First 3 minutes is Link talking with his grandparents on the yellow flower couch by their desks, then Rhett and Link move to the other part of the basement with the green screen and the infamous green card table.

Rhett limps around, because of a back injury from recording a music video, while Link sets up everything for the live.

There's only 17 people watching, Rhett talks directly to them, one even asks about his back hair (!) to which he responds that it can be remedied easily. Link tells him to remember Jesus and their wives are watching, ha. Rhett says Jesus is, but his wife is working 👀

One of Rhett's famous quotes! I have a feeling these kasts are full of proprhettcies.

Link says he's glad there's proof that he does everything. Rhett says he can change this to Rhett.com anytime (sure like you didn't convince this man to quit his job so that he could create with you).

I LOVE the chinstrap and the wings. I even love their flair legged jeans (I may be biased because these kasts started when I was in college, but the slightly fitted flairs are better than just baggy jeans like when they were in college).

They are adorable 😭 I would've loved them if I had known they existed back then. In hs and college, I was into Olde English (with Adam Conover and Raph Bob-Waksberg) and Derrick Comedy (Donald Glover), both were comedy troupes and had their own websites/forums before yt was big.

Link jumped on the bed? That’s so cute! I bet Rhett did need a hug, whether he admitted it or not. 😂

Yeah, Link was hyper and Rhett was grumpy (probably didn't sleep well on the hotel bed) and Link was doing all kinds of silly things that were getting on Rhett's nerves. Link asking him if he wanted a hug made me think that's how Link used to handle grumpy Rhett but on-camera Kast Rhett didn't want anyone knowing he was soft. I'm glad Rhett is allowing his true soft self out these days, and accepting hugs and cuddles from Link seems to be part of that.

Woah. Definitely wasn’t prepared for that. It got so quiet and is it just me or did electricity come out of nowhere?? It was so crazy, I could feel the energy in the room change. The tension could’ve been cut with a knife. And Link getting all flustered and saying *“my collarbones are getting hot”. Like wtf Neal? And then Rhett asking “you ok man? Do we need to talk?”. Seriously, my first impression of that was that Rhett knew that there was more to Link’s words and no one else had a clue. Aka lil Linkypoo has a crush😜

1/10/08:

*Link immediately looks 10 years younger without that horseshoe mustache.

*I'm sad that they don't make up these ridiculous songs anymore and play them in GMM nowadays.

*Lots of kool-aid is being consumed. This was obviously before they became very health conscious.

*I've never seen anyone narrate guacamole with song before, it makes it a lot better.

*they're so amazed by the opening of the avocado. Apparently they've never watched anyone making guacamole before 👀👀

*Link is so proud of himself for "cooking", it's super cute.

*They have hawks in the basement. Boys are so nervous. 😂

*Rhett makes a comment about cats not having affection, so his cat thing is not anything new.

Hello there fam. For me who has a fuzzy memory and for the new beasts, can you give us a history of Randls mythical beast names? Thanks! ❤️

Absolutely! In 2009, Rhett and Link started the Rhettandlinkommunity, a site that still exists today, but they turned it over to the fans and now they don't really interact there at all. The Kommunity voted to call themselves Mythical Beasts.

Rhett decided his Mythical Beast name would be Shahbaz (which is a mythological giant king Eagle), based partly on a story they told about a conversation they had with a drunk man in his truck. He told Rhett he looked like a falcon and Link that he looked like a star. Rhett also knew the name Shahbaz because they knew someone when they were kids by that name.

Link let the Kommunity help choose his name, and they decided on Chiasquatch (chia+ sasquatch) because he was known for his fast-growing facial hair.

I tried for about half an hour to find the Rhettandlinkasts where they talked about this, but couldn't find it, so if anyone remembers which ones, please remind me! I'm pretty sure they were some of the last Kasts. The Rhettandlinkasts are only available to watch on the Mythical Society now (for all degrees).
