Quick rant on some stupid discourse

“This fandom doesn’t take horror seriously!1!!1!1 it’s just a bunch of ocs!1!1!1!1😡” Bro, Creepypasta has always been goofy af. Even the word“Creepypasta” sounds goofy. Literally every Creepypasta Character is someone’s oc, made my a traumatized angsty teen or young adult in 2011-2016. You expect us to read some silly shit like Jeff the Killer and be shaking in our boots? (Still like Jeff btw) Get real. I like the “realistic and scary” portrayals of the Creepypasta characters too! But I also love fanon. This fandom was literally based off fun. I hate when ppl come with this “im better than you” mindset bc they don’t like fanon/ want them to be scary only. I really can’t stand it. This fandom has always been based on fun and comfort. Everyone made the popular Creepypasta characters for fun and sometimes to vent/ be a self insert. Ppl are acting like we didn’t have comics and fics where they lived in a mansion together and chilled like a family with a y/n insert because ppl were comforted by these characters , myself included. Ppl act like we didn’t always have goofy/ silly fan art. Ppl act like these aren’t vent characters that brought comfort to lots of ppl. Ppl act like the creators themselves didn’t make silly, goofy fun content with their own characters. (Laughing jack, ticci Toby, bloody painter, etc for example all their creators drew them/ portrayed in fun ways in content I still rewatch) Let’s not forget our roots. Creepypasta (the character based side of it) is still so loved and popular because of the fun stuff like that that people can look back on fondly. Why does it make you so mad that ppl want to use the characters differently than you/ make fanon content? So these “ocs” are only decent/ okay when you use them your way and have your seal of approval??? Please be serious. This is coming from someone who likes Fanon and canon. One isn’t better than the other. You’re not better than everyone else because you want to make them “realistic and scary” let that mindset go. Let people have fun. Let people find comfort where they want. Seeing people having fun and being comforted shouldn’t make you mad. The block button exists and is free. Just block them and only interact with the side of the fandom you want to see. There’s multiple sides of it. I block content I don’t want to see all the time. Doesn’t mean I hate these people or their content, I just don’t want to see it personally. But I don’t go around unironically shaming people for content I don’t like. Because that’s dumb. (Unless it’s something awful like using offenderman, demonizing mental illness etc I have called people out for this, semi - respectfully before) Shaming people for not portraying Creepypasta characters made my angsty teens and adults in the way you specifically want to see them/ be portrayed is just so silly. This fandom doesn’t revolve around you and what you want. Or anyone for that matter. Respect other people. No one’s “better” than anyone. Because everyone sees and uses and portrays the characters differently and that’s always been the best part of this fandom. The freedom, creativity, fun and comfort. That’s how it’s always been. Nothings changed.

Creepypasta is inherently cringy. It's foundations are built on the backs of mentally ill teens and young adults from the late 2000s-2010s. Of course it's self indulgent, we were suffering and needed escapism. Of course some of the portrayals of mental illnesses are less than perfect, we were navigating an ableist world while struggling with said illnesses. Hell, many of us were being abused and the idea of a found family made it so we could make it through another day.

I've been in the creepypasta fandom since I was a little girl. 9 years old, in fact, 2009. The dawn of ARGs becoming popular. I've only recently began creating content because I felt the community has matured enough that if someone didn't like what I did, they'd move on rather than rant and rave over how garbage my art is. That's mostly the case. Mostly.

See, I'm seeing a rise in "mature" portrayals of these characters. Not NSFW "mature", that's always been there. I mean supposedly gritty, realistic, "made for adults" kind of spins. It'd be fine if the people doing it weren't fucking trampling on the heritage of the community in the process. We're a goofy community, and the slenderman is our dad that makes us waffles. We write bullshit, but still entertaining stories about serious topic, then put those characters in goddamn tutus. You can have your cake and eat it too. You just don't have to be unpleasant about it.

My favorite example of this duality is @carnalhaus 's Nine Jeff. His story is heartachingly sad, it's fairly realistic, it's got mature and NSFW themes at times, and yet... we've got art of him in a cat maid outfit. And it's fantastic. The duality of this fandom is what makes it so great. Shunning one part in favor for the other is just a fundamental misunderstanding of the media. Being all high and mighty about how "mature" and "realistic" your interpretation is isn't unique. It's sad.

And the Creepypasta fandom has always been a half/half of horror and fun. The dynamics between the two are what make the fandom so unique. Having fun with fictional horror characters is not the same as romanticizing serial killers, or disrespecting real life issues. As important as it is to handle serious topics with respect, we also need to understand that 1. The OG stories are barely serious in themselves 2. These are fictional characters made by kids back in 2010s for fun

You are absolutely free to value the horror aspects of the fandom. Personally I do enjoy deep diving into the more realistic and dark/disturbing/uncomfortable aspects of the Creepypasta characters in a psychological horror type of way, but there is a lot of beauty in taking something scary or horrible and creating something so full of love and joy out of it. To take something tragic or dark and make it into something lighthearted and happy is very human. Theres a lot of value in being able to enjoy things like that

I made a reference sheet for my version of Toby! ^^

In my version, Toby still kills his dad at 17 and after training, officially became a proxy at 19. However, he has been a proxy for 4yrs now. Media has given him the nickname "Ticci Toby" due to his tourettes. Its not a name he goes by nor' do his friends call him that. He actually hates the name and if someone were to call him that to his face, he'd likely deck them at the very least. He has facial hair and newer hatchets that include survival rope for when he's out in the woods. He still wears his hoodie, but it's a little small on him now that he's not a teenager and is more muscular in general. He keeps it safe the best he can because his mom made it for him and its the only thing he has of her.

His goggles and mouthguard serve a purpose in my version too other than aesthetic reasons. His goggles are actually safety googles with more ovular lenses rather than circular so he doesn't lose depth perception when wearing them. It protects his eyes from smoke. The mouthguard works as a ventilator to help him breath. This is so he can commit arson after his murders to hide evidence which is a signature to Toby's crimes specifically. The mask and goggles can work as separate items to be put on but can be attached to eachother by a button on the side of his ear in order to keep them secure on his face when he's moving around quickly.

Another thing I changed is his mouth gash. In the original there is no place of origin for them because its technically not cannon to the original story. So for him I decided to make it more subtle and realistic. He has mouth scaring instead from wounds he's obtained from victims over the years. Toby also has canine bites but he doesn't wear his peircing as much as he did when he was younger.

But yea ^^ idk if you would want to hear more, but I have a ton decided on him writing wise. If you would want to hear it, feel free to comment or ask. Anyways the drawing took 47hrs and 29m, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I did a lot of new techniques and experimentation with it. I ended up with 57 layers overall which is the highest amount I've ever had. I can't wait to draw more of him and creepypasta in general ^^

Artist intro for 2024! Decided for a more realistic approach.

Let's start with elaborating the text on screen:

I'm Emerson, or Ringo (cool name), but my persona and fursona is Poindexter, hence my username :3 My pronouns are he/him/his and not much else.

I'm eighteen (18) years old (my birthday is coming up though :D), and from western America, states such as Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, cowboy country :3

I'm a self-taught concept and comic artist, I have a fnaf (Five Nights at Freddy's) comic currently in the works and a creepypasta comic in the backrooms waiting to be worked on (my Kofi is linked to catch up to what's going on). I'm planning on going to college to be an art major, so looking forward to that.

The disabilities I listed are strictly my neurological conditions: autism, Tourette's, and a hearing impairment :3 I am mentally ill as well, having OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and possibly NPD (narcissistic personality disorder).

I have special interests in fnaf and creepypasta, and I've thought about them so hard for so long that they've turned into little pawns for my storytelling. I enjoy Legend of Zelda, TF2, and a little bit of Pokémon as well. They haven't quite reached the same level as my first two loves, but we'll see what happens.

And lastly, I am a bunnyboy. I enjoy bunnies, I relate to bunnies, my fursona is a rabbit, so therefore I am, a bunnyboy.

What a creepypasta series would look like:

We are imagining what a creepypasta series would look like irl trying to be as realistic as possible because the chances of this existing are very low, Idk this is just my opinion.

Live action or animation?

Probably would be animation, because there aren't many good actors out there willing to record a series like that. Also there's no big studio willing to make this series, the crp fandom is small and most people think that creepypasta is cringe, that's why I think it's easier to be animation probably made by fans.

3D or 2D?

Depends, can be any of them if not both. Is easier to this series be made by fans and most of the animators in this fandom make 2D animation, but it's not hard to be 3D by seeing most of the recent fan arts being realistic not only in the visual aspects, but also in the anatomy, poses and the characters souls.

Genre

For the genre most people agree it would be horror because is what creepypastas are, and it would be good to make them scary again and let the characters be portrayed by how they're really are. But it also could be comedy in some way because nobody is truly scared of most characters and creepypasta is outdated as a horror genre and most people nowadays sees this a something to laugh of, so why not be comedy?

What would the plot be like?

The plot could be something like telling the characters/the killers backstories and then them finding each others and fight or unite to eliminate a bigger enemy. Or it could be a main character that is an ordinary human, maybe an researcher looking for more evidences of the murder cases and end up finding the authors of the murderers and getting in trouble.

Ambient

For the ambient most people imagine woods and mist and it will be a very marking atmosphere for this series, but it also could include scenes in places with sunlight and moonlight to equilibrate.

Characters

The characters are owned by their creators and probably that some of them won't be in this series and that new ones will have to be created maybe.

❥･• So this is just some concept art of my own headcanon of Jeffrey Woods! I think that the most feasible explanation for his skin turning completely white is him having vitiligo. I’ve also decided to take out his eyelids being burned off and his hair turning black from being set on fire. It’s just my own personal interpretation though! Here’s a detailed explanation ◡̈🔪

𓈒 *❝Basically my headcanon is that his vitiligo began affecting him in childhood, however it became much more prominent in his teen years to the point where it even began affecting his hair and eye color (something that although extremely rare, is actually possible in certain cases). He was always an oddball and a recluse with concerning interests, but the stress from the bullying he suffered at the time definitely made his mental stability go from bad to worse. It got to the point where one of his tormentors went as far as to injure his face with a knife, creating a large ‘smiling’ cut on the left side of his face. He was hidden at home by his parents for several months to recover (and in a way, to avoid attracting attention), all the while his illness, worsened by all the stress, caused the white patches to spread until they covered his face completely. His eyes too were affected by his illness and went from brown to pale blue. In an effort to cover up the white patches in his hair and eyebrows, his brother came up with the idea to dye it, but accidentally made it too dark, something that Jeff actually liked and decided to keep. Eventually, he reached a breaking point and did what he’s known for by all of us - he cut his other cheek with a knife, creating a disturbing Glasgow smile, and k!lled his entire family, becoming the menace we know today.❞

I know it’s all a bit fantastical, but creepypasta was never all that realistic, and I personally enjoy this headcanon of mine a lot and wanted to share! It’s still a work in progress and I’ll be sharing more things in the future as I continue to work on it.

I have a few, they aren't many, I'm still going to write everything about each of my versions of creepypastas.

As the X-Virus was only created by his mother, who was negligent and a criminal, he taught himself to do any and all types of housework.

He is a very good cook, he loves cooking, even though he was forced to learn how to cook so he wouldn't die of hunger.

As his mother was a criminal and he sometimes saw what she did, he learned some tactics to steal things.

He is quick to make plans and put together strategies, sometimes he helps Toby put together some strategies and gives some tips too.

He does not feel empathy for people or animals, except for people he likes and who have value to him.

He doesn't feel sexual attraction and almost doesn't feel romantic attraction, it's very difficult for him to fall in love.

It's very difficult for him to trust anyone, he's reserved and suspicious.

He has a dark sense of humor and is sarcastic.{He was like that before, but it got worse when he met Toby.}

He is realistic, perfectionist and does not allow himself to be carried away by impulses.

Between the X-Virus, Heartless and Toby, the X-Virus is the most mature and responsible.

He can speak Spanish and a little Mandarin, and he is learning to speak Portuguese and German.

He has some scars on his body that were caused by his mother, who was very aggressive when she was drunk or drugged.

His experiments are very important to him, so he is almost always in the laboratory improving them or doing new experiments.

The most important person to him is Toby and the second is Heartless The Proxy.

The only weapon X-Virus uses is a baseball bat full of nails and his syringes that have lethal liquids inside, but he asked Heartless The Proxy for a weapon after he found out that Eyeless Jack was hooking up with Toby.

He is afraid of ending up alone.

X-Virus isn't very good at hand-to-hand battles, but Heartless forces him to leave his laboratory to improve this.

He's not a proxy, but he sometimes accompanies Toby on missions.

X-Virus helps Heartless take care of some animals she brings, Heartless always brings home an injured one.

X-Virus has stolen a lot of things, but the things he steals the most are cars.

He hates Slenderman for everything he did and does to Toby.

Hates noise, heat, drinks, drugs and people in general.
