this podcast has meant so much to me over the past year. It's the first actual play I've ever listened to and it made me love dnd and want to play it even more than I already had. I am both sad that we're only going to see these characters in one shots, and incredibly excited to see what the next campaign is going to bring. These guys will always have a special place in my heart and I could not think of a better ending for their story

Sometimes family is just an amnesiac robot who’s Mystra’s specialist boy, a monk who was raised by mindflayers and who has a second secret soul that she’s using to summon the ghosts of her ancestors thru anger, the worlds most chaotic ship captain/mechanic who CANNOT stop breaking her own ship, the dad friend/cook who left the ship to get married, the githyanki deserter they rescued from prison, almost the entire previous crew of the ship, like all the mechanic/captain’s former co-workers, a drow deserter who kidnapped the monk that one time but they’re chill now, the monk’s githzerai mentor who cannot stop almost dying, another monk raised by the same mindflayers who has been actively tracking the mindflayers, and the dad friend’s ex-girlfriend/wife. Oh, also the twink and the lion man.

I’m just thinkin’ about 4.8 and just… Dani, Kyana and VR-LA man… the whole episode is just them showing how much they love and care about eachother.

Kyana’s “Let me fix this on my own so it doesn’t come back to hurt you” and “I’ll leave if it makes you safer” and “What do you mean you want me to stay?”

VR-LA’s “I need everyone safe and then I will make sure everyone is okay” and “I will follow you for as long as I can, and once I can’t I will look for you” and “I will talk to a god to find you, and then I will wait at a bench with my staff as a beacon for you to come home to” and “You are not a burden to me, and I will help you, but we don’t need to get our other friends hurt” and “We will leave if it makes you safer and happier” and “What do you want?”

Dani’s “I’m not letting you get yourself killed in a sick attempt to right past wrongs” and “I need to keep us safe” and “I don’t care if my life isn’t what I wanted, if we’re together” and “You aren’t burdens, you just need to talk to everyone” and “My life’s work is this ship, and you are part of that!”
