OMG Zine, Please! #1: #AfterCollege

Check, Please! started with a boy named Eric Bittle, a vlog channel, pies that materialized out of nowhere, and a play like no college hockey team has ever seen before—falling to fetal right on the ice at the thought of contact.

And somehow, that all turned into a thriving community of artists, authors, fans ranging from chill to downright feral, hockey butt enthusiasts, and more amazing people than one can count on a baker's dozen of hands.

Check, Please! told the story of Eric Bittle from Day One on the men's hockey team at Samwell University through to a triumphant graduation.

And we here at Zine, Please! were dying to know...what happened after?!?! And a lot of y'all had ideas. So. Many. Ideas.

So, after months of dedicated work from our admin team and our contributors, Zine, Please: #AfterCollege is officially here!

All of us are so thankful for the support and excitement all of you have shown, and we hope that you all love this zine just as much as we do. A special thank you to our contributors, this zine would be nothing without your wonderful art and fics!

I was cranky and then I got out on a walk in some fresh air greenery and patchy sunshine in my Samwell gear and now I feel better.

Thanks @omgcheckplease for being there when america went to hell in 2016 and for being something wholesome, cheerful and hopeful these last... Has it been a whole 7 years? I have written SO MUCH and made such excellent friends thanks to this fandom!

And the gear is always a subtle smirk 😏 since I live near enough to a hockey 🏒 town. Plausible that someone else might think this team exists in meatspace, and that amuses me.

Ransom: learned all the words to Mo Bamba, despite never listening to it himself

Holster: In Ariana Grande’s NASA heard “Imma need space” as “I’m in deep space”

Shitty: has repeatedly asked what’s that song while saying the title, i.e. “what’s that song that goes, I was just fucked up I was just down down bad?” as well as “what’s the song that goes: Jordan Belford?”

Lardo: cold called Shitty to ask “what’s the Post Malone song that goes skrr skrr?”

went to my first real college hockey game here are some highlights

0- we played colgate so people were banging on the glass with toothbrushes (could so see smh bringing shit like that to games)

0- every save the home student section chanted sexy goalie repeatedly

0- one guys helmet fell off and the hairline chirps were BRUTAL

0- the ref jokes are viscioud

0- i will be going back any chance i get

i just wonder what the atmosphere at faber would be like? would the vibes be positively rancid (in the best way) like this schools? need opinions
