Why Obi-Wan and Anakin being a Force dyad not only makes sense but doesnt contradict canon
First of all: what exactly is a dyad?
A dyad is two physically separate individuals being the same presence in the Force. The only dyad bond that currently exists in canon is, of course, the one shared by Rey and Ben. They have an 11 year gap, meaning two people are not born a dyad, but develop a dyad bond over the course of their life (keep this in mind). They have a lot of amazing and unique abilities that nobody else has (like extremely powerful Force healing* and object transfer), but a few of their dyad feats are also found in the Obi-Wan/Anakin duo.
*Force healing isn't exclusive to the dyad btw, several Force users had this ability, including Anakin and Obi-Wan.
Here are some examples:
they can communicate telepathically from across the galaxy. Neither of them is very proficient at this as they only found out about it way too late, when they were very much enemies and Obi-Wan made himself undetectable (and from the Rako Hardeen arc we know that when he does this not even Anakin can recognize him);
they share feelings, memories and pain through the Force as if they're experiencing them together, as one, at the same time;
during their duel on Mustafar, Palpatine felt that Anakin was in danger, despite them not being nearly done fighting. This could be due to Palpatine sensing the dyad bond being severed, and any Force bond severed is dangerous as it can create a wound in the Force. Palpatine could have been worried about Anakin becoming a wound (tho i personally think that Obi-Wan is more likely to have become a wound instead);
upon realizing Rey and Ben are a dyad, Palpatine says that the dyad bond was "unseen for generations". It technically has been generations since Obi-Wan and Anakin, plus 'unseen' doesnt meant 'non-existent'. Palpatine might simply not have noticed, as "A Force dyad, binding two separate beings together, was not an easily discernible phenomenon." After all he only realizes Rey and Ben are a dyad when they fight him directly and as a team and he accidentally siphons their life force, which is a situation he has most definately never found himself in with Obi-Wan and Anakin;
remember the dyad bond being created over time? Palpatine tried (unsuccessfully) to form a dyad bond with Anakin, meaning that not only he knew about the prophecy of the dyad, but he sought to realize it in himself and, likely, getting rid of Anakin in order to avoid the prophecy of the Chosen One being realized instead. Anakin/Vader at that point had surrendered himself to Palpatine entirely, so there would be no reason for the bond not to be created. Unless, of course, Anakin already shared that connection with someone else;
them being a dyad would explain why Anakin had to die in order to bring balance to the Force, despite having already killed Palpatine: he needed to reunite with Obi-Wan so the dyad could be one again. Rey doesn't need to die because Ben transfered his life force to her. This is also why Ben doesn't appear as a Force ghost: other than lacking the training, he lives on in Rey;
on that note, Obi-Wan and Anakin being a dyad would also explain how Anakin was able to learn how to become a Force-ghost despite having no training at all (Sith cant become Force ghosts so Palpatine certainly didnt teach him). and even in legends, its Obi-Wan who reaches out to him in the space between death and beyond and teaches him the way.
An argument against the Obi-Wan/Anakin dyad is the "Rey and Ben are unique and nobody can do the things they can do" argument. Which is true, they are absolutely unique and we have never seen any character, in either legends or canon, do the things they can do, but I wouldn't consider it a strong argument. Nearly every Force bond is different and unique (some Jedi could create bonds with other Force users, some could create bonds with anyone, some could create bonds with animals, others could only create bonds with their master/apprentice) and the strength of those bonds varies depending on the people who share them.
We only have a single example of what a dyad looks like, in canon, and that is simply not enough to rule out the possibility of other characters having shared that bond, especially knowing how difficult it is to recognize!
Obi-Wan and Anakin could not transfer objects through the Force or touch each other across light-years, but I would argue they never needed to, as they were so inseparable that they were concieved as a single entity by the entire galaxy:
Tumblr media
(Revenge of the Sith - Matthew Stover)
And to further confirm the depth of their bond, here is Yoda sensing** the effect of Obi-Wan's death on Anakin all the way to Dagobah:
Tumblr media
(There is Another - Gary D. Schmidt, from From A Certain Point of View)
**He sensed Obi-Wan and Anakin clashing against each other as well, describing the fight as follows: "Then the two vibrations met, and their pulses fought across the back of the Force."
Making Obi-Wan and Anakin a dyad would also make the Rey and Ben dyad make more sense: Anakin was created by the Force itself to be the Chosen One as a response to Plagueis trying to create the perfect dark side user and Sith warrior -> Anakin then forming a dyad bond with Obi-Wan, a steadfast light side user through and through -> that bond being severed causing the dark side to take over the light -> Anakin's twin children being equally capable of redeeming him (perhaps another dyad, or something akin to it since they could also do some of the things obikin/reylo can do) -> the dyad being reunited with Anakin's death -> Palpatine is actually not dead so balance needs to be brought back yet again -> Anakin's grandson forms a dyad bond with Palpantine's granddaughter (finalizing what Palpatine had failed to do with Anakin) -> the dyad is fully realized when Ben dies to bring Rey back to life.
This would make Anakin retain the most important role in the story as the Chosen One and the 'patriarch' (word used loosely) of the dyad lineage.
And last, but most certainly not least, Obi-Wan and Anakin lead the Open Circle Fleet during the Clone Wars. The Open Circle emblem, specifically, represented the two of them and the power of their bond: "The heraldic emblem consisted of a yellow circle that was formed by two separate semi-circle arcs. One arc represented Kenobi, the other, Skywalker. The image signified that while they were both two independent halves, together they formed a single entity."

More than this
A/n the anakin appearance in ahsoka show got to me, that's all i can say
warnings: i didn't think too much about realistic timelines and i lowkey prioritized vibe over canon (as usual tbh), also written very quickly bc i'm supposed to be studying for a test so typos maybe? and maybe not great lol,, lowkey manipulative anakin but he's in his villain era so
Summary: Similar vibes as that force "facetime" thing with kylo and rey,, basically anakin 'facetiming' his not gf after killing off a bunch of younglings bc she's going through it and he's that committed
----
You're sick of it. Not of meetings or of political discourse or of trying to do the right thing for your people. You're sick of pretending like your entire way of life doesn't have an approaching expiration date.
The door to your bed chambers shuts with a groan loud enough to mask your irritated sigh. You squeeze your eyes shut so tightly you see stars before resting your forehead against the solid surface.
At least you're alone now. For now.
It won't be long before someone finds you. Another meeting or lesson or worst of all--another suitor. You don't want any of it. In fact, you might not ever want to speak to another person again.
"Not surprising."
You turn around too quickly, the back of your head hitting the door with a soft thump. Some combination of a shout and gasp tries to crawl up your throat but just as quickly the urge vanishes.
"Great..." He's standing at the other end of your room, confident like he has a right to be in your chambers. Like he's actually-- "I'm being driven to insanity."
He tilts his head slightly, expression revealing much too little. "I've told you." He takes a step forward. "I'm real."
At this point, he's given you several reasons to believe the stories he's told you. That the force he wields for whatever reason has chosen to connect the two of you. Considering what you've been briefed on regarding the current state of the Jedi, you might be better off if the stranger that keeps finding you does turn out to be a hallucination.
A question settles in your chest the way it often does when he appears. Now that you know about the rumored fall of the Jedi that has your father nervous and your advisors unsure, you're more wary of him than ever. How is he 'standing' here, perfectly fine?
You're not overly concerned about offending him. He's just someone that manipulates his abilities to pop in whenever you crave solitude most. But something at the back of your mind warns that you might not want the answer. Nothing good could come from any involvement of the Jedi in their current state.
"A hallucination would make the same argument," you whisper, voice drier than before. He takes another step in your direction. A mistake. You've made one by indicating nerves. "So..." Recovering quickly, you force your spine to straighten, "Why are you here this time?"
Casual and detached. That's how all of these forced rendezvous go. It's the safest. He insists on whatever point he's trying to make and you pretend to be too caught up in your annoyance to find any part of interesting until he eventually vanishes. Any stray in that could lead to a negative shift. Especially now.
"Are you not happy to see me?" You blink. He's made those types of comments before, a hint of humor touching his features enough to make you feel less on edge. But this time the words feel off, void of any warmth or surprising charisma.
Nerves twist themselves in your stomach. Whatever happened to the Jedi, whatever had all the members of your latest meeting on edge has effected him.
He's watching you, waiting for a reaction. You want out, but some instinct begs you to keep that hidden. A lifetime of being a royal daughter instead of a son has taught you that there's a certain safety that comes from playing unaware. "Not any more or less happy than usual."
That sounds normal, right? You've never been particularly nice to him, making it clear that you have no interest or time for whatever potential the force he's always talks about sees in the two of you as a pairing. But you're also not mean or flighty. "Okay, maybe a little less."
A small offering. You've done it before, revealing bits and pieces of your life to him because he has no part in your world. It doesn't matter what he knows and you've never had someone in your life in any capacity that you could just rant to, someone you could exist around without any pretext.
"And why is that?"
Another thing you didn't think through. The meeting that made you feel like a useless figurehead just waiting to be married off had revolved around the issues with the Jedi and what that means for your people.
"Some meetings today." That's a casual enough thing to admit. He normally assumes that's your issue. "Long meetings...so if you could just get to your point and disappear the way you usually do."
The corner of his mouth turns upwards. Normally, his partial smiles and signs of ease make you feel better about speaking to him. This look, however, only further knots your stomach. "Busy day."
"Yeah," you agree, nodding once, "Another one of my cousins have agreed to a proposed betrothal and that--that always starts discussions of when I'll finally do the same and--"
You're not sure where your rambling's going, you just know that this is something you complain about enough for it to seem normal. Besides, the best covers are based on the truth and what you're referencing is true enough. There was some discussion about a relative's impending marriage, but the rumors took over the meeting before anyone could try to convince your father to finally marry you off.
He takes another step towards the door and then another. The room is large enough that there's still an amount of distance between the two of you that's respectable, but that doesn't make it easier to dismiss that he's getting closer. At least your proximity to the door is comforting.
"You've never lied to me before."
The flutter of uncertainty in your stomach spikes, a brief wave of panic rendering you incapable of thinking. He's capable of just appearing in your room without actually being here, being able to tear apart your lie is nothing compared to that. But somehow him being able to tell where your truth begins and ends feels much more invasive than what you already knew about. You don't lie constantly, but for so long your ability to seem clueless has been your only form of self preservation.
You don't know what to do next. A part of you wants to fall back on habit, commit to your portrayal of not knowing. He'll see through it, there's no reason for him not to, but what else is there? Owning up to lying about the meeting will lead to a discussion of the actual meeting and that...
You're not sure why you're so convinced that ignorance is what you should be striving for. After all, everything you heard about the Jedi's current situation was unconfirmed, too recent and closed off to have reached even the top leader's of your home. But if it's true and he's really reaching out to you after such tragedy and acting casual in a way that makes it feel like you've never met him before.
You're also too aware of the fact that while you do feel the need to be alert, you're not afraid. This would be easier if you were. "How do you know that?"
Instead of sounding as closed off as you want to, genuine curiosity bleeds into the question.
"The same way we can see each other." Another step, this one less subtle. "I can teach you, if you'd like."
If he can tell when you're lying, there's not much point in saying no without a reason because despite yourself, you would like to know how. Who wouldn't? "I think I'm missing certain abilities."
His eyebrows draw together, and for a brief second you get a glimpse of something a little more familiar and a lot easier to accept. "I wouldn't be too sure."
Okay, now you know something's up with him. A breezy half-laugh escapes you. "Come on." Maybe that was his way of releasing some of the tension. His expression doesn't waiver. "Okay." If he wants to act strange, fine, but he's not going to convince you that you're like him in anyway. "What makes you say that?"
A beat passes and then another. If he had behaved like he usually does, you might have even considered the silence a sort of hesitation. "You're the one that reached out to me."
Another breathy, almost nervous laugh slips out. "Even if I had wanted to speak to you, I wouldn't have known how."
"You found a way."
There are only so many things you can believe from him. He's an invasive stranger that you've decided to accept in your life out of desperation for an outlet of escape. "That's impossible." He's closer now than you remember him being a second ago. That's almost enough to derail your train of thought. "The--the only thing I was thinking about was how much I wanted to be alone."
"You say that every time."
Pressing your lips together, you give yourself permission to let his words sink in. Every time you've seen him, it's after deciding that you want nothing to do with anyone ever again. "Then I guess you have impeccable timing."
He's so close now that you could extend an arm to touch him....if you wanted to. He angles his chin downwards slightly, "I can teach you."
Warmth begins to crawl up your chest. His assistance is another thing that should scare you. You're not like him...you can't be and even if you were, it'd have to be a secret that you take with you to the grave. And even if you are, why does it matter to him? "Why?"
He's unfazed by your abrasive tone. "I can see it."
"There's nothing to s--"
"You want more than this." You swallow once in an attempt to get rid of whatever's lodged itself in your throat. Maybe there is no such thing as being able to be fully honest with anyone, no matter how disconnected from your life they may seem. "I can help you."
Some halfhearted correction tries to pry itself out of your mouth even though there's no point. "I don't--we don't even know each other." You keep your poster rigid. "I don't even know your name."
His lips part. Whatever response he was planning on giving you is cut off before he can even start by the quick knocking against your door. Your head initially snaps towards the door. "..Are you in there?" Another rush of soft knocks. "Your father's waiting for you, he wants to debrief the last meeting."
Your let your head fall forward again with an instinctual sigh. By the time your eyes settle where they were before, he's gone.

my Star Wars hot take (with no real knowledge of it) is that the sequels would have been awesome if they let Rey be a Palpatine who understood her lineage and had a place in the First Order (like half-involved royalty of some sort), and Ben was a struggling Jedi knight fighting the dark side off (similar to Anakin). They meet, there’s an immediate “oh shit” moment, and they begin their power struggle, except for the first time in Star Wars history we get to see and follow primarily a member of the order.
The prequel trilogy we see a good guy lose to the dark. The core trilogy we see an unlikely hero, chosen one situation (good guy stays good). So why on earth would the sequel trilogy not be bad guy turns good?
And they set it up perfectly, too, with Rey being a Palpatine and Ben having the possibility of becoming dark. They just didn’t think it through. We’ve never watched a protagonist exist amongst something like the First Order and actively ROOT for them. It would’ve been so sick to like the villain, to want them to succeed and go good.
It also would’ve been a really neat inverse of Anakin—Rey struggles against the light, loses to it, but still loses their lover in the process (assuming Ben still dies in Rey’s place) and then Rey has to go on having lost love but becoming light despite it. Like, what an ode to Anakin and what he could’ve been? A real big “fuck you” to what he became but also proof in the pudding he could’ve been something better.
And Ben Solo could’ve been so fun—masquerading around in an unfeeling, neutral mask (and fit) so as to not be recognized as a Solo/Skywalker OR a Jedi, because he’s uncertain of the path, of his heritage, of his own temperament, of being a Jedi despite the darkness he knows is part of him.
Also, just the ability to cast doubt on the Jedi, you know? Give the creed depth by showing a character who’s reluctant to pledge himself—it’s not just some troop of good guys saving the galaxy, it’s a LIFE of service.
I feel like they could have played it super political and almost regency-esque because we’d mainly be seeing Rey trying to maintain her status but also experience the world as she hasn’t before—but I’d be okay with that.
I would’ve been okay with ANYTHING that wasn’t just a lame rehashing of the prequels, because have some originality bro.
I dunno. This has been ranty and convoluted but they and such an opportunity to give us nuance and unfamiliarity in a world we think we know having watched six movies about it—maybe I’m nuts.
Keep in mind I have very limited knowledge of Star Wars as a whole lol. I just have writer brain.

They should’ve made the Knights of Ren catholic in the Sequel Trilogy. You have the obvious associations and imagery, what with the burning cross and the name, the idea of crusaders, a First Order and everything. We could’ve made them a dark parallel to the Jedi in a way that is different from the Sith, but also still similar.
Because one of the big critiques of Catholicism is the constant emphasis on repentance, self-flagellation, always apologizing and atoning for who you are; Suffering is Good basically. Which is directly at odds with how the Jedi’s whole mission is to end suffering, given their Buddhist inspirations and all.
But what distinguishes the Knights of Ren from the Sith is that they’re collectivistic, not individualistic. Whereas the Sith see themselves as the absolute best, masters of their destiny, the Knights of Ren claim to constantly be working in servitude and devotion to some higher, ‘divine’ cause. The Sith know they’re selfish and simply don’t care, whereas the Knights of Ren operate on this false sense of holy righteousness.
In a way, you could see them being akin to what people accuse the Jedi order of being; A dogmatic organization of emotionally repressed cultists who are made to be inherently ashamed of themselves, and impose their own worldview on the world. It’s meta because we see the Jedi defeat the extremist caricature which others in real life and in-universe accuse them of being; Imagine Rey posting a selfie after defeating the Knights of Ren, captioned “Just beat the Corrupt Jedi Allegations (Literally)!!!”
They’re like a twisted middleground between the Jedi and Sith… Except they’re still evil by the end of the day. They’re monks, but in a Christian sense, while the Jedi are Buddhist; And with the resurgence of Right-Wing Conservatism that espouses the Bible, that would make the Knights of Ren politically topical, as the villains of each trilogy are meant to be. They’re crusaders and missionaries, seeking to convert the entire galaxy, or else wipe out what doesn’t cooperate. They want everyone, force-sensitive or not, to worship and fear the Force.
In the wake of Palpatine’s death, they see themselves as reinstating a lost spirituality that Order 66 had nearly wiped out; But they also see the Jedi as hedonistic heretics, and again, they plan to dominate the galaxy. They’re much more transparent about their goals, unlike the Sith of the mainline films, and they intend to convert the new wave of force-sensitives that have been born following Anakin’s redemption, and the final death of the Sith (They do not like the Rule of Two; The more Force, the better).
They’ve allied with Snoke because both parties need the other; Snoke because he’s lacking in experienced force-sensitives, the Knights of Ren because Snoke has arcane knowledge and an actual army, as well as a program for indoctrinating children. Kylo is like their middle man, a chosen one, basically the Knights’ second coming of Christ or something; But he’s both beholden to them and Snoke, so it’s a bit hard reconciling these loyalties.
Kylo is like Snoke’s inside man, and whom he can actually communicate with the hostile Knights of Ren through; He sees them as unruly and belligerent, only listening to their chosen leader, and apprehensive to talk to Snoke. While the Knights of Ren are dirty and scarred, Kylo’s uniform and equipment is clean and well-kept; He is an outlier, both as an ascended leader, but also as someone with outside ties.
Despite being their elected leader, Kylo still has some ways to go; But the Knights of Ren are prepared to worship, support, and prepare him for that position of leadership. Him and Han are a reverse Abraham and Isaac; Not only does the son make the sacrifice of his father, he actually succeeds in going through with it. Each Knight of Ren goes through arduous trials to be knighted and given the prestigious title of Ren; And at the end, they must make a personal sacrifice, to prove their loyalty to their divine cause, and their willingness to prioritize it over all else. They really ARE a cult, insisting on no outside ties, Us VS Them, unlike the Jedi.
They probably have a REALLY long history, older than even the Sith; Perhaps even older than the Jedi! A long history of persecution, with the earliest followers of the faith being hunted down by anti-Force regimes, and this continuing perhaps as recent as Order 66; So again, more parallels to the Jedi, and helps explain their scrappy, wartorn poverty. Since the Sequel Trilogy teased the idea of the Unknown Regions and the origin of the Jedi being explored, let’s go with that; Perhaps the Knights of Ren are among the very first Force-sensitive sects that emerged.
Maybe we could even do a twist; The first Jedi was actually a Knight of Ren who realized their ideology sucked and redeemed themselves, as a narrative predecessor to Anakin. This would give the Knights of Ren a particular grudge against the Jedi, who they see as having made things Go Wrong, just when the Ren had begun to make things Go Right. And the Sith have their origins as former Jedi turned dark, so they see the Sith as merely offshoots of the original traitors; This original Jedi is their Judas, a former follower who turned corrupt, and basically sided with those persecuting them (the Romans/anti-Force majority).
That might be why they generally don’t wield lightsabers; They might associate them with Jedi, especially if it was the first Jedi who introduced the usage of Kyber. Kylo is an exception, since he’s the Chosen One and all that, plus he’s already an outlier and outsider in other ways; Snoke insisted on the lightsaber because he pulls from Jedi and Sith teachings, much to the chagrin of the Knights of Ren. But Snoke believes a well-rounded education is necessary for Kylo’s full potential, and that’s another reason he tolerates the Knights of Ren, since THEY’RE the experts on the Ren. There might be some significance to Kylo’s lightsaber being an outlier even amongst lightsabers, too.

Rey should’ve been a Kenobi.
Been on a bit of a Star Wars run (hyperfixation make brain go brrr) and just. It would make so much more sense.
I really liked the last jedi. I liked that Rey was a nobody, that it emphasized the idea that anyone can be the “chosen” one and you don’t have to be related to That One Family. I liked other things ab it, but that’s what I’m focusing on here.
Hated the rise of skywalker. god. Some people (sorry @villain-enthusiast) had to deal with my rage texts last week after rewatching it because WOW the failed potential and ACTIVE decimation of previous movies... but I’m not here to focus on that, either.
Rey being a palpatine: boring, weird, means palpatine had sex with somebody, and also that he’s still alive and therefore Vader’s betrayal in the return of the jedi meant basically nothing bc palpatine survived.
Rey being a kenobi: possibly means that she’s korky’s daughter! The grandchild of obiwan and satine! This makes more sense! AND THE PARALLELS!!
The first time kenobi and skywalker fought, kenobi won, but in doing so had to kill (so he thought) his best friend. He failed. Even when they fought later, he still could not bring anakin back. THIS time, a kenobi and a skywalker fight, but instead of one killing the other, kenobi is finally able to save skywalker- and in doing so, brings obiwan’s arc full circle. Maybe he couldn’t do it in his lifetime, but his granddaughter saves anakin’s grandson from the dark.
I’m so mad.

Recently rewatched the Skywalker saga again. And I have thoughts.
Disclaimer: No hate to anyone who likes 7-9!!!
The main problem I have is the thing with Palpatine returning. I’ve been an Anakin-girlie for as long as I can remember. Obviously, the man has his faults. But!
In the end of Return of the Jedi he redeemed himself. He got rid of Palpatine and brought balance to the force as the chosen one, saving his son and paying for it with his life.
He didn’t stop being the chosen one simply because he became Darth Vader, he was the chosen one all along.
And by having Palpatine return it negates his whole arc. All of it.
So, him being the chosen one never mattered at all, him finally finding peace and becoming one with the force meant fuck all. And it infuriates me to no end.
It has to be said, I haven’t watched 7-9 closely, I don’t care about them that much. It feels more like fan service than anything. I did enjoy some parts of them, of course. But it really angers me what they did to Luke and how they picked apart Anakin’s redemption completely.
For me it doesn’t feel like Star Wars at all, it just feels like money-grabbing fan service.
I just can’t see them as anything but rushed and badly written movies.
Don’t even get me started on Rey Skywalker.
This has probably been said a million times in different variations but I needed to say it again.

I’m still hung up on how they accidentally seemed to do a cousin romance. Like it’s strongly implied in the prequels that sheev is anakin’s father (for like. No reason other than the pretty valid assumption that “sheev is anakin’s father”) but I’ve had to explain to multiple people that no the kiss was not an intentional incestuous reference to the Luke and leia kiss because a Star Wars comic writer confirmed on their twitter that sheev did not make anakin so you can ignore that rotj conversation and continue to feel a little weird about the Rey kylo “romance” because it sucks badly
i hate to beef with fellow suffering star wars brethren but i really don’t think the prequels implied sheev was anakin’s father at all?? like the chosen one/jesus allegory was pretty blatant they really had shmi go “there was no father i carried him myself” etc like the virgin mary i have never in my life heard someone mistake sheev for his father. some people also erroneously think it was plagueis who made anakin because of his experimentation with midichlorians and i mean kind of but still indirectly bc the lore holds that plaugeis’s crazy experiments on dying things caused the force to compensate in the other direction and conceive anakin from midichlorians but definitely neither of the sith set out to like make a baby anyway all that being said reylo is still the most cringe

Despite it being six years since The Last Jedi, the haters are still accusing Rian Johnson of 'demonising' Luke.
I have noticed quite a lot of them are Kylo haters...and argue that the ST 'made the OT heroes look bad' in order to 'make Kylo look good.'
Okay, we are all entitled to our own opinions...but at the end of the day, I, who LOVED the OT characters....didn't think it made them look bad at all.
Let me explain.
Some of the greatest heroes, in fiction but also in real life, have been crap parents. My bro, a HUGE Superman fan, read a comic where Clark was a father, and his son bemoaned the fact that he was never there...instead he was off 'saving the world.'
Many real life cops suffer from failed marriages because they had to put saving lives before being there for their kids. Male AND female cops.
Let's look at the OT characters.
Han - when we first meet him, he's a mercenary who refuses to help save Leia until he got paid. Yes, he did return and save Luke...but he was still a 'grey' character.
Luke - rash, impulsive and with 'much anger in him.' Luke eventually became a Jedi master, but made many mistakes along the way.
Leia - put the 'greater good' before everything else; even when her home world was threatened she lied rather than telling the Empire the truth. Brave to a fault, Leia still was more of a warrior/politician than anything else.
These qualities are why I loved the OT trio - I'd rather have a flesh and blood, human being as a hero, one I could identify with, than a Mary Sue like Rey any day.
The first two films in the ST didn't 'demonise' the OT heroes at all....in fact I believe they were true to character.
Leia candidly admitted that she had made a mistake sending her son away. Han admitted that he 'ran off' instead of doing something to get his son back. Both of them were emotionally scarred by their experiences with Vader - the man who tortured them - to the degree that every time their child had a tantrum they thought it was the dark side manifesting in him.
And then....Luke.
Luke also made a mistake....his mistake was looking into the future. It showed him Ben becoming Kylo....but, just as Anakin's vision of Padme dying was showing him what would happen if he 'fell', Luke's vision showed what would happen if something wasn't done to save Ben. It was a warning of how Ben's family were failing to see what Snoke was doing to him.
'Always in motion, the future.' Yes, Yoda.
'The future is not set' - John Connor, the Terminator.
At heart, the Skywalkers were a family haunted by tragic mistakes. Which is why Ben's survival and redemption was so very important to the final film in their saga, and why the choices made by DLF caused the entire trilogy to spectacularly fail. But, the first two films didn't 'demonise' any of the characters.
TROS did.
With Rey - reduced to an unlikeable judgemental skank. With Poe, reduced from the son of heroes to a drug smuggler. With Finn, reduced to Rey's groupie. With Kylo, whose wonderful development in TLJ was tossed down a garbage chute so Abrams and Terrio could turn him into a Vader clone (ironic as JJ repeatedly insisted he was anything but in TFA).
But most of all....with Leia.
Leia screwed up. She focused on rebuilding the Republic when she should have focused on her child, and what he was going through. But, in TFA Leia admitted it. She desperately wanted her son back. She sent him to Luke because she couldn't train him herself. And yes...she shouldn't have. But, she meant well. This was the Leia I loved in the OT.
I didn't know TROS Leia.
She was revealed as a half trained Jedi who could have chosen to train her troubled son herself. She chose not to. Instead, she chose to train his enemy. To in all likelihood kill him.
Even the scene where she 'reached out' to Ben almost cost him his life. And, at the end, she was 'glad' to take him with her in the afterlife...presumably because she had a nice shiny female virginal replacement.
I'm sorry, but I can't imagine Carrie being happy in how her character was treated. It broke my heart.
And yet years later, it is still the 'treatment of Luke' fanboys are whining about.
The fans that also ultimately are responsible for TROS.
Thanks for nothing.

Cataclysm
Lydia Kang
Publisher: Del Rey, RandomHouse Genre: sci fi, fantasy, star wars Year: 2023
Tumblr media
This book perfectly encapsulates the danger of writing prequel series. And although I will be the first to tell you that I believe collaborative storytelling is the next major frontier, Cataclysm manages to make every mistake possible to make when being a part of an endeavor like this.
This book is just... bad. There's no other way to put it. It's heartbreaking to be a Star Wars fan, particularly someone who loves the High Republic era and get this as an offering.
Where to even begin... Let's start with inconsistent characterization. Gella, the independent Wayseeker in Convergence is nowhere to be seen. In her place is a simpering idiot who makes every mistake in the book, is manipulated at every turn, and worst of all gets her partner killed. Why? Oh, because Axel Greylark is pretty, of course.
In case you're not fully up to date, in the first installment, tenuous interplanetary negotiations keep getting sabotaged at every turn, things go horribly awry, and thousands of innocent people die. The main cast discovers that it is Axel Greylark, hiding among them, who is responsible for this, and he is sent to prison.
If I ever read the phrase "she had to clear her head" or "she tried to focus" because apparently just being in the presence of a single (1) bourgeoisie mass murderer who is a bit pretty is enough to rattle Gella to her core. Seriously. This is a major plot point. Part of me genuinely wonders if Lydia Kang was chosen for this installment specifically to fend off accusations of sexism. The misogyny in the Star Wars fandom is already so prevalent, this honestly felt like a kick in the teeth. Especially because there are absolutely no other relationships that Gella holds as dear, even ones she's had for far longer--even ones that are more meaningful (I'm basing this on the fact that her attachment to Axel is based on the events of the first book, and he never said a true thing in that book, ergo her affections are based on a lie). When she gets a mentor in the form of a senior Jedi, who gently tries to prod her away from succumbing to her emotions, she goes around and immediately gets him killed. This does not affect Gella for more than 3 paragraphs. Meanwhile the only person she sheds tears for the entire novel is Axel Greylark, who, at the end of all this, must carry out his actual prison sentence. He gets tears, but Master Orin Dargha, killed by Axel Greylark, does not.
If you couldn't already catch on, this is an Axel Greylark hate account. There is absolutely nothing wrong with his character, I don't mind evil characters. It's the fact that he is narratively wasted. I was hoping for this book to be a corruption arc so desperately, but I could tell how much Kang wanted us to like him just because. Despite being a coward, despite getting people killed through inaction, and directly through his own actions, despite causing the deaths of thousands of innocents, Axel Greylark is narratively redeemed because he gets injured in battle and goes to jail at the end. Now first let's talk about the injured thing. This book was so hard to read because for some reason Axel is favored by the writer. Here is a list of things he somehow survives: getting blown up hard enough he goes unconscious, shrapnel to the chest (which he pulls out), a lightsaber slice to his shoulder that somehow didn't cut off his arm, strangulation, and drowning. This is all within hours of each other with no medical attention in between. Then when he switches back to being a "good guy" (I use the term loosely) it's because, and I am not joking, when the cultists he killed Orin for realize he's useless they make him do grunt work instead of being a Leader, and he doesn't like doing the grunt work. This man is selfish to his core. I thought for sure he would die in the battle in some bullshit Anakin-esque move that would "redeem him" because he made one right choice at the end of a decade of truly terrible choices, which I was going to roll my eyes at. But no! Not only does he survive, he gets to go to cushy white-collar criminal prison at the end of the book, and THAT is supposed to be enough. I want to throw him off a bridge.
Then came all the narrative blunders. The tension in the Eiram and E'ronoh and the not-so-subtle hints in the first book that the leaders were being manipulated into war, yes, but that manipulation was easy because of the old and set ways of their respective rulers, which is what Xiri and Phan-tu were supposed to mirror in the younger generation that solves it, but the politics of the first book are completely erased in this one. There is no resolution to this plot point, just a quick scene of a new treaty being signed in the postscript.
Another is Binnot Ullo, the orphaned street rat taken in by the Path who befriends the aristocrat Axel as a child. Where Axel literally has everything, and his entire selfish motivations stem from "my mom doesn't pay enough attention to me and I'm sad my dad's dead" while being lavished in every whim he could think of, Binnot had to earn his way his entire life. And while Binnot's story is truly a tragedy: an orphaned child with no family taken in by a Force-user hating cult. He has to suppress his Force abilities his entire life, because if he makes a slip the people around him will kill him. No, we can't be sympathetic to him, what about Axel! Binnot's death would have been so poetic if he was killed by a Force eating beast. In his last moments, he would be forced to confront his own hypocrisy and discordant world view. He would be forced to acknowledge the people he considered family--in his messed up sort of way--would throw him away in an instant. Narratively, we would understand that the "weapon" meant to kill Jedi has been unleashed, but anyone could fall victim. But we don't get any of that. Why? Because Axel needed to look cool. Axel kicks Binnot so that he... accidentally strangles himself with his poison glove? It seriously makes no sense. Binnot has a glove with retractable needles in the fingertips. He is reaching for Axel. Axel kicks his hand. Now, in my mind the needles are still facing away from Binnot's body, he was reaching out to use them against someone else. That does not explain how his own hand got around his neck after a single kick. I digress.
Now for the weird continuity things. Kang introduces another of Yoda's species, a female little green alien, who I kid you not, is named Master Yaddle. The weirdest part is: Yoda still talks like Yoda in this timeline, hundreds of years before the movies, but Yaddle talks like everybody else. I was hoping it would just be a cool linguistic quirk of the species but if Yaddle speaks normally, then Yoda's famous form of speech is... because he's just Like That. What?! Also, we know from the Mandalorian that there are more of Yoda's species, but Yaddle's presence is just baffling. There's no real point to it, besides the interesting tidbit she is also a caretaker of younglings. Honestly the whole time I was thinking of thee 1980 Empire Strikes Back puppet with a red wig on.
The whole point of Phase II was supposed to be an exploration of how and why Marchion Ro came to lead the Nihil and shed more light on their intentions in Phase III. Because Phase II takes place two hundred years before Phase I, it's like going back in time from going back in time. In Phase I we were introduced to this incredible weapon that turned Jedi into husks (Bell Zettifar, my boy, needs so much therapy). This same weapon is in Phase II HUNDREDS OF YEARS BEFORE PHASE I, and how does Kang explain why Jedi hundreds of years later fight the same enemy and have them still not know anything about it? The LAST SCENE OF THE BOOK is Yoda and Creighton Sun decide to just not talk about it until they "know more."
WHAT. You mean Loden Greatstorm died because Yoda JUST FORGOT TO MENTION the Force-eating monsters?! It's inconceivable. It's laughable. I just imagine Yoda going "Oh ya. Those guys. Bad news, they are." Because the book ends where it does, there's no investigation into these monsters, and we've already read Phase I in which they are a surprise, so we can surmise as the audience that, yeah. Yoda just forgot about the Force-eating monsters, after he and another Jedi decided to keep them a secret (despite multiple other Jedi coming face-to-face with them so literally how is it a secret between just them two?) and decide NOT TO KEEP ANY RECORD OF THE FORCE EATING MONSTERS and just NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS?!
Also, this duology really revealed absolutely nothing about the Nihil, Marchion Ro, or anything super relevant to Phase I. I am left thinking "what was the point of all this needless misogyny?!" IT WAS ALL FOR NOTHING?! WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS?!
Honestly. This book is terrible. Just so bad. Poorly written, nonsensical plot, lack of continuity, and no clear purpose. At this point my recommendation is you can skip Phase II entirely.

haven’t had a thought on here in a while so here’s just something ive been thinking about, has probably been talked about before but i just finished reading ‘padawan’ and it got me thinking.
jedi traditionally (in the books at least) when choosing a padawan, do so though the force, they are called to, drawn together, chosen for the ways in which their learning styles will compliment each other. we all know by now that obi-wan was not chosen by qui-gon, yoda asks him to. now that’s not to say they do not end up foraging the same master and apprentice bond that most others do- while they have a shaky start and have troubles connecting, they do get there. we even know that qui-gon turns down a council seat so he can continue to train obi-wan. but the thing that got me thinking was, within what is jokingly referred to as the “disaster lineage”, every master and padawan pair following qui-gon and obi-wan is established in a similar way and they all end in tragedy.
like i said, we know that qui-gon and obi-wan were placed together, and despite becoming a solid pair, qui-gon meets his fate at the hands of one of the first sith to be seen in ages. in the immediate aftermath of that we have obi-wan and anakin, thrown together as master and padawan in such a similar way yet so different, a bond forged in grief and obligation and a hurried appointing of both. again not to say that obi-wan and anakin don’t end up to be one of the greatest duos in the galaxy. they are the team. but, again, we all know how that story ends.
and then we get to luke, much like his father in not even being a part of the jedi yet when he is thrown into the conflict around him and takes up the mantle alongside obi-wan. and while it’s never outright stated that he’s a padawan of obi’s- what with obi-wan not living long enough to be- the old man is a mentor, the closest thing luke will ever get to a master in life. and again, they meet, are thrown together and that is only just followed by more pain and loss.
the only real outlier here is ahsoka, but even then you can argue that she was placed under anakins tutelage without his knowledge- assigned to him in a situation not so unlike qui-gon and obi-wans and once again fulfilling this prophecy of the lineage, with the jedi turning on her and effectively estranging her from their ranks. hell, you can even rope rey into it if you want, she and luke don’t spend much time training together, but once more she fills the place of padawan and he as master of a pair that was not really supposed to be together.
the “disaster lineage” truly is more of a disaster than the joke first makes you think. like yes it’s obvious when you think about it in the broad strokes of everything i just talked about, but beyond the fuck-ups, bad luck, dying and betrayals, there is just this tiny thread, that if you tug on it, you have to wonder if it unspools all the way back to that moment of qui-gon and obi-wan being put together. some sort of divine imprint of wills being overridden, bound to repeat. a moment you can say was the will of the force, but for better or for worse? a long line of master and padawan pairs that end in misfortune, with count dooku of all people being at the root. anyways, this might have all be super obvious and you’re all going ‘duh what a dumbass’ but it was an interesting thought to me, how all these pairs have been doomed from the beginning once you see the pattern.

Reflection on Past and Future (Platonic) (OC: Marle Skywalker)
Summary: The war is over - at least now now, and Marle actually has a moment to think about things. The future, especially, being something that they never thought about before. Rey, meanwhile, fears looking backwards.
Post TROS lil fic with Rey and my OC Marle both struggling to process everything that happened over the ST, and attempting to find some way through.
Tumblr media
Marle had meditated before. It helped calm them during the moments where the war and life and their mind all got too much, and jumbled all together into one giant mess. Despite not being force sensitive - or, at least, not enough to fully tap into it, if what Poe said about the force and how it flows through all things meaning that everyone had it to varying degrees - Rey still helped them meditate. It, usually, helped. Didn’t do the trick all the time, but either way they were in a less stressed state than they were before the activity.
This moment in time however, was different. There was no war. Not anymore. Instead, there was the beginnings of peace - or some kind of it anyway. The First Order were down (even if cells of it always survived; that was one of the things Finn had said they needed to watch out for, how those cells could grow into something bigger.) and the Emperor had been destroyed by himself. The Jedi survived, even with Rey creating new things for it. Continuing the legacy, but also building on it to make sure another Anakin Skywalker ever happened again - in all senses; chosen one and all.
That was the problem to Marle, there was no action. Only stillness. On Jakku, stillness was never completely allowed. There were always creeks in the distance of Star Destroyers; always the sounds of winds hallowing; sometimes even screams in the night or blaster fire to match it. Despite the planet being almost barren to the eye, it wasn’t.
Marle had learned from a young age to never fully let your guard down. To always be ready. Prepared at the drop of a hat to spring into action.
That wouldn’t be happening for a while, or maybe even ever again.
They didn’t really know how to process it. Marle was glad, don’t get them wrong. Victory was what they wanted, both for them and their family - but also for the galaxy at large. For people to be able to make choices and be themselves with no real fear.
Marle’s fears, however, never left them.
They knew it wouldn’t be an instant thing. The trauma they went through of the past year wouldn’t just go at the click of some fingers - though the pained look Rey sometimes gave them made her wish there could be such a thing. They all had to process it their own ways. Rey trained a lot, meditated, then spoke to someone. Poe and Rose especially did that a lot with the same person, just at different times. Finn was slowly opening up to that idea. He, himself, starting to do that as well with captured First Order people, and other Resistance fighters. He was a natural at it. A kind soul. Marle smiled at the thought of their brother.
That smile soon dropped when it came back to themselves. They were meditating too. Why wasn’t it working?
“Marle?” A gentle voice asked. Marle looked up. Rey had come for them. She didn’t look worried. Her features were more relaxed. She had a small smile on her face as she looked at them. Marle mirrored it with a small one of their own. Rey’s one dimmed a bit.
One thing about being in each other’s lives for so long and in desperate situations of life and death? They could see what other people couldn’t: the true emotion of the other.
“What’s wrong?” The older sister asked. While reading people wasn’t always the younger Skywalker’s best quality, Rey’s soft tone continuing seemed to say that it was ok if they didn’t want to say for now.
When Rey didn’t receive an answer, she instead sat down, legs crossed like Marle had done. Marle shut their eyes again, but Rey kept her’s open.
Some silence went by, but Rey still felt the disturbance within her sibling. Something wasn’t sitting right with them. She always knew that sisterly instinct within her wanted to solve it. But, she also knew that Marle would want a chance to do it themselves. They weren’t different people persay now, but - Rey especially - instead saw different sides to each other. Their appreciation for each other had grown deeper, as well as their understanding of the other. Rey seeing Marle’s ability to adapt and keep fighting; Marle seeing how far Rey fully goes for those she loves, alongside letting her walls down with other people and letting herself love others and be loved. Those sides were always there, this…journey was what brought it out of them. Both were thankful for that part of it, at least.
“How did you do it?” Marle asked. Rey felt, and even saw by their stance alone, something shift within them.
“How did I do what, sorry?” She watched her sibling carefully here, trying to detect anymore shifts as they opened up.
They opened their eyes again, a sigh leaving them. Not one of frustration at Rey, but more so one about their own inability to describe it.
“How did you get better?”
While Rey appreciated the bluntness, it did also take her back a bit.
“I don’t think I am. Not fully, anyway.”
“Oh…”
“I - I think I’m better than I was then, for sure,” Rey said, hoping that these were the magic words she needed to get things back on a more positive track.
“But like…how did you know that?”
“Well,” Rey repositioned herself slightly, getting more comfortable as she took a moment to genuinely think about it - the whole process was new to her; and, according to the person she was talking to, there was a lot to process.
“To be honest,” she continued, “it felt like a weight being lifted. A metaphorical one, but a weight nonetheless. I asked Poe about that feeling too, if that helps.”
Marle smiled a bit. Siblings in a lot of ways it seemed, and not fully knowing how to cope was one of those things apparently.
“Do you think I ever will get to be like that?”
Rey’s heart clenched. Marle saw the internal flinch, and their eyes softened.
“Sorry…”
“Don’t,” Rey was firmer with tone this time, “don’t be sorry. It’s a question that is on your mind and — has it been for a long time?”
Marle nodded. Rey did too, even if it were slower and more weighted.
“Everyone has different timelines with it and —“
Marle stood up, and looked to the water on Ajan Kloss. The jungle took their breath away at first, then the water did for real. For Marle, it was too much for them. They flinched at it all of the way. They couldn’t go very far in, but no one blamed them for it.
Rey stood up, and moved next to Marle.
“Marle it…there’s no one way to this. Some things work for some people, but some things don’t for everyone. But, there will be a day when —“
“I don’t like that saying. I don’t…I don’t know how long I can hold on for.”
Rey found herself speechless. Marle’s eyes continued to bore into the water, but there was a vulnerability now at the surface. She’d seem to find it in spades what was going through her sibling’s head. Nothing nice. But now, it seemed, with all the time they all had now after the war, everything was hitting Marle at once.
Rey seemed more controlled with it. To be truthful, the only reason she was, was because of the rest of her family - how they all huddled around each other and kept an extra eye out.
Marle didn’t join them as much, she noted at the time. They didn’t completely close off, but they were around less so much that it became noticeable.
Rey shuddered. Feeling those emotions hit her as well. The confusion, malice of the self, the worry of the wait for it to all get better - but also the worry on the how it would improve and whether it ever would.
She knew every Jedi had doubts in themselves, the force, pretty much anything - it was a vary natural thing to do. Doubts were always going to crop up. Especially after events like what the Siblings of the Sand had gone through in such a short amount of time. So short that they didn’t ever fully get a chance to slow down.
They had that now, but Rey seemed more adjusted to it than Marle.
Marle looked at the water. The memory was still there, the feelings still somewhat raw whenever they thought about it. But maybe…maybe they could go a little deeper next time. Maybe if they sought out their friends instead of the other way around. Rey was trying. They all were. Marle appreciated that, even if the voice in their head and the inability to adapt to this shifting situation lingered.
“I’m sorry,” she said.
Marle looked to her, bewildered, “why are you sorry?”
“I didn’t - I didn’t act fast enough.”
“I’m not angry at you.”
“…I would be.”
“Why?”
“I didn’t do my job.”
“Your ‘job’?” There was a slight bit of hurt to the younger sibling’s voice.
“I’m your sister. Your sibling. Your friend. Whichever way we want to say it, I care about you, and I failed in being there for you. I’m sorry about that.”
“I guess I failed too, then. I didn’t really help you either. Especially after you…passed.”
It had been the first time it had been spoken about between them. For once, Rey didn’t instantly jump in. Neither did Marle. They both processed what was just said.
“You didn’t fail me,” Rey decided on.
“Then how can you say that you failed me?”
Fair point. The feelings stayed, however.
Marle sighed, then slightly chuckled, “I think this is the first time we’ve actually spoken to each other.”
Rey nodded, “I’m glad we are now. I just…I just don’t like that I took us so long.”
Marle shrugged, “we never really had any experience with it.”
Rey snorted. That was true.
“I’m glad we’re trying to,” she nudged them slightly. They nudged her back.
“When do you leave to start building the order again?”
“A few months,” she said, “still preparing.”
“Are you scared?”
“Terrified. What if - what if I fail them?”
Marle looked to Rey with a soft look. They put a hand on her arm, “you haven’t failed me,” they said, “you’re a good person, Rey. The darkness calls to you, as it would all of us —“
“But what I came from, Mar…I’m glad I have my actually family still here,” she said, putting a hand on their’s, “but…I don’t know. Sometimes my blood scares me. What it can do. What I can do. What I could do.”
“You aren’t your blood.”
“But I feel like at any moment…maybe I could be. Maybe it could all go wrong in a moment of anger —“ Rey took a shuddering breath. She blinked a few times, the tears still being there unfortunately.
Marle took their own breath, hugging Rey instead as they looked to the lake.
“We’re not doing so good, are we?”
“We’ve been better,” Rey laughed, running her fingers through Marle’s hair.
When she looked at that binary sunset and declared the name of her true family, she meant it. She always will. She’s a Skywalker, not a Palpatine. Blood meant less and less to her each day. But still, there was a part of her gnawing at her. A rage at the world for all it had done to herself and Marle. She overcame it with Palpatine. She did. But she hated that it was still there. That it hadn’t fully left her.
She supposed, in some way, just as those feelings of inadequacy and self hatred continued to bubble in Marle, despite the efforts of the others and the impact they had each had on the younger individual.
She let herself go lax, weight leaving her once again. She let herself see that the battles never ended. Apart of that drove her mad, another part made her look down at her younger sibling, seeing them looking to the water with a mixed look.
“Maybe —“ she sniffled, “maybe we just…maybe we just take it one step at a time. You and me, yeah? Both together and separate.”
Marle nodded, “I can try that…” they’re hiccuped, “I can try that.”
“That’s all any of us can ask.”
Marle hugged Rey tighter, “you’re a good person, Rey Skywalker.”
“And you, Marle Skywalker,” she pushed them back slightly, making sure they met eyes, “are someone who deserves all the space to understand your emotions and move in your own time. You understand me?”
They nodded. Rey mirrored it.
It wasn’t perfect. It was some sort of start, however. An acknowledgment. They weren’t fully ok. Still not fully fine with all the bad things that happened. Maybe they never fully would be. Maybe those scars would never fully heal.
That was ok. Well, not ok, but at least understandable.
They didn’t have to bare it alone, however. They had each other, the siblings of the sand; but also the new people added to that family. The people of the resistance and the Jedi.
They had to look back at some times to move forward; and also look back to see how far forward they had come.
It was an odd push and pull. Maybe they’d never fully master it. But they could try. They could do that at least.
That was all anyone could do.

Please do not interact with this blog if you kin any of the following:
Emperor Palpatine (Nothing personal, just would rather not explore memories of Palpatine if I can avoid it)

Introduction:
Hi! I'm Nikolas (but you can call me Anakin)! I'm an adult (18+) and I use He/She/They pronouns interchangeably. This is one of my many kin side blogs! My main is @kinnie-nik (this is where I will be following from).
What to expect from this blog:
Mostly memories! And probably some canoncalls (mine or others'). I'm also very Soft for Padme, Luke, Leia, Ben, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Rex, etc! So you can probably expect some SFW PDA concerning them!
In my timeline I did become Vader, so if you're uncomfortable or triggered by talk of Vader, this may not be a comfortable space for you. I understand, no hard feelings. ❤️ Stay safe.
What NOT to expect from this blog:
I will never post things that paint Palpatine in a positive light! If you kin Palpatine, it's nothing personal. Just- my Palpatine was Pretty Bad!
What is Kin:
Kin seems to be different for each individual. I personally view it in a spiritual aspect. I believe that each of my kins were past lives. This refers to the multiverse theory. I do have memories of these past lives, and I'm very serious about it.
That said, if you don't view it as past lives, that's fine! You're valid. So long as you do not attempt to say things like: "You can't have been Anakin! He's fictional!" or "Past lives aren't real!"
That said, I'm not going to tell you that you HAVE to agree with my views. That would be wrong of me to do... My views are exactly that, MY views! Each person may feel differently, and that's okay!
Respect my beliefs and boundaries, and I will respect yours. ❤️

I think I love the OG Trio so much more than any of the other trios bc they’re all just loose canons.
Like Obi-Wan is a baseline Jedi. Padmé is a politician with a snarky side and Anakin is crazy. Rey is the Chosen One, Finn is the one with a complicated past and Poe is a Pilot. Some of them can be a bit rebellious at times, but the others reign them in.
But literally Luke, Leia and Han are just off the rails.
Leia is leading a rebellion at 19 and still makes time to fistfight anyone who comes in her way. She’s always arguing and picking fights but she’s like 4’9.
Luke is a 19 year old farmboy who looses his family and then just decides to leave the planet with a space wizard. Then, while on a giant metal death trap in space, Luke decides to run off and save a Princess bc he’s an idiot with a huge heart. And then he becomes the last space monk, and pretends to be serious all the time, but you can tell he’s just faking everything, Luke never has any idea of anything. He’s just there trying to do the right thing.
Han is a criminal who fights in the Rebellion bc he got emotionally attached to the Skywalker twins. He does not want to be there. He just wants to make sure they don’t die. But Han is so. Foolish. He ends up almost dying more than them. And he just picks up Leia all the time.
All three of them are just bullshitting their way through Star Wars.
Moral of the story-
Han Solo : How we doin'?
Luke : Same as always.
Han Solo : That bad, huh?

It took me a while, but I’m finally here with my celebration for reaching the incredible milestone that is 9k followers, I’m celebrating with a special event: drabble prompts for underrated characters! 🎉✨
They are basically drabbles and prompts put together, since they’re formatted like a drabble but requested with a prompt provided, in this case them being tropes we all love. There is an additional twist, it being that this celebration will be focusing on underrated characters, being it a combination of characters that deserve more love as well as some characters that haven’t been requested much and that I’m inspired for.
While this celebration is happening, THE OTHER REQUESTS WILL BE CLOSED so I can focus on writing these without getting overwhelmed.
REQUEST A DRABBLE PROMPT:
Choose up to three prompts from the tropes list below
Choose one character from the list (include full name and fandom!)
Include the relationship with reader (platonic, romantic, familial...)

Ma'am I have read the new All My Roads chapter 3 times since you posted it, I'm in love. Anakin's "If you have to" hurt me so bad, it was fantastic.
I have to tell you tho that for some reason my head has decided that combining this with "what's mine is yours is ours" would be peak comedy and has developed the crack theory that in the end it turns out Obi-Wan's baby isn't actually Set's at all and Anakin is somehow still the Chosen one in this modern au enough to imbue Obi-Wan with a child via the power of his love
LOL can you IMAGINE!! baby rey grows up looking so much like anakin that he's like 'should we....should we get her dna tested? i read that that could happen, like....if you want it enough......babies can grow.'
obi-wan has to put down his book to stare at anakin. he can't believe he is about to have a 'where babies come from' chat with his alpha. "And where did you read that, Anakin?"
"um....."
"Anakin, where did you read it."
"....a romance novel i download for free onto your kindle...."
obi-wan pinches the bridge of his nose. now he has to make sure anakin knows that rey is not biologically his child which means bringing up set, by name, which always puts anakin into a mood. AND his algorithm for recommendations for books will be ruined.

Text
I hate a LOT of the newer movies, but nothing more than taking away Luke’s family, making Ben Han’s son who kills him, straight up ignoring Anakin, Jacen and Jaina (an actual canon Chosen One and not just speculation like it’s in her wiki and everything) and making the Sith rise again through the Skywalker line like some sort of curse.
So. From hence forth, just know, Ben is Luke and Mara’s son when I mention Mando posts with him. Anakin, Jacen and Jaina are Leia and Han’s kids. Grogu get’s to play with all of them. Luke and Mara are happy with their son and students. Leia and Han’s worst relationship issue is dealing with bounty hunters coming by to try and kick Han’s ass. There are force ghosts hanging around to chill at Skywalker/Organa BBQ’s and the Mando in the corner is very confused at why people are attending a BBQ through holo projection lmaoooooo. Din finds kiddo Rey on a random rock and immediately adopts her, brings her back to Luke’s school one day when he’s picking up Grogu for family day, learns she’s possibly as attuned to the force as Daddy Vader, only to realize that Anakin (who didn’t have a male parent, is an imperfect clone of his mother) is the progenitor of this delightful little confused baby who’s an imperfect clone of him, and is therefore, also one of the Chosen Ones. Now Din has two kids enrolled in Luke’s school, and Grogu is coping with no longer being an only child. Badly.
