On Saturday I fished the air ambulance match on the River Stour again, a superbly organised match and I’ve had a really enjoyable day catching roach, perch, gudgeon, rudd, bleak and dace on maggots, casters and pinkies over Bait-Tech Peo Nat Extra and Dark. When the scales got to the chap on my left, a certain Des Shipp and Gappy Parr were leading the section with 5lb 12oz, my neighbour had the same weight and then I weighed……5lb 12oz so there was a four way tie for the section! Canterbury is full of so many interesting, beautiful and historic old buildings. So many streets of Canterbury are literally like walking back into a time gone by. One of my favourite buildings was The Old Weavers House which overlooks the River Stour. We were told a lot of its rich history during a walking tour. Two matches to catch up on, Saturday I fished the air ambulance match on the River Stour. A superbly organised match, I caught quite well for the first two hours to weigh 4lb 13oz which won the section and £50. Sunday it was Bobs memorial match at Dillington, it’s rod only and I had an enjoyable match on the waggler catching 82 fish (roach, perch and rudd) for 6lb 3oz and another section win. The anglers raised a brilliant £90 for Dementia UK. Steve Bishop won with an excellent 12lb 12oz. Flatford Mill . Suffolk Credit @british Hidden Flatford Mill is a Grade I listed watermill on the River Stour at Flatford in East Bergholt, Suffolk, England. According to the date-stone the mill was built in 1733, but some of the structure may be earlier. Attached to the mill is a 17th-century miller's cottage which is also Grade I listed. The property is in Dedham Vale, a typically English rural landscape. The mill was owned by the artist John Constable's father and is noted, along with its immediate surroundings as the location for many of Constable's works. It is referred to in the title of one of his most iconic paintings, Flatford Mill (Scene on a Navigable River), and mentioned in the title or is the subject of several others including: Flatford Mill from a lock on the river Stour; Flatford Mill from the lock (A water mill); The Lock.
