I realized today that I'm part of two fandoms that use the acronym RW for two vastly different things.... So:

To my ASOIAF followers, RW can also mean Royai Week, the week (weeks this year) dedicated to the great ship Roy Mustang / Riza Hawkeye in Fullmetal Alchemist

To my FMA followers (who've never heard of GoT or ASoIaF), RW means Red Wedding, and contrary to Royai Week (that can have its fair share of angst, let's be real), it's not a joyful occasion

This is an aesthetic board I did back in March, and while I know it is the Holidays I sadly don't have anything done for that occasion 😔 I wanted to share this!

My fic “ took my kids? Take my fire.” was supposed to finish this year, but due to some unfortunate things and very exciting busy things, I couldn't finish it yet. My plan is to finish it during January 2024, and then change the date of the chapters to make them seem as I posted them in December 2023.

AND AS FOR THIS PHOTO! The photos are from Pinterest so like, really I am not posting this with the means of stealing or reposting, nothing on it is actually mine- this is aesthetic of Roy and Riza’s wedding 😏❤️

Roy is a flower nerd, so he always likes filling the burn areas on Riza’s back with flower drawings. She just lays down and sleeps as he draws on her 🥹

Riza’s earrings are their engagement ring. Roy was broke and young when he proposed to her before Ishavl ( they broke up I think.) so he was surprised to see her still wearing the same earrings he gave her when they met again.

Roy and Riza eloped in secret, and their wedding bands are either on necklaces under their shirts or I saw someone say that Riza has a bracelet and Roy had a necklace as their wedding band which I also love so much

I love royai art so much but every time it's like their wedding or they're on a date or married with a kid it's like. That has to be an au to me. That is a Different Universe where those people are even remotely normal about each other. Idk what has to change about the timeline to allow that but it ain't the main fmab canon that's not my king

i've been thinking about royai wedding lately ^__^ i'm not a royai marriage guy usually, but thinking about riza smiling so big and being so radiant makes me happy...! roy being the bigger romantic was the one who wanted the ceremony, and riza doesn't hate the idea but she's much more practical... a part of her thinks it can be a waste of time and money, since getting to be with roy is enough for her...! so she looks indifferent during the whole preparation, but when she's on the altar realization that she's marrying roy finally hits, and all the feelings crash on her at once and she can't stop herself from crying _(:3 」∠ )_ it's embarrassing to be vulnerable like that in front of so many people, but roy is there to ground her... and she decides she can let herself have that on this special day...!

i'm also thinking about transmasc riza but that's a constant. whenever i'm too frustrated about gender i throw all the feelings at him lol i want him to feel frustrated and insecure, but managing it with roy's support who may not understand what riza feels fully but will do everything in his power to make his beloved lieutenant feel better because he loves him in any shape and form...!

Royai fic recommendations in honor of Royai Week 2023!

Just wanted to share some of my all-time favorite complete M and E-rated Royai fics on AO3 ever since getting into the fandom last May 2021. I have a very specific taste (??) in how I envision Royai’s dynamic when they get together, and these fics personally just NAILED it. Like I cannot stress enough how every Royai fan should read these! Without further ado...

Starve the Ego, Feed the Soul by onthearrow (95k words, E)

“Something has changed between them since the Promised Day.”

This has to be my all-time favorite. Like it’s a bit insane how good this fic is. Roy and Riza pining for each other ... in the most pathetic horny manner. Also the smut here... will leave you a bit gagged, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before. The author definitely did not hold back LMAO. So many moments in this fic where I had to put my phone down a bit just because I was so 😳😳😳 They have two complete Royai fics (including this one) and there’s one on the way for Royai Week 2023. I recommend to read all of it.

The buildup, the context of being after a wedding.. the amount of flirting beforehand..like I know they were gonna fuck but the banter actually made me say OMG JUST FUCK!!! A sweet lil’ one shot that makes you want more.

It’s basically a faster retelling of the events of FMAB except it’s entirely in Royai POV where they’re crushing and horny for each other (to specifically TASTE each other). This fic also would have an award if I gave out an award for Most Reread First Kiss, because yes it was THAT good.

greatest hits of 2023 🥳✨ happy hogmanay!

1. i celebrated my 30th birthday and got thoroughly spoiled. my sister took me to belfast. we saw the sights and got hoolit, having a blast!! i hosted a joint housewarming (a year later hahaha) and 30th w the fam at my wee hoose too and it was braw too 🥰

2. i took part in nano and doubled my word count for my own original novel!! i picked it up again after months of it sitting collecting dust and thanks to the discord homies i was able to keep on top of it, stay motivated, and get excited about it again!! forever grateful for that 🩷

3. i took a scary step and left a job i'd been in for 10 years (majority of it spent unhappy in it hahaha but thanks to work besties i endured 😤🩷) and got a new one!!!! it is something completely different and much more challenging and enjoyable (and more pay 😌✌️). love it

4. lots and lots of reading!! i managed to squeeze in one more book today to hit 100 books read this year!! i went on so many adventures it was so much fun!!

5. lots of excellent holidays. we went to loch tay, aviemore, isle of harris, and the isle of skye. lots of adventures were had!

6. my sister got engaged!! i was such a proud big sister and couldn't be happier for the two of them 🩷

7. my sister picked me as her maid of honour for her wedding and i legit cried when she told me hahahaha but i'm so happy!! looking forward to it 🥰

8. my bestie and i are keeping going strong w our the x files podcast, which mainly involves us screeching over msr. we have the best laughs and so much fun. we're getting close to almost half way through season 2!

9. new kitchen!!!! i bought and picked out a new kitchen for my wee flat and it's getting installed next week. buzzing to finally having a working oven hahaha and creating a wee place which is all me 💚

10. 2 months into my new home, at the start of the year, i hosted a hen night for my cousin in my house and it was a hit! i was so pleased w my hosting abilities haha

honourable mention - that random few weeks where i did "pizza and prosecco fridays" hahahaha where i got a create your own pizza from the shops for my tea and a wee bottle of prosecco (enough for only 1 glass) and challenged myself to write a royai oneshot in that evening. it got me write back into writing for royai which was exciting!! and i had never truly appreciated the reality of finally working a mon -fri, 9-5 job until then. it was delightful in the longer evenings 🥰
