“I want you to have part of me until you can have all of me”
This scene just shows how much Henry really does love Alex, he’s willing to give him his signet ring, the thing Henry finds the most comfort in. The promise it symbolises is so subtle as is the gesture of Alex giving Henry the key to his home in Texas, the one thing that keeps him grounded. Both of them hand over something special, something that symbolises their love. The moment is so touching and shows the raw vulnerability between the two willing to say I love you with gestures not words.
“It’s like there’s a string attached to my chest and it’s pulling me towards you.”
This scene always gets me. Alex is so focused on the future and the bigger picture, especially after his conversation with his mother about making sure that this is a forever thing, and the one with his father about jumping and hoping it’s not a cliff. Alex is ready to lay himself bare, tell Henry he loves him, for him to be left confused and alone at the end of it.
