Third From the Son - Chapter 38

“No. Tell me. I’m the one who has to deal with the things you do, you owe it to at least tell me what they are.”

It’s a cruel thing he’s doing, but he doesn’t care. This is suddenly everything to him, a truth he needs to unveil before he can rest. Donatello Hamato is dead, gone from this world. His bones rested at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and are dissolving into salt even now. He lived and died a nobody whose name will be lost in a hundred years; he and Galois shared nothing but a base turtle species and a penchant for purple.

Yet Galois feels like he’s linked to him. Not linked, bound. He feels as if there are still steel cuffs shackled to his wrists, with the other ends wrapped around Donatello’s. Every move he makes, every thought in his mind, Donatello is there. Yet Donatello is dead, and Galois is chained to a corpse, but the chains bind him still. They control his movements, pull at him, weigh him down.

And Galois has tried to keep his head above it all, but the truth is he is drowning."

Congrats to Author @faiakishi for finishing their second book! May your winter break be wonderful. I have just read the last chapter and oh boy it was everything I could have hoped for and more.

Someone convince me to read "Third From the Son"

Because I read "Dawning of the Hour" a year ago and was so ... stunned? shocked? devastated? afterwards that I didn't even realize there was another part until later.

And I gotta know before jumping back in: how bad is the emotional whiplash?

Is it worth it? Is all the pain worth it?

So, I was reading Third From the Son, DOTH, by Faiakishi, and I got to that infamous moment where Galois yells at Leo about his brother being dead and being consumed by crabs at the bottom of the ocean. If in itself the scene of him on the verge of a mental breakdown due to the sadness, confusion and guilt (among other emotions) that thinking about Donatello causes him and his ending brought me strong images, this definitely cements them. As is my custom, I had to use my older sibling's cell phone to draw.

I did my best, don't strangle me too hard. I tried!

I really like this work and its construction, not only of characters, but of worlds. I had made other drawings before, but I didn't dare to upload them. hope you like.

I GENUINELY CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS CHAPTER AND HATE IT AT THE SAME TIME

(i am pro hamato as of right now, just because of what draxum said and did to leo last time and because draxum is an idiot if he thinks it's a good idea to bring gale out after what happened, but i digress)

(as much as i love leo, though, that love will only extend so far. i am almost 50/50 with hamato/draxum because of the way they treated gale YES I KNOW THEY HAD TO BUT STILL, COME ON)

(also, is it just me or does anyone feel like gale is reaching potentials that he hasn't when he was with the hamatos? like, would DONNIE have been able to get out like that?? i'm not so sure..)

(basically, if draxum is nice to gale more, i'll be completely back on team draxum)

basically, i have SUCH MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT THIS RIGHT NOW because gale is freaked out so much that he's literally sobbing and that's because of the hamatos. i think when draxum went sicko mode on leo, he kinda broke the last bit of leo's morals and ethics. i think they should figure out how gale lost his memories first, find out how to fix that, THEN kidnap if they absolutely have to.

i wonder, though, if once gale DOES get his memories back, will he struggle between what's real and fake? what's him and what's gale? this fic actually makes me giggle and kick my legs fr

I swear to Pizza Supreme that I remember a scene in DotH where Galois builds a robotic Oozesquito, but upon a reread I cannot find it and can only surmise that I dreamed up the entire scene.

Anyway I got excited about painting metals last night and then passed out. Have a perfectly well-adjusted and definitely not traumatized little science man. And here’s an aesthetic board because that’s originally what I drew this for lol
