I just binged Recipes for Love and Murder and I absolutely love it! From Wiki because I'm bad at summaries:

To preserve her job for the local newspaper in the Karoo town of Eden, Tannie Maria Purvis volunteers to work for the paper's advice column. While offering her recipes to solve the local region's problems, one of her first letters comes from a local woman, Martine Burger, struggling in an abusive relationship. Despite the success of her new advice column, Martine is found murdered soon after, with the police, led by Detective Khaya Meyer, on the look for Martine's husband, Dirk, and her best friend, Anna Pretorius.

Maria Doyle Kennedy is fantastic as Tannie Maria (her mannerisms, her personality, her warmth—she’s lovely and plays the character with such emotional depth), but the rest of the cast is great too. The relationships between them—platonic and romantic—felt really organic and there were some truly moving moments

It looks gorgeous—the scenery, the cinematography, the use of colour! And the way food is filmed is so lovely. I yearn for Maria’s farm! It’s so serene

I'll admit, I was expecting a one case per episode type of story, and I wasn't sure about the mystery being spread out over 10 episodes, but it worked really well. I enjoyed the slow reveal of Maria's life in Scotland, too, and getting to know the people of the town through the troubles they send into the paper. Highly recommend!

I'm not sure if there's going to be a series two—there's definitely room for it—but I hope there is

Oh and I loved Maria’s chicken friend, Morag :D

I'm so excited about this show. It has been *years* since I watched a TV show I have been this invested in. They're filming a second season this year.

Finally finished Recipes for Love and Murder and I loved it! I hope theres another season of it!! (partly because I loved the show and am maybe a little attached to the characters, but mainly because I'll take any and all Maria content I can get!)

Maria and the detective were very cute together. I love how flustered she got in the end 🥰

And that they used another of Maria's song again!
