If you can't tell I am obsessed with the messy rattmann style. I'm gonna say it. I think Mr. Doug Rattmann here is an underrated character and there ought to be more art of him.

Anywho, something for once that isn't Wheatley related woah. I rarely draw rattmann myself but I should do it more. I WAS going to make a speedpaint vid with this BUT windows gamebar crapped itself and corrupted the video file afterwards 😔 Hope you enjoy this little piece of mine though!

I know I haven’t portal posted in a while but I think people don’t quite utilise the interesting imagery that Dougs relationship with Chell would be

the man sicked her onto the facility like an attack dog, a reaper sent down to destroy the facility. TWICE, the last time sacrificing his own life to do so, placing himself into the pod and turning into the Schrödinger’s cat experiment.

it’s genuinely so cool, chell some kind of monster, the indomitable human spirit, you could give her so much angelic or monstrous imagery depending on which perspective you look at.

from the perspective of aperture? She fucking sucks, a creature who destroyed what little they had left. from the perspective of the people who want freedom she’s a sort of saviour, but the thing about that perspective is

she also sucked at THAT

she left Aperture science with herself ALIVE but not saving the thousands of other humans in cryo that we see in co-op, she’s utterly out for herself like some kind of force of nature.

I dunno I just woke up, I guess I just wonder if Doug would have been happy with the outcome that they got, I feel like he wouldn’t.

ok at first i was doing this for fun but dr. two brains' lore has parts that are similar to glados', turned into something against his wishes and him being wordgirl's (chell) nemesis. the fact that he is sometimes overtaken by his mouse counterpart makes him perfect as doug rattmann because of him losing his mind trying to fight the evil side of him + the name coincidence lol. the cherry on top is him being a scientist and naturally love testing...oohhh these cosplays are perfect for him

Portal/Portal 2 Hunger Games (Highlights)

I did a Portal Hunger Games that was so perfect–but I didn’t know that saving them was a thing, I kind of hypothesized it was automatically saved. It was so good I can’t bring myself to generate another one, so I’ll write down what I remember:

Rattmann was killed by his own Companion Cube, who died shortly after.

Classic Companion Cube won.

Chell was pretty chill, just “Chell fishes” and “Chell makes a slingshot.”

GLaDOS…somehow died of hypothermia.

P-Body tried to sing themself to sleep, which made me wonder if the co-op bots can make music like the turrets.

I made PotatOS, GLaDOS, and Caroline three separate people for more characters, and I made a character called Combustible Lemon which was supposed to be Cave in a lemon like Caroline in a potato. They were snuggling together for warmth at one point. (Can’t remember if it was before or after GLaDOS died of hypothermia. I think before.)

I made Fizzled Companion Cube 1 and Fizzled Companion Cube 2 (from the Portal 2 chamber) characters, but later realized I should have used Charlie and Grady from Aperture Deskjob.

One of the Fizzled Companion Cubes begged another to kill it, but was refused.

Cave discovered a cave–I actually have one screenshot of the games and this is it, to document Cave’s cave.

Hello! You may know me from my main blog @chaoticcutiewhirl but this blog can be basically seen as a sort of ad. Before you Scroll, let me explain. Portal New Age of Testing is an RP server, me and my friend Fludd worked hard on, there are so many plans such as adding game elements to the RP and trying to create a world set after Portal 2 that will eventually touch upon Half-life. I will be planning to post a couple of RP snippets through my time here, as possible ideas of what you are getting into, and yes, I will mark it when it is other Writers other than me on the RP which will be almost always. If you see this and think RP is childish, well you are kind of right, only thing is, that RP is also played as a game as well as a possibility to get better at writing. Do you want to better thrink of how to write internal dialogue, boom you have testing and having your character try to figure out what to do. Do you want to test a character idea for something you’re writing? Well as long as it fits within canon, test them in RP. Do you just want to find possible online writing friends? Well this server can also have your back. We are already on Disboard but I am trying to reach out here as well because Tumblr is mainly an artist alley, which includes writers and writing side of Tumblr, if you played Portal (and its tumblr, of course you have, its ome of the most lgbtq+ kinda games from a big company), come over and join, we will be happy to have you. We also have a fairly strong artist side of the server with members like Fludd for example creating the gif and video from above, all on his own may I add.

Simply put, if you have an itch to write portal and you don’t want to write a fan fic, come over and join us, everyone is welcomed!
