Phantom Redesign

I introduced my OCs in this old post and while most of it is still can (some stuff changed but not much), I don't like the art much and both Phantom & Chroni are up for redesigns. But, here's Phantom's new design!

Talking about design under cut.

I wanted to make it more subtly jester-like, but still keeping muted colors and formal looking. He also gained hooves which is why his legs look like that (those heels don't make him any taller, it's just the boots he can wear properly bcuz he walks on his toes lol). I changed the work tie for a bowtie because he's loosely inspired by a doll, and a bowtie is more fun than a regular tie. His eyes are meant to he cartoony, and I was going to make his mouth more realistic, but that ruined the vibe. Gave his underside face a different color bcuz he was also loosely inspired by a deer, and adding it just reminded me of one ig, lol.

For those who don't know (bcuz I barely draw him like this), Phantom is a vakint, which is a species made out of magic and made to do tasks, and they all have masks which holds their physical form together and if the mask breaks, they die.

Phantom's mask was heavily based on a masquerade, and I wanted to make his "main" outfit remind us of that a lot. Not much to say other than it was more interesting than his old design. It was made to look like a ring leader because he has puppeteer magic and uses his dolls like a ringmaster would use his circus.

Anyways, comparison to his old design

Imma redesign Chroni next probably. She's super cute and not much will change probably, but I want to get rid of her shoes and give her deer hooves like Phantom. She'll also gain deer ears since the cat ears don't really work well, and I might make her outfit more colorful to match an old children's doll more.

Embarrassed Blue

Out of the main cast, Blueblood probably has the most designs that I still currently use. They have the ability to shapeshift, and when I mostly draw them, they're trying to be inconspicuous. This isn't their true form (I imagine their true form is a lot more monstorous), but it's like a small combination of what they really look like I'd they let go of most of their layers. Oc Introduction

When you realize you've had your OCs for over five years but never made a height chart

Anyways, here is the main cast for one of my stories! It doesn't have a name yet, but I just refer to it as the Réaltraverse for now. It's about a boy named Phantom who was revived after being doormant for over a hundred years and exploring the world around him, while also seeing what secrets it had to hide.

From left to right, their names are Blueblood, Phantom, Sparrow, and Chroni

Blueblood

I don't want to say too much about them, because it would be spoilers if I ever do anything with this, but if you scroll hsrd enough, you can probably find more stuffnon them. But I can give base info!

Blueblood (they/them) is a mysterious elf that has a special relation to butterflies. They're very secretive, preferring to keep to themselves and getting defensive when anyone tries to pry anything about them. Blueblood isn't even their real name, as they want to keep their identity a secret. They are moody and can be irritable, but they're a good provider of information to the group. They're also the only non-vakint in the main cast. While they are mostly level-headed, they have tendencies to be rather violent, taking pleasure in harming the people they don't like.

Blueblood is one of my favorite characters to write, and I have a lot of stuff for them planned!

Phantom

The protagonist! Some background info on him and the rest of the cast's species, since you have to understand that to know what he is.

Anyways, Phantom! Phantom is a vakint that was made to kill a certain queen, but was given sentience by the witch who made him. The plan got called off for various reasons, and Phantom's magic was put in his mask, making him doormant for the next hundred years, until Sparrow accidently revived him. He has the vibes and mannerisms of a 1930s showman, and he's very energetic, mischievous, and playful. He can be a bit sadistic, not afraid to kill anyone when he needs to, even taking pleasure in it (which Sparrow doesn't like). Other than that, he is very dramatic and a bit emotional, talking everything up like it's a major thing. The best way I can describe him is 'theater kid.' Ignoring the hundrd year part, he's about 15-16 years old.

Vakints are a species composed of pure magic. They were made a couple thousand years ago by a spider-like species called Arachnidians and were made to carry out tasks. They're born with a mask, and the only way they can be killed is if their mask is broken. They can look like pretty much anything, but one of their eyes will always be black and they will always have pointed claws. When they're first made, they don't have any sentience and just do what their masters tell them. But they can gain sentience if their masters grant it to them.

Sparrow

The one who accidently revived Phantom after applying his mask to a mysterious sigil. Sparrow is a vakint and is quiet, shy, and a bit awkward, but he absolutely loves history and folklore and can talk for hours about it. He enjoys exploring and collecting items he finds to research them with Chronix later. Most of his past is foggy to him, but he's trying his best to remeber, so he often goes back to the place he was made (Cavum Hollow) to find clues. Sparrow works as the voice of reason for the group.

Chroni

Chroni is the oldest vakint of the group, despite being the shorter. And, despite her sweet appearance, she can speak rather violently about horrifying subjects. She has an obsession with time and always carries watches with her, and her obsessive personality can carry into other things . She's easily distracted and very spontaneous. Like Sparrow, she enjoys exploring but would rather indulge in it for her own interest than do it for research purposes. She prefers to surround herself with things she likes and gets incredibly angry when any of it is destroyed. I'm very excited to show her lore since I have a lot of plans with it!

Chroni Redesign

Redesigned Phantom, so now it's time for Chroni!

Not much changed bcuz I already liked most aspects of her design, but I just changed some stuff that didn't fit. Swapped out her cat ears for goat/sheep ears bcuz it makes more sense for her aesthetic. She also has deer legs like Phantom because I want them to look similar. Her outfit is more colorful, and I swapped out her dress for a cape thing to do more dynamic poses.

Lowkey

Introducing Lowkey! Lowkey is an Arachnidian, a spider-like species that works with dark magic using webs.

I'm still making his lore, but he grew up as an orphan in a small spider village doing street performances for money. At some point, when he was 11, he joined a traveling group called the Corrupted Orchestra, making music around Syibres (realm he is from), to bring what little joy he could with this group. During this time, he adopted the God The Silhouette as his patron God and became very religious, wearing a mask with the rest of the Orchestra as a way to show their faith. It's something that brings him comfort, and he wears it a lot when he feels uneasy. He also became very close to an arachnidian/succubus hyrbid in the orchestra named Mary (short for Marionette), with him counting her as his best friend. (More stuff under cut)

After a couple of years of traveling with them, he met a king named Soulseeker, the leader of a group who studied the magic of souls and the power to become immortal. Lowkey was a very good magic user, and Soulseeker wanted his talents, but he refused, saying that he'd rather stay with his orchestra. But, after that, members of the Orchestra would mysteriously die, with Marionette disappearing, but a body never being found. By the time the last member died, Lowkey was devastated. By that time, Soulseeker came back, asking if he wanted go join him, and Lowkey agreed, thinking he had nothing to lose. He now takes out small tasks for Soulseeker, becoming like his little errand boy, with the mindset of "if I do this, he'll set me free." And he'll do Amy task that Soulseeker gives him. But, he still performs for others, being something that can genuinely bring him joy.

(Also I'm bored, so here's some stuff about him that I couldn't fit in this)

-Idk his exact age, but it's somewhere between his late 20s and early 30s, and he joined Soulseeker in his early 20s

-Lowkey is a full genderblind pansexual

-He's multilingual, speaking both English, Elvish, Arachnidian (obviously his first language), and Flurlfian

-If it wasn't obvious before, he is 100% a theater kid, and his favorite king of shows are musicals and puppet shows since he's good at both

-His favorite instrument is the violin

-His fangs are slightly venomous and leave a weird tingly and numbing sensation wherever the target was bitten. It wares off in about 24 hours

-He does have very small white pupils, but they only appear when he has strong emotions

-He does very well with kids, and he was the temporary caretaker of the youngest member of the Corrupted Orchestra, a feliflie/arachnidian hybrid named Button

-Most members of the Corrupted Orchestra wear masks thst fully cover their face, but Lowkey designed his mask to only cover half of his face since many of his performances relied on his facial expressions, and many members of the Orchestra encouraged him to because they thought his eyes were pretty (as of making this, he was the only one there with red eyes, and the color red is seen as a symbol of good luck for Arachnidians)

-Out of the six eyes he has, he can only really see well with his top and middle eyes, and the bottom eyes just help him see better in fog
