Artha Elizabeth Marston, born 1901. Nicknamed Beth, she was conceived by accident at a time when no children should be born. Her first 6 years of life were defined by instability and constant trouble that her father could not help but find.
At 10 years old, Beth is wild and short-tempered. It's a rarity to see her with shoes, clean clothes, and neat hair all at once. Loves to run, jump, and climb everything in her vicinity; "You must have bones of iron because it's a damn miracle you haven't broken one," her mother says.
Talkative and eager to learn, she's drawn to horses, but isn't good at riding; in spite of that, she's up for the challenge. Unlike her brother Jack, she hopes to run Beecher's Hope one day in their father's stead.
life at the ranch is good for three years...

Babez I’ve finally started playing rdr2 (so far been fueled entirely by fandom n the odd play through) and i don’t think I can abide by Charles being characterised as stoic and silent all the time because oh my goodness greasy during the hunting trip in colter he is INFODUMPING at maximum capacity towards Arthur and omg he’s so funny in like a kinda cheeky way it’s just ARGGH it’s so cute but then around other camp members he’s so quiet.
Also I kinda noticed that he’s more emotive when speaking to Arthur especially during the hunting trip idk I just thinks that’s so ughgfcfggbb
In conclusion: this is basically Charles around Arthur

Arthur with his very dry sense of humour that seems to offend people more then anything making a joke to mr serious stoic Charles when he first joins that has him in absolute stitches

So I don't think this is actually the case but what if Eliza and Isaac's deaths werent over a petty amount of cash and a robbery gone wrong? What if, instead, Dutch had seen Arthur spending time with them, had perceived him slipping away as a threat: a threat to himself, his gang, his security, his family, afraid of losing his lead enforcer - whether he truly at that point did love him like a son, or not. And in his insecurity or fear or whatever other reason, he finds someone rotten, unrelated to the gang, and he pays them to murder Eliza and her little boy, so no one will ever tempt Arthur away from the flock, and he instead puts all his energy and time into the gang, the only family he has left.

Abigail Marston Is THAT Bitch
“abigail is such a bitch” yeah she’s THAT bitch! everybody in the rdr universe wanted her! she got not just one, but BOTH main characters to want to marry her. every other character? OBSESSED. abigail was rejecting and humiliating micah bell every day and he STILL wanted her. that loser bandit harassing geddes in the epilogue? all he ever talked about was how pretty abigail was. the entire gang was still talking about abigail ten years later saying shit like “we all had her”. we get it!! you’re bragging that the sexiest woman ever paid attention to you!! that’s what good pussy does to a mf fr

Sean MacGuire and laughing after being slapped across the face. Sean MacGuire and smiling, giggling, while constantly being rejected, never really holding any expectations of anyone else. Never expecting that true acceptance he seeks. Sean MacGuire brushing off the torture and terror he's been through the past two weeks just to grin and joke, so nobody will worry too much. Sean MacGuire chasing a woman who vaccilates in whether or not she wants him, happy when she gives him the time of day, not complaining when she doesn't. Sean MacGuire and putting all his love and light and laughter into the world and being rewarded by rolling eyes and derisive comments, but doing it anyway because nobody else will. Sean MacGuire staying optimistic, carefree, joking. Filling the role he's been given in the gang, being told off if he stops doing so.
Dutch van der Linde laughing, telling Arthur Morgan "He's just a younger version of you!"

As someone who has only played the first Red Dead Redemption, going into the 2nd game blind feels like the calm before the storm. I can see how people who only played RDR2 could view this game as a straight-up western shoot-em-up game since it comes off as fun and lively. Kinda like a cowboy GTA V, the story isn’t goofy but it’s fun enough that you don’t expect it to get too emotional. But if you played RDR1, the 2nd game just feels like a tragedy about to happen.
RDR1 is one of the most bleak games I’ve ever played. It’s not grimdark, but you can feel a certain sadness in the story. The game is all about the death of the Wild West, so the story feels like you’re watching something decay right before your eyes. John Marston can only talk about the “good old days”, the law are killing the last of the gunslingers, modern technology is taking over, and the world just seems harsh and cruel.
In comparison, RDR2 feels like there’s still life in it. There’s a certain feeling of freedom and joy that you don’t get from RDR1. So knowing how RDR1 is, RDR2 feels like a story where you just know it’s going to turn grim. I do know that Arthur Morgan dies, that’s been spoiled to me already. But I’m curious to see how dark it gets.
(Now that I think about it, if RDR2 is a cowboy GTA V, then RDR1 is a cowboy GTA IV due to its darker, sadder tone. So if Arthur is a more likable Michael de Santa, then John is a more honorable Niko Bellic. Heck, both John and Niko were driven by revenge and their desire to break free from their dark past)

John and Dutch's relationship has me sobbing on a good day and having a full on mental breakdown on a bad one. If Arthur is like Hosea, then John is like Dutch; authority issues, conflicting emotions, false bravado, and all. If John seeing Dutch in rdr2, "broke his heart," I don't even wanna imagine what he was going through during and after THAT scene in the first game. It's clear, and literally stated by John himself, how much he loves Dutch, and how conflicted his feelings are toward him. The thought of John finding out that Dutch, the only father figure he has left alive, the man who saved him from hanging and gave him a family at the age of 12, was gonna leave him die in prison, and then later on the train...it...I'm so normal about this; it's fine.

John: Wanna know what I like to imagine rice is when I’m eating it?
Arthur: Dammit, John, we’re all trying to eat here… grow up.
Also Arthur: Y’all want to know what I like to pretend noodles are when I’m eating them?
Dutch, slamming hands down on the table: For fuck’s sake!
