Hello friends, Im here saying that I have a slot open to work on a new project/game, I am a generalist pixel artist, working from everything, from characters, tiles sets, backgrounds, icons, portratis, animations, but with a focus on characters.
While I am looking for any cool project you might have and have interesting in having me working on it, I have a soft spot for isometric art and would love to work on a game with this style.

Pixels in the Dark is a personal project I am making for my favorite tabletop rpg Blades in the Dark, and it's right now an assets pack of characters and factions to be used printed and with digital apps. The project is moving very slow since it's a project with no profit in mind but some ambitious goals, after the charactrs and factions done I would like to expand to making maps, character and crew sheets and if possible (and John allows it) I would even wanted to add a small hack/sourcebook adding tactical rules for it, this is the most ambitious and probably not possible goal, but I believe the characters, maps, sheets and tokens will be done someday. I dont have a date for it, so it might never release it, but it's a fun project to work.

I think one of the things I like most as pixel artist is to work with isometric pixesl, and wants to from time to time reflect my improvement and see how I can keep making new ideas for it. WHile I still really like my "Smol" style that I use for my ttrpg/game City Noire, I want to experiment and eventually work with bigger pixel art, and have a style of my own that close reflect my biggest influence as pixel artist, Final Fantasy Tactics, and so far happy with some of the results achieved. =)

Hi!! A lot of art here to talk a bit about myself, a bit of self promotion since Twitter is becoming more and more a useless hellscape.
My name is Raul, im a pixel artist, illustrator and animator from Brazil, working on digital games and tabletop rpgs mostly, some of the games I worked including:

I have my own personal project, a tabletop rgp and solo strategy game called CIty Noire, where players form a group of revolucionaires to take the challenge to defeat the ruler Tyrant in a VIctorian/Gothic inspired setting with a little bit of sci fi. Game has a focus on tactical mechanics but where players use stealth instead of direct combat.
Currently while I have a lot of working projects Im looking to work on a isometric tactical digital games, being fan of Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Xcom, Invisible Inc, this is one game that I still need to work with, and I think my pixel art style fits very well, it is already inspired by FFT.

I really like tactical rpgs, it's something that I want to see more explored, to have more games that toy with the concept and be less reliant on the legacy of dnd4e, and Im very luck to have the opportunity of working on 2 really cool tactical rpgs, HELLPIERCERS and NOVA Tactics, and Im also working on my own project City Noire, that is also a tactical rpg but with a little different approach, players will be more involved into breaking into places and stealth their way during the missions instead of a direct combat approach, but if they want this is a possibility.

I started a october challenge for myself, and since I am playing too much rts comp stomp these days, each day I will draw an rts pixel fan art each day. Day 1 was StarCraft and day 2 is Age of Empires. Tomorrow is going to be Red Alert 2. =)

Finished my Strategytober 2023 (rtbit) October challenge, 31 rts games that I enjoyed a lot and some are very important to me being some of my favorite games, I still want to add 5 more because I feel there are more games I want to include and because I can't stand the last row being unfinished.
It was a very fun challenge that helped me study smaller pixel art style and working with some different forms that I usually dont do it, specially some vehicles, now I want to work on a game with that style. Hope you all like it. =)

Need to go back to work on City Noire, my tabletop rpg, and the side game Solo Strategy Rpg (cool name right!), most of the gameplay is formed, but these days I have the idea of remake the rules to use less dice as possible. Being in contact with NOVA Tactics and HELLPIERCERS, games that use few dice or no dice at all and retain their tactical mechanics, even better, enhance it because without too much rng getting in the way it feels better to create strategy and put into use. For a game about stealth and precision, use less dice seems to be the ideal solution.
Since my solo stratregy rpg is being designed to be diceless, I might get some of the rules and add to City Noire tabletop rpg.

Today is Wargroove 2 launch day! Gongrats to everyone that worke on what Im sure it's going to be a great game. My celebration is a fan art for the game with some custom art I made. And a little story of how Wargroove is important to me.
Wargroove is probably the main reason for me to become a pixel artist, since I saw the mockup of what would become Wargroove I fell in love with it, and resume my interest to pixel art, I always dabbled on it on and off though the years, but seeing the amazing art of Wargroove made me interest into know more about it, my main reference of modern pixel art was the work of Glaubler for Duelyst, and because of Wargroove I discover the modern pixel art scene, I end up buying Aseprite and the first studying it, using Wargroove style as reference. Eventually I end up leaving my job as Graphic Designer because they thought that making Batman tees on home office wasnt the same as making Batman tees at the office and that we should risk death by Covid, so with the pixel art skills I got (and a lot of luck) I was able to start to work as freelancer pixel artist and it's my job since them. So thanks Wargroove, for being this amazing game made by great people that changed my life... and it's also the only strategy game my gf plays with me, another big plus. =)

Strategytober 2023 (rtsbit)
Kinda half way done, and I want to make some extra games after 31, each game I chose I have some personal connection to it, game that was big part of my childhood, that connected with friends, that it was important for my desire to become an artist and designer or that I simply loved to play it, reconnect with some of those games is giving me a very nostalgic feeling, returning to simpler times of being a teenager mid 2000s, kinda bittersweet memories... strange how games about tiny soldies making war can generate some interesting feeling.
