then there was no way it was going to reach Eddie.
'Something loud,' he said. He cringed slightly. 'Sorry, that's vague.'
'Uh-huh,' Kacey said, eyeing him. 'Rock? Metal? I don't think either of them really suits your vibe.'
'What's my vibe?' Steve asked, pulling his scrunchie from his wrist and pulling his hair into a ponytail. He pulled his knee to his chest, resting his cheek on his knee, and loudly yawned.
Kacey hummed, examining him.
Steve felt scrutinized under her gaze and felt his skin start to crawl. Bowie lifted his head up from where he was lying and let out a low whine.
'Can you not stare at me, please?' Steve asked. He looked at Bowie, patting the empty space next to him. He watched with a small smile as the rottweiler came over, laying next to him and putting his head on Steve's leg. Bowie's tongue rolled out his mouth as he looked up at Steve with a droopy look. 'Hi, sugar-plum,' he cooed, moving his hand to scratch Bowie's head.
'Sorry,' Kacey said but didn't sound apologetic. 'Grunge or alternative rock, maybe. Something similar to Kurt Cobain.'
Steve hummed as he absent-mindedly petted Bowie. 'Can we experiment with that before we settle on it?'
'Of course, we can,' Kacey said. 'We can go to a studio and get a producer to sit with us and figure out what suits your voice and message best.'
'It has to be loud,' Steve said.
'Remember that the most important things don't always scream the loudest,' Kacey said. 'You're message won't get across if the public doesn't like you, and for them to like you, you need to find a sound that fits your voice.'
Steve stared at her for a long moment before sighing. ‘When’s the soonest you think we can get in the studio?’
Kacey glanced up at the clock that sat above her door. ‘It’s only 1,’ she mumbled to herself. ‘Let me call Cameron and see if he has a space open today. He mentioned something back, having just one or two clients today.’
Steve nodded, moving his hand away from scratching Bowie. He picked up a few pages with song lyrics messily written. He tapped his foot anxiously, ‘How’s this going to work when I don’t have any of the instrumental parts written?’
Kacey glanced at him, ‘Don’t worry about it for now. You mentioned you can’t read music, right?’
He nodded, ‘Kinda just figured it out. I know a few notes and things, but just enough to get my way around a guitar.’
'That's fine. Plenty of artists don't know how to read sheet music. Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney, Eddie Van Halen, Bob Dylan,' she rambled off a list of names. 'They've made it big without reading sheet music.'
'Alright,' Steve said hesitantly. He knew who they were, but he also knew they were already prominent in the music scene. Moreover, they probably had backgrounds in music, whereas Steve had none.
'Have some confidence in yourself,' Kacey said. She reached over to her phone, punching in numbers that Steve couldn't identify from where he was sitting. He assumed she was calling Cameron to see if a spot was available for him to come in.
Steve pulled his gaze away, looking back at the sheets of paper in his hands. He mouthed the words, taking a moment to process the lyrics. He frowned for a moment, going back and re-reading to make sure his mind didn't change any words on him. He continued making sure everything made sense while he listened to Kasey strike up a conversation on the other side of the room.
He closed his eyes, thinking of the lyrics as he tapped his hand against his thigh, trying to find a rhythm matching the song. He scrunched his face up, changing the pace. It would be easier to hear the music with different instruments, but Steve didn't have access to that yet, and the song didn't seem right with an acoustic guitar. He let out a sigh, mumbling the lyrics under his breath.
‘Sorry to break your concentration, ‘Evie,’ Kacey spoke up, hanging up the phone and pulling Steve’s attention toward her. ‘Cameron has an open studio since one of his clients flaked. Said that we should head there if we wanna keep the room.’
‘Sick,’ he said. He started gathering up the pages scattered around himself and stuffed them into his binder. ‘Will the studio have a piano?’ he asked.
‘Of course, it will,’ Kacey said, pushing herself off her desk, gathering her belongings. ‘Why?’
‘I think I want my debut to have a piano base,’ Steve said, unsure of the technical term. ‘But not in a somber way? Kind of upbeat?’
Kacey grinned, 'You might want to play around with the keyboard then. It's the same understanding as a piano, there are different sound settings you can mess around with.’
‘Well,’ Steve pushed himself off the ground, Bowie standing with him. ‘I might have a debut record under my belt.’
The studio was spacious for one person. It was a bit terrifying, despite Kacey being on the other side of the glass. He wondered if the room would feel claustrophobic with other band members. He wondered how chaotic it would be, given the idea that Steve would even get along with his future band members. On the other hand, Steve knew that Eddie probably found this part of the process exciting, just after performing concerts in front of hundreds, if not thousands, of people.
'Alright,' Cameron's voice echoed in the studio. 'Go ahead and get a feel for the instruments and the equipment, and whenever you're ready, we'll start. Sound good?'
Steve sent him an awkward thumbs-up, clenching his throat and forcing his gaze onto the keyboard. It was well-kept, he noticed. Someone who knew what they were doing had obviously taken care of it. The paint glimmered under the lights, like wet stone or a diamond chiseled into intricate designs. He didn’t live under a rock, but it seemed more complicated despite being smaller than a normal piano. The buttons and settings were probably more intimidating than they really were. It also didn’t help that Steve really knew nothing about pianos. He liked how they sounded, but the last time he played one was in elementary school when his mother forced him into lessons.
He plucked a few keys, listening to the tone. It sounded slightly off compared to a piano, but Steve ruled it out because the keyboard was electric. He glanced at the settings and changed the sound, cautiously plucking another few keys, grimacing at the sound. He shook his head and continued trying different modes until he found one that sounded right. It was almost like the grand piano but sounded a little bit different.
‘Okay,’ Steve said, looking towards the window.
‘Ready?’ Cameron asked.
‘Yeah,’ Steve nodded. ‘I’m still going to have to get used to the keyboard, but I’m good enough to throw around something.’
‘Sounds good, kid,’ Cameron said.
Steve bit the urge to correct him, but he adjusted his headphone on his head, situating himself in front of the microphone, and ran his fingers over the keyboard. He glanced at where Kacey was sitting beside Cameron, and she gave him a wide grin.
Swallowing, Steve glanced to where Bowie was lying, trying to find comfort in his presence before pressing down on the keys and playing a few notes before shaking his head. ‘Can we start again?’
‘You’re the boss,’ Cameron said. Steve watched him move around. ‘You’re good to go.’
Steve repeated as he did before, stumbling along a few keys. The same pattern repeated itself — play, fumble, repeat.
It wasn’t until nearly two hours that Steve started getting the hang of how he wanted the song to be played.
‘Again?’ Cameron asked.
Steve nodded. He didn't bother to look over. He waited for the green light before diving into playing the keyboard. He didn't focus on his vocals, just on creating the song's beat. He nibbled his lip, coming to a stop after a few minutes.
‘That’s it,’ Steve said. ‘I need to add in some strings and the vocals. Then we can put it together? See what we get?’
Cameron nodded. ‘Sounded good,’ he said. ‘Give me just a second, and then we can start on whatever strings you want to use.’
Steve nodded. He looked around the space and walked towards an electric guitar. He hadn’t ever played one before, but it was nearly the same as an acoustic — under his assumption. Eddie had always made playing the electric guitar easy, but Steve wasn’t stupid. Eddie had played guitar for a long time, probably before he moved in with Wayne. Steve had only been playing guitar for two years. He still fumbled around, nowhere near perfect.
He plugged in the guitar, moving his hand to the head of the guitar, adjusting the tuners. He plucked a string, testing the tune before adjusting them again. He walked back to the microphone, humming to himself as he played some chords, figuring out a similar pattern to the piano.
‘You ready?’ Cameron asked.
Steve glanced at him and nodded, 'As I'll ever be.'
Cameron nodded, ‘Go for it.’
Steve swallowed nervously, starting at the CD that rested in Kacey's hands. Two weeks ago, Steve was just messing around in a studio, and now suddenly, he had an EP with three songs that could be his debut. He didn't expect the CD to come in so fast, though.
‘This CD is your future,’ Kacey said. ‘There’s only one thing wrong with it.’
‘What’s wrong with it?’ Steve asked instantly, heart jumping. Bowie nudged his ankle, and Steve tried to calm down. ‘I’m fine, Bows.’
Kacey chuckled, 'Nothing bad, I promise. You just can't leave these songs untitled.'
Steve let out a sigh of relief. ‘Don’t scare me like that,’ he huffed.
‘I’m your manager,’ Kacey shot back.
‘That doesn’t mean you get to scare me!’ Steve exclaimed.
Kacey wiggled her fingers at him, ‘I can do what I damn well, please. Now, you have three tracks that need naming. These are like your children. Name them carefully.’
Steve rolled his eyes. ‘The first track,’ he stated. ‘Hind-sight. I figured that one out already. That one’s probably my favorite one.’
‘It is a good one,’ Kacey agreed.
Steve watched as she wrote on the back of the CD packet, pulling #1 Hindsight on it. ‘I thought that one could be the song I used to debut?’
Kacey leaned back in her chair. ‘If I could, I’d let you do it, but once we name these, I have to give it to Jared. He will sample your tracks to people, and whichever song warrants a more positive reaction gets debuted.’
Steve groaned. ‘Damn.’
‘Sorry, ‘Evie,’ Kacey said. ‘Thems the dice.’
‘That’s fine, I guess,’ he sighed. ‘The third track,’ he continued. ‘Momentary.’
‘The second one?’
Steve closed his eyes, thinking. ‘End of Beginning.’
‘Well,’ Kacey started, writing the rest of the titles on the back of the packet, ‘The EP is officially finished.’
‘Yeah?’ Steve grinned.
‘Yeah.’
‘What happens once the debut song is decided?’ Steve asked, glancing at his lap as Bowie rested his head on his leg. He moved his hand to scratch his head.
‘We release it,’ Kacey shrugged. ‘And depending on how well it’s perceived, we drop the rest of the EP over the next few months. During that, your schedule will start filling up more, and you'll start making enough money not to live out a hotel room.’
Steve felt his heart sink at the thought of the hotel room. He was desperately trying to find a job, but it seemed like every opportunity was ten times harder to come by in Los Angeles than he expected. With Kacey constantly demanding his time at her office and in the studio, Steve could not find a job that could sustain him for long. The only thing keeping him afloat financially was the money from the music record. Unfortunately, they refused him a proper apartment, so all he could hope for was a small hotel room with a bed, hot water, free coffee, and complimentary breakfast. Even though this should’ve been seen as a dream come true, he still felt despondent about settling for less than he deserved.
Kacey was the only friend that Steve had made in Los Angeles, and he soon realized how lonely he was without his other Seattle friends. Even though he had come to Los Angeles with a singular goal, sometimes the longing for home and the people he had left behind overwhelmed him. He found himself wishing for conversations with Robin and his kids more and more often, missing the days when he talked to Sam, Gale, and all of the other people he had known in Seattle.
As the days passed, Steve's doubts lingered. He had sacrificed so much for something that might not be worth it. He cherished Eddie with all his heart — and he would never stop loving him — but a part of him questioned if leaving was his only option. He could have continued to live in this empty state, never daring to feel anything more than apathy. But Steve knew life wasn't worth living without closeness, passion, or purpose.
Doctor Newman had said that Steve only had to forgive himself to heal, but Steve wasn’t sure. He knew he had to tell Eddie his truth in an apology, even if it meant being ignored. The thought of a forgotten apology torturing him fueled an unbridled amount of anxiety. The idea of not being forgiven for something he could not control tore him apart inside. His parents had been the type to never apologize, or if they ever did, it would be empty and shallow. But Steve knew better than most that a simple apology was powerful — it didn’t matter whether it was accepted. It was unheard of, but the hopelessness of letting Eddie know how sorry he was weighed heavily on his mind. He hoped Eddie would hear his plea loud and clear and accept that many truths can lie within an apology.
'Depending on the popularity of your EP, we'll schedule a meeting with a screenwriter to develop a music video. If the script is accepted, we'll start with you meeting a choreographer and setting up a meeting with a director to shoot the video. Then we'll sell the video to be played on MTV,' Kasey continued to speak. 'Music videos push you to the top, and there's no way that your ex won't see it.'
Steve licked his lips, 'What if I don't want to do a music video? I don't really want to show my face yet. Not until I write the song.'
Kacey gave him a long look, 'We need to do music videos, but perhaps we can alter your image a bit. Make you a mystery to your inspiring fans.'
'How?' Steve asked.
'A costume,' Kacey said. She paused, shaking her head, 'A new persona. You'd still be you — you'd just be Evie. We can create a story around your new persona and then use different means to disguise you.'
'Kinda like KISS?' Steve asked.
'Sure, but it would be different. People know who KISS is behind the face paint. People wouldn't know who you are,' Kacey said.
Steve thought about it for a moment before shaking his hand. 'No,' he said. 'I want people to know who I am. If no one knows who I am, everything has been for nothing. I wanted to do this so I didn't have to hide who I was or what I identified as. It'd be against what I'm trying to do.'
'Then why no to music videos?'
'I don't know. I just don't want him to see my face before I can see him in person,' Steve shrugged. 'If a music video is unavoidable, I'll do it, but I have reservations against it.'
'Let me talk to a few people, get an idea of something, and I'll toss it to you once I know something,' Kacey said. 'Because if he doesn't see you on MTV, he'll see you on the front of a magazine or see an interview and connect the pieces.'
Steve nodded, feeling a sense of dread at the thought of Eddie seeing him before he was ready. He knew it was inevitable, but he wanted to control the narrative as much as possible. He wanted to be the one to initiate contact, explain himself, and apologize. The idea of Eddie seeing him on TV or in a magazine, without any context or explanation, made his stomach twist.
'Alright,' he said, rubbing his hands over his face. 'I trust you to figure something out.'
NOTE: Eddie's showing up soon, I promise lmao. I like world-building a bit too much. I have a good bit of part 4 written, which is another flashback. part 5 has an outline of sorts at the moment, it's a skeleton to fill in, and well, Eddie is finally a part of that skeleton. So, hopefully, by Wednesday morning, I'll have both parts 4 and 5 posted. And Steve during the second and third Steve did get a band, but I doubt I'll focus much on them.
Taglist is still open, so if you wanna be added to it, let me know via comment or dm.
This is also uploaded to Ao3 HERE. There's a few-hour post difference. Tumblr sees it first, and yadda yadda.

thank u for the tag @monacotrophywife this took. too long to get around to lol
15 questions !!
are you named after anyone? my govie name no but eve yes! it’s my great grandma’s. my dad’s family has a kind of idk policy where your first name is Yours but your middle name is from somebody else. so my siblings and cousins and i have Original Names (not original as in like mackayleigheey just original as in not somebody else’s already. bc believe me some of our names are BASIC) and our middle names are all from grandparents + further back.
when was the last time you cried? i’ve been on the verge of tears a LOOOOOT lately. and i shed like five tears last week. but like Really cried was like january 11th ish when i moved out. i’ve had this stuffed rabbit since i was ~2 and my parents bought a perfect duplicate like the second month id had it bc i was so attached that they were like. we can NOT lose it and not have a backup (despite this i called both the same name). so i packed up one rabbit to take with me to my first solo apartment as a Real Adult and left one in my childhood bedroom. and that fucked me up soooo bad lol like the idea of here’s kid eve and here’s adult eve diverging paths… anyways.
do you have kids? i fuckin better not
what sports do you play/have you played? soccer, taekwondo, dance (ballet and tap for ~10 years) if you count that, running, a little bit of figure skating but like bootleg (aka my dad teaching me or me teaching myself w second hand skates) uhhhh. i feel like im forgetting something. oh gymnastics when i was very small. they had a lot of like, free/reduced cost sports opportunities for poor kids in my city so i’ve done a lot of things lol. owned a lot of second/third/fourth hand sports equipment over the years. if you’re in america (i cannot guarantee this exists anywhere else) and you’re in need of expensive sports equipment for cheap (or you’re looking to donate old sports equipment!) find yourself a play it again sports they came THROUGH for me and my siblings as a bunch of athletic poor kids
do you use sarcasm? frequently irl. probs less so online bc i don’t feel like it carries very well lol
what is the first thing you notice about people? hair!!!!! but otherwise it varies a lot. my favorite way to interact w ppl for the first time is to find something to compliment them on so i’m usually scanning everything to find like, oh they’ve got cool hair, cool tattoos, funky shoes, a fun patterned scrunchie, whatever.
what is your eye color? i Technically have heterochromia. but mostly green, i just have one solid brown stripe across my left eye
scary movies or happy endings? i don’t like Most Horror in general (tho i do fuck with a psychological thriller or black comedy movie a la the menu or last night in soho) so i’m gonna say happy endings
any talents? is it rude to say lots. lol. painting is probably my most “surprising” one. i can also still passably tap dance despite it being nearly 10 years since i stepped foot in a real studio. speed reading is another one; for some novels (shoutout pratchett for writing the world’s most readable and engaging novels) i was averaging like 550 wpm
where were you born? los angeles, baby. city of angels. la la land. tinseltown. etc
what are your hobbies? i am very good at picking up new hobbies and very bad at sticking with them for very long (until i get reinvested for like three weeks before dropping again etc). right now probably baking is the big one? writing. i’m trying to get back into painting this week actually!! we’ll see if i succeed
do you have any pets? my apartment is unfortunately pet free :( but my family pets are WONDERFUL. i have a dog who is a pitbull-corgi-mutt (so literally picture a corgi butt, legs, and the floppy baby corgi ears, plus a fat pitbull body, skull, and smile), and an orange cat :)
how tall are you? 5’0 on a good day
favorite subject at school? MATH!!!!! god bless math everybody. i had optional math homework in high school and sometimes when i was really annoyed w my other work i would procrastinate by doing the optional math work lol
dream job? i mean if anyone wants to step up and be my patron so i can oil paint photorealistic fabric folds all day… no but uhh what i do rn is my “realistic” dream job. my unrealistic but still technically feasible dream job is sports analytics. and my totally infeasible and impossible dream job is Art.
i’m gonna be honest i am so deeply behind on this that i think everyone has done it already. but if you haven’t and you’d like to, please consider yourself tagged <3

HEADCANONS
Too naive for her own good, Rosie often finds herself pulled into MLM schemes and purchasing makeup ingredients that turn out to not be irritating to skin. She’s started several of her own companies - and then had to shut them down due to bad press or no money. Mary Kay, however, she regularly sells the products of.
Compared to the rest of her sisters, Rosie tends to find herself being more on the quiet side; with about half a dozen siblings, and the youngest of them all, she knows her voice tends to be lost among all of them; that being said, she still considers her family to be her best friends.
Rosie has worked in nearly every shop in Selphia since moving to the city some years prior. After bringing incorrect orders, sleeping on the job, showing up late, not showing up at all…she inevitably gets fired or is more kindly asked to not come back. The bathhouse is the only job she’s managed to keep long term - that, and her various get-rich-quick schemes.
SPIRIT WARRIOR
House: Fraser
Ability: Water Form Mimicry
Rosie has the ability to transform her entire body into various forms of water - in its liquid, gaseous, and solid states. It is nearly identical to her normal form, she simply becomes made of water as opposed to skin-and-bones. Given certain temperatures, she may not be in control of the state her body turns into, and if the water that makes up her body is separated - or in two separate states - she is unable to turn herself back to her original state. Otherwise, she is able to move through other liquids, or even through the air, given that all her molecules remain together.
BIOGRAPHY
The circumstances regarding Rosie’s birth are a bit of an odd one. See, her mother and father at the time were, well…on a break. When looking at the timeline and after doing a bit of math…it would be impossible for the man Rosie has taken to calling to Dad as her biological father. Her youth was spent hearing arguments about illicit affairs and breaks in relationships…while simultaneously being reassured that she was still a member of the family, loved by her mother and father and assortment of sisters alike.
Largely, Rosie has never let the issue of her parentage get to her. Full of optimism, she looks at her mother as her mother and her father as her father, and her sisters are precisely that. Her elder sister, Dorothy, was regularly idolized in Rosie’s mind. Her work ethic to get precisely what she wanted - either fame or a boyfriend - Rosie couldn’t help but admire. Paired with Dollie’s supportiveness and Lottie’s ambition…Rosie saw all her favorite traits in her sisters and tried her best to embody them all.
And the best way she has seen to display all her sisters’ best traits is to be entrepreneurial; ever since her early childhood, Rosie has created dozens of business plans and small start ups. From trying to sell cookies to lemonade stands, she has always wanted to have something of her own that she can proudly display to the world. However…her businesses have not always been successful. Her cookies burnt, her lemonade watered down…as she has gotten older and grown an interest in makeup and design, the ingredients she has invested in tend to cause allergic reactions and the fabric has been itchy and uncomfortable. Her naivety has also regularly gotten the best of her - having invested in pyramid schemes without realizing she has been taken advantage of.
If only there were an easy way to the top; Rosie, a hopeless romantic at heart, spent dozens of nights wishing on shooting stars and plucking four leaf clovers for all her dreams to come true. And one day, it seemed as if it would. While working her day job, a quiet woman approached Rosie and promised she could be given anything she ever wanted. Taught to be wary of strangers, Rosie did show hesitation initially - until the woman offered up a contract. Why wouldn’t she trust someone offering something legally binding? Rosie simply had to help the woman feel beautiful, and the woman would, in turn, make Rosie’s entire life beautiful. All too soon did she realize the woman was a witch who had tricked her; an old customer who had tried one of Rosie’s initial beauty products, which had left a horrible rash on her skin for months, she had sought out the girl who she claims had ruined her life. She wanted to make Rosie feel as ugly as she had.
Ever since signing the contract, Rosie has been cursed. By day, she retains her normal appearance. But as soon as the sun falls, her skin turns to scales and her hair mends together and her tongue starts to slither. Every nightfall, she makes a transformation into, what she considers to be, a horrifying snake monster. She still has a copy of the contract she signed herself into, and is convinced some sort of clue within the contract will make her return to normal. But until then, Rosie has a strict curfew and hides away every time the sun begins to set.

May I ask what else did you already sew? And how did you started? 😁
Of course you may ^^ I love sewing so I'm always down to talk about it!! I'm sorry, this got kind of long xD I hope you don't mind!!
So I started over a year ago. My mom has a sewing machine so I started with her, she taught me the basics of how to use it (how to install the thread, how to change a needle, how to select the stitch you want, how to hold the fabric,...). Then after about two months I bought my own machine because it was a bit restrictive to have to go to her house and everything! The machine cost me around 70 euros, so I'd say it's a manageable investment if you enjoy sewing! But in general if you can't afford it, you can find someone to lend you their machine, or even clubs that have machines available.
I started with very easy things. My very first alone project was just to make little pouches, then I tried a cushion cover. Basically, I sewed two rectangles together and tried to make the stitches go in a straight line (not as easy as it sounds 😂)
Then I graduated to slightly more complex projects: scrunchies and snoods that I made for Christmas. Still pretty easy but with a few more steps.
Then I... went a little crazy 😂 and decided I would try to make a dress without a pre-existing pattern (a pattern is a set of instruction that you have to follow, as well as lifesize representations of the pieces of fabric that you need, I don't know if that's clear haha but it's a guide basically). It did not go well xD it took me and my mom over two months to complete despite being a really simple dress, and I had to ask my grandma for help a few times (she's been a seamstress since she was 16 so she's really good!! But she doesn't want to teach, sadly. The only way she helps is if I go with a very specific question and then she answers me haha). We completed it in the end, but it wasn't an experience I wanted to try again soon lmao so I bought patterns for the dresses I made since then ^^
Since then I've sewn a lot of different projects!! Basically I always try to push the boundaries of what I can currently do, cause at first I wanted to only try things I was already good at (I was afraid of wasting fabrics if I messed up), but obviously when you do that, it's almost impossible to improve. So I try out new things and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and I have to start over, but I still learn something when it doesn't work.
If you want to know what kind of things I made, here's a non comprehensive list
about five dresses (if I could I would only make dresses!! but it requires a lot of fabric and fabric is kind of expensive..!)
one skirt
a few tote bags/beach bags (those are fun cause once you figure out the steps to making one, the others are similar and you can play around with colors and patterns and stuff)
a hair towel
a messenger bag for my boyfriend (a very simple one, though, for gathering mushrooms, nothing fancy)
aprons for a friend's daughter (one for gardening and one for baking ^^ they were so cuuuuute! Sewing for a four year old is the cutest thing kajsjdhja)
A Christmas hat ^^
Right now I'm working on a mobile for my cousin, she's having a baby! So I'm making animals and trees and clouds out of felt. I'm only in the beginning of the project though
I'm sorry I don't have any pictures, it's literally the middle of the night right now and I'm min bed writing this xD
Overall, I'd say you have to be patient and handle frustration well if you want to sew. It's a very methodical hobby! You follow a procedure, you try to picture in what order you have to work for the project to work out. Since I don't take classes, sometimes I spend an hour looking up tutorials for a specific technique and then another hour trying it out on scraps of fabrics, just for one detail in a project. I also bought a few books that explained sewing techniques and stuff, so I spend a lot of time on that, too. Also, the reality is that you don't spend that much time using the machine, overall, cause the most time-consuming part is cutting the fabric, pinning it, ironing it,....
But it's also very satisfying when the project comes together!! And as someone who generally has issues staying focused, I've found that I can spend an entire day sewing and not see the time go by!
I'm sorry this got so long, I saw in your tag you were interested so I went a little overboard!

vs the Expensive Hobby
@scrunchie - Danny
Tumblr media
No comic book store was exactly alike. Some leaned heavily into gaming, and their comic selection was little more than a few sad boxes squished into the back - nothing wrong with that, but entirely false advertising. Others only had the most popular series, with a single shelf hiding any indie series and a nearly non-existent gaming section. This store? Chuck was in love. The perfect balance of comics and other artefacts of nerdery, of floppies and trades, of DC and Marvel and independent publishers.
“Hey,” Chuck said to the guy at the counter, with a smile, “um, you wouldn’t happen to have the new issue of Y in?“ His normal store had a little mishap with their computer and a soda - goodbye pull list. “And the new Justice League, if you’re not sold out yet?”

Comfort Food
Fandom: Persona 5
Rating: PG
Summary:
Akechi has a food blog, Futaba thinks that's hilarious, Akira is a good friend, and Sojiro needs a drink.
Notes:
This was supposed to just be me projecting my issues on to Akechi because he's my emotional support bastard boi but somehow it turned into nearly 2500 words of tooth-rotting slice of life fluff. Whoops.
A03
Goro learned the hard way that hiding things from Futaba was impossible.
To be fair it wasn’t like he was trying to hide his food blog, he mentioned it in passing a few times and he knew that most of his followers were his fans, but he never really expected any of the Thieves to actually read it, let alone read it out loud, in front of him...while laughing at it.
“What are you, a high school girl?” Futaba said with a snicker after she finished reading his latest post aloud, “I’ve seen little girl’s diaries with more class.”
“Oh my god.” Akira choked out from beside Futaba behind Leblanc’s bar, desperately trying to muffle his laughs as Goro floundered.
He knew he shouldn’t care. The Thieves always poked fun at each other. ‘It’s what friends do,’ Akira had said. If anything he figured he should be grateful that Futaba considered him enough of a friend to playfully mock his hobby. But Goro was never good at regulating his inner emotions, and so as much as he tried to not let it get to him, it did.
Truthfully, he never meant to get into food. For the longest time, he considered it a pointless expense. In the various foster homes that he was tossed between food was almost a luxury. And to someone who often wondered where his next meal would come from it was hard to justify the cost of a fancy dinner when the same money could get him a month's worth of instant ramen and convenience store bento lunches.
But when he got into high school and wormed his way into the police force he suddenly was financially stable enough to justify luxury spending. Nijima-san was kind enough to pull some strings to get the agency to act as a guarantor so he could move out of the foster home and into a small apartment, and after he paid his bills and rent he was left staring at the remaining sum in his bank app, trying to wrap his head around how that money was his, and he could do whatever he wanted with it.
He tried to keep a level head and decided to go to a nearby department store to pick up things to furnish his new home, but on the way there he passed a diner and was stopped dead by the incredible smells drifting out the door. His stomach growled, and he found himself trying to remember the last time he had eaten something that hadn’t come wrapped in plastic and styrofoam.
His stomach growled again, and before he had time to think about it, knowing that if he did he would decide against it, he hurried into the restaurant. He was seated quickly, and despite feeling weirdly giddy and anxious he smiled at the kind waitress who took his order. The simple latte and plate of pancakes were probably the most delicious things he had ever tasted, and he couldn’t help how his eyes watered after the first bite, the food filling some empty part of himself he hadn’t even known existed.
Looking back on that day he’s grateful that he wasn’t famous yet, as no one cared to pay attention to the skinny teenager in the booth by the wall trying not to get tears in his dinner.
After that, he ate out at least once a week. He spent little on necessities, picking up most of the things he needed at the ¥100 store and buying used clothes, saving every extra bit that didn’t go into bills for food. Eventually, he started looking up new places to eat, and after finding a few food blogs he decided on a whim to start his own. It didn’t take off until after his big break, but he didn’t mind. The simple pictures and reviews he posted weren’t really for anyone else, and on days when he felt empty and angry, he would scroll back through them and feel a little bit better. Almost happy at the little niche he had carved out for himself.
Shortly after that Akechi’s entire life quickly became a delicate web of lies. He was a double, even triple agent, under so many layers of falsehoods even he struggled to keep it straight sometimes. If anyone ever bothered to break him down to his bare parts there really wasn’t much he actually did for himself. Every single facet of his life and personality had been carefully crafted to ensure he would be able to get the revenge he so desperately craved. He hardly ever did anything just for himself. Every interest he shared in interviews or mentioned around his ‘friends’ was for show, not something he honestly cared all that much about. It was annoying sometimes, having to pretend to care for things he felt apathetic towards, but it was necessary.
But food? Food stayed safe. It helped his Detective Prince facade once he got popular, after all the only thing teenage girls seemed to like more than cute boys was trendy food. And cute boys who love trendy food? That’s a check that writes itself. It made him look soft, approachable, and normal. So he indulged. Actually enjoying sharing the one part of himself that wasn’t fake.
Maybe that’s why Futaba’s mockery stung so much. He wouldn’t care if people made fun of his fake interests, but when it was the real him? It hurt.
He tried to laugh it off, blushing and begging her to stop. He insisted it’s just for his fans, he’s not really that immature or girly, it’s just for show! But each plea seemed to only make the situation worse, so he gave up and silently begged for her to get bored soon, his face an unnatural shade of red.
Akira, ever perceptive, seemed to notice something change in his demeanor, and without a second thought, the teen reached forward and plucked Futaba's phone right out of her hands.
"Hey!" She shouted, grabbing for it.
"Alright, alright, that's enough." He chided, holding the phone just out of Futaba's reach, "We all have our hobbies. But since we're in a sharing mood how about I tell Akechi-kun all about your Featherman shipping blog?"
A chill came over the room. "You wouldn't dare."
"Oh, I would." He turned to Goro with a devilish smirk, "See she loves the red and blue rangers together-"
"Akira I'll end you!" Futaba yelled, diving forward and attempting to tackle him. Akira, however, was taller, and easily deflected her blows.
"She was telling me about this doujinshi she read the other day-"
"I'll spread rumors about you on websites you've never even heard of!"
"It was so romantic-"
"I'll leak your bank info on the dark web!”
"It's by her favorite author too, she buys everything they release-"
"I'll destroy you with malware, you won't be able to BREATHE near a circuit board without getting a virus!"
"Tell me, Akechi-kun, do you know what smut is?"
"AKIRA!!!" Futaba shrieked, and it was quickly followed by the sound of clanging pots and Sojiro swearing loudly from the kitchen.
“Would you two cut it out?” He shouted, poking his head around the corner.
“Sorry Boss, just giving Futaba a lesson on being a good friend,” Akira replied with an apologetic smile.
“Well next time can you do it outside? You’re lucky I don’t have any customers in here right now.”
“You never have any customers...” Futaba mumbled.
“I heard that. And Futaba, I thought I asked you to tie up your hair when you’re behind the counter.”
“On it...” She grumbled, pulling her hair back into a lazy bun with the scrunchie on her wrist.
“We’ll keep the noise and health code violations to a minimum, Boss,” Akira said, shooting a lazy salute Sojiro’s way. The older man eyed them for another second before sighing and mumbling something about herding cats as he turned back to the curry.
With the situation defused, Akira and Futaba stared at each other, having a silent yet very animated conversation, but eventually, Akira seemed to win and Futaba sighed heavily, "Okay, okay,” She turned to Goro and gave him a bow, “I'm sorry for making fun of your blog Akechi-kun."
Goro hardly knew what to make of the display, let alone her apology, but it made him feel a bit better, so he relaxed and gave her a genuine smile, “It’s alright, Futaba-chan, I forgive you.”
“Can I have my phone back now, please?”
“You may,” Akira replied amicably, handing the hostage technology back to Futaba.
She smiled triumphantly before another dark look crossed her face. She eyed Goro, suspiciously, before blushing and tapping her fingers together “A-and Akechi-kun...you won’t tell anyone else about the...shipping thing, right?”
“To be honest...I’m not sure I fully understand what you were talking about,” He replied, “But your secret is safe with me.”
“I’m so proud of both of you,” Akira said with a fake teary-eyed sniff, “My two little introverts, making friends.”
Goro and Futaba broke out in protests, but a quick glare from Sojiro shut them both up.
“Wow, you’ve really got that ‘disappointed dad’ look down, Sojiro.” Akira quipped.
“Don’t you have anything better to do than raise hell in my cafe?”
“As much as it breaks my heart, yes.” Akira said, untying his apron and heading around the counter, “I’ve got a date with a pile of dirty dishes in Shinjuku.”
“You’re not taking Morgana?” Futaba asked as he grabbed his bag and jacket.
“Nah, he hates The Crossroads, says the alcohol smell makes his nose itch. When he wakes up from his nap just let him know where I went.”
“Roger that.”
“Thanks,” He said, “See you guys later! Oh, and try not to get into too much trouble while I’m away.”
Futaba rolled her eyes dramatically, and Goro, still feeling a bit lost, simply shrugged.
“Akira, text me when you get there! You know I don’t like you going to that part of town so late.” Sojiro called, and Goro had to suppress a smirk. Akira had faced down far worse threats than the red light district at night. But it must be nice, he figured, to have someone worry about you.
“Got it!” Akira replied, the bell jingling as the door closed behind him.
Futaba seemed to deflate in his absence, looking anxious. She had explained once that Akira was something called a ‘key item’ that gave her ‘a plus ten confidence boost’, and he assumed that just meant she was shy when he wasn’t around. Goro turned back to his discarded coffee, grimacing a bit when a sip revealed it to be lukewarm.
“Uh, I can make you another cup...it’s my fault that one went cold anyway.” She said, clearly trying to make things up to him, “Sojiro’s been teaching me. It probably won’t be as good as his though. I’m still totally stuck on tutorial mode.”
“Oh, um, that would be lovely.” He replied, “Thank you.”
She started the process, carefully measuring grounds as the kettle heated, “You know, you should write about Leblanc on your blog. You like the food here, right?”
“I-”
“Absolutely not.” Sojiro interrupted, joining Futaba behind the bar to supervise the brewing.
“But Sojirooo! Akechi-kun is popular, you might actually get some business for once!”
“I don’t want that kind of business. Sorry Akechi-kun, but hundreds of fangirls in here every day ordering fancy drinks and asking when their beloved Detective Prince is coming back? I can feel my blood pressure skyrocketing just thinking about it.” He replied with a chuckle, “A man my age can only handle so many loud teenagers at once, and Akira’s band of hooligans already pushes the limit.”
“Don’t worry, Saku...uh, sorry, Boss. I understand.” Goro clarified, “There have actually been several cases of popular food writers unwittingly causing small restaurants to close due to their articles increasing interest to an unmanageable level. I wouldn’t dream of doing that to Leblanc.”
“Glad we’re on the same page then.”
Futaba finished making the coffee, grinning when Sojiro complimented her technique. She eagerly pushed a fresh cup to him, practically vibrating while she watched him take a sip. It was true that it wasn’t as amazing as her father’s, but it was still good and had its own charm.
“You did well.” He said, and he couldn’t help chuckle when she broke out in a wide smile, a warm feeling blossoming in his chest at the sight.
“Yes! I leveled up! Plus five coffee making exp!”
“We’ll make a barista of you yet.” Sojiro said fondly, “Now, it’s getting late. Akechi-kun, do you have dinner plans? I’ve got enough curry back here to feed an army, you’re welcome to stay.”
“I wouldn’t want to impose...”
“Just say yes.” Futaba whispered to him with a smirk, “Sojiro put all of his stat points into feeding wayward teens.”
“Then...yes, I’d be honored.” Akechi said, too confused to be offended by being called ‘wayward’.
“The honor is ours,” Futaba replied solemnly, giving an overly formal bow before breaking out laughing.
Sojiro wasted no time serving up three plates of curry, chatting idly with Futaba as she went to flip the open sign to closed. The two of them managed to herd Goro into a booth just as Morgana trotted downstairs, asking about Akira and demanding food. Futaba poked the poor not-cat a few times while Sojiro retrieved Morgana’s food bowl and popped open a fresh can of cat food.
“Sorry,” Sojiro said, pulling up a chair and making room on the table for Morgana’s dish, “He throws a tantrum if he doesn’t get to eat with us.”
“I do not!” Morgana shouted indignantly, “I’m just too civilized to eat on the floor.”
“Chatty cat,” Sojiro replied, giving Morgana a few chin scritches.
“Morgana is family,” Futaba said sagely, “And a family that eats together, stays together.”
‘...Family, huh...’ Goro thought to himself.
“What’s up Akechi-kun?” Futaba asked, and he blushed lightly as he realized he was staring off into space.
“Oh, I’m sorry, it’s nothing,” He deflected, “The food looks delicious, Boss. Thank you.”
“Thank you for the food!” Futaba yelled before digging into her plate, and the rest of them quickly followed suit.
As the four of them shared the meal, Goro felt the warm feeling from before grow and spread through his chest. Futaba was using her fork to flick small bits of meat at Morgana despite Sojiro’s half-hearted complaints, cheering as Morgana somehow managed to catch every single one. The smell of curry and coffee and cat food mingled in the air with laughter and shouts, giving the whole room a feeling not unlike a comforting hug.
Goro allowed himself a small smile, sure that the only reason he felt so happy was the food.

Early Fitness Deals To Shop Now
Tumblr media
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has historically been every luxe online shopper’s favorite holiday. It’s the best time of the year to restock on your high quality essentials or finally grab those designer wish-list items you’ve been thinking about for months. Even better: Some of the best deals in past years have been on fitness gear. Last year, deals included $60 off brand new Nike sneakers, over $30 off Spanx’s iconic faux leather leggings, and 50 percent off Adidas leggings, just to name a few.
If you can’t wait to shop those deals, the great news is that you don’t have to. Though Nordstrom’s 2021 Anniversary Sale will happen from July 28th to August 8th (starting early, on July 16th, for cardmembers), the retailer already has some great deals on bestselling workout gear and fitness apparel. Some insane deals include 40 percent off Free People leggings and Wacoal’s high-support sports bra, and 50 percent off Alo Yoga’s cult-favorite, high-waisted leggings.
Now that summer is upon us, there’s never been a better time to stock up on some cute two-piece sets and leggings, whether you plan on working out in them or just lounging and brunching in them. Arplis - News: Customized Closets to Keep Kids Organized
When it comes to keeping a home clean and tidy, having the right storage solutions can make all the difference.
That applies to every room in the house, from kitchens and home offices to living rooms, family rooms and garages.
A customized organization system designed to fit your home and lifestyle creates a space you want to enjoy, a place your family can relax and be together, and a clean, relaxing environment thats perfect for both tackling your daily schedule and enjoying a little bit of downtime.
While the rest of the home may have a place for everything, and everything may be in its assigned space, kids bedrooms can often be an outlier.
Childrens rooms are often slightly chaotic spaces filled with bright colors, tons of toys, books, games, activities, homework items, sports gear, personal awards, electronics, hobbies, and more. They represent spaces to play, learn, work on homework, take naps, and store toys and keepsakes, but they also need to be places to rest and relax.
Having a customized place to maximize all those functions can be vital to keeping your child organized and teaching him or her valuable organizational skills, too.
Tumblr media
Benefits Of Custom Organization For Childrens Closets
Keeping your childs room and belongings organized means important items are easy to use, easy to find, and easy to put back where they go for a later date. Having space where a child can hang up coats or sports uniforms, set schoolwork, put toys when hes done playing, or toss dirty laundry when shes done wearing it creates a clean, clutter-free, mess-free space, and, more importantly, a more stress-free lifestyle. Here are just a few of the benefits of employing a custom organizational system for your childs room and closet.
Tumblr media
Clothes And Accessories Will Stay Clean And Easy To Find.
A customized solution will fit your childs needs and lifestyle specifically. Clothing rods and hooks will keep clothing items off the floor and wrinkle-free. Floor racks and lower closet shelves will ensure left and right shoes are together and ready to wear. Pegboards are perfect for hanging jewelry, scarves, hats, pairs of gloves, belts, and ties. A basket for dirty laundry will keep worn items from mixing in with those that are fresh from the laundry.
Tumblr media
Toys And Games Stay Organized And Ready For Fun.
Labeled bins and baskets can hold toys, keeping similar items together for future play. Encouraging your child to keep all the Legos, dolls, art supplies, game pieces, costumes and accessories, and other toys together will go a long way toward a de-cluttered room. Shelves can hold books, knick-knacks, keepsakes, trophies, medals, and awards, and utilizing under-bed or high closet shelves for long-term storage will keep keepsakes and heirlooms safe from the hustle and bustle of everyday traffic.
Tumblr media
Know Where The Instruments Are At All Times.
Young musicians are prone to leaving their musical items in multiple places, making it difficult to grab everything he or she needs on the way to school, private lesson, concert, or event. If your child plays an instrument, have a special place for the instrument, its case, music sheets, instrument cleaning items, and more to make practicing and caring for that often expensive investment a breeze.
Tumblr media
Athletes Will Be At The Top Of Their Game With Proper Storage.
Having designated bins for sports gear, as well as a space to hang up or fold sports uniforms, practice gear, and store anything else that will help you avoid rushing around trying to find cleats, leotards, scrunchies, pads, socks, or any other elusive but necessary item for practice or competition, will also be helpful. Ensure your child knows where to hang his or her sports-related items, where gym bags should go, where to keep gear, and where dirty items should be tossed, and youre going to be set for the next practice or team outing.
Tumblr media
Have A Space For Homework.
The closet is just the starting place when it comes to in-room organization.
If your child studies in their room, set up space where they can sit and tackle the days lessons. Keep pens and pencils in a wide-mouthed jar, have paperclips and rubber bands handy, and use drawers or under-desk cubbies to hold spare paper, office supplies, and art supplies in desk organizer bins.
Create a space where completed school work will go. Hang a hook next to the desk for your kids backpack to ensure mornings arent a mess on the way out the door.
Your children will know where their book bags are, where homework and school items are, where sports gear or hobby gear is. That way, they wont lose any valuable items all of which will drastically decrease the out-the-door morning drama.
Tumblr media
Teaching Children The Value Of Organization
Organization is a living thing. It ebbs and flows with your daily schedule, meaning its easy to keep up some days and can quickly fly out the window on others. Teaching your children the rules of keeping things neat will help mitigate potential messes before they start. Here are a few simple tips to help him or her stay organized:
Five more minutes means its time to clean up. Every parent knows the five more minutes request but instilling in your child that that time must also include clean up can turn clean up into part of the fun. Build the putting-things-away phase into five more minutes by:
Creating a ramp to drive cars into the bin.
Lining a bin that plush material so stuffed animals or dolls can go to a sleepover.
Making sure books are returned to the library and put back on the shelves.
Telling your child that putting away costumes is a time to see how quickly Superman can turn back into Clark Kent or how the fairy princess can become a human.
Turning art supply cleanup into a game by seeing which colors are made when different colored paint water is dumped into the sink, or timing your child to see if she can get all the caps back on the markers in one minute or less.
Give out awards. Simple stars on a whiteboard or magnets on a magnetic board will encourage kids to keep up with their storage system throughout the week. Give stars when homework is placed in the completed pile, shoes and toys are put back in their bins, clothes are hung up or put in the dirty laundry hamper, sports gear is where it needs to be, and more. Set goals for your children, too 10 stars equals a trip to the playground, 50 stars equals an ice cream sundae, for example to encourage them to continue working to keep their lives organized.
Pare down a few times a year. Even the best organizational systems can get overrun when the number of items in them exceeds the available space. Take time with your kids to separate out what they no longer use, fit in, want, or need. Have a donate pile for the items that are gently used, a recycle pile, and a toss pile for those that are broken beyond repair. Keeping only what your children need and enjoy using will help avoid the closet overrun issue and ensure the customized storage solutions you created will continue to be used as your child grows.

How To Be A VSCO Girl? The Ultimate Guide in 2019
Have you ever noticed this trend going on that girls prefer to transform into a "VSCO" style? This girl is called a VSCO girl. Then what is a VSCO girl? To understand this, we need to start with VSCO. That's VSCO as in the photo editing and sharing app, popular for its flattering filters with minimal names like B1 and F2. With no doubt, a VSCO girl is someone whose lifestyle matches the aesthetics of the VSCO app.
Based on the urban dictionary definition, VSCO girls are:
the Tumblr girls of 2019, you'll probably catch them wearing a scrunchie, tube top, puka shell necklace, white vans or Birkenstocks and don't forget the hydro flask to finish off the look
Basically the most basic girl you'll find out there. Common interests include scrunchies, hydro flasks, seashell chokers, and Birkenstock’s.
As you can see, most fashion style comes with a simple idea, be basic.
Glancing through a large number of videos and images, we found that VSCO girls, to a great extent, are defined by their lifestyle including apparel selection, makeup style, jewelry accessories type, and some daily stuff. All the essential parts are considered to be both trendy and basic.
After search and conclusion, we list several things/products that you may need to transform into a VSCO girl:
Apparel: brandy Melville clothing, oversized t-shirts, tiny tank top, jean shorts or some other outfit that is comfortable and less formal.
Shoes: Birkenstock shoes, Slip-on Vans shoes or other plain colored shoes
Accessories: shell and pearls necklaces, friendship bracelets, choker necklaces, multiple rings worn at once and cute scrunchies
Makeup style: Mario Badescu skincare products, natural and light makeup style, Carmex lip balm and pastel nail polish
Daily necessities: Hydroflask water bottles or a cute water bottle, metal straws, cameras, kanken backpacks, and colorful stickers
Electronic: Apple Watch, AirPods or other Apple series products
Life hobbies: loving Starbucks, taking pics beside Jeep, edit the pics with VSCO filters
Tumblr media
The list contains many branded stuff which is expensive for us as you can see. At the very beginning, we stated that VSCO girls are the most basic girls, based on what we have listed above, it seems that this style is only accessible to those who can afford it. What happened?
Tumblr media
Actually, it’s not hard to find the truth. The common products we listed above are calculated and counted from online videos and Instagram posts which are uploaded by hot influencers and YouTubers. Those people lead the fashion and what they have shown to us is the best, most typical and effortless items they could get. So it’s no wonder why Brandy Melville, Urban Outfitters, and Starbucks come to the list.
As a leading aesthetic, back to the point, someone may think VSCO lifestyle cost a lot and require a highly-specific aesthetic, but fashion trends never are decided by certain groups of people. Notably, even you could not afford the branded items above or don’t use the same APP and filters, you are still trendy and popular.
Tumblr media
We also noticed one new and special definition of the “VSCO girls” from some comments which indicate that VSCO girls are, by and large, white, thin, and have enough money to buy the various high-end items the trend includes. While, when we talking about VSCO girls, we see lots of people who are white, skinny, and own all the famous brands, but fashion style is no distinction between poor and rich.
For us, VSCO style is just a present fashion esthetic. You could define your style with your basic belongings. Wearing the shirts you feel comfortable, picking the jewelry accessories you like and taking pics to remember every day you spend, this is your life. Fashion is defined by you, not by social media.
VSCO style girls? Instagram girls? I love the real you. So please be real and be yourself.

Creativity, 2nd March
Today, I tried crocheting a scrunchie. It requires using a new stitch but I don't think that I understood the instructions because my scrunchie didn't look like one. I bought new yarn but it is all made od acrylic. It made me think about the environmental implications of my hobby. It isn't necessary for me to create these things and I generate new plastic and pollute the planet. On one hand, I try to be as ecological in my life as I can. On the other, I still produce unnecessary plastic. A solution would be to buy yarn made of recycled materials or natural ones. However, it's a lot more expensive and less available. I have to think about it.
Learning outcomes:
ethical considerations
issues of global importance
showing perseverance and commitment
