I think I’ve become so heavily invested with Tak and Quell’s relationship because it’s not one built on physical attraction but rather respect and adoration for each other’s ideology and individual skill. there’s just something so poetic about them that has me so weak for them.

The show leaves me so so so frustrated because aesthetically, the show is beautiful - the set designs, the costume, cinematography, the cast, the colour; just that red-bluish lighting or the one by the river side in bright sunlight, amazing, the whole concept of it, the world building - the ability to change bodies to any apparent gender and still be you, keep the same mind, the religious angle, the Envoy/yakuza angle, stunt work but like some of the camera shots, the acting just displaces? me out of the scene.

  I watched an entire season of it but I don’t feel anything for any of the characters. I liked Takeshi Kovacs. All the 3 actors who played him in s1 alone but I mean as a character. This whole show is based on a concept that theoretically I know I’m very attracted to and yet... I’m not sure what it is.

 Loved the whole multilingual, multi cultural setting it has (it primarily shifted between Eng-Japanese-Spanish) Not used to seeing that in Western shows. S1, at least, however, doesn’t have a lot of main female characters who are not love interests. As far as I remember, there were only 2 such characters and one of them was an obsessive sister. Hah. 🤨 

So, hope there’s that improvement in s2. 

Also, how does the male lead only just have female love interests even in a situation like this? 🤔

There’s always that dreaded moment.

When you binge watch your favorite show only to find out at the end of the second season that it is not being renewed.

This ALWAYS  freaking happens, especially when it comes down to Netflix. Like bro, I know as a business you need profit but just give people time to catch on. I’ve been on Netflix for awhile and only just noticed the show a couple days ago. If there are a few shows they are worried about its profits, then they should broadcast it on the main page. Like put it smack in your face. Like a Netflix recommend tabs idk. There is a lot of old school shows and hidden gems on Netflix but you literally have to dig deep.

As for the cast, I think everyone did an amazing job. 

However.....I had a love-hate relationship with Mackie’s portrayal. On one hand, I definitely have to give it to him, he acted his butt off. However, I do feel like a lot of the personality or rather overall all feeling I got from Kinnaman was lost. It was just something amiss. I reaaaaallly loved Kinnaman but I also reaaally loved Lee. 

Like I don’t know if it’s because Kinnaman started the first season off is the reason I am having such a hard time. The chemistry between Mackie and Goldsberry is also there but I feel that it was so much stronger between Lee and Goldsberry and even between Kinnaman and Goldsberry in his hallucinations. 

Overall, I wonder if anyone started a petition for another season because they won’t know unless we demand, right? I hope something changes their minds. Now I am addicted to AC and feening for more.
