Repurpose Swap au
(Warning: This Au was created before part 2 was released, so no Cherry and Feya yet, and some spoilers)
Basically in this Au, the human love interests turn into demons or angels and the demon and angel love interests turn into humans, but the MC is still human
Kalei: A great believer with a good heart who probably went to church every day, was extremely confused when he died and woke up in the garden with the others. He chose Utopia and didn't even consider going to hell, he had a fight with Ramon when they were exploring limbo. His route in this universe would begin when Kalei and the MC share the room and would involve his insecurities about not being able to enter Utopia, a route very similar to Rosita from the original but with the difference that Kalei manages to enter Utopia.
Ramón: A seductive man and cult leader, Ramon really thought he would be tortured in hell when he died in prison, imagine her surprise when he wakes up in Jardin do Limbo and near his ex-girlfriend who had died. Ramon knows he will never enter utopia and doesn't understand why the world is giving him a chance to do that, after he goes to hell together with the MC. His route would involve him questioning himself and why he is having a good life even though he was a bad cult leader. In this route, Ramon would definitely jump a lot between being a charismatic seducer and someone who is having an existential crisis, being a very slow romance with the MC.
DJRK: Fallen Angel, they did not agree with the way Utopia got into several fights with the Choir (Especially Dominio) which caused them to be expelled to Limbo, becoming the guardian of the residents there. DJ would be more impulsive to this universe, trying to protect all those who wanted to make limbo a home. They are definitely the type of people who are always saying they can handle it but are very close to breaking mentally. On this route, Mc will definitely have to be very responsible to deal with them.
Mitts: An extremely creative angel who is passionate about technology, probably always talking to humans about how technology on earth has changed so that she can increasingly improve Utopia technologically. She is the teleporter and responsible for helping humans enter Utopia with the help of her technology. On this route the MC will help Mitts to help others, at some point Dominio will appear saying that the results are not acceptable and that Mitts' technologies are more of a hindrance than a help. In short, in this route, the MC must help Mitts prove to Dominion that her technology is beneficial to Utopia's interests.
Rosita: A Demon that is responsible for convincing as many humans as possible to choose hell over utopia. Let's say everyone was surprised that this honey bun was a demon and not an angel. She also owns a restaurant that resembles a Diner from the 90s, and probably offers jobs there to those new to hell. But before being a demon she was a human who failed to meet the requirements of utopia, and this feeling of failure has always accompanied her since she was alive until today. Her route would be for MC to help her at her restaurant and help Rosita overcome her insecurities.
Noel: He was definitely a goth in life and as Kalei was a very religious person, when he died he would definitely go to utopia but was attacked by a geist, which made it impossible for him to take the tests to enter utopia. His initial route is when the MC refuses to go to Utopia and stay with Noel and DJ in limbo. The route would involve the MC helping Noel adapt to his life in limbo and battles against the Hordes, at some point Noel would become the King of Limbo and would surprisingly renege on the deal with Dominio and say that limbo would be fine without the utopia help.
Irene:Irene was a frustrated woman in life just accepting everything that came in front of her without hesitation just trying to do what any human being should do. Which resulted in a frustrating high school relationship, a frustrating job until his frustrating death. It was quite surprising for her that there was life and death and she saw it as a way to start over and be a new Her. In this route the MC will help Irene to discover herself as a person and help her life stop being so frustrating, Ramon will also be part of it as a little jealous of the Mc, but probably understanding that he and Irene would never work...
Okay, I must admit that there were some that I had more ideas for than others but I'm happy with the result.

Hi Sam! So…here’s the thing.
I know Irene’s Straight, and of course I’ve accepted that lol. Also, when I first saw her, I didn’t care as much, but when I actually started to think about it, I thought about that SpongeBob meme:
“OH NO, SHE’S HOT! 😭😭😭” lol
Tumblr media
Yes, yes she is~

Ru'aun Culture HCs
Charms
Charms are a common practice in which a small trinket that symbolizes status, character, and accomplishments is worn by the receiver as a symbol of their growth.
All of Ru'aun as well as all of Galruk have some association with charms in their society.
Tu'la does not have any culture involving Charms specifically.
It is not uncommon for a Ru'aun local to be covered in jewelry.
Charms are usually expressed as an accessories (commonly jewelry), but can also take the form of a tattoos or (in the case of the more unhinged) carved out skin. These are referred to as "blood marks", these kinds of charms are considered to be more permanent, and are well respected in the region. A Blood Mark is considered sacred, an intimate vow under the religion of The Matron (Irene), and are heavily encouraged to be upheld by the reciever, often under threat of scrutiny.
Most people only recieve am average of five charms in their lifetime. They are VERY expensive to make, and can be extremely time consuming if you decide to make one yourself.
The idea is to be as unique and identifiable as possible.
Occasionally Charms will be the marker to an unrecognizable body.
Blood Marks and Charms are not always chosen by the reciever. Occasionally a charm will befall a reciever as a punishment and are purposed to bring shame. In the worse cases Blood Marks will be put upon a reciever via forced tattoos or permanent incisions into the skin. Unfortunately despite the nature of a Blood Mark the "vow" is still expected to be honored, regardless of the receiver's sentiments they too will be under threat of scrutiny if they fail to comply to the conditions of their charm.
Occasion for Charms:
Personal Accomplishment - if a reciever or anyone feel that the reciever has overcome a feat worthy of such a gift. Common for milestones, recovery, and aging. However this depends on the receiver's access to martial to make such trinkets. Wealth, energy and time all go into Charm making, it is not to be taken lightly.
Baby Bands - Baby Bands are the most common Charm. It is to celebrate mother and child after labor and ward off disease and malicious spirits from the vulnerable new mom and her babe. Traditionally, lord, guard, farmer or otherwise it is the duty of the father to personally craft this Charm as a show of his loyalty to his family. Baby Bands are made to be bent and trench so that babies can wear them into adulthood.
Familial Charms - These are Charms that represent the family you are either born into or adopted into. Blood born children are given their familial Charms at an age where they are less likely to kick the bucket. Adopted members are given their Charms immediately upon their adoption ceremony. If siblings, cousins, uncle/aunt, or any other familial unit feel like they have a significant bond with the reciever then that would also facilitate a Charm. Sibling Charms are traditionally facilitated and commissioned by the parents, but siblings can make all sorts of Charms between one another.
Casual Charms - low steaks Charms. These are usually inexpensive, and resources conscious. Can be simple trinkets repurposed into accessory. Common among children.
Relationship Charms - similar to familial Charms, but between relationship that aren't defined by a familial bond. Common in dating/exes, between mentor and student, between familiar and witch/warlock, between close friends, and guardships of a village.
Marriage Charm - Instead of rings married couples wear golden or sliver bands around their neck in a choker like fashion. This is the only Charm worn in this way. This, in the majority of the population, will be the most important Charm in a receiver's life. Some, if they are truly committed to their partner have the permanence of their bands tattooed around their neck. This is very serious, and the practicer of Blood Marks will not tattoo young marriages, the couple has to be able to stay together for life (under threat of tarnishing their vows), and after the passing of their spouse they cannot seek a new lover.
Examples (angst)
Travis cannot get Blood Mark. They refuse to appear on his skin.
Travis only had two Charm when they found him. A necklace of beads from his mom. And a baby band, made to celebrate mother and child after birth. It wasn't gifted from his mother. And it wasn't gifted from the Enki Warrior Tribe either.
Donna and Logan have their bands tattooed.
Aphmau adult adopted him and, because she also didn't start out with many Charms or show of affection she then continued to shower him in as many Charms as she could get away with.
Vylad got very few Charms before his death. He keeps pieces of the ones he did get on one gaudy looking chain. He never wears it. But he has it.
Vylad does not have a Baby Band
Malachi only recieved a Baby Band as he did not grow past the point in which he would recieve a familial Charm.
When Aphmau was found she had no Charms of any sort. The "MCD Rebirth" markings are assumed to be strange tattoos. Maybe of religious origin?
For a while she goes without any Charms. Even her ceremony to lordship was skipped because of the urgency of the situation. So the concept of a Lord's vow ceremony was absolutely knew to her.
Charms had to be explained to Aphmau, like all things usually are. She very quickly became completely enamored by the idea and very badly wanted Charms of her own.
In the earlier days when she met someone with very flashy Charms she became very invasive/obsessive/jealous. (Insert Laurence here) *poke, poke, poke*
Laurence, has an unusual amount of Charms when they first meet. The children of lord's usually had more than their peers, but Laurence was out of the norm even for that. Comparing the size of Meteli and O'kasis, Garroth had 17 Charms, Laurence had 20. Bracelets, necklaces, earrings, hair bands, even an ankle bracelet. Our boy was bedazzled.
Aphmau then proceeded to ask about EVERY SINGLE piece of jewelry on his body. He doesn't mind the very throughou attention
Lords are tattooed with Esmund's sigil of protection on the day of their ceremony, vowing them to protect their people against all threat
Aaron was given a similar tattooing, his failure to uphold his end of the vow leaves him as a social outcast, assumed damned by Irene herself (ironic). This also led to the immediate assumption that he murdered the entirety of his village.
Guards use a smaller scale tattoo when they knighted, usually on the wrist. A simple form of the symbol they serve under (I'll get into that in a later post).
Laurence's Knighting Charm was the sigil of Irene. A symbol of love in this case.
Laurence had a mysterious plain silver band around his tiny fist as a child, this is assumed to be a hastily made Baby Band.
Laurence also received a Personal Charm from his superiors who all chipped in to buy him a set of earrings. The gift was made fondly out of respect for Laurence's advanced progression and his achievements as a remarkable protegee. But also it is a departing gift from his time in the achedemy, as Laurence was always a class favorite. The symbol is that of the two brightest star in Kul'zack's Constellation (I'll get to that in another post also).
He recieved this symbol because of his adventurous young spirit, and reputation as a desired Casanova. But also it was a symbol of insisted encouragement for Laurence to travel and invest himself farther than the little village of Meteli as he "could well be a candidate for the jury of nine". This insistence was in opposed to Laurence's desire at the time of his graduation, then he wanted to be grounded, close to his family, and settle...eventually. This teenage sentiment was very quickly scrapped as Laurence along with his ego grew outside of the predicted small shell of Meteli.
Laurence saw Garroth wearing only one earring once, and thought it was a fantastic fashion statement so he copied it with his own.
As a joke by the fellow Meteli guard Laurence was given a Charm with a chicken design to symbolize his relationship with the Chicken Shaman. He unironically loved that thing.
Laurence, in his bond with Ungrth created a Charm. It was the first he'd made himself, a milestone of high esteem, especially for a loved one. Luckily the wyvern understood the importance of this human ritual, and was kind enough to help. Ungrth's magicks eased the struggle of the craft, and it actually ended up being quite the looker. A sliver band with give rubies enfused which each face, Ungrth's favored treasure, between each ruby was a square of designs, small gaps that were supposed to make up the shape of thorns and roses, but ended up being pretty little swirls....and what was supposed to be a bracelet ended up being a ring, and Laurence wasn't a big fan of wearing rings, but he was very proud of himself. He proceeded to show off the Charm for weeks... on a chain of course, because he did not like to wear rings.
Cadenza is VERY jealous of this piece of jewelry. And she insisted that Laurence create a similar charm for the both of them...despite their already established Familial Charms. He tried, but he could not create the same flawless look. Cadenza was disappointed, but still, after nearly twenty years she wears her gold bracelet with messily scattered emerald stones.
In his transformation to a shadow, under Gene's order Laurence was stripped of his Charms. This is a common practice in The Nether, but usually is done of free will. But Gene knew that Laurence wouldn't follow this practise. And he knew that the forced removal of the physical symbols of the young guards humanity and former life would cause the man great distress. So Gene not only took Laurence's Charms, but he melted them down in front of him with his blade (shadowknight metal is HOT guys). He made an ugly looking dagger out of it, and returned the distorted Charm as a gift for his "rebirth ceremony". Laurence cried.
Warning - Sadness: After his return Laurence tried desperately to restore his ruined Charms. He tried all sorts of methods to repurpose the jagged gold tinted metal. But nothing he did could even dent the dagger. He cried. He cried a lot. He still held on to it, obsessively, like one day it would suddenly change back and grant him his hard earned humanity. (He eventually did get rid of it - left it at the foot of the nether end of season 2)
Gene allowed Laurence to keep Ungrth's Charm. Not for any particular reason other than the fact he thought, "the color looks pretty" on Laurence. But because Gene is- Gene he ruined that too. He didn't melt the sliver, but he heated it enough to permanently char the ring black, distorted to match the black and red colors of The Nether.
When Laurence buried Ungrth, unlike his dagger, he buried that ring with him.
Laurence is now Charm-less. He's made many more achievements, relationships, and has risen in status and title multiple times. Occasions that would warrent the recieving of a Charm. But he outright rejects new Charms, or the suggestion of them. He's been fairly honest about why, Laurence has always been able to give the closed case answer of "The Nether" as an explanation, and has never been asked to elaborate further. But he'll never really get into how watching as his identity was destroyed before his eyes and simple it down to... a weapon. It was all too symbolic, too close to a truth he didn't want to see. In Phoenix Drop, alongside companions and family he knew he was allowed to live under the illusion of picking his old life back up, and has been able to ignore the fact that in summary, like his Charms, he had to start all over. And that is a reality he refuses to accept.
He jokes that he'll finally accept a Charm when he and Aphmau get wedding bands. This is a half truth.
Laurence's shadowknight body is too resistance to keep tattoos. His initiation tattoos had long fizzled out of his skin, to his dismay. And he recieved a knighting tattoo for his guardship in Phoenix Drop, but to his disappointment it soon faded as well. He could no longer use his body to show human commitments. Nothing he did would be permanent in that intimate way again.
Laurence has recieved only two Charms since his transformation. The first was a mear ribbon, an uncommon form of Charm, it is his guardship Charm between himself, Garroth, and Dante before the Irene Dimension. This Charm was tied around his sword. The second was from Levin. The young lord never asked if he wanted one. After being in the Yaggdrasil forest for so long he wasn't completely accustomed to the unspoken contract of Charm-gifting. But he was desperate to finally get to practice the culture of his people (he'd already covered Malachi in whatever metal he could bend into a bracelet in their childhood and teens). He was so excited, Laurence couldn't bring himself to tell the boy "no", so he took the Charm with grace. He made matching ones for himself, Dante, Laurence and his mommy because Levin is a sweet boy 😊.
The Chicken Shaman himself gave Laurence a Charm... of sorts. The Shaman was not too unfamiliar with the practice of Charms, but he saw it as lowly and pathetic... so perfect for Laurence. He was given a green dyed Chicken Feather. A VERY unique taste. Laurence didn't wear this item a lot, like one would other Charms, but he'd rock it on occasion. He'd thought he'd lost it after he went to The Nether, but in reality Cadenza has it in her inventory. She was so proud of herself when she found it. An untainted Charm from her brother's past, one he could touch and feel and look at without the remainders of The Nether. And with any luck he'd wear it. And with even more luck he'd move past this refusal to create new Charms. She'd planned to return it to him. To surprise him. And she waited to do so, for the perfect moment. And she waited. And she waited she waited. And she waited. She's been starring at it blankly for the last 15 years.
Garroth was given the tattoo of his family sigil placed at his shoulder. He was "gifted" the charm at an unreasonably young age (7ish) in order to ensure his obedience to his family. This did not work. When Garroth started a new life his first course of action was to remove himself from all previous vows. This resulted in Garroth having to remove the Charm on his shoulder....
Secondly Garroth removed all of his other charms as well. Both to hide himself from O'kasis, and as a show of guilt of being now unable to fulfill any of his vows, or live up to any of his previous characteristics as a son of O'kasis (but he had more fun removing his Charms of Status). He ended up having to sell the majority of them in order to fund his undercover journey from O'kasis to Phoenix Drop. Out of all 17 of his Charms he kept only three.
Garroth's Charms:
One of which was a personal gift from his mother, a necklace of Irene's sigil, intended to keep The Matron's love close to his heart (ironic). It's not too special as this is a common charm, set apart only by the encrusted Lapis Lazuli, he was given the charm as a child, just after his tattooing, not for achievement or status, but for simply existing. He now where's it under his armor.
The second was from Vylad... an earring his youngest brother had forged himself out of steel in their teen years, it was originally a pair but Vylad messed up the other in his amateur attempt. It's the terrible design of The Wanderers sigil, and it looks more like an ugly snowflake, but it showed how much Vylad knew his brother, as he knew he wanted to be free of O'kasis. In his grief Garroth dare not wear the charm, even after Vylad was revealed to be alive, to him this charm is a symbol of brotherhood, and after Vylad, then Zane, and Zenix... that too has become an identity he feel too distant from to claim. He wore it for a short while when he became closer with Laurence, but even that was squandered when he was so rudely reminded of his past when Zane waltz in like the Queen of England. He wore them again for another brief period after his return from the Irene Dimension, but after Laurence left.... he felt alone. He felt farther from the brother he was once raised to be than ever. He truly considered throwing the thing in a river never to be seen again to which he broke down in sobs :'( he now wears it consistently as a symbol of failure and shame.
And lastly the third. Another personal gift. From Zane... this was the only sentimental gift that Zane had ever given him. Ever. It was truly thoughtful, and seemingly unprompted. In their childhood whilst playing they manged to completely shatter their mother's expensive porcelain vase. The decor meant a lot to Zianna, she never disclosed why. But in a desperate effort to stray from disappointing or even worse upsetting their mother (something they commonly tried to avoid since Garte had picked up that hobby ten fold) the two brothers collaborated to repair the vase. It was terrible, they did not succeed. When Zianna found out she was distraught of course, but seeing what her normally estranged sons had done together was a far greater gift than any ancient vase. She showered them in praise, but in no uncertain terms lecture them to stop running in her personal chambers. But she was happy, very happy, possibly the happiest she'd ever been. In their teens, like Vylad, Zane gave Garroth a unique charm, though he had it commissioned instead of making it himself. It was a sliver ring, encapsulated in glass covering was in fact a shard of the long discarded vase. A piece Zane had kept. Behind the shard was a single petal to an orchid, the flower housed by the shattered vase. Their mother's favorite. Garroth was stunned, he's still stunned. The gesture confuses him to no wits end. When he looks at it makes him angry. It makes him sad. It makes him sick. When he looks at that accursed ring he feel so unbareably lost and alone. An once good memory now turned cold and lifeless...But he wears the ring. Everywhere he where's the ring. He has never once taken it off. Not once. He's never mentioned it, nor it's importance, and he never plans to. It's of no purpose to him, not a reminder of shame, nor honor, nor duty, or even happiness. It brings him nothing, and if he somehow lost it he wouldn't bat an eye. But he has never put himself in a position to lose it, or got rid of it himself. It has been years now... too many years. The Ring itself was grimy, dented by battle, the smooth surface now rough, crevices filled with unknown crust, but somehow, after all these years the orchid petal never seemed to wilt...
Bonus:
If you asked Zane about this charm now he'd claim that it gesture of severance. The final 'piece' of his childhood removed from himself. But not even he I truly certain of that answer. In truth he cannot say why he gave Garroth such a gift. The action confuses even him, and frustratingly he can't recall the sentiments he had at the time.
So no one really knows the intentions of this gift. An neither brother can truly identify its meaning.
I don't know if these hcs will be anything more than implied within my continuation, but I've thought about them enough to post them somewhere. But y'know...don't go and read it or anything 👀...

More Lantern Hill posting! Will attempt to keep this brief as I also have to draft tomorrow's F&H readalong post lol.
CH. 17:
Dad had bought a dish-pan that day, but neither of them had thought about a dish-cloth or dish-towels. Jane got two new undervests out of her trunk and slit them open.
Obsessed by how Jane immediately repurposes one of the unnecessary clothes from Gay Street and uses it as a functional tool of her new life. Talk about reclamation of power.
Also a strange, soft far-away sound—the moaning call of the sea. The night seemed to be filled with it. Jane heard it and something deep down in her responded to it with a thrill that was between anguish and rapture. Why was the sea calling? What was its secret sorrow?
The sea runs through all of LMM's PEI books, yet this seems to be her most oceanic novel as far as I can tell. Only Anne's House of Dreams, and Leslie Moore's character from it in particular, uses the sea as a theme to this extent.
CH. 18:
Jane broiled [the codfish] and her face as well, and it was delicious.
Such an accurate description of cooking. If you're not physically altered by the act, did you really make a good meal?
Her foot was on her native heath and her name was Jane.
Names also define this book to a huge extent. Yes, we saw that with Valancy vs. Doss, but in TBC, Valancy never seemed to doubt she was Valancy. It was a mark of her otherness and used against her, but perhaps because she was older, it doesn't seem such a fundamental building block her identity the way Jane vs. Victoria is here. It's interesting how both Jane and Victoria are hereditary names, which may contribute to how fraught they are.
Dad brought home the ship clock with the dog. Jane found it useful to time meals by, but as far as anything else was concerned there was really no such thing as time at Lantern Hill.
LMM is really a master at creating enchantment. I would never have thought domesticity could be like fairyland, but Lantern Hill really is for Jane, and therefore for us.
CH. 19:
She had a sudden realization of the fact that this was not the first time dad had helped fix up a home…not the first time he had been nicely excited over choosing wallpaper and curtains and rugs. He must have had it all before with mother. Perhaps they had had just as much fun over it as dad and she were having now…more ... how could mother ever have left him?
This paragraph hurt me a little somewhere, and I think it lies in the fact that the moment when a child realizes that their parents were not always parents but once in fact had a life before your existence, something kind of shifts in your worldview. I can't quite remember if Jane has already pondered the circumstances of her parents' separation, but her actively thinking now of when they married seems to be a necessary--if perhaps painful--step forward in her maturity. And of course in the next chapter we begin to hear of Robin again.
CH. 20:
Aunt Irene was smiling, but there was an edge to her voice. Jane thought she would almost prefer grandmother's venom. You didn't have to look as if you liked that.
I would ALSO prefer Grandmother, Jane, which is saying something. God, this whole chapter makes me so mad. I hope Aunt Irene dances in red hot shoes by the end of this novel.
CH. 21:
Jane's letter to her mother is giving such Emily-writing-on-letter-bills-to-her-father: even down to having opinions on cows and including misspellings.

Week 2
I think it can be justifiably argued that Foucault turns the traditional and popular conception of transgression—which links the act of “going beyond” with sin, immorality, and illegality—on its head. Foucault, taking Bataille’s concept further, contends that transgression is not inherently negative; it does not dichotomize, subvert, or prevail over anything but merely “affirms limited being" (p35). I wonder if Foucault’s repurposing of a traditionally “negative” word (especially when used in religious contexts) is a deliberate act of subversion. Or would he prefer to classify it as one of transgression? Why not, after all, use a different word, with slightly less negative overtones, such as "transcendence" (perhaps not the best example)? AGI Conference
Reflection and Notes:
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone involved and those who gifted the tickets to me and my fellow students. It was my first design event and it did not disappoint at all. The lineup of speakers and panels was excellent and all amazing designers or creatives. This event introduced me to so many names, people and studios that I never heard of before, from international and local areas. They also showed such a rich and amazing collection of design works and contexts that I could never come across all in one place. The experience was one that I'll remember for a long time, and will hopefully guide me into my future design and creative endeavors.
Some overall points and tips that stuck with me and most of the speakers agreed upon was that you need to have an open mind when designing, and be able to express yourself through your work somehow. I.e. some designers had side projects that are self initiated, while others have clients that allow them to express their passion into the projects.
Stefan Seigmeister:
The speaker I was most looking forward to was probably Stefan Seigmeister because I have seen his work the most and came across him in year 1 already. He has a very clearly unique design style and collection of work which drew me to him. His talk was also very inspiring. He talked about a current project that shows statistics from the past few hundred years to the present day, and how it shows us the positive change that has already happened in the world. This does not excuse the bad things that happen in the world today, but is to appreciate what we have now, and to show that the world has changed in a positive way already. He also made a very interesting point that people are drawn to negative things. People are more likely to read a newspaper filled with bad news, compared to good positive things, "Its just more interesting". This can be directed into our design thinking and planning for projects. Do I want to use this to my advantage and design something depressing so that it is more interesting or do I want to bring a small positive moment into their life etc.. His talk got me thinking about things like this and how I can apply them into my current and future works.
Tumblr media
Taku Satoh:
Satoh was the first speaker of the event. He was very friendly and genuine and did a great job introducing us into the conference. He made some really interesting points on product design and tips that I can directly relate to for another course and my future design works. He showed an example of one of his own works for a whiskey bottle. The thinking behind the design was that the bottle has a basic and unoriginal form so that it may be reused around the house instead of thrown out and create waste. This idea relates really well to a current project designing a membership box. I have left it the box blank and rather simple with only a cutout resembling the logo, so that it may be reused and repurposed. This idea of repurposing can and should be used more often around product design to reduce waste.
Tumblr media
Irene Pereyra:
Irene is a UX designer but had many very interesting points that can be carried across to graphic design. Firstly, a big point that she made, which can be quite contreversial, is that beauty over function. Her reasoning behind this is that when something is beautiful, people are much more forgiving if it doesn't function as well. Ofcourse people have a limit, so it does need to function as well. but beauty should be at the forefront. This idea makes a lot of sense to me. This can be applied almost anywhere in the world, throughout many different categories or areas. Another example, if someone is beautiful, people are much more likely to give up their seat on a bus for them over someone who is considered unattractive. This concept should be considered while designing something, whether it be considered usable or not.

10 Wedding Dress Developments From Fall 2022 Bridal Fashion Week
For others, it holds sentimental value and symbolizes the transformation right into a bride, evoking feelings of pleasure and adrenaline while elevating a wedding dress. When Catherine Zeta-Jones married Michael Douglas in 2000, she opted for a timeless wedding dress with a V-neck, a fitted waist and an extended practice. Designed by Christian Lacroix, it was regarded as value $140k (or round £104k), and he or she completed off her regal look along with her hair in an elegant updo and a diamond tiara. Specifically, it's these releases that have the flexibility to change the course of bridalwear and establish developments that outline a generation. These shiny types are certain to dazzle and are good for the ceremony, reception and beyond. If you have been following the trends these previous few seasons, you'll know that mini dresses have dominated the bridal style scene over the past two to three years. And whereas mini ensembles are right here to stay, 2023 will produce totally different iterations of raised hemlines, like midi, ankle, and high-low designs. Brides ship me photographs of their wedding dresses, and I discover lace that matches it. Presently, I actually have 30 completely different tulles and textures, which are out there in varying shades of ivory. Then there are one hundred different sorts of shapes, motifs and lace. Thinking about how all the L-ackadaisy characters are villains, and I kinda wonder how true that is in the AU. Cause I feel more sympathetic for Mordecai, Silver, Rocky, and Viktor after exploring the circumstances that lead them to that point, and what a strong hold Atlas had on them. But it still can very much be argued that they all had a point in this where they could have walked away or simply declined Atlas' offer, so it's hard to say. If they are villains, they are still extremely sympathetic ones, which are my favorites, in all honesty.
(Spoilers for after main fic stuff)
So, during the main story, I definitely think most of them could be classified as villains for what they do and their overall demeaner and personalities. After the main fic, they mostly continue their acts of violence to survive the Marigold. At that point, I'm not even sure if the L-ackadaisy is really operating as a Speakeasy but rather, a base of operations. Although Serafine and Nico being there could certainly change the tide, Rocky, Silver (especially Silver's), and Mordecai's reluctance to bring anyone new into the fray out of fear of repeating Atlas' history makes me think it's kind of doomed to fall under and a lot of the characters don't actively care at that point.
That being said, I still think they'd continue being a crew in a lot of ways and looking out for one another. It is very likely the L-ackadaisy could be repurposed in some way as well, even if it's just a common area to house most of them. It's a very cool location, after all, and as Silver says, it could be anything, so long as they stick together.
I do headcanon Silver, Viktor, and Mordecai would end up opening a kosher bakery, because both actively make comments and jokes about Mordecai having a civilian life that involves that lol. Calvin, who left home at that point, would work there, I bet. The four might even move closer to Mordecai's sister Rose, since it was the career that was keeping Mordecai physically distant from her in the first place. I feel like Irene and Rocky could start their own business as well, though I am unsure what exactly (Rocky really needs to get out of that place, tbh).
However, whether this would be attached to any illicit business is difficult to say. Probably not but they'd still have their connections. Ivy and Mitzi would have a much easier time fitting back in as well, and I feel like some of Mitzi's charming behaviors and business smarts would work much better in any other circumstance where the competition is a bit more...reasonable. Wick would also be much more willing to help her in that instance, and he seems like the type that would have ideas of how to turn the caverns into something else, there is a lot of potential there.
Serafine and Nico are a harder one, especially since Serafine seems quite keen on the idea that she and Nico were meant for this life. I am unsure where else they'd get their thrills, but I don't think they or the others would mind that the two are still in the business and they aren't. I don't think it's the case of the cast suddenly growing a moral backbone that made them get out of the business but, rather, recognizing how it and Atlas destroyed their lives and could destroy their lives in the near future if they don't seek out other opportunities. But Serafine and Nico never had that issue, if anything, it had a net benefit for them, so I don't think there'd be any tension there.
I do think a lot of them would still keep their villainous traits, they just might put in more effort not to be more than slight menaces to society lol.

Okay, I'm gonna put this one here because it's technically not a build. It is a  secondhand guitar that I got in a trade, and I just wanted to kind of mess around with as it was a good shape/style (a tele shape, purposefully "Relic'd", deliberately made to look as if it had sat at the bottom of a swamp for 20 years. Or. 10. More like 5.) and I felt like I could make some decent mods, turn it into something unique. I like the old-school style of a bridge cover and so I found one that was a distressed copper-type finish, looked great with the body. I think I changed the pickups/wiring a little bit (hello, 5-way rotary tone switch!) and I changed the knobs as well (love chickenheads!). The next thing was the pickguard- I thought I could do something with it. I started to think about the options and everything that I could do and ultimately I came up with, how about a pickguard that has meshed gears, just a bunch of them, implying a machine in the inner workings. And I thought decals, and then I thought well, maybe I can get someone to paint them on. And finally, after the fourth or fifth trip to a craft store for inspiration, I realize they have these areas which have little tiny things for crafting. And there were three or four or five different bags of tiny gears among two or three different craft stores in the area. I also went online, and the "collecting gears" portion of the build was eye-rollingly long.
That was where it started, and this is where we've ended up. Found an incredible Gear Heart that I incorporated, and made the Gear Flower on the back of the headstock, and lucked into the Bee pin. In the time that I was finishing this, the clock that hung in my parent's house where I grew up died, so I repurposed the hands.
This probably took two years overall to get it to where it is today, and for a few months afterwards, I'd find another gear, or I'd find something else, some small thing to add or change, but ultimately I declared it Finished. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Who’s YOUR favorite Repurpose character Sam? Also, which one are you the most attracted to?
It's hard to pick since I did have a hand in writing a majority of each route and have a pretty good idea of each character's personality and traits and there's a lot to love about everyone
But honestly I was already devoted to and attached to Irene before the game even entered production and I jumped straight into writing her route and pretty much finished it near the start of production.
So she really did steal my heart and hasn't let go of it

MCD Zane Headcanons for @romeat
(tw religion)
- zane served as an apprentice to the previous high priest for a few years until they left suddenly to pursue science and grow a sick mustache
- zane and garroth are less than a centimeter apart in terms of height, but garroth's build and hairstyle makes him appear taller than zane
- zane might not have viewed vylad as a brother, but he did serve as an optimal guinea pig. most of zane's childhood expieriments were vylad tested until zianna eventually noticed.
- primarily he/they
- zane has magicks!!
- bday is 19-6, the date of his first ever appearence in anything ever
- yeah sure rebirth zane is cool and all but i personally subscribe to the og zane method of appearing kinda harmless and whipping out the evil when necessary. public perception is important to the high priest of that goddess who's whole schtick is healing and being good.
- due to garte's political pawn over person parenting strategy, zane sucks at forming connections with others and socializing outside of buisness matters.
- zane found esmund's relic when they were twelve or thirteen.
- "Zane Killed Prince Garroth" is a semi-popular conspiracy theory in okhasis, especially among non-zane stans.
- owns a fainting couch.
- even though his morals are lacking, its still zane's duty to uphold the standards of an Irenian priest. Every rule break is either a last resort that he has a solid excuse for (ex. the eastern werewolf tribe's plan to assassinate zane was treason against the alliance, and conspiracy against okhasis/irene hereself! there was NO other option but to set the while village on fire and stab everything in sight, just in case :3) or done with no witnesses who can snitch and be taken seriously (ex. falconclaw)
- zane doesn't have any house staff. he's generally a neat person, his house isn't big enough to warrant it, and its an easy way to ward off snooping.
- one of the major reasons zane is so infatuated with irene (and the divines in general) is because of the whole "unconditional love" thing. he's not sure why but the notion of some higher power who genuinely cares about your wellbeing with no consideration to her personal gain, who doesn't use love and affection as a weapon to mold you into what she wants you to be and demolish every little trait she doesn't like, who doesn't use her status as goddess to turn you into her own personal pawn, and wont totally abandon you to fix every single problem facing your family/village/region because she doesn't want to take responsibility for anything is nice in a way that he can't really describe, nor wants to unpack right now
- attention whore <3
- the two guards who are always standing behing him ended up getting married and settling down a few years after zane dissapeared into the void. they have a cat, so its like zane never left in the first place
- left handed
- weak constitution
- zane used to routinely straighten his hair, but stopped once he got more invested in the irene project and that war with scaleswind/pd started picking up
- has either the most or the least common sense in the room at any given time, no in betweens
- imitates the Lord of Scaleswind for funsies
- zane only knows what his funky cursed jewelry does 60% of the time, and whether or not it'll work can only be done through experimentation.
- funky jewelry that zane's tested and deemed perfectly "uncursed" and safe for general use are repurposed as actual gifts. sometimes he is wrong, like that time he gave away werewolf creating pendent that he deemed a safe dud because "i pricked my finger a few months ago and nothing happened"
- used to keep all his notes in garroths room when they were younger and lived with their parents. garroth spent a good chunk of the year at the guard academy, so there was plenty to time to rip up a floorboard or make a false drawer bottom without getting noticed.
- "lost" his communication amulet a few months before coming to pd, so he's not allowed to leave okhasis without guards. garte refuses to let him make a new one because "losing a communication amulet that can contact the entire okhasis elite is a prime example of how irresponsible he is" and he "has to earn trust" and "daughter of pikoro" and "takes after his mother" and "this is exactly why garroth is the hier"
- aaron stole it

Are there any other villages with specific ways they dress?
Yes, there are.
The werewolf village, for one. Because yes, they ‘dress’. Not in the typical way, but hey. Usually, their dress usual involves a lot of jewellery, typically with beads and shards of gems and stuff, quite a bit of religious symbols and runes, and those with human forms dress the same in said human form (however rarely), only with a piece of cloth tied around their waist for modesty reasons. Werewolf children also steal a lot of clothes from brightport to fit in with the kids there when they go to play, so a lot of those clothes get repurposed into more werewolf-appealing clothes for their human forms.
The clothes of the people of Enki island are very thick and warm. Typically lined with wolf fur, or with the skin of seals and stuff. They also build their clothes with padding and almost body armour in it to protect them when some of them are stupid enough to go up the mountain to fight the demon warlock.
The people of scaleswind dress in very reddish brown colours. Very fancy, very refined. It used to be very similar to that of the Inner city of O’khasis, but after the war started, they began to break away and their style became very intricate. Certain patterns became very popular to embroider into clothes, they began to have their own religious symbols, some would even hide the name of Irene somewhere in the stitching of their clothes, typically near the chest, to always have a part of her near them.

FFXIVWrite 2021, Prompt #25: Silver Lining
The irony of a traitor in frumentarius's clothing is not lost on Victoria. Well, a technical traitor. After all, she really had intended to surrender to the next Eorzeans she saw. It was just that she hadn't actually seen any. Not that it matters much now; Garlemald burns and her people roam feral. Then again, she's returning home to rebuild it from the ashes, not conquer it. Maybe she's not a traitor after all. Fuck's sake, Castellus. Less navel-gazing about the moral ambiguity of betraying a fallen homeland and more focusing on how not to get shot out of the saddle, please. At this rate, she'll outflake Wyda. Steel and brass, not anxiety and doubt. If Lee's sister ever reappears, Victoria probably owes her an apology for raiding her wardrobe, though Irene's armored coat languishes on a hook in Victoria's closet. While the additional layer of protection would have been useful, it's too long and too constricting to wear on horseback. The short carbon-and-cermet jacket that came with it fits her well enough, but it's meant to be secondary protection under a heavily-woven outer layer. Victoria opted to forge hers instead.
At first, her reading and observation had been for the sake of her job; if she's to flit around supervising a department's worth of smiths and welders, she probably ought to know what she's doing. Strictly business, of course, but if she's honest with herself, it's taken on a more personal angle for the better part of a year. Maybe she'd made up her mind to do what she's doing without realizing it. Her colleagues had noticed, though. Whether through idle curiosity or exasperation at her lack of subtlety when it came to hovering over their shoulders, a gaggle of them had taken it upon themselves to make sure she learned how things worked without lighting herself on fire. As she stumbled through the basics after working hours, they'd kept parking themselves with sandwiches in hand on any available surface to offer critique and commentary like a Sharlayan chorus. It had worked out in the end. To be fair, forging a cuirass and backplate wasn't exactly the most ambitious project in the world, even with repurposed Garlean steel, but it had worked. Probably. If nothing else, the arcanotechnical research division had earned themselves some very nice Starlight bonuses this year. But no celebrating. Not yet. Not while she's just staring down her rifle's iron sights, dawdling on the shot, and her armor hangs there untested. Funny. She's spent her whole life shooting, and the one time she's apprehensive with her finger on the trigger, it's during neither a competition nor a war. No one else is even there. All she has to hit is a bit of metal she's fucked around with, and yet. Fuck. She really should have just commissioned this. She should've gone to a professional instead of playing blacksmith for moons. It’s ridiculous, she's ridiculous, and of all the things to insist on doing herself out of some stupid fucking sense of pride, it just had to be something she'd undoubtedly fuck up and absolutely has fucked up-- Sod it. Victoria squeezes the trigger, and the round pings off steel and lodges itself somewhere in the dirt. It takes a moment before she can force herself to lower her rifle and step over to check.  No folly, no fuckup, no failure, only the proof mark she'd been seeking in a tiny dent from a close-range shot. Maybe she's learned something after all.
