S/O who speak a mix between Spanish and Greek

❧Sebastian can understand many languages, if not all the languages, so he has no problems in understanding you.

❧When you first did that, he was concerned whether it was some type of illness and when you told him it was just because you were comfortable around him, he felt relieved and happy for some time.

❧He keeps forgetting about you switching languages between your sentences.

❧He gets so scared when you switch languages, because it takes him a few seconds to catch on you.

❧Like you both would just be talking and you switch languages and he freaks out on the inside and he stutters for a few seconds when you ask him something before answering you.

❧He notices that you only switch languages when you feel comfortable around him and when you both are alone.

❧He thinks it’s funny when you try to find a word in one of the languages and you forget it, so you say it in the other languages and how you try to describe it when you forget it in all your languages.

❧All the servants along with Ciel get all confused when you talk in your languages and Sebastian replies to you in the same languages.

❧Since you can speak Greek and Spanish, he will try to speak with you in the languages and confuse you, to tease you, but it’s always a fail because you can still understand him.

❧He annoys the fuck out of Ciel by speaking English and in mid-sentence starts speaking Spanish or Greek.

❧He’s started to catch on your habit and now he switched languages mid sentences, along with you, now you both annoy Ciel by doing this.

❧You have also become more comfortable with changing languages mid-sentence in front of people.

❧So he enjoys this little quirk of you, and now he is also the one who has the habit of changing language mid-sentence.

niki remembers the first time he met you, all toothy grins and scraped knees and brightly-coloured cartoon bandaids—and how, for an embarrassingly long moment, he had mistaken the flourescent lights behind you for the sun.

he remembers how he passed you the tray of cupcakes he and his parents had made for the new neighbours next door and, when he went home, how his father had teased him for offering to bring your family (but mostly you, he resolved childishly) another housewarming present.

the years have long since blended together by now, and you have long since become a fixture in his life: always the same cherry blossoms in the same park on the way home, always the same flavour of ice cream melting down your hands in the summer, always your same reassuring smile, gentle hands, kind eyes.

and one summer, when you brought him home with your hands intertwined, standing just a little closer to each other, smiles just a little wider, no one—not your parents, or rinne, or anyone in your neighbourhood, really—seemed surprised.

(that year, your i love yous became another fixture of his life too, as natural as the warmth of the sun on his face.)

niki feels your foot nudge his ankle from under the table.

"hey," you call, your hand reaching over to take his own. "are you okay? your food is gonna get cold."

he blinks—he squeezes your hand back, first, before a bashful smile crosses his face. "yeah," comes his reply, "sorry to worry you."

you nod, giving his hand one last squeeze before letting go, and he casts another glance at you, his gaze soft and familiar. something warm flutters in his chest, threatening to spill, to tip over, but before he can gather the courage to say it, you do so in his stead—a glance up at him, eyes warm and kind and gentle.

"i love you," you say.

a warm flush goes through him at the words, no matter how many times you say it. niki lets out a little laugh, flustered and just a little breathless, but his next words are genuine, just as they always are: "i love you, too."
