some Sagat Propaganda: Giegue is droning and annoying on purpose… Sagat's Theme is droning and annoying and it's entirely a freak accident that happened while TRYING to make a decent song. Sagat's Theme is worse.

My ranking is
Sagat
Vega (claw)
Balrog (boxer)
M. Bison (dictator)
Sagat’s a cool character here since sf1
Vega (claw) is probably the most interesting in terms of personality, and has cool gimmicks that I’m interested to see how they do in sf6
Balrog (boxer) makes me feel nothing
M. Bison (dictator) is dead, and there’s already a fair few amount of characters with psycho energy, with JP and Ed, so he doesn’t feel needed. Obviously he’s the most iconic character here but like… 99% of the returning characters’ stories revolve around themes of moving on, ryu being free from the satsui no hado, Ken trying to get his old life back, chun li and juri representing moving on and dwelling on the past, etc. etc.. if the guy they were moving on from came back it’d be very jarring. A non canon appearance would be okay I guess but it’d still be out of place if he’s the only non canon character? Idk.

FIGHT ANGEL REVIEW
Tumblr media
Why yes, I am a fighting game buff. How could you tell?
For my first review I wanted something absolutely spectacular, something to really announce myself as a connoisseur of pornography. Then I saw Fight Angel and realized I needed to review this instead. Fight Angel Special Edition - not to be confused with Fight Angel Complete which adds a few more customisation options, is sure to be an EVO event soon enough. Any day now. Released on Steam in August of 2019 and as far as I can tell nowhere else - Fight Angel is a 2D fighting game with 3D graphics that you stick on when Rumble Roses simply isn't enough. The first thing you notice when booting up Fight Angel is that the UI is HORRIBLE. In the settings to turn the music down you must hit left, because of course you do, but when you do so you're brought back to the menu on the left so you must go back in for each notch you want to bring it down. The horrible UX carries over to the character editor of course. The editor is one of the biggest drawing points, being able to make the girl of your dreams and have her kick the shit out of people. You can't navigate the character creator with a controller, the "eyelash style" option does literally nothing, menus just go the wrong way sometimes, it's almost impressive what a mess it is. The options themselves are about as in-depth as you'd expect at least. The anime style is fine. There are… really off-putting models in the backgrounds of the stages though. Some are children too? which. Buddy you should NOT be here.
Tumblr media
My character's name was COOLGALÍN by the way. Leave her alone, she has Alexandria's Genesis.
I played the arcade mode and (a portion) of the story mode in easy - my reasoning was quite sound - oh my fucking god I'm really playing a porn fighting game. The game's mediocre at best. No character really feels unique, there's not a whole lot that's interesting going on. At least you can look at boobs though. …If you download a patch, of course. This game doesn't come with nudity pre-packaged (despite a warning for nudity when you open the steam page). When you try to unequip a characters bra in the menu you're given a message telling you you're not allowed to do that, and the clothes tearing only goes as far as the underwear. So yeah, the game's quite tame.
The arcade mode doesn't offer much. The final boss - the Akuma or Sagat - is Una. I don't have a picture of her on-hand and I'm not installing this stupid game again. When you fight her there's a creepy ambient track playing to show how fucked up and creepy she is, really get the atmosphere going. Sadly, the normal shitty midi keeps looking in the background, I guess they hardcoded the midi into the fights or something. It's also an excruciatingly short loop. Your reward for beating the arcade mode is you get to see the character you beat it with dance. It's not good.
This might come as a shock, but the story mode leaves something to be desired. It sucks and not in a fun way. Rather than a cheesy over the top story, what I expected, it's the most boring and milquetoast thing I've ever had the displeasure of sitting through. Yulia, our protagonist, entered the FIGHT ANGEL TOURNAMENT, and not much else happens. As far as I got at least, my patience was wearing thin at this point so I stopped. The plot consists of conversations between characters in their default poses. The main menu theme is playing. Text unceremoniously appears beneath them. There is nothing else.
This game sucks, dude. There's no love put in anywhere, not for fighting games, not for porn games, probably not for living either. If, for some reason, you do genuinely want a fighting game to jack off to then I'm sure there's some Street Fighter nude mods you could download. They're bound to be more fun and sexier than whatever the fuck this is.
I guess I need a way to rate these games - let's go with these three categories for now. GAMEPLAY: 3/10, it's a bad fighting game. WRITING: 1/10, genuinely would be better if it was non-existent. HOTNESS: 2/10, you can't jerk off to this. There aren't even boobs without a patch.

These drawings are relative to my ghost analysis post for Bullet found here [x]. My two favorite hcs from it being him knowing the ecto-strike ability and is basically the most proficient user of said ability to date.
The other hc is the reason behind Bullet’s malice against Wulf is because he was responsible for his lack of depth perception and those two nasty scars on his back. Hence, why he always wears the cape to cover them since it was an embarrassing loss for him.

Sagat's Theme - Street Fighter 1

FIGHT!
I would recommend listening to as much as you can of each song before voting, but how you choose is up to you! Remember to be civil in the tags and replies!
Propaganda under cut:
Great Bay Temple:
"The most discordant and unpleasant song in an otherwise great soundtrack. Perfect for the most unpleasant dungeon in an otherwise great game! It sounds bad and gives me a headache."
Sagat's Theme:
(none included)
Feel free to add more propaganda in the tags and replies, or send it to me in the ask box and I'll try to share it as soon as I can!

Mr “Speed and Weight” - Robert “Bob” Richards
I dunno if’s Bob’s a New Yorker but he is a happy-go-lucky city boy. That’s for sure. Plus the guy think’s he’s a superhero! So overlooking a festival parade from a tall building for potential trouble would be a superhero thing to do right?

Uncertainty Spacing: The point of walking back and forth
If you have watched a few tournament games and see players dancing around back and forth kind of feeling each other out. Then BAM, Whiff Punish.
So you think “WOW I need to be doing that!” but when you try it in your matches you often find your opponent never does anything for you to whiff punish or you get clipped when trying to walk around.
If I'm honest I don’t think this concept really has a name in FGC lingo, I would say most people just see it as part of footsies. So I am going to give it the name “Uncertainty Spacing”. While the name is new, the concept itself is definitely not and you can see it in a range of other sports.
Use in Sports
Tumblr media
So in baseball there is something called the “strike zone”. If you are not familiar with baseball (which I am also not), the very basics you have to understand is this
If a ball passes through the strike zone and the batter misses or doesn’t swing it is a “Strike”
If a ball misses the strike zone and the batter still swings and misses. It is also a “Strike”
If a ball misses the strike zone and the batter doesn’t swing, it is a “Ball”
Balls are good for the batter, strikes are good for the pitcher. This creates a dynamic where as the pitcher, where can I place a ball to make the batter indecisive on whether he should swing or not. If I teeter on the edge of the strike zone, the batter has to quickly make the decision if he can reach or not, is it worth the risk or not.
Another example is in the sport of cricket. Commentators will often term a bowler having bowled a “good length delivery”. But what does that actually mean?
If a ball is bowled too short, it's very easy for the batsman to adjust and hit the ball across his body (like a pull shot)
If a ball is bowled very full, again it is easy for a batsman to adjust and hit through the line of the ball (like an on drive)
The “good length” is a ball that is in between those two, where the batsman is unsure which shot he needs to play.
Something interesting to note is a batsmen can interrupt this tactic from the bowler either by moving himself closer and make a good length ball into something full, or move back to give himself more room to play across his body.
If that all got a bit confusing don’t worry. The important take away from those examples is that we need to be putting doubt in the opponent's mind to induce mistakes: The uncertainty space.
So let's look at how we can use this concept in fighting games.
A Street Fighter Example
Okay let's look at a very common scenario. The opponent is Sagat who is zoning, and he has to decide between two things.
When should Sagat throw a fireball to zone
When should Sagat use a normal poke to zone
Further range
If the Sagat knows none of his normals are within range, and that nothing will make contact with us. There is danger in getting whiff punished if he throws a normal poke out, so It makes much more sense for him to use a fireball in this case
Tumblr media
Close range
Now we are in a range where a fireball is very dangerous for him to use. He understands that a fireball blocked this close could be punishable, or the long start up of fireball could mean he will be interrupted and crush countered. Normals and pokes to push us back are much more likely and safer to do.
Tumblr media
Finding the Uncertainty Spacing
So with the info we have just gathered, where do we want to stand? Well if we know the two ranges and the options associated with them, by constantly switching between the two ranges we make the opponent think about the two options.
The “dancing” pro players do suddenly make a lot of sense. Now we can see not only why they do it, but where they do it. Knowing the farthest range the opponent can connect a normal will dictate where we want to to be
Tumblr media
As both players walk around, the distance between them is ever changing. So for instance if the Ryu is attempting to manipulate the range by walking around, the Sagat can also do the same to either maintain a good range for himself or get you off the range you want to be. Which begs the question, when can’t he do that?
The Corner
The biggest misnomer about having an opponent cornered is thinking “Yes now I can do all the pressure!”
Although sometimes that can be a good play, the real reason is that the midscreen dance that we talked about before is now in the hands of the aggressor. They control when things happen, and flirt in and out of the ranges that they desire. The player who is currently cornered now has to take some risks in an attempt to an escape, not ideal for them.
Tumblr media
Quick sidenote about the corner: As a new player it can be really tempting to attempt to avoid danger by back dashing/jump back/ or walking backwards away from the opponent. However, you need to be careful that you aren’t giving up space for free. If you find yourself in the corner within 10-15 secs with both of you even in life, it is a sure sign you may be backing yourself up without much effort from your opponent. Find ways to hold your ground on screen (even better, try and back them up).
____________________________________________________
While this concept is quite simple, the idea of overloading your opponents decision making will be a very common theme throughout your time in fighting games.
Think about moments where your opponent needs to defend multiple possibilities with different options. It is an incredibly common occurrence.
What we have gone through today hasn’t even taken into account the other things opponents can do in the example shown: What if one of the players jumps, or dashes. What if the characters have a move that can bypass projectiles, or go over pokes, or change the range in a short time.
There are a lot of layers which can be applied and it's just one of the things that gives fighting games so much depth but this is a starting point.

general terms for groups of multiple genders, now with flags
Several days ago, I made a set of terms for granular multigender terms (plus some terms for multigender-with-partial-genders). There are holes in it (near-entirely caused by my nerdy need to name each one after a real star system, sorry), but my hope is that it’ll be useful. Hopefully, it’ll be more useful with this set of flags I’ve finally finished making.
(A link to that first post- https://kizzyveshkriset.tumblr.com/post/623308668122939392/general-terms-for-groups-of-multiple-genders-by ).
(A link to the basic flag post- https://kizzyveshkriset.tumblr.com/post/623346642389811200/a-five-striped-pride-flag-blue-cyan-white )
The basic flag has already been posted, but its five stripes’ meanings are: - Blue - gender fluidity, by way of reference to the genderfluid flag
- Cyan - xenogenders and other distinctly outside-the-norm genders, partly because stars can’t shine cyan (the proper color would simply be a lighter blue, which doesn’t work as nicely on a flag)
- White - lack of gender in all its forms, whether partial or complete
- Yellow - similar genders
- Red - contrasting genders
Some of its heritage is from prior multigender flags, one of which is from the deactivated @duwang-flags-inc and the other of which I cannot find a source for.
There are a total of eight colors for each flag’s star and seven types of star (the number of points per star matches the number of genders involved, except for two genders whose star is a thinner three-pointed star with the point facing down instead of up).
The star colors correspond to: - Purple - genders of fairly similar proportion
- Orange - genders of varying proportion
- Lime Green - genders of fluctuating proportion
- Forest Green - gender(s) including agender, demigender, or otherwise “incomplete” gender components (by way of reference to the agender flag)
- Fuchsia - genders of varying proportion where two genders are more prominent than all others
- Indigo - genders of varying proportion where one gender is more prominent than all others
- Gray-Blue - genders of varying proportion opposite the “standard” assumption for their proportion (e.g. as modifier for “nanofem” or somesuch)
- Gray-Brown - gender(s) including obscured or confusing components
Most of these colors have a more tenuous connection to meaning- there are just very few colors that work with the already-established colors, so my apologies for that.
This post is already long enough, but the readmore with all the flags is incoming.... These flags are free for use and modification, though I would prefer that if they are modified that any resultant terms stick with the celestial theme (and, of course, I’d love to see your creations- feel free to @ me.)
