Royal Tiaras Highlights: The Spencer Tiara
Having been worn by Princess Diana at her wedding, the Spencer Tiara is one of the most famous diadems in modern history. The tiara is reported to have been created originally in 1767 for Viscountess Montagu and remodelled by Garrard in the 1930s: the central motif was purportedly gifted by Lady Sarah Spencer to Viscountess Althorp, the grandmother of Princess Diana, in 1919, after which further motifs were added, resulting in the design we see today. In the mid-1970s, John Spencer, the 8th Earl Spencer, inherited the tiara. It was subsequently worn by all three of his daughters at their wedding: Lady Jane in 1978; Lady Sarah in 1980; and finally Lady Diana the following year, in 1981. The tiara was most recently worn by Celia McCorquodale - niece of the 9th Earl Spencer Charles - at her wedding in the Spring of 2018. The Spencer Tiara remains in the possession of the Spencer family.

Mirror: Diana left her mother & sister as co-executors of her estate: The rumor that Princess Anne had anything to do with her estate or was in charge of Harrys money is FakeNews Harry got all of his inheritance @ 30 by u/Ruth_Lily
Mirror: Diana left her mother & sister as co-executors of her estate: The rumor that Princess Anne had anything to do with her estate or was in charge of Harry’s money is FakeNews, Harry got all of his inheritance @ 30 https://ift.tt/PlyGkMe archive: https://ift.tt/tbh1UFr “Frances Ruth Shand Kydd, and sister Lady Elizabeth Sarah Lavinia McCorquodale, were named as co-executors and trustees for her estate. In her will, she requested that nearly all her possessions be divided between William and Harry - and her 17 godchildren received the rest and £50,000 was given to her butler Paul Burrell.” “According to reports, Diana wanted the bulk to be placed in a trust, which she requested William and Harry have access to when they turned 25. But the court allowed Diana's mother and sister to change a few of the will's details. It was decided that the age at which the princes received their share was changed from 25 to 30.” “The items included Diana's iconic 1981 wedding dress, which was to be gifted to the pair when Harry marked his 30th birthday. Meanwhile William received his mother's engagement ring - which he later used to propose to Princess Kate. The dress was made up of thousands of pearls, layers of silk and a 25ft train, and was returned to her sons in 2014 after a global tour.”“The treasured heirloom was transferred into the princes’ possession, alongside other cherished personal items. It had previously been looked after by her brother Earl Spencer and had been the centrepiece of an exhibition, which has raised money for the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. The Cincinnati Museum Center in the United States also displayed the dress for six months.”“Mr Emanuel said in 2014: "That gown has earned its keep. It has been around the globe many, many times. I think more people abroad have seen it than British people. What’s extraordinary is, after so many years, people are still talking about it."Frances Ruth Shand Kydd = Diana’s motherLady Elizabeth Sarah Lavinia McCorquodale = Diana’s sister There’s been a lot of rumors on this sub that Princess Anne was in charge of his trust. Nope. Or that he hadn’t received his money yet. Nope. So, now it’s confirmed he’s had his money since he was 30. post link: https://ift.tt/jyULVSq author: Ruth_Lily submitted: January 01, 2024 at 06:10PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

About George’s names……Did you notice that he was given the first name of each of Diana’s siblings’ first born son in birth order of those sidlings?
Prince George Alexander Louis
George McCorquodale is the oldest son of Lady Sarah Spencer, Diana’s oldest sibling.
Alexander Fellowes is the oldest son of Lady Jane Spencer, Diana’s next oldest sibling
Louis Spencer is the oldest son of Earl Charles Spencer, Diana’s youngest sibling.
****************
William didn’t name his son after his cousins, just like he didn’t name his daughter after his cousin either. That’s just a coincidence. These are just classically British names that are popular in the UK, which also happen to be family names. To wit:
George: The Queen’s grandfather
Alexander: The Duke of Gloucester’s son
Louis: Prince Philip’s uncle
And if you’re reaching that far, you might as well reach for Harry and Meghan naming Archie after Kate’s family because Carole’s mother’s maiden surname was Harrison.

your royal lookalikes series is so interesting to see what features stick in the royals, ive noticed for BRF prince william and harry take after each parent a lot more with William taking after diana with slight hints of George VI and harry has strong resemblance to his father's side specifically prince andrew of greece and denmark/prince philip with slight hints to sarah McCorquodale and charles spencer
i tend to not talk about the kids a lot because of the digital landscape but speaking lightly with a mutual we agreed george resembled george v/charles spencer and strongly favored his grandfather on the middleton side while charlotte is more of the queen/elizabeth bowes lyon and william's side with hints of looking like pippa and louis is practically a boy version of his mother so thats interesting to see some features are still hanging on
omg tysm!!! im so sorry for the very late reply, and im glad that you agree with what i've made! btw i would love to continue making these, especially bc a lot of people declared that they are fond of it

“I don’t understand how Diana’s sisters allegedly offered Meghan the Spencer tiara for her wedding when neither one of them owns the Spencer tiara. Harry, if you need to make stories up at least make them make sense.” - Submitted by Anonymous

Meghan was absolutely never offered the Spencer tiara. Did not happen. Celia McCorquodale, the daughter of Diana's sister Sarah, wore the Spencer tiara at her wedding in June 2018 just weeks after Meghan and Harry married. It was the wedding H&M attended where Meghan wore the bedsheet dress with the toilet paper roll on her head. Why would any of the Spencers, let alone Diana's sisters-one of them being the mother of a bride set to wear that very same tiara in weeks- offer that tiara to Meghan?
Exactly.

I mean Harry is doing something similar right now buuuut I know what you're saying
The only redeeming thing for Harry is that he's Diana's son, not nieces who were 5/7 and barely knew or remembered her before she died. Sarah McCorquodale & Jane Fellowes' kids would have more claim to the Diana piece of cake, had they wanted to exploit that but thank heavens not all Spencers crave limelight
