I Loved You Once In Silence (2023) is like you got people scrambling in a lab trying to create the sluttiest guilt scene imaginable. Should he take off his shirt??? Should we add a harsh top down light over them in bed?? Should we dress them all in white while they lament over the sinning committed???? underrated merthur dynamic I need more of is arthur being smart and court savvy like the prince he was taught to be and merlin smart when it comes to magic only and off the rocks insane horrible at making any sort of decision otherwise the only reason his stuff works due to his inhumane power and abilities

In her youth her mother would read her stories of warriors and maiden. Teaching her light magic for the time when would need to save the one she might come to love. While her father would have her standing on his feet as he talked of war and strategies. Her hair was light almost tinged red when she was young tho as she grew older it slowly changed to brown.

Her beauty was unmatched and many suitors looked her way. But she never held any interest for them nor would they provide anything for her father. So she was free to do as she pleases and with her maidens in waiting she enjoyed taking horse back riding. It wasn’t as if anyone would know of her, her appearance was only rumored those suitors only wanting to claim what very few have seen.

Today though it seemed her casual stroll had been changed to something else. Finding a wounded knight during her stroll and pretty badly at that.

“Ladies stop-!” She speaks firmly startling as apparently they hadn’t noticed and she goes to get off her horse. Most likely they would tell her to not bother him. It’s dangerous to approach unknown knights for you never know if it a trap or enemy but her father wasn’t here and she would be careful with her identity.

“Can one of you grab some water from the river we passed? There’s a wounded knight,” she spoke as she rushes over to the injured knight. Thankfully he was breathing so at least there was a chance tho this might be outside her usual skill level. Maybe he was just some knight that probably got in over his head. If so he didn’t deserve to die for it.

“My lady, you don’t even know this boy what if-“ just as one was about to object Guinevere brushes it off.

“He’s a boy my age that seemed to have foolishly bit off more then he could chew not a threat. Do you wish for me to let him die?” Her voice was curt as she looks at the lady who very much shut up. Not at all wanting to be the one to imply they should leave someone for death.

Still he wasn’t conscious so she decides to use some of her healing magic to fix him up. One of her lady in waiting did finally return so she can use a rag and water to help clean the wound properly. Pouring it over his wounds before fixing him up, if he happens to wake up she hopes it after he’s patched up.

I want a merthur reunion in the future but like -

Merlin hasn't been back in Camelot since Arthur's death, so he doesn't even know Arthur is a ghost and Arthur never managed to find Merlin, although he did travel the entire world to find him until he decided Merlin would come back eventually.

One day, for fun, Merlin and a couple of his friends visit really old ruins (Camelot) and someone is like: could you Imagine if like, the ghost of King Arthur was here?

And Merlin is like: that's proposterous.

And then Arthur comes out of a room, half translucent and be like: the fuck are you intruding in my Kingdom, I - Merlin?

Merlin: ... Arthur?

Friends: *scream* hold up, you know him?

Arthur: I'm King Arthur, who is this pack of vagabonds and what the hell are they wearing? Also, Merlin, wtf? It really took you 15 centuries to come home? Are you serious?

Merlin: you were dead! In Avalon! What the hell are you doing here?

Arthur: waiting for you!

I think the most heartbreaking thing about any of the events in Merlin is that every choice that Merlin is forced to make to keep his mouth shut or say what he is supposed to just works to doom the narrative of the show. He could have changed so many of the outcomes of the story if he would have only said one thing different.

Merlin telling Morgana “You’re not alone in Camelot, and I can help you discover the beauty in this power that you were taught to hate and fear.”

Merlin telling Arthur “Your heart is right about the goodness in magic and we should create the kingdom that I was born to help you build.”

Merlin telling Mordred “You and I are both part of prophecies that are out of our hands but we can work to forge our own destinies within them.”

Over and over Merlin dooms himself to his fate of watching Arthur die. He does exactly what he is told and it ruins him. Every time he is forced to make an impossible decision against his own judgement it ends up burying the knife deeper.
